You don’t expect much today.  

Not because it's not important- no, it's your birthday after all. But things have been busy, life has been loud- new job, exhaustion catching up to you, taking a break from few things and with all this, the only thing that was keeping you sane was your boyfriend. 

You get home and switch on the light as you notice a small trail of rose petals (a little dramatic but you smile anyway) leading to your hall. 

And there you see Sunghoon stand awkwardly in the middle, holding a cake with slightly uneven icing, filled with sliced mangoes, a single candle flickering slightly and a wobbly “HBD my fav designer” text written with icing on the cake. 

“I wanted to make it special,” he mumbles, scratching the back of his neck. “So, I made it from scratch after watching like 12 different YouTube tutorials.”  

You blink and then grin, “You baked for me?” 

“Though I'm not good at baking like you, I tried and... its technically edible.” he says seriously. 

Your heart melts as you laugh, “That’s all I ask for.” 

He smiles as he steps forward, holding out the cake for you, “Make a wish!” 

You give him a smile of your own as you close your eyes, a soft orange glow on your face- the candle’s flame reflecting as Sunghoon continued to watch you like you just dropped from heaven. (maybe u did) 

You make your wish as you softly blow out the candle.  

“Happy birthday angel,” he says quietly. 

“I know I'm not great at words or surprises but I try to. And I hope today felt a little more like you.” 

You look at him, really look at him and you smile, “It did, and you are my favorite part of it” 

He smiles and kisses your forehead before he sets the cake down on the coffee table. He takes the bag, which was on the ground and hands you it, avoiding your eyes.  

Inside is... The Firstfruit album- Mark Lee’s first full album. 

Your jaw drops, “Wait- is this-” 

Sunghoon hums as he folds his hands over his chest, “Yeah, took me two whole days to find it cause apparently everyone wants it. Including you, unfortunately.”  

You try not to laugh, but you’re already grinning. “Are you jealous of Mark Lee?” 

“I’m not saying I fought a fourteen-year-old at the store,” he says dramatically, “but I almost did. For that album. For you.” 

He pauses, then he shrugs, “You better not stare at his photo all day. I'm still the main attraction.”  

You burst out laughing, already holding the album to your chest. 

“Thank you.” you say warmly. 

He leans in slightly, gaze soft but playful. “Next year I’m only giving you my photocard and our album. So, I don’t have to share.” 

You smile and kiss him as he wraps his arm around your waist and kisses you back. 

“I love you, thank you so much hoon.” You say after you pull back. 

“Anything for you pretty.” He says with a soft smile looking at you and then kissed your forehead.

I love ALL OF THESEEE!! Now, let me expand on them like the evil gremlin I am.

The left hand… you know how in olden days people used to ‘train’ the ‘left-handedness” out of kids? I bring the idea of Natalie (Mother) trying to do that to Addley— news flash, didn’t exactly work— now he uses his left more dominant hand every chance he gets as his small amount of defiance against her. (Especially when she isn’t looking, he doesn’t want to actually up set her… he’s just a bit of a defiant lil asshole.)

I can see Addley def listening to all those listed, I feel like he would also like songs similar to angry polka— just cause it’s a tad different (think of ‘Sleep is for the weak’ by the Dreadnoughts), he also has like 600 band tees cause I said so— I also feel he is secretly a man of fashion. Have you seen his suspenders? He loves looking cool.

Also the mechanic thing? I CAN SEE ITTTT!!! I headcanon our boy with ADHD.. look at ‘em. All the info would be gone to the wind within’ a few hours if it can’t keep his attention.

I also feel like with broken bones, he literally somehow, while being so damn clumsy and carefree about whatever he does, rarely gets any actual injuries. He’s like that one kid you knew in high school who fell off a roof and all he got was a twisted ankle for a week… that might be true for Addley, ngl.

Also, 100% with the trust thing. For Addley to respect someone’s orders or asks, he MUST have some sort of comfort with that person. Idc— can’t tell me otherwise. He turns into an obedient dog once he feels he can put trust into someone, even if he try’s to defy them in small ways. (See answer one)

I also SOOOO agree with all the doggy traits you give him, he’s like a golden retriever raised to wreak havoc! He does whine at you when you don’t give him what he wants?? Why would you not?? He does everything you said?

He’d love any treat! Even if it’s a sticker, makes him feel so proud once you give him any sort of gratitude. Like yes, my number one person loves me and is so proud of me I got a gift..!

I also feel gifts wise, Addley would be sooo fond of things he could wear. As in; bracelets! Or earrings, anything you make he can wear? Absolutely, he will wear that shit till it breaks.

Also? Simpsons? You’re so fucking real, and I get you. (One of my faves is literally also bobs burgers, 10/10). Addley would definitely make you sit with him once his show EVER comes on the cable channel, he will make you drop everything, begging you. It’s one of the things he genuinely likes doing… just watching TV and not worrying about anything at all. Of course, he’d let you pick a show or movie every now and then… he likes Mr.Pickles… he’ll also sit and watch the Adult Swim channel for hours with you, trust me.

And AGAINNN with the ADHD thing!! Once he sees he won’t improve on a skill or subject he seems to loose interest in it. I feel, however, if you would do anything with him? Of course he would continue to do it??? One of his favorite people wants to do something with him he already knows a bit about! He’d LOVE to teach you how to play guitar, or craft— literally anything, he’s basically a walking multi tool!

His butterfly knife— he lets you put a lil sticker on it. Trust me. LISTEN PLEASE- gets dragged away

I feel like Addley likes a lot of things because of his mother, either because it was forced down his throat, or it just makes him think of her in some way. Mommas boy, through and through. (Even if she terrifies him sometimes..) He most definitely has some rings or something like that of hers, he keeps them pristine!

Pothead? He keeps edibles in a little mint can… shut up, it’s canon. He probably offered Ike one before and got smacked upside the head. (His brother was stressed? He was trynna help him. Damn.)

Doodles.. in my eyes, everyone is a doodler at heart. I feel Addley with genuinely really good at making little bubble comic like graffiti and prints. Like ‘FUCK THIS.’ But it’s all graffiti letters and in red ink. Because he’s just cool like that. (He would soooo love to give you a tattoo… like, by his own hand. It’s a marking from him that will never go away… and he can put it whatever the wants.)(pretty? or just his own name… maybe he’ll give you something cute like a skull with a bow?)

I’m all for Sour head Addley— I’m the same way. I cannot stand certain spices, I’ll die if I eat a hot Cheeto. He’s probably like that, but can eat and entire tub of just pure sour hard candy and then just accept he killed his taste buds like nothing happened. Definitely keeps a pack of sour gummies and offers them to his siblings or you randomly… c’mon… try one… they’re reallyyyy good, not that sour! Trust him.

And crying. If it was a bad situation? He would 100% awkwardly try to hold you, you’re someone he cares about— your crying may make him want to go hide, but it breaks his heart to see anyone he cares about upset. He’s gonna try his damn best to make it stop. He may even try to do something so ridiculous you forget to cry.. definitely did that to his sister before..

If it’s a hostage or victim crying??… he runs away. It’s hard for him to give a shit about them, and it does make him so damn uncomfortable. Addley isn’t much of a deep feelings guy— unless he’s high, he sounds like a philosopher

Tattoos… Addley def has tattoos, and I’d like to think he has done at least ONE himself! I see him as having those very intricate designs that he can talk hours about. The story of why he got it, who the artist was, the meaning. And then he probably has one he got while tweaked into the next dimension that’s just some stupid cartoon character with a beanie.. he ain’t got a story for that one, sorry sweetheart.

That’s A LOT, but you got my brain jogging!! I genuinely love talking abt him— because Addley doesn’t exactly have 100% set lore, that’s why I adore him so much.

Here’s a few of mine…

Addley loves fish. The animal. He would be so happy if after all this criminal stuff settled a bit he could get a fish tank and just watch them all. He thinks they’re beautiful…

It may have been from a time in the past, maybe in school his class pet was a fish— or one time in a store he saw the wall of them and decided they were his favorite animal? Whatever it was, he loves them. The shine of their scales is calming to him, loving the different breeds, and how they all seem to have personalities.

Addley would also probably be the type to pick up a stray animal and love on it. It may have 143 diseases, he dgaf… it’s a cat? Look at it? It’s a little baby? He’s stealing it. His mother definitely yells at him for this, it’s a habit he desperately tries to break. Failing miserably.

Addley is like a crow, and picks up shiny shit up give to his family, and you. I don’t care. It could be a bottle cap he polished and made into a necklace. He’s crafty, what can he say?

He HATES painting. He actually can’t stand it. It takes so much patience it just pisses him off. If he’s gonna paint, it’s gonna be finger paint, and he’s just gonna flick his fingers at the canvas like the knows wtf he’s doing. (He doesn’t)

Loves being praised for anything, and immediately gets put on edge if he even SMELLS any irritation directed at him. Depending who it is, he gets so defensive— even if there wasn’t anything wrong in the first place. You could look at him wrong and he would pout in apology, or glare and start an argument.

He’s lowkey a ticking time bomb, but a simple “it’s fine, why are you upset?” Is enough to make him just drop it…

He has habits like biting his nails, they’re so short they bleed sometimes…

This is painful for me to write as Seonghwa is in my bias line but I gotta keep it real here, no putting idols on a pedestal on this blog.

This analysis is more difficult for me to write than the others b/c Seonghwa's natal chart reveals he has a rather *complicated* experience and view of romantic relationships.

His Cancer Moon/Aquarius Venus/Aries Mars/5th House Scorpio all have polarising values which clash against each other and can lead to Seonghwa being quite *messy* in relationships b/c his sexual and physical needs are very different to his emotional and romantic needs.

He has a high drive and can happily have copious amounts of sex with random people b/c he has the ability to detach emotionally and focus on the physical/biological pleasure of it.

That's why out of all the members, he is (imo) the biggest fuckboi in the group b/c he can participate in hook-up culture and be content with it, he might even prefer it if he's going through a bad stage in his life as he does lean on sex as a coping mechanism with his 8th House Venus.

BUT!!!

The constant hook-ups and meaningless sex doesn't satisfy him for long b/c it's not nurturing the emotional/romantic needs of his Cancer Moon/8th House Venus who does yearn for a exclusive, soul-tethering relationship. He wants a partner to give him the same level of love and care he gives to everyone else.

I think it's likely because he's a guy in his 20s that he goes through the painful cycle of abstaining whilst he waits for 'the one', becoming impatient, horny and lonely, pursues casual hook-ups and is happy for awhile, then leaves feeling empty and hollow, goes back to abstaining and then it repeats all over again.

This makes the relationship begin more smoothly b/c ideally, you would have told him you are a late bloomer before you become a couple and he would accept it, even be proud that he's your first boyfriend b/c it's something that ties him to you.

Even if the relationship ends, he will be in your heart permanently b/c he's your first and that gets his heart soaring, his eyes glistening, maybe even slightly turned on b/c it means he's claimed a piece of you in some way.

Yes, he's an Aquarius Venus but it is in the 8th House nonetheless so there's a strong Pluto influence in the way he loves and desires you.

But back to being romantic, he has a Cancer Moon which gives him and incredible amount of empathy and care and so I imagine him not being formal or official when he asks you out but revealing his feelings impulsively if you emotionally trigger him somehow.

How to write an essay you could not care less about in 10 steps

Hello. I have an essay to write.

I am also, (unfortunately) the kind of lazy, apathetic burnout who will only do my FUCKING work if I get really worked up. Usually that ends up meaning all of my papers are spite-fuelled tirades but my profs seem to like them so fine. I hope you find this particular raging tirade useful.

Today, I would like to educate the 4 of you that will actually see this on a fine art I have perfected over the years. Writing a paper, about which, you do not give a single, solitary, crumb of a fuck about. This is (you may have guessed) and excellent way for me to procrastinate doing a paper that *I* do not give a single solitary crumb of a fuck about. For best results, I recommend doing this NIGHT-BEFORE-PANIC like, a week in advance so you can fix all the NONSENSE that your more reasonable brain will undoubtedly find. But if it’s the night before and you are shit outta luck, this will get ‘er done. And with practice, you can even pull good grades outta these bitches.

 Dissociating? I gotchu. Woke up the day of the deadline to feel like absolute utter garbage? Search no more friends.  

  FAILING GRADES ARE BETTER THAN ZEROS JUST FUCKIN DOOOOOO ITTTT

1.    Go get the prompt.

I fucking mean it. Even if you are like 1000% sure you know what the prompt is asking, go to the FUCKING assignment, and copy that shit into your word document. Got the assignment on paper? TYPE THAT SHIT UP MOTHERFUCKER.

(Do you see what I fucking have to deal with)

Boom?

BOOM.

Congratulations, you now have a document, and whats more, there are WORDS in it!! You aren’t starting from scratch anymore kiddo. Fringe benefit, you always know EXACTLY what the assignment wants because its fucking Staring You Down. Not saying you have to do exactly as it says, mama didn’t raise no BITCH and I aint scared of fuckin CALLING PROFS OUT but if you wanna break the rules you gotta know what they are first

(Disclaimer: I have also been kicked out of class on numerous occasions for fighting with the prof and had full classes where the lecture WAS me arguing so maybe take my opinions of conformity with a grain of salt.)

2.    Math THE FIRST

I know, this is an essay and not a fucking calculus test. But some of this shit is USEFUL OKAY

Take the paper in question. How long does it have to be? Mine is 5 pages. A page is generally accepted to be 250 words (double spaced because we FUCKING LOVE OURSELVES) so 5 x 250 = 1250 wds. That’s the goal. That’s the pinnacle. That’s your new holy grail.

Time to split this bitch up

  3.    Yarrrrrr, CONTENT

And finally, we get to the part that is the reason why you are being an absolute bitch baby about this essay (maybe. I might be projecting. Your life is your life and im sure youre doing your best.) I Hate this part, but now with our magic number we don’t need to pull 5 pages out of the ether.

This part really requires you to know your vibe. Is this something that you have a lot of little opinions (read: evidence) about or like, only 2 or 3 big bois? Look deep into your soul and figure out which is the easiest for you to shit out, a rant or a list. a  great way to do this is to WRITE ANYTHING YOU GOT OUT

Here you can see I’ve put all of the thoughts I have about the question into a list, slapped some standard “opening” and “closing” shit around it so I can FUCKING FIND IT AGAIN and given it a good hard look. Whats the common thread in all of my opinions? That the prompt is fucking stupid and makes no sense is asking 2 different questions. Congratulations: you found your thesis. This essay, like many of my essays, bears the thesis “this is a weird question to be asking” (which falls under my broader category of “bitches aint shit” essays.)

Congratulations you have the bare bones of your skeleton.

  4.    MATH THE SECOND

 The magic number returns. All hail our glorious leader. 1250 right?

So heres how I break this down. Break off a small chunk at the beginning. For this essay im gonna split off the 250. Split that baby in half. Congratulations, now you have a word count on your opening and closing. Personally, I know I like a lil extra space at the end to get all ranty, so Imma split this puppy up 100 for my opening and 150 for the closing. WARNING: You will think that you will be able to write enough in your opening and closing to take up lots of space. You will feel the urge to give them both the same amount of words that you give your points. This is misguided and foolish. Not only will you 1) not be able to do it but 2) even if you did, that’s like getting a sandwich which is all bread. No one wants that. Don’t be that dude. Fight the urge.

 RIGHT SO. We’re still left on the other 1000 words.

If you have an idea that like, is bigger than the others, go ahead and give that puppy more of the word count than the others, fractions are your friend here and you wanna think about how much of your final product each of these babies will be. If you, like me, are an utter buffoon with no clue what youre doing, open your calculator up. Divide the remaining word count by the number of points you have. Congratulations. Youre doing the essaying.

If this is enough to get you started, GREAT! See you at step seven. BEFORE YOU GO I would like to give you this tip

5.    CITE YOUR INFORMATION AS YOU ADD IT IN.

It doesn’t need to be a full citation, just literally a footnote with something that will help you remember where its from and for the love of god WHAT PAGE IT IS ON. The you of 3 hours from now will thank you.

  6.    Filling in the skeleton

 I don’t know about you, but I cant exactly riff off of a single sentence. Like, I know what the VIBE of my point is, but like, I cant pull it out of a hat. The name of the game here is whittling down your arguments into thinner and thinner chunks that are easier and easier to bullshit. This is how you avoid that “burning building found in flames during Brooklyn fire” bullshit that memes. You don’t wanna meme. You wanna pass. So, figure out what the things you are gonna say and in each bit, keep track of how many words you are gonna write. EITHER

a)      You put how many words you think you can write on any point beside the point as you go and just keep developing points and shuffling word counts around until it matches the total for that section

or

b)     You evenly breakup the word count between all the points and keep breaking them down until you look at a subject and a word count and go “yeah that’s doable. I can do that.”

I prefer the second so LEGGO.

Ta-Da!

7.    Write ‘er up

Ahhh glad to see we’re all back together again. Try-hards who can ACTUALLY bullshit papers, glad to see you’ve rejoined us! This is the part where you take all that shit you’ve broken up into nice little chunks and you turn it into something worth reading. You can do it. I believe in you. Try and keep your citations in place.

I like to do this as a question answer thingy, like an exam, so halfway through writing mine is gonna look like this

 The handy part about the numbers is that it gives you a frame of reference for how your bullshit is going. Realized you had a lot more to say here than you thought? Dope! Less bullshit somewhere else, take it out of a weaker point. This point didn’t give as much as you thought it would? Split the difference elsewhere! This way you have checkpoints and you can see how your essay is going

And then you can go ahead and delete your skeleton work. Its time. Its served you well. For extra drama, whisper menacing nothings to it as you send it into the darkness. Personal favourites include “no one will mourn you,” “your fate belongs to me,” and “so this is what you have come to”

  8.    Citations

Theres like a million ways out there to find out how to do your citations and its gonna depend on what kind of a paper you are writing. I use Chicago most of the time, including here. My advice? Use a site like, bib.me or something to do your bibliography, and then plaster that in the bottom of your document. Use that as the building blocks to do your footnotes. Let Purdue Owl be your guide. Purdue Owl Style Guide Is A Mighty Friend Indeed.

 Also your welcome for that, “putting the page numbers in as you put the info in” shit. That took me alarmingly long to figure out. It’s a wonder theyre giving me a degree.

  9.    Proofread that shit, ya bougie bitch.

If you wanna be time effective, getting a friend to proofread while you do your citations is a great way to go. If you have a few days, put your paper away and come back to it. If you are out of friends and time then https://www.paperrater.com/ is your last hope.

  10.       Slap a title page on that shit and GET IT SUBMITTED

 No joke, I have been using the same template for a coverpage all through highschool and my undergrad. There is only one title page and every time I write an essay I take the title page from the last paper I wrote. There is no beginning. Only title page. Title? Topic of paper: point of paper. For example, If I had to title this screed I’d call it Essay Writing: An exploration of mediocrity. slap the date and your name and the course and instructor on there and BAM. YA DONE.

 Anyway submit that shit an go to bed youre done goodnight

EPILOGUE

I’ve gotten this essay back, and when I wrote it, I was barely a human being. Barely capable of human speech let alone a coherent argument. I would forget the end of the sentence by the time I typed out the beginning. But I still for a 70%! is it the best mark I’ve ever gotten? no! but it is a hell of a lot better than the 0% I would have gotten if i hadnt done this. I get it. And i hope this helps.

Hi,

I enjoyed Bulgasal too, but was emotionally tired by the end. The writers did a nice job keeping me stressed and hanging on to the end to find out what the mystery was from 1000 years ago. lol. I also liked that they were given one more chance to love and be happy with each other. Lee Joon is also a long time favorite actor of mine and he did not disappoint. I loved the moments of vulnerability he gave his character.

A good friend of mine gave me some wonderful notes of who the characters were and their clan names for The Untamed. I think I would have been more confused without the info she gave me. If you ever want to try the drama let me know and I can send you her info sheets. It is such a epic journey and I am glad I was able to finish it. The story was so interesting and the leads had such amazing chemistry. And the hair wigs and the costumes were gorgeous and didn’t look fake.

If you end up enjoying any of the Cdramas I mentioned, I would love to hear you from you about them.

Do you write on a schedule or sporadically? I write everyday sporadically

Any creativity rituals that you use: A cup of tea, a themed playlist, and a random sentence that I try to fit in to my story. It’s like a fun little challenge, figure out how “You’d be a fool to kick that stone” fits into a chapter. 

Your Writing Community Current writing/creative communities you participate in: Fandoms aside, I’m slowly working my way into writeblr, I follow the writing tags, the artblr tag, etc etc.
