#I WAS PLANNING TO FINISH THE MAGE INTERACTION
Note
Silently, from the wall, a shadow watches what has happened. It's kind of funny, honestly. But he wouldn't say that out loud, no, because he's a 'friend.' It's hard to tell he's even there, he just seems like a regular shadow. . . .Just like usual.

[mod note: (laughter)]
... *sigh..*
*He realized it was getting pretty dark, so they dimly lit their lantern behind them, making it a bit brighter and the shadows more accented*

thistle for ask meme!
Thistle :0
First impression
No joke I was convinced early on that Laios & the party were making like a huuuuge leap in assuming that Thistle was the Lunatic Magician TM like guys you can't just go accusing every random person you find in a living painting of being the manager. Alas... he was, in fact, the manager.
Impression now
He's so jester coded👍
I think Thistle is very interesting and a great foil to Marcille, which I looove. They are both magic elf(-ish) advisors, they both get caught up in wanting to help the people around them live longer, they both become dungeon lords in pursuit of that... I think Thistle's story as it is works well for the narrative and I don't necessarily think he was underutilized exactly, but it is a little hard not to want A Bit More sometimes. Even if I do think it would be hard to add that more in without sacrificing some of the pacing overall :')
Favorite moment
I was initially going to say the ending for them, because I do love it, but you know what? I've got a more interesting answer. My favorite Thistle scene is.... this:
Tumblr media
This fundamentally changes the trajectory of the story. In trying to find someone to stop the Winged Lion, Thistle launches Marcille into becoming the next lord of the dungeon. The next victim of the Lion. If Thistle hadn't resurrected Marcille, then the plot would have played out totally differently. She wouldn't have been able to finish unsealing the book. Laios would have been on his own when the canaries came. Would they have just cleaned everything up more easily? Would it instead have become something worse? Would Laios somehow have unsealed the book and become the lore of the dungeon right away?
I dunno. But this action reshaped Marcille's life, and Laios', and so many other people's. And it was done out of a desire to keep fighting. To not give in.
Augh idk. It's good. Their connection is good.
Idea for a story
Thistle & Chimera Laios.
But not just a "Laios gets eaten by the dragon instead," I think it would be cool to explore an AU where for some handwavy magic reason, Laios gets his soul bound up w/ the dragon during Falin's resurrection, and he gets poofed into a dragon form.
There's a note somewhere that says that chimeras start popping up the more the lord of the dungeon starts to lose their hold on things, but having met Laios before might help Thistle eventually realize that something is Off about the dragon. From there... well maybe he starts to ask questions and gives Laios more freedom to actually answer, and things could continue from there as Laios gets enough humanity back to start to understand what's happening, and also Thistle takes more time to question the Lion's plans rather than just continue to act. They'd be stuck together, probably with Laios still under Thistle's control, but maybe as they figure out more of the truth, they'd actually work together? Need to rely on each other? I'd like to see how each of them would deal with that situation...
PLUS then on the flip side I think switching Falin into the group part way through the story (rather than at the start) could be really interesting. So the adventures on that side would be fun too.
Unpopular opinion
umm idk. Is Thistle widely regarded as a Marcille foil? Because if not then why. They are so inchresting. funky little mages.
Favorite relationship
Hmmm okay so like obviously Thistle & Marcille, but also as seen in my story idea I want to explore more of Thistle & Laios bc their interactions were fun, soo... I'll just say the Dungeon Lord quartet as a whole. I like when people draw art of them all together. Let them bond through shared trauma. And also all of them have tried to kill at least one other person there at some point. It's great. They should go on brunch dates.
Favorite headcanon
This post about Thistle's goal to eat a meal with Delgal fundamentally rewired my brain

amaya and claudia??? please elaborate :D
Ah okay so I started it forever ago (and still have plans to finish and post it) but Amaya, as Callum / Ezran's aunt, Sarai's sister, & Harrow's friend ("You knew him as well as I did," Viren claims in 1x05, which - Implications) would've come around the castle a decent amount, seemingly living there before her sister's death. Which means she would've also known Soren and Claudia as they were growing up.
We see Amaya interact quite warmly with Soren in 3x09, so it made me wonder if she had any reservations about Viren's children (in general, or in being friends with her nephews). And we also know Claudia and Amaya experienced a pretty defining loss around the same time (Claudia's mother left, and Sarai died) and of course, Claudia would also have grief over being separated by her brother and not by her own choice(s) - at least in S3, and in her own mind. Therefore:
They are the protectors, the walked aways, the left behinds. The sisters who kill. The sisters who survive. Not knights, not mages or queens, but soldiers.
Additionally (I've said this before and I'll say this again) in terms of political views on elves, Amaya and Viren (and Claudia) by extension are all pretty much perfectly aligned in S1. Amaya has worries about the Breach, just like Viren; Amaya buys the blood drinking story, which Claudia also cites (and is probably who Callum learned it from); and both of them (implied in Amaya's case) being so anchored and surrounded by death for most of their lives, with Amaya as a soldier/general and Claudia as a dark mage. And even Amaya's view and experience (again, don't think Viren would've been so outright harsh with it) of Moonshadow elves being the worst ones specifically (in spite of fighting Sunfire elves for most of her life) perhaps reinforcing Claudia's view of "What are you waiting for? She's a Moonshadow elf" being the only reason she needs to justify having Rayla dead.
So yeah, doubly fascinated by Amaya being the one outsider adult that's still alive that can remember Soren and Claudia's childhood, yet sees none of their transformation into who they're becoming in Arc 1, and then only has to acclimate to / deal with their respective fallouts. The fact that now Amaya and Claudia have both fallen in love with elves, spent the timeskip in Xadia, etc. furthers their parallels further, so that's very exciting to me.
I'm never expecting the show to really have them interact in any capacity, but I'll be hollering if they do. Maybe eventually they'll be in the same frame or scene together? That'd be neat.

🔫 chrysie. thursday. syllk.
(In reference to this post)
It's interesting you picked these three because they're some of my most underdeveloped characters XD And for good reason, in each individual case. But you asked, so you shall receive.
Chrysie There's not too much to say about her, unfortunately. She's a blatant self-insert (which I still get embarrassed about occasionally) and sometimes I draw her in place of myself when applicable. I purposefully didn't create her with much lore because I'd rather focus my efforts on developing my actual characters. So the only real lore I can provide is that she lives in a fairy colony in the mountains and helps gather resources for her village, while also exploring the area and interacting with various animals - and sometimes humans. Mountains are my happy place, so it's obvious why I went with that location :>
Thursday Hoo boy, how to explain this seagull child's history...I don't even know how you found him to begin with, since he's so far back on my art blog XD While Thursday's story has been on the back burner for a long time, he was actually my main focus when I created him back in high school. I was obsessed with birds at that age, especially birds that most people disliked or found annoying, so it all started when I thought to myself "What happens if bird + boy?" I eventually ended up piecing together this shred of a story about a journalist named Melissa who lives in a small coastal town and stumbles upon a so-called seagull boy (AKA a boy who both resembles and has the mannerisms of a seagull). It's revealed that the seagull boy has an injured wing, so Melissa helps nurse him back to health over the course of 2 weeks, while simultaneously nursing some of her own wounds and forming a sweet bond with the quirky son she never had. I was very intentional about making Thursday annoying and loud and messy, which explained why most beach-goers didn't enjoy his presence. Thursday purposefully remained underdeveloped because I wanted the story to be simple and focus on the main character's emotions/reactions more than any sort of backstory they arrived with. I also always imagined the story would best be told as a visual short story or comic, and one of my friends had planned to illustrate the script at some point, but plans changed and it didn't happen (which is totally understandable). Thursday's story still means a lot to me, especially since it was the first time I 'finished' planning out an entire story. I hope one day I might be able to see it come to life...but until then, I'll simply hold onto it.
Syllk Syllk (tiefling sorcerer) was my most recent dungeons and dragons character, before I ultimately left the campaign to prioritize mental health and other important stuff. She was a ton of fun to play! But much like Chrysie, she doesn't have too much lore. Syllk's whole gimmick was that she completely lost her memory and washed up on the shores of Candlekeep, where she met the rest of her companions. The only item on her person was a sealed book, which she believed would help restore her memories and locate her parents. My very first legit D&D character had been easy to play because he acted a lot like me - so this time I wanted to challenge myself to play a character on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Which is exactly why I made Syllk to be sassy, morally gray, quick to anger, and overall just a little gremlin. Near the end of the campaign, Syllk unlocked her book and it led her to a strange laboratory...and there she faced off against a powerful mage, who claimed to have stolen her away from her parents and experimented on her. Syllk was so angry that she aided in killing the mage, but the anger faded once she realized she'd probably never be reunited with her parents. Thankfully, one of her party companions Karliah (tabaxi monk) had been inching closer to Syllk as a surrogate mother, so Syllk decided to stick with her for the time that followed.
I hope these answers are sufficient...I honestly don't know if I described 'lore' rather than just threw random info at you X'D Regardless, enjoy :>

Dragons Dogma 2, a game of triumphs and disappointments. It took me about 80 hours to finish the game to satisfaction and I am wholeheartedly looking forward to any DLC expansions. There'll be some spoilers relating to end game and the story, so be warned.
Despite being called Dragons Dogma 2 it's not a direct sequel, but more like a soft reboot where we're going through the story of the Arisen in a different world. There's a lot of familiar things, and some new things to surprise you. Once again the games selling point is the combat and awe inspiring monster encounters, the gameplay experience this game offers feels so unique to it. How you deal with the monsters and various tasks with your trusty companions the pawns, who love oh so much to chatter on.
Honestly I still love the pawns. I never tire of their prattle and I genuinely do love being reminded of a ladder or a chest over yonder several times in a row. I'm serious, it's charming, just like being reminded that wolves hunt in packs. The pawns feel even more lively in this game with witty dialogue, and they always seem to have something to say relating to whatever you're currently doing. They're given so much personality that it's hard to believe that they're just mere "pawns", meant to be commanded by the Arisen.
The feeling of exploration and adventure is impeccable. The world is big, but not too big like in some open world games. Every time you set out it feels like grand journey and I would plan what route I'd take and what sidequests I'd take on. Camping was also a wonderful addition, because tackling monsters has never felt better after a good night of sleep. I do wish there were more unique locations like the Dragonbreathe Tower, or the Forgotten Battleground. Less caves with saurians and more interesting locations I say.
I found the side quests to be very fun as well as they seemed to be more than just go gather stuff. There was always a fun story or a mystery to solve. Not every quest is equal of course, but I do appreciate the effort they put into them. And some quests feel more "natural" as you can overhear a conversation and the quest starts once you talk with the relevant NPC. Although many quests in this game start by strangers walking up to you asking for help.
I love Dragons Dogma 2 because it's Dragons Dogma. But I am also disappointed, because essentially it is just Dragons Dogma again. It wasn't exactly the sequel I was hoping for that'd perfect everything from the first game. It is strange that most things that were off in the first game are exactly the same here. DD2 just feels like DD1 with a bigger world and some new monsters and changes to vocations. There are many of the same monsters, NPC's still aren't that interesting, the main story is rushed, the dragon barely shows up etc. From here on I'll talk about story related spoilers and end game stuff.
The story is just weird. It starts off interesting with the false Arisen and the Queens plots, but then it just stops. The false Arisen shows up at the end and you fight him and boom, he's gone. You don't confront him, you don't talk to him, nothing. The story feels like it comes to a sudden end once you reach Battahl. You do a few quests and suddenly a colossus shows up, you beat it, then you follow the weird mage dude and the dragon shows up and it's already the end of the game? Doesn't help that most of the main story missions are just awful. They have you sneaking around the castle for most of it, and the most interesting quest is the one where you sneak into a village of thieves looking for the identity of the false Arisen. I was just expecting there to be more to the false Arisen and the Queen? Same with the empress in Battahl. You interact with her like once, and then she has a few sidequests unrelated to the story.
The end game was also a little weird. I liked it for the new monsters you got to fight and the new loot you'd find, but I was so hoping for a big end game dungeon like Everfall. Going through the world again and looking through all the areas where there was water before just isn't interesting. I tired of the end game rather quickly, and didn't feel like farming or looking for all the gear that there was to be found. The games true end is one big interactive cut-scene where a super dragon shows up and you don't even get to fight it. I still had chills throughout it, but c'mon. Why design a cool colossal dragon like that and not make it the pinnacle boss of the game?
I was also expecting more new monsters in this game. They bring back almost all the old big monsters, and the few new ones are really fun, but damn I was hoping for more. Minotaurs were a fun addition, they felt natural like the cyclops'. The Medusa was also a fun fight and it's so cool that you can cut hear head off and use it to petrify enemies. Sadly you can only encounter her in one location in the game. She does respawn though. The Sphinx is also unique, but only an one time encounter. I failed one of her riddles so she fucked off and never got to fight her. Yay. My favorite new addition was the Dullahan, such a cool monster. A ghostly knight that carries their own head in their hand. Although even this one was super rare, I did not fight a single Dullahan in the main game. They became more frequent in the end game.
The two new brine monsters you fight in the end game were awesome as well, but man why did they have to be one time encounters! That's the problem. They have new monsters, but they're either super rare or you only get to fight them once. And don't let me get started with the small monsters. The only new small monster is the slime. Then you have like 5 different variants of the same monsters. Everywhere you go it's goblins, harpies and saurians. But in different colors! Oh look we got lightning saurians in the end game! Wowzers. Skeletons, zombies and bandits are there too. I just really wanted a lot of new cool monsters to fight in this game and not recolors.
There are also some nitpicks like most of the best gear in the game you just buy from NPC's. You do find some unique gear in the world, but they'll be quickly replaced with store bought equipment. Even in the end game. There are some armors that can only be found in chests there though, which is nice. I really hated the more "realistic" movement where your character would slow down and start sliding down even the smallest hills. Pawns talking to you as you're passing them is tedious too. I always threw them off a cliff if they did that. Enemy frequency was also quite annoying. You can't walk two meters without running to a pack of enemies.
I think I've written enough and complained a plenty. Dragons Dogma 2 was a really fun and enjoyable experience, but not the experience I was hoping for. The game stands in a weird spot for me, as I do really like it, but at the same time wish it was so much more. I do hope that Capcom makes a big expansion for this game, because if they do I'll eat it up like a freshly cooked beast steak! And oh, look over there Arisen! A ladder! Maybe an adventure awaits up above.

Thank you for everything!
Thank you for being here with me for these years, but if you ask me, i prefer my works to have an end of some sort, so i guess... this is one? Time to archive the blog now, have a final drawing.
Tumblr media
I have more thoughts under the line (ideas i couldn't do, plans, sorrys, thoughts) but i leave it to your choice if you want to read them or not If not, well, thank you a lot for following this blog about this silly snortman i still love with all my heart <3 - Rami
If you are here, well, hi…there's a lot I want to talk about this project but foremost…
- I'm sorry that I wasn't that active near the end - I'm sorry that I left many things unfinished - I'm sorry for those people who had hope for this blog to come back to life - I'm just… sorry for everything else you felt against me and what I've done
But now is the end, and that's all I can do now, say sorry so…
Let's talk about ideas I wanted to do but I couldn't
College decided to eat me and spit me out, and I'm still trapped in there.
So that mixed with some self-doubt and long silences, it made me never follow upon ideas I wanted to do
Let's start with the snow storm plot, with the mages disappearing and hyn befriending Williams the waddle dee.
The idea was for hyn to meet the mages again, who have left "in secret" to find a new place to live near castle dedede, and for there to become this thing where the mages and hyness decided that it would be better for them to live separate, but still visit time to time, as the idea of them being dependent of each other would have hit too close to the whole Void Termina Revival thing. But also was this thing of Hyness being aware that he isn't that alone, and locking himself inside this house in the middle of nowhere would not help against the guilt he had left.
Him leaving that home in search for his girls was proof that he has some will inside him still. Befriending Williams (who was supposed to have this side plot of wanting to be a psychologist) was a way to open up and let himself pay and let go that guilt he had, and start again…
… Is messy, I know, but was low-key inspired by things I'm still dealing with personally
Other ideas were: user interactive events, more Morpho Knight shenanigans, a more developed plot of Hyness starting a new life by moving nearby the waddle dee village Willians lives in, many things related to forgiveness and if people wanted to do so or not…. Just… many ideas related to moving on and letting yourself be allowed to exist and all… As you can see, I really love hyness, and he had some really important things that I related in a way or another…
And, well, kinda related to that…
All my thank-yous' and thoughts
- Thank you for being here - Thank you for interacting with this blog - Thank you for letting this bird draw and ramble and just theorize a lot about this character who was hated by the time this blog started - thank you to the people I meet and talked when I made this account
As my second "Thank you" says, Hyness was disliked a lot at the time I made this blog, and I felt alone in liking him, so that evolved into many drawings and ideas and such…. And made this ask blog in response (and because ask blogs inspired me a lot in my time in Tumblr)
There's a thing tho, by making this blog, I met others who liked Hyness like me, and also felt alone in such feelings
And I befriended them, and I talked to them, and I meet them,
And they told me how much of an inspiration my blog was for their own works and AUs, heck, I was told they started caring for and loving Hyness thanks to me
My blog left a mark on people… I left a mark on people
That's a huge honor
So letting this blog just…rot in an eternal hiatus or silently archive it…that's not good enough so I wrote all this as a way to show my thanks, and as a way to confirm to myself "Hey rami, you finished a project for once, proud of you" Which is something so big after many unfinished projects and ideas that I've started…
So again… thank you so much for being here, for reading this, for letting me do something that started only for me… god I'm crying
Man…
Well, this blog is now archived then, but I may be still around if you see me (tho probably talking about monsters that fit in pockets, or dragons with puzzles and gachas, or these silly virtual livestreamer people, or … well… Kirby)
If you see me around, I'm open for a Hi or Bonjam or whatever, I may still be learning to become more sociable and letting myself be open with what I like but … a greeting may not hurt much? O well…
Jamanke, Jambuhbye!

I just found your magic shop series and really love it. I can't stop reading it till I finish it and just now did I scrolled through your blog to see about the update. I guess that means you're planning to update part 2 around halloween time. Welp, as long as you're updating, I don't mind waiting. Also, personally I found the moodboard for the last chap was the giveaway that Jimin is a hunter. I saw the quiver of arrows and thought.. oh he's gonna be a hunter. And then reading through the chp just confirms it. The only thing I didn't expect is for him to be antagonistic. Though I'm sure he'll come around, just that Jin's introduction seems pretty mild compared to Jimin. But Jimin also doesn't seem to express hatred for mages so I'm hopeful he won't be too cruel; unless he also wants revenge for his parents. Thank you for writing, I'm gonna check your other fics
Hello, hello ☺️ I’m glad to hear that you like the series!
Yes, I’m hoping that I can start Pt. 2 in the fall. I wanted to give myself a small break and work on some other story ideas. I definitely felt burnt out toward the end of Pt. 1 🤧 But I’m currently happy with the project I’m working on now, and I hope I’ll be able to post it soon ☺️
Tbh, I was a bit worried that the arrows would give it away, even tho Jimin isn’t an archer in this story 🫢 But they were also supposed to represent Cupid’s arrows since the statue in the mood board is Cupid & Psyche lol
The main difference with Jin and Jimin is their experiences with mages 👀 Jin has been told that they’re all bad news, but other than Adriel, he hasn’t really met a mage that’s turned Wicked. Y/N is one of the first mages he’s ever interacted with. Whereas with Jimin, who’s family hunts them, he knows they’re bad news. But he genuinely likes the mc. So I guess we’ll see 🫢
Thank you for comments! ☺️ I hope you like the other fics as well once they come out!

skyrim paper anon here, this was for my Modern Interfacing class in our vr module so i got to call out how Todd Lied when making the vr version vs how he lied differently for the special edition it was fun. also realized that all the examples i gave of interactions within the game are about stealing shit so we'll see what my 70 year old prof thinks of me after that. btw drop the link for the fic it sounds fun!!
that sounds like a really interesting comparison! i've never played anything in vr but surely skyrim is up to the task for a seamless player experience! i did give in and get the special edition when lockdown first started and i had to glitch through a door by holding a plate at one point bc the quest was broken :) Todd... he's truly one of The Liars of all time XD he will never outrun the tell me lies video edit. "it just works" sir it does not.
the fic isn't finished yet but i'll definitely make a post about it when it is :) and it'll probably wind up on my ao3 (friendly_ficus). the premise is basically Hieronymus Lex's No Good Very Bad Day. a glimpse at the offscreen prologue:
hero of kvatch: wait. you want me to steal hrormir's icestaff
methredrel: yes. this is part of five simultaneous thefts designed to sow chaos throughout the imperial city. it is absolutely vital that you complete this mission so we can get lex out of our hair. are you up for the task.
hero of kvatch: hrormir's staff. the icestaff. the icestaff of the former arch-mage, hrormir. the one that's leaning against the wall gathering dust in the current arch-mage's quarters.
methredrel: yes. this mission is dangerous, but outcry from the mages guild is vital in our plan to destabilize—
hero of kvatch: let me go get some robes. i'm about to be hilarious

Funny how most of my predecided plans fail once I start listening to characters, and once I allow my PC to settle on a personality after their first few interactions.
Emerencia Cousland was a warrior, because I figured it'd easier to watch out for the tank if I was the tank. Having a heal mage is nice, of course, but I can chug potions too. She was eager to get fighting, just shy of her 18th birthday. She was hushed to stay and keep Highever. She was discouraged from even speaking to Duncan. She was urged to find a husband be a good wife. She didn't want to marry a nobleman. She hated Rendon Howe from the moment I laid eyes upon his face, and wasn't particularly fond of any other one, either. She was polite, but kept her distance.
And then everything went to shit. Her dear father and her brave mother died, her brother lost and she was forced to flee. And than Duncan saved her. Or so I thought. She was eager to join, because she had nothing to lose. After the Joining, which was a disaster, she felt betrayed. And if that wasn't enough, she was made public enemy number one for trying to do the right thing. But she couldn't get answer from Duncan anymore. She couldn't turn to Alistair, because he was barely any more experienced. She stumbled into the most haphazard band of misfits and befriended most of them. All she ever wanted was a peaceful life, where everyone could tolerate ther others and problems could be solved through words first.
Thrn, her past acquaintance with Alistair evolved into friendship, then interest, then love. She knew it would have the potential to hurt both of them, and so must he, yet neither of them stopped.
I always replied what I thought fit her mindset. This lead to Alistair remain unhardened, and thus not wanting to be King. So she didn't make him. He was on the fence, she could've push him either way, but she only wanted him to be happy. So I kept Alistair a Warden, despite I started a Couslanf so I had a chance at all to be Queen. Then I throw it away. Was it a good choice? Perhaps not, because this will mean I'll see Alistair again in that quest.
Then, Alma Hawke. How do I unpack her? I made a rogue, because I wanted to open the locks myself. In all honestly, I still entertainrd the thought of a Fenris romance but that would mean either making Fenris OR Emerencia grieve later and I didn't want that on him, so I jumped on the first time he declined my interest and called the matter finished. Which left me with my original, more tragic intention. I made a purple, pro-mage Hawke and relentlessly teased the apostate. I befriended him before Act 1 wrapped up.
And then that ominous kiss scene happened. I'm not gonna lie, I love a vocal man. I love touch starved man. And I love two idiots against the world relationships. So I dug myself deep, deep into Handers pit.
I originally planned to have them break up or have her kill him, but the more they interacted, the more I saw everything unfold, the less and less control I had. I said to myself ig Hawke feels it was anything personal she will act like it. And it was nothing like that.
So I spared him, saved the mages and they are supposedly on the run together.
Which is bad, because now I have choose between sacrificing Alistair and taking the last thing that keeps any light in Emerencia or sacrifice Alma, and let Anders loose with the possibly most devastating reaction any DA2 LIs could have.
And there's also the very much existing friendship between Emerencia and Anders. Either of them loses their other half, the other would feel bad about it.
I briefly considered leaving Alistair there and my cognitive functions shut down. There's no way I'd do that.
So, Emerencia will have a very bad timr trying to console Anders, and then trying to shelter him and possibly stop him from doing any harm, himself included.
Then, I was halfway finishing my Trevelyan when Kiddo reminded me I promised to make an elf. So, I backtracked, made a Lavellan anf named her Tünde. That's a valid Hungarian name, equivalent of Fay, used for elves in fantasy translations. Oh, and she's a mage.
There's no way I romance Cullen after that. I don't need another layer to this rollercoaster. Can you imagine the added bonus to all this package? No, let's stick to something of the original plan by going yet again for the Warden.
Or go Egg. That's a tragedy on its own.

I know I posted like two days ago, BUT I finished up Cullen’s POV of my ‘Destruction of Lothering’ Chapter and I figured I’d share it. I honestly felt bad for him. For like a second. Warnings: Torture
He was silent as he stored the letter addressed to Trevelyan’s mother in the small chest full of Elliott’s scarce belongings. He volunteered to pack The Knight-Corporal’s things to send them back to Ostwick as the other Knights tended their duties.
He hadn’t left the Templar quarters in days. It was the only place where he felt peace after the mages returned from Ostagar. Rumours grew legion among them— whispers of the Tevinter’s disappearance and Trevelyan’s desertion. But Cullen knew better. It was a ridiculous assumption. Elliott didn’t abandon the Order— he never would. He was proud to serve the Chantry and the Maker.
The memory of his last interaction with Elliott pressed into the forefront of his mind. He remembered reporting the Tevinter’s frequent excursions with Amell to Trevelyan after the Harvestmere celebration when he saw them again. He remembered Trevelyan’s eyes narrowing, jaw clenching.
Are you certain of this, Rutherford? I saw them, Trevelyan. We must to bring this to Greaigor’s attention. And why haven’t you done anything about it?
Elliott narrowed his eyes as Cullen paused and cast his gaze downward. He didn’t want to admit that his curiosity of her got the best of him. He didn’t want to admit that he floundered in his duty in favour of his desires.
Andraste’s ashes, Cullen. First Surana, now the Tevinter?
Cullen’s expression soured at the mention of the elf. He didn’t mean to kill her.
You said you wouldn’t speak of her again. I cleaned up your mess when I disposed of her body for you, didn’t I?
Trevelyan scoffed, and ran his fingers through his golden hair before folding his arms over his chest.
Look, Irving will do anything to protect his precious little mages, especially that Amell. Informing the Knight-Commander won’t solve your little problem. What are you going to do, then? What you should have done. Greaigor mentioned that she’s going to Ostagar, as am I. She will be dealt with.  You aren’t going to kill her, are you? What I decide to do with her is none of your concern, Rutherford.
Cullen gritted his teeth as he closed the chest. He wasn’t sure what Trevelyan was planning, but it was obvious that it didn’t work out in his favour. His mind began to reel with the many possibilities regarding his disappearance, and each conclusion centred around the Tevinter’s hidden malice. Her seemingly innocent nature, soft-spoken words, and doe eyes— it was all a façade.
And Amell’s betrayal of the Circle in favour of another blood mage became all the more clear as Cullen recalled his departure just a week following hers. It was far too well-timed to be a simple coincidence. Their passing of notes, longing gazes at one another... their meetings in the caverns. He didn’t think much of it, then. Now it all made sense. She planned the perfect diversion right under his nose. And in spite of his actions, that weasel still managed to evade punishment for his crimes under the protection of the Wardens.
What wickedness did they plan together against the Order? Was a demon lying dormant within her this whole time?
Distant screams echoing from the stairwell interrupted his thoughts and the air grew cold. Hurried footsteps ascended, growing louder from behind the door, and Cullen’s eyes widened. The door flew open, and he watched as the Knights clamoured, pouring into the quarters.
“What’s the meaning of this?” Cullen exclaimed.
“Uldred has gone mad! They’ve all gone mad!” A Templar cried, slamming the door shut, “Abominations lurk within the tower!”
Cullen’s heartbeat drummed in his ears as blood rushed to his head. His stomach lurched in fear as he heard more shouts resonating from behind the door. The Templar Hall was in complete chaos as the Knights scrambled to barricade the door with bookshelves.
The Knight-Templar quickly rushed to help them. He braced his palms against the sturdy wood and pressed against it with all his strength as he gritted his teeth. The gargantuan bookcase groaned before it toppled in front of the door with a deafening crash.
“There’s too many of them— This won’t hold them off!” A Templar-Recruit sobbed. He was only eighteen.
“Get ahold of yourself, Uriah!” Cullen barked as he clasped the boy’s shoulders, “Remember your training!”
“Where is the Knight-Commander?” Cullen shouted above the rabble.
“Greaigor sealed the doors in the apprentice quarters,” Another Templar answered, “Dieter and I tried to get out, but he refused to open up!”
If he’s already sealed the doors then that means...
Heavy thumps could be heard from behind the bookcase, and he realised more people were attempting to get in. He wasn’t sure if they were mages or more Templars and his stomach twisted once more.
“They are coming!” Uriah whimpered.
Cullen gripped the hilt of his sword, fighting the urge to shiver. The sharp ring of steel reverberated as he unsheathed his blade, and the other Templars followed suit. He could see them trembling with fear, and the Knight-Templar steeled his resolve.
“Come, now. Let us in,” Uldred’s voice was muffled behind the door, “We only want to talk, dear Knights.”
There was a shift in the air and an eerie hum began to drone. Cullen observed the other knights hesitantly lowering their blades. As if in a trance, Uriah dropped his sword, letting it clatter on the stone. The Templars slowly began to walk towards the door and Cullen blanched.
“What are you fools doing?!”
His exclamation was ignored. Cullen quickly moved towards Uriah, grabbing his wrist. The boy turned to look at him. His brown eyes were wide with fear and a single tear rolled down his pallid cheek.
“I-I c-can’t…” Uriah started, “I must do this.”
A whisper sounded from Cullen’s left. It was soft, beckoning with gentleness.
I know what it is you want, Knight-Templar. Let us in, and we will give you what you long for.
Tumblr media
His joints popped as his body was stretched, and Cullen cried out, miserably behind the dirty handkerchief that had been stuffed into his mouth.
“Now, now, Felicity…” Uldred tutted above him, “We don’t want to maim him just yet.”
The Senior Enchanter turned the wheel of the mechanism, and dread gripped the Knight-Templar’s heart. He could feel his muscles threatening to tear as he was being moved perpendicular to the ground. His weight betrayed his arms, and he let out an agonised growl through the cloth. He clenched his eyes shut and hot tears streamed down his cheeks.
Cullen opened his eyes, breathing heavily as anger rose within him, and he fixed his gaze on the younger mage. His pleading expression went ignored, and he realised that whatever good that existed in her was long gone when her hazel eyes met his, and her full lips curved down into a malevolent scowl. She was always courteous to the Knights, always eager to assist.
He remembered her volunteering to send off the letters he’d written to his family. A kindred spirit, she was. But he was proven to be wrong in his assumptions about her, and the gentle light that beamed through her eyes diminished. All that remained was pure malice.
She was supposed to be good.
“Just kill me.” Cullen whimpered, voice muffled behind the gag.
“What was that?” Uldred taunted, arching a dark brow.
Cullen repeated himself. Mid-sentence, Uldred pulled the handkerchief from between his teeth.
“…Kill me.”
“Kill you?” Uldred chuckled, “No, that won’t do… You will watch as you have watched before, Knight-Templar.” Uldred hissed, grasping his jaw.
Cullen exclaimed as electricity stung his flesh, and his breath hitched. The Senior Enchanter extended his arm in the direction ahead of him and Cullen’s eyes widened in horror as he saw Uriah being freed from the barrier that the blood mages had erected around him.
The boy was delirious, and he swayed as he walked forward before he collapsed.
“Strip him!” Felicity barked.
Cullen’s stomach lurched as three mages crowded around Uriah, and they quickly dismantled Uriah’s armour from his body, just as they had done to him. They ripped his tunic, baring the alabaster flesh of his back and Felicity slid her gaze to Cullen. His bruised lips fell open when she winked, and her mouth twisted into a chilling grin.
Felicity turned on her heel, slowly approaching the others and an elven enchanter handed her the familiar whip that Cullen once saw Trevelyan wielding.
“No! Don’t do this to him, please!” Cullen cried, “He’s just a boy!”
The Templar struggled against the iron that bound his wrists to the platform, and groaned once more, slumping forward in defeat. His entire body ached with hunger and exhaustion.
She ignored his plea as she unravelled the cords. Cullen turned away and shut his eyes before Uldred shocked him again.
“You will watch.”
A crack emitted in the air as Felicity swung the cords. Uriah howled in agony as she struck his back.
“Stop,” Cullen said, weakly.
Another strike. And another. His flesh slowly peeled from his back as the mage viciously flogged him, and Uriah called out for his mother. Cullen’s heart dropped. Many mages had done the same when Elliott and Biff disciplined them. But this was different. It was unprovoked. Undeserving.
Mere minutes felt like hours and Uriah finally slumped forward, and a sick sound rattled in his throat. Felicity pressed the sole of her boot against his back before the boy began to sob.
“Death is too good for you, Ser Knight. I have plans for you.” Uldred released his jaw and stepped away from him.
Cullen fixed his brown eyes to the ceiling and a wave of dizziness overcame him. His skin heated and sweat began to form on his brow. His mouth became dry before a familiar rancid taste coated his tongue, yet nothing came. His stomach had already voided time and again throughout the long week that he had suffered at the hands of the blood mages.
The sound of clinking emitted from below, but Cullen had neither the strength nor the will to turn his gaze. He could feel Uldred’s hands on his ankle, and he realised his shackles were being removed. The Templar felt no relief as he knew what was to come next.

.... ok, layton anon here again (I might just use that as a tag if that's okay? 👉🏻👈🏻)
I literally just typed out a long ass reply and then tumblr decided to crash - but maybe it's a sign to try and keep it shorter (update: i failed)
for the maze runner thing, it was honestly just about the "people appearing one after another without memories" I think aside from that it's very different, especially in terms of general atmosphere. I've read Day 1 too now btw and I loved it sm! I'm really intrigued to see how it continues<3
I hope your meds are safe for you to take and that they help quickly!!
yess him being like shigure would work really well (i also love shigure sm as a unit but that's a different story)
Also imma be honest as well - i'm the same. Birthright is the only one I finished and other than that I'm like almost through with awakening, halfway with echoes and revelations and idek how far with three houses. I think I get too much into strategizing and spend too much time planning out the classes and skills instead of just playing and then I tend to abandon the games for a while...
So since I'm not super deep into the story myself my 3h au isn't that deep. Y/n would take Byleths place, simply because it makes a lot of sense. And then I sorta assigned the units to the houses based on Vibes TM aka Blue Lions - HHU, Black Eagles - Vocal, Golden Deer Tiger - Performance.
I also felt that some characters shared traits or reminded me of members (Linhardt - Han, Ferdinand - Seungkwan, Sylvain - Mingyu, Claude - Hoshi, Ignatz - Hao). But they'd mostly be themselves and not take over the exact role of anyone. I've also have thoughts on classes for some but not for all. I think Woozi would be something along the lines of a General, Han would be a Dark Mage, Hoshi a Hero, Scoups a Swordmaster or Cavalier (or anything else just give the man a sword) and- yeah I think I'll end it here
thanks for letting me share my fire emblem brain rot!! have a good day/night/evening!<3
omg hiii thats absolutely fine!! i didnt want to just assign it to u but thats 100% fine w me!!
its ok i also fail at writing short responses 90% of the time dskfhdsf tumblr crashing during those is awful tho
ooo yeah fair :0 i can def see it!! ive learned a lot abt tmr through posting this fic lmao but im glad you liked day 1!! the fics gonna honestly slow down for a bit purely bc the next 13 parts are each individual members parts and those are honestly just gonna take a hot sec for me to like... be happy w all of them :(
aaa i still havent taken them just bc. anxiety bad! they shouldnt have any bad interactions since they're not a sulfa drug, but anxiety louder, y'know? im waiting until i know family is awake (yes ik its 4 pm shh) in case i need shit
i also love shigure but thats at least slightly bc of my love for m*tt m*rcer as a voice actor sdfhsdkjfh i adore him tho!! thats my beloved!!
i get DEEP in trying to figure out my units tbh i usually end up drafting out my pairings when i play. if awakening + conquest both had the ability to scout out things as easily as u can in birthright + revelations, i would have def beat them by now tbh.
but also i tend to abandon games after a while by accident sdkfhsdfh
i know little abt 3h but i am nodding along and golden tiger makes me happy. its what my man deserves <3
me lookin up these characters and sees ferdinand is confident and hates losing like YEP thats kwannie. i can see a lot of the comparisons u drew!! :0
i can def see general woozi + hero hoshi + swordsmaster cheol + dark mage han!! cheol is getting a sword and thats all i care about actually /j (nah but if i could give him some sort of rally skill, i think he + woozi + hosh would all have one in some shape!! and most likely seok too since booseoksoon leader ykno)
i honestly feel like shua would potentially be a war cleric. can heal you, but can also can Kill.
alternatively for hannie tho he could be thief -> trickster imo?
i honestly feel like vernon miiight either be a cavalier or an archer. its a gut thing tbh i cannot explain otherwise.
u are always welcome to share ur fe brainrot sdkfhsdf this blog is where i share my svt + trsr (+ skz tbh) brainrot now lmao y'all can Always share stuff ur interested in w me!! i hope u also have a good day/night/evening! <3

Racing Development Post
After pitching the initial idea for my racing game, I took some time to develop it further and really work on refining the concept into a completed title. This time, I wanted to have a mostly finished game with all the right assets to match the medieval aesthetic I was hoping for. I decided to add a tutorial screen explaining all of my games obstacles and powerups, designed a screen for when the player loses, as well as a short interactive cutscene for when they inevitably conquer the objective of my game.
The textbook chapter that I was tasked to read for this week discussed the process of playtesting in greater detail. There was one notable section which caught my attention, that being the Play Matrix. It made me think about where my game currently sat on the Play Matrix, and whether it was positioned where I intended it to be. My intention was for my game to be positioned horizontally in the middle, while leaning slightly more towards physical dexterity than mental calculation, though still with a bit of strategy required to beat it.
After working on my game for a while, I had planned for it to undergo some playtesting, however, I had a family emergency the day prior and was unable to attend the playtesting session. So, I asked a friend to help playtest the game, and they gave me some good advice regarding some of the features in my game.
The most notable piece of feedback was that the game was as difficult as they had expected, easily dodging all the obstacles and completing the level on their first attempt. To remedy this, I increased the spawn rate and movement speed of the player to make avoiding the obstacles more challenging. Furthermore, they commented how the 'Mage' powerup I had designed was far too powerful, giving the player too many benefits for zero downsides, including increased speed and complete damage immunity for 5 seconds, and with no limit on the number of times it could be triggered. In response to this, I massively lowered the 'Mage' spawn rate, added a 15 second cooldown to the ability and added a new obstacle, the Spike Trap, that would defeat the player regardless of whether they possessed the mage powerup. Furthermore, they noted that the 'Mercenary' and 'Farmer' were identical in that they both dealt a point of damage to the player. To remedy this, I increased the damage dealt by the 'Mercenary' and caused them to inflict a debuff on the player called 'Adrenaline Rush' that would increase their speed at the cost of making the game more challenging. Finally, I made it so the 'Adrenaline Rush' debuff could be removed by a 'Mage' powerup, and also added the ability for them to heal the player for a single heart.
The feedback from this playtesting session helped me to refine the interplay strategy between the powerups and obstacles that I had in mind when I was originally designing the game, and in the end, my playtester agreed that the game definitely felt more balanced than before.
Unfortunately, the video of my game playthrough is too large to be uploaded to Tumblr, so here is a quick screenshot as well as a YouTube link to a video showcasing my game: https://youtu.be/T0vHCfHsmqc
Tumblr media
Next up will be a post discussing the post-mortem of my racer, and a bit about Assignment 2 before I move into working on Assignment 3. Until next time!

Good evening, vampire hunters.
It was Gelliewich’s lucky day when he stumbled across two pots of gold during a stroll through the highlands surrounding Galicia. Thinking that he hit the jackpot, he stuffs his pockets with the riches he could carry. But when there are lone pots of gold, there’s a huge chance a group of leprechauns have set up camp inches away because no one just leaves a cluster of gold coins free for the taking. Just as soon as Gelliewich filled his pockets, Pwcca stands behind him with his wand handy, threatening to take the optimist hostage. His group has cornered July and an earth mage fifteen minutes prior and though they’re putting up a good fight, a lone leprechaun has them outmatched. The mage’s novice sorcery could not topple his opponent’s aggressive slashes and wolf-like thrusts. Gelliewich smiles, arms himself with a gilded sword he brought with him, and knocks Pwcca to the ground. If there’s anything he loves more than riches beyond his wildest imagination, it’s a good fight. The earth mage, noticing that the battle gained a participant fighting for him in July, gets the confidence to launch a boulder the size of his fist at the leprechaun, bringing him to his knees. Pwcca stands up and raises his wand toward Gelliewich just as the mage ran to his side. It won’t be a short St. Patty’s Day battle, but have you ever known Gelliewich to complain? ;) Photo by Dmitrii Shirnin on Unsplash.

We’ve made some final changes to The Heliotrope Chronicles Book 1: Scars of the Past. The hub world has gotten an expansion to include interactions with Frederick’s compatriots and a new area to make room for a tribute to my late brother painted by my sister. These interactions may not spoil much of Episode 4, but it is recommended to play through the previous levels before exploring the new hub. Siegfried Croes has carved a handful of diamond-shaped gems for you to find in order to enrich your gaming experience. They’ve been previously added to Son of a Hustler Book 1 to challenge your platforming skills and we plan to add them in future updates to older installments. Photo by Jonathan Larson on Unsplash.

Hang on! We’re not finished with The Heliotrope Chronicles Book 1!
That’s correct. Frederick and co. still have much to do in Baudelaire City before they flee the country. Unfortunately, the game’s executable has become too big to fit the upcoming levels and as a result, it takes a while longer for it to run. To ensure that it won’t overload your PC’s memory, we decided to split The Heliotrope Chronicles Book 1 and larger installments currently in development into four-episode volumes. Volume I may have concluded and it ended on a good note, but there'll be plenty of time in Volume II give the Veiled Nocturne a swift kick in the rear.
Thank you for supporting the Heliotrope Journey series as always and we hope you enjoy this new hub. :)
Sincerely,
WN

TL notes, to be worked on and edited as I get to it.
The 12 trolls were all BloodSwapped.
Our version of Condy was The Absolute.
The Absolute was found out to be invading the planet to cull everyone soon, so a plan was made to get everyone to God Tier, steal her ship, and either incapacitate The Absolute or trick her somehow to be stuck on the planet while everyone got away.
Nepeta Peixes' lusus was a catfish who was premade or infected with the purpose from the Absolute to kaboom the planet along with everyone on it. However, Nepeta was able to calm down unconsciously due to being a Witch of Heart. That was the reason for The Absolute showing up in the first place, because she just kind of assumed catfish was killed or died somehow and wanted to finish the job.
Everyone either committed seppuku or had help from someone else to God Tier and Nepeta went last, leading to the catfish explosion and killing The Absolute.
All the trolls then journied on the stolen ship, which was also powered by a miniature green sun. (Gasp)
Gamzee Megido, Maid of Rage.
- Capable of seeing and communicating with dead Lusi, was raised by ghost Lusi.
- Never really had a hive, mostly sleeping in trees. This made him always have leaves and twigs in his hair.
- Didn't have a sopor slime issue, wasn't a high blood.
- He usually wouldn't speak unless asked something. When asked why he was so quiet he just said he had nothing to say.
- Kind of calming to be around, he smelled like nature, would listen if you needed to talk, and was really good at getting people to let out their sadness or frustrations just by having people rant to him.
- Nobody, excluding Vriska, knew who he was or even that he existed until Kanaya located him had blank save him before the catfish planet explosion. He developed strong platonic feelings for her after this and was pretty much glued to her side after this.
- Went through depression for a long period of time because his ghost Lusi friends couldn't follow him to the ship. Extreme nihilism and through this time he got into a pale relationship with blank.
- Technically had the telekinesis kind of abilities that canon!Aradia had but never trained or used them for combat.
- Acknowledged that he was in relationship with Vriska for a long time but refused to talk about it at all.
Feferi Nitram, Page of Life
- Was either friends or in a low-key relationship with Aradia and Sollux, especially after leaving the planet and working on the stolen ship together.
- She was mostly into building steampunk or mechanical engineering type of things. Not good with technology based things like computers and had to be convinced to have a computer to chat with everyone on by Aradia.
- Able to communicate with and creatures like canon!Tavros Nitram, but barely utilized this.
- Had one of those "I'm just being honest!" personalities, unfortunately.
- Was on good terms with Vriska prior to her crisis.
Kanaya Captor, Mage of Space
- Pretty sure she was in a red relationship with Nepeta.
- Had the ability to know the approximate distance and direction other trolls were. This was used to locate The Absolute and by coincidence found out Gamzee existed.
- Really good at tech, computers, and all that jazz.
- For quite a bit of time she was overwhelmed after God Tiering, just having this constant gps or compass to everyone. But eventually she was able to learn how to tone this out. Nepeta also naturally helped due to being able to calm her down.
- A big introvert, usually would rather text/message someone than talk on the phone and really would rather do anything but talk in person.
Terezi Vantas, Knight of Mind
- I really didn't know much of her background or her involvement in the catfish planet explosion. I met her a few times on the ship and found myself unable to really interact with her for long.
- She did always have a blindfold on, I don't know if she was actually blind but I don't think she was.
- Roleplayed with Eridan and was on very good terms with him.
Tavros Leijon, Rogue of Breath
- Was very feminine with long hair, I don't know if Tavros identified as something other than male or was just feminine. Then again trolls and their view on gender is supposedly different than humans even if that wasn't really shown in the comic that well.
- Wasn't allergic to cats, actually had a bunch of them. Probably too many.
- Very friendly, very social, way too social for me. But strangely enough was actually very liked by the other trolls for the most part with the exception of Karkat and Vriska who did not like Tavros at all.
- Not physically fit like canon!Nepeta was. But wasn't weak. Just average.
- Kind of close to Equius. I don't know to what extent, but it did seem to be maybe pale?
Equius Maryam, Sylph of Void
- Really good as a healer unit. Instead of just healing your wounds, he just made them disappear. If it was something bigger though, like a lost arm, it would produce a kind of void prosthetic.
- Still had a horn broken, but it had a void prosthetic. He did not have the shades though.
- Really nice and friendly overall, probably the exact opposite of canon!Equius.
- Dressed in loose, elegant, probably expensive clothing.
- May have also been some flavor of gnc or not cis like Tavros.
- Still insanely strong.
- A bit obsessive about making prosthetics. Bordering on creepy obsessive. He wouldn't hurt anyone. But he would be very happy to offer his services if you were ever to lose a limb.
- Close with Tavros after making a prosthetic limb for one of their cats. Apparently Equius liked to ramble and info dump.
- Liked to sew and was really good at it, but he was weirdly embarrassed about it. Not the prosthetics thing though.
Eridan Pyrope, Seer of Hope
- Very chaotic. High energy.
- Flarpd/Rpd a lot as a mafia boss, no I'm not kidding.
- Was best friends with Terezi, and proclaimed that she was his right hand.
- Kind of flirty, but if you said no he would immediately back off. Apparently never tried to flirt with Terezi, even as a bit/joke.
- Somehow was able to bring his movie collection with him. Yes, they were all mob, mafia, gangster related. Although he did have one yakuza movie for the sake of "cultural appreciation".
- Still took a lot of pride in clothing. I believe he commissioned Equius for his suits.
- I don't know if he met the midnight crew but he would probably lose his mind if he did.
Karkat Serket, Thief of Blood
- Ugh. I have really complicated feelings on Karkat. Because while I feel bad for him, I also platonically hate him.
- Had manipulation abilities, but to what extent I don't know.
- His lusus tried to kill him early on, but died doing so. Karkat becamed convinced that his lusus infected him with a Curse. This curse made him see blood all the time, not a giant amount. The walls would have splatters, he would smell it if he thought about it too much, and would hear blood dripping.
- The Curse wasn't real. It was never real. Like the tell tale heart, it was all in his mind. But he refused to believe this, even when confronted by Gamzee who actually talked to his lusus, even when confronted by Terezi who could tell this was an affliction of the mind.
- Felt like everyone was pitying him, to be fair, a lot of the trolls did not help with this whether they wrote him off or tried too hard and came off as patronizing.
- An incident happened where Vriska had used Chucklevoodles on Karkat, and it made him stop being afraid of the Curse. It didn't make the blood go away, but it made him stop caring about it. This made the two of them become friends and started off their garbage fire of a relationship.
- Helped Vriska with her plan (tm).
- He wasn't manipulated by Vriska nor was he in a subservient role to her. It was very clear that while the relationship was bad, very bad, there was no power imbalance.
Aradia Zahhak, Heir of Time
Wip
Vriska Makara, Bard of Light
- Was said to have been very quiet and apathetic by Gamzee prior to her crisis. The two were probably red based on what she has said and Gamzee didn't refute this.
- Her bard crisis involved seeing the "Truth", seeing what dwelled in the furthest ring, what they knew, what they didn't know, and came to the belief that the only way to bring the prosperity of everyone was to doom the session. To end the game. That the universe was vast enough and that everyone can make their own world, their own future, without the game. She was going to null/void the session. Think Ult!Dirk, fighting against fate/canon.
- It is suspected that our version of doc scratch caused this, however. Our doc scratch's goal was not to bring about Lord English.
