How do you think dr. Ratio views awards and things like that?
I personally think he wouldn’t like participation awards but im not sure about awards people worked to get(i think he’d be fine w/ it I guess?)
I actually think he’d be all for participation awards, although I guess it depends on the person.
If someone genuinely worked their ass off and still got 4th place, imo he would 100% believe they are deserving of a reward, because Ratio doesn’t want perfection out of people, he wants them to TRY
As for a “you show up you get a reward” kinda situation, I still can’t see him caring all that much, because well, participation awards are pretty lame and only ever mean something if you did put effort in. Unless it’s some insane prize, but even then Ratio recognizes the value of goods and a prize like that could really help someone. Most of the time when people show up to do something, it’s not for some random participation award anyways, and I think that’s what he would really give a damn about in the first place.
Idk, I just can’t see him caring all too much about those kinda rewards, or even having a reason to hate them. Ultimately, they aren’t the make or break reason for people trying their best, so I don’t think it matters all that much to Ratio.

a concept. to consider.
what if. what if there was a Remember Them reprise after the Thunder Saga.
"We are not to let them die in vain" except he's the only one left so it's "I am not to let them die in vain."
and there's no backing chorus of his men. because. they're all dead.
and the line takes on a whole new meaning now that he's the one who chose to let them die.
(not in vain. it can't have been in vain, it can't have been for nothing. i have to see her. i have to see her, because if i don't make it home, those men died for nothing. the ends always justify the means. i can justify anything as long as it ends with Penelope and Telemachus both in my arms again. but if it doesn't-
but it will. it will. it has to.)
and our-
...
-and my comrades will not die in vain...

one of the funniest things bk moon ever did was make you believe lloyd was Gone™ by having javier be all wistful and yearning about his old master convincing you that this is an old heartbreak that never healed right and that he's still mourning him centuries later. only to then reveal that not only is lloyd alive and perfectly okay he's literally one phone call away. javier can literally just pick up the phone and have a direct line with him any time he wants. he's just being dramatic about not being at his side 24/7 like he used to. it's so fucking funny asjkhksfjs
