Oh my god guys. Please. Yes art is obviously gonna stay alive but again. Artists are already losing jobs over ai. Please. Oh my god. I hate when people go "yea but people will still value actual artists!"
OBVIOUSLY. BUT ALSO. ARTIST ARE LOSING JOBS. COMPANIES ARE REPLACING ARTISTS WITH AI GENERATED BULLSHIT BY STEALING WORK OF OTHER ARTISTS.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD-
People aren't afraid real art is gonna die people are afraid they're going to LOSE THEIR JOBS

AI GENERATED APOLLO JUSTICE HAS HIT GOOGLE IMAGES THIS IS NOT A DRILL PEOPLE
if you can’t tell this is /neg because fuck ai and oh my god it’s UGLAY
This was found after a quick google image search of “Apollo Justice” btw! It’s right there in the daylight!
more deets into why I’m 99% sure this is ai below!
This is the image’s source, coming from a site called “civitai.” Civitai is an ai image sharing and developing site. They say so themselves. (This is the biggest reason please stop here if you don’t wanna hear nerd shit)
The hands are unnatural and off-looking. This is a common problem ai has when generating images. His fingers squash together and others are spread too thin and look too fat.
The uploader has made tons of other ai generated character images, INCLUDING other ace attorney characters like Desirée DeLite and Verity Gavèlle (they used her new name too, so they’re active as well). They even have published guides on how to use advanced coding to create similar pictures. A lot of their images, suspiciously, also use similar backdrops.
In these images, his vest has five buttons. In official art, his vest only has four buttons
His bracelet is literally SQUEEZING his arm my god is there any circulation in his arm at all
The second image especially makes him look like a “handsome” romanceable character in a mobile dating game
His bracelet has a seemingly completely random pattern (leaves??), rather than its usual eye pattern

Since I didn't make it into the top 300, I may as well post it. This was my entry for the Pokemon TCG competition. It's not my best work, I acknowledge this, but the condition my hands were in forced me to use digital art when that is NOT my bag. I didn't want to bleed all over my entry.

A post was shared on Twitter and subsequently here on Tumblr of a painting which looked an awful lot like Din Djarin as a medieval knight, so I just wanted to share a PSA for anyone who has shared it: Unfortunately, it is AI.
I was curious myself about its origin so I used search by image on Google and it led me to this post on Pinterest where there was the following comment:
This is in an Ai generated image. I recommend looking at artwork created by Edmund Leighton, and Sir Frank Dicksee if you want the real thing. I suspect their work was probably used to prompt these amongst many romantic era painters and 80s fantasy illustrators. 😔
AI is now getting scarily realistic. We have to be really vigilant about not sharing the art to prevent it from invading our spaces. I totally understand how in the moment, you think "This is amazing wow! I must share it!" but unfortunately there is a growing possibility that you unknowingly shared AI art. I have done it myself and felt horrified after, that sinking feeling is awful. This is not a call-out post, just to raise awareness of how good AI is getting and ideally, always checking the source of any art you engage with.
Please, PLEASE do not attack the person who originally posted it on Twitter or anyone who reposted it here. I can't imagine it was intentional and most people, once the fact that it is AI generated is pointed out to them are rightly horrified.
Anyway, this whole debacle led me to looking up the art of Edmund Leighton and it is PHENOMENAL! So, I thought I would share a few here to get your Medieval Knight Din Djarin fix from someone who toiled away for hours, hunched over a canvas to perfect their craft:
Edmund Blair Leighton (1852–1922), God Speed (1900), oil on canvas, 160 cm × 116 cm. Private collection.
Edmund Blair Leighton (1852–1922), Conquest (1884), oil on canvas, 122 x 76 cm, Private collection.
Edmund Blair Leighton (1852–1922), Vanquished (1884), oil on canvas, 51.4 x 76.8 cm, location not known.
(I also found this article where you can see more of his work and read a bit about him!)

You cannot claim to be anti-AI while still actively seeking out and using AI.
Once again.
You cannot claim to be anti-AI while still using generative AI, no matter the reason.
(Bold/italicized text: You cannot claim to be anti-AI while still using generative AI, no matter the reason.)
Even if you’re just using it to make fun of it or show how bad it is.
Even if it’s only for your personal use, and you don’t plan on sharing it with anyone.
Even if you’re “just” roleplaying on Character AI.
If you are willing to justify your usage of a system created and profiting off of stealing from artists and writers, a symstem that is destroying the Earth, then you were never as “against that system” as you think you were. Being anti-AI isn’t something that exists only in name. You can’t claim to be against AI if you are willing and able to use it as soon as it benefits you. You can’t say you’re for writers’ and artists’ rights if you’re using the very thing that is causing them harm. You can’t claim to care about climate change and saving the Earth if you are participating in the system that is destroying it.
There is no middle ground here.
There is no “Oh, but I-“.
If you have the knowledge of what generative AI is doing, of how it is hurting people, and you choose to use it anyway, you aren’t against it. You aren’t fighting against that system, you’re upholding it.
You can say how much you hate AI and how horrible you think it is, if you choose to use it anyway, then your actions and your words are not lining up, and the former reveals so much more than the latter.
Stop pretending like AI is something you can condemn only in name, while using it to your heart’s content in your free time. All it does it tells writers and artists that you don’t really care about us, and that any actions you claim to be taking to protect us are performative at best and lies or even outright malicious at worst.
You are—and I mean this in the kindest way possible, even with the fury that generative AI invokes in me—a complete and utter hypocrite. AI is not your friend. It is a tool, and it is a tool that steals from writers and artists in order to function. It is a tool that is using levels of energy and emitting amounts of polution in order to be maintained that are actively damaging the Earth. No matter how much you try to justify using it to yourself, that doesn’t change.
Stop hiding under the guise of being anti-AI while continuing to use it yourself.

Hi yall, a lot of sites are being a little too AI-friendly so I'm now on Cara! It's anti-AI and there's a portfolio feature if you wanna get a little more professional
I'll still post on Tumblr but I'll be most active on my new Cara account. As for insta and twitter....idk whether to post there anymore, I might keep putting my dislyte stuff there since there's not enough dislyte stuff anywhere but this whole using-posts-to-train-AI thing is really making me uneasy
