I'm going to post another hot take here and be mean. Fuck people who make ai covers, I especially hate how popular they are in the Sekai community. Even if you say "please support the vas" it's still so disrespectful?

If tumblr sells text posts to AI they will be poisoned forever because this is the site of absolute derangement. We are so good at disinformation and violence that any text AI will collapse into a singularity of nonsense, because otherwise they would have to manually go through EVERY single post and mark it true/untrue. no algorithm is useful for this

So, AO3 has a block button. If I ever get a comment that someone has put my unfinished work into an Ai program to get an ending, they’re getting blocked because they clearly don’t deserve or even want my writing. They just want a story, they don’t care who wrote it or if it’s made from stolen scraps of other people’s hard work.
If they can’t respect my writing, they don’t deserve it.

that person who got ai to ‘complete’ keith haring’s Unfinished Painting reaffirms my belief that the AIDS crisis desperately needs to be taught about in schools

Remember when that one story came out about the guy who used a bot with Chat GPT to auto generate responses on a dating app, which ended up with him getting multiple dates scheduled with multiple women, all of whom were unaware that they had never actually been speaking to a person? And how everyone understood that what the man did was horribly mean, dishonest, and inappropriate? And that those women were being lied to?
That’s how I feel whenever people post ai “art” without disclosing its AI. It’s deeply shady, unkind, and dishonest.
Like yes, ai “art” often can’t be distinguished from human art (especially if it’s about generic popular subjects that give the machine tons of material to steal from.) In the same way, Chat GPT often can’t be distinguished from human writing, especially if it’s generic common conversations like a first introduction.
But it matters whether something is created by a human, even if you can’t tell the difference between the final products. How something was created matters! Whether there was human intent and meaning behind it matters! Even if you can’t tell the difference between the final products, the ethics of how something was created matters!!!
A man on a dating app typing “how are you?” In order to ask how you are…..is very different from a bot meaninglessly generating the letters “how are you?” Because it’s statistically the most probable combination of symbols to use. Even if the sentence is the same, the way those sentences came to be matters!! And it will affect how you respond!
And the same is true for visual art.
I hate AI but If someone’s going to play with these tools, fine, no one can stop them. But i think you also owe it to people you’re sharing the generated images with to tell them whether they’re interacting with the creation of a human being or with the algorithmically generated product of a machine.
Otherwise you’re wasting people’s time and care. It means the people you lied to will waste time exchanging polite conversation with a mindless bot they think is human, or praise the art style and brushstrokes of an image that wasn’t created by a person. And that’s just,,,,sad. You can replace art with mindless bots or whatever but at the very least, people deserve to know whether they’re actually interacting with other people.

How dare you touch this art piece with your filthy ai bullshit
Tumblr media
For those of you who don’t know this artwork was made by Keith Haring and was called ‘Unfinished Painting’, It’s a final piece that the artist did before passing away from AIDS-related complications in 1990.
Tumblr media
“The painting serves as a touching statement about a life cut short at the tender age of thirty-one, by an illness that the state was doing little to treat or prevent”
To use ai as a way to “finish” his art piece is nothing but desecration of his art and a spit to his grave.

I just love how we collectively reject and hate ai art because we know there's nothing human about it and henceforth it shouldn't be accepted. :D

Why would you want this? Why do you want people to endanger you or your life or your children? AI has made much worse than this. It can make CP and zoo content. It can make false rape accusations impossible to prove false. It's not just about stealing from small artists anymore. It needs to be stopped.
Tumblr media
This is purely for protest purposes. These images are not real and are meant to show how the tiniest bit of editing skills can ruin someone's life or cause a lot of issues. Please do not edit these photos to look real or imply they are real

I'm getting so sick of seeing AI generated everything online. Bland and boring ChatGPT generated text blurbs. Cringey and unintentionally terrifying AI art made by people who can only draw stick figures that steals from real artists. AI generated influencers run by some a team of insufferable tech bros out in a super gentrified neighborhood in SF that have 100k followers on Instagram. Terrible AI generated music that's only good as a meme (ex. Spongebob Squarepants sings "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson). AI being infused into everything. New smartphones with AI generative pre-trained transformers. GROK being added to Twitter/X. Search engines being enhanced by AI.
To quote Wikipedia's definition of the Dead Internet Theory
Timothy Shoup of the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies stated that, "in the scenario where GPT-3 'gets loose', the internet would be completely unrecognizable."[14] He predicted that in such a scenario, 99% to 99.9% of content online might be AI generated by 2025 to 2030.[14] These predictions have been used as evidence for the dead internet theory.[10]
Looks like Mr. Shoup might have a very good point. I just didn't think it would happen so fast.

I think Hannibal would hate AI ‘art’
He’d recognize how soulless it is, that it’s uninspired and bland, and when he finds out that ppl are STEALING from artists, artists that Hannibal enjoys, to make this lifeless media, he tracks them down and cannibals them
Be like Hannibal, don’t support ai art

I’m seeing so many people posting about glaze and nightshade and webglaze all being difficult to access and how frustrating that is which is valid!!
The answer is Cara!!! They partnered with Glaze and have their own web browser for running it and it doesn’t require jumping through hoops to gain access like WebGlaze. all you need is to make an account and BAM you have access. The one drawback is that they don’t have the bandwith to do it quickly so it can take a couple hours, but it doesn’t kill your computer to do so!
Here’s the link and i wish you all a happy glazing and ai ruining❤️
Also to opt out of tumblr forking over your content to train ai, you have to scroll past settings down to the bottom and click Visibility. It took me ages to find it as all the posts i found saying where to find it said it was in blog settings. Kinda feels like they’re intentionally making it hard to find…
