fun fact: "cherub" likely didn't originally describe a little angel baby -- it comes from the hebrew word "keruv" which, in jewish mythology (according to my rabbi mom, anyway), is much more like a sphinx: an angel with the front half of a lion, the back half of a bull, the face of a human, and wings!

so here is my doodley little cherub creature... with a lamb in back instead of a bull! and with rosy cheeks and a halo too, to be like modern depictions of cherubim for fun. my mom just recently learned what a furry is and said if i were an animal i'd be a cherub (mainly because of my mane-like golden hair)... she might be right!

and yet...also...the sadness of crocodile not knowing his own child is such a concept to me ??

Like..he could’ve given up his baby because he felt no love for it…or at least no attachment strong enough to warrant sacrificing his life plans. He agrees to carry the baby to term but gives it away before he could overthink his decision, telling dragon the child was his and his alone and therefore it was dragons choice on what to do next. For crocodile the choice was clear, the path was set, and he refused to play mother. it was only a blip in his plans until it all comes back at marineford.

or maybe he /did/ love their child but he feared for the baby’s safety...he trusted it with anyone but himself because his life was bound to bring trouble. Dragon was dangerous too but he was fighting for freedom and he claimed to have a plan so crocodile agreed blindly.

or maybe crocodile had the baby unwillingly taken from him. “for the greater good” sorta deal; doing things for the baby’s sake but not on crocodile’s terms. a rough goodbye and the assumption that he’d never know or meet his baby. perhaps he simply woke up and found his baby already gone, already taken “somewhere safer”, or lied to and told that the baby didn’t survive.

No matter the situation, he doesn’t let it take over his life. He accepts it and tells himself to move on. He never even gave the child a name; there’s nothing for him to grieve. Once Ivankov changes crocodile’s sex then it all becomes a part of the past; he could never be that baby’s mother and he pretends he never was in the first place

ShinaDai: high schooler realizes he’s gay (TM) and has a secret crush on the only classmate that treats him fairly and friendly, does a silly little academic sacrifice for him. Then never really forgets him and seeks him out years later (Limbo between Y0-Y1 and Y5)

MasaDai (yes its main, fight me): majorly pissed 20something year old emo punk old outta juvie meets another majorly pissed 20something year old emo goth and manages to rizz his insecure ass with natural charisma and being fair and nonjudgmental towards anyone, and they hate their dads (multiple) and listen to Pierce the Veil together or sth idk. Masato abruptly ends contact after the New Year Accident and resurfaces years later as a damn politician with a wrongly placed hate towards all yakuza (Kiryu-in-prison-limbo and Y7)

RyuDai: not really deep feelings but more like ‘oh god this fucking guy I hate him so much I can’t stop thinking about him and his huge tits’. Literally ‘I’m both intimidated and aroused’ when fighting the damn dragon. Big confused someone help his gay ass (Y2)

MineDai: quite frankly needs no explanation, but ye, undersocialized man with fucked up philosophy on life meets someone who’s… nice to him? doesn’t want anything from him? their interactions are not transactions?? GOD OF A MAN I’LL DEVOTE MY LIFE TO YOU. Meanwhile Daigo, being just over 30 years old and placed in a very stressful position almost all alone becomes smitten with this awkward dude that’s like the only person his age he can be close to in this hellhole. Textbook example of skinny love as Daigo probably kept overthinking what if he mistakes just platonic feels and loyalty for romantic affection and quite frankly wonders if a Chairman should date a subordinate. Mine probably didn’t even realize what he was feeling was love until near the end of the game or/and didn’t even attempt to make a move because he considered what he was already getting from Daigo to be more than he deserves anyway. Then cue the shooting and the rest is history yadda yadda (Y3)

she acts JUST like luffy. same mannerisms and everything. not as “empty headed” or frivolous but you get the idea. confronting, loud, blunt, selfish to the point where she’s extraordinarily selfless, etc..

she’s an international big-time con artist who steals(pirates) from local corrupt, rich leaders of different islands through her sea voyaging. she rarely uses the money for herself, but for the purpose of gifting it to the poor people who really need it. it’s a robin hood allegory. she’s very bright and quick-witted. and beats people up if they deserve it most importantly

traveled usually with friends from her home village and sometimes new people met venturing. unironically, very good wayfinder. she can navigate extremely well even without the help of her best friend, who was their ship’s navigator. she did this for 10+ years. the government wishes she would explode.

garp is more or less angry about this but mostly because her bounty would only continue to rise. meaning it’s dangerous. at that point, he’s like “oi sole !! fine! whatever she can handle herself i guess. it’s not like i can stop her !” it’s so funny to me, he can’t control his kid, his grandkids to come, or his son in law who just so happens to be the most wanted criminal in the world 😭 no one listens to him. i’m sure he feels crazy. most of his aiga are considered criminals.

may or may not be a devil fruit user. probably not tbh.

i figured since oda keeps insisting that luffy looks just like garp when he’s young and when he’s older, i thought yeah exactly ! luffy’s the spitting image of his mum too.

her and dragon met on her island when they were young. i’d say around the age 14-16. when they married many years later, dragon took her last name for reasons iykyk

before they married though, her and dragon went voyaging as well. they did many revolutionary missions/undertakings together. even before dragon named the endeavor a “revolutionary army.” this was the beginning.

dragon developed feelings for her and of course, it took her a long while to realize this.

luffy’s mom knows dadan. she’s an old friend of hers. wink wink. this is why garp is familiar with dadan and trusted luffy (and ace)with her.

i’d like to think(i DO think) they gave luffy over to dadan for safety reasons if we’re being honest. this is why luffy probably never saw his biological mom.

i like to paint luffy with a bit of pink in his eyes, a feature his mom and his grandpa garp, and previous maternal family members inherit. notice how gear 5 has pink-reddish eyes too !

after luffy was born she doesn’t scheme as much. things happened. with her bounty it’s not safe to stay in one place, but she does get to relax in her home village on every good occasion. she kinda has to play hopscotch between islands so they won’t be targeted.

these are just a couple of ideas i had about her. a little might change later but this is how i feel about her (possible) character. AUGHHH i really wish to expand more on this and draw more of her. i do have unfinished drawings of her in my cloud though. im super busy with college rn. i will post more art of the monkey d aiga (family) when i have the time to !!! i’m SO happy you like how i interpret them 💗💗💗

I want to read this manga. It sounds like dumb fun trash. The main character is a guy that gets stabbed and left for dead and wakes up as a girl in a dragon’s nest. This seems like a manga where you just don’t ask questions; you just turn your brain off and read it.

Also. I don’t remember if Amazon specifically pointed this at me or if it was just on a coming soon list for one of the manga publishers I was looking at. But it’s another gender bender and that is what I go for.

Edit: this might actually be a light novel not a manga. But either way. I am in.

so in the anime version of the namek saga, there was a bit where ginyu stole bulma's body, right?

well... idea:

dark comedy au where bulma never gets it back and is stuck as a frog. but this isn't about that– it's about ginyu, who somehow no one noticed doing this, and is now stuck pretending to be bulma or getting insta-murdered by one of bulma's friends. except he has no fucking clue how to do any of what bulma does

so frog!bulma manages to communicate with him and convinces him to swap with her again in exchange for her keeping her friends from insta-murdering him once they catch on. aware that she might be playing him but also very aware that his other choice is death-by-steadily-increasing-number-of-super-saiyans, ginyu agrees

at which point they realize that bulma simply does not have enough ki for ginyu to use his body swap technique. and they can't risk using the dragon balls until after the androids are stopped. so they're stuck like this. unfortunately, they have this discussion within earshot of piccolo, who gets the lovely honor of being the only person in the present timeline aware that A) the kid from the future is the son of vegeta and bulma, and B) there is a non-zero chance that the bulma involved in said future kid's conception was actually ginyu

anyway i can't decide if it would be funnier for ginyu to pull off a perfect bulma while she insists she would never act like that, or for ginyu to be unbelievably bad at acting like bulma, only for extremely contrived coincidences keeping anyone from noticing. or if maybe yamcha starts getting suspicious and goku assumes he's jealous bc he can sense something between bulma and vegeta, who've been spending a lot of time together ("the woman calls herself a genius but the gravity room keeps fucking breaking" "uhhhhh it's a new product. i know what i'm doing. stop being such a little b–" *suddenly remembers that he has absolutely no way of defending himself* "badman. stop being such a little badman")

funniest idea: somehow no one notices until frieza gets resurrected in super, at which point frieza instantly figures out that it's ginyu based on something really small and absurd.
