the reason ralsei is changing is because of susie
the way he said it, darkners that are based on memories of loved ones can "only appear in specific darkness". meaning, originally, ralsei was kris' memory
and, similarly, gerson was presumably Alvin's?
except. gerson came back. it's the third sanctuary. a different dark world. but he's still here. and why?
because SUSIE remembers him. she wrote alvin the letter from him. she fought him and won and came back to look for him. because now he's in her memories, too.
following that logic, of course ralsei is in her memories too. more prominently, too, each time she returns to an adventure. he strays further from the blurry memories kris has, into something that's both theirs and hers
and, while we're at it, maybe ours, too. we shape him with our choices because we're part of this team too

He's always been in a position where his legitimacy and political standing-#-were never challenged. He didn't have to fight for respect. He was born into this world respected.#For people like Mianmian and JGY who clawed their way up from the bottom...this is a huge deal.#Truth be told I have a lot of things to say about what it means and feels to be in a position where leaving is messy.#There are times where the situation is bad but to leave means that those years of your life will have been for nothing.#That all the other suffering incurred will be fruitless. So you just *keep going*. Because it *has* to be worth it.#Because going back to what you were before is even more terrifying than the hell you are boiling in.#My concrete example for this is post-grad academia.#Because that cohort will have spent over a decade pursuing a goal and leaving means...well...it means throwing away those years.#It means losing (likely nearly all) your connections. It means going into debt you'll never pay off.#It means putting up with some pretty heinous abuse from your supervisor because what are you suppose to do? Leave?#Leaving is for those with the privilege to have options.#And even if you do have options...#Ultimately we would rather love the pain we know than risk the unknown. Hoping it's worth it one day.#With that mindset established; never say JGY should have just left like Mianmian. He couldn't. This was what he dedicated his life to.#He never had the option. Even if it seemed like he did - no he did not. He never conceived this ending ever happening for himself.

what if I was a shitty little oily hacker guy, looking out only for myself. what if I had a small ring of like minded cyber criminals, maybe my friends, maybe willing to stab me in the back at a moments notice, maybe that's what friendship means to us. what if I worked for the feds and the criminals and above all for myself.
what if a world of explosions fell flat with static. what if chosen family spat the same predictable lines. what if I was a hacker, and the world was code. what if.
what if a little old woman fell right into my brain, sweet and useless and real. real real real.
and if I reached out -let the code of my mind fill in her blank spaces- and tasted what it meant to be real.

My piece for the @hotguycalendar!! This insane project was so fun to work on and i am still in awe how this whole thing turned out Fun fact i actually did 4 pictures for this calendar!! haha insane,,,,,, The first one was actually in a really rectangular format. Because i am allergic to reading, i promptly skipped over the part with size requirements and did my thing in a completely different size lol
the first version was more silly than hot lmao I COMPLETELY MISUNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING- okay sooo i had to reshape it to fit the format SO REDRAWING TIME START NOW
OMG IT THE RIGHT SHAPE but well can you see the problem now??? Yeah it was the unfortunate time of finding out about the awful situation with one of the former hc members. the mods were kinds enough to allow me to redraw this in the last second to remove him
I was not sure if i'll be able to finish the redraw in time, so just to be sure I added impulse as a pearl-holder. god his face is scary
BUT I DID IIIT I MANAGE TO FINISH THE PICTURE IN TIME. LAST HOUR LITERALLY,,, THANK YOU MODS YOU ARE AMAZING and the finishing piece looks like this

my favorite type of scene is when all four of them are onstage but two of them are having a conversation for the audience to hear and the other two are silently stagecrafting whatever they want.

#sfth#shoot from the hip#alexander jeremy#luke manning#sam russell#tom mayo#shootimpro#the hobnob affair#clarissa's diy wedding#are there any more from the youtube longforms that im missing i feel like there's gotta be more but i couldn't think of any#it really shows off their chemistry as a group when they're able to fade in and out of 2 separate conversations happening at once#without talking over one another. like i remember doing high school theater and scenes like these had to be meticulously blocked#out on stage. and even with a script there was sort of a rhythm to the way dialogue flowed so that things made sense to the audience#and no one accidentally talked over one another. and also so that there wasn't too long of a pause between lines#so the fact that they're able to seamlessly do this while improving is so cool to me#in the suspicious creme brulee the restaurant scene specifically comes to mind. and it's Chaotic and that's part of the comedy but still#it's so fun and so impressive. anyways another case of me yapping for way longer in the tags compared to the actual text of the post lmao
