Holy crap guys. In two days it will have been three months since I've had this blog (I don't count my blog that I had for a year back in 2019 because I only wrote with like...two Alastors.) And I woke up this morning to hitting my 300th follower.

I'm really terrible at those follow forever things, plus I know they can sometimes make people feel shitty, so I'm not going to do that. But that's like, 100 followers a month. And I am shook.

I know I've done a big sappy 'thank you' to this rpc before, but I'm about to do it again. Thank you all for being arguably the best community I've been in. Ever. I've been writing since I was 11, and while it wasn't as bad and clique-y back then, there wasn't much of a community either. This is the first time I have genuinely felt a community.

Thank you for loving my spider child. Angel means more to me than anything (other than Eddie Kaspbrak and Steve Harrington too but shhhh I've ignored them for months whoops). I am so connected to this character, and I am my happiest when getting to portray him, whether that be through cosplay or writing. I get done on myself, but then I remind myself I still have 76 drafts to do so clearly people want to write with me. It's so nice.

Everyone here is so supportive. All the little dash commentary, and writing on people's stuff. It's a nice change. Interactions have been so limited in past fandoms I've been in, so knowing that we can just comment like we are a big family without people being "ew" about it is nice. Knowing people will actually send in memes is nice. Knowing people will create small stories on the dash is nice. I used to honestly hate one liners, and I still much prefer multi-para/novella, but it's fun to do little silly things. You all changed my mind there.

I still have dupe anxiety and I probably always will, but that has nothing to do with the people on here. It has to do with me beating myself up and worrying that my portrayal isn't good compared to others or that I'm the 'lesser Angel.' But there's such a balance here of being being genuine support of every portrayal, it's so nice. No one really ignores anyone else, which is helping that a lot. I don't know if I'm strong enough mentally to interact with other Angels like you guys do (I see you Alastor orgy or whatever), but at least I'm not having a visceral response when seeing one on the dash. You guys have helped that.

Also...thank you for helping me fall in love with Helluva Boss? I had never really watched it prior (I'd seen the pilot and another episode), but you all write the characters so beautifully that it made me want to get into it. I still haven't finished the series, but I have two cosplans on my list from it (maybe three, who knows). I don't know if that would have happened if I hadn't been blown away by your guys' talent.

Thanks for letting me explore dark topics without cancelling me. I got cancelled unfairly in another fandom (which was a fucking HORROR FANDOM come on now), so being able to write out things and know I'm safe to do so is just such a breath of fresh air. Long post incoming! Did not expect it to get this long but I'm a bit possessed rn

Okay so like, SovAme first because it has the dubious honor of being the first ch ship I was really really into. I see their dynamic as kinda like, they're lonely, you know, the top of the metaphorical mountain is lonely and they're the only two who understand each other, and they hate each other and would kill each other with no hesitation but also they've defined themselves exclusively in relation to each other. Like if you look at the modern day United States a lot of its policies are a hangover from the Cold War, you know, and that's how I see it. They grew on each other during WW2 but they always knew they couldn't get along after. I used to have much more thoughts on this but I haven't brainrotted over them in a while

Alright. WestAme. Hoooo boy. Where to start. What you have to understand is that I'm currently writing a novel with my bestie and that novel started its life as WestAme fanfiction. So that should tell you something. Oh and just to clarify I don't see these two ships as being viable in the same timeline

If I recall correctly, I got into it because I liked GerAme but it didn't have enough weird power dynamics for my taste. I did get the tag canonized on AO3 so you could always go read my three fics, but none of them have any context and the bigger picture is kinda essential to understand exactly what their relationship is like. So.

The way I see it, after the war West was forcibly separated from his sister, right, who was pretty much the only person he had left, and the western Allies were predominantly Not Very Friendly to him due to honestly valid reasons regarding his father (that seems to be a running theme in this family huh). Except America, because he wasn't really affected by the war, so he was nice to West but at first it was mostly politically motivated (containment policy, yk, Truman doctrine, Marshall plan). West never really got paternal affection very much and also he's currently in a desperately lonely position, yk, so he immediately latches onto the older man being nice to him, and America never felt appreciated by anyone before the way West appreciates (revers, practically worships) him, and because he has an ego the size of the earth and no self esteem at all he gets attached to West so it's like this horrible codependent situation where West fuels America's god complex and America ensures West never ever learns to be independent.

Anyways as I mentioned I'm writing a novel which is essentially an AU of them but it's kinda detracted from history proper and my thoughts on THAT are much more coherent so like if you wanna hear me rant about them periodically just shoot me a DM saying "hey this is the WestAme anon tell me about the god novel" and I'll surely bombard you with it for the indefinite future

But regardless yeah I think in both cases I see trust (or some twisted equivalent thereof) and loneliness are a central aspect of their relationships

She can and will hurt you if deserved, but she's also just a lil guy you know? A lil vampire lady who just wants head scratches and cherry lollipops. She goes with Giorno to join the mafia, but it's kinda just because home and school suck and she wants to help keep him safe. She's got a crush on Fugo, which eventually develops into a real relationship later on (when exactly is a difficult question, because I haven't decided wether I want her to get on the boat or not. I have reasons for either side, but this section is long enough as it is...) She's also kind of "One of the Boys" but not in a Pick Me girl way (she and Trish have a very nice friendship :) ). Her stand, Dresden Doll, can essentially disintegrate anything (or anyone...) into an ash like substance, but she doesn't use it after a... pretty traumatic experience of her accidentally activating it.

Izei is my Kars and Esidisi kid, who was in the care of Santana as an infant during the events of Part 2. He, thus, was adopted by Stroheim without literally anyone else's knowledge... oof. Stroheim kept him to have further insight on Pillar Man development, but kinda had a father/son bond but the experimentations and the fact that Izei was cooped up in the facility all day really hindered that. He does end up in the care of Joseph and Suzi Q somehow as a teen though, and becomes besties with a younger Holly. He also joins the Speedwagon Foundation later, around Part 3, specialising in animals. I like to imagine, in this universe, he drops off Iggy to the crusaders. He doesn't get a stand, because he obviously doesn't really need one with his ultimate being ass dad, but he does inherit Esidisi's nifty heat powers (they are mostly used to reheat Joseph's coffee). He's a good, quiet lad, if a little snarky and rebellious at times.

Livia is my Diavolo kid, the product of a one-night stand. Her mother quickly became a drug addict when she was little, to cope with her young and single motherhood and being kicked out by family due to it. She has, therefore, probably had the worst backstory. Taking care of her mother, dealing with the often sleazy and aggressive boyfriends she brought home, living in poverty etc. And then her mother died of an overdose and Livia, not wanting to end up in foster care, ran away and got donuted by Diavolo in the process... but then her stand kicked in. Nine Inch Nails' ability is literal immortality (and also makes wounds heal faster - she can heal a papercut in under five minutes), but she can still feel the pain of everything, she just can't die, so it's not as fun as you might think.

Miel technically doesn't count, as she has no biological or even legal relation to Pucci, but idc lol. She sees him as a father figure anyways, as their dysfunctional family were very attentive in the church he preached at. I'm not sure exactly what role she plays in Part 6, but she is very much aware and on board with his whole plans, as he's one of the two people they trust. The other being a boy named Peter who they have a crush on, and he does reciprocate those feelings but she turns them down. She claims it's because she wants to be a nun and doesn't want to affect that, but it's really because witnessing her parents' terrible relationship really affected her. Their stand, Oh Klahoma, makes them able to disguise themselves in objects like desks and walls while still being able to see and hear.

Jamie is my Funny Valentine kid (even though I despise that man), originally from a separate universe where his wife can have kids and then brought into Part 7 by D4C. He actually really looked up to his dad until he met Lucy Steel shortly after being brought to this universe, which just so happened to be after the... you know. He didn’t look upon him so favourably after that (mmm... yummy rebellion arc). There's also stuff going on before he switched universes, like his dead boyfriend who was also engaged to someone else at the time... yeah. His stand, Achilles, can also see into the future, meaning he can change the future. It's a little tricky, though, as 1) he can't just choose to see the future, they just come as random prophetic visions and 2) he has no idea when these future visions are meant to be, they could be anything from five minutes to five years away.

Kia is my Tooru fankid. Not sure how exactly it happened, but one day a 17 year-old just popped out of the dirt like nothing. They were immediately taken in by a teenage boy who they almost immediately developed a crush on. Unfortunately, he's taken. Fortunately, Kia's stand, "Breaking Glass", allows him to shapeshift. So, he pretends to be the guy's girlfriend. If you feel bad for their crush, I would also like to say that he had a feeling it was Kia the whole time BTW and let them do it anyways... *sigh* men.

And lastly, as a bonus, Concetta! My Cioccolata/Secco kiddo. They should probably not be allowed anywhere near children, but their aesthetic and relationship is fun and I just had to. Concetta was raised by her dads up until the colleseum fight, which she was present for, and the police found her as a newly made orphan at ten years old. She goes through foster care for a couple of years, and then runs off to get revenge on Giorno. Just teenage girl things, yk? Her stand, Brittle Bones, allows her to take off her own limbs and have them still be fully functional without causing her pain... fun!!

Ash was thirteen when a raiding party tried to get into the Melting Pot. He climbed into the branches of the trees and watched, following from above as North picked up his sword and shield, stalked each trespasser like the prey they didn’t know they were, and dealt with them.

North had sworn a lot and given Ash something that he was pretty sure had actually been a chunk of a woodland feed block, but really it had tasted alright and it made sense; North didn’t eat, so why would he have his own food?

Hands shaking, Ash takes hold of his knife as the largest rock is dragged away. The beast looms over him, drooling onto his hair. He squeezes his eyes shut and holds the knife out.

For as much as he had assumed he would be dead a few moments ago, it all seems kind of anticlimactic now. North takes two more swings, ducks under another swipe, and then catches a fistful of the beast’s fur and drags himself up onto its back like he’s climbing a jungle gym. He holds tight as it tries furiously to buck him off, rushing in circles and flailing about. And when it slows to take a breath, North raises his sword in both hands and plunges it down between the beast’s shoulders.

I literally love all of them so much omg. Barzy is obviously like, The Boy Of All Boys, but Turbo is a close second, and I adore Svechy and Seabass too. So any of them would be my favorites, but I love them all!

Whatever you can come up with is wonderful for me! I do love some winter aesthetics but nothing in particular.

I don't want to be too picky or anything but I can give you some facts about me below the cut if that will spark anything in you!

Babylon 5 Rewatch - By Any Means Necessary

This is a post I originally wrote several years ago for Mark Oshiro’s Mark Watches blog. I don’t really plan to edit them before posting, so there may be some references that don’t make sense. If you see words that look like gibberish, they are actually rot13, which was our way of discussing spoilers. There are plugins you can install to decode the text (Cryptext is the one I use), or you can copy/paste to rot13.com, or just ignore it.

I love this episode so much! Just, everything about it is great. The glimpse into a side of B5 we don’t normally get to see, Londo and G’Kar sniping at each other, the showcase of how good a problem-solver Sinclair is, everything. There may be other episodes I would rank higher, but only because of the quality of the show in general. And I think it’s cool that this episode was written by JMS’s wife. Let’s start with the ‘B’ plot. You may have noticed in “Parliament of Dreams” that we don’t get any glimpse into Narn’s dominant belief system. I wonder if that’s because they knew they’d be dealing with the topic here, or whether Kathleen Drennan realized the omission and decided to do something with it.

In any case, this episode is a great showcase of the personal animosity between Londo and G’Kar, and their petty vindictiveness towards each other. Vg jvyy trg jbefr orsber vg trgf orggre. It’s also an interesting glimpse (once again) into a side of G’Kar we haven't seen before. We find out that he has a strong personal faith (despite what Londo seems to think). I like the scene where he asks Na’Toth what she believes. It doesn’t really contribute to the overall plot, but it’s a really nice character moment, and G’Kar gets to demonstrate a bit of a philosophical bent when he tells Na’Toth, “We all believe in something greater than ourselves.” [season 5] Vg’f na rneyl uvag bs T’Xne’f uvqqra qrcguf juvpu jvyy or ba shyy qvfcynl ol gur gvzr frnfba svir ebyyf nebhaq.

And now, on to the meat of the episode.

I just love Neeoma Connelly so much, guys. Even in such a short time, she feels like such a fully fleshed-out character. And Katy Boyer does an amazing job with her. She’s just the right combination of hard-nosed and conciliatory. Delvientos has a smaller role, but I still believe him as a character. You can tell he takes his responsibility for the dockers seriously and he’s good at his job, but his grief for his brother is making him lash out in ways he probably wouldn’t normally. But he’s in the right, and the audience knows it.

Orin Zento, on the other hand … wow, that guy is so smarmy. From the first second he’s on screen, he oozes smarm from every pore. [season 1] Ur’f nyzbfg nf onq nf Zbeqra. Be znlor ur’f jbefr orpnhfr ur’f yrff fhogyr nobhg vg. :) It’s actually the one thing about this episode that bugs me a bit. I don’t understand how this guy can be Earth’s top negotiator. He makes zero effort to listen to the dockers’ grievances or achieve any sort of compromise. He just tells them how it’s going to be and expects them to fall in line (all while being super smug about the whole thing). That’s not negotiating! Then again, maybe that’s what Earth likes about him, and everyone else has been intimidated enough to fall in line. Whoops, looks like I’ve just figured it out.

But Sinclair is the real superstar of this episode. Notice how he constantly plays the role of the conciliator. He treats the problem as valid, thinks about it, does some research, and comes up with a workable solution. He keeps trying to tell people about his solution, but they are too entrenched in their own biases to listen—until he is suddenly given the power, both to implement his solution and to make them listen.

And we see the exact same characteristics in his solution to the dispute between Londo and G’Kar: he analyses the problem, arrives at a clever solution which involves thinking outside the box, and brokers a compromise which satisfies both parties (although notice that he doesn’t tell G’Kar about the sunlight until after Londo leaves the room). Favorite scene: I have to go with the climax of the episode here. Sinclair defuses the situation by basically giving the dockers exactly what they wanted—and he’s been empowered to do that by the very mechanism that’s been held over their heads as a threat for the whole episode. This scene is great, not just because it’s a giant “take that” to Zento, whom we thoroughly despise by this point, but because we all (except for Zento) realize that we should have been listening to Sinclair all along. But mostly it’s the “take that.” *grin*

I sped through getting eight badges and going through Pierce's story by teleporting everywhere and having a few level 100 Pokemon. It still took me an hour and a half to do. I also gave myself a boost with both Souma and Cerise.

I also remembered that I didn't "forget" to remake the winter maps. I was going to wait until I place the updated candidates in place. So I'll have to remake those maps again. Whoops.

Anyway,

-The clerks in Nemorensis' department store's fifth floor will sell you evolution items that are different from the stones the ones in Fulgora will sell you.

-Made the Power Plant look different from the department store in Fulgora.

-I renamed Ludavine in the cutscene where you meet her.

-Added three maps to the Safari Zone. I plucked them out of my Gen 3-styled BETA Johto map that I made when I was getting used to a new prescription, and I cut two of them by half. I think one was going to be Coronet Mountain. (Partially because it was labeled "Mt. Fuji" in the Spaceworld '97 BETA.)

I think that's about it. Other than maybe some minor things with the newer maps I think I'm about ready to test marriage out.

This does mean that I won't have any new downloads for a while. (I will have to restart my game at least five times.) I'll still update my progress. (The things I haven't crossed out yet are either connected to the candidates or are something I have to do immediately before releasing this build.)

Oh, hi there everyone!! Pleath, do not fret, I haven't forgotten about the series. Actually, I haven't forgotten none of them. Work is doing a splendid job at whooping my ass (pardon my french if you will). Between teaching kids English, going to work and hitting the gym at 6 am, I'm a little ～ debordée ～ like French folks say. Anywho, I'm alive (barely making it) but yeah I'm going to dedicate myself to these fics for the festivities period of the year. Merry holidays/ celebrations to anyone who does them this year and also happy new year(quite frankly speaking I don't know if I'll be able to write that much 'cause I'm helping my fam out too with Christmas and whatnot for 2024).

As soon as we got to the airport, a team of men in black take our things.

“We still have a couple of hours ahead before our flight so we’ll take our sweet time right after we do check-in. Is that okay?"

“Good for me."

It’s been a little over two years since I’ve been at the airport. Several changes have taken place. One store catches my attention and I make a beeline towards it. 

There are so many teddy bears here!! I feel like a little kid who’s met with a shit ton of candy.

I touched one and it’s so soft. I would really like to have it.

The shopkeeper asked me:

"Good morning! How may I help you?"

"Good morning. I was just looking around and it looked like the softest material ever."

"It sure is… you’re currently holding our bestseller, the beige teddy bear. The store also has blankets, robes and house shoes in this material." 

"I would love to check them out."

"Please, follow me."

As you’re checking out the items the salesperson showed you, Benimaru snucked inside the store to join you. He watches your expression change from pure bliss to amazement. He seems thrilled by it all, when you put the items down he wonders what went wrong.

Honestly, you’re feeling how soft the materials are. You shouldn’t be adding more luggage to this trip. He startled you when you least expected it.

"Why won’t you get them?"

"Excuse me, since when…"

"I got here a tad earlier. I was watching you doing your thing."

"To answer your question it’s because we already checked in."

"That’s not a problem."

"Oh… really?"

"Absolutely!"

He demands the shopkeeper:

"We’ll take all the items she kept eyeing intently."

"I’ll put them right away."

"Y/n, when you’re with me you shouldn’t be worrying about getting anything. I got it."

Oh, you sound like somebody I used to know… I don’t like this feeling

"Okay, Benimaru. " You quietly added

"Would it be possible to get an extra blanket and house shoes?" 

"Of course."

Benimaru and some of his men carry your bags while you wander from store to store.

"Y/n, I don’t want to urge you but we have a bit less than two hours now. I suggest we eat before getting on the long flight."

"Why are you in a hurry now? I thought we’d take our time…"

"Yes and no. Pick somewhere you’d fancy eating. I trust you."

Brunch

After mindlessly browsing the menu for a while, you decided to settle for 

a savoury buckwheat toast with jamón ibérico, benedict eggs, avocado, and some spinach on top, a raspberry mimosa while he picked a brocoli ricotta salmon quiche with a red sangria to cool him.

"May I have a bite of yours, please?"

"Don’t you have yours to eat, he sharply spits back."

"So, I can’t get a taste?"

"Yes, you can I just thought yours looked better."

Oh, I get it!

"You can have mine too, Benimaru! You just had to ask."

I think I’m ovulating. Benimaru looks so good dressed in a white button up tee with black slacks, some comfy velvet sliders and his cheekbones are sharper than my knife. I want to touch it. I know I should let him enjoy his meal in peace. He can have some dessert too…I mean I can personally provide it to him if you get what I’m sayin’.

"You look really good or I should say," you bit your lower lip "fine as fuck!"

"Thank you baby, I try."

"I’m your baby?"

"You don’t like it, I can stop. Whatever floats your boat."

"No, it’s okay. If I’m your baby, I hope you take good care of me."

"Always the best for you."

My foot goes up and down his leg. I’m testing the waters now. Trying to see if I have a freak with me or not.

He chuckles and says under his breath:

"It’s a suggestion don’t start what you can’t finish. When I’m done with you, you will know better than to do this."

"Do I hear a threat? My goodness, I’m so scared!" You dramatically exclaimed.

Come and get me! 

He finishes his plate and orders a bottle of champagne for himself. 

"What are we celebrating?"

"You!"

"Oh, celebrating me? Why such honour, may I ask?"

"Nothing too crazy, I just got a good feeling this trip will be phenomenal!"

You’re probably right. 

"I’m hungry!"

"Then eat up. You can order anything you’d like."

"It’s not that kind of hunger…"

"What is it then?"

"Don’t play dumb, Y/n! You know what I mean."

"I don’t, Benimaru. You might have to remind me…"

Promptly after I’ve finished eating, Benimaru told his men to look after our stuff while he dragged me somewhere.

"Where are we headed? May I know…"

"We’re going to fix something you broke."

"When did I break anything? I don’t remember."

"It’s not that serious but walking with a hard on in public is uncomfortable."

"What do I have to do with it?"

"You caused it baby. Therefore, you get to take care of it."

"What happens if I opt out?"

"Nothing but I doubt you’d say no to what I want to give you."

We get to a unisex bathroom, he quickly glances around to check if people have followed or keep their eye on us. And he drags me into here.

"Is it a quickie or something else?"

"We’ll see. If I change my mind, you won’t have to do anything."

"Great, let’s get going."

"Right! Boarding is in fifteen minutes."

I actually ended up rereading Back For More from start to finish lols!

I've been having a tough time mental health wise and for whatever reason reading your fics actually helped with my writers block (based on what I thought was physical health/brain fog) and I've been writing sooo much recently I've added like 15kish to one of my WIP and 8k on the other!
