I just randomly want to do this cuz why not.
ATEEZ - Be With You
I legit cried every time I heard this song cuz it was so soothing, so consoling, it felt as though I was hugged by them and their warmth, especially during the time I was at my lowest.
.
ATEEZ - Don’t Stop
Honestly speaking, I didn’t really like this song when I first heard it. It felt... Hmmm... Not my style. Just that. But then. I heard this song in one of the small supermarkets near my house. I was finding for snacks? Or something? I don’t remember. But I remember how I felt when I heard this song there. I was at a phase where no longer knew how to smile, but this song. Istg. Me hearing this and recognizing this song just made me smile. I never expected to hear this song in that place and I just ended up singing “Hey, don’t stop, gwaenchana uri sororeul round and round dolgo dora” the entire while.
This song holds a special place in my heart.
.
Mizuki Nana - Eden
This was so long ago, close to ten years ago. I had my first painful breakup and Nana released this song during then. I looped it so much because of Nana’s vocals and the way she sang it just made me feel... The pain in my heart was being sung out.
.
Mizuki Nana - Yakusoku
This song talks about a promise. This is my comfort song and I still love this song so much. I don't know how to explain but her voice makes me feel that the promises made will never be changed and it's just... Makes me tear up.
.
Miyano Mamoru - THANK YOU
This songs lyrics is basically self explanatory. Idk if there's an English translation out there but basically, he sings thank you again and again to the person who found him, and he feels happy that they get to meet, spending each and every precious day together. It's a very sweet song and it's my favourite song from Mamo-chan UwU

I started with a jdrama called “ Kimi no Hana ni Naru” and was kinda surprised to see Mamoru Miyano in it. But before I saw him I heard his voice and knew instantly that he was Mamoru.
Oh god I already love this drama. But i really didn´t know that he is acting too? My god this man can do everything: sing, dance, act, voice characters. I like him so much.

The Hidden Gem in our Buttholes
And the desire to be connected.
Tumblr media
I know it sounds weird, but trust me on this one.
You might have heard about this anime, and you might have even watched it. If you did, that makes me happy, because not enough people talk about it. The anime in question is "Sarazanmai".
Tumblr media
"Sarazanmai" is a 2019 anime created by Kunihiko Ikuhara (which if you don't know, is famous for creating "Revolutionary Girl Utena"), and jointly produced by MAPPA and Lapin Track. (from Wikipedia)
The story follows three young boys that got turned into kappas by the prince of the Kappas, so they could fight against people's materialized desires and take the shirikodamas from their butts, which is both the desires and the souls in ball form.
Tumblr media
Did you catch all of that? Cool.
Now, I could write about this anime for a good while, but I don't wanna make too long of a post, so I'll try to keep it on the essentials.
As I mentioned before, the director of this manga was none other than Ikuhara-san. If you don't know him, nor do you know about Utena, then allow me to enlighten you. "Revolutionary Girl Utena" is an anime with a good story, interesting characters and, most importantly, symbolism. Ikuhara-san's works are all full of visual (and maybe even auditive) symbolisms; of course, "Sarazanmai" is no exception.
Tumblr media
Imma be honest with you, I can't possibly explain all of the symbolism, either because I already forgot them or they got lost in translation (a translation betrayal, if you would). If you're interested, I highly recommend you to watch this anime. Do it for your own good!
Now, what I love so much about this anime, is not just the weird plot, the symbolism or that Mamoru Miyano does the voice of the blond cop (but I do love all of those). What made me love this anime were the characters: they are so important to the story (and to each other). For an anime that only lasted about 11 to 12 episodes, they really knew how to get you involved with these characters.
Tumblr media
To give some context on the story, there were two sides to it: the fights for the shirikodamas and the daily life of the main characters. I'm going to focus on the latter.
SPOILER ALERT In Sarazanmai there were three main characters: Enta, Kazuki and Toi. (from left to right on the image above) At first, you don't really get what the story's about, but once you get it it's clear as day: they all have trouble connecting to people. Kazuki, the protagonist, wants to connect to his little brother, but can't do it by himself, so he disguises as an idol to make him happy. Enta really likes Kazuki, in many ways; they used to play soccer together, but one day Kazuki stopped and Enta doesn't know how to approach him anymore. Lastly, Toi is a delinquent, trying to survive with his big brother, but due to that style of life, they can't have a normal brother relationship, they grow distant.
In short, the three boys wanted to connect with someone, but couldn't for different reasons. (Side note: each episode's title says "I want to be connected, but..." and they were revealed at the end of the episode)
This anime makes such a good job in making you understand these characters, and not only the three main boys, but also the "villains", which are the cops. By the last episode, you get this feeling of everything coming together, everything being connected.
Wrapping this up, I'll just say again that this anime is excellent, it has great characters, great animation too, funny scenes, the characters sing many times (love it btw), it also has heartful moments and a great finale.
Lastly, I'll once again recommend it. If it isn't clear enough that you should watch it: please watch it. "Sarazanmai" holds a special place in my heart and I don't think it'll ever leave it. SARAZANMAI!
Tumblr media
"SARA...!" "SARA...!" "SARA...!" "SARAZANMAI!"

Haikyuu To the Top New Year’s Online Event! Inarizaki High School Special Team Meeting~ Karasuno Still on to the New Year’s Vibe~ 01/10/2021
The report is late, but still posting this for the record!! It’s long and detailed but the talks were really interesting so please read until the end! I promise, you won’t regret it! I also put Haikyuu pictures for easier understanding (but no seiyuu pics from the actual event besides those from the official accounts).
The event was held on 1/10 but there was an archive viewing on 1/23~24 so I watched it again <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The event starts with a prerecorded video of a mini skit by the voice actors. The video shows the Inarizaki members at the club room at the start of the year (not animated, still images only moving once in a while).
Atsumu: I won this year, Samu! I got more New year postcards than you!
Osamu: But you’re also including the ones sent from business establishments! They don’t count!
Atsumu: Doesn’t matter! They’re addressed to my name, anyway! You’re just a sore loser!
Suna enters the room and they notice that he seems to be happy. Osamu assumed that it’s probably because he got a lot of money from New Year, but warns him that if he spends too much, Kita-san would scold him telling him to save money properly.
Atsumu: Ah! Must be nice to be you, Suna! Because we’re twins, we have to divide and share the money we get from our grandparents! I envy you!
Osamu: *sighs* If I were an only child, I'd get to buy delicious stuff and enjoy all the food by myself!
But Suna clarifies that it’s not because of the money he got why he’s happy, but actually because he got “excellent luck” from the fortune this year.
The twins didn’t expect him to bother about such things, and they said that they don’t actually believe in that because as twins they’re often told to share the same fate.
Kita enters the room and everyone greets him a Happy New Year. Kita greets back and tells them to get ready for the meeting and the practice. Osamu suddenly asks a question before they go though.
Osamu: I heard from Aran-kun before that Kita house’s “ozouni” (Japanese soup with rice cakes traditionally eaten during New Year) is really delicious. Is that true?
Kita: Ah well, it’s made by granny after all, so there’s no way it’s not.
Osamu: Please let me eat that next time!
Atsumu: That’s unfair!!! Let me too!
Kita: *chuckles* Oh, you’re pretty enthusiastic about this, huh. Well, it’s good to properly eat such food during New Year after all. I’ll let you next time.
Twins: Thanks a lot!!
Osamu: Ahhh~ Can’t wait to eat Kita house’s ozouni!
Suna: Osamu, you really do like eating, huh.
Kita reminded them to not get carried away and take care of their bodies. They then go to proceed with their meeting.
Tumblr media
The seiyuu event starts with the Inarizaki members greeting a Happy New Year. They’re also happy that Inarizaki is the main focus of this event.
For convenience, they’ll be referred here as follows.
Miyano Mamoru (Atsumu’s seiyuu) - Mamo
Kabumoto Hideaki (Osamu) - Kabu
Nojima Kenji (Kita) - NojiKen
Shimazaki Nobunaga (Suna) - Zakki
They’re all wearing Inarizaki-themed kimonos for the occasion and showed it off with the camera tilting down to up, focusing on each of them, as they also turned around.
Kabu is wearing a matching arm warmer, which he mistakenly calls “warm armer” (Mamo corrects him laughing), that volleyball players apparently use during games. He also shares that he spent the New Year alone (due to the pandemic situation), meanwhile NojiKen went to the Haikyuu exhibit during the holiday and was really impressed with the experience.
There were also seiyuu events held last year but since the anime was still ongoing at that time they cannot fully talk about everything, but now they can go talk without any hesitation. This is also the first time that the four of them gathered for a Haikyuu event.
Zakki has been open about his love for his team in past events and this time he also expressed that with a full smile.
Zakki: I’m really very happy (that we’re all here)! *cute mini jumping/shaking gestures* Ah, i LOVE Inarizaki! I REALLY love this team, it’s the best! Even if I knew that we’d end up losing, I still felt like we were definitely gonna win.
Mamo: But we did lose
Zakki: Don’t say it!
The MC of the event entered afterwards and the seiyuus formally introduced themselves one by one (they almost forgot lol).
Tumblr media
Karasuno was then introduced. They also appeared in a mini skit first.
Hinata arrives at the gym first. However, inside the gym Mt. Fuji appeared out of nowhere. He was surprised for a second, but then thought that he’d go climb it anyway.
Kageyama enters the scene chasing a flying hawk.
Kageyama: Oy boke! Hinata! Catch that bird! Fly!
Hinata jumped and jumped but wasn’t able to catch it.
Kageyama: Oy! How dare you let it go! What was with those little jumps anyway? You wouldn’t reach it with that!
Hinata asked what was that all about and Kageyama said that the hawk matches Mt. Fuji. And with that, Hinata realizes that the only thing lacking for a good luck charm is an eggplant (“nasu” in Jpn).
Hinata: Kageyama! “Ore ni nasu!” (Tr: “Bring the eggplant to me,” but this is a play on the “Toss to me” line which sounds similar in Jpn “Ore ni tosu!”)
Kageyama refused, complaining about it and they started to argue.
The sound of alarm suddenly rings. Hinata wakes up from the dream*, and heads out to go to practice.
*Hatsuyume - the first dream of the year deemed to be important in Jpn culture. Dreaming of Mt. Fuji, hawk, and eggplant is particularly considered to be lucky.
The Karasuno seiyuus then join the rest in the studio saying their greetings.
Murase Ayumu (Hinata) - Ayu
Ishikawa Kaito (Kageyama) - Kaito
Haikyuu Back to the Top!
The seiyuus selected their most memorable scenes from the season.
Ayu and Zakki apparently chose the same: Hinata’s “Nice receive” scene.
Tumblr media
Zakki particularly loves the silence that follows after the receive, and Kageyama’s “Nice receive” (he claps when it was shown on the VTR).
He loves Inarizaki and really wanted to fight and win with them and felt very frustrated when they lost, but he can’t really help but admire this Karasuno scene. The people who were watching the game couldn’t believe what happened that everyone’s feelings synced and they all fell silent. The silence held so much meaning, he thinks that the events and all the drama that occurred for them to reach this turning point gave the scene life, despite the lack of sound, and it was really beautiful. It’s a scene made by everyone. It also happened that he was at the studio during the recording and he saw how Kaito and the director gave so much thought about how Kageyama would say the “Nice receive” line to Hinata.
Ayu adds that the Inarizaki match is indeed very important to Hinata’s growth and this scene is a testament that Hinata’s path was right, and all his efforts weren’t in vain. He also likes the monologue by Japan National Team coach Hibarida in this scene, saying that Hinata’s life as a volleyball player which would still continue from then on, was acknowledged.
Mamo and Kabu’s chosen scenes were also shown together - Twin’s Quick.
Tumblr media
Kabu chose the last quick of the game, while Mamo chose all.
For the first quick, Mamo especially liked the moment when it zooms to Atsumu. The reverse quick was also impressive.
Mamo: *pointing at the VTR* Isn’t this amazing? This is reverse, you know!
Tumblr media
Kabu still doesn’t want to believe that their last quick got blocked.
Mamo chose all because of the build-up and growth that happened during the match. The quick attack was something the twins just tried on a whim, but their guts, playfulness, and talent were really amazing.
The last quick was particularly memorable to Kabu because Osamu can be seen as the more reserved of the two, and while the twins carry the same thing inside them their approach and expression of things differ. But in the last scene, Atsumu and Osamu gave their all and really synced 100% perfectly.
Mamo adds that the first and last quick had the same lines, but the tension was very different and he really liked the juxtaposition. As the actors they were also carried away and really let their voices go all out in the last one, and he even thinks that Kabu and him synced perfectly that their voices sounded very alike.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, the Karasuno members were also asked for their opinion.
Kaito: Aahhh, no matter how many times I watch it, it’s really amazing. And because it’s the quick attack that we’ve been doing ever since, I still feel irritated, like *points at his face* this area below my eye really twitches unconsciously. That’s our attack! Don’t do it!
Ayu agrees and says that he really likes that last rotation in the game, that if it weren’t for that rotation, if it weren’t Kageyama and Hinata there, Karasuno would not have been able to block that attack. As he also shared in the Jump Festa last time, it’s theirs and they’re the ones who knew it the most so it’s only perfect that they were the ones who were able to stop that.
The next scene shown was the one Kaito picked which turned out to be unexpected to everyone - Atsumu’s happy scenes compilation.
Tumblr media
Kaito explains that they might think that he’s just fooling around, but he actually has a serious reason for choosing this. Kageyama and Atsumu are both setters with similar personalities, they love volleyball, and are very straightforward to their dreams. And while he does like Kageyama’s demeanor, he admires Atsumu’s attitude towards volleyball so much.
Kaito: “I’m having so much fun right now!!” The way Atsumu expresses that, as a human I want to work and live a life like Atsumu who enjoys doing what he loves so much, and is able to openly express it to the world. Atsumu’s way of playing volleyball, those smiles, the voice that holds all the experiences he’s had - i REALLY like them.
Mamo was glad and grateful with the compliment and agrees, sharing that sometimes at the end of a hard day’s work he’s also like Atsumu who’d go tell himself, “Ah! Ain’t today’s me so amazing?!”
He says that Atsumu is so carefree and thinks that there’s nothing wrong with expressing how he feels at the moment, especially when he’s strong because he’s doing his best everytime. It’s the result of his efforts and he takes pride in it. That is why he can express that smile that loves volleyball very much.
The last scene was the one NojiKen selected - Kita’s “Aren’t my teammates amazing?” scene (starting from the “I don’t have any regrets” line).
Tumblr media
While watching the VTR,
NojiKen: Ah, I’m gonna cry..
Mamo: This scene would really make you cry… I did cry during the recording.
Kabu: Aran-kuuunnn T.T
NojiKen: It’s very admirable.. Ah, I really wanted them to win..
Mamo: Ahhhh... He’s the best captain...
NojiKen shared that he was torn between choosing this scene or the scene when Kita got his uniform. During the recording the seiyuus, just like the Inarizaki team, fought with their all, only thinking about victory despite them knowing the end result.
So when the team lost, he really felt so frustrated and if it was him, he’d really want to shout and cry. But Kita-san doesn’t have any regrets, and his choice of words here showing the maturity of his heart really struck him.
NojiKen: Kita-san wasn’t crying in the scene, so during the recording I shouldn’t cry too. But after that, I did cry a lot. I think that in the corners of Kita-san’s heart he was really frustrated but hid it, and when he was left alone, he probably shed tears, too.
Mamo: Ahh, what a really nice talk this is..
NojiKen: So frustrating..
Zakki: I really wanted us to win..
For the next corner, the seiyuus were asked (beforehand) to
describe the Karasuno team and the Inarizaki team in one word.
Their answers were compiled and due to the short time allotted for discussion, only a few answers were discussed.
Tumblr media
NojiKen: Karasuno = Turkish ice cream
They’re like that ice cream that unbelievably stretches a lot which he likens to Karasuno growing and improving consistently physically and mentally. Moreover, when you buy the ice cream, the vendor usually won’t hand it to you right away and you’d keep chasing for it, and just like that, Karasuno is a team that isn't easily “captured” by their opponents.
Zakki: Karasuno = Sticky sticky love volleyball (they were laughing at Zakki’s lack of vocabulary)
Zakki also defended his answer that well, Karasuno is sticky and stretches out too that no matter how far the opponents go they will stick to them persistently. And because they are sticky, no matter how much they stretch out they won’t get cut easily amidst difficult situations, remaining connected. And because they love volleyball, they don’t stretch out in pain, but happily.
Inarizaki = Go go go head-on love volleyball
Inarizaki has overflowing spirits and potential and they always go for any challenge, almost without limits. He thinks that if Kita-san wasn’t there to steady the hold they’d go flying too much and even collapse somewhere. And of course since they all share that love for volleyball, despite the differences they are able to face everything head-on.
Kaito, to Zakki: You’re saying something so good but because of the word choice it gets negated!
Tumblr media
Mamo: Karasuno = comrades; Inarizaki = family
Inarizaki gives off a strong family vibe not only because the twins are literally brothers, but because of the role of each member like one is a responsible parent (Kita), an older brother (Aran), an inexpressive cheeky little brother (Osamu/Suna?), etc, and he likes it. Whereas Karasuno are more like comrades in arms fighting together.
Ayu: Inarizaki = Despair
This team has a lot of potential and it’s as if they don’t have any weaknesses. They can stop the good momentum of the opponent to get back on track, and when the momentum is on their side they also have Kita-san who can prolong that despair. He says that when he first read them in the manga, he was like “it’s impossible to beat them!”
Kaito: Inarizaki = Growth period
Inarizaki is always ever-growing all the while they're having fun, and that road to “ripening” is unstoppable, making this team a formidable opponent.
The next corner featured fortune-telling by a tarot card reader named A.M., which was then revealed to be Ayumu Murase. In private life, he revealed that he enjoys tarot card reading and does it almost everyday. He drew the cards of the other seiyuus beforehand to determine their luck in “battles” this year.
Since this corner isn’t about Haikyuu, I won’t report it in detail.
Basically they were ranked based on their luck, and Ayu explained the readings for each one of them.
Kabu
Mamo
NojiKen
Zakki
Kaito
Since Kaito ranked the lowest, he was given a lucky item - a golden volleyball.
New Year Postcard Pick up Corner
After that, they proceeded to the New Year Postcard Pick up Corner, where cards sent from fans were displayed on a board. This was led by Ayu and Kaito and two cards were picked which contained greetings and questions from the senders.
1st card - Share a moment when you felt like you got hooked on your job again (just like Haikyuu characters did to volleyball).
Ayu and Kaito both answered that it was getting to work in Haikyuu. Kaito expounds that Haikyuu reflects real life as they don’t always win, despite being the main characters. They continue to grow as actors too, and when they get to meet one another in the next seasons they all get to enjoy the new battles they face together.
Tumblr media
2nd card - What do you think is Kageyama’s weakness?
Kaito thinks that Kageyama may be seen as strong but he’s not a perfect setter and is continuously supported by the people around him.
Meanwhile, Ayu thinks that as a setter Kageyama may be seen as smart who is good in studies as well, but then the fact that he’s actually just on the same level as Hinata in studying, is cute.
Tumblr media
M-1/K-1/S-1/H-1 GranPri
The event then proceeds to the “Grand Prix” program, where three selected scene cuts (VTRs) for each character are shown. Each seiyuu would vote which scene they think represents the character best. After the initial voting, they’d engage in a discussion stating the reason for their choice (though because of time restriction not everyone can speak) where they can persuade others to change their votes. After that they make a final vote.
Miya-1 GranPri: Osamu
Scene 1: from Ep16
Tumblr media
Scene 2: from Ep21
Tumblr media
Scene 3: from Ep22
Tumblr media
Initial Votes:
Zakki
Mamo, Kabu, Ayu
Kaito, NojiKen
Discussion: Kabu remembers that he wondered about how Osamu would talk in this scene, as he’s frustrated but chose to say such words. He talked to Mamo about it and since Mamo/Atsumu would strongly say his lines, Kabu/Osamu also settled to assert his point with more conviction (”Let me finish what I’m saying!”).
Since Kabu discussed his experience that way, other seiyuus were easily convinced to change their answer to 2. Though NojiKen states that his favorite number is 3 that’s why he voted for 3. (So yeah, this didn’t turn into a discussion at all lol)
Final votes: 2 - everyone
Miya-1 GranPri: Atsumu
Scene 1: from Ep4
Tumblr media
Scene 2: from Ep21
Tumblr media
Scene 3: from Ep24
Tumblr media
Initial Votes:
Kaito, Kabu
Mamo, Zakki, Ayu
NojiKen
Discussion: Kaito had a hard time choosing but ended up voting for 1. He says that scene 1 definitely gave a strong first impression of Atsumu. He got disappointed in Kageyama because he didn’t get thrilled on his by the book’s way of playing volleyball. Mamo adds that when they recorded this Atsumu really appeared as a strong, mysterious senpai character, and Kaito who watched it, honestly said that he’s scary. Kaito adds that there is more impact because he was on the receiving end of those words.
Everyone was a bit silent and looked like they got convinced of Kaito's answer, but Zakki begged to differ. He says that because of scene 1 being scary, people would wonder what kind of person Atsumu is, and once they see scene 2 they’d understand where he is coming from. They’d see that Atsumu is a very earnest person who goes straight forward to what he wants and has to do. In an instant, all of Atsumu’s appeal/charm as a person, as a player is shown.
Zakki: Won’t everyone begin to like Atsumu because of this scene?
NojiKen was about to defend his answer, apparently he has a proper reason this time for voting 3, but the time limit bell rang before he had the chance to do so.
Final Votes: 2 - Zakki, NojiKen, 1 - the rest
Kage-1 GranPri
Scene 1: from Ep7
Tumblr media
Scene 2: from Ep19 (Kalm Kageyama)
Tumblr media
Scene 3: from Ep24 (Setter Dump)
Tumblr media
Initial Votes:
Kaito
Ayu
Mamo, Kabu, NojiKen, Zakki
Discussion: NojiKen says that scene 3 exhibited Kageyama’s sharp intellect as a setter that thoroughly thinks about the strategy. Kabu adds that with this, he thinks Kageyama was able to get even with Atsumu from the goody two-shoes remark.
Ayu thinks that scene 3 was indeed impactful on the opponent side (that’s why all Inarizaki voted for it), but for a teammate the presence of a ‘Kalm Kageyama’ is impressive as it shows a different side of him when playing so he went for 2.
Kaito finds scene 1 a very important turning point for Kageyama as Hinata makes him a king. A king is someone who can’t exist without his own people, so a king only becomes one because he is chosen. Up to now Kageyama has been nothing but a lonely king, so that act from Hinata for the first time ever officially made him the King of the Court. And from that, scene 2 is born showing a King, and then scene 3 shows that this King can also act like this.
Final Votes: 2 - Kaito, 1 - the rest
It was a surprise that after everything Kaito said, he ended up the one changing his answer but he didn’t give any explanation about it.
Suna-1 GranPri
Scene 1: from Ep19
Tumblr media
Scene 2: from Ep19 (the old man discussing Suna’s ability)
Tumblr media
Scene 3: from Ep20 (Suna wanting to find Kita’s weakness)
Tumblr media
Initial Votes:
Mamo, Kabu, Ayu
Kaito
Zakki, NojiKen
Discussion:
Mamo: 3 is Kita-san’s scene!
Zakki: And 2 is the old man’s scene!
Kaito defends 2 saying that core training is very hard and he looks up to Suna for being able to master that. But when he thought about 1 again, he says that 1 is indeed a good scene and considers changing his answer right then lol. Meanwhile, NojiKen actually wanted to choose 1 but Kita-san was in scene 3 so he voted for that.
Mamo: Well, that was Kita-san’s cute scene after all!
Zakki was about to explain about 1 but was cut by the time limit bell.
Final Votes: 4 - Zakki, 1 - the rest
Zakki explained that he likes 1 but the scene he liked the most was the exchange when Tsukki got back on Suna, so he chose 4. Mamo agrees and teases the staff that they should have chosen to put that scene in the selection instead.
Kita-1 GranPri
Scene 1: from Ep20 (scene cut starts from Aran and Kita going home until this “chanto yannen” scene)
Tumblr media
Scene 2: from Ep20 (Kita analyzing the 2nd years one by one)
Tumblr media
Scene 3: from Ep24 (“I’m a human invited to a monster’s ball.”)
Tumblr media
Initial Votes:
1 - Mamo, Kabu, Zakki, Ayu, Kaito
3 - NojiKen
Discussion: NojiKen continues fooling around by choosing 3 even if he actually likes 1. Mamo says that he actually likes the scene before 1, the moment when Kita-san got his uniform and proceeds to tease the staff again to put that scene instead. But Kabu says that he likes that going home scene, surprised that Kita-san can laugh like that and Aran was also cute for getting confused at what Kita-san was talking about. Kaito adds that scene 1 also shows us the level of friendship that Kita-san and Aran have. Kita-san laughed but Aran didn’t look surprised, meaning that he has seen it before - Aran knows Kita-san’s smile.
Final Votes: 1 - everyone
Hina-1 GranPri
Scene 1: from Ep1
Tumblr media
Scene 2: from Ep13
Tumblr media
Scene 3: from Ep24
Tumblr media
Initial Votes:
1 - Mamo, Kaito
3 - Kabu, NojiKen, Zakki, Ayu
Discussion: Kaito was very hesitant in making a decision again but ended up with 1. Ayu starts the discussion saying that 1 and 2 are indeed very Hinata-like, but 3 left a big impression on him, seeing Hinata become someone who is able to give his teammates a moment to breathe in the middle of a game, showing how much he has grown. He was deeply moved when he read it in the manga and when he watched it in the anime again.
For a moment Kaito wanted to change his answer to 3, but then explains that 1 is the very starting line of To the Top. Because of that, not only Hinata but Karasuno was able to face and fight Inarizaki like this. Mamo comments on a different note. He wasn’t in the studio during the recording of 1 but when he watched it again now, he felt impressed and realized how along with Hinata Shoyo, Murase Ayumu the seiyuu has also grown a lot. That one short scene makes Ayu’s development very clear, for being able to voice act like that. Ayu was so happy and grateful he immediately changed his answer to 1.
Final Votes: 3 - Kabu, NojiKen, 1 - the rest
New Year Postcard Pick up Corner 2
After the Granpri, they went to the New Year Postcard Pick up Corner again, led this time by Mamo and Kabu.
Mamo: Hi! We are Hyogo’s Miya twins!
Mamo reads the 1st card though there was no question, it’s from a mother writing about his 6-yr old son who loves Haikyuu, particularly Atsumu. Mamo is glad and thinks that people of different ages really do watch Haikyuu. Kabu adds that it would be nice if this can actually inspire someone in the future to play volleyball.
Mamo: Yeah, like hearing someone say that because of Haikyuu they became a setter, or a professional player.
2nd card - Do you have anything that’s like Kita-san’s concept of “Repetitive, Methodical, Thorough”?
Kabu answers that this applies to his work as a stage actor where they keep doing the same things properly everyday for months.
Tumblr media
New year’s Play-offs
The next games that followed were more related to New Year but less of Haikyuu so I won’t be reporting them in detail too (also because it’s probably only funny if you get to watch them playing the game). The seiyuus were divided into two: Team Atsumu with Mamo, Zakki, Ayu, and Team Tobio with Kaito, Kabu, and NojiKen.
Tumblr media
Game 1 - Guess the Situation of the First Dream: Sleep Talk Nuance Quiz
Mechanics: One of the members will sleep talk using a random line from the anime. There are four situations given where the line can possibly be used, and out of the four the other members will guess what kind of dream their teammate had.
This game was played 4 times, with 2 turns for each team. Both teams won once.
Game 2 - Two-attack First Drawing
Mechanics: One member has to guess the word that his two other teammates will draw together. The challenge is that they can only draw using one pen stroke or without lifting their pen.
Each team only got one turn, and both didn’t get the correct answer.
With the two teams ending up in a tie, they were both declared winners and the prize is... Kita House’s Ozouni! A Hyogo-style ozouni was prepared for them. NojiKen led the serving of the food.
NojiKen: You have to do cooking properly, too. (“Oryouri mo, chanto yannen”)
Tumblr media
The event now comes to a close. The seiyuus say their
last message to the fans.
Zakki: I hope it was made clear that this is how fun the atmosphere is during recordings. I really love Inarizaki and the Haikyuu team. I will continue to hope that there will be more chances to spend time with everyone again. Please continue supporting Haikyuu from now on too!
NojiKen: Due to the pandemic situation, voice recordings were taken separately, but still this kind of teamwork was born. During these hard times, please watch/rewatch Haikyuu a lot of times and exercise your hearts and mind. Thank you!
Kabu: I have been invited to participate in a lot of Haikyuu events since last year and then for the first time these 4 Inarizaki members have gathered, and I really had a good time. I hope you all enjoyed it too. Looking forward to your support.
Mamo: I’m really glad that I can experience youth again at my age through Haikyuu. With the current situation where the norm is no longer the usual, I’m really happy that we were able to finish and present this Inarizaki match to you, thanks to the efforts of all the staff who have carefully considered how we can work best while taking the necessary health precautions. From here on too, we will continue to bring entertainment to the fans like usual, and I’m hoping that we can work again and act for the future stories too of Haikyuu.
Kaito: Did you have fun watching, everyone?
*answers himself acting as a viewer* Yes! We had fun! Thank you!
Thank you for all your comments! It’s been more than a year since we started working for Haikyuu To the Top and despite all the difficulties brought about by outside influences (particularly the pandemic), I’m really happy that we are here now and were able to say, “That was fun!” with everyone. Let’s keep the flame burning for Haikyuu!
Ayu: As what everyone has also mentioned, the current situation has made me realize more the value of each and every episode we created. Precisely because the normal everyday things have ceased to become normal, being part of a work that can touch people’s hearts when they watch it and make them appreciate volleyball more, makes me feel really proud. I’m really grateful to the staff. Hinata and everyone’s path will still continue from now on and I really hope we can continue to work with this team until the end.
After their goodbyes, NojiKen was tasked to lead the last greeting as the captain of Inarizaki, which is the main in this event.
NojiKen: Thank you everyone for watching us ‘til the end. Thank you!
All together: Thank you!!!! *cute bye bye waves*

And that’s it!! It was a fun fun fun 2.5 hrs event! I’m really glad that despite the current pandemic situation we can still have seiyuu events like this.
I just want to say that I’ve been watching Haikyuu all these years, but unexpectedly, the Inarizaki match is the moment I felt that I got hooked on Haikyuu *cries*
I just really really LOVE Kita-san soooo much, and the Miya twins T.T !!!!
I’m no longer active on tumblr nowadays, so may follow me on twitter instead @harukaja15

30-day seiyuu challege week 1
Hello! My extra long post has somehow made it to your feed.
This is week one of the 30-day seiyuu challenge.
Here is the link to the one I compiled/made-up: https://miniaturestitches.tumblr.com/post/633578545834311680/soive-seen-some-30-day-seiyuu-challenges
I'll try to keep this short and simple (but I might end up fangirling) >>*these are just my personal thoughts and opinions-duh…<<
1. First character voice that impressed you.
Kamiya Hiroshi
He is one of the first seiyuu I knew about.  (The very first anime that I watched in Japanese dub was Durarara!!)  Orihara Izaya's crazy laugh was really impressive.
Tumblr media
2. Voice that is easiest to recognize
Tsuda Kenjiro
This man's voice is so easy to recognize.  Probably because of how deep and guttural(?) his voice is…or maybe just because he gets typecasted a lot?    I can easily tell it's his voice from just a phrase.
The way he speaks usually sounds like his teeth are gritted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh...maybe that’s why...
Special mention: Suwabe Junichi
His voice also has a unique, husky quality.  But unlike Tsuda Kenjiro, I tend to have small doubts if it's really him (especially when he is voicing younger roles.)
Tumblr media
3. Voice that is hardest to recognize
Terashima Takuma
Okay, so this guy has a tendency to disappear behind his roles.  And I mean that in a good way.  He is able to voice each character uniquely that you forget that there is a voice actor lending his voice to them--I mean all good voice actors are like this…but even the greatest ones have habits or something unique that makes them recognizable.  So far, I still haven't figured out how to identify his voice.
Tumblr media
4. Seiyuu with the most number of favorite roles
This is probably one of the hardest for me to respond to.  (I just like a lot of characters) I had to make a list and limit only one favorite character per anime.
Well…out of 50+ voice actors, first place goes to Miyano Mamoru, with 16 favorite characters.  Not really surprised about that.  He is casted in most of the earlier anime I had watched.  To name a few: Kida Masaomi (Durarara!!!), Suoh Tamaki (Ouran High School Host Club), Yogi (Karneval), Death the Kid (Soul Eater), etc.  I guess this is why he's one of the first to make it in my "Top 5 male seiyuus". I love his more recent roles too!
Tumblr media
A close second is Kimura Ryohei with 15 favorite characters. (I actually thought he would take first place) He's also in my "Top 5", but it's the opposite case for him though. I have a suspicion that these characters became my favorite because it is Kimura Ryohei who voiced them.
Tumblr media
5. Seiyuu with the best stoic characters
Ono Daisuke
He just excels at these characters… Heiwajima Shizuo (Durarara!!), Killer T Cell (Hataraku Saibou), Kujo Jotaro (JoJo), Hirato (Karneval), Midorima Shintarto (Kuroko no Basuke), Sebastian Michealis (Kuroshitsuji),etc.
Okay maybe not really stoic, but more of the cool and quiet types…the ones that we'd love to see get embarrassed/annoyed.
Tumblr media
Special mention: Ishikawa Kaito
He doesn't have much roles as OnoD yet, but I was really impressed with his work in Zankyou no Terror, Sakurada Reset, and Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari,
Tumblr media
6. Seiyuu with the best noisy characters
Okamoto Nobuhiko
I don’t think this needs much explanation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel scared for his vocal chords.
What I like about his screams and shouts is that it sounds "controlled" but at the same time "real" I mean anyone can scream their heads off, but not anyone can sound good while doing it.   I've heard him  do angry noisy, passionate noisy, happy noisy, excited noisy, and crazy noisy!
7. Seiyuu with the most impressive range (pitch)
This kind of overlaps with the next item(character types), but anyway…
Ishida Akira He is so good that it's so scary.  I've heard a lot of voice actors with a "normal/adult voice" and a "younger voice".  But Ishida Akira's range is way wider: from a young child to an elderly person--BOTH MALE AND FEMALE VOICES.  His voice may not be as deep as some voice actors.  But considering also his older age it is impressive that he still voices teenagers.
youtube
Special Mention: Shimazaki Nobunaga His voice acting range probably isn't as wide as Ishida Akira, but his voice has gone way higher than other male voices I have heard.
Tumblr media
...and that’s it for week one!  This took longer than I thought. I regret deciding to post weekly.  Wow you made it this far? I hope you at least got entertained.

Bungo Stray Dogs!
Remember how I said I was going to share my thoughts after finishing season 1? Yeah... that was a lie. But I can fix it now!
So, I finished season 2 on, I think, Wednesday and I'm glad I watched it before I wrote this post, because I have some more to talk about it. Besides, I've actually decided to pick up the first 3 volumes of the manga.
Tumblr media
(Yeah, I think it's now quite obvious, I will be mostly praising the series in this post)
But let's start from the beginning!
As I mentioned before, I knew nothing about this anime (apart from the fact Mamoru Miyano is voicing a character who gets stuck in a barrel once). But, of course, the title suggested it's going to be about writers. Suffice to say, the first episode was absolutely nothing what I was expecting. Superpowers? Detectives? Mafia? Another series with a weretiger?! (yes, it's actually a second series - the first being Midnight Texas - I know about that has a weretiger). But despite being something that I wasn't expecting, I enjoyed it. Mostly because of Baccano/Durarara vibe and aesthetic.
But despite all that, I didn't notice many literature references in the first season (don't shout yet, please). Apart from the names of the character's gifts that is. But then I opened the manga and saw this:
Tumblr media
A whole 4 pages talking about how literally EVERY character is based on an author. They are all just Japanese authors (duh!) - apart from the characters from the Guild who appear later, of course. So, that proved how ignorant I truly was. Speaking of characters.
I really enjoy watching characters with strong personalities, but, who at the same time, are complex and can't be described with only one trait. I think it's so easy to make a character who is "just gloomy" or "just quirky". But here, although they seem at first simple, every character clearly has a lot of layers. And those subtle/clever references to their real-life counterpart (that's to translator's notes I know that, for example, the actual Akutagawa was a big fan of the actual Dazai) simply add even more spice to it.
Oh, another thing to love about this series:
Tumblr media
I'm a sucker for frenemies.
Of course, another important thing to discuss is voice acting. And, oh my God, this anime has all seiyuus that I love. Mamoru Miyano? Amazing as always. Hiroshi Kamiya? Yes, give me this god of playing smug/charming/lovable bastards. Yoshimasa Hosoya - perfect voice for serious characters who can lose their temper easily. Kishou Taniyama -that one guy I always forget about, but then I remember I adore his voice. Kana Hanazawa - the queen of cute voices. Sumire Morohoshi? I did not believe that she was the voice of Kyouka. But then she started screaming "yada, yada, yada" and I finally heard Emma from TPN.
Seriously, that's one of the strongest set of voice actors I have seen in a while.
Another thing I have to mention - comedy. I was really surprised when I read it's classified as seinen because I usually assume those shows with lots of jokes/superpowers to be shonens (of course, I am writing it after finishing the second season, and I know how dark/sad/serious this anime can get). But yet here we are! Thanks to an amazing cast, this anime is effortlessly funny. I love those fast-paced, characters-oriented jokes, so it's a perfect series for me.
Before I move on to some random thoughts, I have to say a couple of words about another important aspect of this series: the music. It's really good. The OST and OPs are definitely going on my playlist.
And now here are some random thoughts: - Ranpo might be my favourite character (not just because of the seiyuu). Probably because he is not exactly your typical "I'm smart, peasants" genius-detective. He is also not a strange, L-like, quirky detective. I think he is a healthy mixture of both. The result, apparently, is a lovable character, who always steals the show.
- I was certain Atsushi was voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto. Welp, guess I was wrong.
- While I was reading the first volume of the manga I noticed Akutagawa speaks in a very archaic - mostly applies to how he forms sentences, rather than using specific words. It is not something I saw in anime (I watched it with English subs, but I read the manga in Polish). I wonder if this is a translator's choice (there wasn't anything about it in the notes) or maybe he also speaks like that in Japanese.
- I aspire to be like the President of the Agency. Not because he is a man of honour, power and wisdom. No. It's because there is always an electric guitar playing whenever he enters a room
- Fitzgerald's ability is literally pay-to-win
Tumblr media
- When you are mortal enemies but you have to share a lift:
Tumblr media
And I think that's all! Right now I'm going to have a break with this series (will probably finally watch Monster), but I will surely be back! From what I've heard, after season 2, I shouldn't go for season 3, but rather the movie, right? Or something like that. Well, anyway, I'm going to double check once the time comes.
So, to sum up: loved the first two seasons. I give 8/10

Haikyuu!! S4 Episode 21
my favorite moments i want to share and that no one asked for but im such a blabbermouth
istg u would not want to watch haikyu with me because i scream like a parrot out of nowhere or every 30 seconds
coach ukai saying a spike is always a one-on-six fight. because even if it’s the blocker who is going up against the opponent at the net, you have your team behind you. man my heart
“the idea that only kill blocks equate to a strong block is outdated..” aaa this should be emphasized more. blockers would go for that kill for the fast finish and maybe for the momentum and the hype from the crowd. but tsukki being the 😎 cool 😎dude that he is, purposely placing the block not to finish the rally but to give his team the advantage. his retort to suna oh my god i love him so much i wanna slap him
kuroo smiling at tsukki’s blocking
cheersquad captain sugawara casually being beautiful the whole time
the build-up of kinoshita’s epic moment
noya doing the overhead pass. i understand this so much because we would usually rely on the chances of the underhand receive and the ball could easily slip through your fingers especially if you do not have setter-like tosses. background music, epic. emotions, everywhere.
noya acknowledging his weaknesses, for someone who looks strong and resilient as him, and then he points at kinoshita, i think it was comforting and i legit sobbed and had to pause bc i couldn’t see the screen
asahi always being the finisher to those important noya moments
yeah i was doing these notes while watching the episode
saw a tweet saying mamoru miyano giving life to miya atsumu and i couldn’t agree moreeeee. if you haven’t heard of atsumu before but you knew then he will voiced by mamoru, best believe the character would be iconic and loved
“only the best players get to play setter” In this, I believe. yep, setter supremacy. i wonder if maybe that’s why furudate made all setters extra good-looking
atsumu’s biggest blessing is osamu. MAN. MY HEART AGAIN. i thought about loving to play volleyball with people who are not gonna stay with the sport to the end. it’s super realistic.
atsumu’s almost kneeling set. no words.
kageyama’s only line aside from his nice receive to nishinoya which is a response to hinata’s line :’)))))) ofc i wouldn’t miss out the opportunity to point out kagehina ^3^
i could have just said every damn minute to be short, but oh well

My Review of Sarazanmai
Tumblr media
How did I get into this anime? I heard “things” about this anime. 2019 was a weird time to be alive apparently. You know, before 2020 happened! As much shit as I give 2020, at least they didn’t give us kappas eating people’s asses.
Tumblr media
Yes, I just said “kappas eating people’s asses”.
Be afraid. Be very afraid!
Tumblr media
Kazuki Yasaka is a young boy who must carry around a box wherever he goes and follow specific directions day-by-day. Toi Kuji is a delinquent that breaks into cars and commits other crimes throughout the city. And Enta Jinnai is a childhood friend of Kazuki…He’s there too! These three boys have been chosen by the kappa prince, Keppi to help restore the Kappa Kingdom to its former glory. Kazuki, Toi, and Enta can now transform into kappas by being eaten ass first by Keppi and then shit out. Yes, I said eaten ass first and shit out by a kappa! These boys then must eat the inner-most desires of these kappa-zombies that are causing Keppi trouble. And these inner-most desires are located…in the ass. But there are those from the Otter Empire that cause this trouble for the kappas by turning folks into kappa zombies and causing havoc in the real world.
Tumblr media
I would not expect any less of a mind-rape anime from the great Kunihiko Ikuhara.
BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: Even playing a kappa, Junichi Suwabe still finds a way to give me an erection.
Okay, let’s try that again and not make it sound disgusting, Medea.
Right! Let’s talk licensing. FUNimation is the licensors of this fine product. Seriously? Eating ass is fine, but you frown upon the likes of Interspecies Reviewers? Yes, there is a dub to this and believe it or not, I pretended it didn’t exist. Not because it was bad or anything! It’s just that this anime had the likes of Mamoru Miyano, Kouki Uchiyama, Rie Kugimiya, and Mr. Sex-in-a-Voice Junichi Suwabe. Let me state that my infatuation with Suwabe is like John Oliver’s infatuation with Adam Driver.
Tumblr media
That…totally doesn’t help my case! Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.
JAPANESE CAST: *Kazuki is played by Ayumu Murase (known for Minami on Yuri on Ice, Luck on Black Clover, Asuto on Inazuma Eleven: Aries, Madoka on Shounen Maid, and Shinichi on SAO)
*Toi is played by Kouki Uchiyama (known for Yurio on Yuri on Ice, Soul on Soul Eater, Rui on Demon Slayer, Ikuya on Free!, Benedict on Violet Evergarden, Midnight on Fairy Tail, Yuu on Charlotte, and Ichijou on Nisekoi)
*Enta is played by Shun Horie (known for Kazuya on Rent-A-Girlfriend)
ENGLISH CAST: *Kazuki is played by Alejandro Saab (known for Leon on Pokemon Journeys, L’Arc on Shield Hero, Kuga on Food Wars, Yamazaki on Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, and Takezou on Kono Oto Tomare)
*Toi is played by Ricco Fajardo (known for Koutaro on Zombieland Saga, Itona on Assassination Classroom, Karim on Fire Force, Natsuya on Free!, and Kyousuke on Danganronpa 3)
*Enta is played by Justin Briner (known for Deku on My Hero Academia, Yukito on Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, Shou on Fire Force, Luck on Black Clover, and Ryouta on Danganronpa 3)
Tumblr media
SHIPPING: Well…we got our BL kiss by the third episode. That’s quite early for an Ikuhara anime. Ooh boy, Enta loves him some Kazuki. He REALLY loves Kazuki! There’s a lot to be said of a boy that would sniff and fondle items owned by his lover and kiss his unconscious lover. I can understand why Enta would care for Kazuki. I mean after hearing that he’s truly his first friend after a childhood of traveling around and not making many friends, you want to feel for this kid. Key word here is “want”. But this boy goes too far sometimes and his jealousy does get the best of him to a point where I’m just saying, cut ties with the megane brat. But Enta ends up screwing things up again by taking a bullet for Kazuki and throwing all that anger out the window.
Tumblr media
And then we have Reo and Mabu! God damn Reo! We’ve got shark teeth, an arrogant attitude, homosexuality, and the voice of Mamoru Miyano. This is just a Rin Matsuoka of a different color! If Reo and Mabu’s otter dance isn’t a dead giveaway, they totally love each other. To a point where they would sacrifice each other for the one they love.
Tumblr media
POLE-DANCE ALERT: I don’t know why I always find random pole-dancing moments in animes so alluring. I guess I can blame the likes of Grell from Black Butler. But this moment was so random that it came right the fuck out of nowhere. Then again, this entire anime is an enigmatic brain-fart that it was only a matter of time before a kappa prince starts randomly dancing on a pole.
There we go, Medea’s love for random crap will never die!
ENDING: Throughout the series, Kazuki, Toi, and Enta were gathering these dishes in order to get a wish granted by Keppi. And each time they’ve gone up against a big bad otter, Reo and Mabu are usually the ones to bring out the kappa zombies. But everyone has a plan for using the dishes of hope for their own wishes. Enta wants to use it to stay with Kazuki so the two can remain the golden duo. Reo and Mabu want the dishes to be with each other and save one another after an incident nearly killed them. And Kazuki originally wanted to use the dishes for his baby brother’s own sake, but changes to wanting to help Toi (who ends up leaving with his older, criminal of a brother). And shit goes crazier than what I’ve just mentioned. Enta fucks up by stealing the collected dishes and really fucking up his relationship with Kazuki! Toi ends up leaving town with his criminal brother.
Tumblr media
Reo and Mabu, the otter cops shoot Kazuki, but Enta takes the bullet and is hours away from dying. But then we learn that Reo and Mabu were actually kappas who worked under Keppi. It’s just that the otters have been manipulating these two. Mabu is just a hollow body created by the otters because of some accident that happened prior to the events in the anime. The otter gives Mabu a mechanical heart to keep him alive, but in order to stay alive, he cannot say he loves Reo. Unfortunately for these two, Mabu ends up saying he loves Reo and dies right in front of him and vanishing from his memories. Reo is then shot by Toi who comes in at the last minute.
Toi’s back. We all knew it wasn’t going to last. His older brother got shot dead the episode before. So Toi is going to use the dishes to resurrect his brother from the dead. This leaves Kazuki in shambles as he was going to use it on Enta before his body expires in like 10 seconds. In the last minute, Kazuki used the dishes on Enta and he’s going to live. End of story right? No, we still have a demented otter on the loose. And the otters have a dark Keppi that he’s been storing for just this sort of moment. And now it grabs Toi and Toi accepts. He wants to erase his existence from Enta and Kazuki’s lives. Problem is if he does that, Toi erases giving Kazuki the ankle bracelet that’s been a staple in Kazuki and Enta’s relationship when it comes to soccer. But the boys were able to connect, destroy the otters, bring the memories of Mabu and Reo back, turn Keppi into a kappa prince, and save the town from OTTER-destruction.
Tumblr media
Yeah, if you watch this series, you’ll hear a lot of puns involving otters. I mean when you’re not smothered in sexualized otters and kappas.
The ending credits show Toi getting sent to juvie for three years. And it’s quite sad to see his dejected face while the ending song blasts. When the lyrics literally say “stand by me” it gets quite sad. Three years pass and Toi’s out of juvie. He goes to the bridge and jumps off. Keep in mind this is an Ikuhara anime, Toi’s not gonna die. Enta and Kazuki jump in and join Toi and welcome him back to society.
Good lord Ikuhara-san! I didn’t think you could out-gay an anime after the likes of Yuri Kuma Arashi. But good fuck, you found a way! This anime was…INSANITY. Pure insanity! Then again, this is the same director that did Revolutionary Girl Utena, Yuri Kuma Arashi, and Mawaru Penguindrum. Yes, connection and desires are a big take in not only Sarazanmai, but a lot of the other animes Ikuhara does. It’s just that Sarazanmai is the strangest acid-trip of them all. And that’s saying a lot because Yuri Kuma Arashi has sexy bears that say “Shaba-da-doo”. ALSO VOICED BY JUNICHI SUWABE! But people getting turned into kappas by being eaten ass first by another kappa and stealing spirits inner most desires, conveniently stored in their asses is some wonky-ass crack-fest. Recommendation wise, I would say watch some of the other animes Ikuhara has directed to get your feet wet in what you might expect in this kind of anime. After that, pop in a few Bakemonogatari episodes just for good measure. And after you do all that, take some CBD gummies and let-a-rip with Sarazanmai.
If you want to watch Sarazanmai, Crunchyroll and FUNimation have it available for streaming.
Okay, what’s next for my FUNimation list?
Tumblr media
Okay, boobs! What are we talking here? Are these boobs flat as an ironing board or crimes against nature like in Eiken?
Tumblr media
Oh, this can’t end well.

Anime in the Time of Quarantine
This fine quarantine period, I have made it my mission to watch as much anime as possible, because I don’t know, I guess it’s better than wallowing in self-pity.  Here’s a list of everything I’ve watched to date and how much I recommend them, because I don’t know, I’m bored or something.
This list does not contain anime I’ve previously watched, because that would make it normal life anime. So don’t ask me why Shingeki no Kyojin is not on the list.  Of course it remains my favourite and I will continue to recommend it until my dying breath.
Also, this list is ordered in the order I watched them in, and does not reflect any standing other than that.  Also also, I get bored really easily, so if an anime doesn’t grab me immediately, chances are I’ll close it very quickly.  I’ve started a lot more anime than is on this list but got bored and closed it.  Hence, this list is almost entirely positive recommendations.  Also also also (I swear this is the last clarifier), I’ve been in a slice of life kind of mood, because my slice of life is boring and uninteresting to the extreme, so that genre is kind of over-represented here.  So with that being said, on to the list (sorry that it’s so long, I have an issue with verbosity).
Stein’s Gate: I started watching Stein’s Gate two years ago, but didn’t make it past the five minute mark, because I just didn’t get it.  I started watching it again a few weeks ago, and I still didn’t get it, but I persevered because I was bored and high on chocolate.  By the end of the first episode…I still didn’t get it. I continued to not get it until probably midway through the third episode, but when I got it, holy hell did it hit hard.  I absolutely enjoyed every second of this anime.  I loved watching Okabe’s journey from imagined insanity into actual insanity and then back again.  He went on a true hero’s journey, and I loved every second of it.  Miyano Mamoru gives a masterful performance (I always watch the subbed animes, and I recommend that everyone else does too).  The chemistry between Okabe and Kurisu is probably the best in anime that I’ve watched thus far (sorry Asuna and Kirito, your time has finally come).  This anime is rich with emotion, humour, tragedy, (some) romance, friendship, mad scientists and beautiful characters.  If you can stand being confused for the first three episodes, this anime will be an incredibly rewarding journey for you.  I highly recommend it.
Ao Haru Ride/Blue Spring Ride: I saw a clip of this anime in a seiyuu video and I fell in love with the art style and decided to give it a watch.  I have mixed feelings about this one.  On the one hand, the plot is interesting, although having watched similar anime, a lot of it is kind of cliched.  That being said, I did like the message of being true to yourself, no matter the cost.  And I appreciated the fact that Futaba (our main hero) wasn’t a stereotypical anime girl (although she really does cry a lot and I agree with Kou that it is annoying). I found Kou (our love interest) a very interesting and compelling character.  The clear winner of this anime though is the art style.  It is beautiful to look at.  Unfortunately, the first season ends on kind of a cliffhanger, and there doesn’t appear to be a second season coming any time soon, which is really disappointing.  If you like high school romance stories with an edgy bad boy in it, then this is the anime for you, but don’t expect a satisfying ending, because, well, there isn’t one.
Stein’s Gate 0: I watched this because my friend said that it made her cry after every episode (I personally didn’t think Stein’s Gate needed a sequel, but oh well).  Based on her recommendation, I went in with high expectations, which were kind of mostly unmet.  The plot was way more confusing, less compelling, it felt like the stakes weren’t that high, mostly because they were only introduced way later in the series (I know Stein’s Gate did the same thing, but it somehow felt more shoved in with this one) and because we already knew how it would end. Also the ending felt incredibly rushed. The only episode I really wholeheartedly enjoyed was the reunion between Kurisu and Okabe (sounds weird out of context, but I’m trying to remain spoiler free).  For the rest, I was left with mixed feelings, although I have to say, I probably love Okabe even more in Stein’s Gate 0 and Miyano Mamoru gives us another stunning performance.  I would probably have been happier if this entire series had just consisted of Okabe trying to move on from the fallout of what happened in Stein’s Gate and there was no drama of World War III.  So, I guess if you’re curious to see what happens if Okabe does not look for Stein’s Gate in the previous season, this is for you.  Honestly though, I’d probably be happier if I hadn’t watched Stein’s Gate 0.
Shigatsu wo Kimi no Uso/Your lie in April: THIS ANIME OH MY GOSH!!!!  I did not even know that this anime existed until I saw it on Kaji Yuki’s Wikipedia page (I’m a fan, so what?).  He’s barely in this by the way, but that doesn’t matter, because this anime is amazing.  I knew how it ended because I unfortunately saw spoilers when I was reading what the plot was about when I was deciding whether or not to watch this, and I still cried for about an hour after the ending (and I don’t cry easily, especially not with anime).  The writing here is probably the best in any anime I’ve watched (yes, better than SNK, the king has been toppled from his throne), the soundtrack is amazing (I’ve been listening to it on repeat for a week now), the acting is beautiful, the artwork is gorgeous (apart from Kosei’s disappearing glass frame, that was weird), and all around, this anime is just…perfect.  If you enjoy teenage romance and drama, if you love classical music, if you feel like bawling your eyes out for an hour because right now your life is pretty boring and pointless, then this is the anime for you.  And even if you aren’t any of those things listed, I still recommend this anime because it is gorgeous and deserves recognition for how incredible it is.
Welcome to the NHK: this is probably the direct opposite of Shigatsu wo Kimi no Uso in every way possible.  I haven’t finished this anime yet because it is extremely heavy, and I can only manage two episodes a night, but I still highly recommend it.  It’s a fascinating take on a lot of modern Japanese culture, specifically surrounding mental health, the hentai industry and consumerism. It’s also got a lot of black comedy in it, which I love.  All in all (and depending on the ending of the series), I highly recommend this one for its interesting writing and plot and excellent acting.
Lovely Complex: honestly, this anime sort of crept into my heart as one of the most adorable, refreshing, hilarious and unexpected love stories of all time.  It basically tells the story of two idiot friends who slowly realise they’re in love with each other, how this impacts their friendship and how they navigate the very dark waters of teen romance.  If you’re looking for an uncliched high school romance anime, where the heroine is the opposite of a cute anime girl, where the broody handsome guy is not the object of our affection and where you get flashbacks of just how dumb you were as a teenager and how grateful you are to be out of that age group (if you’re my age I mean, I’m mostly talking about myself here), then this is definitely the anime for you. Also, the opening song is ska, how cool is that?
Orange: another time traveling story, except the time traveling is even more confusing here. Just kidding, the time traveling is probably the least interesting part of this story, which examines suicide, depression, guilt and bullying, and does it in a pretty mature way.  Our hero (dear lovely confused Naho) is unfortunately not very smart, but that’s ok, because she has Suwa, the best human being in the whole world, to help her out.  Honestly, this story would have ended very differently if Suwa had not been around and he deserves every award that can possibly be given to amazing human beings. This anime is sort of 13 Reasons Why, but in reverse, less exploitative and with better friends (you’ll understand what I mean when you watch it).  If you aren’t going to be triggered by discussions of suicide, depression and bullying, then I really do recommend this, as it is very interesting, well-performed, and largely well-handled.
So that’s my anime watch list thus far.  I plan to finish Welcome to the NHK soon, and then start watching Mushishi, as I’ve heard a lot of great things about it.  Also, now that you guys have seen what my tastes are, I would love it if I could get more recommendations.  Lord knows, I’m not going to be doing anything else until I can find a way home, so I might as well expand my horizons.  Also also…no, that’s it.  Have a good quarantine folks!

Godzilla 3: The Planet Eater (2018)
Tumblr media
The animated Godzilla trilogy has been an interesting experiment. After the post-credit sequence in Godzilla 2: City on the Edge of Battle, we heard a familiar name whispered: Ghidorah. We've seen King Ghidorah how many times now?! Are these filmmakers afraid of taking chances? Well, the three-headed monster does come to fight the King of the Monsters once again but this is an entirely different take on the character. It’s so different I think many who come in simply craving wanton kaiju-sized destruction may leave disappointed but there’s a lot to like in the story’s exploration of theological themes and sci-fi ideas. It's the best of the three films.
Mechagodzilla City has been destroyed, causing the alien Bilusaludo to turn against their fellow survivors. In this time of weakened defenses, the humans' other allies, the Exifs, begin indoctrinating those around them in their death-cult religion, hoping to summon the "golden death", Ghidorah, to our world. To convince mankind that their god is worthy of worship, Methphies (voiced by Takahiro Sakurai) needs the help of now emotionally devastated Haruo (Mamoru Miyano).
This story put the “God” in “Godzilla”, a novel idea I’m surprised hasn’t been explored previously. We’ve had magical creatures in the long-running series and some of the monsters have been worshipped as deities (Mothra, for example) but never like this. This film directs its energies almost exclusively on inner struggles rather than monster action. The Exifs prey on the humans who, after facing yet another defeat, are looking for any way to fight back against Godzilla. Methphies goes in-depth into the logic of his race’s religion and it’s fascinating stuff. Blending alien concepts with the supernatural like this is something we don’t often see. We kinda knew they were twisted and evil early on but finally getting all of the details reveals them to be even more unsettling.
It builds to a climax that incorporates all sorts of wild concepts. It's a unique plot - not just within the Godzilla canon. In many ways, it reminds you of Evangelion; the later chapters of the series which focussed on the characters uncovering deep personal secrets and blending science and religion together to uncover a storyline which put not just the world, but all of reality in peril. It's also the only Godzilla movie I can think of which has sex in it. Who'dve thunk?
While some issues from the first two films return - the just-average animation and sometimes clunky dub, too-similar character designs - and a couple of developments are a bit unclear (perhaps due to the dub), this conclusion to the story makes it all worthwhile. Sometimes, giving the first pieces in a bigger story the benefit of the doubt pays off and Godzilla 3: The Planet Eater is one of those examples. Miyano Mamoru Request LIVE II by Natsu XD
SO Let’s talk about RII!!! It's already passed more than one month, right? XDDDD Sorry, adult life got in my way XD
Well, I'm old so probably I already forgot some things LOL And I was in a way too much fascinated! Like too much fascinated LOL so I lost some things Mamo was talking about AHAHAHAHAHA XD I'll do my best during this little report!
Let me start with: OMG I was so freaking nervous!! It was a roller couster to arrive at yokohama!! I even got lost AHAHAHAHAA*********** OMG The line WAS GIANT!!! One part I thought I would be the next to take the goods, but waaaaa it had a EXTENSE AND GIANT LINE INSIDE YOKOARI!!! At least was better than outside! Outside was so freaking hot!!! ;____;
But waaaaaa when I finally arrived at Mamo Goods Saloon (is that the name? XD), it was playing many mamo songs!! I couldn’t hold myself when The Birth started to play ajaiahuauhauiahuihauhaia I kind danced and it was so fun!!! I was so nervous to ask the goods I wanted to the staff hauihaihiauhahuiaa I was even shaking!!! When I talked in japaneese so nervous and the staff saw it she just “it’s okay, it’s all alright ^^ tell me what you want ^^” I loved the way all the staffs were so lovely!
So after this, it was time to wait the live start! It was funny at one moment because they ask you to give you one kinda “entrance ticket” I forgot the name @yasuragi-hotaru told me AHAHAHA sorry XD but thanks a lot for help me and it was amazing to met you there <3 the same for @mamo-pls waaaa it's was great to meet you and thanks for spend some time with me before the live x3 (I was alone for 3 or 4 hours in that line inside YokoAri, so meet some wonderful people was great for sure!! <3)
So! When I arrived there, the staff asked my right arm and marked my wrist with a kinda invisible stamp!! Ofc I was confused but then she used an infrared flashlight that showed the RII marks!! This was so cool!! I was so surprised that I said so fascinated “waaaaaaaaaa tecnologyyyy!!!!” HAUAHUAHAHHAHUAHAHAUAHHAHA Everybody laughed at me because of this, but sorry, only REALLY BIG events have this kinda things in Brazil XD It was fun! I didn't knew had many cosplayers of Mamo costums there!! That made me wanna do the same thing next time XDD So well!! Then we started to enter in YokoAri, I was almost screaming HUAHUAHAUAHAUA But sadly I was in stands really far from him ;_______; </3 Really. Practically in the last line of the last stand ;-; I was really sad... ;-; I'm still kinda sad only remembering it ;-;
So I was there at my seat, waiting. I was without any clock so I was surprised when the lights turned off!!! I thought I would yell, but... I felt my heart beating so fast that somehow I even felt time stopped HAUIHAIUHAUHUAHIAHUAI
Ofc it had one little Request II presentation but it was so fast! Team Mamo started to enter and taking their places and suddenly Mamo arrived walking with that beautiful suit!!!!! Entering like it was a really important event, you know? hauiahiuahuiahuiaa (My sister told me later Mamo was cosplaying Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas with that suit hauhauiahuhaihahuia) Ofc he said the same things as always “thank you for come and welcome for request II” well... Sorry again, but I was so fascinated and so happy that I lost many things he said HAUAHAIUAHIAHAHAUHAHAUAHI My heart and mind were going so crazy!!!! All I could think was "IT IS HAPPENING!!! 5 YEARS DREAMING TO SEE YOU, MAMO!!!!" <3 <3 <3 Ofc he said we would sing some songs people had chose, but some of them I didn’t knew LOL If I’m not mistaken, he said some of that songs he really like
The first song was really nice! I didn't knew that song! OMG SOME OF YOU MAY KNOW BUT LET ME TELL YOU THAT MAMO’S VOICE IN LIVE IS SO BEAUTIFUL!! It was being hard to deal with all of that!! ;-; <3 <3 <3 OH! One of the songs was Dazai’s song, right? It was so funny because before the song, Mamo said using Dazai’s voice “no more human” and everybody turned off the penlights almost at the same time!! Mamo laughed so much XD HAUAHUAHAUAHUAHAUAHUAHAA he said “omg y’all are so smart LOLOLOLOL” it was really funny! We did again and he laughed even more hauahauahuauaua During this song, everyone was with an red light and in the end, he said “no more human” again and all of us turned off our penlights! huahuiahhauiaia Mamo laughed a lot!! (OH MY GOD!!! HIS LAUGH!!! HIS LAUGHS AND GIGGLES ARE ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDS IN THE WORLD  <3 <3  <3 <3  <3 <3  <3 <3  <3 <3  <3 <3 JESUS, I WAS CRYING SOMETIMES HAUIAHUIAHUAHUIHAIUHAUHAUIA)
When he played harmonica!!!  WAAAAAAAAAAA <3 <3 <3 OH MY GOSH!! I was waiting for everything, but not hear and see Mamo playing harmonica at live!!! My heart almost stopped !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 He plays it so FUCKING WELL!!! <3 <3 <3 Waaaaaaaa!!! Ok ok, I need to calm down! (Stop to beat so fast again, heart AHUAIHAUIHAUHAUIHAHAUHAHUI) So he was saying about sing one song of a really popular character and one that he likes too! Rin's Gratitude, ofc! It had one guy who yelled “Rin-chan!” LOL ofc Mamo replied this guy, laughing LOL I confess I yelled “Rin-chan-san!” LOL but Mamo didn’t heard me ;______; </3 It was really cool!! I love that song of Rin! Mamo has such a wonderful voice in that song!! <3 <3 <3
So then, after talking he said “but that’s enough, I wanna sing my own songs lol” hauhauauauauuauauauua (Pause to say: OMG HIS SMILE ;-; <3)
Here, I can’t remember exactly... does he went to change the cloth, I think? It had that time showing Team Mamo, and it had one new member, but I can’t remember his name (too much hard japanese name, sorry XD HAUAHAUAHUAHAUA) I also forget when he did it, but with this new member, Mamo went next to him and practically throw himself in the floor, looked to that new member and said with a funny voice: “oh! A new member! That’s nice! Who’s you??” HAHAAHAUHIAUHUAHIA that guy said somethings and ofc Mamo was teasing him XDDDDDDDD
Waaaaa I wasn’t waiting EGOISTIC!!! <3 <3 <3 All the parts we could sing, I was there singing as a crazy fangirl hauahiahuhauiahuhahaiuhauhaia (how people didn't hated, me I don't know XD they was singing along too XDDDD) But but but!! Waaaaaaaa I was almost crying of happiness listening Kuon, BE and Forever Lullaby ;______________; <3 I love these songs!!! Kuon isn’t the same for me!! ;____________; <3 his voice, his tone and his notes in this song this time was so dawn perfect!! So beautiful to hear <3 <3 <3 It was really beautiful!!!! I had so much fun while he was singing Super Soul!! That part when Mamo laughs in the song, everybody laughed with him!  <3 <3  <3 <3  <3 <3  <3 <3  <3 <3  <3 <3  <3 <3 It was so dawn cute!!! I think it was in this moment he took that “car” and was going through arena!!! ok, here I confess I had a lot of jealous AHAUIAHAHAIHAHUAI XD But I got so happy when he looked to the stand and waved to us ;-; <3 I wasn’t waiting for WONDER LOVE TOOOOOO!!! OH MY GOSH I LOVE THIS SONG!!!  <3 <3 <3 It was one of the songs I felt in love for him <3 <3 <3 We all sang along with Mamo when the lyrics let us HAUHAUHAIHAHAHIUA HE WAS SO HAPPY SINGING THIS SONG!!! ;-; <3 <3 <3
So yeah, he was saying bye bye in the end of this song and that part I loved too: The part we yell his name!! MAMO MAMO MAMO! <3 I was yelling so much uahuiahihauhahaiuhahaihauhia

It was sooooooo amaziiiiiing!!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3
After this, he started to talk about somethings, but the only thing I remember I could understand was about the Photobook, Player (sorry, Sotto Tokete high notes just broke me HAHUIAHIUAHUAHUIAHUA I was trying to survive XDDDDDD) He said would be released in october and he went until Las Vegas to this, and then the said “maybe this photobook will have... some... eroi photos lolololololol” ofc we all yelled and he laughed a lot, but later he just bent down to the floor saying “waaaaa hazukashiii!! ><” and IT WAS SO CUTE!!! <3 <3 <3 OH MY GOSH!! LEMME SAY AGAIN!!! HIS LAUGH!! HIS GIGGLES!! THEY'RE ARE SO BEUATIFUL AND SOOOOO CUTE AT LIVE!!!
Next this talk, he said we would sing ofc the song we already know, all penlights turned into yellow, my penlight din’t have this color ;-; but I knew the song before someone tell me! ahuiahauiahuiahia OFC WOULD BE EXCITING <3 Mamo was joking saying we already knew everything, he doesn’t even need to ask or say anything ahuahauiahiauhahiuahuaihuiahuahia So he asked again for the dancers, they entered doing some dance but Fumi was the best HAUAHIUAHUAHHAIA He was shaking his arms very funny and Mamo laughed a lot asking what he was that LOL we all were laughing and Fumi said “keyboard dance!” HAUAHUAHAUAHAUHAHAA Mamo said “really?” Fumi and Mamo looked to Sano-san and Sano-san danced like Fumi HAUAHUAAHAUAHAUHAUAHAUHAUAHAHAUA  MAMO LAUGHED SO MUCH!! Even Mamo started to dance like Fumi and in the end we all were dancing the keyboard dance HAUAHAHAUAHAHUAJAHAHAUAHAUAHAUHAUA
SO! Mamo after this Mamo started to sing EXCITING AND OH MY GOSH, I LOVE THIS SONG!! I LOVED TO SING NANANA NA NANANA NAAA NANANA NAAA NANA WITH EVERYBODY!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 IT WAS SO FREAKING MAGIC!!! ;_______________; <3 I LOVE THIS SONG EVEN MORE AFTER THIS LIVE!!! <3 <3 <3 IT WAS SO FREAKING FUN!!! <3 <3 <3  MAMO WAS HAVING A LOT OF FUN TOOO!!! AND OMG HIS HIP WHILE DANCING THIS SONG AHAUIAHIUAHUIAHUIA <3 <3 I FELT MY CHEEKS ON FIRE BUT I COULDN’T HOLD MYSEEEEEEELF AHIAHAIUHAUHAIHAHAHAIUAHIAUHIAUHAHHIUAHAIUAHUAIHUAIA The only sad part was that live was SO SHORT LMAO after the song, Mamo did like always, saying bye bye to us and I felt so abandoned when he gone HAUHAUAHAUAHAUHAUAU ;______; </3
oh!!! Stupid me!! LOL I forgot to say about team Mamo time!! LOL That part when Mamo introduce all team Mamo members!! It was so cooool while introducing them, they did a little song with their instruments and I got so happy to see Kei-kun in the drums *O* I think he’s so cute x3 Kihara-san did a nice song with guitar tooo!! The same for Sano-san with the keyboard/piano!!! *o* ok, all of them!!! LMAO So the dancers came and many girls yelled to Nosuke!! (I include myself here too LOL Nosuke is so cute!!! <3) All of them did a little dance to us follow them ahuiahaiuaihauihauia I always got much more time to take the choreographies! When I finally got it, the dance changed LMAO) Fumi ofc was one of the funniest!! He did like the same in GENERATING LOOOOOL IT WAS SO FUNNY!!!!HAUIAHUAIHAUIHAUHHUAI
Hmmm okay! I think this is the end of my report! I probaly forgot somethings and and maybe had mixted some others (as you can see XDDD) BUT it was really one of the best days of my life! I was dreaming to go to some Mamo live for so much time ;-; I need to say a big THANK YOU to @hikarisunny and @sasunaru-relationship too! Thanks to @yasuragi-hotaru and @mamo-pls who also were so nice to spend some time helped me (and when I was so nervous! ahahahahahhauah) <3
So in resume: I’m much more in love with him and I’m being impossible since september about Mamo LMAO <3 I though it was impossible to love him more, but I realized that is possible ahuiahuiahuaihauihauihaihiau
That's it. Idk seems such a weird report, right? XDD

Seiyuu Challenge: Bonus Rounds
This is inspired by the seiyuu challenge I saw @rukiinightray doing on their Tumblr. Check out the #Seiyuu Challenge tag on their Tumblr to see the questions.
I just picked my favourites from Rukii’s to add to the compilation. After this, I will be posting the masterpost for my fully answered 30 Day challenge (it’s a separate one) including this bonus round!
Bonus Rounds Include:
Favourite Seiyuu above 40 Years Old
Favourite Singing Unit/Group
Seiyuu with Cute Voices
Seiyuu with Attractive Voices
Seiyuu with the Best Smiles :D
Bonus Round #1: Favourite Seiyuu Above 40 Years Old
Hiroshi Kamiya (pretty much 44)
Tumblr media
Akira Ishida (51)
Tumblr media
Romi Park (46)
Tumblr media
Good luck finding current female seiyuu that still get hired above age 40 without having “legendary” status. Hahaha... why is the industry like this.
Tomokazu Sugita, Nana Mizuki, and Yuuichi Nakamura are all 39. I just wanted to mention that.
The gifs are just the most iconic character for them (although I had a tough time choosing)
Bonus Round #2: Best Singing Unit/Group
I’ll be honest, I don’t listen to units often, but I do come across the occasional song, so I’ll be sharing a few of those! I’d say that the three following groups are the only ones that I’ve actually listened to on their own.
The original question was the best 2.5D and 3D group, but I didn’t know exactly what those meant. I’m guessing 2.5D means there are anime characters played by seiyuu who also perform live like Utapri whereas 3D have real people performing and not as characters.
I’ve been listening to Yoshimasa Hosoya and Toshiki Masuda's Maxboys, but they’ve disbanded. I personally think this was due to bad timing, lack of variety and risk, and Masuda being a little less experienced on vocals. (if you can see the thumbnail of the video) *passes towel*
youtube
I did listen to a few TrySail things, but often, female units to me sound a bit too high-pitched and cutesy. I had the same problem when listening to a few K-Pop songs, but hey, I now know a song or two from Girls’ Generation and Twice (who the heck wouldn’t know those groups?) The members of TrySail include Momo Asakura (pink), Sora Amamiya (blue), and Shiina Natsukawa (yellow).
Alternative: Adrenaline - Eromanga-Sensei ED
youtube
But my top pick would probably be Sphere. Sphere was one of the first groups that caught my eye which was only got noticed because they sang a Honeyworks song. With members like Haruka Tomatsu, Ayahi Takagaki, Minako Kotobuki, and Aki Toyosaki, they are a bit older than their TrySail counterpart (TrySail members are 22-24ish while Sphere members are late-20s to early-30s). All of this group’s members are listed as actresses and voice actresses as well as singers. Yeah, so they voice act in various anime (each having their own list of shows), occasionally live-action act and make appearances, and sing and practice dancing. In fact, Ayahi Takagaki is one of the few women to appear on Kenichi Suzumura’s AD-LIVE event, and she went twice. I knew each of these members individually for their voice acting first, but they can also go solo (and they do) for their music, but as far as I’m concerned, Sphere is still on hiatus.
Alternative: Here are their top tracks. I couldn’t choose. (I could’ve added a lot more than 15 tracks)
youtube
I’d also like to mention that there is a top 20 list for male units (not mine) [source]
1 – ELEKITER ROUND 0 2 – E.M.U 3 – ST☆RISH 4 – QUARTET★NIGHT 5 – HE★VENS 6 – D.A.T 7 – 神谷浩史+小野大輔 8 – フェロ☆メン 9 – Marginal#4 10 – CELL DIVISION 11 - G.Addict 12 - Maxboys 13 - KAmiYU 14 - Trignal 15 - CONNECT 16 - X.I.P 17 - STYLE FIVE 18 - Stella Quintet 19 - R-16 20 - アニ○ズ
This is purely opinion-based obviously, and since I don’t listen to most of these groups (I’ve heard of them), I trust these people’s word. I just don’t like Hiroshi Kamiya’s singing, and I know I will be kicked in the shins again for saying that. Some of these groups are old too so you can see them with funny hairdos. Seriously, Sakurai had a mad mop on his head. I wonder if it was real.
I’d also like to give a quick shoutout to the Honeyworks seiyuu because even if that’s not a “unit”, they still sing a lot of songs from them.
Natsuki Enomoto (CV: Haruka Tomatsu) - song
Yuu Setoguchi (CV: Hiroshi Kamiya) - song
Akari Hayasaka (CV: Kana Asumi) - song
Souta Mochizuki (CV: Yuuki Kaji) - song
Miou Aida (CV: Aki Toyosaki) - song
Haruki Serizawa (CV: Kenichi Suzumura) - song
Saku Akechi (CV: Hikaru Midorikawa) - song
Koyuki Ayase (CV: Tsubasa Yonaga) - song
Hina Setoguchi (CV: Momo Asakura) - song
Kotarou Enomoto (CV: Natsuki Hanae) - song
Sena Narumi (CV: Sora Amamiya) - song
Midori Hamanaka (CV: Gero) - song
Arisa Takamizawa (CV: Nao Touyama) - song
Ken Shibazaki (CV: Yoshimasa Hosoya) - HOW IS HE THE ONLY ONE THERE ISN’T A SONG FOR (or one that I can’t seem to access???)
There’s also Nobunaga Shimazaki and Kouki Uchiyama in LIP x LIP. [Song Recommendations] [Newest Song]
Honestly, I can make more than one post about them. Stay tuned for that! I’m going to make all my song recommendations and explain this whole universe.
Bonus Round #3: Seiyuu with Cute Voices
Kana Hanazawa
Sora Amamiya
Maaya Sakamoto
Saori Hayami
Ai Kayano
Sumire Morohoshi
Maaya Uchida
Nobuhiko Okamoto
Yoshimasa Hosoya
Yuuki Kaji
These don’t even need explanation. If you’ve heard them, you know exactly what I mean.

Megumi Ogata
Hikaru Midorikawa
Kazuhiko Inoue
Akira Ishida
Takahiro Sakurai
Junichi Suwabe
Yuuichi Nakamura

I probably missed a ton, but this is such an open-ended category.
Bonus Round #5: Seiyuu with the Best Smiles :D
Kouki Uchiyama He doesn’t smile too often, but apparently, he smiles when misfortune happens to others. I sympathize. Why do you think fail videos can be funny sometimes?
Miyuki Sawashiro
Mamoru Miyano
Tomokazu Sugita
Nobuhiko Okamoto
Yoshimasa Hosoya
Saori Hayami
I feel like I had to put that tadbit for Kouki because he’s such an odd choice. The other ones are quite obvious. There are certain smiles that just make you smile, and that’s my list.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These special talk with the 3 main cast
(link to original) Reinhard (Miyano Mamoru), Yang (Suzumura Ken’ichi), Kircheis (Umehara Yu’ichirou)
Tumblr media
The main cast “Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These” are about to have their first talk together. Reinhard (Miyano Mamoru), Yang (Suzumura Ken’ichi) and Kircheis (Umehara Yu’ichirou). This is their recounts of the audition and their thoughts about the characters they face.
> Please tell us what do you think of the anime adaptation of “Legend of the Galactic Heroes”
Suzumura: Surprisingly before this, there has been rumours of an adaptation of “Legend of the Galactic Heroes” in the industry. In the Ishiguro-directed “LotGH”, during that time, there was no voice actor who hasn’t done a role in it, because lots of voice actors appeared in it, and it was called “Legend of the Galactic Voice Actors” (t/n: he said Ginga Seiyuu Densetsu) and to an extent, its a legendary-grade work. That was before I heard of an anime adaptation, and I thought it was cool and astonishing, but it [the audition] caught me off-guard until I can’t think, “Who else would do it, this is a mess...” is what I thought. (lol)
Miyano: I was a child when the Ishiguro-directed work was released, and I didn’t watch the contents of the work, with a legendary-grade title like “Legend of the Galactic Heroes”, of course I knew what it was. Like what Suzumura-san said, I also felt like the industry has gotten noisy with people saying “Reinhard is Miyano-kun right?” At that time no one told me this was coming. (lol) After a good amount of time had passed, I thought no one else is going to do this role, so I accepted it.
Suzumura: I thought the same too. Until the audition came, I thought no one else is going to accept the role during that time.
Umehara: I’m the same as Miyano, until the time I accepted the role in the audition, I have heard of “Legend of the Galactic Heroes” just in name only. I wasn’t even born when the original side stories were released.
Suzumura: Eh? For real? As for me, even though it was just one time, I appeared in the Ishiguro-directed work. (He appears in episode 7 of Gaiden 2 “Spiral Labyrinth”)
Miyano: Is it true?
Suzumura: It was when I was really young, though it was a nameless role.
> What do you remember during the time after the recording?
Suzumura: I heard this from the guys at the office, even though it was a nameless role, I thought, “I was in “LOGH”! My name should be in the credits for “Legend of the Galactic Voice Actors” !” I was really glad. But, I went to the studio and none of the “Legend of Galactic Voice Actors” were there, no one was recording (they were recording in separate rooms) (laughs). A few decades later, last year at the announcement event, I had a chat with Horikawa Ryou (Ishiguro-directed Reinhard) and he told me; “ “LOGH” will always surpass with you.” , it was a big shock for me.
> At that time, Sakurai Takahiro also made an appearance too.
Suzumura: Ah, that too! After recording, I think was with Takahiro. Furthermore, now we record “Die Neue These” in the same studio.
> Tell us your thoughts when you accepted the auditions for “Die Neue These”.
Miyano: When I received the news about the audition, I said, “Ah-! It’s that rumour-!” (laughs) After that, I went and read the original novels, the works are incredibly amazing that it made me look forward to the auditions. During it, Tada (Shunsuke) and Mima (Masafumi) who was the sound director, they were quite stoked. It a work where the actor who will definitely grow together [with the character], I feel like there’s a lot of people who want to experience this, no matter what form it will be in, it would be nice to participate.
Umehara: When I accepted the role, I didn’t really think much about it. I thought the veterans will definitely tell us the ways to do it, and we will make the most amazing work.
Miyano & Suzumura: Ahaha (laughing).
Umehara: After that, I can’t believe it... (laughs). For the audition, at first it was a tape audition. After that, it was a studio audition. Then, I had ANOTHER studio audition.
Suzumura: You had to do that? I didn’t even do it at all.
Miyano: You didn’t need to do it for Yang Wen-li, huh. Reinhard and Kirchi needed to be discussed a lot, so we had to do lots of auditions.
Suzumura: As for me, if i didn’t accept the role of Yang, I wouldn’t know.
Umehara: Because of that, at the last audition, me and Miyano ended up getting together and accepted the role.
Miyano: That’s the sort of combination we went with. Each group has its own battles.
Suzumura: So you mean, Miyano-kun and Umehara-kun got into a team during the auditions?
Umehara: Yes.
Suzumura: That’s interesting! I may be nervous, but its good to know that I’m not alone in this.
Umehara: Miyano-san said its been a while since he played a part with all his might and Mima-san gave us a starting point, I was really nervous.
Miyano: When I was at the audition hall, that time, me and Ume-chan were sitting on a sofa. I thought at that time, he looked cool. Then I heard him say “Actually, I’m pretty nervous,”. I said, “Really? You’re not lying?” (laughs)
Suzumura: Appearances can be deceiving (laughs)
Miyano: Certainly, while waiting he sounded like he was mumbling, that’s definitely nervousness (laughs)
Umehara: I was absolutely nervous (laughs). But, the audition was really fun. I thought, I really want to do more of this role! I was so glad I got accepted for it.
Miyano: There was a really, really slim chance to get the role at the audition.
Suzumura: That’s nice. As for me, I just needed to do a tape audition. Once, my manager gave it a look too, he said “Because the scene should be like this, you should say the line like that,” and make it look like I made it. Deep within my heart “I can’t do this, I’m not suitable for this role.” is all I thought until I submitted my tape. After that, I was surprised to get an immediate reply. It took around 2 weeks or so? I heard a rumour that the audition for Reinhard took an entire year, so getting a quick reply came off as a surprise. I’m really glad though.
> As you are portraying these characters, what is your character’s appeal point?
Miyano: Since its a big-scale work, and a drama between the story about people and their interactions, its a work that shows how people are. That’s why, if I don’t firmly understand the situation revolving around my role, I wouldn’t be able to approach it properly. Moreover, in my case, during the first time he fought against the opponent, I had to portray him [Reinhard] as a person who comes off as a leading figure, but I also thought of him as a person who doesn’t want to lose... From the start, Reinhard himself really doesn’t feel like losing, so I can’t lose either. That kind of feeling of is sort of troublesome, but I have the spirit for it. It will be commonplace to be unable to meet people in normal places because I’ll have the presence of a leader figure. Within that presence, I will stand out in the middle. It will need a lot of energy... Every time, I shall fight, so I can walk in the footsteps of the “Legend of the Galactic Voice Actors”, is what I feel (laughs)
Suzumura: Reinhard rises up the ranks at a young age, in contrast to Yang, who I feel like he gains more maturity every time he gets dragged into something. Since he is in the commander’s view, portraying this role was difficult. He sees things in a philosophical light a lot, and he shoulders other people’s problems onto himself too. But Yang, even though he gets involved in matters, I feel like I’m invading, though it’s really subjective. Although, I can’t do this without the view of a commander. He’s a character that gets himself in hard situations, I just needed to change no matter how many millimeters, as I wanted to find a way to capture that scenario, which is not at all wrong. With extremely high skills, wanting to be stronger, but wanting to do otherwise, but ended up looking like he’s weak, no one else could be Yang. Just around halfway, I couldn’t give up on not letting him exist was exceedingly hard. However, I decided to re-read the original novels, and within all the countless characters, I really love Yang Wen-li the most. It may have been difficult, but I think to myself that I really wanted to do this role. I was glad that I was given the chance and lucky to have it.
Umehara: In this anime, they showed Reinhard and Kircheis’s childhood years. In a way, it makes it easier to understand their relationship. Annerose (Reinhard’s sister) is considered to be their most important person, and that is the start of their sentiments.
Miyano: Yep yep. Everything we do is for Sister’s sake, that’s easily understandable.
Umehara: Agreed. That’s why, I thought of ways to portray him as a leading person that I wanted to do. After that, Kircheis will wait for the time when Reinhard and Yang will be equal in talent, but never in my own mind will I rise up to that level. I think there will be a time when Reinhard will wonder where I’ll [Kircheis] be when he needs my help. During the audition, we were instructed with the direction of “I wish to never lead and be in front of Reinhard. Even if I have to reprimand him, I wish to not be above him.” ‘So that’s his [Kircheis] identity’ is what I thought. Shortly after, I had a clear image of his personality and went though the script, and if i were to be accurate to the drama, “It’s not like that,” is what I felt towards the direction. Take for example, if Reinhard gets worried in one scene, Kircheis (from that scene) will be more worried before he does. The more I read about the person [Kircheis], portraying him is quite difficult. Even if I thought I portrayed him well in my head, I still feel he is hard to portray. (laughs)
Miyano: I feel the same way too. (laughs) After that, Mima-san said “It’s important for you two to have mutual trust in each other.” He always says it.
Umehara: He said that.
Miyano: Every time, I have to make sure I got it right, “How is it?” (laughs)
Umehara & Suzumura: Ahaha (laughs)
> Lastly, give a message to the fans who are waiting for the airing of “Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These” please!
Miyano: It’s about to be the start of a new take on a legendary-grade work, and I am glad to get to put myself in such a project. It’s exceedingly profound, I thought the role was not going to require me to invest my entire being and concentration into it. Even so, I can’t be the only one doing it alone. Especially this time, it also has dramatic conversations, that I myself need to think it through, while lending the ways from the senior voice actors, I look forward to portraying Reinhard. I hope everyone can feel our seriousness towards this work in this, and please look forward to it!
Umehara: It’s a project where all the cast and the staff members are putting in all their efforts into making this real. Personally, the me right now is waiting for the time when I could be the best, is what i think about while i look forward to the [next] recording. Even if you wanna view it through the way the Ishiguro-directed work or not, this is the first time I am in contact with “LOGH”, our “LOGH” might be someone’s first viewing of “LOGH”. That really makes me happy, it feels like my responsibility. Many people will view this work, and personally I look forward for it to air. Please support us from now on.
Suzumura: Making a new “LOGH” makes one wonder how long will it take, everyone here understands that. That’s why, it’s amazing to think that everyone is putting in all their efforts in this, even the most meager of calories. No doubt, when they finished the Ishiguro-directed version, definitely, at that time, they used a lot of calories to make it. As for us, right now, we may be standing at the same starting point, we will never surpass the Ishiguro-directed version. Out of respect, now, we will do our best until our last bit of energy to make “LOGH”, and what work will it turn out to be, its what I want to show. Yet, there’s obvious differences that can be seen. Well, even if i said such things I get nervous, but this throbbing won’t stop (laughs). But, “LOGH” is a work that you need to have resolution and courage, and you can’t be unable to move forward. I hope that people who liked the Ishiguro-directed version will watch it too, and the ones who watched “Die Neue These” for the first time will think “I should watch the Ishiguro version” and do so, it will make us extremely happy. We will make a work with a lot of love poured into it, cheer and support us on.
