Narinder jumps backward and barely avoids another swing of the ram’s massive ax. Azrael was always a large animal, but the Harpies have modified him to be even bigger and deadlier. That means a larger reach and even more powerful ax swings. Narinder isn’t sure what’ll happen to him if his former vessel gets a fatal hit in, but it can’t be anything good. It might automatically force him into the afterlife— and he’ll be stuck for good, until Hamal manages to recover his remains.

still kicking around

so, fun facts- I'm still here!

My life revolves around the school year, and my good laptop stopped taking a charge somewhere around winter break so I haven't been on tumblr since like... maybe spring break?

But I'm still kicking around doing my queer disabled stuff, being SUPER REPRESENTATIVE for my wee students who have no idea that queer disabled folks aren't part of the empowered majority.

Disabled life stuff:

-I tried a diazepam nose spray recently as a recovery med (instead of my usual dissolving lorazepam), and I gotta say it looks JUST LIKE NARCAN...

-so that's why I don't carry Narcan, even though it was offered to me free at Pride. The last thing I need is to accidentally treat myself for an OD when I need my epilepsy meds.

-I had an unrelated-to-epilepsy scary and painful outpatient surgery this spring. At this point I'm racking up some quality medical trauma and I'd rather process it, but this must be Therapy Season, bc the only person who wasn't fully booked could only see me on Friday afternoons- during which I am working. So I'll just keep on keeping on until further notice.

-The next person who tells my I'm so brave for traveling by myself will be bitten. I'm taking a vacation BY MYSELF this summer, bc I love traveling on my own and I'm a bossy traveling companion. And I'm not brave, I'm just bad at compromising.

-Similarly, the next person who says "Oh I could never," about any aspect of my life will also be bitten. People mean so well, and think they're complimenting me ("oh I could never eat as healthy as you do!") and it's so much bullshit. If you had to, you would. If the alternative was to feel completely awful, you would. Don't patronize me.
