This was all so new to John. He was used to hook up with a nice and pretty girl while on leave. Always searching company in a different bar, so he wouldn’t see the same girl again. Sharing some wonderful hours, drinking, laughing, and chasing their release. But this situation was indeed new to him. A one-night stand turned into two, and then he didn’t dare to leave in the morning and rather decided to wake you up with his mouth on you, the urge to taste you again was too carnal. What lead into a shared breakfast, what lead into traded numbers, before he left late on the third evening with a deep kiss, not daring to let go of you, but he had to go back to his duty.

This fateful one-night stand now turned into a friends-with-benefits kind of situation and is going on for merely six months. As soon as he had some time on base he’d call you, you’d send him pictures of things that reminded you of him. He’d send some worn shirts via mail and some flowers from time to time. You longed for him to get some time on leave again and feel his body wrapped around yours again. Late at night there was always a delicate picture of you in nothing more than a black lace pantie and one of his shirts attached to a short message. “Thinking only of you, Captain.”, which lead him to lock his office and call you instantly. You were so desperate for each other and still you respected the boundaries and duties of another.

It was nice and easy, all so casual. Both of you enjoyed the company and affection with no strings attached. Of course, no one of you saw someone else, to occupied with each other, but you didn’t label it yet. You didn’t have the time to have the deep talk right now. You just enjoyed each other, but all the time things weren’t meant to stay that easy. That’s how you found yourself seated surrounded with your two sisters. Once a month they would give their husbands the kids, so that the three of you could grab a coffee and catch up with out the screaming and running around from your nephews and nieces. You laughed and shared the latest gossip.

That’s when you received another message from John. Nothing more than a picture of a flower was seen on screen, but it was your favorite one. A smile tugged at your lips.  “Sweetheart…”, Isabelle, your older sister, said in a teasing tone. Your eyes darted back to hair while you put your phone back to the table, screen facing the wood. “Sorry. Where were we?”, you smiled and Isabelle and Caroline, your younger sister, exchanged knowing glances. “Real talk now. Who is he?”, Caro started. “Or she. We don’t discriminate.”, Isabelle added. You only blinked at them in confusing. “Excuse me?” – “Hun, you’re smiling like a madman at your screen. I didn’t even know you could smile like that.”, Isabelle said with a sweet voice while taking your hand and squeezing it. You blinked rapidly, the smile never falling out of your face.

“Since when you know?”, you didn’t even try to convince them otherwise. You knew they wouldn’t back down and you couldn’t deny that he indeed gave you butterflies with the smallest things. All the little messages, the little gifts. All so thoughtful, and somehow romantical. Something no one of your earlier partners managed to do. Not to mention how he worshipped you behind closed doors. “For five months. Especially when Mike saw you getting way too much take-out that one night, when you said you couldn’t look after Jim and Jill.”, Isabelle explained. You only laughed at this. Jim and Jill, your nephew and niece, twins, loved you like their own mother. Anytime Isabelle and Mike needed some couple time they would drop them at your place. “His name is John…”, both of your sisters instantly started gushing but you stopped them. “Please. It’s nothing official. Alright? We’re not even dating…” – “YET!”, Caro cried out excited. So, you spent the whole afternoon to talk about your not-boyfriend John Price, who was the sweetest guy ever. And you knew you had fallen for him. Since the moment he came back after your one night stand. A bouquet of your favorite flowers in one hand, and some of the best pizza your town had to offer in the other. Two things you mentioned only the slightest as he invited you for a drink. His usual manner, but with you it was different. He memorized every little detail you told him that night and would keep going with it. You told your sisters everything about him and they were nearly as excited to get to know to him, as you were excited to see him again. After some time, you three bid your goodbyes, after you got once more reminded that the annual family gathering would be this weekend.

You went after your normal daily routines. Working your nine to five, doing the household, running errands and the usual stuff an adult had to do. There was a bitter radio silence with John, because of his deployment. It somehow made you feel uneasy, but you knew he’d be safe. Friday came and you overslept. That’s how you forgot your phone at home, and even your prepared lunch. Not even able to make your bed, you left your apartment in completely hurry. To your fortune you could leave work earlier that day. That way you could pick up a quick meal, just a small smoothie, on your way to the boutique where you picked a dress for the family gathering. When you got back to your apartment, something felt off. You couldn’t remember that you left the light on. Maybe you forgot about it when you rushed out this morning, but still something felt weird. Even weirder when you smelled something familiar. As you walked into the living room you cried out, when suddenly two strong and calloused hands got grip of your hips and pulled you around. “Surprise.”, a familiar deep voice was heard. You just looked at the beaming face of John and before you could even answer your hands pulled him down into a deep kiss. His hands squeezing your hips, while his lips turned into a bright smile. His beard tingling over your skin and both of you started giggling like little children. “That’s not what I left you the spare key for. It’s for emergencies, John.”, you said while he peppered kisses along your jawline, down your neck, while your head fell slightly back. “Love, that was an emergency. Needed to see you.”, he said between the kisses. His voice mixed with the little nibs sent shivers down your spine. “I’ve missed you.”, you breathed out and he hummed in approval. “Missed my girl as well.”, he said, while lifting you up like you weighted nothing. Your legs immediately wrapped around his torso while he carried you over to the couch. His mouth never stopping to kiss down your neck and suck at your soft skin.

“John.”, you moaned, and he lowered you beneath him. “I know. I know.”, he kept sucking onto your neck, and you could feel the sensation burning in your stomach. Just then you got reminded of something different. You gently pushed his shoulders away from you and he instantly stopped. Concern in his eyes, while he looked down at you. “What’s wrong, love?”, he pushed himself up to give you more space. You smiled at him and kissed him once more. Just quick before sitting up, and he sat next to you. “Please, don’t think I’m not happy to see you…but…”, his brows arched, and his hand found yours. “But?” – “It’s not the best time right now… my weekend is quite tight scheduled.” That’s when he looked confused at you. John knew that you had your own life, and that you shouldn’t need to drop every appointment just because he had some time off, some time he wanted to spend with you. Still, his heart hurt when he asked the following question. “Don’t tell me, you’re seeing someone else.” You only blinked in disbelief at him, instantly placing your hands on his cheeks. “No. No don’t think that. I could never.”, you assured him, and you could see how the panic vanished out of his eyes.

“Good. That’s good.”, he smiled relieved, while taking one of your hands in his and kissed every knuckle after another. “I can just wait here for you. It’s only fair when you’ve to wait all the time for me.”, his words brushed over your skin, and it made your heart jump. He was so understanding, so sweet. “But I won’t be coming home. I’m gonna spend the weekend with my family at the land house of my grandparents.”, you said quietly. A little ‘oh’ formed on his lips and he fell in his thoughts. And so did you. Too scared to ask him to come with you, but god you wanted to call your family to screw them. You wanted to spend the time with him. He wasn’t your boyfriend; you couldn’t just bring him with you. All the question he would have to endure. He slightly squeezed your hand. “What…what when I come with you?”, you immediately looked up at him. Your eyes filled with sheer surprise. “You sure you want that?”  He laughed at your concern and pulled you into his lap. Tracing lazy circles on your back. “It would make you happy, wouldn’t it?”, he said looking up to you and you nodded slowly. A reserved smile forming on his lips. You pressed your forehead against his and breathed a small “Thank you.” out, before you went to the bedroom to get your phone and call Isabelle. To make sure, it would be manageable.

Just like that John found himself surrounded by screaming little children, nonstop talking grandparents and sisters who couldn’t stop tugging at his elbow asking him the weirdest and filthiest questions. The annual Christmas evening with his team was easier than that. But anytime his eyes met your figure, just appreciating the view, glancing over the perfect fitted dress in the same dark royal green he adored on you so much, the same color all the shirts he sent you were. Not to mention the wonderful cut out cleavage that already made him drool when he first saw it on you this morning. And anytime he would meet your glance, a smile tugging at your lips, and he knew it was worth going through this.

“So how long are you dating?”, Caro asked him with a smile on her lips. “For about six months.”, he answered not even looking at her. His eyes were pinned on the way you playfully danced with you little nephew on your arms right now. He adored the view too much. The sheer thought that someday it might be your – his - own child you’d sway in your arms. It made his heart jump. “Interesting.”, she only said smug. That’s what caught his attention more. “Pardon?” – “Well, my sweetheart of sister said, that you aren’t dating. Just testing waters and stuff.”, she rose a brow playfully at him and he laughed. “Of course.”, he shook his head. He never told you, but he was obsessed with the thought of calling you his, and his alone. You awakened a longing in him, that he thought he never had. Growing from sexual pleasure to pure intimacy. Into something even more. You became the reason for him to return. You became the home to his soul. “Something else she told you?”, he asked sipping on his drink. “Don’t wanna push your ego, but that you’re the best one she ever had.” A wide smile tugging at his lips, not even his neat beard could cover now. “That’s reciprocity.” His smile even grew wider when you walked over to them. Jim on your arms, the boy clinging onto the hem of your dress. Isabelle, next to you with Jill in her arms.

John didn’t wait any second to sling an arm around your waist, not disturbing the peace of the little boy, but pulling you close in his side. A slight blush crawling around your cheeks. It was the first time he actual showed some PDA at the festive. It made your stomach flutter. “What were you talking about.”, Isabelle asked bluntly, while handing her daughter to Caro. “Nothing. Nothing at all.”, John smiled, and you rose a brow at him. Not believing a word he said.

Just then your mum, and grandma also joined the circle you just had formed. That’s when Jim once more confused you for his own mother. Tugging at one of your breasts and it made you giggle. You were used to the little boy trying to get your attention that way. Usually, his mother would feed him when he started that little act, already trying to tear the hem of your dress a bit downward. Something so innocent and natural for the little boy, wat didn’t go unnoticed by John. He couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous. It wasn’t your kid; he shouldn’t behave like that around someone else than his own mother. So, he leaned down to the kid. "That one belongs to me kid, go back to your own mum's", and whispered to him. It made your giggle stop immediately and your cheeks were now burning from heat. When you hoped nobody heard it, you were wrong. Isabelle and Caroline just laughed wholehearted, while Isabelle took the boy out of your arms. Your hands immediately covering your face, while he pulled you closer in his side. Leaning down to your ear and whispering really low this time. “Am I wrong though, love?”, he kissed your cheek before leaning back again. “What did he just said?”, your grandma asked and now your mom joined the laughter of your sisters. “Nothing.” You cried out louder than necessary. John placed another peck onto the crown of your head, the winning smile never leaving his face. “John, move over here!.”, Mike yelled over, and he walked satisfied over to the patio, where Mike, your father and Caroline’s husband, Maxime where seated. Your mom just pushed her elbow in his side, “He’s a good catch. Hold on to him.”, you looked over, as he gladly accepted a cigar from your father. The blush was still on your cheeks, but a genuine smile was plastered on your lips. She was right.

It was quite late when John and you found a moment of peace with each other. Sitting on the patio, while your grandma was already deep asleep. Isabella and Mike already left with their children and Caro and Maxime dancing slowly a bit away, while your parents watched them, cuddled up at the swing hammock. John had his arms tightly wrapped around you, while you laid against his chest. Head leaning against him, his resting on top of yours, while you just enjoyed each other’s company. He then broke the silence, some thoughts he had to get out of his system. “Sorry, if I stepped a line.”, he breathed out calm, letting his hands stroke gently over your arms. “Don’t worry. Just seems like you’re stuck with the family already. Need to marry me now. No backing out from that one.”, you said jokingly. Remembering how much all your family already adored him. He indeed was the first guy you ever brought to such a gathering. He kissed the crown of your head. “If you let me, love.”, he said calm. There was no joking undertone, no smug grin on his face. That’s when you turned to face him, an utterly shocked expression on your face. It only made him giggle, before his pressed another kiss onto your forehead. A smile on his face. “Maybe we should start smaller than that, huh?” Your face relaxed when he let his lips brush over yours once more. Sensual, with all the love he had in him. “But I’m gonna make you mine. Be sure about that.”, he said while leaning his forehead against yours. “I’m already yours, John.” A bright smile never leaving your lips as you nodded, a smile he shared with no hesitation. Who said it wouldn’t be easy after all? With him at your side, everything became better and somehow easier.

Ok, that was A LOT. I have so many feelings but no coherence so i'm gonna do this bullet point form but def not in order, just in order of me remembering wtf happened lol

-IZZY AND WEE JOHN IN DRAG!!!!! Wee John looked STUNNING with that Divine-esque appearance and Izzy had that transmasc drag king kind of thing going on (iykyk) that made me love him even more

-Izzy singing LA VI EN ROSE took me tf out!!! i'm glad he got to finish it after the *ahem* distractions bc Con's voice is so beautiful I could listen to it forever. We better get it in the album!!! Also someone posted the lyrics translated and i cannot get over the lyrics:

-But in all seriousness i feel like this whole thing in ep 7 was such a parallel to s1 but also a very necessary bit of conflict in their journey together that was bound to happen. THey want different things and neither is wrong or right for that. Stede did react poorly tho but like he just had sex w the love of his life, his first man, and Ed the very next day is like "aight i'm out". I'd be pissed too. After killing someone which we know is a big trigger for him historically.

But Ed also had a valid reaction. He's wanted to retire for a while and stede knows this but it hasn't seemed to have sunk in quite yet. He fears that Stede only sees Blackbeard and...its fair of him to have that impression tbh. These are two messy, traumatized dudes who have never had a real relationship and there's gonna be bumps. I hope we get s3 so we can better explore that like Djenks wants.

OK so first things first—i love him sm T_T seeing julie in danger really affected him and he went into the fucking tunnels for her ??? NO ONE is allowed to call this guy selfish anymore okay. now that being said

that's NOT tom!!!! and that's not abby!!!! and that wasn't khatri!!!!!! i hope the small "conversation" (boyd left him on read lmao) on the porch is the start of some jade and boyd plot thread for s3 because they need to talk about this. i wonder if more people will start seeing dead people in s3? i wonder if jade will see tobey...

anyway those visions are clearly trying to manipulate them. the khatri and tom ones alone could pass as neutral but the abby one this episode? hell no!! the vision was trying to convince boyd that the kind thing to do was to let them die 💀💀💀 i wonder if this is also what christopher saw?

and wtf was up with the angkhooey kids! the fuck were they doing in the tunnels! tabitha already saw one of them down there at the beginning of the season but it's really interesting that jade saw the same thing tabitha saw... that's definitely new! he also confirmed that his visions were showing him real things when he touched the ventriloquist doll... which we already knew, but what does that say about the soldiers? all the stuff about the stories... much to think about there 🤔

ok let me start by saying i think this is possibly the best direction they could've gone with the character development on the show. the GAPING HOLE that tabby's absence is going to leave???? for her children and most importantly for jim since he's lately been making an enemy of pretty much everyone else? she's the only one that's really gotten through both victor and jade too... her going missing is going to be so fucking palpable

i posted a theory that jade might be getting out of fromville in the finale right after watching ep9 because i figured that if someone had the resources to do anything from the outside it would be jade with his money and access to tech, but i guess my love for jade was just blinding me because this makes a lot more narrative sense

i've been seeing people speculate that tabitha is going to find eloise and i'm suscribing to that. she's got the lunchbox to prove she knew victor in case eloise lost her memory or something—but i have no idea how the two of them might be able to do anything. it's not gonna be easy

we can't even jump to the conclusion that eloise actually made it out. i think she did make it to the tower (victor's mom probably got her in the tree before the creatures got her) but the glass wasn't broken before the biw pushed tabby so i see no proof that anyone else walked the same steps all the way through before her

i can't stress this enough btw i need —need— jim and jade to become friends like jim's gonna have no choice but to lean on people outside of his family now and his recent antics got a lot of people pretty upset. jim and jade have a lot in common including caring for tabby so i can see them teaming up to look for her at the very least. jim's gonna have to accept victor now whether he likes it or not and thank god for mama liu because without her i think all three of these men would be fucked and i mean it. can they even cook i don't think so

i could talk about these dynamics literally forever (and i will) but now its time to move on to the next

ngl i kind of get him like no one was treating him like they would've treated a main character after such a devastating event i can kind of see why he snapped all things considered. he was right to blame boyd too but look at least boyd was trying, boyd taking on his gambles is what got them the talismans and what got a nightmare creature dead, he's one fucking man okay give him a break

i was TERRIFIED during the wedding scene it was so beautiful (the vows really got to me) but i kept expecting gunshots to interrupt it like i legit thought reggie was gonna somehow manage to kill everyone downstairs or a bunch of people at least. thank GOD he was dumb enough to go for boyd first that's like going straight for the boss in a videogame

also whats with the throat slicing in this show istg everyone here dies of a sliced throat lmaooo is it really that easy to kill someone or to get killed? unsettling. i'm gonna start wearing a neck brace everywhere. they should sell plate armor chokers i'd get one

i don't know how i'm supposed to simply do a tng update when there was SPOCK but obviously last night (tonight as i type this, but it's late, so this post is going up while i'm at work) we watched unification part i & part ii

part i: BITTERLY disappointed that all we got out of this episode spockwise was one blurry photo and him coming in right at the end. i had a feeling they'd do that. i guess now i have to talk about the nonimportant nonspock parts of this episode 🥱

ive decided i hate sarek's new wife. what business is it of hers if spock objects to sarek in public? if sarek didn't have a problem with it why make one? evil stepmother fr. why did sarek marry another human anyway does he have a fucking fetish or something...at least she was too old to get knocked up. i was reading about ages on the wiki today and amanda was only TWENTY YEARS OLD when she had spock. sarek would have been 65. i know vulcans age way different so it's not as creepy but STILL. girl, wait until you are old enough to drink

speaking of sarek...i went back and forth feeling terrible for him and wanting to attack him with my bare hands. under one hand he is on his deathbed and obviously very ill and miserable and suffering deep regrets over past mistakes and it's hard not to have sympathy...on the other, maybe if you wanted less deathbed regrets about your relationship with spock YOU SHOULD HAVE TREATED HIM BETTER! bitch.

also, whatever he and picard had going on was homoerotic. "we're part of each other" why do they talk about the mind meld that way in tng and not in tos. why did picard feel up sarek's hand on his deathbed the second his wife looked away. hes got a history of homewrecking since he (i know) had his affair baby wesley with beverly. so Whats Going On

picard forcefully obtaining the klingon ship. i LOVE when he gets to be a bitch

ROMULAN RACEFAKING??? a proud star trek tradition at this point i guess but it was truly awful to behold. DEEPLY disappointed sela did not later lick the paint off his ears as the klingons implied she would. smh

i like also how riker blew up that whole ship and nobody batted an eyelash. he really can just do whatever

part ii: SPOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the first time i cried was when spock himself came onscreen at the end of part i. then just as soon as i collected myself he mentioned jim kirk twice in the space of 30 seconds and i lost it again. we are literally bridging the gap between tos spock and spock prime from aos rn and i Dont like it.

Very Sad his dad kicked it before they could reconcile. but i saw his microexpressions when picard delivered the news. i missed them more than you can possibly imagine

i did love though that he started viewing picard as like a proxy sarek. imagine having daddy issues with a guy who is 75 years younger than you. lowkey they also had a little homoeroticism happening. "cowboy diplomacy" sure whatever

riker and the four-armed pianist 10/10 i hope they fucked. i'm so glad we wont he riker roulette and it wasn't creepy. also only riker could successfully flirt with a women after killing her husband in a spaceship battle <3

i'm a little iffy on spock's uhhh whole deal in this episode. he's lik yeah i chose the vulcan way of life these romulans are gonna have way better lives after their vulcan enlightenment but meanwhile he's criticizing sarek for his obsession with logic to the exclusion of all emotion (which is what he decided in tmp, that you need both) and also the vulcan way of life has done huge damage to his relationship with his father as well. so which is it?? idk, maybe he's not doing well because of sarek dying and all but he seemed like he was in a very "im not willing to acknowledge that i have emotions because rn theyre causing me pain" sort of mood. buddy :(

then again, it IS a tng script. we can only expect so much. it wasn't so inconsistent that it took me out of the episode but it did bother me a little because i just don't understand why he's willing to devote the rest of his life to this cause...he seemed to imply he had emotional reasons but what were they?? we will quite literally never know.

what's wack to me also is that in nineteen years romulus is gonna be GONE. like it's just going to be gone. eaten up by the sun or whatever. if someone had a baby right now on romulus that baby would not be old enough to drink before the sun swallowed them. so everything spock is doing is for nothing.

sela in this episode was really funny. "i hate vulcans." so true queen. i mean i don't care about her at all but that was hilarious

data doing the vulcan nerve pinch!!!!!!! that was so fun. i don't think it requires telepathy to do, just super strength, but i guess if you do then that makes no sense. it made me happy though.

the end when spock melded with picard to quasi-meld with his father and almost wept was me crying for the third time...i couldn't stand seeing him cry!!!!!! i can't believe sarek really just died without ever reconciling with him but i kind of like it better this way bc what sarek did was his own fault not spock's. so spock got closure and sarek. didn't. rip dude

alright here are my headcanons for each of the couples on “the revenge” because i’m going Insane

jim and oluwande

THE TWO OF THEM ARE SO UNDER APPRECIATED

they’re both written SO well and i love the friends to lovers arc

anyway yeah headcanon time

i think at first, jim just sees their relationship as “friends with benefits” meanwhile oluwande sees a lot more

i hope their past gets explored more, like where they met and such

jim’s love language is definitely acts of service. that and gift giving. they’re definitely the person to gift you random bones they found

oluwande loves quality time. he doesn’t really need to be doing anything special for him to be happy. being around jim is enough (although he doesn’t mind going on fancier outings)

jim is very protective of oluwande, and vice versa. they have an amazing mutual respect for each other

communication is a little rough because jim’s super closed off and oluwande can be pushy. but they both learn to give each other space when need be, and talk it out when they feel more comfortable

lucius and black pete

okay i’ll admit i didn’t like them very much in my first watch through

but the two of them?? probably my favorite relationship

LOVE seeing an open relationship with great communication and still a lot of love between the two

definitely have grown on me

as mentioned before, the two of them have an open relationship. however i do think lucius still loves black pete, and more so just doesn’t want to be tied down

black pete understands this. he wants lucius to be happy, and he knows lucius still loves him

lucius’s love language is physical touch. ik ik, very obvious, but i do truly think he just loves being as close as he can to black pete.

his other one is probably words of affirmation. lucius is a very expressive person and likes to shower black pete in compliments and kind words. maybe black pete doesn’t get every word he says, but it still means a lot to him nonetheless

black pete, along with being words of affirmation, is gift giving. he often gives lucius little things he’s made (also, ADORE the wooden finger scene), or pretty rocks he’s collected on their journeys

their relationship in general is very trusting and comfortable. maybe i just like relationships with good communication who knows.

the two of them LOVE pda, especially black pete, and make sure to make a show of it when they can (particularly when izzy was around)

the one that sparked this post: ed and stede

they’re probably gonna get their own text post at some point cause Ho Boy

before i begin, big FUCKING shoutout to david jenkins and taiki waititi for writing a queer relationship that doesn’t center on them being queer. for all of them, it focuses on the people in the relationship rather than the relationship itself. it’s so nice to see and it fills me with such hope for more of this in the future

okay now onto my rambles (i’m so sorry)

ed is super insecure underneath his scary facade (another huge applause to the directors for writing a character that’s always been complicated and makes me go “me fr”). he obviously deals with a lot of trauma and anxiety from being a pirate and his past in general. and what stede is REALLY good at is distressing situations. stede will just sit with ed when he’s feeling overwhelmed or afraid. the ocassional whispers of affirmations and soft touches helps cool down ed

on the flip side, stede deals with stress in a much more volatile way. he usually will have a burst of panic and try to run from situations. at first, this scares ed and makes him worried for their relationship. but after a while, he realizes stede always comes back. when stede is stressed, edward gives him some space, and when he comes back, talk over the feelings over a cup of tea. edward makes sure to let stede talk everything out before he adds his input. and no matter how small the worry is, ed treats everything with the same respect

each of them have memorized their strange and particular tastes/habits. stede’s memorized how edward likes each of his particular drinks, and when he likes to eat (edward has really inconsistent eating schedules). edward has memorized where each of stede’s books and clothes go after they’ve been borrowed or stede gets too tired to put them away. most of the time, these things are done without more than a nod or a small smile. it’s just become instinct.

both of them really love quality time with each other. normally they’re eventful, like sword fighting (or sword fighting 😏), going on adventures, etc. but sometimes, when they’re just too tired or it’s late, they’ll just sit. stede will read a book, ed will lay next to him and sharpen his knife. just anything to have the gentle lull of their breathing match.

they also both love just listening to each other talk. all the most meaningless things to their pasts to possible future raids. one will continue to talk on as the other one lays down and listens quietly. when ed is feeling particularly shitty, he’ll just lay his head in stede’s lap and listen to him read a story. ed will tell tales as stede cleans up his quarters.

edward is VERY particular to physical touch. he doesn’t like being touched by strangers, not even by izzy or jack. with stede it’s different. he clings to stede, almost like he’s making sure he doesn’t leave again. sometimes it catches stede off guard, but he always gives ed what he wants. ed also loves when stede sits and fixes his hair. the feeling of all of his knots melting away as stede rambles is a moment he wants to live in forever

stede isn’t ever specific about how he wants to receive love. he often takes whatever edward gives. but eventually, ed figures out stede really, really, really likes words of affirmation. edward will notice when stede’s down and will offer a simple and kind compliment. often times, it’s a compliment that relates to what he’s done rather than his appearance. ed’s not very good at being gentle, but when he is it means the world to stede

their biggest issue, besides fear of abandonment and troves of lasting trauma, is their discomfort with being open. ed is a ticking time bomb, and stede pushes down his emotions. the start of their relationship is extremely rocky. neither of them know how to handle each other in a healthy way. after many fights and talking things over, they’ve finally learned that they have personal demons that they have to deal with, but it’s NEVER an excuse to take it out on each other. after a while, they know how to solve problems by letting emotions ride out first before they’re able to smooth it over.

yeah so anyway these all live in my head and there’s SO much more. please someone talk to me about this show-

Fic Writer Interview Meme

fandoms: Marvel in many forms, mostly the comics and MCU with a very deep love for the Ultimates. Also The Magicians (more the books than the show), Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (where I mostly watch from the sidelines), and lately Genshin Impact.

two-shot: I would say I have only one I would really count as such which is Latent Phallacy (MCU, Stuckony). (It was originally a one-shot but this was the one time were people asking for a second chapter actually inspired something)

most popular fics: That is Feeling Good Was Easy (MCU, Bucky/Loki/Tony) by far. (I think it has a lot to that it updated twice a week for three months...)

actual worst part of writing: The one where either I can't even remember why I started the thing in the first place or where I remember why the story idea was good but suddenly forgot how to write. Either of these happens several times a month...

how you choose your titles: I have started to like picking titles more, but also am less obsessed with finding the perfect one now. I try to play around a bit with what the story is about and see if that can be phrased interestingly. Also, song titles XD

do you outline: Yes, no, maybe. A method that works for outlining for me is something I have tried to hunt down for several years now. I usually have a lot of notes all over the place (notebook, random pieces of paper, my notes app, discord chats, my writing program...) and then go from there. Only definite rule after a bad experience: I don't start to write something anymore if I don't know how it ends. That way lies pain.

ideas you probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice: My idea folder is plentiful, but the ones that are the furthest away but I still think about them a lot MCU, Bucky/Loki/Tony: The Wintersoldier and Loki are the villains that the Avengers just can't beat for good. One day they kidnap Tony and he finds out that a) they are a couple, b) the Wintersoldier is Bucky Barnes, and c) who's the villain depends which side you're on. 616, Steve/Tony: The Headmen have been weirdly active lately, and Steve really needs to get to bottom of that, especially since they have been targeting Mr. Stark. But somehow Iron Man seems weirdly unworried about his boss being in danger. Steve starts to believe it might be because there is more between his best friend and the Avenger's benefactor than they tell them.

callouts @ me: You need to remember that you write for fun. And you know that your motivation is fickle, so don't try to force it with a crowbar.

best writing traits: Ooof. I think I have great ideas for smut XD I also can tell an intriguing story if I find it first.

legend of zelda: ive been associated with this series from a very young age due to my name and as soon as i gave into my fate and looked it up for real i just kinda fell into it lol. i cant really tell you exactly what draws me to it besides ‘wow fun game!’ and ‘god i wish that were me,’ but like the absurd amount of detail thats put into each installment and the creative ways they retell essentially the same/similar story over and over is incredible

guardians of gahoole: so i had the same experience with this and treasure planet which is i remembered ‘oh hey this is a movie that exists and i cant clearly remember watching it, ill look it up :)’ and then it consumed my life for a solid 3 months. firstly this movie is absolutely gorgeous, the animation and framing is fucking stunning and the way they handled owls talking like people as far as the movement of their very inflexible beaks was amazing. it sort of has the same draw for me as warrior cats? secret animal society ft incredibly traumatic experiences and the characters dealing with it. like, the whole concept is just so fuckign wild and it works so well, i rly enjoy this niche genre.

💎 - alright trivia time, so guardians of gahoole is based on a book series and the movie only covers part of the first arc i think idk, BUT theres another series set in the same universe called wolves of the beyond that i devoured when i was younger! i didnt know they were connected for the longest time and when i found out i was :000, i still rly love wolves of the beyond and wanna reread it, as well as read the actual gahoole books. in the howls books, sophie is a redhead! also, markl is named michael and like a fully functioning young adult who ends up marrying one of sophies sisters. treasure planet is, obviously, based off treasure island but its so much better than the book dont bother reading it lol i tried and it was boring. there was plans for a treasure planet sequel that was fully scripted and cast but it was cancelled cause disney sabotaged treasure planet from the start with the shitty release and advertising and tldr we were ROBBED, also amelias concept was much more octopus like and while that wldve been rad im p glad she was switched to a cat for. several reasons lol. uhh i dont have a lot of Fun Facts abt the unicorn chronicles but for the longest time i thought there were only 3 books and then last year i found the fourth book by chance in a kitsch store and nearly had a breakdown i was so happy, like full on i started shaking and crying cause there was so much joy in my body i cldnt contain it.

Hey everybody! So this is that rami x reader (with a dash of freddie feels) I was talking about earlier! It’s not done, so I guess this is chapter 1? I’ve never cut a fic into chapters before because I’m a stubborn perfectionist but like. Eh. Ya know? Thanks to everyone who told me to go ahead and post this! Also, if anybody would be interested in a tag list, hit me up. I’ve never done one before but I think I can grasp the concept, haha! Anyways, here we go! (pls let me know if you like it, fr)

You're the daughter of Jim Hutton, so growing up was a roller coaster. With Freddie as practically a second father, things were never boring. But time passed and things changed. Everything changed. Not knowing how to process any of your past, you flee to the states in an attempt to write music and find yourself. It pretty much turns into instant isolation! That all changes when you get a call from your Uncle Bri about a movie being made on Freddie. Secrets come to light and you just might find yourself falling in love with the boy with the beautiful eyes along the way.

You’re alone when you get the call. You’re alone a lot these days, but you work best without the distraction of friends pulling you out to party and get drunk every other night. Besides, you really want to focus on this latest song you’ve been writing. You just can’t seem to get the bridge right, the chord progression is off in the tiniest way and for the life of you, you can’t figure out why. Suffice to say it’s been driving you absolutely mad.

Your eyes light up when you strum the new experimental chord you’ve thrown in, but you’re interrupted by the harsh ringtone of your cell.

“Goddammit” you mumble to yourself and sigh as you put your guitar down on top of its case. You look over and feel yourself involuntarily smiling at the contact name. It’s Uncle Bri, you wonder what he’s up to these days. It’s been a while since you’ve heard from him. Too long, actually. That’s hardly his fault, you’re aware of the fact that you’re isolating yourself but you really can’t really garner up the energy to care, as bad as it sounds. You pull yourself out of your thoughts and reach over to answer the phone.

“Hey, Uncle Bri!”

“(y/n)! I’m glad I got a hold of you! How are you doing, my dear? We miss you!”

“Aww, I miss you guys too! I can’t complain! I’ve been working on my music a lot, so that’s been taking up the majority of my life at the moment” you sigh, suddenly wishing you’d have managed your time better. You really do miss your goofy Uncles.

“Ahhh, just like good ol’ Freddie, I see” you can hear the smile toying with his voice.

“I wouldn’t go as far as to say that”

“Well, I would,” he says triumphantly. “Anyways, do you have any serious, unmovable plans for the next, oh, say 8 or so months?” you can hear the grin in his voice.

“Um, not that I know of...” you say, although it comes out more as of a question

“Perfect! Then I’ll be flying you over here to the UK pronto. You’ve got work to do” he says and hangs up in a haste.

You pull the phone down and stare at it. That was. Odd.

It’s not until later you realize that this is all for that movie that you’ve been hearing rumors about for months. You weren’t sure if it was actually happening or not, you feel like you definitely should have considering who you are, but Uncle Bri certainly wouldn’t be uprooting your life for anything unimportant. You’ve settled into a nice routine over in the states. For a movie this important though, this central to who you are, you’d be upset if you weren’t involved.

If you were being completely honest with yourself, you don’t remember as much about your father’s partner as you wish you did. Let’s be real though, he was practically your second dad, he raised you until you were almost seven. You have faint memories of calling him papa. Your dad didn’t love it at first, he was probably worried about what Freddie thought. He, of course, absolutely adored it and as well as he adored you. So, papa, he was.

The memories you do have, you wouldn’t trade for the world. For the entire world. Some of your favorites were Freddie making you breakfast and cuddling on the couch. He would always read to you before bed and find your favorite stuffed bear before tucking you in and pecking your forehead. Sometimes, your favorite nights, he would sing you to sleep. You were probably too old for lullabies, but Freddie never failed to deliver, not even towards the end. His favorite song to sing you was I Was Born to Love You. He sang it slow and soft, making sure you took every word to heart. Sometimes you dream about it, wishing for just one more day together with the two of them.

You don’t have much to do on the hellish flight ahead of you, so you pull up the folder you keep on your phone of pictures of your dad and Freddie. They looked just as happy as they were. You smile as you scroll through them, pictures the world hasn’t seen. Pictures of the two with their cats, pictures of all three of you together.

You feel your eyes mist up when you get to one of your favorites. At first glance, it appears to be the most mundane thing in the world, but to you it’s everything. Freddie’s balancing you on his hip and he’s got his other arm wrapped around your father, kissing his cheek.

“Oh, fuck” you mutter under your breath, tearing yourself away from the grainy image. You’re finally realizing just how difficult consulting on this movie is actually going to be. You miss your dad and you miss Freddie more than words can say.

You never really dealt with your fathers' death nearly a decade ago. Freddie’s death probably messed you up in more ways that you’re even able to conceptualize because you were so young at the time. He was just a part of you. A part of your history. A part of who you were and who you are.

You’ve got a lot of shit to work through, and god, you hope you’ll be able to hold it together for just a while longer. This movie is important to the two most important people to you. You’re certainly not going to ruin your chance at making it the best it can be because you can’t look at the main character of the film without losing it.

You swallow the lump in your throat and reach down to rummage through your bag for your headphones. You close the photos app and pull up Spotify instead. Zoning out and distracting yourself with music is always how you’ve dealt with the brunt of your emotional issues since practically the beginning of time. The second the first note rings out, you feel a weight lift off of your shoulders and you sigh in relief as you settle in for a long ride.

You’re pretty damn sure that finally getting off the stuffy plane and stretching your legs is the best feeling in the world. You’re instantly proven wrong though when you spot your uncles waiting for you. They’ve got a dorky sign with “(y/n) Hutton” scrawled across it with a few shaky hearts at the bottom. You can’t help but chuckle, your heart swelling at the gesture.

You quicken your pace and when they notice you barreling towards them, your clunky bags in tow, their faces light up. Their sign and your suitcases are instantly ditched in place of Uncle Rog opening his arms up for you to crash into. Of course, you do, without a second thought and you hold on tight. It feels like if you don’t, he’ll disappear right out from under you.

“Oh, love, how are you? How are you, really?” Uncle Rog says, pulling you away from him to study your face. You sheepishly avoid eye contact, aware that these two know you better than most.

“You know, we do worry about you. More than you think.” Uncle Bri chimes in, responding to your silence. He then reaches over and takes his turn to pull you into a hug. You close your eyes and bury your head in his shoulder. You barely muster the strength needed to keep your voice from shaking.

“I know. I just missed you guys, is all” you break away and get your bearings together. Out of the corner of your eye, you notice the two sharing a skeptical glance, but luckily they drop it for now.

To say the studio was huge would be an understatement. You’d never dealt with anything this major in your entire life, sure you’d been going to your Uncle’s concerts since you were little. That was different though, that was second nature. Music has always been second nature. This? This is a different world, man. There are more… rules. You’ve never been one for rules.

So far, you’ve been introduced to a lot of the key players in the movie, big execs and such. They’ve all been very graceful and polite if not slightly intimidated by you, which you find hilarious. You still haven’t met any of the actors yet, but you’d been given their names and have already done extensive googling. They all seem like the perfect people for the parts.

You’d actually seen a bit of Rami, Freddie’s actor’s, work in the past. The Night at the Museum trilogy is a goddamn classic and your friends have forced you to watch a couple of episodes of Mr. Robot. So you’re definitely excited, if not a little nervous, to meet the boys.

It’s almost like the universe can read your mind because when you and your uncles turn the corner, there they are. You can tell they’ve met before because Rami, and if you remember correctly, Joe are waving and they all walk over.

“(y/n), you haven’t met the boys yet, have you?” Uncle Bri asks, and before you have the time to answer, he’s introducing you to them respectively. You do your best to remember who is who, it shouldn’t be too hard but this would not be a great situation to slip up. There’s Ben, Joe, Gwilym, and finally, you reach Rami.

His eyes are even more striking in person. You think he’s saying something but you can’t hear a word of it. A poke on your shoulder pulls you out of your trance and you realize you’ve been staring at him for a longer amount of time than would be considered socially acceptable. You glance over at Uncle Bri, a thanks for snapping you out of whatever that was.

“Oh gosh, I’m sorry! Zoned out there for a second, it was a long flight” you grin and do your best to sound casual but you’re definitely rattled from your mistake. You almost let out a sigh of relief when you see Rami’s warm smile.

“Don’t worry about it, I totally understand. You flew in from the states, right? That ten-hour flight can be brutal” you nod and he continues. “Anyways, I was just saying how much of an honor it is to be playing Freddie and if there’s anything you ever need or want to talk in regards of the script or characterization, I’m always here. You probably have more influence than me when it comes to that actually, but the offer is always on the table! The same goes for all of us.” He gestures at his castmates and they all nod accordingly. He sounds incredibly sincere and it’s impossible not to grin.

“I really appreciate that, guys. I’m here if any of you need anything too! If you need help going over your lines or if you have any questions about my uncles, dad or my experience with Freddie as a father figure, I’d be more than happy to let you in on everything I know” You’re not, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but why else are you here?

You hear a chorus of thank you’s and wave at them as they rush off to hair and makeup, already late. You look down and try to swallow a smile, you’d be lying to yourself if you tried to pretend it wasn’t endearing. The three of you continue down your path and you feel Uncle Rog bump into you.

“You okay, (y/n)?” he says, trying poorly to hide his shit-eating grin. Oh god, what does he think he knows now?

“Yeah, I’m fine. Just tired…” you taper off when you notice the look the two give each other.

“Okaaay, whatever you say,” he says in a sing-songy voice. You groan and roll your eyes.

“Well I don’t know about you two, but I’m gonna go explore the set,” you say, trying to get a minute to yourself. It’s just all been a little overwhelming and the last thing you need is your uncles scheming over whatever it is they’re scheming over because if there’s anything you know, it’s that look.

“Have fun, love. We’ll be here if you need us” Uncle Bri reminds you for the thousandth time. You thank him and wander off on your own.

As the days go by, you fall into a routine. They don’t need you there at a specific time so you definitely consider yourself lucky in that regard. All of the actors have to be at hair and makeup typically at around 6. You shuffle in at a comfortable 10, say hi to anyone who isn’t currently working on a scene, and hide away in one of the back rooms with the writers.

The script has already been put out of course, but they still meet every day to talk about potential revisions or go over their work with the rest of the cast and crew. While definitely on different sides of the globe from each other, what they do isn’t very far from what you do. At least it’s on the same planet. Which would be a first in this new world of Hollywood. So you’d say things are going pretty smoothly. You haven’t yet had to dig deep and reveal anything about yourself or your history that you didn’t want to.

Of course, though, the universe can’t let you stay comfortable for very long. It needs to have its fun in throwing you for a loop just once you think you’ve got things figured out. This loop comes in the form of none other than Rami Malek. At first, that is.

It starts like any other day. You come into the studio in your baggy hoodie, with your messy hair strewn everywhere, and your headphones in with the volume up as loud as it will go. You yawn and scrub at your eyes. You were up pretty late working on that same damn song, it’s just been eating away at you. The day you figure out how that bridge works will be a goddamn national holiday in your book. You groan and continue down the winding hallways.

When Rami comes up behind you and taps your shoulder, you jump out of your skin and your soul just about leaves your body. You rip your headphones out and turn around to see him giggling like a toddler and you gasp, grasping your chest dramatically.

Your heart flutters at the carefree expression on his face and you swallow down and try to ignore the emotions so obviously bubbling up to the surface. You can’t help but stare though, it’s not your fault that he’s absolutely breathtaking. You’re confident that his jawline could cut steel. This time, your admiration slides and he doesn’t notice because he’s still pulling himself together after the little incident.

He’s wearing Freddie’s angry lizard jacket and he’s got the fake teeth in. He’s the spitting image of Freddie and it honestly would have been a little jarring if it weren’t for him being so warm and open, squashing any possible nerves you may have before they even have the time to fully form.

“Sorry!” he chokes out, swallowing the last of his giggles. “I really didn’t mean to scare you, I thought you heard me walking up, but I guess not,” he says and gestures at your headphones dangling down and twirling together.

“Jesus Christ, Rami. You do know that you almost killed me, right? I literally almost died right here!” you say, still playing it up a little bit. You can’t keep a straight face for long though and break eye contact to laugh under your breath. “Anyways, what’s up? I haven’t seen you in a while! You look great, I must say” you point out, referencing the outfit.

“I always look great, darling,” he says, putting on Freddie’s accent. You raise your arms in surrender and he shoots you a grin. Suddenly he’s Rami again, just like that. “So I’ve got that one big scene tomorrow and I feel like something is off with my performance and I just can’t put my finger on it. I was wondering if you were free later tonight after we’re done shooting to go over the script with me?” you’re not sure if he’s doing it on purpose, but he’s giving you the biggest puppy dog eyes you’ve ever seen.

“Oh, I know that feeling,” you say, thinking back to your stupid song. Maybe you can play it for him and get his input? You quickly brush off the thought, this is about him, not you. “And of course! I’d love to!” You can’t even pretend you aren’t honored and a little excited to see him later. Even though you’ve fallen in love with your little routine, you have a real soft spot for this boy.

“Perfect! I can’t wait to see you then” he waves as he walks off. You wave back and once he’s turned the corner, you can’t contain your giddiness. Before you know it, you’re hopping and -hopefully- internally squealing like a schoolgirl. He’s just so cute, okay? It’s not fair. It shouldn’t be legal.

You spend the rest of your day curled up in the bean bag chair in the corner of the writers' room going over a thousand different scenarios in your head, both eagerly and anxiously awaiting the end of filming. You’ve really been thrown for a loop here, going from total isolation to the midst of practically a high school crush. You’re not even entirely sure why, there’s just something about him. You’re not quite sure whether you like it or not, but there’s one thing you do know. Denying it won’t get you anywhere, you’ve been down that road before.

PROD 200 Film #2 Self-Critique

Even though I am a Film Production major, I feel like I know very little about production. I have always been the most comfortable with post-production. I love editing and hope to be an editor one day. However, I want to learn more about production. Fortunately, PROD 200 has taught me a lot about production. For our second film project, I learned how to create a silent documentary, a documentary without synched dialogue. The concept of a silent documentary was new to me, but I had an idea right away. I planned to capture the day in the life of Father Eddie, a Jesuit priest who is also a film professor at LMU. Unfortunately, he was not available to be in my documentary. Father Eddie suggested that I film Feed the Hungry, an event where LMU students make sandwiches and deliver them to the Annenberg Access Center. I learned from this experience that sometimes ideas do not work out but that there are always other things to film. Feed the Hungry ended up being a great topic because the documentary could raise awareness for the program.

Father Eddie ended up being my greatest asset for the documentary. Without him, I never would have thought to have filmed Feed the Hungry. He also gave me helpful advice about connecting the documentary to the issue of food insecurity and homelessness in Los Angeles. That way, the documentary was about more than just LMU students.

After meeting with Father Eddie, I had to reach out to John-Paul (JP) Ramirez, the program facilitator for Feed the Hungry. I struggle with asking others for help, so I was very nervous to email him. My nervousness only grew when he still hadn’t responded after four days. I decided to send a follow up email to both JP and Father Jim Erps, who oversees Campus Ministry. I finally got the approval, and my next step was getting the permits to film.

I needed permits for Sacred Heart Chapel, the Cave, and the Annenberg Access Center. I was able to get the permits for the chapel and the Cave; however, I found out that I needed permission from the Access Center to film there. Unfortunately, I did not get that permission. Without the Annenberg Access Center, the film would not be complete. I had to think on my feet. With the help of Deb McClune, I found Project Angel, which is a part of the Annenberg Foundation. I resolved to film some exterior shots there. Filming at Project Angel was my first time filming off campus, so I learned how to get a permit through FilmLA. The process was actually pretty  simple.

The entire pre-production process as a whole, however, was much more difficult than I anticipated. Getting permission from JP and Fr. Erps took a long time. My inability to film at the Access Center was a big setback. Another difficulty was prepping my equipment for the shoot. I wanted to shoot smooth footage, so I borrowed a gimbal from my friend Seth. He showed me how to use it the weekend before I filmed because he had to go out of town. The day before my shoot, I tried to set up the gimbal. I probably spent over three hours trying to balance my camera on it, and Seth was not around to help me out. I finally got it somewhat balanced, but the gimbal was not as smooth as I would have liked.

Fortunately, filming went well. The gimbal was a little shaky at times, but for the most part, it functioned properly. I ended up with some great footage. I do not consider myself a cinematographer, so I was impressed with how the footage turned out. I got a lot of great shots of the student’s faces and the food preparation. In retrospect, I wish I had gotten shots from more angles. The gimbal was a great stabilizer, but it prevented me from changing the angle of the camera. I let my fear of not being able to get the camera balanced on the stabilizer again prevent me from getting more varied shots.

This project really took me out of my comfort zone, but I learned a lot through my experience. I improved my verbal and written communication through my interactions with Fr. Eddie, JP, and Fr. Jim. I also learned hard skills such as filming with a gimbal. For my first PROD 200 project, all of my shots were static and filmed on a tripod. So, moving shots were new to me. Being the only person on my crew was intimidating, but everything worked out in the end.

In the future, I know that there will be things beyond my control. I will have to deal with those things and try not to stress out about them. There was only so much I could do in regard to speeding up the permission process from JP and Campus Ministry to film. In the future, I will also familiarize myself more with the equipment I am using before shooting.

In the end, my film was a success. My film really improved from the Rough Cut to the Fine Cut  because I added interview voiceovers. I showed the documentary to some of the students at Feed the Hungry, and they really liked it. I am so glad that the documentary worked out.

If you’re a regular on the SWLing Post, you’ll certainly know our contributor, Robert Gulley.

Robert is a wonderful friend and one of the biggest ambassadors for radio I know. Robert has mentored a countless number of ham radio operators and radio listeners–his enthusiasm is infectious.

This time, Robert could really use our help.

His wife Jennifer has Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS)–a disease that has progressed to the point she needs 24/7 care. Finances are tight, so when a home equity loan taken out over 15 years ago recently ballooned, Robert and Jennifer have struggled to make these payments and stay afloat.

They’ve explored refinancing and even selling their home, but the numbers simply don’t work in their favor.

I, along with a number of Robert’s close friends, have encouraged him to start a GoFundMe campaign to try to raise some funds to pay down the home equity loan.

9H, MALTA. Klaus, DL7OO (ex-DD1AY), will once again be active as 9H3GK

from Malta (EU-023) between September 29th and October 6th. He will have

FM, MARTINIQUE. Jim, N6TJ, will be active as FM5KC from the Ducos Radio

Club on Martinique (NA-107) during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November

23-24th) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry. QSL via LoTW, or F5VHJ direct

FP, ST. PIERRE & MIQUELON (Update). Eric, KV1J, will once again be oper-

ating from the Island of Miquelon (NA-032, DIFO FP-002 WLOTA 1417, Grid

GN17) as FP/KV1J between September 24th and October 8th. This is his 13th

trip to the island. Activity will be on 160-6 meters (no 60M – not author-

ized) using CW, SSB, RTTY, FT8 (but primarily SSB, RTTY and FT8) and the

satellites. He will generally be on the highest frequency band that is

open (favoring 12/10m). He will be active in the CQWW DX RTTY Contest

(September 28-29th). ADDED NOTE: Eric will usually try to be on as many

Satellite passes as he can when the WX is good, generally favoring the

FO-29, XW-2x, AO-7, and possibly the FM birds. Eric states, “Equipment

is two FT-817s and an Arrow dual band yagi. I’ll favor the SSB birds

usually higher in the passband, but will also try FM if they do not get

too busy. Satellite logging is by paper so may not get loaded to LoTW

until the week after I return to the USA.” Weekends may be limited since

EU-029. YL Rosel, DL3KWR, will once again be active using the special

callsign OZ6SYL of the Danish club of SYLRA (Scandinavian YL

Radio Amateurs) from near Faxe on Sjaelland Island between

September 9-23rd. Activity will be holiday style on CW. She

will also participate in the Scandinavian Activity CW Contest

EU-165. Giuseppe, IK5WWA, will be active as IM0DAE from San Peter

Island (a small island southwest of Sardinia) between Sep-

tember 16-28th. Activity will be on all HF bands as well as

6 meters, 2 meters and 70 cm. QSL via his home callsign,

NA-077. Eric, VA2IDX, will once again be active as VA2IDX/p from

Anticosti Island between November 2-6th. Activity will be

sporadic around 2000z and 0200z. Operations will be on 40/20

NA-211. (Reminder) By the time you read this, operators Yuri/N3QQ,

Cezar/VE3LYC, Sandro/VE7NY and Adrian/KO8SCA should be active

as K7TRI from the rare IOTA Tillamook Rock until September

9th. This IOTA is in demand by almost 94% of IOTA members,

and has been on the air only once in 21 years. Activity will

be on 40-17 meters using CW and SSB. This is a very expensive

and challenging project, and they are actively looking for

possible support from IOTA chasers and DXers at large. All

ADDED NOTES. Spitsbergen is the largest and only permanently populated

island of the Svalbard archipelago in northern Norway. Constituting the

westernmost bulk of the archipelago, it borders the Arctic Ocean, the

Norwegian Sea, and the Greenland Sea. Spitsbergen covers an area of

37,673 km2 making it the largest island in Norway and the 36th-largest

in the world. The administrative center is Longyearbyen.

PACIFIC (DXPEDITION) TOUR ALMOST DID NOT HAPPENED (Update). Heli, DD0VR,

(along with XYL Bigi, DE3BWR) informed OPDX on Monday that their Fiji

“DXpedition ends here.” Heli explains that after two visits to the Fiji

Customs Bureau, and having endless discussions, the couple was told that

they would have to pay three times 1540 Fijian dollars (700 USDs) for

their transmitters & amp in order to take their equipment into the three

islands they planned to operate from (Fiji, Samoa and Tonga). So Heli/

DD0VR and XYL Bigi/DE3BWR then decided to make their trip a “normal

holiday” and pick-up their equipment on the way back to Germany. At

this point, they were very disappointed. However, on Wednesday, thanks

from some help by Tevita Navila (Telecommunications Authority of Fiji),

Tony/3D2AG and Bernie/W3UR of The Daily DX, Heli was able to retrieve

his equipment and was able to be active as 3D2VR from Fiji for a few days.

By the time you read this, Heli (along with his XYL) will be heading

to Samoa and should be active as 5W0VR from Samoa sometime between Sep-

tember 9-16th. Activity will be on various HF bands and modes. QSL via

DD0VR. Next stop will be Tonga, Heli will be signing as A35JY between

September 16-21st.

PJ4, BONAIRE (Reminder). Randy, K5SL, should now be active as PJ4/K5SL

from Bonaire (SA-006) until September 14th. Activity will be on 40/30/

20/17 meters using mainly CW, but possibly some 17 meters SSB. QSL via

his home callsign.

S79GJ SEYCHELLES DXPEDITION (Update). Lance, W7GJ, will be active as S79GJ

from La Digue Island (AF-024, WW Loc. LI75vp), Seychelles, between September

20th and October 5th. Lance informs OPDX this past week of the following:

“All the equipment has been set up and checked and then packed up to go

on the plane with me to S79. This is primarily a 6m EME DXpedition, but

I have packed a 20m dipole and may also get on 20m FT8 during the first

few days of October. Full details are on my website:

Although the CP1GJ 6m EME DXpedition in May was a big success, I am

especially excited about S79GJ because nobody from NA has ever contacted

will be on 160-6 meters, possibly 60m, using CW, SSB, RTTY and FT8. Their

T6, AFGHANISTAN (Reminder/Update). Robert, S53R (ex-YA5T), is once again

active from Kabul as of September 4th, signing T6AA and may continue

until the summer 2021. He will be there for two years working with the

UN World Food Program. Robert has been issued two callsign: T6AA and T6A

(to be used during contest). Activities outside of the contests will be

limited to his free time, but he plans to be on 160-6 meters using CW,

SSB and the Digital modes. He was heard early in the week on 60/30/20/17

meters CW and FT8 as early as 0700z and as late as 2300z. QSL via S53R,

LoTW or ClubLog.

T8 PALAU. Operators Yas/JA6UBY (T88RR), Hiro/JM1LIG (T88FM) and YL Miyo/

JO3LVG (T88MK) will once again be active from Koror Island (OC-009) between

September 12-20th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters using CW, SSB, FM and

the Digital modes (FT8, JT9 and JT65). QSL T88RR via JA6UBY direct only

or eQSL. QSL T88FM via JM1LIG direct only. QSL T88MK via JO3LVG, direct,

by the Bureau or eQSL.

V3, BELIZE. Members of the “7163 DX Group” (http://www.7163net.com/) will

use the special callsign (assigned by the Belize Public Utilities Commission

for the use during special events) V3M from Belize during the CQWW DX SSB

Contest (October 26-27th). QSL via WB2REM or ClubLog’s OQRS. Operators

mentioned are Chuck/N6OJ (V31CT), Jim/WB2REM (V31MM), V31NY, Steve/W4SJT

Nancy/KG0YL (V31ST) and John/K3MA (V31ZZ). Look for operators to be active
