Been a while since I did any oc posting but I was thinking about loop de loop's holographic hands:

I imagine as she gets into a closer relationship with the DCA, she starts feeling a bit limited in regards to how to reciprocate the affection they so readily give.

Sun and Moon are very touchy people - they like hugs, shoulder pats and nudges, face baps (if their noses stuck out I think they'd like rubbing it against their partner's nose the way people do with babies), that kinda stuff.

But without real hands, Loop de Loop has no real contact with the physical world; sure, she can touch things, but if people try to make contact with her, they phase right through. So even though she wants to hold hands or hug Sun and Moon...she can't. Her hands are made for holding but they aren't tangible, they aren't real the way her partners' hands are. They're separated by different planes of existence, even though both of them are physically present.

they’re calling it block party 2024. just blocking and ignoring countless celebrities who havent said shit about palestine. influencers, actors, anyone who went to the met gala, whatever, they’re getting blocked. and people keep talking about how cathartic it is, how good it feels, how they never realized they could DO that. there was some kind of subconscious law against blocking famous people, but it’s broken, and people are LOVING it. and it’s WORKING. a social media/digital advertising coordinator was talking about how ad companies are PANICKING, because they can’t accurately target anymore. so many big influencers, including fucking LIZZO started talking about palestine the MOMENT their follower counts started going down. and the best part? no one is forgiving them. lizzo posted a tiktok asking people to donate to palestinian families, and all the comments just said you’re a multimillionaire. put your money where your mouth is. blocked.

i feel like i’m witnessing the downfall of celebrity culture, right here right now. people are waking up.

I think one of my favorite little details about spike's character is how he treated drusilla. he wasn't just "patient" with her disability, he actively treated it as just another thing about her to love. he verry rarely coddled her or tried to get her to be more present in a situation when she wasn't capable. (I can't think of a single time that he did but i feel like there were some when he was already upset at other people?). he learned to understand what she was saying even when it sounded like nonsense. when she was upset he comforted her, no matter how often it happened. when she started dancing he danced with her.

and we see in buffy 5x20 that it wasn't just his love for dru that made him act like that. when tara was incoherent and opened the window in the van, he didn't just immediately forgive her for burning him, he never got upset in the first place. he yelled, of course, because he was hurt, but as soon as willow started apologizing and trying to explain he just nodded. because it's no biggie! he already understands. some people are just like that, and he doesn't see accommodating that as the big deal that the people around him are making it out to be.
