Mentioned this before but as much as I adore the medic Leo headcanon, my favorite type of it is when it’s basically just Leo knowing the most surface level of stuff and carrying around a super basic first-aid kit in his pack. So he knows how to use gauze, and he’s got a ton of Jupiter Jim branded bandaids, and if you really needed it then he can hit you up with some ibuprofen but other than that? Nothing.
But. I love the idea that that changes post-invasion.
They’re pretty sturdy, all of them, so they can take more than one beating and really only need a bandaid for the fun of it. But the invasion hit harder than ice packs and “lots of rest” would help with, and I can bet that a post being beaten to a pulp Leo would have a lot of time on his hands to reflect and, maybe, learn a thing or two as he waits to get better.
It’s nothing excessive, not at first, but he watches veterinary videos, and live surgeries, and other videos in that same realm (because the books are, uh, a bit too jargon-y for him) multiple times over. Just so he knows. Just in case he needs to know.
In his pack, there’s a first-aid kit. With the use of a mini portal for extra space, the kit has grown to include everything from scalpels to butterfly stitches to sutures to even fiberglass patches.
And obviously the Jupiter Jim brand bandaids stay too.

wait ive been reading some of these asks. do machete & vasco have a written out story? or comic? i havent seen any links on your page for something like that (unless I'm looking over em :"D) but I'd love to read/hear more if so!
Hh sorry, they have lots of story stuff planned out but it's all just rattling around in my head, there's no comic, written fiction, lore depository or anything substantial that I could direct you to. I mostly just design characters for my own enjoyment and then put them in little imaginary situations because it's a fun and inspiring thing to do.

Considering he (at least in my own beliefs) grew up/lived impoverished, on the streets, I feel the need to point out just how likely it is that Mk1 Shang Tsung is just straight up illiterate.
I believe that Shang at the very least, with no one to actually teach him how to read, just came up with his own assumptions for how letters/symbols sound based on how people read signs or bottles around him. The small arrangement of words he can write with accuracy are those without silent letters, or that can be guessed phonetically based on simple syllables.
That said, he does write his own notes to himself, but they are genuinely illegible to other people. I mean, he was just making assumptions about which letter, if any at all, made “th” sounds or what the hell makes a “fff” sound because it’s F, but also P, but maybe it’s H? Why are people reading it that way? Why do multiple letters make one sound? What the fuck even is an X?
He never expected to have to show anyone else his writing anyway, so he basically has his own written language that often includes pictograms, shapes or literally made-up words or symbols sometimes for words that his human tongue just couldn’t pronounce. His words and language, written or not, came from whoever was around him. Be it a Zaterran, with their own language, or a visitor from far away lands who spoke his language but with a different dialect, or a Tarkatan who simply has a lisp because they have no lips.
I’m not really going anywhere with this but I think it’d just be funny to imagine like, Kitana and Mileena looking for any notes on Shang’s Tarkat cure that he may have left behind anywhere, or the Earthrealm champions scavenging for hints as to where he may go next, and they find his writing. And for a moment they believe they could’ve made progress. But it actually just looks like someone keysmashed in writing with emojis included.
Everyone assumes he’s writing in some secret genius code, maybe to communicate with other evil bad villains or whatever, but no. He is just illiterate.

are they even trying to teach kids how to properly type anymore or?? the girl i nanny, who is going into 7th, was literally shocked by how fast i type. i type maybe a bit above the average person because i like to write, but in general most people my age can type around my speed whatever the fuck it is. no long pausing over any keys, maybe a few stops if i mistype, etc etc very normal typing patterns. but this girl literally cannot type, she refuses to learn the home row which is one of her main problems, and she told me they stopped giving typing classes/didn't do many in elementary. are schools just assuming kids have access to tech at home and so "obviously" every kid needs like three offhand lessons and if you send them home to do typing games they'll magically learn how to type accurately and quickly? because...no. this girl loves typing games and whatnot, but she does them incorrectly with her hand placements and often has to look up and down between her screen and keyboard, and she finds this very normal and her friends are similar. is it just a school district thing bc yikes if more kids are being brushed aside for proper computer lessons just because having tech is more common and teachers just assume kids "already know" things.

I love how Zuko just gets to calm down in Ba Sing Se? He gets to just calm down enough to think about his own emotions and life and not be under constant pressure?
Really should have just left him here until he was at least in his 20s, he is not ready to rule anything! Let him just like exist without constantly being shoved around
