1: What does your character typically keep in their pockets? Vic ranges between having very little and a whole assortment of random junk depending on whether he's cleaned out his stuff lately. The common things tend to be a couple sending stones (he does learn Sending eventually but likes having a backup in case he uses his very limited spell slots for something else that day), the current rag used to clean his sword, something to write with, probably some bits of dry rations. Joseph is usually really sparse. He has the occasional shiny thing Spike picked up (currently polished rocks), perhaps a broken crossbow bolt he thinks is salvageable, maybe some bandages, but nothing super consistent.

7: How impulsive is your character? Vic is,,, more than he'd like to admit. He's smart, but sometimes the book smarts out pace the common sense and he's absolutely one to try testing out some spell modification before considering whether it's a good idea or not. Notable impulsive decisions include: not going back to Rosohna after Illy died; picking This Wizard as the new focus of his martyr complex; using his echo in the fighting tournament; giving up his citizenship and subclass to keep traveling with a group he'd met like a month before; everdin thelyss Joesph is not the impulsive type, and those who are tend to stress him out. He's the one looking for contingency plans and alternatives and working out escape routes before anything's even happened. He is not the kind to throw a fireball into a noble's house and run.

37: What are some ways your character acts silly? Vic always likes whatever bits of levity he can get, so it varies. He's happy to joke with his friends in whatever way comes up. The main example that comes to mind is stopping in the middle of crossing a river (with water walk) and trying to catch fish with his hands. Joseph,,, reluctantly. There's still definite effort being put in to maintain what little dignity he's got. 'Silly' is not an adjective he wants associated with himself. But he will stick to a bit. The stubbornness means he will always stick to a bit, even if it's stupid. Bo Is definitely cursed.

42: Is there something your character isn’t very good at, but enjoys doing nonetheless? Vic would claim he's not great at magic, which is objectively incorrect. He isn't that good at dancing (mostly for lack of practice) but definitely does enjoy that when he gets the chance Joseph is so...competitive, he's the type to get at least a little frustrated at anything he's not good at. The session at 8:30 AM was a great way for me to come back to the morning meditations. I have last meditated in the morning, on the 22nd of June. That’s 5 consecutive days of not meditating in the morning.

These 5 morning sessions have got eaten up by mundane duties. It is getting increasingly difficult for me to hold on to my decades old perspective of my everyday activities. My perspective about my life style seems to be undergoing a shift!

Despite making above average advances as a meditator, my old habit of getting caught with deadlines remains. If there is a deadline, then I will pursue completing the task. Without realising, I will drop all activities to persevere with the task that has an immediate ‘best before’ date printed on it. I must have been one of Pavlov’s dogs in a previous life.

I have some old conditioning that I haven’t outgrown. And I am fast growing as a human being in a fundamental way, thanks to meditation. I am somewhere in between my old me and the new & improved me.

The nightly meditation from this day is my worst session in years. I am tempted to say ‘years’ because I can’t remember when last have I opened my eyes so many times during meditation. After so many years of practice, I have only recently got a glimpse of a steady gaze. And last night, instead of building on that one glimpse of infinite rest, I opened my eyes many times.

Seriously though. I need to outgrow irreversibly my natural born curse to keep vigil. My amygdala has got to turn into a vestigial organ. My flight, fight and freeze responses to fear need to commit suicide. It is almost as if the switch to my fear responses is broken. A long time back, the switch was turned on and then it broke. I simply don’t know how and what will give me relief from my own self-cultivated fear responses.

There is one more thing I want to mention. My relation with cold water has undergone a change. I am not sure if it is an irreversible change or not. I have entered my 23rd straight Bombay monsoon last week. For months before the latest rains began, I was bathing in room temperature water.

The rain has come in a few days back. And it hasn’t exactly stopped raining ever since it began. There has been no sunshine for a few days. It’s typical. The water in the taps has turned cooler than when it was sunny hot. The tap water temperature now is 26 degrees C.

It is most unlike me to enjoy bathing with water at 26 degrees C. In the monsoons gone by, I have tried using will power to bathe in cool waters. About 32 years back, I was facing the first Bombay monsoon after moving into the city from a place with extremely dry climate. Back then, I couldn’t stand tepid bath water. I wanted it monsoon cooled.

At the age of 48 years, I seem to have gone back to being 16 years old. I have two working theories with regards this desirable change in my sense of touch. Maybe my hormone levels have arrived at exactly those numbers that I had back then when I was 16. Or maybe the brain capillaries in my sensory cortex are affected (in a good way) by life energies running through them during meditation.

PS: It is the hypothalamus and not the sensory cortex that decides body temperature and manages hormones. The hypothalamus sits at the top of the brain stem that is situated at the base of the brain. The top of the brain stem does feel like how far life energies are flowing through my blood vessels. It’s possible that a combination of both my theories is the reason for me bathing in cool water.

I am forever burdened with justifying the existence of #Konnichiwa.

I love #Japanese culture, and more specifically, the juggernaut media IPs they’ve created over the past few decades (Pokemon, Hello Kitty, Mario, Dragon Ball, Gundam, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pac-Man, One Piece, Final Fantasy, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Naruto, Godzilla, and loads more). I’d like to stay there for a few months someday in an AirBnB, working on music. Maybe longer. Specifically in Tokyo and/or Kyoto.

I spend a considerable amount of my waking time thinking about geeky fictional universes, like the ones mentioned above. Typical comic-con-esque nerd.

”Konnichiwa” was written around the verse melody, which was originally meant to go with the chorus melody of “Baby Blue” and be released as song 42. That song wasn’t working, so I scrapped it and eventually reused the abandoned melodies for “Baby Blue” and “Konnichiwa.”

This is GoBoy’s SUPER minimalistic phase. Some will be turned off by the simplicity of GoBoy 4 songs.

I was really into the idea of meme songs at the time of making ”Konnichiwa.” The goal was to make something that would be memeable. Something totally ridiculous, but catchy. If you want an example of a meme song, you can find playlists of them on YouTube and music streaming services. The whole meme song idea was utilized for a number of songs on GoBoy 4 and 5, such as “Dragon Fire,” “Magic Unicorn” and “Dick” (excerpts from post 69).

“Nightcall” by Kavinsky teaches us that the verses of a song can be identical (essentially copied and pasted) and people won’t notice as long as they’re spaced far enough apart and the song is catchy enough. It took about 10 or so streams of “Nightcall” before I realized that the verses are identical. This idea of having identical verses (with maybe a tiny bit of variation) would be utilized for this song and others on GoBoy 4, 6 and 7, the most recent being “Don’t (Song 121)” (excerpts from post 56).

After dabbling in bubblegum pop for the 2nd half of GoBoy 3, my original plan was to focus on lyrically driven content for GoBoy 4. The release of ”Everything Will Be Okay (Song 69)” changed my mind, as the focus on dark lyrics impacted my mental state for months afterwards. Focusing on the dark elements of your own life for long enough can turn you into a neurotic mess (the original song “Everything Will Be Okay” had a 3rd verse the delved darker). My focus would shift to bubblegum pop from that point forward, which would impact this song. Music would be made for enjoyment and catchiness, not necessarily for conveying a message. I don’t regret this shift in focus… yet (excerpts from post 60).

In April, 2021, almost all of GoBoy 3, 4 and 5‘s songs were restructured to be under 3 minutes (preferably under 2m 30s), including this song. In an attempt to increase replay value in this streaming era, most of GoBoy’s songs are now purposely around 2m 20s (excerpts from post 38).

A bass boost was added to songs 37-99 in Nov, 2021, while I was stuck at home with covid. As a result, this song feels more powerful. The bass boost isn’t a simple plugin nonchalantly added to each song. It’s a process that took about 3.5 hours per song, or one whole month to complete all songs. Admittedly, I pushed the bass boost a little too far for some of them. The bass in some songs sounds like a freaking earthquake (unnecessarily pronounced low frequencies 20 - 50 Hz). Might dial that back someday. The bass boost was also applied to every song on GoBoy 6 and beyond (excerpt from post 37).

I'm a 24 year old woman and I still don't understand my own body sometimes.

Like, prior to birth control, I had heavy periods, awful cramps, but a regular 28 day, 7 day period cycle. I took two different types of birth control over the span of 6 years. First, was Sprintec which was the pill, but it had awful side effects that wreaked havoc on my bipolar and hormones. The second was the Nuvaring due to the low amount of hormones and I honestly really liked it; I could skip my periods, I could have one if I wanted one, I had the freedom of many options and my bipolar eventually became stable while using it with my regular routine of antidepressants and SSRIs.

Back in May of last year, I quit my birth control in hopes of getting pregnant. I had a regular period and then didn't have another one until September that started at a rock music festival of all place. Initially, they were a lot heavier than usual that I had a double up, and was going through a super plus tampon in less than three hours. I went like that until December.

The new year rolls around, I'm still hoping for a baby every month, and I started self medicating with thc products to help me sleep because I'm a chronic insomniac that has been off their meds and tried everything else with no success (I fully intend to quit once I get pregnant though), and that's when I noticed my cycles were getting longer.

Instead of that routine 28 days, a normal cycle for me is around 37-42 days. My periods are 5 days long instead of 7, the first two days being very light, barely noticeable spotting, and then heavy with crippling cramps, to being over and done with by the 5th day.

Yesterday was day 28. Today is day 29. I've got a box of pregnancy tests calling my name, but I'm not getting my hopes up yet because I haven't hit 42 days yet, but while I'm sitting at work, playing on my phone because my job is very laid back, I get one of those crippling cramps that I immediately chalked up to, "Maybe I need to use the bathroom," because I cooked dinner last night and I'm used to takeout and frozen meals that I can work into my "allergic to everything" diet. It went away and didn't happen again, so I brushed it off.

When I eventually went to the bathroom, I noticed that I was spotting, but not the usual beginnings of a period. Now I'm super confused.

Now, my boyfriend has been making jokes for the past week asking if I'm pregnant because I've had this insatiable craving for fish (something I typically don't really like) and after months of eating like a bird, I'm eating nonstop (which also may be due to stress). The only thing is I haven't had any other symptoms and I'm trying not to get myself too hyped up because I've been disappointed in previous months when my period came and was a sign that I wasn't expecting.

If my period doesn't show up in the next week or so, I'm definitely taking a test, but it's just weird that my I don't feel like I understand my body like I should. Then again, I have more diagnoses than someone typically my age so it's a massive question most of the time. I didn't expect to develop the allergies I have in my 20s, so yeah, maybe I have other underlying problems, or maybe my paranoia is acting up again.

I can only hope for the best.

The reason I started this from 2000 is because Office Timeline forced me to use real-world dates, so I went with 2000 because that’s pretty much the closest I could get to starting from a Year 0.

Assumption 1: A “Generation,” as referred to in the phrase “X Generation Quirk,” is in reference to the number of “social” generations (typically a 25-30 year period) since “Year 0,” the year the Glowing Baby was born, and that the Glowing Baby was in fact the first person born with a quirk.

I’ll be using 30 year long generations for this, due to the fact that with 25 year generations the timeline breaks right around the time All Might gets OfA. (Long story short, 40 years would be too far back for AfO to be “over a century old” before Yagi goes to America, like Gran says he is in All Might Rising.)

So to start with, we know Inko is 42 years old and 4th generation, so by extension Izuku (who’s 16) is 5th gen.

Assumption 2: Based on the fact that Present Mic and Meatball kid bring up the Quirk Singularity when discussing how powerful the kids in the Remedial Class chapters are, it can be inferred that those kids supposed to be the start of the 6th gen.

These children are in primary school, and based off the school’s name (translated “precocious brat”) I’d say they’re probably 6 or 7 years old, (children start in primary school at 6 in Japan,) meaning that the current timeline is approximately 7 years past the start of the 6th generation, which gives us an almost exact timeframe of 157 years to build an actual timeline in.

So, going back up to our other examples, Izuku was born 9 years before the end of Gen 5, or 21 years into it, meaning he’s a mid/late 5th gen child, and Inko was born 6 years before the end of the 4th generation.

Assumption 3: All for One was born during Year 0. I don’t have direct proof, but he was already an adult during the societal breakdown part of the Dawn of Quirks, so it is reasonable to assume he also was an early 1st gen quirk user.

Daruma Ujiko is over 120, so he’s early 2nd generation/maybe late 1st, meaning AfO would be in his 80s when he meets the doc, who’s in his 50s, around 70 years ago. I’d also like to point out just how convenient it is for AfO that Ujiko would just so happen to be rendered completely destitute, and thus devote himself and his longevity quirk to AfO, right around the time old age could do the supervillain in. And how now, AfO is pulling this potential body hopping stunt with Tomura at nearly 160 years old, which, since Ujiko’s quirk “doubles [his] life span” according to the official translation, would mean AfO is, on an adjusted scale, right around 80 again.

In fact, I’ll go even farther and say that if you regard the circumstances that led to Tenko Shimura coming under AfO’s care as suspicious, you should also regard the circumstances that he met Ujiko under with that same suspicion, because it’s the same exact pattern:

1. Individual has some aspect of their life that could attract AfO’s attention (Being Nana’s grandson, being a prominent quirk researcher with a longevity quirk.)

2. Tragedy befalls them, leaving them destitute, adrift, and isolated

3. Nobody is willing to help them

4. Except for AfO

5. An act which very much is to his own benefit

Anyways, enough about AfO, let’s discuss One for All. AfO and Yoichi are both adults when OfA is created, so it was likely made approximately 30 years after Year 0. I suspect for symbolic reasons it was around 32 years, so that OfA would be exactly 125 years old now, and that’s the reason it’s “reaching singularity” for Izuku, but again I have no direct proof for or against that.

Now we know All Might went to UA, and there’s never been anyone quirkless in their hero course, meaning he got One for All before then, likely at 15 like Izuku. Chapter 304 confirmed he’s had it 40 years, so he’s probably almost 56.

Also, since he had OfA for 40 of its 125 years, that means all of the previous holders, excluding Shinomori, would have had it about 66 years total, for an average of 11 years between all 6 of them.

Except that the revelation that Second and Third rescued Yoichi together and that they’re probably all around the same age makes it more likely that they had it for less than 10 years each, (because iirc it’s kind of implied that Shinomori was the only holder to reach 40,) and everyone else had it for longer. In that case, the most you can take off of their cumulative total is ~15 years, with a 7-9 year average being more reasonable, because otherwise you would be putting Daigoro, En, and Nana too close to, or even over, 18 years each.

So an approximate timeline for when they each had it could look something like this:

Holder: Years from Year 0/X years ago, how long they had OfA (Age they received OfA)

Yoichi: 32~38 / ~125~119 years ago, 6 years

Second: 38~45 / 119~112, 7 years

Third: 45~53 / 112~104, 8 years

Shinomori: 53~71 / 104~86, 18 years (Got OfA at 22)

Daigoro: 71~85 / 86~72, 14 years

En: 85~100 / 72~57, 15 years

Nana: ~100-116 / ~57-41, 16 years

AM: 116-156 / 41-1 year ago, 40 years (Likely got OfA at 15)

Izuku: 156-157 / 1 year ago to now, 1 year (Got OfA at 15, but we already knew that)

As you can see, we also can calculate how old Shinomori was when he received OfA. Unfortunately we don’t really have enough information to do this with any of the other holders other than All Might. But there is something else we can get into about them.

Let’s look at the quirks and lives of the earliest holders for a minute.

Yoichi - Was given the stockpile quirk by AfO

Second - Based off his support items, he probably had a long-range quirk, and his life-or-death attitude towards battle makes the prospects of someone surviving seeing his (at this point) minor strength enhancement very low

Third - Let’s face it, Fa-Jin would be the perfect cover for One for All

Shinomori - Vanished into the woods for almost 20 years

Which leads us to Daigiro: Blackwhip is by his own admission, already a top grade quirk. Add in a not-insignificant strength enhancement, and you have a quirk that’s a beacon for a supervillain who can literally steal them. Also, it’s confirmed that AfO has only tried to take OfA from someone who currently had it twice; Once from Daigoro, and once from En.

Therefore I posit the following hypothesis: That AfO did not know about OfA’s existence until he tried to take Blackwhip and instead got a face full of his brother’s ghost.

It also adds another reason for AfO to seek out Ujiko, (who we know knows about OfA) because he would have found him only a couple of years after mostly killing Daigoro. (But incidentally leaving him alive long enough to pass on his brother’s quirk.) That is that he didn’t just find him for his longevity quirk, or because he agreed with the singularity theory and saw it becoming a problem in general, but also because he had a perfect example of a quirk on the fast track to singularity for Ujiko to study and plan around.

Finally, I have a few other points that aren’t directly related to any of these other ones, but I still figured out anyways.

First, we have some information about Nana’s family. Kotaro was 32 before he died when Tenko was 5, and we know Tomura’s 21 now, which means Kotaro would be 52 years old (~4 years younger than All Might) if he were alive today. Knowing this, it’s likely that AfO killed his father and Nana subsequently gave him away in the latter half of her time with OfA.

Also, it is worth noting that Tenko killed his family 16 years ago, which would be the same year Izuku was born.

The Meta Liberation Army had been in hiding “for generations” when ReDestro was a child, and since there’s no way he’s not in his 40’s bare minimum, (the man is balding for god’s sake) that means he’s 4th gen, and the only way things work out is if Destro was 1st gen and the Liberation War was during the 2nd gen, or maybe early 3rd. Likewise, Compress mentions that he’s Oji Harima’s great-great-grandson, and since he’s confirmed 32, that means that the Peerless Thief was also 1st gen. Both of these probably seem obvious without the math, but at the same time it’s also not evidence that this is wrong.
