Thanks for requesting!!! And thanks for those words, I might be slower at writing considering I have school tests everyday, well I mean I’m in law school so what was I expecting-

Luther Hargreeves
Tumblr media
This takes place in season 1
The argument was pretty simple
You just wanted him to shut up for like 5 seconds about the moon and stop defending Reginald and digging into his death
You two were currently standing in the “meeting room” in the Umbrella Academy along with others discussing how Reginald died. Sure you weren’t part of this family, but you were invited anyway. Why you had no idea, maybe ‘cause you were a family friend?
“Jesus Christ Luther, stop digging into it so much. It was a heartattack, calm down” you rolled your eyes sighing as you agreed along with others that Reginald died of a heart attack.
“Oh so you’re on their side now? Even my best friend, great” he chuckled at the irony rolling his eyes. “Well I wonder why” Diego sneered. Soon the whole room started arguing about it, you’ve had enough of this. They were adults so they should act like it
Standing up from your seat you shook your head whistling which only caught Viktor’s and Allison’s attention… not what you wanted.
“Shut the fuck up!” You finally yelled and they all grew silent except for Diego who insulted his brother and you before storming off. “We’re all adults yet you all act like kids. Get your shit together” you sighed frustrated.
With that Luther got up and took few steps towards you “You don’t have a say in this. Dad was murdured, and last time I checked I was on the Moon to-“ Luther started but got cut off by you
“Luther, for the love of god, as much as I love you, shut up about the Moon and stop defending him” You rolled your eyes making Viktor raise his eyebrows suprised
Luther stood there kidna offended at first before realizing what you said “Wait what?” You just cussed under your breath. This is gonna be a long day.
At first Allison was kidna jealous for sure, but slowly joined Klaus with sometimes teasing you. You had a lot of explaining to do.
Diego Hargreeves
Tumblr media
This takes place in season 2
Along woth others you had enough of Diego thinking about J. F. Keneddy 24/7
It was another night at Elliot’s and here you were, sitting in a corner across the room from Diego with Five between the two of you. You all were watching a tape Hazel gave Five before dying, a man on a grassfield was standing there when the president is getting shot.
To be honest you rightfully along with Lila who was sitting near you had no idea who this is unlike the two boys who seemed shocked at it
“Uh guys? Wanna also tell us who that is?” You asked awkwardly with Lila nodding slightly only to hear a whisper “dad” escape their mouths at the same time.
“Do you see this? That’s dad and he is the one who killed the president” Diego turned to you with a serious expression “Oh here we go” You rolled your eyes crossing your arms. “How can you know for sure that it was him? It doesn’t look like he’s holding a gun” you just shrugged leaving Diego frowning
“Do you even listen to me? That’s a proof that he is the killer!” Diego stood up pacing around the room
“And you know that how? He-“ you get cut off as he looks at you sharply, if you didn’t know him you’d think he’s crazy
“Take it easy, Diego” Five said calmly trying to ease the situation, but of course it didn’t help. “He is the killer! Don’t you hear me?! The evidence is right here!” Diego yells at you pointing at the tape
“Oh for fuck’s sake, you don’t wanna tell me that I fell for a madman” You scoffed crossing your arms taking a step towards him and he took a small step back as he processed what you said
“Well that’s an awkward silence” Lila said chuckling slightly, but none of you spoke until Five told you both that there’s no time for these things right now and you both followed him out to wherever you guys are going
“We’re not done with this conversation” Diego said, but not so agressively, more calmly yet of course not softly as it ain’t in his nature.
Allison Hargreeves
Tumblr media
This takes place in season 3
You were starting to get really annoyed with her, but when you caught her trying to rumor herself in the mirror to be happy you couldn’t be angry or upset with her at that moment
You and other Hargreeves siblings were just miding your own businesses, but you did notice that Allison was missing. At first you didn’t make a big deal out of it, she was being really annoying, but still that didn’t mean that you didn’t care about her. You were on this crazy Hargreeves rollecoster since the very beggining and they were all very dear to you.
So here you were looking through the whole hotel for her, you were starting to give up before you heard a glass break in the bathroom.
Slowly you stepped in and that’s when you witnessed it. “I heard a rumor that you were happy” Allison said trying to rumor herself through the mirror you weren’t sure if it’d work, but you sure as hell were concerned by now, you were aware that she had a hard time, but this was really bad.
“Allison?” You stepped in properly after seeing that it doesn’t work
Allison slightly jumped at the sudden voice, she didn’t need to turn around to know that it’s you “What do you want?”
Her words were sharp, but you tried to ignore the feeling and took few steps closer, your eyes inspecting her bloody hand from the distance. “Are you okay…?” You asked slowly unsure if she wants to open up
She just scoffed rolling her eyes as she faced you “Since when do you care?” You didn’t like this defensive side of her, but you knew that loving her means loving her even at her worst
“I always cared, Al-“ getting cut off Allison stood up properly frowning “No you didn’t. You don’t care that Claire’s dead, you don’t care that both my husbands are dead! You don’t care at all!”
She shouted obviously getting irritated by your words even though they were honest. “Allison that’s not true!” You tried to argue back “I care about you and mainly your wellbeing! You need help-“ “I don’t need help! Now get out!” She cut you off once again taking few steps towards you, but you didn’t really take any steps back and stood your ground
“Yes you do! You’re even rumoring yourself to be happy! You’re not alright at all!” You took a deep breath taking few steps towards her as well “Just let me help you!” You looked up at her, but she wasn’t calming down any time soon and you knew that. “And why would you want that?! To impress others with your comforting skills?! Make me feel even worse?!”
She shouted, she knew damn well that she doesn’t mean it and knew that she’s being a bitch right now, but she couldn’t stop. She was hiding her pain and anger deep down inside of her for too long and even though she didn’t want to, she just had to let it out on you. Not ‘cause she wanted to, but ‘cause you were closest and she knew you’d forgive her overtime, plus you understood her and she just had to let everything out despite knowing it’s not heathly for neither of you.
“No! Of course not! Allison I love you and don’t want you to suffer! Please…”
You were more calm at the end, but got confused when she shut up and just stared at you in shock before it hit you that you just confessed
“What?” She asked blinking in confusion, but also a neutral voice “Allison… I love you” you repeated making sure she knows you don’t mean just as friends
“Please don’t… I’ll just lose you too. Stop” she mumbled shaking her head, she couldn’t take another loss
“You won’t lose me” you stood up on your tip-toes and kissed her just shortly and slightly of course, you didn’t wanna scare her. “Now let me help you with your hand” you took her bloody hand and started tending it knowing that Allison isn’t ready for a relationship just yet so you didn’t expect her to say it back right now, but you knew that she did love you.
Klaus Hargreeves
Tumblr media
This takes place in season 1
You catch Klaus stealing in the Academy from his father on the funeral day
“Klaus? Wha- what are you doing?” You laughed seeing him under his father’s table where Reginald kept all his work
“Oh Y/N! How nice it is to see youuuuu” He sounded high and he probably was, but then again he had every reason to get high, but that doesn’t mean you approved of it
Klaus quickly reached for a hug which you with a sigh accepted “Klaus you’re high again” you crossed your arms rolling your eyes. “We talked about this”
“But those bitches are everywhere and it’s just so much better” he smiled amd you had to chuckle at his silliness “Give me the drugs” you held out your hand raising eyebrows “Oh you want it too????”
He asked and gave it to you and you just threw it out of the window “What’re you doing?!” He exclaimed with wide eyes “Helping you. Now go wash your face.”
You said clearly pissed off by his behaivor “Y/n! I need those!!!” He whined making you roll your eyes “No, you don’t. You need therapy, along with this whole family of yours” you stated clearly
“Y/N, Y/N, Y/N…” He whined “You don’t understand what I’m going through when I’m clean!” He suddenly yelled at you making you raise your eyebrows
“No Klaus, you don’t understand what I’m going through when I see the man I love somewhere begging for drugs instead of trying to get a real help!”
You argued back, but he stopped “What?”
Five Hargreeves
Tumblr media
This takes place in season 3
You both didn’t pick the same side when Reginald asked you all who’s for saving the world and who’s against it - you voted for saving the world while he didn’t
“Are you serious?” You looked at Five frowning confused as he stood on the other side. “Five, after all this time of trying to save the world you’re just gonna give up on the only chance we have ‘cause your older you told you so?”
You scoffed shaking your head and he frowned stepping closer to you “Y/N I am doing the right thing. Right, we’ve been trying to save the world this whole time and did we manage to change something? Nein! It’s over and over the same” Five frowned stepping closer to you
Unaware of the small distance between you two you stepped closer too and looked down at him “I’m not just gonna sit here and wait for the world to end with a boy I fell for and see him die. Five just come on and try this! One more time”
You sighed and tried to plea him, but to no vail as he didn’t budge “”Boy I love”? Please don’t bring that cocky shit-” “Maybe we should all calm down, alright?” Viktor tried to diescelate the situation, but failed as you and Five ignored him and kept arguing.
“You think you’re always right, hm? You are a child, you-” However you cut him off with a sneer “A child? That’s rich coming from you” Five took a deep breath and looked up at you his height making it impossible for him to look you straight in the eyes without looking up. “Y/N I love you, but you’re starting to seriously piss me off-“ He shut up as you all realized that another wave of Kugablitz is coming and had to run. Sure you two were gonna have to sort things out
Ben Hargreeves
Tumblr media
This takes place in season 2
He got angry ‘cause you keep diapproving of him possesing Klaus’ body
(Btw Y/N can see Ben here)
“Am I talking to Ben or Klaus?” You asked annoyed not seeing Ben anywhere so you just assumed that he posessed Klaus’ body which was sitting on the floor
“Hey Y/N! It’s Ben! God I’m so glad you came I couldn’t find you at the courtyard” he got up and hugged you tightly, but you could still feel that it’s Klaus’ body which wasn’t ideal at all. You didn’t like it and you were over this conversation many times
“Ben… you do realize that I can see you just like Klaus can, right?” You sighed shaking your head in disapproval “But it’s not the same! In a body-“ he starts but you just cut him off
“In any body I can’t see you, but the person whose body it is, Ben” you sighed shaking your head “But Y/N, you don’t understand… being ghost.. it’s as if I’m nothing” He took few steps closer to you, but you just backed up
“Y/N, please just listen… you don’t know what it’s like!” Suddenly he snaps. That’s very out of character of him. “God, Ben. You don’t get it do you?! I don’t love the body you are in, I love you when you’re yourself, Ben!”
You shook your head frowning and andead silence falls in the room and you soon hear him parting from Klaus’ body
“Aw man, I feel like I’ll throw up” Klaus moans and backs up. You ignore him whimpering and just focus on Ben who’s too stunned to speak.
It’s gonna be a long day…
Viktor Hargreeves
Tumblr media
This takes place in season 2
Y/N is helping Five look for others so they’d get them all to the suitcase in time, but Viktor insists to go back for Sissy and Harlan
You kept driving around couple of blocks looking for your best friend - Viktor - literally everywhere
Driving on a road leading away from Sissy’s farm you were slowly losing all hope, but for Viktor’s sake and your mental stability’s sake you kept going, you had to find him.
Driving away you saw another car passing by you and Viktor in it. Immediately you stopped in a way that your car - well a stolen car that you claim to be yours - died. Viktor on the other hand stopped slowly
“Viktor? Thank God, where were you?!” You were quick to hug him before he even had a chance to get out of the car properly
“Jesus! Y/N what are you doing here?” Obviously strandled a bit Viktor pulled away and rubbed your shoulder a bit “What’s going on?”
“Five found a way to get back home! No apocalypse or anything like that, we can go back!” You quickly explained and started walking towards your car, but stopped when you realized he wasn’t following “Viktor?” He shifted in his place thinking “I hate to tell you this, but we only have fifteen minutes-“ you started, but he cut you off
“I’m taking Sissy and Harlan” Viktor practically stated “What? Viktor you can’t do that, their disappearance could have major concequences” you shook your head looking back at your watch. 13 minutes.
“What consequences would it create if we’d just take a farm boy and woman with us?” Viktor obviously had enough and he headed back to his car “We don’t have time for that Viktor!” You pulled him by his arm back and he only snatched it away “Viktor don’t” you warned him shaking your head, true you don’t have powers, but he doesn’t have to know that
“What’s so wrong about this? I love Sissy and am not leaving her!” You knew he did. He loves Sissy, but you kidna were in denial. “What?” He looked at you still angry, but more confused now that you’re silent. 2 minutes.
“Sissy isn’t the only one who loves you, you idiot” you said and got into your car, but Viktor stopped you by your hand
“What?”

I'm sitting here rewatching Tua S3 for reasons, and one interesting thing I picked up is that the entire season is really just each of the Umbrellas struggling to define and searching for family in their own way. Here's me laying down some thoughts for y'all:
Luther - For him, family has always been about the team. That's part of the reason he's so drawn to the Sparrows, bc at first they seem to have the cohesiveness that the Umbrellas lacked. Remember, Luther was the last one left at the Academy, then Reginald sent him to the moon alone. So of course seeing a "functional" team is going to be compelling for him, and he desperately wants to be part of it. And then he and Sloane quickly fall in love and for the first time in his entire life, someone wants him for him. It's intoxicating and utterly consuming NRE that is more powerful than anything he's ever felt.
Diego and Lila - For these two, it's about figuring out how to be a family. Both together, but also a little bit with the other Umbrellas. Diego looking out for Allison and Klaus and Lila and Five coming to a truce are part of this - more about Lila and Five in a sec.
Allison - In her mind, her family is Claire and Ray. This one is obvious, but I also think that the writers did us a disservice by not letting us into Allison's perspective. If you think about it, it's completely normal for a parent to put their child above all. While I don't defend her actions, her motivation could have been more compelling and it would have strengthened her character. But sadly she's the character on the show that is most "othered" (which is bad for many reasons)
Klaus - he really dug deep into individual relationships w family, starting with Five (e2 and 5 Five and Klaus bonding are still some of the best bits of the season imo), Diego, Reginald, Sparrow Ben, and then Luther in the afterlife.
Five - Five remains a pragmatist. His bar for family is very low - success for him means the Umbrellas being alive, no matter what the personal cost or sacrifice to him or to some extent others. It is somewhat depressingly delightful to see how he makes his peace with the end of the world as the season progresses. Before that, however, I'd like to meander back to e3 and 4 where Lila convinces him to electrocute himself and then they go on the Commission mission. Both of the actors do a fine job here bouncing back and forth between witty banter and genuine emotion and I love it. It's a quick and subtle piece of dialogue when Five explains how he saved Lila from the Handler. The undertone is that they were both abused by that woman in a similar way - ultimately, she developed and kept them both as pawns in her own game. And I think Five, starting in S2E10 and fleshed out through S3, develops genuine empathy for and eventually acceptance of Lila as family, as one of them, because of this shared experience.
Viktor - Like Viktor in all seasons, he continues to feel out of place with the Umbrellas and compensates by over-prioritizing his relationships with others. Don't get me wrong, I do empathize with him that he lost real love with Sissy and Halan, but I also think Allison was 100% valid to call him out on his lying in E6, and it was on point to verbalize how the constant focus on Viktors pain minimizes her (and everyone else's) experience. (Edit to add: Viktor finally seems to get the message on this, after being called out by Allison, then subsequently both Sparrow Ben and Five, and spends the last few episodes trying to make amends. Real character development here and I like to see it)
Reginald - Well, his overarching motivation since S1 has always been bringing back his dead wife, so I won't belabor that, but also it's interesting to see how he interacted with Klaus particularly - esp in E7 when he sobers up it seems he is experimenting with remembering his role as a father. Now we don't get a ton about his internal motivation here, but you can tell there is some mild curiosity, if not affection, for Klaus, despite the fact that he ultimately is cool with sacrificing him.
Some of these are more obvious than others, but when you tie them all together, the idea that they are all desperately looking for family and the blind spots that that creates for them, some of the messiness of S3 starts to make a bit more sense.

Why did I have the impression that all the characters in TUA 1, 2 and 3 are not the same that in the season 4?
Even my favorite characters (Klaus, Five, Diego or Viktor) are just tasteless like they all are caricatures of what they are!
I am not finish with the season 4 but I really don't like what they whith the Hargreeves!
Where is the romantic Luther? He was always so passionate in what he do and with who he love?
Where is the empathic Alisson? In the S3 she was heartbroken but she was here and now she didn't even care about Klaus who is alone with his traumatic power? And why it's Alisson the shinning horseman? That was the job of Diego to be the savor or five, you cannot play the "I do everything for all tvis years" when we just see thay you care in S4
What the freak is happening with Five?! Why he accepter Lila with him?! They didn't care about eachothers last season!
I love Klaus, he's my baby, but he's still the same from S1 to S4! They trier ti give him sobriety and more trauma but in 6 episode and 3/4 other pov, we didn't have time so he didn't evoluate! And why did he always in the side quests? HE LITTERALY HAVE AN IMPACT ON LIFE AND DEATH!!!
Diego and Lila drama, UUUUUGH!!!!! Diego was always a person who talk to people and be understanding of the family problem! He didn't even hesitate to defend Klauss in S1 even if he didn't now what's happen! And now he's gngngnfn in his corner like a old grandpa
I didn't have a lot to say on Viktor because he need to express all the pain, the angry he has incident of him, but to the good person! This Reggie didn't care tant you were encaged because he didn't do it, Viktor need a confrontation with the original Reggie! To express the sadness (And I find him to much impulsive and mean, it was not teh Viktor of S3 who was happy with his gamily and being here for the person he love
Didn't have a lot to say to Ben and Jennifer because the first stay like the s3 one but with a lil bit of love (we need more scène with Klaus fgs) ans Jennifer make soooo much more question and I ma not very sûre that she was useful at the End...
Now I need to finish this season and I ho on A03 because I miss Dave A LOT!

The Umbrella Academy Final Season: My Version
Part Twelve: The Reunion
Overview: Klaus encounters a familiar face on a rescue mission, as the others arrive at Hargreeves mansion to confront the old man. TW: gore, ghosts, mentions of sexy times, i think thats it, tell me in the comments if i missed anything! Pairings: Klaus × Dave A/N: oh my god i finally finished this one yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Tumblr media
When Vanya, Allison, and Luther got out of the car outside the Hargreeves mansion, they found themselves hesitating,
"Are we really doing this?" Luther asked the other two.
"Yeah," Viktor replied. "Yeah, we are."
"Hold on," Luther said with narrowed, concerned eyes. "Why are you so in this? You hate Dad. Yet, here you are first in line to see him."
"I'm stuck, okay?" he answered softly. "I'm stuck in an endless argument with him in my head. And I feel like... like the only way I can move forward is if I finally say my piece to him. Do you know what I mean?"
"Yeah," Luther said.
"Just a friendly reminder to the group," Allison spoke up. "The last time you spoke your piece to him, he murdered you."
"I can defend myself now," he said firmly. "Will we able to make it past the front door, though?"
"Well, if civility doesn't work, I'll just rumor their brains all over the wall," Allison said. "Let's go."
As they approached the guards standing outside, a man came forward, looking burly and ominous. "May I help you?"
"Yeah, you can run inside and tell Reggie we're coming in whether he likes it or not," Allison said, hostility evident in her voice.
All three of them waited, relaxed but alert, as the tension built up. The man took off his sunglasses and gave Allison a polite smile.
"Of course, Ms. Hargreeves. Welcome," he said unexpectedly. "We've been expecting you."
Then his eyes flitted to Luther and Viktor as he said, "Luther. Viktor. I'll escort you inside the house. This way, please."
They followed him inside, looking around at the white all around. Some tune was played on a violin, and Viktor's ears perked up. All three looked at the front to find a woman playing it, looking immaculately graceful.
Just as the tune picked up speed, she stopped.
"What a pleasure to finally put faces to names," the woman said.
She carefully kept aside the violin and its bow before turning back to look at them.
"You must be Allison," she said, coming forward to squeeze her arms. "I've heard so much about you."
All of them gave her confused glances as she turned to Luther.
"Luther... my little space boy," she said as Luther's eyes widened a bit. "I finally get a chance to properly thank you for watching over me on the moon."
"What's that supposed to mean?" he asked immediately.
But, she ignored the question to turn to Viktor with a smile. "Dear Viktor. I understand we share a passion for the violin."
"It's more of a love-hate thing for me, but..." he trailed off, not knowing how to respond.
After a deep sigh, the woman said, "Come. Come, sit."
They looked at each other as the woman got up to put her instrument at its rightful place, before they went ahead and sat.
"Is, uh, Reggie home?" Viktor asked.
"I'm sure he's puttering around somewhere. Let's us get to know each other a bit first. I'm Abigail, by the way."
They all gave her polite smiles and she pointed towards the food, encouraging them to eat. "Go ahead. Don't be shy. The chef will be cross if you don't."
Meanwhile, Klaus was groaning about his legs again.
"Benjamin," he dragged out. "Why can't we wait for a car to pass or something?"
"We don't have time for that," Ben replied, shuffling forward despite the pain in his ankles. "She's not safe."
"Fine, then at least let's hotwire a car," Klaus said, noticing the slight limp in his legs. "You're about an hour away from your legs going numb, and not in the good way, Ben."
"Shh. We're here," he whispered, suddenly crouching down to peering over a bush. "Look, I can see her."
Klaus looked at where he was pointing, seeing a woman sitting at the window in a room on the upper floor. But the real problem was the guards with big guns standing on the ground outside.
"Okay, you take the guards, I'll sneak in and get her out?" Klaus suggested.
Ben grinned at him and let his tentacles out walking out, startling the people.
Klaus watched as Ben killed and thrashed many people, waiting for all of them to be distracted. Then, he slowly sneaked in, running into the house and looking for the stairs.
Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where's the streetwise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
But, there were people inside the house too. They had revolvers, not submachine guns, but it was still just as lethal. He thrust both his hands out, summoning ghosts without a problem and setting them on the men and women.
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night, I toss and I turn
And I dream of what I need
He went up the stairs with a giggle as chaos reigned, ghosts having a field day with so many people to kill. Some ghosts were looking on horrified, while some were laughing and cheering, there were bets going on too, on who was going to go after who.
And at any other time, Klaus would stay to watch and enjoy with them. But, he was busy, he had a mission to do.
He'd hated missions back in the day. He'd always been high and useless. But now, with the power of the dead and more importantly, the power of sobriety on his side, he felt more powerful than the short bursts of control that he had many years ago.
He walked calmly and carefully down the hallway, hoping the room that Jennifer was in was here somewhere. And he did find it. But, he also found a familiar face standing outside, with his revolver out.
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong, and he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
"What the fuck...?" the man said, blinking at the man standing beside him. He was the man of his dreams. Scratch that, he was the man in his dreams.
Klaus was just as surprised to see the man who was the love of his life. The only person that he cared for and loved more than himself.
"Dave," he said softly and saw the other's eyes widen.
"How do you know my name?" he asked, regaining his composure and pointing his revolver at him again.
"Dave, I..." Klaus was going to try to make him remember but then realized that for him, there was probably nothing to remember.
In this timeline, it was Klaus and Dave's first meeting.
"Okay, okay, look," Klaus said, raising his hands in surrender as he tried to think of something that would convince him to not kill him but also make him come with him. "Um, these people? They're crazy, okay? All they do is lie and deceive. So, how about you join hands with me?"
Dave scoffed, even if his heart raced at his voice. He wanted to believe this guy.
"You're the one lying right now, pal," he said. Dave knew what his name was. He'd had enough dreams about him to know almost everything about him. But he didn't wanna get his hopes up.
"Look, I'm not, okay?" Klaus said, desperation lacing his voice. "Dave, please. Just listen to me. Just trust me."
The last three words sent a shiver down Dave's spine. They were the words that were uttered by him at their first kiss in his dream. Their first time was also prefaced by the same three words. He had a whole love story with this man in his dream and those words were the crux of it.
He hesitated, and Klaus waited for his decision. Then Dave lifted the gun, and Klaus closed his eyes for the incoming shot.
I need a hero (BANG!)
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure, and it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life
Larger than life
The bullet whistled past his left ear and hit a man behind him. Klaus opened his eyes and looked at Dave, who was still a bit skeptical, but willing to join hands.
Immediately after, he opened the door, making Jennifer jump.
"Come on," Dave urged.
She went with them both as Klaus rejoiced internally. Dave pushed them both behind him, holding the gun steadily in his hand. But at encountering the corpses downstairs, he turned back with a stunned expression.
"Did you do all that?" he asked.
Klaus shrugged, sending the ghosts away with a swish of his hand behind his back. Ben entered through the door, looking clean for the most part. Dave raised his gun again as Ben stopped with a confused look.
"He's with me," Klaus yelled out, so that the two didn't attack each other.
"What? Klaus, he's with them," Ben pointed out.
"No, he isn't," Klaus interjected. "He's agreed to help us."
"What if he's just acting?"
"He's not, alright, now can we go? Lonnie the llama is tired of blocking the door of the lunatics' room."
They all ran out, Jennifer's hand in Ben's and Dave's in Klaus's.
Back in the Hargreeves house, all four of them were sitting in awkward silence, trying their hands at small talk.
"Must be quite cold in Canada," Abigail said.
"I mean... yeah. It can be," Viktor floundered. "The summers can be quite pleasant."
"And Luther, what about you?" she asked. "What do you do?"
"I, uh, I work in a science museum," Luther answered after gulping down the tea. "I show them around, teach them stuff and all that."
"Oh, how wonderful!" Abigail regaled. "You've all done so well for yourselves. No thanks to your father, I might add."
"I heard that!" Reginald's voice boomed from behind the elder woman. "My chief of security informs me that the tiny hamlet of New Grumpson, Maine, is still smoldering in the wake of your colossal ineptitude."
The big words made the kids roll their eyes as Reginald leaned in to give Abigail a peck on her cheek.
"Reggie, darling, please," Abigail said soothingly, trying to calm him down.
"Tell me everything I want to know now or suffer the consequences," he said, sounding pretty non-threatening.
Viktor's eyes beamed orange as she got up, her power getting activated, "You first!"
Allison squeezed his arm, encouraging him to sit back down and relax.
"Ah, so it's true," Reginald declared. "I suspected you couldn't have done all that damage au naturel. But how?"
"Reggie. Enough," Abigail warned. "Is this really how you treat our guests? Threats and interrogations? Now, sit down, and we'll have a conversation like a civilized species."
"Guess we know who wears the monocle in this relationship," Allison murmured, making Viktor and Luther snicker under their breaths.
They both sat down as Reginald heaved a sigh.
"Tea, darling?" Abigail inquired followed by a, "No, thank you, darling," by Reginald.
"Now, if I may be so bold as to ask," Reginald started. "How did you regain your powers? Why did you destroy the town of New Grumpson? And... what have you done with the girl?"
"Well, it's kind of a long story, but it all started with these cult leaders named Gene and Jean Thibedeau," Luther said, thinking that he might be the one behind the Keepers as well.
"I'm unfamiliar with those names," Reginald said.
"You know what, the real question, is why you would build an entire town to hold a girl prisoner?" Allison asked.
"Her name is Jennifer," Reginald corrected. "And I wasn't holding her prisoner. I was protecting her."
"Protecting her from what?" Viktor demanded.
"From you, naturally," the elder man replied plainly.
"So, she is one of us," Allison said with a scoff.
"I'm afraid not. She's nothing like you. In fact, she's your complete opposite in every way imaginable. And, she has more power than all of you put together."
"Hey!" A guard yelled out as the door opened and closed.
Diego, Lila, Five, and Clementine came inside.
Diego held up a file in his hand and announced, "We need to talk about Ben."
He explained everything to the group, while pointing at the file.
"It's mostly redacted, though," he finished, handing the file to Allison's outstretched hand.
"Oh, great, so we can't read it or see it," Allison said sarcastically, opening it anyway.
"From what I can tell, this document is from our original timeline," Five explicated. "It explains how Ben died. It refers to it as the 'Jennifer incident'."
"But we already know how Ben died," Luther intervened.
"Okay, then. Tell us," Five demanded.
"Well, it was a tragic accident. Ben, our Ben, died because we failed as a team. Nobody was responsible, and..."
Luther trailed off as his face twisted into a perplexed one.
"And what?" Five asked. Then, he turned to his sister. "Allison, how did Ben die?"
"It was a tragic accident," she said, mirroring Luther's words. "Ben died because we-"
"Failed as a team," Luther joined in.
"Nobody was responsible, yet we were all responsible," Diego, Allison and Luther said together. "Ben Hargreeves represented the best of us. Ben was the Umbrella Academy."
They all finished the lines with confused and scared faces, not being able to understand what Five confirmed.
"What kind of sick party trick is this?" Lila asked Reginald.
"Okay, can any one of you remember how Ben actually died?" Five asked. "Anything?"
"Well, I wasn't there," Viktor said.
"Well, neither was I, but the rest of you were," Five explained as Luther, Allison, and Diego tried to recall the mission. "You think you'd remember something about the death of your beloved brother, but you don't."
"What the hell is going on here?" Luther asked.
"Isn't it obvious?" Five asked plainly, turning to Reginald. "Someone's been playing putty with your hippocampus."
"Messing with our memories," Diego concluded.
"As fascinating as this may be, I assure you I haven't the foggiest notion of what this is about," Reginald said.
"You know something, old man," Diego said, walking over to his chair and standing beside Lila.
"You are speculating about the actions of a completely different version of myself from a completely different timeline! That said, it does sound like something I might do."
All of them sighed insufferably at the response, as they fought the urge to strangle the man.
"There may or may not have been a certain clandestine project with a certain clandestine intelligence agency," he narrated.
"Human experiments on the mind," Clementine speculated.
"I should have known," Five murmured.
"Psychological warfare was all the rage in the 60s. But it was only a brief contract. Immensely lucrative."
"So, you can erase memories?" Luther asked incredulously.
"With the human mind, anything is possible, young man," Reginald said proudly.
"If you can erase them, you can restore them, right?" Lila asked.
"With the proper technology," Reginald replied.
"Which you have?"
"Naturally," he affirmed. "I'm sure it's in this building somewhere."
"All right, old man," Five said. "You're gonna put 'em back. Each and every memory that has to do with Ben's death. Because, if you erased the Jennifer incident, that means there was something important enough that you'd take the time to get rid of it."
"I will do no such thing!" Reginald burst out. "We need to track down the girl before it's too late."
"Reggie, please," Abigail interrupted.
"Darling, this is messy work. It could take hours, days."
"Whatever chain of events has been set in motion is ultimately your handiwork. Whatever timeline it happened in, help them. Please."
Her words seemed to do the trick, because he looked at all of them with a defeated sigh.
"Well, then. Let's get on with it, I suppose."

Season 3 Episode 9
⚠️⚠️ s3 spoilers ⚠️⚠️
Definitely thought today was episode 8.. and now I'm scared because it's closer to the relase date...
It makes sense though because I was literally just thinking, how could it be episode 8, I don't remember there being that much left. Then again, I was kind of waiting for the sigil and cockroaches since episode 1, so.
Okay, starting off, it was really just... (there's a word I want but can't remember and I keep using sad, but I don't want to use the word sad because it's deeper than that, but that's all I can think of right now) sad that Luther created all of those reports and samples for nothing. And he had a picture of his siblings. Minus Viktor. Both of those are just so depressing.
It seems I forgot a semi important detail. I used to wonder why Luther or how Luther didn't discover Abigail because through all of his 4 years stranded on the moon, surely he would have stumbled upon her. But no, because there was a geo fence, so he couldn't pass that point.
It's simply amazing how Ben has "ASSHOLE" written on his back.
And Five's speech 😭
Wow... how naive I was... Allison just magically going from absolutely terrible to in the morning apologizing to everyone. And I believed it.
We don't talk enough about Five sitting at the edge of the world. He's just watching the world he spent a whole straight month trying to save just wither away. Because he's done. And when reginald comes out he knows exactly what he wants. Because it's Sir Reginald Hargreeves. And he always will be. No matter what timeline. So he immediately says no. Because he's so done. He's tired. He's exhausted. And he's lived way too long.
And of course, when he says he wants to be alone, Reggie sits anyway.
Oh. And he just straight up tells him. Well, not necessarily straight up. But he says that you never forget your first love. He says he didn't do enough to save his first love. And that he hopes the kids can help him with that.
He can't forget Abigail. He never will. He couldn't save her. She died, and he put her on the moon to try and one day bring her back to life. And now he's using Project Oblivion to bring her back.
They're all so cute for clapping when Five comes. And mentioning the speech. And he defends himself, "It was the booze talking. In the light of day, you're all still deplorable." Sure, Five. You think they're all bad. I'll believe that. After, you know, spending 28 days trying to stop the apocalypse so you can save them and being stuck in one for 45 years to get back to your family.
I hate knowing that Allison is the one who made the deal. And that the whole "I'm sorry" speech was bs. I mean, some of it has to be real. You can't just pull that out of your butt in desperation. But still.
And Allison saying "We've all lost people." And flipping looks towards Five and says, "Mannequins..." 😭😭 stop. Stop. Actually stop. Because I CAN'T 😭
"I saw the future. And it told me to sit this one out. I vote stay." Yeah. Yeah, I vote stay, too.
I honestly... don't know. I can't know if I like or dislike Allison. I can't know if I like or dislike Reginald. I am, however, starting to understand them more. They are both fighting out of love. And I can respect that. But their actions... not so much.
Like Reg killing Luther. "There's an old saying, Luther. The best way to bring a family together is at a wedding or a funeral." Yeah.. we're familiar. The funeral in the very first episode of the show. The wedding just last episode, and now. You've killed your own son.
Klaus is like, "Come on, what are you waiting for? And Five is so pissed. He knows Reginald killed Luther, but the kugelblitz is right there, and he has to go through. "This isn't over!" It never will be.
"You're just more trouble than you're worth."
For fucks sake Reginald!! You're killing everyone!!!
And Klaus kills himself on the white Buffalo either because he wants to go out on his own terms or because he doesn't want to be gone forever. He'd rather die where he can live in the afterlife. See his mom. Luther.
Your gifs! I can't find a majority of the ones I want.

Luther Hargreeves defense rant.
Okay I just have to write my thoughts down and feel free to unfollow me after this. Luther Hargreeves DOES NOT deserve the hate he gets. /I know I used to hate him too but I changed my mind and now you will all hear why/ First of all, he is Number One which essentially means he is oldest when it comes to dynamics of siblings. It was drilled into his brain (since he was child) that he is the leader, that he is supposed to take care of his siblings, that if anything goes sideways - he is the one to blame. (I think in comics Luther blames himself for Ben’s death). This kind of pressure fucks you up enough, you never learn how to take care of yourself or to think about yourself first because there is always someone else (sibling) to be taken care of. Luther was literally the last man standing. His team, his siblings - he had to watch them leave one by one. Some without explanation (Five), some by tragedy (Ben) and eventually the whole academy dissolved. He was the last man standing, staying with Reginald. Okay, granted, you can call him stupid for staying with Reggie for so long. The blind devotion he bore to his father. Take this: we all at some point of our lives had an illusion about our parents, and it eventually ended up shattered. Especially with abusive parents, there is always a hope we hold for as long as possible (that they love us, that they mean well, that there is reason for their behaviour, an excuse to excuse them). Imagine losing all of your siblings one by one right in front of your eyes, having no one to talk to anymore, being a ghost in that huge mansion without a person to care about you (examples: *that shot of Luther eating alone in kitchen*, “You don’t have to call me by my number anymore.” “Why?” “Because I am the only one here”). That is burdening and heartbreaking and sad and you can fight me on that. Secondly, he literally almost died and then his father turned his body into something Luther hates every second of his existence. And then, he is sent to the Moon, for four years. (Lot of you could start pulling out “Five spent 45 years in apocalypse” card and let me stop you right there. Yes, Five’s trauma is valid - so is Luther’s. It was still isolation, it was still being on your own and to add spice to it, Luther believed it had purpose (which upon finding out it was all fake and lie, shattered him completely) and Luther knew his siblings were well and living/ enjoying their life. He was there, trapped, serving his father and (according to that one quote by a producer) thinking about ending it all. You can’t dismiss all of that just because it was not an apocalypse and 45 years. In season two, Luther was suicidal and self destructive /him implying he doesn’t care he will die with the rest of world, him letting that guy beat the shit out of him, etc./ and some of you just ignore it. Luther Hargreeves has as much of trauma as the rest of TUA but because he isn't "funny/dramatic/addicted (Klaus) or fucking furious (Diego) or actively sarcastic and self-sacrificing (Five) or numbed down bisexual (Vanya), people love to ignore it and brush it off and hate on him. He is not that relatable or that funny or that tragic but THAT DOES NOT MAKE ALL OF WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM ANY LESS VALID!. You wanna say: Oh but he locked up Vanya! Okay, granted he did. He did hella stupid shits. So did the rest of them. Klaus never told them Ben was there, Vanya killed Pogo and ended the world, Allison manipulated everyone around her, Diego has been reckless without regard to law or his own life often enough, Five is a literal assassin, etc. And as my good friend @old-goddess-writer pointed out: the rest of them can hide their trauma, their powers, they can choose not show them off, they can fake and pretend (I am NOT! saying that's advantage or a good thing or healthy thing, but it is choice they have). Luther won’t ever be able to hide what has been done to him, because the proof everyone can see -is his body. And he hates it. He won’t ever be able to go and pretend to have life because people will point
fingers at him. I don’t intend to make his sibling’s traumas any less valid or important. I am just saying I will no longer stand Luther Hargreeves slander. F I G H T M E. btw. @disco-tea you might like to read this.

Secrets | F.H
Paring: Five Hargreeves X Fem!Reader
Summary: Five has a hidden soft spot for the Hargreeves friend. He makes a sudden decision when they start suspect something.
The Hargreeves family didn’t divulge into technology that much. Allison was the only one with a proper cellphone. That statement would’ve still been confirmed if they hadn’t been introduced to a female named Y/n.
While the girl inhabited powers such as telekinesis, she lived an everyday life. She had walked up to the academy one day and introduced herself. To say they were hesitant would be putting it lightly.
However, Y/n was the glue they needed to stay together. After helping them through saving the world and doomsday, they recognized that she was more needed than they thought.
Now they all sat at a restaurant together, excluding Y/n. The girl had decided to stay with her parents for the evening instead.
“ So Five. “ Allison pondered as she took a sip from her drink, “ You and Y/n have been relatively close lately. “
Klaus giggled, “ I’ve seen you two hang out together! “ Klaus exclaimed, and Five groaned, “ Glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed. “ Diego murmured.
“ Do you like her? “ Vanya queried, “ No. She's a friend, nothing more. “ Five responded sternly.
Allison raised her eyebrows in rebuttal, “ I don’t think so. I’ve seen you two together. “ Allison said unconvinced, “ Fantastic! You can see. Amazing thing, really. “ The teenage boy spat sarcastically.
Luther rolled his eyes, “ We don’t mean to harp on you, Five. We just like seeing you happy. “ Vanya softly defended, “ I appreciate it, but she’s nothing more than a friend. “
Five sighed as he threw his blazer to the floor and collapsed on Y/n’s bed, making the young girl chuckled at his antics. Gently she ran her fingers through his hair.
“ They’re catching on. “ Five-spoke muffled through her pillows, “ Mm? “ Y/n hummed, confused.
Five lifted his head from the pillow, “ They’re catching on. “
The boy had now flipped, so his back was laid against the mattress, and he stared at the ceiling of the girl's bedroom.
“ I mean, it isn’t a bad thing if they found out. “ Y/n responded, laying beside him, “ Maybe not, but I thought you wanted to keep this secret. “ Five stated, looking at her e/c eyes.
Y/n sighed, “ I just don’t want them to constantly be on us, ya know? “ Y/n confessed, “ Yeah, I get it. “ Five said in agreement.
“ I love you. “ Y/n muttered smiling, “ I love you too. “ Five smiled.
Y/n giggled, “ Come here, you big baby. “
Five chuckled and laid on her chest. His arms wrapped around her waist and his head on her chest. Y/n tangled her hand into his hair while the other rubbed his back.
He sighed and ended up falling asleep. Gently she kissed the top of his head and smiled. Y/n leaned her head back on the pillow and fell asleep. Both lovers fell asleep together.
Allison had been curious to see where Five snook off to every night. While there were times, Y/n would spend the night at the Hargreeves manor, most of the time around ten o’clock Five would disappear. Then before anyone woke up, he’d reappear.
Klaus and Allison made it their own personal mission to figure out where he was going. Although the spatial jumped to her house every night, they would find little things to help.
Example one, when Five came home one morning after falling asleep at Y/n’s house, he wore an unfamiliar pair of sweatpants. Example two, this time, he came home with a hoodie that most definitely wasn’t his.
The last example was the scent on the hoodie. It didn’t smell of his cologne. It smelt of her perfume. Not to mention he slept with the little stuffed animal she gave him when he was sick.
So a couple of weeks later, at again, another family dinner, they brought it up.
“ So Fivey, how’s Y/n? “ Klaus queried, “ What do you mean? “ Five questioned suspiciously.
Diego snickered, “ Well, we all know you disappear at night and don’t come back till the morning. You aren’t slick. “ Allison responded, “ You’ve also come back home in new clothing that definitely wasn’t yours. Not to mention, I don’t think you put on perfume. “
“ You can’t forget the best part, sister Allison; he also sleeps with the stuffed animal Y/n gave him while he was sick. “ Klaus added, smiling brightly, “ How in the hell did you find out about all that? “ Five asked with a particular annoyance in his tone.
“ It’s pretty obvious. “ Vanya commented, “ You don’t ever change out of the clothes when you appear back home. Not to mention you fall asleep with the door open. “
Five groaned, “ Just admit it, Fivey. You like little Y/n. “ Klaus teased, “ She’s my friend. “ Five counterclaimed.
“ Mm, if that’s the case, then why do you go to her house every night and not come back home till morning? “ Allison queried, “ I spend time with her. Sometimes I spend the night with her to leave our horrid house. “ The flustered male admitted.
“ So when she wears your blazer, it’s just coincidental? “ Diego asked, “ S- She wears my blazer? “ Five blushed.
Klaus chuckled, “ All the time! I saw her yesterday at the park wearing it. I thought she was some form of imposter. “ Klaus responded, and Five’s face was a bright magenta, “ I- I didn’t know. “ The boy muttered.
Vanya put a hand on his shoulder, “ It’s okay if you like her. We’re not judging you. We actually quite like her. “
“ Fine. We’re dating. We’ve been dating for some months now. I disappear to her house to spend the night there, so I don’t have a panic attack or feel like I’m back in the apocalypse. “ Five confessed, slightly agitated, “ Wow. “ A surprised Allison spoke.
Without warning, Five had spatial jumped out of dinner. Y/n almost jumped in shock when Five appeared in her bedroom, looking upset. So without hesitation, she stood up and hugged him.
His face was nuzzled in her neck as he left a gentle kiss on her shoulder, his arms wrapped securely around her.
“ What’s wrong, my love? “ Y/n questioned as her hand played with his hair, “ Marry me. “
“ What? “

'So where are these so-called friends that you have, Y/N?' Five asked impatiently, bothering me for the last five minutes.
'Shut up, they're coming. We just got here like two minutes ago.'
Allison smiled, 'Someone is eager to go in.'
Five glared at her, shaking his head. 'Ha, you're funny. I'm just tired of wai-'
'They're here!' I waved at my friends and ran to them, hugging them and greeting them. Getting the wristbands that they've promised me, I got back to my family and gave them one of each.
'How's Five going to get in?' Luther asked, but by the time we looked over at our not so younger brother, he was gone.
Assuming Five just zapped himself into the club, we lined up and got ourselves into the building.
Smiles formed on everyone's face, making me smile even more. I was happy that everyone was excited, my siblings deserved happiness and more.
Klaus clapped, 'I'm starting to sober up and that's a big fat no. Drinks on me, who wants some?'
Ben and Klaus went to the back towards the bar, buying everyone rounds of drinks to bring back. While the rest of us stayed, still no sign of Five, I looked at them and smiled.
'What's with the goofy smile?' Diego asked, I rolled my eyes and hit him. 'What? You're really happy tonight.'
'Of course I am, dummy. I'm out with you guys, what's not to be smiling about?' I pulled on his arm, 'Come on. Let's go to the dance floor.'
'Ha, I'm not dancing. Take others with you instead.'
'Luther is busy with those girls that's surrounding him, Allison and Vanya has been gone and you're the only one looking like a lost, sad puppy.'
'You don't think Luther needs our help?'
I looked over at him and laughed, 'He seems like he's enjoying the attention he's getting from them. He'll be alright. Now let's go.'
Diego rolled his eyes, 'I'll just watch.'
'Don't be a butt, come on.' I pulled on him again, this time he walked with me as he groaned.
We walked down to the dance floor, shoving ourselves through the sweaty crowd as we found Allison, Vanya and Five squeezed together.
'Exactly why is this fun?' Five said as he was sandwiched between two giant guys that were jumping up and down.
Allison turned around, dancing to the music the DJ was playing. 'Get drunk, dance your stress away. We're out the freaking house, Five.'
'Huh?' Five shouted, not being able to hear what Allison had said to him. She ignored him and continued to dance as she grabbed Vanya's hands.
I started to dance with my sisters, singing along and jumping up and down. Diego and Five just stood awkwardly, watching us drunk girls dancing.
'Excuse me, sorry. Ah, my fault.' Ben screamed from behind as he came with three drinks in his hand, followed by Klaus who was sipping from one of the cups.
Klaus handed us our drinks, 'Damn. It took us forever to look for you guys. I saw Luther's big ass but he's with those girls.'
'Our boy is busy.' I grinned as I pulled the straw into my mouth, sipping on my drink to get myself more drunk.
Five started groaning, I looked to see two girls talking to him and wondering how he ended up here. 'Aw, little kid are you lost? Poor thing.'
'No, I'm with them.' He replied angrily, arms crossed as he scooted himself towards Ben.
'Ah, you brought a boy to a club? What is wrong with you guys!' The girl said, given how bad it looked I never consider how it'll look from other perspective.
'Wait, no. It's- let me explain!' Ben stumbled with words, stuttering as he tried to reason with them. 'He- he's just a really really late bloomer. We're all actually in our 20s okay.'
'I'm just stuck in this body as an adult. Don't lie to them!' Five tried to defend himself, although it wouldn't really help with the confusing situation.
Klaus frowned and leaned towards the girls. 'Yeah, he's in denial. Very sensitive subject that we like to avoid.'
The girls nodded, awed as they were sympathize of our "situation" that we'd explained to them. 'So sorry, you guys have fun.'
'I hate you guys.' Five mumbled, snatching the cup from Allison's hand and drinking from it.
'Hey, I wasn't fini-'
'Y/N, this is the best night ever!' Luther came into the dance floor, cheerful as ever. 'Thank you for bringing me here because this is amazing.'
Diego chuckled, 'Of course. You were practically having a foursome with those girls over there.'
'You're just jealous.' Luther stuck his tongue out like a seven year old boy. Klaus, Ben and I laughed hysterically; it was even funnier because we were drunk, and Luther, our "daddy's boy" brother was enjoying sneaking out of the mansion.
'One of my friends are single, if you want me to set you-'
'Y/N, drop it.' Diego turned away, 'I need to take a leak. You guys better stay here.'
As Diego walked away with Five to the bathroom, we continued to dance and drink. Vanya was giggling, swaying back and forth as Ben and Allison had a dance-off seeing who can bring out the best moves. Klaus and I were downing the rest of our drinks, practically singing our face off as the DJ played such good music.
'Ah, we need more drin-' Klaus paused mid-sentence, looking back and forth between me and the stage. 'So you are whoring around, you whore.'
'Don't know what you're talking about.' I denied, not understand how Klaus came to this conclusion. 'I don't get it.'
He hit me on my side, 'Don't play dumb with me! I see you and that DJ eye humping each other.'
He wasn't making things up when he had said that; I did have my eyes on the DJ. 'We are not eye humping each other. He doesn't even know me.'
'Well, he knows you now because he's staring at you and I swear your clothes will burn off soon because he won't stop.' Ben chuckled, guessing that he noticed it as well.
'You're crazy.' I didn't think he noticed me at all, I mean he was the DJ. He was overlooking everyone on the dance floor, it'd be dumb to assume he had his eyes on me.
Allison joined in on the conversation, 'I noticed that too! I thought you guys fucked before or something.'
'No! What do you guys think I am?'
'A girl with needs.' Klaus smiled.
'Just because I sneak out does not mean I'm going around sleeping with random people.'
Vanya laughed, 'Okay well, you can with him. There he goes, looking at you. Don't look.'
'You guys lost your minds.'
'Says the girl that sneaks behind dad and her siblings.' Luther joked.
'Okay, Luther don't get me started with you and those girls.'
Luther grunted, 'Ugh. I-'
'Hey, big fella over there.' The DJ got on the mic as he pointed at Luther. 'Why don't you come on the stage, get the crowd going!'
'Go, go!' Ben and Klaus shoved Luther towards the stage, even with him being hesitant and shy. 'Go show what the Hargreeves are all about!'
'I-I can't!' Luther hesitated, planted on the floor even when all of us tried to encourage him to go up there.
The DJ smiled at Luther, then looked at me. 'Dude, bring your friends up here too. We're going to turn this dance floor around for a bit.'
'Come on, he's calling for you!' Allison cheered as she pulled me and Klaus' hand, running up the stage.
Luther, Ben and Vanya trailed from behind, standing next to us while we danced to the DJ's new song he was playing.
Pulling Luther towards me, I gave him the last few sips I had in my cup before I threw it away. 'Here, you are probably starting to sober up. You need more.'
'Ah, Y/N. What makes you think I'm not drunk right now?'
'Because I remember when you were the night-'
'Okay, okay. You and Klaus never let that night go.'
The DJ leaned in as he kept playing music, 'Hey. If you and your boyfriend want more drinks, it's on the house.'
'Ha, she's not my girlfriend.' Luther chuckled.
'Ah, I stand corrected.' The DJ then turned to me and smiled sweetly. 'Would you mind if I buy you a drink?'
I couldn't tell if it was the alcohol or him, but I felt my cheeks getting warmer as the cute guy spoke to me. 'No, I wouldn't mind.'
The DJ bit his lip, taking his headphones off and walking downstairs. 'Alright, I'll be right back.'
Allison tapped on my sides repeatedly as he walked away. 'You lucky! He's so cute.'
'Maybe he has a brother. I call dibs though.' Klaus stared at him, eyeing him as he went up to the bar to get some drinks.
While Allison and Vanya continued to dance on the stage, Luther was once again being surrounded by a bunch of girls from the dance floor.
'Y/N is scoring some tonight and Luther is getting all these attention again.' Klaus shrugged his shoulders, looking around. 'What in the hell did Luther do to have these girls crawling around like crazy?'
'Wait, wait. Scoring some? I barely said a word to this dude.'
'Whatever, man. I need to go back down and look for someone now.'
Ben chuckled, patting Klaus on his shoulder. 'I got your back, bro. Come on I'll be your wingman.'
As soon as Klaus heard those words come out of Ben's mouth, they both left the stage so quick I couldn't even speak to them back. Trailing them down the dance floor, I see the DJ coming back on stage with drinks in his hands.
'Here you go, I didn't know which drinks you like so I hope you like this one.' He was sweet, it could've been an act to try to talk to me but I didn't mind for one night. 'I'm Luke by the way.'
'Y/N. And this is perfect, thank you.' I gave him a flirty smile but then was interrupted when I saw something in the corner of my eye.
I looked through the crowd and saw Diego and Five, glaring at me and my siblings that were on the stage. They seemed like how Reginald would react in this situation; catching his children sneaking out at night and hanging out at a club.
Except it wasn't dad, it was my weird brothers that couldn't grasp what fun was. Watching us as if they were disappointed fathers that just saw their crazy teenager kids discovering drinking and partying for the first time.
'Oops.' It came out of my mouth naturally as I stared at Diego and Five, followed by a giggle that I couldn't help. It was funny watching them being weirdly upset with us, especially when it felt like the club was spinning round and round.
'You guys are screwed.' Five mouthed back, shaking his head as he watched us from down the dance floor.

My eyes shot open, not knowing where I was at for a moment until I realized I was in my room. I then see Diego sitting on my bed side chair, watching me as if he was guarding me.
'Rise and shine, zombie.' Diego chuckled, seeing how crazy I looked with messed up makeup and a bed head.
'Ho-how did I get here last night.' I turned around and looked around, noticed that the cute DJ guy wasn't in my bed. 'I don't remember anything.'
Diego grinned, 'You're curious huh.'
'Where is Luke-Oh no... Did I do something stupid?' I was confused, so confused because I thought everything was going good last night. But now that I didn't remember anything after I said hi to him, I got scared. 'Oh my- Did I do something embarrassing? Fuck.'
'Well, I don't know what you define "embarrassing" but yeah. You definitely made the crowd go wild last night.' Diego started laughing, his loud voice ringing in my ear from my hangover.
Covering my ears, I shook my head. 'Diego... shh. My head hurts okay.'
'This is why I don't drink.'
I shook my head, 'Is everyone back safely?'
'Oh, don't even worry about everyone else, they're perfectly fine. It was you that we had a hard time bringing home, Y/N.'
'So can you tell me what happened?'
'Sure, after you acknowledge that I'm the best brother ever.' Diego raised his eyebrows, adjusting his positioning on the chair.
A light laugh just escaped my mouth, keeping my mouth closed so I wouldn't start burst out laughing. 'You're kidding me right? Really?'
'Yes really. I had to carry you home, tuck you into bed after you kicked and screamed, help you get up so you can throw up. I didn't even know humans were physically able to throw up so much.'
When Diego put it like that, I felt bad that he had to take care of me throughout the night. 'Okay Diego, you're the best brother in the world. Also I'm sorry you had to do all that for me.'
'Aha, no worries. That was probably the most entertaining night ever.' He laughed, 'You were fucking crazy.'
I smiled, I bet Diego really enjoyed me making a fool of myself or whatever I did last night that got him giggling nonstop. 'So are you going to tell me?'
'Hmm, nope. Thanks for the compliment though.'
'Ugh, I hate you.'
'Not according to yesterday you don't.' Diego smirked.

summary: after a long family meeting and more booze, you decide to make a bold move and profess your buried feelings.
part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Men are stupid shitheads.” You concluded, setting your flask on the counter, looking at the new bangs Allison had just cut for you.
Even in her drunken state, they seemed to be very nicely done. You were quite surprised by the way they turned out, but pleased nonetheless. It was a spontaneous decision, getting bangs. You had been sitting in the hair salon she was working at with her, Klaus and Vanya after a not so great family meeting.
Hugs were shared, true, but then arguments started and before you even knew it, Luther stormed out, Diego followed him, Five went missing for whatever business he had, and Klaus claimed that Ben was not even there- apparently, ghosts can’t time travel.
So, it was just the four of you, drunk in a hair salon, with too much alcohol and way too many scissors around you, complaining about how shitty your love lives could be.
“Amen.” Klaus raised his drink in the air, “I’ll drink to that.”
“Right?” Allison nodded, combing her second client, Klaus, “The nerve of Ray! I mean, one thing goes wrong and he’s on a warpath!” She vented, holding the bottle of liquor in her free hand, “I mean, doesn’t know who I am?! No, no! No, Ray- you know exactly who I am, you just can’t handle it!”
You watched with a raised brow as Vanya was out of zone, pretending to be shooting the long line of empty bottles gathered in front of her, as Allison kept on continuing her rant. Her husband had just seen her use her powers on the night they started the protest, and was now having a real hard time comprehending what was going on. You didn’t see him at home either, so you figured he may have been upset with you as well for maybe hiding the secret. Or maybe he thought you were like her, who knows?
“Hey, wouldn’t it be weird if Five grew up all hot?” Klaus suddenly asked, taking a drag out of his cigarette, as he got up from his seat to walk around the hair salon, “Wouldn’t that be weird?”
“Why would you even think of your brother like that?” You asked riddled, narrowing your eyes at the man as his sisters almost gagged at the thought.
“Oh, please, you’ve been thinking that, haven’t you?” Klaus asked, pointing at you as you took another swig from your nearly empty flask.
“I... I mean- he’s... Five... uh... no comment!” You suddenly declared, at loss of words, as you got up from your seat, trying to maintain your balance as you made your way towards the bottle of liquor to fill your flask again.
“When are you two gonna confess your feelings?” Allison asked with a groan, letting her head fall backwards as she sat on the chair, “It’s getting really tiring!”
“We have an apocalypse going on!” You argued, “There’s no time for feelings!”
“This is the perfect time for feelings!” Klaus chimed in, taking another drag out of his cigarette, “These might be your last six days on Earth! Do you want to die regretting that you never told Five how you felt about him?”
“I’m not having this conversation anymore.” You declared, out of arguments, as you poured liquor in your flask, “Why don’t we talk about Allison’s crush on Luther instead?”
“We have never even kissed!” Allison defended herself, causing Vanya to spin on her chair confused, looking between the three of you.
“Yeah, but you guys were making little sick moon-dog eyes at each other all through puberty and breakfasts and... all that.” Klaus waved her off, sipping from his own flask.
“Aren’t we all brothers and sisters, or...?” Vanya wondered confused, as you and Klaus snorted amused at her innocence.
“Well... technically...” Allison tried to find an excuse or explanation, but she was having a hard time putting her thoughts in place.
“Technically?” Klaus raised a brow, “If you....” He stammered, trying to regain his train of thought, “If you have to use the word technically, you’re already in trouble.”
“Okay, can we go back to Five and Y/N?” Allison tried to change the subject, “Or maybe at least help me save my marriage?”
“That’s like...” Klaus stumbled on his own feet, filling his flask again, as you leaned against Vanya’s chair curiously, “That’s like asking a nun how to hump someone’s leg! I mean, who in this room knows shit about relationships? This one?” He asked, pointing at Vanya, “In secret love with some farm Frau!”
“Her name’s Sissy.” Vanya informed him.
“Which is an improvement on her previous love interest.” He said, looking at you and Allison, as you shook your heads to slightly tell him to shut up, “...the serial killer.”
“What?!” Vanya yelled, looking between you and Allison for an explanation, but you just softly waved her off, promising to remind her later.
“And look at this one!” Klaus ignored the three of you, pointing at... well, you, “A fifty year old assassin, who got the chance to be a teen again, but she is too afraid to admit her feelings for the... wait, is Five a boy or a man?”
“Both?” You raised a brow, unsure of the answer.
“Meanwhile, I’m carrying a torch for a soldier I haven’t technically met yet, and Luther is in love with his sister.” Klaus waved you off, trying to keep his balance again on his feet.
“Okay, again- we are not biological!” Allison tried to defend herself once more, but Klaus simply ignored her.
“Face it, the healthiest long-term relationship in this family was when Five was banging that mannequin.” He said, making all of you nod in agreement, as you couldn’t help but confess, taking another chug out of your flask;
“I can’t believe I got to the point where I was jealous of Dolores.”
Okay, maybe ‘banging’ and ‘jealous’ were strong words, but you had to admit you were not that pleased when one of the first things that Five did when he got back to 2019, was go to some store to get back his plastic girlfriend who kept him company in the four decades he spent all by himself in the apocalypse.
You understood his mind, though. You would have gone insane as well if you had to be all alone after the end of the world, without another soul on the planet. Nonetheless, you still were maybe a tad too happy when he decided to return her to the store.
Leaving you the only woman he had eyes for, unbeknownst to you.
“I’m gonna tell Sissy that I love her.” Vanya suddenly declared, straightening her position confidently.
“You go, girl!” You cheered, clapping for your friend.
“I don’t want any secrets.” She said, making you and the other two nod in agreement, contemplating about your own lives.
“Yeah!” Allison said, getting up with the bottle of alcohol tightly clutched in her hand, “Yeah, yeah- you’re right! Yes, ‘cause, you know- if this all goes tits-up, the least I can do is be honest with my husband!
“Oh, does that mean I have to face my cult?” Klaus sighed, “I just hate group break-ups, it’s why I stopped dating twins!”
You pondered about it for a moment, in your state that was definitely not the most sober. You had a lot of alcohol coursing through your veins, but you felt like maybe it was better. You could think with your heart more than you could think with your brain, and your heart was telling you that your friends were right.
They all are getting themselves ready to take big risks in their lives, why shouldn’t you? They had a valid point; the world was gonna end in six days if you guys couldn’t find a way to solve this. Last time you didn’t have the brightest plan, so why should this time be a success? Reality hit you; there was a real big chance that you might die.
So why not just be honest with Five? What was the worst that could happen? You manage to save the world and Five rejects you? Big deal!
Well, it actually was a big deal.
“What if he rejects me?” You asked all of a sudden, causing the three siblings to turn to you, “What if I tell Five how I feel about him and he rejects me? I know maybe at my age I shouldn’t be this anxious about a man, but... it’s not like I’m going anywhere, I’m glued to the Hargreeves clan.”
And it was true. After the events of the 2019 apocalypse, right before you and the others got separated, you shared an adorable moment in which you confessed to each other how happy you were to have met and be taken into their family as one of their own.
“Normally, I’d say to not ponder on that for too... long.” Klaus slurred, “But given that it’s Five, you don’t even have to worry about that.”
“He’s right.” Allison shrugged, “That won’t be a problem.
“I have no memory of any of you, but from the hug I’ve seen you two share earlier- you’re not just friends.” Vanya spoke up, making you stare into nothingness for a moment.
I mean, it’s Five we are talking about. If he were to have any feelings, it’s not like he’d be honest with them or act, right? It would be up to you to make the first move.
You let out a long sigh, rubbing your hands on your upper arms, reminding yourself of the hug. It may have been the first time you and Five actually hugged, in all the years you’ve known each other. The way he held you close and nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck, taking in your scent, feeling you in his arms, even if for him it had been only four days. You had to live with the thought that he may be dead for months.
And you hated that, you knew you wanted him alongside you. You wanted that little rude, at times obnoxious dipshit, with a soft heart- as much as he hated to admit it. You loved how much he cared about his family, about saving the world. Five is a great person; he is caring and has a big heart, as much as he tried to hide it behind his trashmouth.
“Fine!” You groaned, letting your head fall backwards, “I’ll tell Five I fucking love him and his dipshit face!”
“Yes!” Klaus clapped, as Allison and Vanya cheered proudly, “Come here!”
You and Vanya walked towards him, as Allison wrapped an arm around his waist, waiting for the two of you to skip towards them, pulling you into a group hug, as “Twistin’ the night away” by Sam Cooke blasted on the radio, causing the four of you to start a small dance party, letting for the first time in a long while your problems just go away.
For the sake of the song.
After a couple more hours of drinking, gossiping and dancing, the four of you decided to finally part ways and attend your promised business. Klaus went to deal with his cult, as Allison decided to be completely honest with her husband at home and Vanya was going to confess to Sissy.
As for you?
You were going to tell Five Hargreeves you were in love with him.
“Hey, dipshit!” You confidently yelled, running up the stairs of the store, trying to find Five.
“Y/N?” Five frowned, walking out of the kitchen with a coffee mug in his hands and a confused look on his face, “Are you... even more drunk? And did you get bangs- what the...?”
“Shut up.” You waved him off, walking towards him to grab the mug out of his hand to sober yourself up, “Why in the hell are you even drinking coffee at this hour?”
“I’m... trying to calm myself...” He frowned, watching as you chugged his freshly poured coffee.
“Normally I’d ask.” You said, setting the mug on the counter, shaking your head, “But right now what I have to say is more important.”
“Is that so?” Five raised a brow curiously, as you slowly slapped your cheeks, trying to get the room to stop moving, “Why don’t you go to bed?” He asked, gently pushing you towards the couch, “And we talk in the morning? I don’t really have time for this.”
“No!” You yelled, stopping in your tracks to poke his chest, “We don’t have to talk! I talk and you- you listen!” You said, poking his chest again, “You never have time for anything, all you can think of is your stupid apocalypse!”
“Oh yes, isn’t that a trivial thing to be thinking of?” He asked with a sarcastic smile, crossing his arms.
“I don’t need your sarcasm!” You yelled, poking his chest a third time, feeling him get more tense.
“I swear to God, Y/N, if you do that one more time-...” Five took in a deep breath, as he could feel as he was slowly losing his patience.
“Shut up!” You groaned, watching as his brows knitted in confusion, “I’m trying to confess my feelings for you, you moron!”
“W...What?” He asked, as his face suddenly softened, unfolding his arms.
“I’m in love with you!” You sighed, rubbing your face, “Okay? I-I am in love with you and I am trying to sober myself up, but I think I may have had too much to drink.”
“You think?” Five scoffed, slowly leading you towards the couch, “Are you sure you’re not saying this just because you have a ton of alcohol coursing through you?”
“Well... kinda, ‘cause if I were sober there was no way in hell I would have confessed.” You puffed, complying, as you let yourself guided by him, “Allison, Klaus and Vanya all convinced me that I should tell you, that we only have six days left on Earth and in case we don’t save it... I shouldn’t be going down with regrets.”
Five listened to your every word carefully, as you continuing venting about how his siblings spent the whole day trying to convince you to tell him about your feelings, as he slowly held your hands, as you took a seat on the couch. He nodded at your words to let you know that he was listening, as he took two pillows off the armchairs beside, placing them at one end, softly pushing you down.
“...and then Klaus said that he hates group breakups.” You said, not even noticing what was going on, feeling your lids get heavier once your head met the pillow.
“Not a surprise there...” Five muttered, grabbing the blanket that was rested on top of the couch, placing it over you.
“Are you trying to dismiss me?” You wondered, but still making yourself more comfortable, as you sat on your side, with your head facing Five, who knelt in front of you tired.
He bit back a smile, watching as you slowly closed your eyes. He knew you were extremely drunk, he could see that in the way exhaust took over you. Not only you had a lot of alcohol in your system, but you’ve also had some long couple of days, and some longer ones were ahead of you until you knew for a fact the world was safe once more.
“I don’t know how it is, that you’re the one person who actually makes me feel... soft.” He confessed, watching your lips curve into a smile at his words, “You... drunken idiot.”
“I regret nothing.” You said proudly, as Five couldn’t help but let out a small laugh, softly stroking your hair to help you fall asleep sooner.
“We’ll see about that in the morning.” He smirked amused, watching as you pouted.
“You never gave me an answer, you know.” You pointed out, letting his soft touch calm you down, as you felt sleep slowly take over you.
“You never gave me a question.” He retorted, knowing for sure that if your eyes were opened, you would roll them at him.
“I think you like to hear me say that I am in love with you, it’s the third time I have to say it.” You said, slowly placing your hands under your pillow, making yourself more comfortable.
“I am happy to see that you still know how to count.” Five said, placing some wild strands of hair behind your ear.
“Screw you.” You said, making him grin, as he went back to stroking your hair.
“In this whole... shitty situation I managed to get myself into, you, Y/N, might as well be the only thing keeping me sane... surprisingly.” Five frowned at the last bit, watching as you opened your eyes, shifting your head to watch him, “I love you too, moron.”
“I never said I love you.” You smirked, teasing him as he rolled his eyes.
“You little chipmunk...” Five sighed, shaking his head in disbelief amused, as you leaned into his touch more, closing your eyes, pleased with yourself.
“Yeah, but you still love me.” You said, not once dropping that smirk on your lips.
“You’re impossible, did you know that?” He wondered, resting his forearm on the couch beside you, as he knelt on the floor, trying to make himself more comfortable, noticing the way you were enjoying the scalp massage... for free.
“A little bit.” You slowly shrugged, wrapping your arms around his, once you felt it beside you.
Five watched with a soft smile as you pulled his arms closer to your face, nuzzling into it with a satisfied smile, happy that you listened to your friends.
And deep down, so was Five thanking his siblings.

"Three days?"
Luther took the cup of coffee that Allison offered him. "Well, that's what they said," he told her. "Or, Five, I guess."
"The old bastard did mention the apocalypse, come to think of it," Klaus said. "He just left out the part about how soon."
"But can we trust him?" Allison asked. "I don't know if you've noticed, but Five's a little-" she stopped to whistle, pointing to her head.
Klaus chuckled. "Our little psycho."
"And what about his friend?" Allison asked. "Did she say anything about it?"
"She was kind of busy chasing after Diego," Luther told her, glancing at his brother. "But, he was pretty convincing. If they weren't trying to stop an apocalypse, those two lunatics wouldn't be chasing after them."
"That's why they were after them?" Diego asked.
"Yeah." Diego sat back in his seat, jaw clenched at the idea that they were after YN, who probably only had Five to defend her.
"What did they even see?" Allison asked.
Luther looked at her, mouth open, and uncertain of what to say.
"Uh, apparently, we all fought together against whoever was responsible," Luther explained.
It was silent as they looked to him for further explanation.
He clicked his tongue and stood. "OK, so, here's the plan," he started.
Before he could say more, the three were objecting. He looked back at them.
"What actually happened the first time around?"
"Yeah," Diego agreed. "What are you not telling us? Come on, big boy, spit it out."
No one spoke as Luther nervously looked to all of them, then down at his cup. He hesitated, bringing the cup up.
"We died." It was impossible for the siblings to hear.
"What was that?" Allison asked, leaning forward.
Luther coughed. "I said, uh," he stuttered, "we died."

YN climbed through the rubble and snow, trying to get back to the grocery store as soon as possible.
Her body was much more used to the cold than the average person, her powers helping considerably.
The woman was more worried about Five, however, who didn't have the same resistance to the cold.
She had left him alone for the majority of the day in hopes of finding more food before the weather got even worse.
But while she was out, the snow kicked up. She was stuck navigating her way back through a snowstorm, worrying about how Five was doing at the same time.
YN's vision was limited through the falling snow, but she could faintly see the familiar sight of the store.
The building was just a temporary settling place until the weather evened out. It was also more intact than its surrounding buildings, making it the best choice.
YN pushed on, determined to make it back, and confirm that the idiot hadn't managed to freeze himself to death.
She pushed through the door, immediately dumping her bag and heaving a breath.
The room was much warmer than outside, the only reminder of the cold being the shrill shriek of wind heard through the walls.
"Jesus, I didn't think you were going to make it back alive." YN looked over at Five, who looked relieved yet worried.
He was by her in an instant as she wiped off as much snow from her clothes as she could.
"Are you alright?" he asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," she assured him. "I was more worried about you."
"What? Why? I'm not the one who was out in the storm."
"You're also not the one that can stand the cold," YN countered. "I had half a mind to think that I would find you freezing to death."
Five tugged her over to a fire that burned and sat her close to it.
"I'm not completely defenseless against the elements," he muttered.
"Your dad teach you guys how to make fires in apocalyptic scenarios?" she teased.
Five rolled his eyes and sat next to her.
"I'm just kidding," she laughed, pressing a kiss to his cheek before leaning her head on his shoulder.
"Have I ever told you how hilarious you are?" His words were drowned in sarcasm.
"Oh, thank you very much, sir."
Tumblr media
"I must admit, in all the time I've been here, I've never met anyone quite like the pair of you," the Handler spoke as she led Five and YN down a stone path to a roundabout.
People greeted the woman as they passed.
"Hazel and Cha Cha, for example, are talented, certainly," she said, "but they can't see the big picture."
YN zoned out as she droned out, taking in the familiar scenery with dread in her gut.
This was the last place she wanted to be, especially with all that had been going on.
They followed her into the busy building, a man taking the Handler's coat.
"I'd like to discuss the logistics of my family's safety at your earliest convenience," Five told her. "As well as this body replacement."
The three of them climbed the stairs as they spoke.
"Such chutzpah," the Handler laughed. YN gave her an odd look at the word. "It's refreshing, I'll admit. Slow down, Five, all in good time. In fact, now that you've finally agreed to work with us, we've got all the time in the world."
YN leaned in close to Five. "Are you sure this is a good idea?"
"No, but we don't have a choice, really."
They followed after the Handler as she rambled, leading them up to a specific floor.
"All the people on this floor are case managers, each one responsible for one major event at a time," she explained, leading them down a hall and turning to the first room.
Inside was a long line of desks that seemed to stretch beyond natural possibility.
YN's eyes widened at the sight of it all. "Holy shit."
"So many of them."
"Impressive, isn't it?" the Handler asked. "Being a part of something...so grand."
The clicking from all of the typewriters made YN nauseous.
"Come along." The Handler continued a step ahead of them.
"Whenever someone chooses the wrong path, and the timeline is changed, the Commission gets a report from field agents on the ground," she explained. "These field reports are sorted and assigned to a case manager. They determine if anyone needs to be removed from the equation to assure that their event happens as it should."
She led them to another room, lined with pipes. A woman stood inside, doing her job.
"Based on that determination, the case manager sends instructions via pneumatic tube to temporal assassins like the two of you formally were. Any queries so far?"
She looked at the two.
"Yeah," Five said. "Who was the case manager handling us?"
"Ah, you mean the apocalypse!"
They were led back to the case managers and down the line to a woman.
"Five, YN, meet Dot." The woman looked at them with a bright smile, which YN couldn't help but return. "Dot is responsible for all apocalypse matters. In fact, it was Dot here who first flagged your appearance in 2019."
"No hard feelings," Dot said.
"Well, you pair certainly put us through the wringer," the Handler smiled. "Outsmarting two of our so-called best temporal assassins. If that doesn't spell leadership material-" the woman paused as her voice picked up, bringing everyone around to a stop, "-I just don't know."
Everyone resumed their work as the Handler showed them to their new desks that happened to be placed inconveniently far from each other.
The two settled in their respective seats, having no choice but to work.

Hiiii, can I get a Five x deaf!reader (not apart of the series, if that’s okay) where they meet their future selves with Luther? Thanks 💞
Summary: Luther forms an unlikely alliance with Five and Y/N as they try and find the suitcase they need to get back home
Ship: Five Hargreeves x deaf!reader
Warnings: fighting, implied daddy kink 😌
Notes: sorry if this is bad I’m on a little bit of a writer’s block
——————————————————————————
“A-Are you sure this is appropriate to d-d-d-do?” Y/N asks as her, Five and Luther are hiding behind a table while waiting for their 58-year old selves to arrive.
“This is our only option left.” Five answers, and immediately quiets down when he sees what they were waiting for.
Older Y/N and Five are seen sitting down at a bar, him holding a suitcase in his hand. They remember that day very clearly - it was the day they came back to the Hargreeves family.
Five straightens his tie, attempting to start a conversation with them before he’s stopped by Luthers hand on his chest.
“Okay, maybe I should talk to them first. You know, warm them up? So they aren’t freaked out?”
He thinks for a moment before sighing and letting him go. Five turns to Y/N who has a nervous look on her face.
“Hey, you okay?” He asks, grabbing her hand. She jumps slightly at his touch making him more concerned.
“Fine. I’m fine. T-Totally fine.” Y/N answers a little too quickly for his liking. He nods, still suspicious and they walk towards their (physically) older selves.
“Hey there old pal.” Five greets them.
——————————————————————————
It’s a stare down between the four of them. Luther shifts awkwardly in his seat in front of them, finally attempting to change the topic.
“So...this is nice, huh? Just the 5 of us...” He smiles and hopes that it defuses the tension.
“Does anyone want to explain why I’m having a pint with my 13 year old self and my 13 year old wife?” Older Five seethed, not breaking eye contact with the two.
“Older, actually.” Younger Five corrects.
“14 d-d-days older.” Y/N adds, causing his older husband to look at her with widended eyes.
“How can you hear?” He asks.
“You s-see, there’s t-t-this great invention called h-h-h-h-hearing aids.”
——————————————————————————
Soon enough, they started to get into business, Luther slowly watching the younger Five and Y/N making sure they didn’t have any symptoms for paradox psychosis - unfortunately, he had already seen some changes in the 2.
“So, do we have a deal?” Five asked his physically older self, starting to get impatient. The two looked at each other, hatrid engraved in their eyes.
“I need to use the restroom.” He hissed through gritted teeth, patting older Y/N’s head before leaving. She excuse herself too, causing suspicion around the 3.
“I don’t trust them.” Five whispers. Luther looks at him confused as Y/N nods in agreement.
“But...they’re you?”
“Exactly.” She responded, wiping the sweat off of her forehead. Luther noticed this action and gasped.
“Hey! That’s a stage in paradox psycosis!” He exclaims.
“Shut up. I-It’s just hot in h-h-here.” Y/N defends, glaring at him. Just as he’s about to make a comeback, their older selves arrive and agree to the deal.
——————————————————————————
Five yells at everyone who passes by the 5 of them as Y/N pushes him ahead, apologizing.
“See? You both have paradox psychosis!” Luther whispers to them in panic.
As they talk, Y/N watches her old self and Five. They both looked really happy together, despite the current circumstances they were in right now. The girl was interrupted from her thoughts when Five starts yelling at Luther.
“So it’s me you should be listening to, Luther. I’M THE DADDY HERE!”
“What the h-h-hell, Five?” Y/N slaps him angrily, trying her best to ignore the stares from the other people.
“What? Last time I used that word you were fine with it.” He shoots her a suggestive smirk. Y/N punched him, ignoring the stinging red in her cheeks.
“Hey! We’re here!” Older Five yells to the 3 of them.

you know what that means? no? it means you're babie
you're the baby of the fam even tho yall were born at the exact same time
your power is water manipulation but does that matter?
nO
even though you can manipulate the water molecules in a human body and literally boil someone from the inside-
you're their sweet, innocent, tiny lil eightie
and nO ONE HARMS YOU HMPH
anyone who tries goes *motions finger across neck*
and it just so happens that one day someone was dumb enough to try
"Where's Tee?"
The moment that question left Five's mouth, silence rained upon the 6, now 7 (yes, Ben's alive), siblings. Diego looked up at Five who still remained stood at the entry of the kitchen, "what do you mean where is she?"
Five's jaw clenched as he looked at Diego with annoyance, "What I mean, you idiot, is where is she?" Before a fight can break out, Ben intruded, "We thought you were with her, Five."
“And what, to be exact, made you think that?” an eyebrow was rose, eyes looking unimpressed with the slightest bit of annoyance visible due to his eye twitching.
“Well you see, Fivey, I don’t know if you noticed but Eightie loves hanging out with you most especially when she doesn’t feel like walking sooo...”
“So you automatically assumed that she was with me this entire time?”
“Uh... yes?” Klaus now looked unsure of himself as he looked at Ben and Vanya for help. After all, they were closest to Five just a smidge after you. Ben stared at him for solid few seconds before sighing and turning back to face Five, “he has a point, Five.” To confirm his statement, Vanya nodded as well.
“Wait, hold up. Eightie’s missing?”
Cue groaning
Diego immediately turned to Luther and sneered, “no shit, dipshit.” Which then triggered Allison to defend Luther whilst Luther himself insulted Diego who then defended himself by insulting Luther and then the cycle began.
Rolling his eyes at the three ‘eldest’ siblings, Five turned around and walked towards the entrance of the house with Klaus, Ben, and Vanya following him.
“So, where do we start looking?” Five turned around and rose an eyebrow at Klaus and as he was about to reply with a retort, Klaus continues, “And yes, we will help find Eightie. She’s like this uhh glue that sticks us together, y’know?” Vanya smiled at the comparison, Five’s features softened slightly, and Ben looked impressed, “Wow, Klaus, I ne-”
“She clumps us together,” Klaus snickered, “clump clump.”
And there went the nice moment. Five resisted the urge to facepalm and instead opted to sigh and told them to look for you at all your favorite spots around the house before meeting him at Griddy’s whether they find you or not. With that said, Five spatial jumped to first the park then to Griddy’s Doughnut shop.
After about five minutes of frantic searching, and a few more minutes after that of waiting for the eldest siblings’ quarrel to end, the remaining Hargreeve’s siblings were now ready to meet Five at Griddy’s, where they’ll hopefully find you.
Upon arriving at the entrance of Griddy’s, they see Five just as he was about to enter the shop. Five nodded at them and together they entered.
And they immediately saw red.
Some germ was leaning towards you while you were leaning back with a clearly uncomfortable (“-are those tears?”, sneered a now sober Klaus) expression on your face. No one else was in the establishment, while the waitress was out back judging by the humming heard from there.
Bad, because who knows what would’ve happened had they not arrived earlier. But good, because they don’t have to hold back on this... thing. Well, they don’t have to hold back too much.
Not hearing anything due to the pounding of your heart, you didn’t hear the bell of the building chime as someone entered but upon seeing movement from your peripheral vision, you glanced at the entrance and was immediately flooded by relief.
The creep, noticing that your attention was no longer on him, followed to where your eyes are trained on.
Immediately he knew that he had made a horrible mistake.
Not only do seven people look like they want to strangle him, but one has knives, while the other one was huge, like muscly huge. The rest looked normal but still managed to look somehow scary.
The lanky one opened his arms and squirming out of the creep’s grip wasn’t hard considering the fact that seeing the siblings caused him to basically loose all feeling from his body. Well all except dread. Dread filled him up to his very core.
You immediately collided into Klaus’ embrace; arms around his waist and head buried onto his chest, your heartbreaking sobs echoed throughout the establishment.
“Klaus,”
Said man looked at The Rumor who was staring unnervingly at the creep ahead of her,
“Bring her home, will you?”
As much as The Séance wanted to protest, he felt the shivers that racked through his little sister’s body. He nodded and coaxed you to jump, and you did so, so that he can carry you home. Making eye contact with Vanya, who nodded, both siblings walked home with you in Klaus’ arms, knowing that that creep will never see the light of day again. That manic glint in both Five and Ben’s eyes alone were enough to send shivers down Klaus’ spine.
But not enough to make him pity the fool who scared you.
Upon leaving the kitchen, Agnes was shocked to see no one left, “huh... I could’ve sworn I heard voices not that long ago.” She wondered but then shrugged, “they must’ve had somewhere to be.”
Not that far from the building, if you tried really hard, you could hear the horrific yet muffled screams of someone, accompanied by smacking and slicing sounds, along with murmurs.
Yep, he definitely made a horrible mistake.
Probably his last one, too.

Diego walks through the corridors of the house. He sighs, taking courage, and knocks on the door. When it opens, his sister Vanya is at the other side.
“Hey, Diego,” She says with a smile.
"I need your help, it’s urgent," He answers nervously. She frowns and lets him walk into her room.
"What's up?" Diego sits on the bed and plays with his hands. "I've never seen you so nervous…”
"Nervous? Me? Please,” He scoffs.
"What? You’re in trouble?" Vanya stands in front of him and crosses her arms.
"Something like that," he finally says.
Vanya knows what her brother does at night. Using his skill with knives and the arduous training everyone had in their childhood, Diego takes it upon himself to aid helpless people.
"Do you need me to call the police?"
"No, not that kind of problem,” he says wiping his hands on his pants.
“Okay, I don't mean to sound rude, but you're not giving useful information. So maybe you better ask someone else for help?”
"No!" Vanya startles, pulling away a bit. "Shit, I'm sorry– I didn't want to scare you, just that- uh, I-" He growls. “You're the only one who can help me, Vanya.”
The relationship she has with her brothers is somewhat complicated. With Diego, she’s sure that she’s not Diego's first choice when he needs help, so this is confusing.
"What's going on?" She sits next to him on the bed.
"I'm not good at these things,” He answers through gritted teeth. "But I’m desperate, this’ll be my last try,” Vanya raises her eyebrows. “I have problems with... girls?"
Both of them are silent for a few seconds.
"Since when? How come only I can help you?"
"Oh come on, you're the only one with a stable relationship!”
She can't help a little smile.
"Sissy is not my girlfriend.”
"But you haven't ruined it yet, you're the one that has lasted the longest out of all.”
Maybe that's true.
"And Allison? She’s still with Raymond.”
Diego makes a face and scratches the back of his neck.
"She wouldn't help me for this.”
“Why?" Vanya now understands the big problem. “Oh… Are you sure you want to try?"
"You already regret wanting to help me?"
“No, it's just that- well… are we talking about Y/N? Allison's best friend?” She asks.
They met Y/N when they were twelve years old and since then she and Allison have been inseparable, actually, they all like her and over time she’s gained the trust of the Hargreeves.
"But doesn't she hate you?"
Diego nods, feeling hopeless. It’s true that for his last -perhaps only- opportunity, he needs Vanya's help and her attitude is not helping at all, or at least that’s what he thinks.
Vanya grins and Diego looks at her in disbelief.
"I'm not laughing at you, idiot,” She smiles. "I thought you’d already given up with her.”
"I guess I can still attempt something, but this is my last try,” He says.
From the moment Diego saw Y/N, he thought she was the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen in his life, but every time he tried to talk to her the girl would walk away or try to avoid him, so the only solution a 12-year-old could think of was to tease her; from pulling her hair, making fun, throwing knives at her -without hurting her- and as they grew older insults were added. In a way, Diego's plan worked, Y/N noticed him more, but it was only to yell at him. All this caused Diego's feelings for her to grow faster. He explained it to Vanya and she laughed again.
“So, all those bruises, yelling and insults were because you like her?” She says.
"Hey, I was just a kid!” He defends. "Now's different and I really want to do things right."
His sister is surprised, this is not a game, Diego’s asking her for help to conquer a girl and Vanya thinks it can work.
"I just want to add, I always believed you’d be a good couple.”
Diego's eyes light up.
“You'll help me?"
“That's right, brother. But you have to follow my lead…”
"I promise. Thank you, Sis! " he hugs Vanya very tightly making her squeal.
Later the doorbell rings, Allison's voice sounds soon after.
"Oh, that's right,” says Vanya with a smile, looking at her brother. “Y/N'll have dinner with us.”
Diego's breath hitches and his muscles tense.
"Oh.”
"First lesson, Diego."
***
After a few hours, they are whispering in the main hall, Diego’s about to panic as Vanya tries to reassure him.
"What am I supposed to do?"
"First, breathe,” she says. “It’s only dinner, relax. You can start with compliments, maybe of what she’s wearing, things like that.”
"Ok, ok, I can do that,” answers Diego.
“Well, let's go.”
Vanya takes his hand and they both enter the dining room, the other members are already waiting. Luther is the first, and on his left side are Allison, Y/N and then Ben, opposite to Luther is Klaus, then Five. Vanya tells Diego to sit across from Y/N and she sits at the end of the table.
Diego feels his legs shaking when he sees the girl for whom he’s trying his best not to scream. She’s laughing at something Allison said, the boy can't help but smile when he sees her happy. He sits down and waits patiently for dinner.
For a few minutes he only allows himself to admire her without saying anything, everything that Vanya said to him disappeared and he can't help but think how great it’d be the reason why she laughs, to take her hand under the table, whisper in her ear and kiss her cheek…
But his fantasies are interrupted by Vanya, who clears her throat to get their attention. While Luther helps his mother serve food, the others talk different things.
"It's good to see you again, Y/N,” says Vanya looking at the girl and she smiles at her.
“Same here, Vanya. How’s Sissy?"
"She’s fine, actually, we've thought about going to see a movie, any recommendations?"
Vanya could remember that Allison's best friend wanted to see a movie, and she had no one to go see it with, because none of her friends liked it, but she knew a certain man that would be willing to go without problems. The girl's eyes lit up, but then she grimaced.
"Oh yeah, they released a good one, but I'm not sure you’ll like it.”
"Are you still crying about it?" Says Five entering the conversation. Y/N looks at him offended.
"Shut up, I thought you’d be my salvation, but I only suffered from your betrayal!”
"That rhymed!" Klaus claps and Five rolls his eyes.
“None of your siblings want to go, but if you do, can I go with you? I don't mind being third wheeling…”
That's Diego's chance, but he doesn't say anything, so Vanya lightly kicks his leg.
"I could go with you!”
Everyone at the table looks at him in surprise and Vanya just wants to hit him again. Apparently yelling wasn’t part of Diego's plan. Y/N raises both eyebrows and huffs.
“Yes, right. I don't want you to be throwing popcorn at me during the whole movie, Diego. And surely you’d be talking all the time,” She rolls her eyes and Diego lowers his head. He knows the reason why she thinks that. It wouldn't be the first time that a movie went wrong because of their arguments.
Ben could notice how uncomfortable his brother is, so he decides to change the subject and now everyone forgets what happened. Vanya leans over to talk to Diego.
"What the hell was that?"
"I don't know, your help was useless!”
“You have to slow down, Diego. Baby steps, come on, give her a compliment!”
"Yes, okay,” He says nodding and they both turn to her.
Diego takes the time to think through his next move. Everyone has finished eating. When Diego leaves the dishes in the kitchen, he returns to the table and sees Y/N alone, perhaps waiting for her friend, so he approaches a little and notices her outfit.
He clears his throat to get her attention and smiles, hiding all the anxiety he feels.
"Hey, that blouse suits you very well, it matches your eyes,” While Diego expects a positive response, he receives the opposite.
"If that's your way to check out my breasts, let me tell you it's a pathetic attempt.”
Diego straightens up.
"No, no, no, no, n-o is not what I- uh, I didn't mean to," He stutters and behind him comes a laugh.
"My pathetic brother,” says Allison reaching her friend's side. Y/N huffs and they both leave the house.
Diego is startled when he feels a hand on his shoulder.
"Ok, that went wrong,” says Vanya. "Maybe you can offer to take her home?" She tries.
“She'll probably think I'm going to kidnap her," he says with a grimace.
***
The next day Diego and Vanya talk for hours about all the possibilities in which his comments can go. After last night, Diego can't take any risks.
"Hey, it's not my fault that your favorite hobby was teasing her."
"I know! I know I was an idiot, but I didn't think this was going to happen,” He says.
"Now we can only hope for a miracle."
Diego complains again and hides his face with a pillow.
"Vanya, have you seen my skirt?" Klaus says entering the room. "Trouble in paradise, Dieguito?"
Diego restrains himself from throwing a knife at his brother.
"No, Klaus, I haven't seen it, are you going out?"
"Oui, mademoiselle. Y/N and Allison invited me to a party- Oh! There it is…”
Klaus grabs the skirt from the floor and leaves the room and as soon as the door closes, Diego sits on the bed and takes off his pillow. Both siblings share a hopeful look.
***
“Now, tell me how the hell am I going to be able to talk to her if she's with an idiot,” says Diego speaking louder so that Vanya could hear him above the music.
"As soon as she’s alone, you must go at it,” she answers.
These days have been stressful for the boy, he cannot believe his bad luck and he’s not used to this. Normally he has no problems with girls, he’s dated and even had a serious relationship with Patch, why is it so difficult with Y/N?
Hours pass and it comes to the moment when Diego is left alone on the balcony of the host's house, cursing every happy couple that passes by, and snorting every time he sees Klaus with a different drink. But everything changes when he hears a voice complaining near the balcony.
The boy walks away from the railing and toward the doors, only to find Y/N yelling at the boy she was with earlier. Diego doesn’t know what is happening, but he can get an idea of how it will end, especially when he sees that the boy takes Y/N by the neck and forces her to kiss him. Anger runs through the boy's body and he's about to go and hit the jerk, but halfway he stops totally shocked.
Y/N steps away from the idiot and punches him hard on his nose, causing him to fall to the ground and scream covering his face with his hand. Everyone around him reaches out to help and see what happens. The girl takes advantage of the opportunity, runs out of the scene, straight to the balcony passing Diego without noticing him.
The boy follows her, he can see that she’s holding her wrist and complaining, so he runs around the house and gets a bag with ice as if they were chasing him, he returns just as fast.
“Hey,” He catches her attention and she looks up with teary eyes.
"Diego, please, not now," She says in a tired voice.
"I brought you ice, for your hand,” He says quickly.
She looks at him and nods raising her injured hand. Diego gently takes it and puts the ice on it. He tries to ignore the chill that runs through his body at feeling her soft hand.
"Does it hurt too much?" he asks trying to distract her.
"I've never hit someone before," She says with a grimace. Diego smiles sideways, he can't help but be proud.
"Maybe I could teach you one day, I'm an expert in punching and receiving every day…” He says without much thought and she laughs slightly.
"I've only seen you fight with your brothers, but something tells me that you are not lying," She adds with amusement.
"It was a great blow, surely he deserved it.”
"Some people don't know what ‘No’ means" She sighs.
"I think it’s clear to him now.”
"I didn't know you liked parties," She replies, looking at him.
"Today I had a good reason to like them,” He shrugs.
"A girl?" When he nods she laughs again. "I think it's the longest conversation we've had without insulting each other…”
Diego laughs too.
"In my defense, I've tried to have a civil conversation with you for a couple of days, but you weren't helping much,” She frowns.
"I know you well, Diego. You always try to make fun of me.”
His smile disappears.
“I don't want to do it anymore, Y/N,” His serious face confuses her.
"What are you talking about?"
Before Diego could answer, Allison reaches his side and checks on her friend, pushing her brother away. Y/N assures her that she's fine, mentioning Diego's help, but Allison doesn't care.
"I'm glad but– uh, we have a problem.”
"I'm not in the mood to have another one,” complains the girl.
“Ray’s car just broke and we have to go with some friend of his, I have to take Klaus before we lose him and Vanya and Sissy left already, so... there's no place for you,” says Allison with a grimace, “Sorry.”
Y/N complains taking the ice from Diego's hands.
"Are you serious?"
"I'm sorry, really, Ray said that he offered his place for you, but you know he lives far away…”
Y/N doesn't live very far, but she can't go alone in the dark and Diego knows that.
“I'll take you home,” He offers.
“Diego…” starts Allison, but he cuts her off.
“It's not a game, I promise. Come on, I can't let her walk alone, I can watch over her,” He puffs out his chest.
"Okay, but if something else happens, I won't hesitate in saying the magic words to you, brother,” threatens Allison. The boy stirs uncomfortably knowing very well what the magic words are.
Both friends say goodbye and Allison returns to the party. It doesn't take long for her, her boyfriend, and brother to leave.
"Do you want to go?" Diego asks shyly and she nods.
***
The two of them walk slowly towards Y/N's house in a slightly awkward silence. She keeps holding her wrist.
"What did you mean before?" she asks suddenly.
"What?"
"When we were on the balcony, you said you didn't want to make fun of me anymore.”
Diego fortunately remembers Vanya's advices: ‘Don't be too hasty’, ‘Tell her how you feel when you get the chance’, ‘Don't scare her’, ‘Be honest’, ‘No, you can't just kiss her and then run away’.
He shakes his head and keeps walking.
“Sorry for being an idiot all these years. You may not believe me, but I want to try to fix things with you.”
"How?"
"Good question,” He replies with a grimace. “I don't know, these days I've tried to be nice to you, but you think I'm still playing– I don't blame you!” He raises his hands. “You have many reasons, but– I just want to say that…” He sighs. “I don't want to continue with that.”
She frowns in confusion, but also wants to know more.
"Why do you suddenly want to do it?"
"It's not something spontaneous, I- uh…” He fidgets. "Since I've known you, I wanted to be your friend and I thought you were beautiful and all,” He says with honesty. "But you always did your best to ignore me, so I did all those things to get your attention.”
Confession takes weight off his shoulders. Y/N stays silent, thinking about Diego's words. Without realizing it, they both arrive at her house. The girl steps forward a bit, but Diego takes her free hand and draws her.
"Listen, I know it's a lot to think about and you might not believe me, but I really want to be with you."
She knows that he’s not lying, Diego had never dared to talk to her like that, but there’s still something that prevents her from trusting him.
"What are you really asking me, Diego?"
He thinks about it and smiles sideways.
“I’m asking for an opportunity. Just one, you won't regret it.”
Y/N laughs at his confident demeanor, then he gets a little closer, looks directly into her eyes and puts a lock behind her ear with gentl e fingers.
"When we were kids,” She says, taking a step back. "I used to walk away from you because I thought you were cute, I liked you, but when you wanted to talk… I’d get nervous and run away,” She admits. "Then you started teasing me so I thought you hated me and eventually I gave up,” She shrugs.
Diego can't believe what he's hearing and feels stupider. He could’ve had the girl of his dreams much sooner if only things weren't wrong. They’re both silent, she waits for an answer but Diego continues to panic. Finally she sighs again.
"One chance, Hargreeves.” She points out and Diego's eyes lit up.
"Only one,” He says avoiding the urge to jump for joy. She shakes her head, but smiling sweetly.
Y/N goes up the stairs of her house and before opening the door she turns back to find Diego doing a very strange dance. As soon as he notices her look, he stops and smiles innocently.
"Good night, angel," He says, smirking.
"Good night, Diego.”

let's save the world
season one, episode seven
five hargreeves x reader
summary: you, five, allison, and diego go to find out who harold jenkins is and to try and stop him, but that mission is cut short when you see that five is hurt
trigger warnings: cursing, some angst(?)
word count: 3k
a/n: this one’s a bit shorter, so i apologize for that, but there wasn’t as much action in this episode so i worked with what i had. i guess since it came out way quicker, that kind of makes up for it lol. anywho, enjoy!
Tumblr media
“who the hell is harold jenkins?”
you watch as he throws the coffee cup behind him, dropping the briefcase to your side. “we don’t know.” five tells them, letting out a heavy breath.
“yet.” you quickly add on, running your fingers through your hair with a heavy sigh. “we don’t know who he is, yet.” you hoped three days would be enough to find out. “we do know that he’s responsible for the apocalypse. so we have to find him. and we have to do it now.”
“how is he connected to what’s going to happen?” luther asks, looking between the two of you. all of them were confused, and understandably so. after disappearing yesterday, you suddenly come back and know what to do to stop the end of the world. you would be confused too.
“we don’t know.” five says simply with a shrug of his shoulders. it was frustrating, not knowing anything but the name of who you needed to stop. there could be many harold jenkinses, all in their own little areas of the city. you only had three days to find out which one you needed to stop, though, and you couldn’t waste any of that time.
diego steps past his siblings, and you notice the sling holding his arm. that was new. “wait, so you only know this guy’s name?” he questions, “that’s it?”
“it’s all we need.” five responds, to which you nod in agreement.
diego isn’t so ready to believe you and just go with it. “there are probably dozens of harold jenkinses in this city.” pursing your lips at the obvious statement, you stay quiet for a moment.
“well, i guess we better start looking.” you breathe out, not wanting to deal with this any longer. it’s not like you have unlimited time to figure this out. you only had around seventy-two hours, and you weren’t even sure if that was enough.
allison crosses her arms over her chest, “i’m sorry, am i the only one that’s skeptical here?” she asks, everyone turning to look at her. “i mean, how exactly do you know all of this about what’s his name?”
“harold jenkins.” five reminds her, clearly just as annoyed as you. “you know those lunatics in masks who attacked the house?”
klaus scratches the back of his head, his nose scrunched up slightly. “oh, yeah, i think i remember those guys.”
“yeah, the ones that attacked us because they were looking for you guys.” diego says accusingly, nodding his head slightly. “and you know what? i have more questions about that night. specifically for you.” he points at you and you roll your eyes.
sighing heavily, you decide it would be best to just tell them everything to get it out of the way and stop wasting time. “fine,” you begin, stepping forward slightly, “i’m one of you guys. i’m pyrokinetic. which means i can control fire.” you look between them, lips pressed together into a thin line. “any questions?” diego is about to speak again but you cut him off, “no? okay, good. let’s get back to what’s actually important, yeah?”
“yes, that would be nice.” five agrees, leaning against the back of the couch. “those guys were sent by the temps commission to stop us from coming back and preventing the apocalypse.”
“the temps what?” allison asks, voicing the confusion that all of them had etched on their faces.
shaking your head, you begin to pace. “our former employer. they monitor all of time and space to make sure that whatever is meant to happen,” you pause for a moment, freezing your movement as you look to them, “happens.”
five nods, “they believe the apocalypse is coming in three days. so,” you begin your pacing once again, walking slowly around the couch, “we went to the commission headquarters and intercepted a message that was meant for the lunatics you met.”
“that message,” you tell them, sitting on the couch and facing them, “was what we gave you. ‘protect harold jenkins.’ if the commission wants him protected, he must be what causes the end of the world.”
it’s silent as the siblings look to the two of you, processing everything they had been told. then, all of a sudden, they all speak at once, asking too many questions to comprehend. the only thing that you really heard was allison’s remark about how insane all of this is.
“you know what else is insane?” five finally reached his breaking point, and you sigh softly as you hold your head in your hands. “we look thirteen again.” he simply says, “klaus talks to the dead, and luther thinks he’s fooling everybody with that overcoat.” he points at the two of them, before looking at all of them with narrowed eyes. “everything about us is insane. always has been.”
klaus lifts his head from the arm of the chair he’s sitting in, “he’s got a point there.”
ignoring the remark, five continues. “we didn’t choose this life.” he shrugs, “we’re just living it. for the next three days, at least.”
“the last time we tried to stop it, we all died.” allison argues, gesturing to the other siblings. “why is this time any different? why shouldn’t i go home to my daughter?”
groaning silently to yourself, you stand back up, “what’s different this time,” you speak through gritted teeth, “is that you have us.” you gesture between yourself and five, “we know what we’re doing, and we have the name of the guy we have to stop.”
“we have the chance to save the lives of billions of people.” five tells them, looking to allison. “including claire.”
there’s a moment of silence once again, and allison furrows her eyebrows. “you know her name?”
“i do.” he responds, nodding slightly. “i’d like to live long enough to meet her.”
looking between luther and diego, allison slowly nods as well. “alright. let’s get this bastard.”
diego also seems to be convinced. “you had me at gerald jenkins.” you roll your eyes at his mistake.
“harold. harold jenkins.” you correct, raising an eyebrow at him.
he shakes his head, “whatever. i’ve already lost two people this week. i’m not losing anyone else.”
“yes!” you cheer, raising a fist in the air. “yes! finally, you’re understanding.” you grin, clasping your hands together. “what about you, big guy?” you look to luther expectantly.
“you guys go.” he tells you as diego comes to stand by your side. “i’m going to go through dad’s files. i still think this has something to do with why he sent me to the moon.” one step forward, two back, apparently. you weren’t expecting luther to get it, but it was still quite annoying.
diego raises an eyebrow at him, “really? you’re making the end of the world about you and dad now?” he questions, clearly annoyed.
“no- he told me to watch for threats.” luther defends himself, “that’s not a coincidence. it all has to be connected somehow.”
allison steps to his side, trying to convince him that they need to stick together. you clap your hands together, “we don’t have the time for this. let him stay.”
“let’s roll.” diego instructs, “i know where we can find this asshole. klaus, you’re with me.”
everyone looks over to klaus as he sits up, “yeah, i’m good.” he renounces, pushing himself up from the chair. “i think i’ll pass. feeling a little... under the weather.” he leaves the room, abandoning the little mission you had created.
sighing softly, you follow as diego and five walk out of the room, ready to get this all done with and be finished with the task of stopping the end of the world.
-
finding harold jenkins was a lot easier than you thought it would be. turns out, diego being a vigilante actually helped out, since he was able to get the file of the man. apparently, allison recognized him, and he had been flirting around with vanya, and she didn’t even know his real name.
getting out of the car, you sigh softly. his house was just a normal house, in the middle of a small, normal neighborhood. nothing you would expect for someone who was going to end the world.
“be careful. we don’t know what peabody’s capable of.” allison warns as you all walk up the path to the house, which seemed to be empty at the moment. lucky timing, apparently.
diego brushed off her warning, “he didn’t seem dangerous when i saw him.” he dismisses, “looked kind of scrawny.”
“so are most mass murderers and serial killers.” she shoots back, gesturing to five, “look at him.”
“thanks.” he mutters.
“good point.” diego concurs, leading up the steps to the porch. “what’s this guy want with vanya?” he questions.
“no clue. why don’t we ask him once he’s dead?” you respond, giving a sarcastic grin.
diego holds out a hand to stop the both of you, and you sigh softly. “alright, i’m gonna-” he cuts himself off when he sees that allison wasn’t there anymore, sighing and rolling his eyes in exasperation. “it would be nice for people to just stick to the-”
he once again stops talking when five grabs your hand and you both disappear with a flash. now inside the house, you glance around, jumping slightly when you hear glass shattering, followed by diego groaning in pain.
walking past him to the door, you turn the handle, grinning slightly when it easily opened. “it was unlocked.” you inform him, allison chuckling beside you.
“my way works just fine.” he mutters in response, getting up from the glass covered floor. picking some of the shards off of his clothes, “spread out. yell if you, uh... you know, you’re in trouble.”
after watching him walk off, you shake your head and split up from the other two with a small wave as you go down the hallway next to the stairs. surprisingly, it was normal. nothing that an ordinary person wouldn’t have in their home- some pictures hanging on the walls, a small bathroom.
while you were rooting around, allison called for you guys from where she was upstairs, apparently finding something of importance. all of you quickly make your way up, seeing the hatch to the attic open.
taking a deep breath, you watch as the boys go up the ladder before following them up, seeing that the attic was decorated in an interesting fashion. umbrella academy decorations- figurines of them when they were kids, heads burned off, posters with their faces scratched out. this was definitely not normal.
“this guy’s got some serious issues.” diego mumbles, examining everything.
biting your lip, you look around a bit. “i don’t think he was ever interested in vanya.” you voice your thoughts slowly, “he was trying to get to you guys. call it a hunch.”
suddenly, there’s a thump, and when you look to your side, five had fallen to the ground. your eyes widen as you quickly crouch beside him. “what’s wrong? what happened?” he’s breathing heavily, and his lack of a response worries you to no end.
allison pulls his shirt up slightly when she sees the blood staining it, and she sees the shrapnel in his abdomen. “why didn’t you say anything?” diego questions him, raising an eyebrow.
“you need to keep going.” five breathes out, closing his eyes and letting his head fall back against the floor. “we’re so close.”
you’re shocked you don’t stop breathing when he loses consciousness. “shit.” you barely hear the crack in your voice, because all you hear is a ringing in your ears. “get him- get him in the car! we need to get him back to the academy-” you jump to your feet, and your legs feel like jelly, but you can’t stop for anything.
it felt like a blur, helping allison and diego get five down the stairs and into the car, where he laid across the seat with his head resting in your lap. the whole time, your heart was pumping so hard and it felt like you weren’t breathing for a good while. five was falling in and out of consciousness, and you kept your fingers on his wrist to reassure yourself that his heart was still beating.
-
when you finally got back into the academy, you all carried him in as quick as possible, and you felt as if you had calmed down, even just a little bit. sure, your heart still pounded in your chest and you had to work to control your breathing, but at least you could think rationally.
“we should’ve taken him to the hospital.” allison breathes out as you all shuffle across the floor, trying not to drop five onto the hard wood floors.
“a kid with a shrapnel wound might raise some questions.” five mumbles, and you sigh softly, relieved to know that he wasn’t dead just yet.
you all manage to get over to the couch and lay him down very carefully, “yeah, well, so does the murder shrine in harold jenkins’ attic.” allison shoots back, beginning to pull off her jacket, “he’s still losing blood. what do we do?”
“we gotta get the shrapnel out.” diego commands, looking up from the boy for a moment, before he seems to get distracted by something, walking off into the hall and not responding when allison calls out to him.
letting out a short breath, you hesitantly move away from five’s side, following where diego went to see what had him so distracted from something so important. you see grace, and diego looks confused, but you feel as if your heart just went soaring. she’ll be able to help five.
-
you sat in the silent room, picking at your nails as you stare at the equations all over the walls, things you could never understand no matter how hard you tried.
after getting grace’s help to remove the shrapnel and take care of the wound, you had calmed down significantly. your heart was no longer beating so fast that you could hear it, and you had controlled your breathing.
now, you sat, just waiting. allison and diego left to chase after another lead for where harold could be, and grace had left the room once five’s wound was clean. it was only you and him. and delores.
looking at the mannequin, you scrunch your nose up, tapping your fingers against your forearm. her lifeless eyes stared into your own, and you couldn’t stand it.
“what the hell are you looking at?” you hiss, glaring at the fake woman. it felt like she was mocking you, even if she wasn’t even alive. “you shouldn’t even be here. it’s not like you’re helping at all.”
you cross one leg over the other, leaning back in the chair you had claimed as you stared at her with narrowed eyes. “you’re just sitting there. you didn’t give him your blood, and you haven’t been the one helping him figure out how to stop the apocalypse. that’s all been me, not you.”
the silence is nearly deafening as you continue to stare into her eyes.
but you were a part of what got him here. you were a part of the reason he had shrapnel in his abdomen, causing this injury.
you sneer, lacing your fingers together and resting your hands on your knee. “i only set off a grenade. i didn’t put the shrapnel in him myself.”
silence, again. you realize then that you had been talking to the lifeless woman, and you groan loudly. all those years of solitude, you had been able to keep your sanity. now, it just may be slipping away.
“you’re only a mannequin.” you mutter, biting at your nail as you start to tap your foot. “soon enough, he’ll see that. he’ll realize that there are actual people around him, and it’ll be bye-bye delores!” you throw your hands up in the air, before you freeze in place.
quickly putting your arms down, you groan once again. “i am not going to do this.” you stand from the chair, moving around the bed and grabbing the plastic form, before throwing her into the wardrobe and shutting the doors on her. you sigh softly, “much better.”

I wonder if he can taste the sadness (Ahsoka Tano & Anakin Skywalker & Rex)
Summary: Ahsoka motions for the younglings to stay behind what little cover she was able to provide as the door wheezes open. She pokes her head out just enough to see and— “Master!” she cries, leaping up. Anakin is at the door, his lightsaber in his hand but unlit. He looks mildly surprised to see her, but takes her hug without hesitation. “Thank the Force,” she breathes out. “We heard blasters and then Master Nu told us to hide. What’s happening?” In her embrace, Anakin is unmoved. She frowns, looking up at him. “Master?”
Warnings: major character death, lightsaber wounds, lots of children die but only one is shown, canon genocide, canon divergence but only to make it sadder Word Count: 1,826
Prompt: Angstpril Day 4 - Betrayal
Author’s Note: WOWWW why do I do this to myself lmfao. I was like ‘oh hey what if Ahsoka was in the Temple during Order 66 would that suck or what’ and then I. Wrote it. For some reason. I’m sick and twisted. Also, not to make you sadder or anything, but can you imagine Obi-Wan finding her body? Shit dude. Anyway, you might think Anakin wouldn’t go to the dark side if the whole Ahsoka thing hadn’t happened, but, like...he already murdered a village of Tuskens before the Clone Wars. I do not doubt that it would’ve happened somehow. I know this is super late but I wanna get all my Angstpril stuff written down no matter how late it is or else I’m gonna feel terrible about it. Title is from My Mother, My Mother by Luther Hughes. (Also, Jinnel, the Kiffar, and her future Master are my ocs. Zett is a canon character but he has barely any appearances so, uh, dibs.)

“Master Nu! I was just looking for you in the archives.”
Ahsoka bears a wide smile as the old Master of the archives turns to her. The young Padawan, though not so young now she thinks, bears a couple of datapads, old ones she’d borrowed before her last assignment.
“Ah, Padawan Tano. Apologies, but I’m a bit occupied at the moment.”
She gestures behind her, where a youngling Clan chatters excitedly. At the sight of Ahsoka, one Nautolan girl lights up and turns to her friend, whispering furiously.
Ahsoka smiles and waves a little, getting a few waves back. “Sorry, Master, I didn’t realise. I can come back later,” she offers.
“That’s quite alright.” Master Nu waves her off. “Just leave it on my desk, and I—”
She stops. Her gaze drifts to the far end of the hallway, but when Ahsoka follows it, she finds nothing there. She’s about to ask what’s wrong, but then she feels it, too: a roil of darkness and fear.
“What is that?” she whispers, unmoving.
The younglings finally notice, a long moment after their seniors, and begin speaking frantically.
“Is the Temple under attack?”
“What do we do, Master Nu?”
“What’s happening?”
“I have to go find my Master!”
With a raised hand, Master Nu silences them all. “Quiet.” Quickly glancing around, she spots a meditation room with an open door. “Quickly, into the meditation room. Padawan Tano, watch our backs.”
“Yes, Master.”
The younglings file into the room obediently, still whispering to one another. One girl, a young Kiffar, bursts into tears, so Ahsoka pulls her aside immediately.
“My Master left to go to the Senate Building,” the Initiate blubbers. “She doesn’t know we’re in danger! I have to find her!”
(She’s too young to have a Master, Ahsoka realises, and doesn’t have a Padawan braid. The Master must’ve found her on a Search and bonded with her.)
“See if you can contact her on your comm, but you need to stay here until we know what’s going on, okay?”
She shakes her head. “I can’t leave her!”
“I understand. My Master is out there somewhere, too,” Ahsoka tries to reassure. “But I can’t let you leave alone, either. As soon as it’s safe, we’ll go find her together.”
The Initiate wipes at her eyes and nods, following the rest of her clan into the meditation room. Ahsoka looks back to Master Nu, who is glancing down the hall with wide, horrified eyes. Something has pulled in the Force.
Someone skids to a stop around the corner.
It’s a young human boy, a Padawan that Ahsoka has seen trailing behind Master Drallig for the last few weeks. On his sleeve, a scorch mark has burned through the fabric to his skin: a blaster wound.
At the sight of Master Nu and Ahsoka, his face twists in relief and he runs toward them.
“Zett,” Master Nu breathes out, taking his arm as soon as he’s close. “What’s going on?”
Through panting breaths, he speaks the impossible. “The clones—the clones are killing us!” he cries. “They got Master Drallig and I can’t find the Council—”
“What?” Ahsoka questions fiercely. “What are you talking about?”
“I know you won’t believe me, but I really saw it! It’s the 501st, they have their armour and everything and they’re killing everybody—!”
Master Nu squeezes his uninjured shoulder. “Breathe, Padawan. I believe you.”
“What!?” Ahsoka turns on her. “They would never—!”
“It may be someone else in that armour, but you know he’s telling the truth, Ahsoka. You can feel it,” she says warningly. “Don’t let emotion cloud your instincts.”
She backs down, but her chest tightens. “Yes, Master,” she says quickly.
“How many of them are there?”
“All of them. Master Drallig—” Zett chokes on his name. “—he told me to go to the landing pad, to get out and find help.”
“I’ll go with you!”
Ahsoka jumps when the young Kiffar reappears, running up to Zett.
“I’m a good tracker,” she says quickly, “and I know where my Master’s going! We can find her!”
Zett looks to Master Nu at the same time she does, uncertainty in his bright eyes. The old archivist casts her gaze to the end of the hall, where the chaos is starting to get louder. With a deep breath, she kneels before the younglings, a hand on each of their shoulders.
“Do not stop, especially for anyone in clone armour. Don’t trust anyone you don’t recognise and whatever you do, do not return to the Temple until you are given the all-clear, do you understand?” When they both nod, she reaches for their hands and presses them together, letting Zett take the girl’s. Master Nu gives him a firm look. “Hold onto each other. Do not let go. This is not a game.”
“Yes, Master,” they say at the same time, equally shaky.
She stands. “Go.”
The pair run off, Zett tugging the Kiffar girl closer to him as they dash down the hall. Ahsoka watches them go, waiting until they’re around the corner to turn her attention back to Master Nu, who has apparently done the same. Before she can speak, the archivist puts a hand on her shoulder as well.
“Stay with the younglings. Lock the door behind you and defend them with your life,” she instructs.
The girl’s eyes widen. “What? You’re leaving?”
“If the Temple is being attacked, there are things I have to do,” is her grim reply. “No one can get their hands on the archives, Padawan, no one. I’ll come find you when I get the chance.”
If I get the chance. The thought is there, though unspoken.
Steeling herself, Ahsoka swallows roughly but nods. “Yes, Master.”
With a glance over the Padawan’s shoulder, Master Nu lowers her voice. “Above all, make sure they make it out.”
“May the Force be with you,” she says quietly, a hope more than a comfort.
Master Nu smiles, a little sad, a little proud. “It is always with us, Ahsoka. It is always with you. Be brave.”
Her words echo in the young Togruta’s mind even as she departs. When she finally pulls herself together, she rushes into the meditation room, counting heads and closing the door behind her. She enters a code to lock it down completely before turning back to her charges.
“I need you all to listen carefully and do exactly as I say, okay?”
There are scattered nods and ‘yes, Padawan Tano’s, so she gives out instructions.
They build barricades throughout the room, providing cover for themselves. Initiates with lightsabers pair up with those without and the latter group gets a few weapons from Ahsoka. Her clone troopers—the ones killing Jedi—gave her quite a few vibroblades and pocket blasters over the years and she’s kept them all. It’s more than a little useful right now, she thinks as she hands them to the younglings.
“Keep your heads down and trust in the Force,” Ahsoka orders, ducking behind a gathering of meditation chairs and tables with three Initiates. She places a hand on the shoulder of the youngest, a small Mirialan with teary eyes. “It’s going to be okay.”
Footsteps thunder from the hallway outside. The younglings fall silent in an instant, poised for battle.
Something catches in Ahsoka’s chest. They’re ready for this. They’re children and terrified but they’re ready for a fight. Is this what her Master used to feel when he looked at her, 14 standard and standing on the front lines? Like something was desperately wrong with this picture?
“The scanners indicate life forms in this room, sir.”
Ahsoka freezes.
It sounds like a clone, though she can't place who. Could Zett have been right? Are the clones—the 501st, of all battalions—turning against them? What in the Force would make them do that? Something here is horribly, horribly wrong.
There's some beeping on the other side of the wall and someone out there must have the codes, because the door starts to slide open.
Ahsoka motions for the younglings to stay behind what little cover she was able to provide as the door wheezes open. She pokes her head out just enough to see and—
“Master!” she cries, leaping up.
Anakin is at the door, his lightsaber in his hand but unlit. He looks mildly surprised to see her, but takes her hug without hesitation.
“Thank the Force,” she breathes out. “We heard blasters and then Master Nu told us to hide. What’s happening?”
In her embrace, Anakin is unmoved.
She frowns, looking up at him. “Master?”
Light washes over her, the stark blue of his lightsaber being lit. She glances down to get a look at where he’s pointing it, what he could possibly be defending her from in a room of younglings. But then pain strikes her abdomen, squeezing her lungs. A choked gasp drags itself from her lips and she finally sees it.
The saber in her chest. Anakin’s saber in her chest.
A youngling screams and blaster fire echoes throughout the room, but Ahsoka can’t see what happens. She can’t even cry out for the Initiates she was meant to protect. All she can do is look back up at him.
His expression is blank, untouched by her apparent agony. He stares down at her with those yellow eyes—
Yellow eyes?
Her mouth falls open a little, her legs wobbling. She loses her balance, falling into him. And he catches her. There isn’t any sort of purpose to the movement, but he catches her.
He has yellow eyes.
Ahsoka thinks of Dooku, of his last moments spent glaring at her and her Master, those burning yellow eyes. She thinks of his red lightsaber fitting perfectly into Anakin’s hand and how nauseous she’d become at the sight.
“Anakin?”
It’s weak, hardly there. She doesn’t even know if he hears it.
And then she’s falling, falling to the floor. He drops her, lets her crumble underneath him, unable to hold herself up.
He walks away.
Breathing raggedly, Ahsoka wants to reach out, wants to grab the bottom of his robe before he can leave her. But her hands won’t cooperate, her entire body screaming at the scorched wound she bears.
The meditation room has fallen silent, leaving the troopers to follow after Anakin. They start to leave, but one notices she’s still breathing, still trying to move.
He lifts his blaster and she finally sees him.
“Rex,” she breathes out.
The jaig eyes on his helmet, carefully painted, give him away instantly. He lifts his pistols and she wants to cry. She doesn’t have the strength for even that. But she doesn’t need any strength to see that his hands are shaking. Ahsoka will never know what’s going on in his head, what’s driving him to lift his blasters in her direction. All she knows is that his hands are shaking.
“It’s okay, Rex,” she says, sounding far from it. “It’s okay.”
He fires.

Game Night- Five’s Day
Fandom: The Umbrella Academy
Characters: The Hargreeves Sibs
A/N: I think this is actually my favorite fic I’ve written for this week. I couldn’t wait to post it :)
Movie night wasn’t the only “mandatory fun” the household had started keeping up with. Game night probably never would have happened in a million years if Vanya hadn’t suggested it and everyone wanted to let her have this one thing. Not that it had gone well, naturally. The initial concern would be that no one would care enough to show up, but the opposite ended up being true. No, everyone cared entirely too much when it came to game night. She had forgotten that everyone in the house was competitive as all hell, and so far there had been three game nights in a row that ended in someone flipping the board in frustration. It took serious begging to give it all one more try, and reluctantly, everyone agreed, if not out of the potential entertainment that would come from giving Klaus a Taboo buzzer.
Vanya had also thought things over, learning from the past nights. This had to be different. Everyone gave her looks of startled bewilderment when she came into the house that day, Klaus in tow, with a traffic cone, a 2x4, spray glitter, and a bulk bag of googly eyes.
“We’re making the game this time and it’s gonna be better than anything else you suggest, so don’t even start.” Klaus announced.
It somehow ended up being so much worse. There were seven pages of hand-written rules and a haphazardly painted board studded with google eyes and plastic dinosaurs. They had all been trying to play for a solid half hour and not even Vanya could remember what the objective had been. Putting the finishing touches on the game had taken up a good part of the night, so midnight was slowly approaching when things started to get real.
“So clearly, the spacemen need to roll to enter the chaos volcano and trade for the ice crystal if you’re going restore the dinosaur kingdom.” Diego moved the plastic army man they had been using as pawns, approaching a cardboard volcano at the center of the board.
“We don’t have enough HP to enter the volcano realm, yet. Everyone still needs to collect the spells.”  Luther said, flipping back through the rules again for what seemed the thousandth time. None of it made sense. Vanya sank down in her seat ever so slightly. The goal was to make a game where everyone used their competitive-ass natures to work together for once, and she couldn’t even do that right. Five kept looking at her out of the corner of his eye, silently begging for her to allow him to leave. If this didn’t turn around in fifteen minutes, she was throwing in the towel.
“How can we be spacemen and also wizards?” Allison asked, looking over Luther’s shoulder to see the rules for herself, trying to find the bizarre cast of characters they had to pick from when starting the game. Spacemen, necromancers, aliens, ghosts, something called Bananamen…was there even a mention of wizards here? Five, on the other hand, had not looked at the rules since beginning out of silent protest for being part of game night once again. He stared into space or at the bottom of his empty mug, waiting for everyone to give up so he could just go to bed.
Klaus had long stopped trying to explain the rules that he and Vanya had come up with and instead became distracted with how many of the little plastic eyes he could pick off the board and stick to his face.
“Well, my character is a dinosaur and also a necromancer, so anything is possible.” Vanya added, trying to stay positive.
“See, so she can resurrect us in the volcano realm.” Diego said.
“She can only be allowed three healing spells. Did you pay any attention to the lizard king?”  Allison asked.
“If Diego had used the action cards to fill out the sidequest-“ Vanya tried to balance between letting the others figure things out and outright telling them what to do out of growing frustration, and it wasn’t going well.
“Who has time for the sidequests?”
Five buried his face in his hands, slowly slumping down in his chair. No one could tell him he wasn’t being a good sport for just showing up.
“You’re just going to sit there as a level-two hermit and tell me, to my face, that I’m wrong?” Oh great. Diego was on his feet now, staring Luther down across the table. It was only a matter of time before the giant sheet of plywood they had used as a board was going to go flying.
“I will look you dead in your face and say you have zero idea how the sidequest with the elf queen was supposed to get us to the volcano realm.” And now Luther was also standing, nearly hitting his head on the chandelier that hung over the table. A shadow fell over the board
“Hey, guys. Look. I’m an angel now.” Klaus interjected, drawing attention to his eye-covered face, “I’m using my holy damage by punching the volcano in the face until we get the ice crystal.” The two feuding brothers ignored him, still refusing to take a seat until the problem was solved.
“You shut your damn velociraptor mouth.” Diego growled.
From behind his hands, Five squeaked. Vanya looked closer and realized his shoulders were shaking. He wasn’t just playing up his exasperation for dramatic effect; he was giggling. The others turned as well, equally surprised.
“I’m sorry, what was that?” Allison asked, “We hadn’t heard much at all from our level 3 firebreather.” Five shook his head, still covering his face. He was doing a progressively worse job at keeping himself quiet, and his laughter was beginning to break through, high-pitched and sweet.
“He would always get like this when he stayed up too late.” Luther said, “Don’t you guys remember?” The memories slowly started to come back of them sneaking into each other’s rooms after lights-out to actually be kids for once. Five was always the first to succumb to the midnight giggles, curling up and hiding his face in a pillow to muffle the sound so he wouldn’t get them caught. It would spread like wildfire, and they would all end up giving into that magical hour of the night where everything became funny, cracking jokes and teasing each other and finally not taking anything too seriously. Either Five had never outgrown it, or it was just another perk of new form.
“He’s overtired. I guess he’s just loopy.” Allison said, grinning as she heard a muffled snort come from the giggling pile of sleep-deprived goo that was her brother. He put his head down on the table and buried his head in his arms, well-past being able to stop at this point.
“Instead of turning into a pumpkin at midnight he just turns into a gigglebox.” Klaus leaned over and squeezed his knee, “Come on, let me see your smiling face!” Five squealed, nearly falling out of his chair trying to squirm away. He still refused to lift his head and show that he was actually capable of laughing.
“We need your firebreather wisdom, be a team player!” Diego added, coming over from behind and digging his hands into his ribcage.
A solid thud came from under the table, knocking over several pieces on the board from the force. Everyone sitting nearby said a silent word of thanks that Five ended up kicking the underside of the table and not anyone’s shins. Five kicked like a mule when he was tickled, especially in the scream-laughing stage Diego had him in as he wiggled his fingers in-between each bone.
“Oh, and now he’s taking down the bananamen army.” Luther said, throwing up his hands in mock-anger.
Five finally lifted his head, swatting his brothers away. His unrestrained cackling bounced off the walls, almost startling in its volume and intensity.
“E-Enough!” He squeaked out, sniffling. His face was bright red and streaked with tears. The brothers slowed down, but still didn’t stop completely, sneaking in pokes and squeezes to keep him giggling.
“His dimples hadn’t changed at all.” Klaus said, pinching his cheek and giving him one last tickle behind his knee. Five swatted him with one hand and muffled his laughter with the other, shoulders shaking. He couldn’t look Klaus in the face with those stupid googly eyes and Diego’s ‘ ”shut your velociraptor mouth” comment kept playing over and over in his head. The teasing and the tickling did nothing to help his attempts at pulling himself together. He pounded his fist on the table, the hand over his mouth doing little to suppress his giggle fit.
“Is it past someone’s bedtime?” Allison asked, doing everything in her power to be condescending.
“I h-HA-hate you!” He managed out at last. Everyone waited for him to blink away in a burst of angry eyebrows and swearing, but he stayed. He actually stayed. Vanya then considered every part of game night a success. No one had seen or heard Five laugh, really laugh, in forever. She had almost forgotten what it sounded like. Five himself probably forgot what it felt like, still shaking with leftover giggles from the tickle attack. He finally caught his breath, trying to scowl but failing.
“I hate you.” He repeated, wiping his eyes.
“You hate how much I’m kicking this volcano’s ass.” Klaus said, “You wish you were a level 420 angel spaceman like me.”
“Now you’re just making things up!” Vanya said. The game was hopelessly out her hands at this point, but she was strangely at peace with it.
“We made up the entire game! If anything, I’m just creating the expansion pack as we speak.” Klaus defended, grabbing the rules out of Vanya’s hands and scribbling a new page of ideas.
The game went on well into the night, with each twist and turn becoming more and more bizarre. Five’s uncommonly giddy mood was infectious, and everyone had to stick around to enjoy it while it lasted, even grabbing at his knees when he tried to shift back into his typically grouchy state. The ice crystal was never acquired, but Five ended up with the hiccups from laughing so much and so hard, so everyone thought the evening was worth it. As the game wrapped up, everyone left the room feeling somewhat lighter, relieved almost. They were going to have to start later more often.
