#I want a sabine and Hera reunion
podsn · 9 months
Text
Sabine had little regrets about leaving until she saw Hera. When she made the decision to leave she made it with the thought that she had no one left but as soon as she seen Hera’s ship and saw that even though Hera was told to stay she still took a squadron to go help them. Sabine almost looks as though she instantly regretted her decision especially since she knew that squadron was right in the way of this super powerful hyperspace ring. Even worse is Sabine doesn’t even realize Hera survived the ring. There’s a good chance Sabine thinks Hera and possibly even Jacen are dead rn.

The final episode of Ahsoka not including Ezra meeting Jacen and a Rebels family reunion is my villain origin story.

Been listening to the Hamilton soundtrack again, and I can’t get over how perfect the tone of “That Would Be Enough” is for Sabine comforting Ezra after he finds out how long he’s been gone and how much he’s missed:
Look around, look around
At how lucky we are to be alive right now
Look around, look around
[…]
Look at where you are
Look at where you started
The fact that you're alive is a miracle
Just stay alive, that would be enough
[…]
Let this moment be the first chapter
Where you decide to stay
And I could be enough
And we could be enough
That would be enough

hera and ezra reunion
i want to see hera catch sight of ezra at the same time he sees her. i want them to approach each other, i want them to be emotional but quietly---different from the loudness of sabine and ezra’s reunion---and i want hera to hug him like he might disappear in her arms. and then i want them both to break with a sob that could be a laugh while hera cradles the back of his head and marvels at how different he is. i want ezra to look up from the hug and for sabine to give him a brilliant, watery smile from where she’s watching, and then i want the girls to introduce jacen syndulla to him.

I know we talk about how much Kanan’s death deeply affected Hera (and rightfully so) but I hardly see anyone talk about how Ezra’s disappearance affected her.
I’m re-watching the show and it just hit how much she loves Ezra. Especially in season three where she is constantly worrying about his well-being to the point that she doesn’t want to do missions and just wants to be with him to make sure he’s alright. We make jokes about how Kanan and Hera are like parents to Ezra (and Sabine) but it never really hit how true that was within the show until this rewatch.
And for her to lose him right after she last Kanan - fucking devastating. Add the whiplash from all the loses to then go through a pregnancy during the middle of a war as a general??? Honestly Hera is one the most strongest Star Wars characters.
The reunion between Ezra and Hera better fucking crush me.

When "at least they ended the season in the same galaxy" is cause for celebration.
My precious baby girl who never did anything wrong showed up for like five seconds and the only thing she did was make yet another bad decision, bless her. You stupid gremlin, what are we gonna do with you? Love her.
I'm actually hoping they recast Baylan, I don't want his character written out :(
The vibe I'm getting is that Ahsoka and Sabine are being written out of the Heir to the Empire / Mandalore story arcs of the Filoniverse. They're off to new adventures in the new galaxy in future seasons, while Hera and Ezra will feature in those stories.
I'm okay with this for Ahsoka, but it doesn't sit well with me that Sabine might be missing the whole Mandalore thing. She should be a Mandalorian first, a padawan second. I don't like this direction for the character tbh.
Ezra getting into the destroyer and immediately getting into shenanigans was so perfect. Our boy! He's back!
Once again, his reunion felt less emotional than it should have been. I wanted to see him and Hera run towards each other, hug like they're never letting go again! I get what they were going for, but I wish they'd done it differently.

Hologram Speculation.
Sabezra shippers, I’m sure some of you have watched the hologram scene many times and tried to figure out what Ezra was really trying to say about his feelings for Sabine.
We now know that the holographic message that Sabine views in Ahsoka Episode 1 isn’t the same one we saw at the end of Rebels. There’s a side-by-side comparison here:
https://x.com/laahsokathinker/status/1679252658262253568?s=46&t=g4A1CdAhTjWcXF4es_UdbQ
I think that the separate holographic message just for Sabine might have been part of Filoni’s plan all along. Sabine may have listened to this separate message from Ezra before she listened to the message he left for the entire Ghost crew, (the message from the Rebels finale “Family Reunion and Farewell”).
Tumblr media
If Sabine first heard the words “but I’m counting on you to see this through” (Eman Esfandi’s line), then that would explain something from the Rebels finale that I had wondered about for a long time.
When listening to Ezra’s message to the entire Ghost crew, Sabine heard Ezra say “don’t forget,” and then she recites along with him, “I’m counting on you” (a line spoken by Taylor Gray and Tiya Sircar in unison). Sabine knew what Ezra was going to say before he said it because she had already heard him say those same words in his personal message to her.
Tumblr media
That particular line and what it could mean was already on Sabine’s mind during Rebels finale scene in which Sabine, Hera, and Zeb are listening to Ezra’s farewell message to the crew.
Also, we know Ezra left his lightsaber with Chopper to give to Sabine. This means Chopper probably helped Ezra to record both holo messages. There’s a lot Ezra probably didn’t want to confess in a recording, especially one made in front of a cantankerous and mischievous little droid. Some very intimate feelings are best revealed in person and in private.
I think Ezra will have a lot more to say when he and Sabine are reunited.

ahsoka (read: rebels season 5) wishlist for the rest of the season — aka things that i’m not sure will happen but would absolutely make me ascend into the sun :
please let ezra and sabine reunite and hug. i will be in shambles if their reunion either doesn’t happen, happens offscreen, or is glossed over. dave i am begging youuuu please don’t do us dirty
i want to see ezra and sabine fighting alongside each other, perhaps handing the lightsaber back and forth during battle. come on how cool would that be??? (“a mandalorian and a jedi? they’ll never see it coming.”)
maybe afterwards, there’s a moment where sabine tries to give ezra his lightsaber back, and he just smiles and lets her know that it’s hers now — at this point it’s served her longer than it served him, anyway.
(i don’t know if ezra will get a new lightsaber but i want him to get a purple one tbh…. the vibes would be immaculate)
i don’t think ezra necessarily needs to be knighted — the order doesn’t exist anymore anyway — but it would be a lovely symbolic moment. (omg what if kanan knights him in a vision…..)
and when all is said and done ezra needs to RETURN HOME TO LOTHAL
also ezra needs to HUG HERA and MEET JACEN AND REALIZE HE’S KANAN’S SON
(what if ezra trains jacen just like kanan trained him… it’s like poetry, it rhymes….)
my ideal final shot of ezra is him at his communications tower, a parallel of that rebels scene where he’s standing at the railing overlooking the grassy plains and capital city skyline. this time, he’s at peace — he’s taking everything in, drinking in the fact that he’s finally home and it’s beautiful. sabine joins him a couple of moments later. they exchange soft smiles. we pan out, and the last thing we see is their silhouettes admiring the view. fade to black. FIN.

I love that Ahsoka just doesn't like staying indoors on her own ship:
Tumblr media
And I love how Sabine took down two tie fighters in a very Mandalorian way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then Sabine's unapologetic but very angry march back up and tells Ahsoka she got 'em.
Ezra points out that the ship being down puts a dent into their plans, and Ahsoka says: "Not with that attitude!"
AND THEY TAKE THE HOWLERS. In a way, that's very similar to Rex and Ahsoka being on Wolves too
Filoni finally got his image of Ahsoka on a wolf-like horse:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love the long-awaited rematch with Morgan (Diana Lee Innosato), Innosato is really good martial artist, and to see her finally get to move the way she can it was great to watch her fight!
Tumblr media
Also, she's half-Filipina! And I think it uses Kali in this fight!
Tumblr media
But also love that Morgan was doing this for Dathomir because her people will once again live. Dathomir will once more thrive.
For some reason, Morgan doesn't blame the Empire for the genocide, possibly because it was Dooku and Separatists.
I've heard it said that when Sabine heard Ahsoka and reached back to her in the last episode, it was Sabine's Awakening.
It was also fitting. The more Sabine was in a fight, the better she was with both the lightsaber and the Jedi instincts. It was a very Mandalorian way into it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's like Nynaeve from Wheel of Time. She needed specific conditions to access the Force. There's no better way for a Mandalorian to do so than in the middle of battle.
And once Sabine knows she can do it, doing so again wasn't difficult.
She's been doing it in steps -- sensing someone, the way she's been dodging lightsabers and blasters and referring it back. And the final act, Force telekinesis.
Force pushing Ezra was now easy because she'd gotten over her block. Or at least, she knows now how to get around the block.
But also, Sabine fulfilled her mission. She got Ezra home. Of course, she would prefer to be on that journey home but getting him back to the main universe and Lothal, is what Sabine wanted.
Ahsoka and Sabine jumping off the cliff to be lifted back and parrying the blaster shots from the wing of T6 was chef's kiss. What I wanted from live action.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then, of course, there's the Ezra and Hera reunion, with Chopper recognizing him first.
I got so emotional with that, but I WANTED A HUG DAMMIT. THAT'S HER SON TOO!
Unfortunately, for Ashoka and Sabine, despite their best efforts, Thrawn is too far ahead, and they're stranded in the new Galaxy.
BUT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MORAI IS THERE. So, Ahsoka's meant to be in this Galaxy, on Peridea.
Tumblr media
Because apparently there is the statue of the Mortis gods! The Father, the Son, and the Daughter, whose head has been destroyed.
And in season 2, we will discover what this is all about.
Tumblr media
I think Sabine saw Force Ghosts here, whose Force Ghost could be Kanan's, but also we know, Anakin is there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FORCE GHOST ANAKIN. And I love that they're smiling at each other.
BRING ON SEASON 2!
But also, MOTHER AND SON MEET AGAIN

Ahsoka finale thoughts
Holy shit
Morgan's upgrade was pretty cool ngl
Kanan convo! Giving him the respect he deserves.
Loving Ezra's new lightsaber! I always preferred his blue look, since it keeps in theme with him being a blueberry c:
Not sure how I feel about Sabine using the Force like this. Sensing stuff, I'm fine with, but suddenly she's 100% able to use telekinesis?
Morgan's rematch with Ahsoka is leagues better than their first fight back in Mando
Ahsoka is canonically a ronin :)
Ahsoka is canonically stranded in another galaxy :(
Welp. It happened. People were left behind.
What was that ending with Shin? Is she taking over the raiders? Is she seeking out fights because she's alone?
HOLY SHIT MORTIS GODS
And here I laughed at Mortis related Ahsoka theories. Shows how little I know. Maybe those Abeloth theorizers were onto something...
I love how this shot has absolutely zero significance to casual fans but is utterly game-changing for those who watched the shows
Am I tripping or is the Daughter missing from the statues?
It's a shame that Baylan's arc ended on not only a cliffhanger. Though the writers couldn't have anticipated real life tragedies.
EZRA AND HERA REUNION!!!
NO HUG???????
ANAKIN!! In full Jedi robes like ROTJ!!!
Ahsoka's smile at the end. She knows he's watching over her <3
WHERE THE SUN SAILS AND MOON WALKS MY BELOVED/BELOATHED. SUCH A GOOD SONG BUT HOLY FUCK THE ASSOCIATIONS
Between Morai and Anakin, Ahsoka's got one heck of a guardian posse. And she seemed awfully confident that she and Sabine have some sort of purpose here. I wonder what's in store for her, because I have a feeling that she won't stay stranded forever (even if it explains her absence in the sequels)
I'm not sure if this cliffhanger is meant for Dave Filoni's movie or a potential season 2, but I want more and I know I'm not getting more anytime soon and it's making me sad :(
I can't deal with these feelings oml

Sabine realize Ezra is the One.
I watch all 4 seasons of rebels consistently and I seen Sabine was being a jerk in the last 2 seasons early on…but in missions she been hiding her face expressions. Also being worried about Ezra in big situations, but then after all that in season 4 in the last final episode called “a family reunion and farewell”, that was the moment that Sabine told for Ezra to get out of the star destroyer, while Ezra sacrifice himself. That was the first time Sabine begged for Ezra. Fast forward 10 years later she still has feelings for Ezra and she never get over the fact she live the mistakes that she made. Quite frankly she realize she should’ve known better..
Ezra Bridger did everything for Sabine..
Ezra Bridger saves Sabine 7 times on missions rescuing Sabine’s father at mandalore.
Ezra gives a gift for Sabine with tie fighter, to spray painted.
Ezra deserves all the credit for everything he has done before he went to hyperspace.
Through 10 years Sabine Wren had a ton of regrets about the fact she never had a chance to tell the real truth for Ezra Bridger with her true feelings. the same thing that Hera Syndulla never had a chance to tell the late Kanan Jarrus the fact that she’s pregnant.
Sabine really needs to look in the mirror and realize that Ezra Bridger is the ONLY REAL ONE.
How bad Sabine wanted to get Ezra back to her heart..
if Sabine want Ezra back?, GO GET HIM BACK!!!

Hera = mom
well, ao3's broken for me, so here I am posting my Rebels shit 'cause of the latest Ahsoka episode.
WE GOT OUR BOY (i was going to have here that one GIF from goblet of fire but couldn't find it. well.)
here's those ideal circumstances we will never have in series but always have in our heads. enjoy reunion of Hera and her eldest son.
He could feel his anticipation like it was coursing through his veins instead of blood. It burned inside of him, as if it was a small sun, fit into his chest and his very eyes shined brighter with this glow of unpatiened happiness.
It was selfish of him, of course. He felt so much, that every jedi of old would call him a failure.
Well, Kanan would be proud.
Ezra was standing in the cockpit of Ahsoka's ship, glued into place, as he watched familiar views move beside them. Even stars, so different there, looked like they glimmered welcoming him home. Ezra could feel tears forming somewhere in his eyes, air stuck in his throat.
This pure, overwhelming happiness, in which he was caught up for a short moment, Ezra knew was soon to fade. But Sabine's eyes, watching him closely, her smile, told him it was alright to be a happy dumbass for a moment. Even, maybe, for a while. She was there to support him, as she always did.
Ahsoka was speaking, giving the codes and securing their landing, but Ezra could not find himself composed enough to listen. It was like he was a kid again - not that man he grew up to be in Rebellion, and all those lonely years on the witches' planet, but a small child on Lothal, who was just given the best gift any child could wish for.
"Ahsoka? Are you there?"
Ezra's eyes darted to the communication device and his breath would be caught if only he had been breathing for the last minute.
"Greetings, General Syndulla," smiled Ahsoka, squinting on her companions. "I think it is for the best if you meet us in the angars."
"Ezra", Ezra started, hearing Sabine's quiet whisper. "Breathe."
Ezra nodded, a bit frantically, and took a deep breath. Sabine took one with him, very obvious so he could see it. Ezra huffed a little laugh and Ahsoka smiled, looking at them.
"I brought your kids."
***
Ezra was feeling like he was about to burst. Sabine was hovering around him, never too far, like she was afraid to let him go of her eyesight, but would never admit it. He could understand that - he was doing the same, up until this one moment, where everything around demanded his attention, otherwise it would be gone. Ezra was being torn apart by the very world around him, he wanted to go and hug every one person who looked vaguely familiar, he wanted to go and touch every ship that had any resemblance to the coridors he saw in his dreams for the last decade. It was all so unreal, and he needed to see, to feel every thing, to prove himself that it wasn't his optimistic hope that was keeping him alive for all those years.
Ezra took another breath, when Sabine moved closer, lightly brushing his hand with her fingers to catch his attention. He looked at her, still overwhelmed. Sabine watched his eyes closely and smiled again.
"Ready?"
Ezra smiled.
"Always has been."
Ahsoka walked out first, Sabine after her, but Ezra hesitated a bit. He needed to make this step - one step and it all is real. Not one of his dreams, composed of Force and imagination, but firm and steady reality.
"Here we go..." he whispered under his breath, taking a step towards Sabine, who was waiting for him on the ramp.
"Need a hand?" she smiled, watching him walk, and Ezra huffed a laugh back.
"Nah, pretty sure my legs're fine." His voice was a bit off, however. Because there, a handful meters away, stood another ship. Big and old, somewhere renewed, somewhere still chipping paint like it was on repair after a bit too harsh flight. VCX-100 light freighter it was - modified, of course, painted differently, and Ezra knew for a fact that if it needed to go anywhere undetected it would.
"Ghost," he breathed out, moving towards it, enchanted. Sabine followed him, still smiling.
"It had a few new modification since you were gone," she said quietly, watching as his fingers brush against painted metal. Ezra stood there, embracing the feeling of cold surface causing light vibration of memory in his very being.
"I feel like it hasn't changed a bit," he muttered in awe, turning to Sabine. She laughed quietly, letting him have this moment.
"Oh trust me, it has." she smiled. "You can ask-"
"SABINE!"
They both turned their heads sharply on the sound of the voice, and Sabine cringed a bit, like a kid who was caught by their parent.
"Hey, Hera..." she waved, walking into the light from the Ghost's shadow in which they stood.
Ezra once again forgot how to breathe. It was becoming a bad habit he had to deal with later, but at that moment he stood under the familiar hull of Ghost, and it felt like ship was welcoming him too, covering him, like a big animal. And Ezra stood there, watching with his widely opened eyes, as familiar figure, half-relieved, half-furious, was fastly walking towards Sabine.
"You are in such big trouble, young lady!" Hera's voice echoed in his ears, bringing back so many memories they threatened to drown him. However, Hera brought Sabine close, hugging her hard before continuing her rant. Sabine used this chance to look back at Ezra and call him over with a nod.
Ezra felt like Ghost let him walk from under it, as if it had a wing under which it hid this boy, who once lived there. Moving to light felt like he was crossing some invisible line, that was keeping him alone for last ten years, and he finally wasn't.
He didn't know what to say, when Hera turned around and saw him, freezing in place with her mouth agape. So he just smiled at her.
She was eyeing him, head to toe, before finally moving closer and putting her hands on his shoulders first, then his cheek. He leaned into the sensation, as a kid who came home after cold winter walk.
"Ezra..." Hera breathed out. "It's you, it's... It's really you..."
She touched his hair, his scar, his clothes, and he could only smile.
"Hi, Hera."
In his mind this word had no other meaning - it was that person, who cared about him, who would protect him from anything, who loved him even when he was the most annoying rascal you could find on the Outer Rim. It was "Hera". It was so close to "mother".
Her lips and lashes were quivering, her fingers grip his shoulders. She looked up at him - was he taller than her? he forgot. - and let out a watery laugh.
"You smell horrible."
"I know," he laughed back, shrugging. "Ten years of surviving in different galaxy do that to people."
She shook her head lightly before pulling him in a tight hug.
"I'm sorry, Ezra, I'm so sorry..." she muttered, petting his hair. He only shook his head in turn, before answering.
"It's okay. It wasn't you, who made me go there," he let out a quiet laugh. "I'm so happy so see you. I missed you so much."
She pulled back a bit, blinking her tears away and looked at him once more.
"You grew up so much," Hera whispered and her voice sounded strangled. "We all missed you, Ezra, you don't even know. And I'm so proud of you, my boy, I'm so happy to have you back."
He laughed again, like it was all he could do - relief was shining in him, making him want to laugh like it was the end of the world. And then he would inevitably cry. So when he felt tears escape his eyes, he was not surprised. Before he could wipe them away, Hera raised her palm, put it on his scarred cheek and wiped them with her thumb.
"Welcome home, Ezra..."
He smiled again, before letting Hera pull him into another hug.

One thing I've seen a couple times about Ezra in the Ahsoka series is that the reunions were underwhelming. People really wanted to see crying and desperate hugging, and I get that.
But I absolutely loved that we didn't get it. Because I do think that's what the characters envisioned it like too. They've had a decade to think on it, how they'd react when they get reunited, how happy they'd be.
And that's just the thing. They had a decade. A decade for "when they get reunited" to slowly shift to "if they get reunited" and for the hope of a reunion to turn into just a distant dream that they sometimes reach for when they need a little help sleeping at night, but that they don't really think is going to happen.
Once a hope turns into a dream, it can be really hard to switch it back. So even when actively looking for Ezra, I don't think Sabine could really process what would happen when she actually succeeded. Like a dog that caught the car she didn't really expect to get this far, even as she sacrificed everything for it.
Finding Ezra is no longer a what if, it's now, it's happening, he's standing right there and all the imaginings about what they'd do when reunited that both of them held onto to get through ten years of being away from family suddenly evaporate away in the moment. Because none of it was even close to what they're feeling now with the impossible happening.
So they don't run to each other. They don't hug immediately and cry. They slowly start feeling out the ground between them the same way they always did, with playful snark, to find their feet again, and only when they are actually able to stand on solid ground do they finally hug. They need that solid ground to know it's real, that they won't lose what they just found again.
And if that's what Sabine, who actively went out looking for Ezra, felt... well it's just double as unbelievable for Ezra himself. For Hera who had to stay behind and couldn't let herself get her hopes up because the crash would be too much to handle. So the fact that all Hera could do was stand and stare felt more impactful to me than a full on joyous reunion.
Anyway it's a lot of words to say that the way it played out in show felt very emotionally realistic to me and I loved it. Absolutely got me wailing into a pillow about family reunion when they can't do anything but think about how impossible it feels that something could go so right.

Ezra x Jacen’s Nany Reader
Hear me out….. there’s NO WAY in the galaxy that Hera leaves Jacen with only Chopper, I repeat CHOPPER as supervision… that droid has committed war crimes on a daily basis as a form of entertainment, simply because he could.
Sabine has been to busy being a part-time jedi apprentice, and looking for a way to bring her idiot best friend/brother Ezra back home to their Mama Hera..
Kallus is simply too busy as a stay-at-home dad raising his horde of Lesat cubs, while his hubby Zeb is busy working as a part-time recruit trainer for the New Republic..
So.. what’s a VERY pregnant Hera to do when she comes across a young girl, who happens to be the same age as the Son she had just lost, in the streets of a still recovering planet after the fall of the Empire? Watching as the girl gently tends to the sick and injured that others seemed to ignore.. all while this child is clearly malnourished and weak herself.
Surprise bitch, you just got adopted by the coolest Mama in the Galaxy..
Aside from helping Hera around the Ghost with chores, making sure the ship’s baby ready, and studying (because Hera wants to help her new kid after clearly observing her passion for medicine) she eventually becomes Jacen’s teacher and basically the family’s personal Doctor.. (and I mean the WHOLE family.. Zeb tried to avoid his annual check-up once.. wasn’t happy that Kallus ratted him out and basically tricked him into Reader’s office)
The main draw back that Reader seams to have in her personal life though??? Her severe case of “Resting Bitch Face” nobody seems to show any interest in her, and only her adopted family seems to not be bothered by it.. she even tries to do things to make her face less intimidating.. constantly being aware of her facial expressions and doing her best to keep her eyebrows slightly raised and a slight half smile on her lips…
Then Ezra comes back… and you bet your ass as soon as the crying, hugging, lecturing and overall emotional reunion is done.. Hera is dragging Ezra by the ears to get a FULL check-up by the most trustworthy doctor she knows.. and Jacen is happily tagging along, holding his “big brothers” sleeves while waiting for him to meet one of his favorite people.. the outcome is… somewhat unexpected.. Ezra trying to be charming and calling Reader’s “serious face” cute..
And Reader being genuinely flustered by Ezra’s awkward attempt at flirting…
Jacen.. is getting ideas, and Chopper is going to help him because CHAOS WILL RAIN!!!
……. and he’s got years worth of pranks to pull on Ezra.. might as well start now.. 😉
a gremlins Nany.
pairing: Jacen‘s Nany!Readee x Ezra Bridger
warnings: none
word count: 2,1 k
summary: You’re Heras most trusted person. Not only did you take care of her beloved son Jacen, no. You were and still are his Nany and best friend. And not only that, after Ezra’s return, Hera ofc trusts you with his check ups. And Jacen and Chopper have a lot of fun about this.
authors note: It’s not proofread, pls bare with me! 😭 I‘m sick and I gave my best to make it as good as possible :´D I hope this makes sense, I‘m not really familiar with medical stuff, especially when it comes to Star Wars 💀
anywayyyy
enjoyyyy <333
imagine this being Ezra waiting for his routine checkups, thank you xd
Tumblr media
As she walked through the streets she didn’t fail to notice a young girl, helping the people in need.
Her way with the injured and sick was more then just gentle.
Despite her own visible weaknesses portrayed by a weak body.
After each treatment she only left them to treat the next one if they reassured her that they’re fine.
„Thank you so much y/n, wouldn’t know what I’d done if it wasn’t for your help“
Said an elderly woman, truly a heartbreaking scene even if this girl was a complete stranger to her.
was.
It didn’t take her long to approach the girl, she waited for her to finish the treatment on another injured citizen before she started to talk, startling the girl on front of her.
„Hey there..“
The girl turned around and met her eyes with the stranger, her gaze was shocked at first but soon turned into one of adoration as she looked at the pregnant woman in front of her.
„H-Hey..!“
„I‘ve been here for a little while and couldn’t help but notice your way of helping your people… could I ask you a question?“
The girl looked up to the green Twi‘lek while nodding a yes.
She didn’t know how to form the question since it was a rather personal one and let’s be honest.. they didn’t talk yet.
However, this planet belonged to the ones with the highest death rates, seeing the poor girl alone here, weakened and injured.. where were her parents?
„Do you have a family here?“
As if she saw it coming the girl nodded a no, a sad expression laying bare on her face.
The Twi‘leks heart ached for her.
She just lost one child, seeing another one, assuming at the same age as him.. it was too much to just stand by and do nothing to help.
„Would you like to become part of my crew?“
y/n looked up at her, not fully believing her ears yet.
„Are you serious..?“
„Yes“
And just like that a huge smile appeared on her face.
„Of course I’d love to!“
The woman returned y/n‘s smile and offered her her hand.
„Name‘s Hera“
„Name‘s y/n“
-
A few months passed by from the moment where you firstly walked into the Ghost.
The ship wasn’t the biggest but oh force, you’ve never felt more at peace then when you got to enter your cabin.
The ship was cozy and it even had a medbay!
Hera then decided to inform you about the other crew members and their activities.
That’s also the reason why it was so empty.. however.
Soon you were able to meet everyone, except one boy who Hera told you was missing.
Sabine grew the closest to you (after Hera and chopper ofc).
Even if her timetable was loaded with Jedi training stuff, you two always managed to spend some time together.
Zeb worked at a part time recruit trainer for the New Republic while Kallus stayed at home, making sure that their horde of Lesat cubs wouldn’t destroy everything.
Chopper is Chopper.
There’s nothing more to that since we all know how he is.
There’s no way that Hera would’ve trust him enough with her still unborn child.
Soooo.. with Kanan gone and Ezra missing, there’s only one person left who she’d trust enough with her baby.
You.
You were studying medicine, something you wouldn’t be able to do without Heras help.
She became something like a mother role for you and ohhh my goodness where our excited for the day the baby would be born.
She didn’t have to ask you, couldn’t even since you started to turn the ship into a baby safe place.. at least the most possible version of this since it’s a spacecraft after all .
Hera was moved to tears, seeing how much effort you put everyday to ensure her baby’s safety while everything that Chopper did was to mess with your stuff.
Yeah you were the right choice, no doubt in that.
„Hey, could I ask you to do me a favor? But before I tell you what it is, just know that whatever you’ll answer is allri-„
„Yes I want!“
„What?“
The woman was too stunned to speak.
„But you don’t know what I’m going to ask you..?“
„If I want to take care of your baby right?? Please tell me that this was your question???“
There was a spark of excitement on your voice that made Hers heart to flutter.
She didn’t know if it were her hormones or her (for now) clouded judgement but she immediately hugged you, fighting back some tears.
„Thank you..!“
-
Some years passed by and thanks to Heras help, you were able to actually get an official status as doctor.
That wasn’t your only ‚job‘ tho. You were also a part time nanny for Jason from the moment on he was born.
Being the most trusted person available on the ghost pushed your ego, making you think that you can perform both of your ‚jobs‘ at the very same time.
It did make some things harder for you, but it was her baby after all, he was worth it.
People who knew about your story would say that you’re literally shining in comparison to your state from when before Hera found you.
Others at the other hand were kind of scared off by your resting Bitch face, not showing any interest towards you.
Your new family didn’t seem bothered at all by it, not even Jacen, but you still gave it your best to improve your facial expressions.. they never faded tho.. .
So when the day arrived where the boy called Ezra returned, Hera instantly had an assignment for you.
She and basically everyone of the ghost crew used to tell you stories about him, how he made the ultimate sacrifice to safe his crew and Lothal.
Ten years had passed since then, since his disappearance and since you’ve been as good as adopted by Hera.
The days after the big news.. we’ll it’s safe to say that you never saw her this emotional in your entire ten years.
Not even when she was pregnant with Jacen, and this is a statement.
You weren’t there when he arrived since you had some patients waiting for their treatments, but you soon found out about the happy news when Hera called you through your comm link.
And not long after you heard her knocking on your door, dragging an middle aged man by his ears, while Jacen tagged along, holding him by his sleeves.
She asked you if you could take a look at him, a very good one since he’s been absent for like.. I don’t know… 10 years?
Yeah, sounds reasonable.
„Please do a FULL check-up. You’re my most trusted doctor on this galaxy.“
„Of corse Hera, well then Ezra.. Please take a seat.“
He freed himself from Heras and Jacens Grasp and went to sit on the special chair.
Ezra seemed to be excited about the technical stuff that surrounded him.. you’d be too if you’ve been stranded in the middle of nowhere for a decade so.. .
„We’ll wait outside, just tell us when we should come“
Said Hera and with that she and Jacen left the room, leaving you and Ezra alone.
„Okay then.. how are you feeling? Are you injured? Sick?“
Knowing how Important he is to Hera you tried to somehow neutralize your „special“ expression.
And he seemed to notice this, you barely knew him and he already started to change his attitude around you.
„No, I‘m totally fine“
He had a grin on his face while you raised your eyebrow at his answer.
„I still need to take a look at you so-“
He already started to take his shirt off, I mean he didn’t have to, just you her push it slightly upwards but you weren’t complaining.
Nope.
Not at all.
But you had to keep yourself professional.
„Why did you take your shirt off?“
„For the check-up..? If I’m not wrong that’s what patients to for the lung part?“
„Ah- Yeah sorry. Yes, ehm, thank you“
You checked his heartbeat, his lungs and everything you could do at the moment.
There was one thing that concerned you.
Not his health since it was in a good state.
But the way how he made you feel.
You tried to keep a straight, neutral, friendly face while looking him up, but he made it impossible for you.
„You’re cute“
„What?“
Your movements froze for a short while, this kind of comment was unusual.
„You’re cute. You know.. the way how you try to keep your face straight“
„You’re serious?“
„Yep. Why shouldn’t I be?“
He was charming, handsome, kind, you only knew him for a very short time. Like for real. But there was something positive around him.
And it flustered you.
„Thank you“
„Just telling the truth“
-
Unbeknownst to you two, a very curious Jacen was leaning right against the door, squeezing his ear as close as he could and boy did he smile when he heard Ezra talking to his best friend.
„Jacen, you know that it’s rude to-“
„He told her that she’s cute“
He whispered, loud enough so that Hera understood him.
And her face lit up.
„He what??“
„Shhh.. come here and listen“
This private moment, at least to your knowing, made you happy.
There was finally someone who immediately found interest in you, someone who wasn’t blinded by your facial expressions or your attempt at looking natural.
Weeks passed by and he turned out to continue to be as charming as he was the day you met him.
His genuine, true, loving self made you fall im love with him and the same goes for him with you.
Hera was happy to see how both of your presences affected each other for the better and Jacen was sure that he was destined to play your matchmaker.
And chopper didn’t let this chance go by.
Jacen wanted to help his best friend and his big brother and Chopper had years worth of pranks to pull on Ezra.
Chaos will rain
And even if Ezra had warned you that he sensed that something would happen, nothing could ever prepare you for what was to come.
It was a peaceful day at your office.
Your last patients for today waited in the waiting room and Ezra was one of them.
Hera didn’t leave him any other choice then to go and get frequent check ups from you just in case that he really didn’t catch anything on Perridea.
His frequent check ups became known to Jacen and Chopper and they saw the perfect opportunity in this to pull their first prank on you two.
Jacen hid behind the shelf with a music box while Chopper disguised himself as something fitting to his surroundings.
They knew that you’d welcome him into your office with a hug, your relationship witch him had gotten better and better and Jacen didn’t fail to notice this.
Knowing this was the base for this prank.
As Ezra neared himself to open the door to your room, opening the door and greeting you, Choppers mini metallic arm reached out and electro shocked his leg, making him loose his balance and fall straight into your eyes.
The pose you found yourselves right now was more then unexpected as his fall took you by surprise.
Jacen then didn’t waste any more time and played on the ‚play‘ button of the music box, playing some semantic song which seemed to be popular.
Chopper then took a photo, beeped some things and left the room with a grinning Jacen as fast as he could.
Your patients where beyond confused at the scene and went to your office to check if everything was alright.
As you saw them looking you two up and down… your face became the deepest shade of red known to humanity.
Ezra’s too.
This ‚incident‘ may have helped you two to get closer but you were still shy about it.
Jacen and Chopper however had other plans and lets just say that this was just the beginning.

Sabine Wren always runs away from her problems instead comforting them.
She ran away from the Imperial Academy when she discovered the Emprie's true intentions for the Duchess.
She ran away from her own family. She didn't even go to her family and tell them what happened. Instead Sabine's actions forced Ursa Wren to bend the knee to Gar Saxon and by proxy the Empire. Just so Clan Wren won't face the consequences.
Nor has she admitted as to why she would create such a weapon that would turn a Mandalorians armor against them. She would only admit to it as being a series of bad decisions.
Sabine understood from birth what a Mandalorians armor means to a Mandalorian. Yet, she goes and create a weapon that turns a Mandalorians armor into a death trap. Then why do it? Why?
And the only time Sabine would admit anything was when Kanan pressed her.
By the time of Ashoka, Sabine is still running away.
The first time the audience sees Sabine, she's on a speeder running away from a dedication ceremony to the rebel victory over Lothal. All she had to do was play nice and give a speech. Instead, she decides to blow it off. She literary blows off the people she helped save.
In a sense, she is also, running away from herself. In that she is not dealing with the loss of her family and Mandalore, in a healthy way. I think at one point Zeb, Kallus, Hera and Ahsoka tried to help but Sabine pushed them away.
Sabine Wren is running away when she dodges Ezra's questions about how she got to Peridea. She just refers to as it being shady. She just doesn't want to admit that she traded the safety of galaxy on the slim chance Ezra might be alive. Or ruin her reunion with Ezra.
She is still running away when she chooses to stay with Ahsoka. Of course Ahsoka is Sabine's master (I use that term loosely). They had been estranged until recently.
Staying is easy. It's easier than facing the questions that are waiting for her. It's easier then lying to everyone or omitting certain facts. Or having to deal with the consequences when the truth does comes out.
Sabine Wren is still running away

ahsoka finale // spoilers ahead //
so many questions. starting with the first one: what the fuck.
why is sabine force sensitive. i'm sorry but why. i don't want it and i'm not gonna pretend that i like it, so please take it back.
why didn't we get hera and ezra hugging in that reunion. that's a mother and son reunion, they should've hugged! some slightly teary eyes are not enough. i honestly don't think i liked a single reunion in this show and that's making me terribly sad?
why didn't we learn a single thing about morgan elsbeth other than the obvious. she was fucking cool in this episode, but what about a little background information?
why did ahsoka not SEE anakin's force ghost like she should have. why did they make her look at the sky, half-sense something and smile, but not see him. just why?
and most importantly, why did filoni info dumped us the reason for sabine's training and pretty much her entire arc in this show through a 1 minute conversation in which she was not even involved...? that's lazy, and quite frankly unfair for us. how am i supposed to emphatize with sabine's arc if that's all we get. that's just terrible.
all of that aside - which is A LOT to take in - i think huyang and ezra's conversation about kanan was one of my favorite scenes from the finale and it made me cry like a fucking baby. also chopper recognizing ezra before he took his helmet off. and seeing anakin's force ghost at the end despite ahsoka not fully sensing him. i just love them so much! but i really do think we deserved way better than what we got :/
anyways, the best things we got from this show were eman as ezra (i love him so much you don't understand, he's perfect!), natasha as sabine, hayden <3, thrawn <3, and shin and baylan (whom i absolutely loved and it breaks my heart due to ray's passing).
