You sat in the back of your Home Economics class, watching the pair in front of you with pure amazement. Mingyu and Jaebum were the power duo of the class, getting a perfect grade on every dish they made. You just couldn’t understand how they made such amazing food with no effort.

“Yah, stop daydreaming and help me.” Your partner, Byungjoo, nudged you in the side with a scowl.

“It’s just ramen, Bjoo, how hard is it to make?” You questioned, lazily, choosing instead to lean back in your chair.

“With that attitude, you’ll never impress Jihoon.” He pointed the spoon at you with a frown before turning back to the ramen.

You also frowned, sliding down in your chair. Your eyes landed on the boy in question, positioned on the opposite side of the room, working with his partner, Jinyoung. You’ve been crushing on the blonde boy since he stood up for you in middle school, but since you had different social circles, you found it hard to talk to him. None of your friends knew him, so it was a struggle to find a way to work yourself into his life. That didn’t stop you from trying to come up with a solution, though.

You sighed in frustration, letting your head fall onto the table. “What am I gonna do?”

Byungjoo patted your back half-heartedly as he focused on the soup. “On the bright side, it’s movie night.”

That did make you feel a bit better. “Can I choose the movie this time?”

He shrugged. “I don’t care, but you know how picky Jiho is.”

Byungjoo, Jiho and yourself have been best friends ever since you were tots in diapers. As you grew older, the bond between you became stronger until the three of you became a family, supporting each other through life’s twists and turns. To celebrate this bond and to face the reality that you all would probably split ways after high school, Jiho started hosting a movie night. Every Friday, the three of you would gather on his couch and watch several movies, usually chosen by Jiho himself. It was a small frame of time where you forgot about everything else, stuffed your face with various snacks, and enjoyed the company of your brothers.

When school ended, you and Byungjoo raced off to the local movie rental store, Blickbuster. The blonde kept sneaking around the isles trying to see which genre and movie you were choosing, but he was soon cornered by a couple of girls from school who may or may not have an unhealthy obsession with him.

‘That’s what you get for being so popular’, you snickered to yourself, quickly grabbing a couple movies that looked interesting before rushing to the counter. Because the internet was taking over when it came to movies, Blickbuster wasn’t as popular as it once had been. It sucked for them, but it was good for you because there was no line to wait in.

The cashier took his sweet time to scan the movies, making you want to yell at him to move a little faster, but he was an older gentleman and you didn’t want to be rude. You could hear Byungjoo’s steps as he rushed over to you, but the movies were slid into the plastic bag just before he reached the counter. He pouted at you, but you just offered him a thumbs up and a cheeky smile.

Jiho looked up when his front door opened, scowling at the two of you – chatting cheerfully with each other as if you hadn’t been more than fifteen minutes late. “What took you two so long? We were supposed to walk home together, remember?” You tried to subtly shift the bag behind you, but he caught the logo. “No way, I don’t trust you, Y/N!”

When he turned away to set up the DVD player, you and Byungjoo shared a sneaky look.

Sniffling loudly, you put on the saddest face you could manage as you approached the couch, hands clasped tightly against your legs. Jiho watched you with suspicious eyes while Byungjoo looked at you with pity, making sure the brown-haired male saw the look. “Come on, man! Y/N is having some serious dating issues. She was really looking forward to showing us this movie.”

Still suspicious, he shifted his weight uncomfortably. “What movie is it?”

“I wanted to – sniffle – surprise you.” You responded in a timid voice. Byungjoo nodded, throwing his arms around your shoulders and frowning at the male.

Heaving out a deep sigh, Jiho gave in. “Fine,”

As soon as the words passed his lips, your mood flipped and you high-fived the male next to you. Dread filled him as Jiho realized that he had just been played. “You guys suck!”

“We love you, too, Jiho~!” You both chorused, working together to form a heart with your hands.

Working together, you quickly filled the coffee table with snacks and got everything connected. The boys settled down on the couch while you popped the disk into the DVD player, flicking off the lights. You squeezed in between them and pressed play.

Twenty minutes into the horror movie, both boys were clutching onto you for dear life, screaming every time something mildly disturbing happened which was quite often. Meanwhile, you were completely relaxed, munching on popcorn as the guy was forced to saw his ankle off in order to escape the room.

“You guys are such babies.” You mumbled, flinching. “Stop screaming in my ear, Jiho!”

“You have no soul!” He cried, throwing the blanket over his head when a particularly loud scream left the television.

Jiho’s older sister, Sarang, descended the stairs, rubbing her tired eyes. When she saw the horror movie playing on the screen, she decided to sneak up behind the three, screaming as loud as her lungs would allow. Her brother shrieked, falling off the couch and throwing himself against the wall. Byungjoo slammed his face into your shoulder, nails digging into your arm. Even you jumped, whipping around to face the source.

“That was not funny, sis!”

Sarang giggled, flicking the lights on. “I thought it was hilarious!”

You paused the movie and tried to pry the blonde off of you. “Did we wake you up?”

“Yes, but I don’t have any plans for tomorrow.” She plopped down on the couch next to you. “Mind if I join?”

“Nope! I’m going to bed, goodnight!” Without waiting for a response, Jiho stomped up the stairs, having had enough of being scared for one night.

You turned to Byungjoo who had finally removed his nails from your skin. “You in?”

Taking a deep breath, he hesitantly nodded.

You flipped through the channels, looking for something at least mildly interesting to watch. You and Sarang had finished both movies, and Byungjoo had fallen asleep sometime during the second movie, using your shoulder as a pillow. You weren’t tired at all, though.

Because of how late it was, there wasn’t much playing on TV, so you just settled for a Running Man re-run. The blonde snored lightly as Sarang exited the kitchen, carrying two glasses of coke.

“So tell me, Y/N. Have you confessed your undying love to that boy yet?”

You shifted in your seat, taking a long sip of the drink.

“That’s a no,” she laughed, “You’re taking Home Ec, right?”

“Yeah, but I can’t cook to save my life.” You frowned at the glass, rubbing your thumb over the condensation. “Pretty sure Bjoo is failing because of me.”

“That’s a shame. You know, don’t you?”

“Know what?”

“You joined Home Ec and you don’t even know?” She looked at you in surprise. “What did you join for, then?”

“Bjoo begged me to join him because he thought the class would be full of girls. He wanted to use me as his wingman, but the class is mostly guys. There are only four girls, and two of them are obsessed with him.”

Sarang giggled. “Ah, high school life~ I remember what it was like being young~”

“You’re not even that old…”

“But you know, Y/N,” she leaned forward, holding her finger up with a smile, “The quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”

You sat for a moment, taking in that information. “If that’s the case, then I really am screwed!”

“Nonsense! Your teacher is Mrs. Jung, right?”

“Yeah,”

“Perfect! She’s an amazing cook and a brilliant teacher. As long as you listen well and do as she does, you’ll be a pro in no time.” She patted your shoulder gently. “You’re resourceful and smart, have some confidence in yourself.”

You nodded, jumping off the couch and holding out your fist in determination. “You’re right, I can do this!”

Byungjoo groaned in pain, having been thrown face-first onto the floor.

“I can’t do this…” You muttered as Mrs. Jung approached your table.

She looked down at the plate of food you had prepared, up to your crestfallen face, and back down to the food. What was meant to be a simple dish of bacon, eggs, and toast turned out to be a disaster because Byungjoo trusted you to cook the food alone after you begged him all morning.

The eggs were like rubber, the bacon was hard as a brick, and the poor toast, rather than being golden brown, had turned pitch black. Mrs. Jung cleared her throat, “Well… we all have to start somewhere. Good effort, Y/N, Byungjoo.”

You bowed your head in shame as the girls at the next table started laughing at you. Byungjoo did his best to comfort you, but his words didn’t reach. You honestly felt like such a failure – a hopeless loser that couldn’t even make toast properly. It wasn’t just your inability to cook, either. Byungjoo had trusted you and you had let him down. His grades would surely suffer from your overconfidence.

The next couple of days passed by you as a blur. You hardly said a word despite Jiho and Byungjoo’s various attempts to cheer you up or, at the very least, get some sort of reaction out of you. Everything they tried ultimately failed, though.

When lunch rolled around, you found yourself sitting alone at the table. Neither boy could be found, but you didn’t even notice. As Jihoon entered the cafeteria, his eyes landed on you. With a furrowed brow, he quickly glanced around the room, but neither Jiho or Byungjoo were in the room. You never ate without them. Had you fought with them? He had noticed your change in attitude over the past few days, but since he didn’t actually know anyone in your circle, he had no way of knowing.

The chair next to you squeaked as he pulled it away from the table, sitting down on the hard plastic. “Are you okay?”

“I can’t cook.” You muttered, absentmindedly stirring your potatoes.

He was quiet for a moment, carefully thinking over his response. “Cooking isn’t for everyone. Even so, don’t give up. Whenever you feel like giving up, think about the reason you want to improve your cooking. Focus on that reason until you no longer have the desire to give up.” After saying his peace, he stood up and headed for his usual table.

You looked up as he walked away, feeling the fork slip out of your fingers in surprise. It was Jihoon! You let his words sink in before you felt a new wave of resolve come over you. With your new found energy, you sprung up, slamming your hands on the table. “I will learn how to cook!”

The other students looked at you like you were weird, disturbed by your sudden outburst. Jihoon hid his smile behind his hand, eyes following you as you rushed out of the cafeteria.

Most of your lunch period was spent searching for your two best friends. There were only ten minutes left when you finally found them talking to each other in the hallway. You ran up to them and threw your arms around their necks.

“I’m sorry for the way I’ve been acting! I’m sorry I’m practically making you fail, Bjoo!

They exchanged a look of surprise but returned the embrace.

“What’s gotten into you?” Jiho questioned.

“Was it aliens – ow! What’d you hit me for?!”

“Because you’re an idiot and you’re ruining the mood.”

You burst out laughing, wrapping your arms around your stomach. It felt good like you were releasing all of the negativity that had been hanging over you the past few days.

The pair smiled at you, happy that you were no longer sulking. Byungjoo waited for your laughter to die down before speaking, “We have a surprise for you.”

“Surprise?” You questioned, wiping away your tears.

The bell rang, signaling the end of the lunch period. Jiho wished you both good luck before you went your separate ways. Byungjoo was practically skipping to Home Ec and you were beginning to feel nervous. Was he going to get even with you for making him watch a horror movie?

The two of you were the last ones in the class before the bell and you caught Jihoon’s eyes. He sent you an encouraging smile, which you returned with a nervous one.

You went to take your seat, but the blonde shoved you into the chair next to Mingyu who offered you a kind smile. Byungjoo took his normal seat, but Jaebum was sitting next to him. Before you could question him, the teacher walked in and the lesson began.

As Mingyu started the day’s dish, he explained the situation. “Your friends explained your predicament to me and Jaebum. You like Jihoon, right?”

You startled, dropping the metal bowl that you were holding. You visibly winced as it bounced off the table and hit the floor, spinning for a few seconds before coming to a stop. With an apologetic glance to the teacher, you scurried away to grab the bowl, wanting nothing more than to hide from the watchful eyes of your classmates. The three boys surrounding you stifling their laughter. Not knowing the two that well, you turned to face Byungjoo with a scowl.

His laughter died immediately, his body tensing.

Mingyu chuckled, gaining your attention. “Don’t worry, your secret is safe with us. They were really concerned about you, you know?”

You watched him as he carefully measured the ingredients. “They’re idiots, but… they’re good guys. I feel bad for making them worry.”

He hummed, “In that case, you should make it up to them by doing your best. Even if you fail, you can look them in the eyes and say that you did your best without giving up.”

As his words sunk in, you smiled. “Thank you. Please teach me all you know!”

“That’s the spirit!” He grinned, rolling up his sleeves. “Let’s get to work, we have a lot to cover before the exam.”

“Yes, sir!”

The next week you focused solely on food.

Reading cooking magazines, watching cooking programs, going through the notes Mingyu made you… you even went so far as to play flash games about cooking. There were several times that you wanted to give up, but you remembered both Jihoon and Mingyu’s encouraging words. It re-energized you and gave you the confidence to forge forward.

The day of the exam finally arrived.

Everyone in the class was tasked with creating a curry dish. Because it was a test, the students worked alone rather than in pairs. You were feeling extremely nervous, but your friends had sent good vibes to you before the test began. You did the best you could, using the knowledge Mingyu had instilled in you.

When it was your turn to be judged, everyone looked at you in surprise.

The curry looked completely normal, delicious even. The rules of the test were that the student was supposed to taste their own dish before the teacher, but you were feeling nervous because you had never tasted your own food before. You grabbed a spoonful of curry, trying to steady your shaking hand.

Hearing Byungjoo laughing at your nervousness, you made a split second decision. Whipping around, you shoved the spoon into his mouth only to freeze. It wasn’t Byungjoo standing behind you, it was Jihoon.

His skin turned deathly pale and the class swore that his soul had left him.

“Shit,” you cursed, watching as he stumbled out of the classroom, clutching his stomach. The class was silent.

“Go!” Mingyu whispered, pushing you forwards. You took off after him, finding him leaning against the wall for support.

Swallowing down your nerves, you gently took his arm and put it over your shoulder, helping the boy to the nurse’s office. After quickly explaining what had happened, the nurse gave him a liquid to settle his stomach before directing him to lie down on one of the beds.

You sat on the stool by his head, staring at your hands. You couldn’t dare look him in the eye after what you had done. “I am so sorry, Jihoon! I thought Bjoo was behind me and I… I’m so sorry!”

He took a deep breath, thinking over what he wanted to say. “What reason did you have for wanting to be a better cook? What’s your motivation?”

The question surprised you. “I… was trying to get someone’s attention…”

“Byungjoo?”

“Eh?” You finally lifted your eyes to meet his, surprised by the determination burning within their depths.

“You were trying to get Byungjoo’s attention, right?”

Your nose scrunched up in disgust, “Ew, no. He’s practically my brother.”

“Then who?” His brow furrowed. He had been sure that you were trying to impress the blonde.

“Oh my god! Why are these two so dense?!”

“Be quiet! You’re gonna get us caught!”

You exchanged a look with Jihoon before approaching the door. When you pulled it open, two boys fell through while Mingyu and Jiho stood behind them. The two on the floor were Byungjoo and one of Jihoon’s friends, Seungkwan.

Seungkwan pulled himself to his feet, huffing out in annoyance as he waved his arms dramatically. “You two are so frustrating!” He turned to you, pointing a finger at your face. “How do you feel about him?”

“I…” Biting your lip, you decided that you had already made a complete fool out of yourself already – you had nothing left to lose. Taking a breath to steel your nerves, you turned around to face Jihoon. “Do you remember that time in middle school? It was our second year and I was being bullied by some girls because of Jiho.”

“How is that my fault?!”

“Fangirls,” Byungjoo responded simply, throwing his arm around the boy.

You continued, ignoring their exchange. “We had never spoken before, but you still stood up for me. They stopped messing with me after that day… After that, I started to feel strange every time I looked at you. Whenever our eyes met, my heart would start racing. I found myself thinking about you whenever you weren’t around… Bjoo made me realize that I was crushing on you, but those feelings only got stronger as we got older. I originally joined Home Ec because of Bjoo… I guess I can see why you’d think that I liked him, but I started taking cooking seriously because I wanted you to notice me!” Your cheeks were burning and you felt yourself shaking a bit, but you felt so much lighter now that you had gotten everything off your chest.

Your two idiots started clapping proudly, wiping away invisible tears from their eyes. They were moved by your bravery.

Jihoon was silent for a good minute before he pushed himself into a sitting position. “Come here, Y/N.”

You glanced back at your friends for encouragement, receiving a thumbs up from both of them. You slowly approached his side.

He gently grasped the collar of your shirt, tugging you down until your lips connected with his own. At that moment, everything else disappeared. He was the only thing in your world and it felt amazing. You smiled as he pulled away, his lips ghosting over yours as he spoke, “I’ve liked you since our first year of middle school.”

“Finally! Jeez,” Seungkwan sighed as he left the nurse’s office, muttering to himself about how much of a pain you both were.

You rubbed the back of your neck, smiling sheepishly at him. “I’m sorry for poisoning you…”

Jihoon chuckled, “It was worth it.”

Little flecks of white started to rain down on you both, courtesy of Byungjoo and Jiho who had shredded up some paper and were currently tossing it at you.

“Boys! Stop making a mess!” The nurse scolded them, ordering the pair to stay after school to clean up the mess they had made.

As you watched them being scolded, you felt Jihoon wrap his arm around your waist and lean against you. It was a small gesture, but it meant the world to you. The boy you had been chasing for so long was finally yours, and you were finally his. All it took was serving him some disgusting food that nearly killed him. It was like a fairytale at that moment –

“So, are we not gonna talk about how you were trying to poison me?”

“What did I say about ruining the mood?”

“I don’t see your name on it.”

“You don’t see – are you five?!”

You giggled at their argument, reaching down to place a chaste kiss on Jihoon’s lips. “Welcome to the family~”

“Great, more idiots to deal with.”

“Hey!”

Chapter 5

“I’d rather be pecked to death by a flock of hummingbirds, but thanks for the offer.” You spat, head bowed over, staring at the ground, blood dripping on the cold, grey cement floor from your mouth. You received another blow to the stomach and you coughed harshly, trying to catch the air that was just rushed from your body. You were angry, more angry than you’d ever been before. All your fear of this man had fled your body the minute he laid his hands on you. Being made to feel weak and venerable was not something you enjoyed at all.

“Why are you making this so hard?” Heon Cheol growled. You could hear him pacing around you, orbiting your chair like a hungry lion. You struggled to fill your lungs, gasping like a fish out of water. Your throat burned from screaming, your face was stinging and flushed from all the slaps, your scalp stung from your hair being pulled and your ribs and legs throbbed from being beaten. You looked up at Heon Cheol as you caught your breath, defiance in your eyes.

“Yeah, because beating me into marrying you is really going to work.” You panted. You would never let him break you, not in a hundred years.

You hear a soft metallic ticking that kept beat with your heart, something hissed aggressively in the background. Your skull throbbed and you felt as though your chair had been flipped upside down and you were now being suspended from it. You slowly opened your eyes, fighting off the sleepy feeling that bid you keep your eyes closed for just a little longer to find you really were upside down.

You panicked and looked towards the front of the car, screaming at the pool of blood stretching towards you from the front seats. The sound of crunching gravel prompted you to change your screams of terror to cries for help, fear like you’ve never known tore at your insides and you struggled to unbuckle your belt, trying to reach forward to check on your parents.

The footsteps drew closer and closer and you didn’t stop struggling until the sound of them disappeared. A shadow descended at the corner of your eye and you looked over at your window, your heart sinking even further. Your stalker was crouched down, staring in at you, an ominous shark’s smile painted on his face.

“I can’t share you with anyone, little birdie, you know that. Not even mummy and daddy dearest. I think I tweaked the wiring of the breaks just fine enough. But don’t worry, I’ll get you to the hospital soon enough...” You shrieked, anger and fear surging through your veins. You wanted to reach forward and tear his face from his skull for doing this to you. Hoping that if he called the ambulance now, your parents would still make it, you begged him between sobs to hurry and call. As he delayed, your begging became louder, your sobs more frequent. You realised he was waiting for the life to drain from your family before everything went black.

“Oh, you’re not still mad about that, are you?” He looked genuinely nonplussed; as though you should have gotten over the fact he murdered your parents by now. You gritted your teeth and growled at him, a primal and feral anger coiling in your stomach and snaking up your throat. You struggled against the rope tying you to the chair and Heon Cheol started to laugh. He reached out and patted your cheek but you twisted your head quickly and bit down hard on his hand. Heon Cheol yelped and pulled his hand back before driving it forward into your stomach. “Listen here, pretty, you can fight this all you want but that will get boring real quick for me, just agree to be mine.”

“It’s really funny...beating people and murder...they’re fine to you...but not having the consent of a woman?” You panted, glaring up at the man before spitting a mouthful of blood at his feet. “Somehow that’s beneath you. I didn’t know a piece of trash like you could have morals.”

“We all have to draw the line somewhere.” He replied and you started to laugh in disbelief. It was the most ridiculous thing you’d ever heard! It was almost as though Heon Cheol thought that by not committing every sin in the book, he would be able to save his soul, or maybe he thought he wasn’t completely evil.

“You’re... You’re...” You struggled to find the right words as your laughter died down.

“Handsome? Intelligent? Talented?” You looked at him with a mixture of incredulity and disagreement.

“I was going to say clinically insane...”

Heon Cheol looked ready to answer when you heard a loud bang. You had never heard real gunshots before but you imagined that was what it sounded like. Heon Cheol looked back at you before walking swiftly towards the door to the room you were in. “I’ll be back soon, I obviously have some guests...”

The door clanged shut and you were left in silence to struggle against your bonds, hoping to escape before either he came back or someone else found you.

“Slow the fuck down, Seungri!” Seunghyun warned as the van they were in skidded uncomfortably fast around another corner. Not long after Youngbae had called Jiyong to report seeing _____ getting pulled into a van, Iron had called too. He had something he said, something that he claimed would change how gang life in Seoul was, something that was going to put him at the head of the business and he wanted a face-to-face meeting right now.

Jiyong was sat in the back of the van yelling rapidly down the phone. Seunghyun was up front with Seungri, hoping they would actually make it to the storehouse by the dock alive. Youngbae, on the other hand, was tailing the van _____ was in and they had yet to hear from him.

“Stop at the ToppDogg base on the way, they’re going to help us out on this one.” Jiyong ordered from the backseat, hanging up the phone before starting to text someone else. Seunghyun guessed he was trying to get through to Youngbae to make sure nothing had happed on his end or to see if he was still in pursuit. Seungri glanced at Jiyong through the rear-view mirror, he was angry and on edge, his emotions writhing inside.

“We don’t have time, hyung, if-“ Seungri started, the guilt of not having followed _____ out of the club or sending someone with her was gnawing away at his insides.

“Seungri, if I tell you to stop at a fucking 7/11 on the way, you stop and don’t question it! I’m not going in here underprepared!” Jiyong spat. He exhaled harshly and glared out of the window. His days seemed only to be getting more and more stressful. Seoul’s gang hierarchy was disintegrating faster than ever in the past year since The Spider abandoned his web and Jiyong had not signed up for housekeeping. He was the head of a very powerful gang, but that didn’t mean he had very many allies and the ones he did; well, they couldn’t all be trusted.

A few minutes later the car screeched to a halt outside of a gym. Standing by the door were five men, two of which immediately approached the van Seungri and his hyungs were in and slid the back door open. The shorter of the two greeted Jiyong quickly.

“I was able to pull up some semi-automatics, nothing heavy duty, sorry.”

“Don’t worry about it, Pgoon, I know it’s short notice, thanks for helping out.” Jiyong replied, motioning for the men to get in the car. The other man was very tall, almost as tall as Seunghyun even and had a dark, cold atmosphere about him. Jiyong watched as he slid into the very back of the van. Pgoon yelled for the others to come over and ushered them into the van. They all exchanged short greetings as Seungri sped off toward the docks.

“I hear Hunus are moving in on your hardware and trying to dissolve your gang.” Jiyong said, looking over at Pgoon. There were some angry murmurs from some of the other guys but Pgoon simply sighed and nodded, his jaw tensing. “I promise you’ll have my full support after this.”

“I appreciate that, but if Iron’s really back he’s more of an issue than these ambitious cartels. This means trouble for all of us.”

“Hyung, the dock’s been secured. There’s about ten men in the parking lot by the storehouse, no idea about the inside.” The blonde man in the back said. Jiyong and Seunghyun looked back to find two of the men with laptops perched on their laps, eyes glued to the screens. “Thanks, Xero.” Pgoon said, glancing over his shoulder and giving an appreciative nod.

“Six cars and an SUV, all with fake plates barring two which were stolen within the last two weeks.” The curly haired man beside Xero announced.

“Xero and Bjoo specialise in stealth but they’re quite handy with computers to a degree. Not our best hackers, but they’ll do good for this mission.” Pgoon supplied Jiyong who looked impressed at the thoroughness of the other men. He had never worked with them before and only vaguely knew them. TD was a rogue gang who dealt with supplying others with guns but also were available to hire for certain jobs. Jiyong was beginning to like them though. He just hoped they were as good as he had heard. Jiyong’s thoughts were interrupted by his cell phone ringing. He looked down and saw Youngbae’s name on the caller ID.

“Status?” He said, his heart rate speeding up a bit. He knew his men were good but Jiyong always worried about the day something would go horribly wrong. Every call, while on a mission, he worried would be made by a hospital or a rival gang having either found one of his men or captured them.

“All good here, I’ve just pulled up near a warehouse at the docks. There are a lot of goons here. It’s building number eleven.” Youngbae reported. Jiyong frowned in confusion.

“Where?” He asked, hardly believing that the girl could have been taken by Iron. If that was the case Jiyong and his team were going to have to be a lot more careful going in here. If something went wrong, the last thing he wanted was for someone on his side to blow _____’s head off during a fire fight.

The other guys in the car trained their eyes on Jiyong, sensing the confusion in his tone. He said a few more words before hanging up the phone and looking at Seungri.

“It looks like she’s at the docks.” Jiyong stated. He saw Seungri’s knuckles whiten over his grip on the steering wheel. Pgoon turned to Jiyong and raised an eyebrow.

“Something we need to know?” He asked wondering if Jiyong’s gang had a rat they would need to watch out for or maybe it was a hostage situation, either way it sounded like there would be extra caution that needed taking now.

“One of my employees seem to be caught up with Iron and not in a good way. He got to her earlier. Seems like he’s taken her to the warehouse.” Jiyong grinned, the tension beginning to ebb out of him as the pre-mission thrill seeped in. This was how he got his buzz. It felt like Death was standing at his shoulder and Jiyong planned to, once again, elude him.

Youngbae pulled the binoculars away from his face and sighed, staring out the window to the front of the warehouse, watching Iron’s men waddle to-and-fro. Some were chatting boisterously, so much so Youngbae could make out a few words even from where he was parked. He glanced at his phone, Jiyong having messaged his ETA and instructions for Youngbae to wait for their arrival. After a few minutes, he noticed two men creeping towards his car. He gripped the handle of his pistol and waited to see whether it was part of Jiyong’s group or Iron’s.

The shorter of the two raised his hands as he neared the driver’s side of Youngbae’s car and Youngbae opened the door, stepping out and followed the men around the other side of the car so they wouldn’t be seen.

“I’m Hansol and this is Nakta, we’re with you on this one.” Hansol held out his hand and Youngbae gave it a short shake before doing the same with the taller man, Nakta.

“Is there a plan?” Youngbae asked, looking between the two. Nakta opened the small backpack he was carrying and started dividing handguns and ammo between the three of them as Hansol began to speak.

“Xero is going to monitor the perimeter from the van and send us signals if we get any more company or of someone escapes with the girl. Seungri, Bjoo and Pgoon are going to look for the girl while Nakta and I whittle down the opposition.” At this, Hansol clicked the safety off his gun and smirked, attaching a silencer. “Jiyong’s plan is to meet with Iron, as per Iron’s request, and it’s you and Seunghyun who’ll be accompanying him. They’re waiting over there in the van.” Hansol finished, pointing back in the direction he and Nakta had come from. Youngbae nodded and collected his freshly acquired hardware from the ground before getting up and going to find the van.

You could hear more gunshots and this time they were a lot closer. Letting out a roar of frustration, not caring who could hear, your anger levels swelled on the tides of hopelessness. You somehow managed to knock the chair over and you were now lying on your side on the ground, chair still attached. Your shoulder and head now ached from the impact with the ground. You squeezed your eyes shut and tried to pry your arms away from each other once more when you heard the door opening again and footsteps. Your eyes shot open and you let your body sag with the realisation that there would be nothing you could do to defend yourself in this position.

“_____?” There were two people entering the room and it was the cute, curly haired man who spoke your name. His soft face and eyes begged you to trust him, but you couldn’t, you didn’t know him. Not responding, you simply glared at him, trying to work out whether he was friend or foe. “It’s ok, we’re with Seungri.” 

“Oh thank God!” You whispered, embracing the relief that flooded your tensed body. The curly haired man pulled you upright before undoing your bonds. The other man stood sentry at the door, his black hoody and baggy jeans obscuring his entire frame. The curly haired man pulled you up out of the chair and you felt your knees scream in pain from being battered.

“Are you ok to walk?” He asked you, his large brown eyes filled with concern. You tried to smile and nod.

“Guess we’ll just have to see.” You replied. As you got to the door, the man told you his name was Bjoo and the man standing by the door was called Pgoon. You didn’t questions the strange names, figuring them to be nicknames. They pulled you out of the room, Bjoo having one arm firmly around your waist, your right arm wrapped around his shoulders as you tried to shake your limp off. As your party of three rounded the corner Pgoon was knocked down by a surprise punch. Two men pounced on your group and Bjoo dropped you, pushing you away from the ensuing scuffle.

You turned to look at the two trying to fight off the men that had just appeared. Grabbing a bar you found strewn on the floor you stepped forward and swung it backwards, aiming your forward swing at the back of one man’s head. He sprawled forward, blood beginning to leak from the wide fissure you had just carved on his head. You dropped the bar as Pgoon took down the other with a quite bullet from his silenced gun. He nodded at you as Bjoo grabbed you again. Before any of you could move you were stopped by the sound of footsteps coming down the dark hallway. Both men with you raised their guns, Bjoo pushing you behind him. Suddenly Seungri appeared around the corner.

“Waaow...” Bjoo exclaimed hoarsely, obviously feeling the fright of the situation. Seungri came towards you, his hands finding their way to either side of your face as he examined you. He cursed, wiping, what must have been, blood from your chin. He turned to face the other two.

“You guys need to scram. The whole area’s going into lockdown, they know something’s going on.” He said. Pgoon shook his head as he changed cartridges in his gun.

“If they know something’s going on, the rest of my men are in trouble as well as Jiyong. We’ll go round up the others and cover the ones meeting Iron in case things spiral.” Pgoon nodded at you and Seungri before moving away. You reached out and grabbed Bjoo’s arm before he left.

“Thank you.” You whispered, hoping the gratitude you felt towards him was conveyed. He merely smiled and shook his head.

“I should thank you, you were the one who clocked that loser over there.” He nodded toward one of the two men lying on the ground. “Take care.” He said before nodding at Seungri and leaving. Seungri turned to face you once again looking hurt. Not physically, but as though seeing you like this hurt him.

“We gotta run, _____. C’mon.” He grabbed your arm and pulled you forward. You stumbled through dark hallways, Seungri clearly knowing where he was going. As you rounded a corner you felt a hand grab you other arm. You yelped, fright surging through you. Seungri turned around and told you to duck. You whipped your head forward as his fist swung through the space your head had just been. A man grunted behind you and Seungri pulled you behind him. You looked up unable to feel anything but awe in the swift movements he used to take down your assailant. Seungri directed one more rapid punch at the man’s jaw before standing up and straightening his suit jacket.

“All done there, Jackie Chan?” You asked. The man sure knew how to fight. Seungri tried to stop himself from laughing but failed.

“For now.” He said with a slight smirk.

He grabbed your arm again and pulled you after him. You reached a door and he opened it to the outside world. You both stopped for a moment taking in the too quiet area. The space in front of you was a wide expanse of empty gravel surrounded by large storehouses, much like the one you had just exited from. The center space, however, was devoid of any life and only sparsely decorated with a few motionless bodies. You froze, grabbing Seungri’s arm as you stared at the bodies.

“Hey, it’s ok. Just look at me, not at them.” Your eyes drifted to his, the soft expression on his face thawed some of the fear from your body. You nodded at him and he took your hand in his, squeezing reassuringly.

“The car’s just across the lot. Youngbae should be waiting there, let’s go.” He whispered. Your body was buzzing with adrenaline and your straining ears were alert for the slightest noise. You could feel your knees getting ready to give out as you sprinted across the gravel, Seungri’s hand still firmly gripping yours. You gritted you teeth, begging your body to hold out until you made it to the car. The only sounds you could hear were your hurried footsteps crunching on the gravel beneath and the wind whistling around your ears. The foreboding feeling you had about the, otherwise, eerie quiet still sitting heavily in your stomach.

Suddenly, the silence that surrounded you was shattered by a gunshot.

Boy would be cocky af. He was nervous up until the point that he saw you were as excited to meet him as he was to meet you. When he saw that you were blushing all of his nervous energy would disappear and he'd be his confident goofy self. Making you laugh with his weird antics and doing his best to win your heart. 

HANSOL

Probably pretty damn anxious about the whole situation. Wants to make sure he makes a good impression so he's a little shy at first. He'd definitely be his super sweet and friendly self, and as soon as he sees how excited you are to meet him he'd feel really flattered and he might blush. 

PGOON

This smooth criminal is going to 100% adore your cute reaction to meeting him. He already thought you were adorable but wow.. save his soul. He's going to comment on it freely and make sure you know exactly how much he likes your personality and sweet looks. Compliments your talent and skills and makes comparisons to show you how good you'd be together. 

JENISSI

Is a little shy but he's trying his best. The maknaes won't let him live. Probably gives you his email address for music purposes. He'll be suuuuuper relieved to find out that you like him too and that it was obvious that you were excited to be face to face with him. Later he'll get your number over email. 

NAKTA

Is probably super quiet when you first meet, you'll start all of the conversations. But he is obviously giving you his undivided attention, you're all he sees. At the end he would be upfront and ask you for your number and possibly see if you'd like to get coffee. He doesn't seem like the type to miss and opportunity like this. 

SANGDO

This sweetie lord help me. He's going to be a shy cutie when you start to compliment him on how handsome he is. Breaks out some cheesy lines about how you look way better than he ever could. You're blushing, he's blushing.. get married already! He'd be the one to have bought flowers beforehand so that when you first meet he could give them to you and tell you that's he's a huge fan of your performances and that he always anticipates seeing you shine on stage. 

HOJOON

BIASSSSSSSS fucking kill me look at this giffffff When he first saw you blushing while glancing at him he would smile to himself at how cute you were. You'd be gripping one of your members by the sleeve and hiding behind them when you bowed to him and he'd giggle. "Are you afraid of me?" He'd tease you. He'd make you laugh in an effort to have you open up to him and when he got you beside him to talk he'd ask you if you'd like to hangout with him sometime for coffee. This little cute Casanova. Slay me.

YANO

100% nervous but 100% unafraid. Walks right up to you and recites your stage name, real name, birthday, blood type, the works. Tells you about his favorite performances of yours and really shows you that he is interested and that he pays attention to you. Wins your heart in minutes because wow.. this boy is dedicated. Gets your number and a plan for a date before the end of your first meeting. He's a man on a mission.

ATOM

This goofball is going to try to get your number as smoothly as possible. This ends with a lot of giggling and some pretty bad jokes. He's trying though! Talks himself up and flexes for you. In the end he facepalms at a few of his jokes but he got your number so that's a win. 

XERO 

He's gonna act like he's got it together but don't be fooled. He's screaming on the inside the whole time. He smoothly gets your number all while questioning how he's gotten this far in the back of his mind. Manages to make you laugh a few times and every time he hears you giggle his confidence raises a level. Confident enough to hug you before you part ways. Texts you for a date later in the evening and runs around the dorm screaming to the members about how he got the cutie of his dreams!

AAAAA TOOOOOM~

I’ve had a lot of messages asking about A Tom interactions, so here it is!! I got to spend a good chunk of time with him :]

A Tom was a wild ride from start to finish.

I had a little bit of an interaction earlier when I was mostly talking with Hojoon. I was wearing long sleeves, and my sweater's sleeve had started to fall up while I had my hands up, exposing my wrist piercings (two dermals, one on each wrist). While talking to Hojoon, I noticed that A Tom was staring. Getting his attention, I asked if he wanted to see - this is a super common thing. I have people ask me to look at them all the time at work. He nodded, mouth full of food, and I leaned over the table just a bit to show him. After staring for a moment, a new wave of food came by and he literally ate off the serving plate. Its good, because Hojoon looked a bit uncomfortable (more with his story). 

A while after, we mentioned that someone at that end of the table thought A Tom was handsome/they were biased with him, and Manager went "Tommy! Tommy!!" A Tom perked, asparagus still hanging from his mouth as he played musical chairs and swapped around. (The fact that he goes by 'Tommy' is one of my favorite things.)

"Australia?? Are you from Australia?" And we corrected him "No, America" and his eyes light up.

"Americaaaaa! I like America, I like Americans!"

I almost made a comment about 'at least someone does', but I didn't think he would catch my sarcasm well so I refrained.

He asked where we were from, and we told him Salt Lake. He perked. "New York!?"

"No, A Tom."

He looked confused for a minute, so I pulled out my phone. While I pulled up where we were from, I tried to tell him it was where the Olypmics were since the other members seemed to know about that. When it loaded, A Tom straight up took my phone OUT OF MY HAND and scrolled through pictures. "Oh, its pretty!!"

"Yea, theres a lot of mountains. And snow."

He started to just go through my phone at that point. Finally, when he set it down, he looked around and started asking everyone how old we were - I had learned by now this would happen with every single member.

Laira and I are near PGoon's age, and we mentioned we were Noona's, and he asked "Oh, PGoon?" And we nodded. He looked at Rae and asked if she was a noona, and she shook her head and he goes "Oh! Dongsaeng!! Chingu, friend!" He then fist bumped her. It was cute, so we all laughed - until he turned to us and goes "Ahjumma~"

Laira and Cheri's faces both dropped. I sat there like a dumbass and nodded, going 'sure!', which of course made him laugh in the very typical A Tom style. Laira was not pleased, and he picked up on this, going “Sorry, sorry!” 

I was confused, and it wasn’t until later I found out that he was  calling us Grandma’s. 

He then started asking everyone their name, and asking how to spell it since he wasn't entirely used to western names. When it got to me he was very confused (Des, they were understanding as 'death' or DETH - I had to pull out my phone again and spell it so he understood). With Rae he got REAL excited because apparently he likes an artist that's spelled the same way her name is, so he asked me for my phone again - this time I gave him my iPod, it's less dangerous to go through that. He pulled up Apple Music and started to go through my library until I switched it over and he put the artist in. (After he went through my music and ended up in my Vocaloid section. He asked me for help after that).

"Listen - if you like Rap, they're good! You like rap?"

We love rap and hip hop, so we told him yes. He grinned.

"You like rappers~?"

Once again, we told him yes. And at this point, Laira decides to spill the beans on Rae.

"She really likes rap - and she thinks you're handsome!"

A Tom grinned. "I am handsome~"

I couldn't stop laughing. His playful self confidence just SCREAMED Gemini, and it was funny, even if he was being extremely casual. I still prefer it over a fake persona.

He pulled his drink closer and started to talk about how he liked coffee a lot - he was drinking it black, over ice, through a bendy straw. It seemed to really fit his personality, honestly. Laira pointed something out I didn't really notice.

"A Tom, what happened to your hand?"

He looked down at his thumb - it was entirely wrapped in a bandage, it looked like it had been sprained or something. "Oh, this?" He leaned back and sighed. "It was a fight."

"A fight??"

"Yea.. 17 men."

Are you serious. We played along.

"Oh, really?" I leaned forward a bit, "All trying to fight you?"

"Yea, man!" He grinned.

"Did you win?"

"Of course! I fought them, all 17.” He paused barely for dramatic effect, “All at once!"

I wanted to make a reference to Old Boy at this point, but almost deemed it inappropriate. He sat, smiling and nodding for a bit, before he looked across us all.

"....I was playing basketball."

We laughed, so did he.

"Yea, just tell people you fought the 17 men."

He laughed at my joke and pulled his drink forward again.

I finally couldn’t take it anymore. I really wanted to give some of the members their stuff. "We brought presents!"

"Present?" He set his drink down, and I nodded and pointed to the two duffel bags sitting next to him - his eyes almost bulged out of his head.

"...For us?"

"Yea!"

"What is it?"

"Lots of stuff!"

He continued to stare at the bags, so I leaned over just a bit. "....Do you wanna see?"

When he nodded, I unzipped the bag - A Tom was the first person we started handing things out to, so I dug through the contents and pulled out his labeled bag of candy and card. I handed them to him and he looked over them, and grinned.

"Is this chocolate?"

"Yea!"

He laughed, then proceeded to speak in an American accent, saying "Chocolate" mostly over and over again. He looked at the bag - at this point I felt the need to point out something vital.

"Oh, some stuff in there you can't eat."

He looked up. "What?"

We had put honey sticks in, and also glow sticks, so I pulled out some of the glowsticks and cracked them and shook them before putting one around his wrist. It was super bright in the room, so the effects weren’t very apparent. Cupping his hand over his wrist, he looked down into the shining glowstick. “Aww right...We clubbin’!” He laughed and waved his arm around, seeming rather pleased.

Laira grinned. “Would you like to take us to some clubs? We don’t know where any are!!” 

A Tom lowered his arm, “Ah...I actually don’t really like clubs....” He laughed, seeming almost sheepish at this. 

“No, thats okay!” I shook my own head, “We’ve been nervous to go to any alone.. But what about arcades?” He looked up, “What kind?” I wasn’t really sure what he meant, really. We had been to an arcade the day before that seemed like a Nickle-cade or something similar we’d have in America, but we had also seen a couple of claw-machines that were labeled arcade. Knowing that he’d done a ‘date’ type video before at one of those, we  started talking about those. “The claw machines!” He stared, looking puzzled. Laira then began to pantomime a claw machine reaching down and taking a toy, with her balled up fist being the toy. He watched, seeming very amused, and then laughed.    “Oh!! Doll machines!” We nodded, “Yea, those!! We have a bunch by our hotel!!” We started telling him stories about how we got a bunch the other day and how a guy even stopped to help us get them. The entire time, he was nodding and listening, going over the bag of candy we had given him.

"...Pop rocks!!!" He pointed these out.

"Yea! You don't have those here, do you?"

"No, but I know what they are."

I reached under and pulled out another one of A Tom's gifts - Twister. I handed it to him, and his eyes sorta went wide.

"What...What!?"

I explained how you put the mat on the floor, and how we were sure he's seen other people do it and play it, and we told him we thought it would be a fun thing to live stream on V or something. He seemed to like that idea.

Even though he had been extremely casual, I'm sure he was worried that he had crossed a line into offensive territory without meaning to. We told him a few times that he hadn't, and that he was fine.

I have an obsession with hair, so now was around the time I decided to ask A Tom about his.

"A Tom, do you like having your shorter hair?" I was mostly curious because BJoo and Hansol both stated that they preferred their hair shorter and more natural now. Seeing that A Tom was younger than them and we hadn’t gotten a chance to speak to Yano much, I was curious.

He looked at me for a sec, and smiled, running his hand along the side of his head as he seemed to think. He did this a lot while he spoke, actually.

"It's not bad! It looks good."

We asked him if he liked it better than his old 'broccoli' hair and he was quiet again for a minute.

"I'm not teasing!" I assured him, a bit worried that he thought we were. "We liked it, a lot! But its new, so we were wondering since other members changed too."

He sighed, still smiling. "I miss it. That was my favorite hair, but Korea hated it - so I change to something they liked."

I genuinely felt bad. That sucks. We all expressed sympathy for him and he shook his head.

"See! This is why I like my fans - they liked the Broccoli hair like I did!" He picked up his drink and gave us a flirty, 'idol' look. "I love you guys~"

"We love you too, A Tom!!"

He was taking a sip of his coffee right as we said this, and I don't think he expected such an enthusiastic response, because he snorted into his coffee and slid back in his chair. There was an intense search for Napkins, and Laira offered him to use her sleeve (which he was adamant on not taking), but I think after that he was embarrassed regardless of how much we tried to console him.  That was around the time that Xero started to yell that he was coming over to hang out with us and more or less kicked A Tom out of his seat. I didn't get to see much more of A Tom later on, he sorta just moseyed around. He was leaving his stuff strewn around everywhere, so I grabbed his card and handed it back to him to make sure he took it before he ran off.

BJoo Time~!

BJoo goes first for a couple of reasons. He sat directly with us from the beginning - Laira was actually sitting next to him for the entire start of the meal, until Hansol literally forced him to switch places. He spoke a lot of English - a LOT of English, which was a pleasant surprise. I know in live streams and stuff previously he's asked fans to speak in Korean, but he's been working really hard, and it's showing. He joked around a bit and used an American accent a few times, and he spent most the meal wriggling around.

We came in a bit late due to taxi/traffic, and we were nervous as Hell when we first got in and everyone was seated, but BJoo tried to be really friendly and initiated conversation with us. We played the 'how old are you game'- each of the members did this. They'd ask how old each of us were and ask for our names. BJoo was really sweet. Laira, being the outgoing, ballsy person she is, didn't answer him directly. Instead she asked him how old she thought we were. He sat for a moment and went "....Younger than me?" Which, really I don't think he was trying to be impolite. He seemed to actually think about it and study each of our faces. Honestly, we're both a bit older than him by a few years, so when we told him he was wrong and he started guessing ages and got to the right one, his eyes lit up and he goes "Oh! Noona!" and it was really, really cute. Rae is younger than everyone, so he (and others later) just called her 'dongsaeng'.

This is also where we found out that BJoo didn't like Hummus, which was in that video that I took and sent. They had little snack plates that they dropped off with cheese and crackers and stuff. Some of the cheese cubes had little toothpicks with ToppDogg's logo on them, and BJoo thought that was awesome. He pulled his phone out to show us the food he had made the other night. From where I was sitting it looked like curry, but I was across the table, so Laira asked what it was. BJoo, extremely excited goes "Scramble!!"

Laira squinted, "Scramble...?"

Yano leaned over and goes "Scrambled eggs."

BJoo lit up. He was extremely proud of his scrambled eggs. Informative Yano was informative.

He said his eggs were a lot better than the hummus and ended up showing us all his broken screen while showing us what he had made. When we asked him how he broke it, he said he forgot it was in the bathroom with him and he was in a hurry, and it fell. He seemed kinda embarrassed (or maybe self conscious because his English was a little broken), so I reassured him that I'd done that too and I'd dropped mine in the sink before even, and after that he seemed to feel a bit better and started to relax. Laira went "I'm sorry you broke your phone!" and he seemed genuinely confused. "Sorry? Why...why sorry? You didn't do anything." And then we explained to him that people just use it to express sympathy or empathy in the states, and he goes "oh... you didn't do anything though." His confusion was really endearing.

He asked us where we were from, and when we said Salt Lake City he looked a bit confused, which we expected because Utah isn't exactly the first place you think of when you think United States, but then the Manager got really excited and explained to him thats where the Olympics were a few years ago, and then BJoo got really excited about that. I explained to him that it was close to Las Vegas, and he laughed and said he wanted to go to Vegas, so I invited him with us. Then he goes "Pshh I have no money!" Laira leaned in a bit closer and went "We'd pay for you", to which I backed her up and told him he should do it. He laughed and said it sounded fun, and we talked a little bit about the times we've went and stuff.

From there, he asked how we liked Korea, and if we'd had Soju yet. I told him we had, and he asked if we liked Soju or wine more and we talked about that. The manager joked about him liking Whiskey and BJoo made a face.

"What, you don't like Jack Daniels?"

BJoo stared at me for a minute and blinked, "Jack...?"

The manager at that point laughed and shook his head and told us that BJoo really didn't like liquor and didn't know the brand 'Jack Daniels'.

"Oh! You don't drink?? What about coffee?"

He shook his head again and kinda laughed, "Nooo... I like sweet!! Tea! Iced tea!"

So then we started talking about Peach Tea, and how he really liked sweet things, and the manager made fun of him for that too. I then asked him if he liked Mochas and sweet coffee and he goes 'oh yea, I like those!'

While talking we were waiting for more food, and things got kinda quiet again, and he asked us if we knew any Korean. We said a little, and he asked 'but are you good?' We said no, and he leaned forward.

"Okay! Since we wait for food, it's time to learn 'I am hungry', okay?"

We all nod and go "okay!"

He grinned and goes "Sangwon i pabo"

So, of course, all four of us stupid American's repeat back "Sangwon i pabo", with varying levels of accuracy.

"No, no, no, no--" he shakes his head, "You have to mean it - be /loud/. You're /really/ hungry!" He leaned back, started to rub his stomach, and he repeats it again, so we all repeat it again - and at this point in time, I notice Laira goes 'wait', and our new friend Cheri who was sitting next to me stops too. So now it's mostly my stupid ass repeating back and forth this little phrase with BJoo. This is probably a good point in time to mention Yano's sitting right next to BJoo, and up until now he's been spending most of his time talking to the Australian ToppKlass.

Cue him whipping his head around and looking at us.

"You know what 'Sangwon' is, right??"

Laira leaned forward just a bit, "It's...your name."

Meanwhile, I'm confused, because it took me up until now to start saying 'pabo' instead of 'pablo', and BJoo was laughing. Cheri then looked at me and goes "You've been calling Yano an idiot this whole time."

I was mortified and wanted to scream because I LOVE YANO. So immediately I started trying to apologize, especially since I know he gets his feelings hurt fairly easily, and he just shook his head and said it was fine. But I swear I died a little inside on that day. [[Mmmm whatcha say playing in the distance]]

Around this time BJoo picked up one of the longer toothpicks he had collected on his plate and turned to Laira. "Do you like Pencing?"

We were a bit confused. Until he made a stabbing motion with his toothpick and said it again, and we realized he meant fencing, and she told him she never had before. So he motioned to the toothpicks, and I really wished I got this on video, but he started to fence with her from the toothpicks and they each stabbed each other a couple of times. It was great to watch. By now, more food showed up, and I started talking to BJoo about his hair since its the chestnut brown color right now. We asked if he liked it when it was blonde and he said he did, and then he and I talked about blonde hair care products because I love stuff like that (for those of you curious, he had a purple shampoo that his stylist gave him). He said now that he's a little older he likes the more 'natural' colors, and he prefers it when its shorter than when it's long - he said he wants to be seen as more mature.

Around this time, he also turned to Laira (since he was right next to her and I was right across, he did a lot of talking to us), and goes "So, do you have husband?"

And, once again, bold and ballsy Laira goes, “No, would you like to be my husband?"

And he stared for just a beat before turning back to the cheese plate and going 'DELICIOUS' really loudly and shoving a bit of cheese into his mouth. Then everyone laughed and he got embarrassed, but laughed with - he was really funny about it, it was great. We asked him if he was ok or if we upset him with the joke and he said 'no its funny!', and laughed. I told him that was payback for making foreigners call Yano stupid.

That was around the time he switched seats (and by 'switched seats' I mean Hansol was screaming "BYUNGJOO" from the other table because he needed to move apparently), so he waved goodbye to us for now and wandered off.

Later on, we got to meet up and talk to him again, and I had earlier mentioned that we brought them gifts. We sought out BJoo to give him his mountain of presents. We had made each member a Valentine card (I didn't get any pictures before we gave them out, but I do have one of PGoon holding his), and a Valentine's bag of candy that we get from local candy shops near my house. BJoo also got a muscle tank top with a cat on it that says 'Yeah bro I lift' - so yes, those pictures floating around of him in that shirt, I saw it, and Laira bought it for him. He put it on immediately and wore it for the rest of the event. She also got him a Spirited Away lanyard and Haku neck pillow since he likes Miyazaki things, and some One Punch man stickers since he likes OPM. We sat and talked about OPM with him for a sec (he was stoked over the Saitama sticker). We also got him a few more shirts with cats on them, one said 'Hug Life' since it reminded us of one of the 'Thug Life' shirts that he has.

When they were doing the certificate ceremony and 'thanks for coming' speech, BJoo spent most of his time playing with the candles. He and Hojoon kept blowing them out and relighting them, until PGoon threatened them with our present. (and even then, BJoo only stopped for a few minutes before he was back at it again).
