౨ৎ First Time with Sukuna ౨ৎ
warnings: minors please stay back!
a/n: I was writing this all last night. well, i was roughly writing it and yeah… IT WAS FUN eheheh i love him i just want him so bad i wish he was real ughhh but yeah this is more smutty than the choso one i wrote so let me know if i did okay! please ( ^ω^ ) oh also! i didn’t know there was a character limit on here? so now i know why when people write longe things on here they separate sections! i’ll need to get used to that!!! and if theres mistakes ignore it i didn’t proof read it >:( ♡
You and your boyfriend have yet to have sex. Why? You think his dick is gonna kill you.
~~~
“Are you gonna run?” Sukuna asks with his large hand on your head. “No.” You answer back muffled. “What was that?” He proceeds to turn your head away from the pillow he's stuffed your face into, hoping for you to repeat yourself.
“I won't run Sukuna,” you tell him.
His lips start to form a boyish smirk, “Good girl.”
Right now, Sukuna has you flat against his California King with his thick length teasing your folds. He’s questioning you right now because you’ve tried to run away from him. Twice. Why? Because your freakishly tall boyfriend obviously has a freakishly big dick. Do you want to fuck him? Yes, of course. But do you want to die? Fuck, no.
“Baby, look at me.” You slowly stare at your boyfriend with a pout on your face. “I’ll take care of you, I promise, okay?” he softly says. You nod your head in agreement as he kisses down your spine. “I’d never hurt you. Wouldn’t dream of it, ever.” He’s leaning over you, staring at you deeply. “Okay, I can take it,” you tell him which prompts his cocky smile you love. You turn your face back into his pillow as you feel your face get hot. “You embarrassed now?” He laughs. You roll your eyes at him, “Just shut up and get on with it.”
“Oh? Now you want me to fuck you? What were you tryna do 10 minutes ago?” He questions as he carefully slips into you. “Relax, beautiful,” he sighs, and of course, you oblige, calming your nerves, waiting for him to fully be inside of you. “That’s it, baby… Fuckkk just like that, you’re perfect, so fucking perfect.” He groans. You feel him stretching you out little by little. He’s massive. You really know how to pick ‘em. “Kuna,” you whine, “I know, baby, I’m not even halfway. You want me to stop?” “No, I can take it,” you confidently say. “Good fucking girl.” Sukuna proudly says to you.
He continues to slowly push his length into your pussy while reassuring you’ll be okay. Sukuna begin to groan to himself “Ha-hah, you feel amazing, fuck, oh baby you’re mine, I’m never letting you go.” He’s finally inside you with his dick sitting snuggly near your cervix “Sukuna, it feels s-so good,” you whine to your delirious boyfriend. “Can I move, please?” You hum in agreement, patiently waiting for him to move. He starts slowly easing in and out of your wet pussy almost passing out at how warm and tight you are. He leans down onto your back, snaking his beefy, tattooed arm around your waist and pushing his his deeper into your hips. Your boyfriend began to grunt in your ear, “You feel so good, I-I don't know what to do with myself, tell me, tell me what you want from me, baby.”
“Fuck me ‘Kuna, ‘nd don’t stop.”
He begins to pound into you like a madman. Sweat dripping onto your face as he groans into your ear. You’re loving this. It’s like you have him on a leash. He’s animalistic, pounding into you with so much power yet so much love. He's obsessed with you. Luckily for the 2 of you, he has no neighbours because, trust, he would have had police at his door for having multiple noise complaints. His thick length is hitting the right spot, every. Single. Time. Why didn’t you make love with him sooner?
“Ohhh, you feel me hah, you feel me in there doll, hmm?”
“I fe-feel it ‘Kuna, mhmm, I love it, love it so much.” He laughs, still thrusting into you manically pleading for your cum. He’s dying for it. “Come ‘ere.” He demands. “Wha-” before you can question him, Sukuna is pulling you up against his bulky chest, wrapping his muscular arm around your neck, putting you in a headlock. “I need you to cum. Can you give me that, hmm?” He proceeds to nod your head for him, himself like you’re his puppet, “ such an angel, you always do as I say, he mentions, and he's right, most things he wants you to do, you do and vice versa, you own each other's hearts. He’s fucking into slowly but roughly and it’s enough for your climax to approach. “I’m gonna cum, ‘Kuna, I- please,” you beg him.
“Look at me.” He says as he tightens his arm around your neck. You stare at him with pleading eyes, begging for your release. He kisses you lovingly, telling you to wait for him; he wants to finish with you and only you. “I’m with you, baby, let go,” he whispers onto your plump lips. And you do as such, you’re cumming, so hard that your vision turns white, you’ve never felt this way before from sex? NO, this wasn’t just sex, it was love making. You yearn for each other, which is what makes it more beautiful and fulfilling.
You were scared Sukuna would kill you with his dick and he 100% did. You’re sure you died and went to heaven, and you’re still not back yet.
“Are you with me?” Sukuna asks as he pokes and prods at you. “You… You murderer, you're a MURDERER SUKUNA!” You pick up a pillow and smack it on his face continuously. Sukuna takes the pillow you’ve been attacking him with out of your hands and gawks at you,
“Okay, drama queen, let's go shower.”
♱ In which boyfriend!choso can't keep still long enough to last a punishment
“Don’t move, Cho,” you remind him.
He whines. Bare and standing, you’re free to kneel before him and suck at his leaking, throbbing tip. Your boyfriend can do nothing but hope he doesn’t shudder too much whilst you tongue his swollen slit and milk his length with a tight fist.
“Baby, please. I cant. You’re being mean a-and cruel.”
Admittedly, you are being cruel – he can’t touch you, can’t make commands, and cannot, under any circumstances, let that glass cup balancing on his head drop. The pigtailed bastard deserves it after he tried sending a video of you getting your back blown out to your shameless ex, who wouldn’t stop texting you, only to end up sending it to your mother instead.
Cupping his heavy balls in one palm, you massage the pair, feeling the panty-soaking heat in them all while they promise to fill your stomach with his salty cum. For someone complaining about how much he hates this punishment, he sure is using up a lot of energy to keep his head up and still. Abs flexing, you can’t help but rake your long nails down the sculpted muscles. He shivers and gasps.
“I already -ngh!- said I’m s-sorry. Just take it off me and let me fuck you.”
Very tempting. Unfortunately for him, and your greedy pussy, he rarely ever gets his way with you. So, with a mouth full of his pulsating cock, you say, barely coherent, “Nope! You’re just gonna -mmm quit moving- have to man up and take your punishment like a good boy.”
A fat droplet of precum slides down your throat. Hmm, he sure does love being called a good boy. How sad.
Your arm stretches up his torso all so you can tweak the piercing on his blushing brown nipples. He doesn’t say anything when you slap his ass too, though he doesn’t need to – the sudden tightening of his ball sack says enough. Thighs begin to shake. Fists clench so tight his knuckles turn white. His jaw hangs. Any second now, he’ll burst in your mouth. For his own good, he better not drop the glass. You’ll make him clean it up with your hot pink vibrator tied against his frenulum, which he has grown much too familiar with over the years. Maybe that’s what he’s hoping for.
“My ex was never so pathetic,” you muse. “When my misbehaved boyfriend is struggling over such a simple task, it makes me miss hi–HMPH!”
Choso growled and grabbed your head with both hands, vein in those huge biceps flexing. Something animalistic flashed in those blown out eyes. That’s all the warning you got before he shoved his cock deeper down your throat, filling you up so manically. He doesn’t waste a single second before ramming inside your mouth and whimpering at the wet friction. The glass shatters in the background. You can’t even get a word out to complain because he’s pounding your throat like he’s trying to kill you.
“You’re -oh fuck!- mine,” Choso growls. Grunting and staring up at the ceiling, too stimulated when he looks down at you, you watch his Adam’s apple bob. Your eyes roll back. He looks so pretty desperately chasing his release and using you as a glorified fleshlight. “I’ll kill anyone who -hah- t-tries to take you.”
Those are his last words before he blows a scalding load into your stomach. You haven’t even swallowed and he’s already lifting you up and throwing you over his shoulder. When you bounce on the bed, your glare prompts an answer out of him.
“I didn’t want you to cut your pretty feet.” He presses a sloppy kiss against the sole of each of them. Then, he brings one to rub at his burning, hardening dick, moaning like a whore as he stares down at you with desire, love, and obsession radiating from every pore. “My girl’s gotta look her best for the video I’m sending to that loser, right?”
You sigh. “Whatever. Just make sure you don’t send it to my mother again.”
Choso pouts.
“Stop bringing that up; it’s embarrassing.” Climbing over your body, he sucks at every inch of skin he can before the need to kiss you overwhelms him. “Ugh. She heard me call you mommy.”
Giving the nerd a chance
tags: nerd!nanami/fem!reader, college!au, stsg, nsfw, dirty talk, asphyxiation, size kink, mdni!!
a/n: this one’s a long one :) pace yourself and enjoy!
Kento Nanami is a social enigma. He is a total outlier but in the weirdest way possible.
This man is conventionally attractive. Some would even go as far to say Nanami’s handsome, almost in a filthy way. His looks are sneaky too. He’s not someone you’d immediately notice in a room, but once you did…
You would notice his sculpted jaw line first. Then, his naturally high cheekbones that gave way to his soft hazel eyes. He had a serious look on his face always, but his eyes told a different story. Maybe you’d notice his blonde hair that sat neatly on his head, styled with an undercut. Yeah, Nanami was fucking hot.
But that’s not the weird part. No, you haven’t heard him utter a single word except to answer the professor’s unanswered questions once the silence was unbearable.
That’s not exactly weird either. There are tons of people who go through college without the intention of making friends… but Nanami has friends. He doesn’t just have like one friend. No, he’s apart of a friend group.
The weirdest part was he seemed to be close with the most popular guy in your university, star quarterback Satoru Gojo. Gojo was seemingly every college girl’s wet dream. He’s the type to stand out in a room. His looks and personality demand attention.
He’s the complete opposite from Nanami.
Then, there was Suguru Geto… Geto was also a strange friend for Nanami to have. Geto was smart, funny, and well-mannered… when he was in class. But you’ve seen how Geto acts at parties. He smokes cigarettes, shotguns whiskey, and keeps up with all of Gojo’s antics. Shoko was the exact same way, except she didn’t care enough to keep up with Gojo’s buffoonery.
They were the complete opposite from Nanami as well.
Yu Haibara was a cutie patootie. He’s also a sweet social butterfly. Another one of Nanami’s friends that just didn’t seem to be his type.
You caught yourself staring at the friend group as you’re sitting on a couch at a frat house. Your college team just won the game, so Satoru had invited a whole slew of people over. You somehow made it on that list. Your friend, Utahime, is begging you to leave, but something is telling you to stay.
“Go on without me, Uta. I’ll be fine, promise.” You say over the music as you flash her a small smile to assure her.
“I really, really, really don’t want to leave you here alone, yn. I don’t want you to end up on the front page of the news.”
“Don’t wish that shit upon me.” You laugh as you gently nudge her arm, urging her towards the door.
“I’m serious, yn. Please text me. If you’re not back in the dorm by midnight, I’m calling the cops.” She says as she grabs your shoulders, forcing you to face her directly.
You admire your friend’s caring demeanor, but she was being a total cock block for you right now.
“I will text you. I promise.” You assure her once again. “Go back to the dorm. Love you.”
She sighs deeply as she lets you go. She’s still not comfortable with the idea of leaving you here, but she can’t force you to leave. “Love you too. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”
“Oh, that’s all I’m gonna do.” You smirk as she flips you off and leaves the frat house.
You take a drink from your red solo cup to gather your nerves. Nanami has been sitting in the corner of the kitchen all night. He’s alone, but he doesn’t look lonely. Sometimes, Satoru will drunkenly slouch his weight onto the blonde and slur something inaudible to him. From what you can see, Nanami just rolls his eyes and shrugs his friend off his shoulders.
You want to approach him, but you’re still too afraid he won’t talk to you. As you sit down your cup, an intoxicated Satoru is standing over you.
“I’m sorry- I don’t remember your name.” He gives you a slanted smile as he crouches down a bit so you two are face-to-face.
“That’s okay. I don’t remember yours either.” You snip back with a small grin. Something sparkles in his eyes as you give him a little bit of a challenge. He finds it to be endearing.
“Cheeky. Give me your number.” He demands, keeping his smirk on his face.
“Why should I give it to you?”
“Because it’s not for me.” He slurs as he leans in close to you. He nods his head towards the kitchen. “I’m doing this for my pussy friend over there.”
Your eyes dart towards Nanami. His eyes are glaring holes into Satoru with more anger and emotion than you’ve ever seen from him. Your stomach swirls with butterflies.
“That is a really good reason.” You murmur as you quickly type your number into Satoru’s phone.
*** *** ***
It had been days since the frat party and not a single word from Nanami. Your excitement had honestly fizzled out into sulking. Were you not good enough for him? Did Satoru lie? Was it all a sick prank?
Not even Utahime could get you in a good mood.
“Yn. This is so ridiculous. If you like him that much, just go up and talk to him.” She chides
“Noooo.” You groan into your pillow as you turn onto your stomach in your bed. “He’s too cool. Out of my league.”
“Are you sure we’re talking about the same Kento Nanami? The nerd who barely ever talks? The know-it-all in class?”
“Utahimeee.”
“You’re embarrassing yourself.”
“Let me wallow in my self pity.” You gripe before you hear your phone buzz. The sound of your phone notifying you doesn’t even excite you anymore. It’s always some lame ass notification.
Unknown Number: Is this yn?
Your eyes widen as you stare at your phone in disbelief. Your body involuntarily sits up in bed, startling Utahime.
“Jesus Christ. What? What happened?”
“He texted me!” You beam proudly. You are embarrassing. Utahime scoffs and walks away from you, unable to take the second-hand embarrassment.
Yn: Yeah, that’s me :)
Unknown Number: This is Kento Nanami. I’m sorry Gojo felt the need to disturb you at the party.
Yn: No need! He didn’t disturb me too much.
Nanami: That’s good to hear.
God. Now, what do you say? Of course Nanami is a dry texter. You stare at the text conversation for a while, trying to think of something.. anything to break the ice.
Yn: Did you ask him to get my number, or did he do that on his own volition?
Nanami: Gojo does things on his own volition.
Yn: Ah.. I see.
He left you on read.
Goddammit.
You had your chance, and now, you blew it. Sighing, you lock your phone and try to forget he even ever texted you in the first place.
*** *** ***
I mean, who even needs Nanami? He’s really not even that handsome or mysterious. You keep telling yourself as you get ready to go to another party Gojo invited you too.
Oh, also, Gojo kept your number for himself as well. He mostly asked to copy your notes when Nanami refused to let him copy his notes. He would also send the occasional invitation to one of his signature parties.
This one was apparently labeled as “exclusive”. You had no idea what that meant, but you weren’t allowed to bring a plus-one this time.
Luckily for you, Utahime was visiting back home for the weekend, so she couldn’t scold you for going out to another party this weekend.
Black eyeliner was smeared across your waterline, and you puckered your lips as you carefully applied some sheer gloss. You decided to be casual with your outfit, wearing a basic off-shoulder black top with some jeans.
As soon as you got to the frat house, you quickly understood what “exclusive” meant. It was only their closest friends in the house. Satoru and Haibara were on the couch, lounging. Suguru and Shoko were sitting by the window, sharing a cigarette. Nanami was sitting in a chair in the corner of the room, looking as stoic as ever. Immediately, you were grateful for going with a more casual look.
“Yn! So glad you made it!” Satoru grinned in a more sober voice than the last time you spoke with him.
“Am I imposing on something?” You ask as you close the door.
“Of course not, silly. I sent you an invite for a reason.” Satoru says casually as he pats the spot between him and Haibara on the couch. “Come have a seat. Get comfortable. We’re just hanging out tonight.”
You stare at the seat between Gojo and Haibara, and you decide to sit in the open chair next to them instead.
“Afraid that we might bite?” Gojo grins as he leans over the arm of the chair towards you.
“Stop it, Satoru. You’re going to scare her away.” Shoko scolds before taking a drag off her cigarette.
Your phone gently buzzes in your pocket as Satoru and Shoko begin to bicker about his social skills. You sneakily check your phone.
Nanami: You look pretty tonight.
OH. We are so back, baby.
Yn: Thank you :) You look as handsome as ever.
Nanami: Oh yeah?
It is so small and insignificant, but that little “oh yeah?” makes your stomach flutter with excitement.
“Yn?” You snap your attention up to Shoko and realize she has been trying to talk to you.
“Shit- sorry. What’s up?”
Your phone lightly buzzes again, and you quickly glance down to check.
Nanami: You’re blushing.
“I was asking what your major is.” Shoko smiles calmly as she’s sat upon the windowsill. She flicks her cigarette outside before blowing out a cloud of smoke. You try to ignore how your heart is skipping beats right now.
“Oh, I’m just in general studies right now. I’m kind of indecisive. What about you?”
“I’m pre-med right now.” Shoko answers.
“I thought you swapped to nursing.” Haibara asks as he shifts his body to face her. The two start conversing together, giving you a chance to check your phone.
Nanami: Are you ill, or do my words just affect you that much?
Yn: I’m actually ill.
Nanami: You’re also apparently a liar, sweetheart.
How the fuck was this man so bold over text, but wouldn’t speak to hardly anyone in person?
Yn: Sweetheart? I didn’t know we were on that sort of level yet.
Nanami: Does that make you uncomfortable?
Yn: No
Nanami: Good. Then don’t complain.
The throb your cunt just did should’ve been illegal. There was no reason for you to be so turned on by that, but you were.
Yn: What would you have done had I said that it did make me uncomfortable?
Nanami: I would’ve found you a nickname you were more comfortable with.
He was being sweet, and you were over there clenching around nothing like a whore.
You had been so caught up in your phone that you didn’t realize Yu had went and gotten everyone a beer out of the fridge. You decide to risk a glance at Nanami. He looked calm and composed. You wondered if he even knew the effect he had on you truly.
“Shoko, when are you finally going to get some bitches?” Satoru asks with a laugh. Your eyes widen as you notice Suguru is on his lap now. You had really been so distracted by your phone…
“At this rate, I think Nanami will beat me.” Shoko laughed as she took a drink of her beer. You shift slightly in your seat as Shoko cuts her eyes towards you with a small grin.
Nanami: I will
Yn: Will what?
Nanami: I will beat her.
Yn: Confident or competitive?
Nanami: Both.
Yn: You didn’t strike me as the type.
Nanami: You don’t think I can do it?
Yn: I never said that.
Nanami lays his phone on his lap, and you can feel his eyes trailing up and down your body. Feeling your heart skip a beat, you decide to look up at him. Your breath hitches in your throat as you glance over him. He looks relaxed. His head is propped up in his hand, and he’s almost giving you a lazy smile.
Knowing more about Nanami, you recognize it as a cocky smile now.
The rest of the “party” goes without a hitch. You decided it was time to leave once Suguru and Satoru were obnoxiously making out, Shoko was asleep on the floor, and Haibara wouldn’t shut the fuck up about the intricacies of anime.
“I’m gonna head back to my dorm now. Thanks for inviting me.” You say quickly as you stand from your seat.
“Hey yn-!” Satoru says as he tugs from Suguru’s lips. The dark-haired male made quick work of moving down to his neck. “Thanks for coming. You should come out here more often.”
“Oh um, I’ll think about it.” You smile politely as you head out the front door. The cold night air nips at your skin. The only light was from the moon high up in the sky. The dorms were a few blocks away.
You never like walking alone at night, but you try to remember that college campuses have security patrolling at all times. Taking a deep shaky breath, you step off the porch.
The sound of the door closing again immediately startles you. You quickly flinch and look towards the frat house. Nanami was calming walking up to you.
“Let me walk you back.” His voice was calm and steady, just like his presence. He really wasn’t phased at all by your subtle flirting earlier?
“Thanks.. I was actually kinda scared.” You mumble as you two walk side by side on the pavement. Your arms hug your body, trying to hide from the snippy air.
“Why didn’t you ask one of us to walk you home then?” Nanami asks as he slips his coat off from his shoulders. He then loosely drapes it over your shoulders. You feel your heart skip a beat as you mumble a quick thanks. Your body snuggled into his coat as it swallowed your frame whole. It was the first time you realized… Nanami is a big man. He’s not just some scrawny nerd. He’s actually pretty well built.
“I didn’t want to be a bother.” You answer quietly, noticing how Nanami shoves his hands into his pockets while you two walk.
“That’s foolish. We invited you. The least we could do is make sure you make it home safely.”
“We?”
Nanami goes silent, and he looks away from your shorter self. The wind blows harshly, making the leaves crinkle and hiss on the trees.
“Yes, we.” He finally answers your question. You smile softly as you look down towards the ground. It seems like Satoru wasn’t the only one who wanted you around.
Standing in front of your dorm door, you slowly slip the coat off from around your shoulders and try to hand it back to him. “I don’t want it.” He answers calmly, making no effort to take the jacket back from you.
“It’s yours, silly.”
“And?”
“Take it.” You gestured the coat to him once more
“No, I want you to have it.” He says as he towers over you. You subconsciously take a step back to create space, and your back hits the door. He leans over you, having to angle his back to see eye-to-eye with you. You can feel his warm breath ghosting over your cheek as he cocks his head towards your ear and neck. “Text me.” He murmurs lowly before pressing a soft kiss to your cheek.
You were left against your door blushing madly as he casually sauntered away.
*** *** ***
You almost think you dreamt that kiss up come Monday morning. You hadn’t texted him all weekend, not even knowing what to say. You felt scared about messing things up and taking his advances the wrong way. He hadn’t reached out to you either.
You were sitting in Neurology, half-ass paying attention as the professor lectured about neuron pruning. Nanami sat a few rows over. He always appeared to he intently listening when you glance over at him. You perk up as you feel your phone buzz on your thigh.
Nanami: You’re not going to do well if you don’t pay attention.
Yn: I could say the same for you.
Nanami: Could you?
Yn: …. point taken
Nanami: You know, you could’ve at least texted me if you didn’t like the kiss.
Yn: Who said I didn’t?
Nanami: So, you disobey my request for fun?
Yn: Disobey is such a strong word. You told me to text you, and I just.. haven’t yet.
Nanami: We’ll come back to the disobedience topic. Why haven’t you texted me “yet”?
Yn: Nervous.
Nanami: You’re adorable. What’s there to be nervous about?
“Can anyone name an example of synaptic pruning?” The professor’s sudden loud voice catches you off guard. You hadn’t been paying attention at all, and you feel your heart start to race at the thought of being randomly called upon.
“Anyone?” The professor asks once again. “Yn-“ She almost says your first name before Nanami interrupts.
“Crown thinning.” He answers the question, saving you from total embarrassment.
“Very good. Thank you, Kento.” The professor praises as she turns back around to start lecturing from the powerpoint again.
Yn: You totally just saved me.
Nanami: Pay better attention.
Yn: Then stop texting me.
Nanami: No.
Nanami: Answer my question. Why were you nervous?
Yn: I just didn’t want to say the wrong things.
Nanami: You’re hopeless.
Yn: You’re starting to sound like Utahime :(
Nanami: Will you coo to me that you love me if I act like her?
You feel your heart start to race as you read his text over and over. He was way more observant than you gave him credit for. You couldn’t even think of a time where you told Uta that you loved her in front of him.
Yn: Is that what you want?
Nanami: That does sound nice. Though, I think I’d rather hear you breathlessly professing your love to me.
oh…
oh.
You sat your phone down. No way were you going to let some simple words over a screen let you get horny in class. You didn’t dare to glance in his direction as you suddenly decided to start paying attention and taking detailed notes on Neurology.
Nanami: You’re blushing again.
Damn him and his observant personality. Damn him and his filthy words that make you squeeze your thighs together to soothe the ache.
Yn: I’m well aware.
Nanami: It’s cute. Makes me want to say more things just to get a reaction out of you.
Yn: Please don’t
Nanami: Why? Scared you might like it?
Nanami: Scared you might like the thought of being beneath me, begging for more?
Jesus. There was no misinterpreting that. You tugged your bottom lip between your teeth as you stared down at your phone, rereading his message over and over. It painted a picture in your brain.
Yn: As if you could make me do that.
Nanami: I can, and I will. Come over tonight.
Yn: To the frat house?
Nanami: No, to my room. I’ll tell Haibara to not come back until late.
Yn: That seems rather rude.
Nanami: It’s far better than the treatment you’ll be receiving later.
Your head feels like it’s spinning as the professor dismisses class. The rest of the day drags by painfully slow as you feel every little heartbeat and flutter in your chest. Nanami talked big game for someone who seemed too shy to really speak to you. It made you feel intrigued. How could he be so confident in his ability to make you beg?
You took your time once you were back at your dorm: going through your everything-shower routine. You wanted to make sure that every inch of you was soft and smooth just in case! It’s not like he’s actually going to make you do anything.
Knocking on his door, you feel your stomach churn with anxiety. You two seemed to be doing better at keeping up a conversation, but you were still deathly afraid of that awkward silence sinking in.
The click of the lock gains your attention, and Nanami opens the door for you. “Come in.” He says flatly, moving out of the way of the door so you can squeeze past him. He’s wearing his usual button-up shirt with black slacks on. How does this man even relax?
Of course his room is completely clean. His bed was even made military style for crying out loud. What the fuck does this man know about making women beg?
“Your room is nice.” You compliment, trying not to sound too awkward.
“It’s a room.” He shrugs nonchalantly before his eyes travel your body.
“How did you tell Haibara not to come home?” You ask, and he gives you a slightly puzzled look.
“I told him the truth.” He says as he loosens his tie from around his neck.
You swallow harshly as you watch his slender fingers pull at the fabric. His jaw is perfectly sculpted along with his neck, and his adams apple bobs as he steps towards you.
“Which is?” You reluctantly ask.
“I told him not to come home unless he planned on watching me fuck a pretty girl to tears.”
Your breath hitches in your throat, and you stare up at him with almost a frightened gaze. His movement feels much more predatory now as if he’s been watching you for a while, sizing you up. He had observed and stood by, waiting for the prime opportunity to pounce.
“What is it? Cat got your tongue?” Nanami asks as he steps forward again. The back of your knees hits his bed, and his smile shifts to a lopsided grin.
“No. I just…” You had no idea what to even say to that! You weren’t use to a man so confidently bolstering about his skills without sounding like a total idiot. Nanami was a rarity. He could talk the talk and walk the walk.
“No. I just..” He mocks you. “You’re awfully nervous for someone I haven’t even touched yet.” His fingers gently caress over your collarbone, before he carefully nudged you back. You tipped over and found yourself sitting on his bed, looking up at him with big round eyes.
“Christ. Have you ever even done this before?” He asks as he leans over you. His hand press down on the mattress at both of your sides, effectively trapping you beneath him.
“Yes!” You exclaim with a huffy attitude that makes him chuckle. “Have you?” You ask, trying to even the score.
“No.” He responds before closing the distance between you two. His lips press against yours and move delicately. Your eyes widen before you realize what was going on, and you slowly melt into the kiss.
Lips smack together as he takes the lead on the kiss. His hands gently cup and caress their way down your body before resting upon your hips. His knee finds it’s way between your thighs, and he applies pressure to your core.
Stifling a small whine, you entangle your fingers through his blonde hair. It’s softer than you imagined it to be. His kisses are growing more and more demanding as he’s pushing you back onto the bed more and more.
He gently bites at your lip, and he applies more pressure with his knee. As soon as you let another another small whimper, he slips his tongue into your mouth.
He’s taking complete and utter advantage over your body while you’re still trying to wrap your head around the fact he said “no”. He’s claiming to have never done this before.
His thumbs dig into your hipbones before he makes you grind against his knee.
“That’s right. Use me.” He purrs lowly, encouraging for you to keep rolling your hips. Once you found a steady rhythm, rubbing yourself against his knee like a desperate slut, he releases your hips and grabs your wrists, pinning you down to the bed.
“Ken..” You gasp out lowly, and he immediately eats up your words, forcing his lips right back upon yours.
The grinding was slowly making you feel all dizzy in the head as you slowly start to mess up your rhythm. He immediately notices your messy state. His hands leave your wrists to grab back ahold of your thighs to make sure you don’t stop. If his slacks weren’t black, he was sure there would be a small damp spot on his leg from your delicious juices.
“Hah~” You gasp as you lean your head back.
“Does that feel good?” He questions lowly before carefully nipping at your neck.
“Yes… Yes, Kento.. more..”
“Oh, what was that, darling? I didn’t hear you.” He taunts as he bites his way down your neck.
“M-more!” You whimper out as you grow impatient.
“So greedy…” He murmurs before his sucks a small hickey on your neck all while he’s still making you grind your pitiful pussy against his thigh. “Beg.”
You feel that defiant nature wanting to kick in. You were needy for him, but you weren’t to the point of begging yet.
“Did you hear me? I said beg.” He demands as he forces you down on his leg harder. Your legs tremble around him as he’s making you rock hack and forth.
“Please-“ You finally choke out against your defiant nature. “I-I.. want more, please… I need you to.. to ruin me.”
“Ruin you, hm?” He asks as his hand carefully trails upwards to your neck. He applies just a bit of pressure. “A pretty girl like you asking for me to ruin her… How could I say no?”
He removes his leg from between your leg, and he quickly replaces it with his hand. His fingers rub firm circles around your clit through the cloth of your leggings. You immediately shudder from the new stimulation. You hold his gaze as he lightly chokes you.
“I think I want to see you come on my fingers first.” He says as he’s quick to shove your leggings and panties down. You gasp quietly as you look down at him. He shuffles himself down between your legs, and he has a determined look on his face. He was set on making you come with his hand.
You push your thighs together with a small whine as he gives your glistening cunt an amorous gaze. Nanami places his hands on both of your knees as he forces your legs back apart. “Now, you know why you came here. What are you running from?”
“I- … You’re looking at me like…” the words ‘like you want to eat me’ die upon your tongue. His aura is just so.. almost intimidating. Not in a scary way, just in a he’s-not-here-to-play way.
“You’re so pretty, but gods, you’re so confusing.” He shakes his head as he carefully drags his tongue up your slippery folds. “Just sit still and let me take care of you, darling.” He mumbles before he laps at your cunt again. He purses his lips and gently sucks on your clit. It almost feels like he’s making out with your pussy.
“Oh.. f-fuck..” You gasp as you lean your head back into his mattress. Your hands fist at the blanket beneath you, ruining his perfectly made bed.
Nanami continues to lick and suck. The sounds in the room were nothing short of erotic. The wet sounds of his lips and tongue smack and almost slurp at you. His hands hold your thighs up, practically wearing them as earmuffs as he eats you like a starved man.
His fingertip gently traced over your opening before he carefully slipped a finger in. He continued to lap at your cunt as his finger pumped in and out and prodded around.
“Oh my-! .. N-Nanami.. ah~” You pant out. In his eyes, your entire body was flushed. You were so subtly grinding yourself against his tongue. In his eyes, you were a goddess in touch with her sexuality and femininity. You just needed a small nudge to get there.
He adds a second finger, and he so carefully curls them upwards to gently press right on the spot that made you see stars.
Your hands abandoned the bed, and you grabbed onto his hair. His hazel eyes flutter up at you, and his glasses were pushed up onto his head.
Your orgasm was building quicker than it ever had before. “Nanami-! fuck, I’m gonna..” You try to warn, but he’s already a step ahead of you. His fingers start pumping a big more aggressively, and he’s pointed with his tongue, focusing all his attention on your clit. His tongue swirls in tight circles around the small bundle of nerves.
Your orgasm washes over you as you clench around his fingers, spasming on his face. He continues to thrust his fingers, letting you ride out your orgasm on his face and hand. Pressing a few more small kisses to your overly sensitive cunt, he slowly pulls away. “Good girl.” He praises lowly.
Your heart is pounding in your chest as you recover from the best orgasm you’ve ever received. Your eyes flutter open weakly to see Nanami ditch his glasses. He uses the back of his hand to wipe his mouth and chin dry.
He then places the fingers he so deliciously used to fuck you into his mouth, and he sucks them clean with a satisfied groan.
“You taste so sweet.” He mumbles as he slowly unbuttons his shirt. It falls to the floor as he starts to unbuckle his belt. You can already feel your arousal building up again as you see the absolute tent in his slacks. Of course the nerd was absolutely hung.
Without another word, his pants and boxers are on the ground. His dick stood hard at attention. It was too heavy to press all the way up towards his stomach. Speaking of stomach, he was absolutely fucking built. He had well-defined solid abs and a broad chest.
You watch carefully as he fists his length a few times. You admire the way the veins bulge from his hands and arms. He wastes no more time: climbing up on top of you. He guides your legs up onto his shoulders, and he leans forward, putting you in a mating press.
His hand suddenly covers your mouth. “Spit.” He orders bluntly.
“W-what-?”
“I didn’t stutter. Spit. Unless you want me to go in dry.”
The thought of that sounded like a nightmare, so you gathered as much saliva into your mouth as you could, and you spat into his hand.
He doesn’t look phased in the slightest as he lubes himself up with your spit. He lets out a soft breath as the wet sounds of him gliding his hand up and down his cock fill the room. He then wipes his hand off on the bed, and he covers your mouth tightly with his hand. “Try not to be too loud, darling. I don’t want anyone to come and bother us.”
He was so fucking confident that he was going to make you noisy. It almost pissed you off, but Nanami was a man of his word.
He aligned himself up with your entrance, and with one deep motion, he buried himself all the way to the hilt. You let out a silent scream into his hand, and your back arches up off the bed. His eyes darken as he lets out a guttural growl.
Your cunt was just too precious to him, squeezing him so perfectly. You were absolutely sopping wet and so goddamn warm. He actually had to bite his tongue to not come prematurely. Once he tasted the hint of metal in his mouth, the urge to finish subsided.
“Shhh, shh. Be a good girl. The pain will subside soon.” He assures you quietly as his hips gently rock back and forth shallowly.
“Mmmnnf~ K-kento!” You moan into his hand. He hates having to muffle your pretty noises, but he really can’t risk getting a noise complaint right now.
“That’s right, darling.. Take it..” His hips start to roll with a bit more conviction. His thrusts are slow but powerful. Each time he buried himself deep in you, you went all dizzy in the head.
“Oh fuck, you’re so pretty like this.” He praises as his other hand holds one of your thighs up for you. Your body is almost slack from how harsh his hips are snapping into you. His leaking tip was bruising your cervix with each brutal thrust.
Nanami wishes he could take a picture right now. Your eyes are all glossed over. Your face is flushed the prettiest shade of pink, and your lips are all puffy and slightly parted. Your babbling utter nonsense as your greedy pussy takes him in with each thrust.
“F-fuck..! So big.. can feel you right here~” You moan as you point towards your lower stomach.
Nanami looks to where you’re pointing, and as if this man needed anymore courage, he begins to fuck you harder.
Plap! Plap! Plap! Plap!
“Yeah? Y’feel me in your womb, darling?” He groans. Noise complaint can be damned. He lets your mouth go and grabs your hips as he continues to pound your pretty pussy.
Tears involuntarily spring into your eyes from the sheer intensity. When Nanami said he was going to fuck you to tears, you thought it was just a figure of speech. Nah, you were lying in his bed, crying because the dick was so good.
“Look at me.” He demands as he grabs your blushed cheek and forces you to look up at him. “This pussy’s mine from now on, understand me?”
“Y-yes!” You cry out to him. Your stomach starts to coil with white hot pleasure as your orgasm builds up again.
“Tell me you love me when you cum on my cock.” He demands lowly. You’re too fucked stupid to argue.
The bed squeaks and wails in agony as he his thrusts are growing more erratic and sloppy. You could feel him getting closer and closer to his release as he gets more vocal and noisier too.
Your eyes cross as you feel your body gyrate on him. Your second orgasm crashes over you so suddenly you didn’t even have time to warn him. Your soul nearly floats away from you as you feel warm juices flood out from you. “Fuck~.. I-.. I love you, Nanami!” You whimper out. In the heat of the moment, it does feel like love.
Such pure pretty words being uttered during such a lewd time. Nanami is instantly emptying himself into you. His dick throbs as he shoots ribbon after ribbon of cum inside of you. His hands are shaking as they hold onto your hips. “Ngh.. I love you, darling. Take it.. All of it. Don’t waste a drop.” He lowly growls.
The room is quiet as both of you pant softly. After a few moments, you realize you had professed a love to him that you weren’t even sure about. Yes, Nanami was attractive physically and mentally. Sure, he was apparently a god in bed, but love???
What if he wasn’t even being serious when he told you to say that? He probably didn’t even mean it when he said it back. What if you made things weird? Is that why he’s being so silent?
Nanami leans down and presses a small kiss to your forehead. “That was intense. Are you alright, darling?” He asks affectionately.
You nod weakly, not wanting to frustrate him with your insecure thinking style.
“Are you sure? I’m not only talking about physically.” He murmurs softly as he slowly allows for your thighs to slip down to around his hips. His hand carefully strokes your cheek.
“I told you I love you..” You murmur out quietly, avoiding his gaze.
He exhales softly in amusement. “You did do that. It was very sexy. Do you regret saying it?”
“I.. I don’t know.” You confess quietly. “You said it back too…”
“I did. Seeing your body in such a vulnerable state as you were trusting me with your very essence made me feel full with love.”
You look up at him as he just said the most romantic thing you’ve ever heard.
“I don’t think I regret it.”
“I’m glad. I don’t regret it either.” He smiles and presses another small kiss to your temple.
*** *** ***
“Was that really your first time?” You giggle as the hot water coats your body. Nanami’s fingers are attentively massaging shampoo into your scalp.
“It really was.” He laughs quietly. “Why is it so hard to believe.”
“You were too good for a virgin.”
“I’m glad my darling thinks so.” He smiles and carefully leans your head back, so the water can rinse the shampoo from your hair.
“Where did you even learn that stuff from?” You ask curiously, wondering if Nanami just had a secret raging porn addiction.
“I have the horniest friend group. They don’t understand the concept of too much information.”
Ah. That makes sense.
hold me tight │ jjk 18+
"I never stopped loving you."
Trigger Warning: This story contains emotional and physical abuse. (Jungkook is not the abuser btw)
pairing: jeon jungkook x reader (f)
genre: exes to lovers
rating: 18+, fluff w smut.
synopsis: Y/N is untouchable, his dare: "Make her fall in love with you."
Two years ago, Y/N was just a dare—a game Jungkook never meant to take seriously. But somewhere between the laughter, late nights, and whispered promises, he fell. Hard. Then the truth came out, and everything shattered.
Now, Y/N is a single mother trying to rebuild her life when fate throws Jungkook back into her world. He’s changed. Older. Steadier. But the past still burns between them. As secrets unravel and emotions resurface, they’re forced to face everything they tried to leave behind.
Some wounds run deep. But some loves never die.
-
“Maybe,” you start, voice light and sweet, “the reservation can wait.”
You round the corner into the bedroom, heels in hand, lips slightly parted at the sight in front of you.
Black dress shirt. Sleeves rolled just enough to show off the tattoos. Silver watch, subtle chain. Hair pushed back perfectly like he didn’t even try.
He glances up from the mirror.
Smirks.
“Yeah?” he murmurs, walking over, eyeing your dress like he wants to ruin it.
You loop your arms around his neck lazily, standing on your toes. “You just look so good, baby. It feels wrong to let anyone else see you like this.”
Jungkook chuckles, low and rough, hands finding your hips like instinct.
“Pretty sure you’ve seen me look better.”
You pout. “Not recently.”
His brow lifts. “That right?”
Before you can answer, he hooks his arms under your thighs and lifts you like you weigh nothing, setting you down on the kitchen counter with a grunt of satisfaction.
Your breath catches.
He steps between your legs, crowding your space, lips ghosting over yours.
“We have all day, baby,” he murmurs, voice a little rough. “I’m all yours.”
You fake a whine. “You’re teasing.”
He grins, kisses your cheek, your jaw, then finally your lips. “Maybe.”
You wrap your arms around his neck and whisper into his mouth: “Ten minutes.”
He pulls back just enough to grin. “Dinner first. Then I’ll give you all the time you want.”
-
The sunset hits just right — golden and warm, spilling over the skyline like it’s bending just for you. String lights sway gently above your heads, casting soft glows on silverware and champagne flutes. The city buzzes somewhere below, muffled by height and distance, replaced by the quiet clink of plates and the lull of soft jazz floating through the speakers.
Sitting in Le Morte— the restaurant his parents gave to him on his 21st birthday. The same restaurant where he asked you to be his girlfriend, the same tiny restaurant you both promised his parents to build up to success. Now, it's a beautiful restaurant sitting at the top of the tallest towers in South Korea.
You sit across from Jungkook, candlelight flickering between you, and he looks—
God. He looks unreal.
Black dress shirt, sleeves rolled, collar loose. Gold chain sitting just at the base of his throat. One arm draped casually over the back of his chair, the other lazily stirring the ice in his drink like he has all the time in the world.
But his eyes are locked on you.
The whole time.
Not just glancing. Not just admiring. Watching you like he’s soaking in every second. Like he’s trying to memorize the way your lip gloss catches the light, or how you tuck your hair behind your ear when you laugh too hard.
“Stop,” you murmur, cheeks warm from the wine. “You’re staring.”
His smile is crooked. Intimate. Like it’s just for you.
“Let me,” he says softly. “Might not get to do it like this again.”
You blink. “What does that mean?”
He leans forward, resting his elbow on the table, fingers rubbing gently at the base of his glass. The sunset behind him catches the glint of something silver in his palm.
A small box.
Your breath stops.
You freeze.
He stands up.
“I was gonna wait until dessert,” he says, voice low but certain. “But I can’t. Not when you look like this. Not when I’ve been carrying this for months.”
The world quiets.
He drops to one knee.
Your heart stumbles.
“You’re it for me,” he says. “Even when I’m loud. Even when I’m wrong. Even when I piss you off and leave dishes in the sink. I want you. I want lazy mornings and midnight drives and grocery trips with a shared cart and matching house keys.”
Your eyes are already burning.
“So marry me. Let me wake up next to you for the rest of my life. Let me be yours, fully, finally, forever.”
He opens the box.
A silver ring. Simple. Elegant. Yours.
You cover your mouth, tears slipping before you can stop them. And your voice shakes as you whisper, “Yes.”
He lets out a breathy laugh like he was holding it in for hours.
You stand. He grabs your waist and pulls you into him — tight, full-body, arms around you like he’s scared you’ll vanish if he lets go.
He kisses you.
Slow. Certain. Familiar.
And when you pull back, your forehead rests against his, both of you smiling through tears.
“Told you I’d give you forever,” he whispers.
-
You barely make it through the front door before he’s on you.
The ring is still snug on your finger, your heels are kicked off, and he’s kissing you like the air in his lungs depends on you.
Your back hits the wall. His hands are everywhere — one at your waist, one sliding up your thigh, slow and sure and possessive like he’s already memorized every inch.
But it’s not rushed. It’s not messy. It’s deliberate.
His lips brush your cheek, your jaw, the corner of your mouth.
“You look so fucking beautiful,” he murmurs, thumb tracing the line of your lower lip.
You whisper, “You’re shaking.”
He swallows hard. Smiles, a little unsteady.
“I’m in love. Give me a break.”
You reach for him — fingertips curling into his shirt, pulling him closer.
And he lets you.
Lets you tug him down. Onto the couch. Into you.
He kisses you like a prayer, like a secret, like a man terrified and overwhelmed and deeply, undeniably yours.
His hands are slow.
His mouth is reverent.
Every inch he touches feels claimed, branded, held.
“Say it again,” he whispers as his nose grazes your collarbone.
“What?”
“That you’re mine.”
Your voice breaks against his shoulder. “I’m yours.”
And he breathes out the quietest, most broken “Good.”
His lips press into the crook of your neck, soft at first, barely there — like he's grounding himself. Like he needs to feel you just to believe you're real. His breath is warm, shaky against your skin. You can feel the smile in it. The ache, too.
You exhale slowly, hand threading through the hair at the back of his neck, fingertips brushing the undercut.
He kisses your collarbone. Then again. And again. Slower. Lower.
Your dress slips off one shoulder. His mouth follows the exposed skin like it’s his path home. His hands — warm, steady — trace your hips like he’s reminding himself you said yes.
“You have no idea what you do to me,” he murmurs, lips brushing over the top of your chest. “No idea how long I’ve wanted this.”
You laugh softly, breath catching. “You already have me.”
He leans back just enough to look at you — really look — and the way he stares makes you forget how to breathe.
Like you’re the only thing he’s ever believed in.
His thumb grazes your jaw, then your bottom lip, slow and reverent.
“I know. That’s what scares me.”
Before you can ask what he means, his mouth is on yours again — deeper this time, hungry but restrained, like he’s savoring it. His tongue sweeps over your bottom lip, and you open for him instinctively, your body already arching into him like it knows its place.
He lifts you without warning, hands gripping the backs of your thighs, walking you toward the bedroom like he’s done it a hundred times — but tonight it feels different.
Charged. Worshipful. Final, somehow.
He lays you down like you're made of glass.
Then he follows.
His weight settles between your legs, but it’s not heavy — it’s perfect. Warm. Familiar.
His kisses slow. Dragging. Like he wants to memorize how you taste.
You feel his hand slide down your side, slipping under your dress, skimming the inside of your thigh. Your breath hitches.
You shake your head, voice breathy. “Don’t stop.”
“Yeah?” His eyes darken. “You want me to take my time with you?”
You nod.
And he does.
The dress comes off inch by inch — not rushed, not desperate. Like unwrapping something sacred. His eyes never leave you, like if he blinks, he’ll lose you.
Your back arches when his mouth moves lower, slow kisses across your chest, your ribs, the dip of your stomach. His hands are warm and sure, holding your waist, smoothing over your skin like he’s trying to learn every inch by feel.
“You’re so fucking beautiful,” he whispers, voice almost shaky. “You always have been.”
Your chest clenches. Because the way he says it—so full of awe, of devotion—it sounds like he’s been waiting his whole life just to tell you.
And when he finally sinks into you, it’s not rushed. It’s slow. Deep. Everything.
You cling to him — arms around his shoulders, nails lightly digging into his back, legs wrapped tight around his waist — because it feels too good. Too full. Too much.
He moans into your neck, low and guttural, breath hot against your skin.
“This… you… this is it for me,” he murmurs, hips rolling deeper, like he can’t get close enough.
Your eyes blur. Your fingers tangle in his hair. You whisper his name like it’s a prayer.
Every stroke is steady. Intimate. The rhythm building slow, like he's not just trying to make you come—he’s trying to mark you. Remember you.
And when it finally crests—when you cry out and he groans your name like it’s carved into his lungs—he holds you through it.
Shaking. Pressing kisses to your cheek. Your jaw. The corner of your mouth.
He doesn’t move for a long time. Just breathes.
His forehead stays pressed to yours, his hand softly stroking your side.
“I love you, my wife.” he whispers.
-
“We’re done.”
You don’t yell. You don’t have to.
The silence between you and Jungkook splits open the second the words leave your mouth.
“We’re fucking done.”
He’s frozen where he stands — barefoot, sweatpants low on his hips, hoodie sleeves pushed to his elbows. He just got out of the shower. His hair’s still damp, clinging to his forehead. He looks… normal. Relaxed.
Like he’s not about to lose everything.
Like he has no fucking clue.
Your hand is trembling as you hold your phone out, the screen still glowing. His name is highlighted in the thread of messages, half-jokes and ego and the kind of careless boyish cruelty you never thought could come from him.
[Taehyung]: “Yo, you actually gonna do it?” [Jungkook]: “Already started. She’s cute. This’ll be easy.” [Namjoon]: “Bet you 200 she falls for you first.” [Jungkook]: “Watch me make her say I love you.”
Your voice trembles. “How long?”
He doesn’t answer.
You swallow, hard. “How long were they laughing at me?”
He takes a step forward and you step back, heart racing, breath caught.
“Y/N,” he says, quietly. “I can explain—”
“No. Don’t.” Your throat tightens so suddenly it almost chokes you. “You don’t get to look at me like that right now.”
He blinks like he’s been slapped.
“I wore your ring for two months,” you whisper. “Two months I’ve been waking up beside you, loving you, planning forever with you—while your friends texted you behind my back, congratulating you for playing me.”
“It wasn’t like that—”
“Then what was it?” The crack in your voice finally splits open. “What the fuck was I to you, Jungkook? Some prize? A challenge?”
He flinches like it physically hurts.
“It started as a dare, we were young,” he says, voice low, ashamed. “I was drunk. It was stupid. But the second I actually got to know you—”
“Stop.”
“—I fell so fucking hard, Y/N.”
“Stop.” Your eyes sting, but you refuse to cry in front of him. “Don’t stand there and feed me that now. Not when the only reason you ever spoke to me was because someone dared you to.”
He looks like he’s falling apart.
You wonder if he feels it the way you do—like the air’s been punched out of your lungs. Like your body’s full of splinters, breaking from the inside out.
“You were never a bet to me,” he says softly. “Not once I knew you.”
You almost laugh. It comes out broken.
“Then why didn’t you tell me?”
He opens his mouth.
Closes it.
You take a shaky step back, the ring suddenly burning on your finger.
“You had so many chances, Jungkook. We dated for two fucking years, you proposed two months ago. You could’ve told me after our first date. After the first time we slept together. After the night you held me when I cried about my mom. You could’ve told me before you proposed.”
“I was scared,” he admits, voice breaking. “I knew I’d lose you.”
“Good.”
His eyes lift to yours—glassy, wounded.
You don’t care.
“I trusted you,” you whisper. “With everything. My body, my heart, my life. And you… you humiliated me.”
His breathing hitches. His hand twitches like he wants to reach for you, but he doesn’t. Can’t.
“You’re not who I thought you were.”
“I am,” he says quickly. “I am. You know me better than anyone—”
“No, Jungkook.” You shake your head, blinking back tears. “I knew the version of you you let me see. I never knew this.”
Silence stretches between you, unbearable and sharp.
You slide the ring off your finger. Slowly. Like peeling off a layer of skin.
His eyes drop to your hand.
“No,” he breathes. “Don’t—”
You step forward. Place the ring on the counter. Not thrown. Not dramatic. Just... final.
“I was going to marry you,” you whisper. “I wanted to build a life with you.”
Tears slip down your cheek. You don’t wipe them.
“I would’ve given you everything.”
Jungkook’s voice is raw when he speaks. “You still can.”
You shake your head once, then again. Firmer.
“I’ll never know what was real,” you say. “I’ll never know if you looked at me like that because you loved me—or because you knew you’d already won.”
He breaks then.
Takes a step forward like he can’t stay still anymore, his voice cracking open.
“You were never a game to me.”
“But I was a joke to you once,” you whisper. “And that’s enough.”
His face crumples. “Please don’t leave.”
“I already did.”
You grab your bag. Sling it over your shoulder.
His feet move before he can stop himself. “Y/N, please. Baby—”
“Don’t call me that.”
He freezes.
You reach for the doorknob with trembling hands.
And then—because you can’t help it—you turn back one last time.
He looks ruined.
Hands limp at his sides. Eyes red. Chest rising too fast like he’s barely breathing.
He whispers your name like it’s the last thing he has.
You whisper back, barely audible—
“Goodbye.”
Then you walk out.
And this time… he doesn’t follow. Because he knows he lost you the second he lied.
-
[2 years later]
It’s warm inside the café.
Not the cloying kind—just soft. Familiar. The kind that seeps into your bones and tells your chest to stop bracing so hard. The kind of warm that smells like cinnamon and vanilla, where the hum of espresso machines mixes with quiet music and the occasional clink of mugs.
You’re sitting at a window table, one hand wrapped around a latte, the other steadying Jiho as he bounces lightly in your lap. He’s sticky with syrup and joy, a piece of pancake still clutched in one tiny fist. His laughter bubbles up when your boyfriend leans in and makes a quiet, ridiculous face just for him.
And you laugh too. Soft. Full. Real.
Your boyfriend has been good to you. Patient, steady, kind. He doesn’t push. He never tried to fill shoes that weren’t his to wear. He just showed up and stayed. And when you finally let him in, he didn’t treat your past like baggage. He treated it like part of the road that led you here.
So yeah, mornings like this? They feel okay. Safe.
Until the bell above the door rings.
You hear it, but you don’t look up right away. You’re busy wiping syrup off Jiho’s chin with a napkin, murmuring a quiet, “Hold still, baby,” while he wriggles.
And then you feel it.
Not just a presence. A rupture.
Your breath catches before you even know why.
You glance up.
And everything stops.
Jungkook walks into the café like a memory you weren’t ready for.
He’s with Taehyung. Laughing at something he says. But the moment he sees you, his body goes still. His expression falls apart in real time. And then his eyes drop—to Jiho.
To your son.
His son.
You feel the air punch out of your lungs.
He looks older. Bulkier. His hair is longer now, a little curl tucked behind his ear. He wears a dark hoodie, sleeves pushed up, exposing familiar tattoos that used to trace your skin. He looks…
Ruined. But whole in a new way. A version of him you don’t recognize. One that never held your hand in the middle of the night or whispered promises against your spine.
“You okay?” your boyfriend asks, his voice cutting softly through the tension.
You don’t answer at first.
Jungkook is still staring. At Jiho. Then at you. And there’s something in his expression that’s not shock anymore.
It’s betrayal.
“He’s getting fussy,” you murmur, eyes still fixed on Jungkook. “Can you take him to the car? I’ll just run to the bathroom and meet you there.”
Your boyfriend nods without hesitation, presses a kiss to your temple, and lifts Jiho easily into his arms. Jiho yawns and rests his head on his shoulder, thumb slipping into his mouth.
You can feel Jungkook’s stare as they leave.
You rise. Walk past him without looking.
The bathroom is down a narrow hall, dimly lit. You lock the door behind you and grip the sink until your knuckles ache.
You breathe.
In.
Out.
You rinse your hands slowly, as if that could wash off the past year.
And when you open the door—he’s there.
"Cheater." Leaning against the wall, arms crossed, jaw clenched.
“You were mad at me this whole time,” Jungkook says, low and cold, “but you were out here carrying some other guy’s fucking baby?”
Your heart twists.
He laughs, humorless. “That’s rich, Y/N. You didn’t want me, but you moved on just fine, didn’t you?”
You stare at him. Silent.
The hallway feels like it’s shrinking.
“I don’t owe you anything.”
“You don’t think I deserved to know?”
“Did I deserve to be a bet?”
That shuts him up.
You shake your head, eyes burning.
“I was pregnant when I left,” you whisper. “I didn’t even know it yet. I found out alone. I stayed alone. I gave birth alone. I raised him—your son—alone.”
Jungkook goes pale.
He looks stunned. Pale. A man watching the earth split under his feet.
His mouth opens once. Then closes.
“Y/N…”
You step back.
“And yeah, I moved on,” you breathe. “Because I had to. Because loving you almost destroyed me. Because trusting you did destroy me.”
His hands shake. His chest rises like it hurts to breathe.
“I would’ve been there.”
“Would you?” you whisper. “You lied every day for months, Jungkook. I don’t know what part of you was ever real.”
He swallows, eyes desperate now. “All of it. I loved you. I still—”
You cut him off with a cold laugh. Final. Solid. Unforgiving.
“Then you should’ve fought harder.”
There’s silence. Dense. Trembling.
“His name is Jiho,” you say flatly. “He’s brilliant. He has a real dad now. Someone who shows up, every day, no matter what. Someone who didn’t need to be biologically connected to love him better than you ever could.”
Jungkook flinches.
You feel nothing.
You take a step closer, voice low and sharp.
“You want a role in his life?”
He nods slowly. Hope flickers behind his eyes.
You smile.
It doesn’t reach your eyes.
“Too fucking bad.”
And then you walk.
You don’t look back.
Let him break.
Let him wonder.
Let him live with what he lost.
Because you have a son.
And a man who never made your love a game.
And a life you built from the ashes he left behind.
[jungkook pov]
Jungkook doesn’t remember how many shots it takes before the guilt finally numbs.
He doesn’t feel the booth beneath him or the sticky table under his forearms. Just the pressure in his throat—the kind that burns more than the liquor. The kind that doesn’t let go.
“She said his name is Jiho.”
His voice is rough. Slurred, but not from the alcohol. From everything else.
“He’s brilliant. Got a smart mouth. Big eyes. My fucking eyes.”
Taehyung doesn’t say anything. He just watches him from across the table, jaw tight.
“She didn’t need to say it,” Jungkook mutters. “I knew the second I looked at him. That’s my kid.”
Yoongi leans back in his seat, arms crossed. Hoseok twirls his empty glass, saying nothing.
“She told me he has a real dad now.” Jungkook laughs, but it’s hollow. “Said he shows up. Loves him better than I ever could. Said he doesn’t need to be blood to be his father.”
The table goes quiet. No one meets his eyes.
“She meant it,” Jungkook breathes. “Every word.”
Taehyung finally speaks. “What did you expect?”
“I don’t know. Anger. Screaming. Anything but that fucking smile she gave him.”
Jungkook rubs his hands over his face, then through his hair, like he’s trying to scrub the memory off his skin.
“She looked happy. Safe. Not because of me. In spite of me.”
“You hurt her,” Hoseok says, careful but blunt. “You don’t get to be surprised she moved on.”
“I’m not,” Jungkook snaps. “I’m not surprised. I’m—” He stops, breath catching.
“I’m destroyed.”
The word hangs there. Honest. Raw.
Yoongi taps a finger on the table. “You said you didn’t know she was pregnant.”
“I didn’t,” Jungkook growls. “I didn’t fucking know. If I did—God—do you think I would've let her go? Let her raise him alone?”
Taehyung’s voice is low. “Doesn’t change what you did before.”
Jungkook looks up slowly. “I never meant to fall in love with her.”
“Yeah,” Yoongi mutters. “That’s kind of the problem.”
The silence turns heavier.
“She's a mom now,” Taehyung finally says. “And you? You’re the guy who made her a dare.”
Jungkook flinches.
“No mother worth a damn is gonna risk her child’s safety—or her own peace—on a man who turned her love into a joke.”
“I know,” Jungkook whispers.
“You say you want to be there for Jiho,” Hoseok says, “but you’re not the one who decides anymore. She does.”
“I’m not trying to take him,” Jungkook says hoarsely. “I just—I want to know him. I want him to know me.”
“He has a dad,” Taehyung says gently but firmly. “The one who stayed.”
Jungkook exhales sharply. His head drops into his hands.
“She said I couldn’t love him better. And maybe she’s right. Maybe I don’t deserve the chance.”
No one replies.
“I just want to try.”
The words leave him in a whisper. Barely there. But the silence that follows feels deafening.
No one answers.
Taehyung just stares at him like he’s already bracing for impact.
And maybe Jungkook was hoping for something—anything—a crack of sympathy, a nod, a sign that someone still believed in him. That he wasn’t completely fucking ruined.
But there’s nothing.
Only the echo of his own voice, pathetic and hollow.
And that’s what finally makes him snap.
He shoves the chair back so hard it topples. Kicks it across the floor without thinking. Glass clinks and shatters as a bottle rolls off the table and explodes near the wall. Hoseok jolts up, trying to steady him, but Jungkook shoves him off with a harsh, “Don’t fucking touch me!”
His breathing turns ragged, chest heaving as he grips the edge of the booth like it’s the only thing keeping him grounded.
“She didn’t even give me a chance,” he spits, venom coating every word. “She just looked at me like I was nothing. Like I was the fucking villain.”
“Jungkook—” Taehyung tries, but he’s not listening.
“She never even told me. She made that choice for me. Took him away from me before I even knew he existed.”
He pounds his fist into the table—once, twice—until his knuckles split open. Blood pools against the cracked wood. He doesn’t even flinch.
Yoongi stands up slowly. “You’re scaring people.”
“I don’t give a fuck,” Jungkook growls. “I’m already a ghost in my own life. What’s one more mess?”
Taehyung’s voice is quiet but firm. “You’re not helping anyone like this. Least of all yourself.”
“I wasn’t trying to help myself!” Jungkook shouts, eyes wild. “I just wanted to try. I wanted to be something—to someone. To him.”
He sways slightly, blood dripping down his hand, but he doesn’t notice. His eyes are glassy now, somewhere between fury and devastation.
“I didn’t ask to fall in love with her. I didn’t ask to lose her. But I did. And I lost him too.”
He finally sinks back into the booth, shoulders sagging like the fight’s drained out of him all at once.
“I’m not asking her to forgive me,” he whispers. “But she doesn’t get to erase me either. That’s my son.”
Nobody speaks.
The bar is quiet around them. Tense. Distant music playing beneath the weight of everything unspoken.
Taehyung finally breaks the silence.
“You’re bleeding.”
Jungkook looks down at his hand, broken skin and bruised knuckles.
He just laughs.
-
It’s almost midnight.
The apartment is still—blanketed in that soft kind of silence that only exists when the world’s asleep. Jiho is down for the night, his tiny breaths steady through the baby monitor on the table. The lights are low. My tea’s cold. Cassi’s face lights up the screen of my laptop, her voice a soothing constant in the quiet.
“So this girl—hand to God—she told her man, ‘If he wanted to, he would.’ And then this man shows up outside her job with a damn sign.”
I laugh into my cup. “A sign?”
“A literal cardboard sign. In public.”
“Okay, fine. That’s cute.”
"Hm, you have that look again."
"What look?"
“The one where you pretend you’re not thinking about him.”
I roll my eyes. “I’m not.”
“Sure,” she drawls, then leans closer to the camera. “Bet he’s still hot. I wonder if he’s single.”
I laugh. “Wanna stalk him?”
“Don’t tempt me.” Her fingers are already moving. “What was his full @ again?”
I try to hide my grin. “You’re horrible.”
“Got him,” she says triumphantly. A second later, a notification pops up. Cassi’s just sent me his profile.
I don’t open it.
Not yet.
Instead, I lean back, feeling the air shift. That weird, aching weight that creeps in when you let a memory hang too long.
Cassi notices. “Hey,” she says gently. “You okay?”
Before I can answer, the door opens.
The lock clicks.
I freeze. Cassi’s expression sharpens. “Is that him?”
I nod and quickly end the call. “I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”
The apartment door creaks open. Han steps inside—jacket askew, smelling like beer and sweat and the kind of cheap cologne that clings to your skin for hours. His smile is crooked, lazy. A little drunk.
“Baby,” he calls out, dropping his keys to the counter, “you’re still up?”
“Couldn’t sleep.”
He stumbles over and drops onto the couch beside me, pulling me into his lap without waiting. He’s clingy—hands all over me, breath hot against my neck.
“I missed you tonight,” he says, lips grazing my cheek. “Was thinking about you the whole time.”
“You smell like beer.”
“I had a few.”
His fingers start trailing down my side. I pull away.
“Han, Jiho’s sleeping.”
“Let him sleep. I want you.”
“I’m tired.”
He stills. Then pulls back slightly to glance at the screen I didn’t have time to close. The Google tab is open again.
His eyes narrow.
“What’s this?”
I move to shut the laptop, but he snatches it first. Reads the screen.
His voice sharpens. “You’re looking up his shit?”
“It was nothing.”
“You miss him?”
“No.”
“Bullshit.”
He stands abruptly, sending the laptop sliding off the couch.
“I go out for a few drinks and come home to this? You—still thinking about that fucker who left you?”
I rise to my feet. “Han, you’re drunk.”
He steps closer. “You want him again? That it?”
“I didn’t say that.”
“But you’re thinking it.”
“No, I’m not—”
He grabs my wrist hard.
“You were mine,” he growls. “I took care of you. Took care of your kid. And you’re still out here googling your ex like some pathetic little girl.”
“Han,” I whisper. “Let go.”
But he doesn’t. His grip tightens.
And then he slaps me.
Hard.
The sound cracks through the room.
My head jerks sideways. My cheek stings. My ears ring.
I freeze.
He doesn’t.
He lunges again, fists balled, grabbing my shoulders now, shaking me like I’m the problem. Like I’m the one who ruined him.
“You ungrateful bitch,” he snarls. “I fed him. I stayed. And you still look at me like I’m not good enough.”
I cry out as his knuckles graze my collarbone.
“Please—stop—”
But he won’t.
He doesn’t even hesitate this time.
I shove him back with everything in me and sprint for Jiho’s room.
My heart is slamming in my chest.
I grab Jiho—still half asleep, clinging to my shirt—and the baby monitor. I don’t even grab shoes.
Han’s shouting behind me, but I don’t listen. I don’t stop.
I bolt.
Out the door.
Down the stairs.
Into the night.
It’s almost 2 a.m.
I’m sitting on a metal bench outside a shuttered pharmacy, cold biting through the thin fabric of Jiho’s blanket, my coat, my skin—everything.
He won’t stop crying.
His little hands keep clawing at my chest, his body trembling as I hold him tighter and tighter, whispering, “I know, baby, I know,” even though nothing I do is helping.
He’s cold.
I’m cold.
And everything is closed.
I tried every door. The gas station. The diner. Even knocked on the back entrance of a convenience store until my hands went numb.
No one answered.
I pull him tighter into my chest. Try to rub warmth into his back, over and over, like friction and desperation will be enough to make him stop shaking.
“I’m so sorry,” I whisper, rocking him slightly, even though I know it’s not enough. “I didn’t mean to bring you out here. I didn’t mean for any of this—”
My voice cracks before I can finish.
Jiho’s sobs aren’t the loud kind. They’re tired, hoarse, hiccupping. The kind that gut you. The kind that sound like trust breaking down.
And I’m failing him.
I’m failing my baby.
I try not to cry. I really do. But my eyes are stinging so hard I can’t see, and my throat’s so tight I can’t breathe.
I press my lips to his forehead. He’s too cold. His skin is damp with sweat and tears.
“Please stop crying,” I whisper, like begging him will undo everything. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m so fucking sorry.”
I don’t know what to do.
I don’t know where to go.
Everyone I thought I could call—Cassi, gone. My old neighbor, asleep. Family? Not an option. I burned that bridge when I chose Han. I told myself I could fix him. I told myself Jiho would never see the worst of him.
I lied.
I bounce Jiho lightly in my arms, trying to calm him down even though I’m shaking just as badly.
He coughs once. Shudders again.
Something cracks inside me.
I pull out my phone. My hands are shaking so badly I nearly drop it. I scroll. Scroll again. I open every app like something magic might be waiting there—someone, anyone—who could help.
But there’s no one.
And then… I don’t know why I think of it. I just do.
That stupid restaurant name. Le Morte.
The place he made me promise we’d build together.
My thumb hovers over the browser.
I shouldn’t.
I swore I’d never give him another chance to hurt me.
But Jiho’s still crying. His whole body trembling against mine.
And I have nothing left.
I type the name.
The website loads. I don’t read it. I just find the number.
I hit “Call.”
It rings.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
I almost hang up.
Then—
“Le Morte.”
His voice is deeper than I remember. Quieter. But still him. Still Jungkook.
I don’t say anything.
"Hello?" A pause. A faint inhale. Then again, softer this time— "...Hello?" The sound of his voice breaks something open.
My throat caves in on itself. I try to speak, but all that comes out is a choke—sharp, ugly, aching.
I press the phone tighter to my ear, like that could steady my hands, like that could hold me up.
Another gasp escapes me. “I… I don’t…”
“Y/N?” His voice shifts. Urgent. Gentle. “Is that you?”
"Bab—" He stops himself. Breathes out slow. Then, careful and quiet: “Y/N, I need you to breathe. Just breathe for me, okay? I can’t help if I can’t understand you. Please—just tell me where you are.”
I blink, but everything’s a blur—wet and trembling and spinning. Jiho’s still crying against me, his little sobs going straight through my chest like wire.
“I don’t know—” My voice breaks. “I didn’t know who else to call. I’m sorry, I’m sorry—”
“Hey. Hey, stop.”
His tone softens again, that low warmth I haven’t heard in two years, like balm against an open wound. “I’m glad you called me. It’s okay, I promise it’s okay. Just tell me where you are. Anything you see around you. Anything, Y/N.”
I look around wildly, heart clawing at my ribs. “Pharmacy. Near… near the intersection by the overpass, across from—there’s a bus stop. Metal bench. I—he’s so cold, Jungkook. He won’t stop crying and I didn’t mean to bring him out I just—”
“Okay. Okay, I know where that is. That’s enough. I’m coming. Right now. Don’t hang up, alright?”
I nod, even though he can’t see me. “Okay.”
“I want you to hold Jiho just like you are. Keep your cheek against his. I’m getting in my car now. I’ll talk to you the whole way.”
His voice is quieter now. Thicker.
“I’ll be there soon. Just hold on for me. Please.”
And for the first time in hours—maybe longer—I let myself cry. Really cry. The kind that comes from somewhere deep. Not panic. Not frustration.
Just grief.
Because despite everything—despite the hurt, the betrayal, the years apart—I still remember what it felt like to be safe in his voice.
-
The headlights cut through the dark like a promise.
I hear the tires before I see them—skidding slightly on wet pavement as the car pulls up to the curb. The engine dies, and the world goes quiet again except for Jiho’s whimpers, quieter now, fading into hiccups against my chest.
The door swings open.
Footsteps.
He’s still in his suit.
The one from Le Morte. Midnight black, sleek lapels catching what little light bleeds from the streetlamp above. His tie’s undone. Hair slightly windblown like he ran the second he got my call.
He doesn’t say anything.
Not at first.
Just stands there for a beat, eyes scanning me—Jiho pressed into my chest, my tear-streaked face, the way I’m shaking like my whole body’s trying to hold back a scream.
Then he moves.
His steps are fast but careful, like he’s afraid if he startles me, I’ll vanish.
He shrugs off the suit jacket and drops to his knees in front of us.
He drapes the coat around Jiho’s small frame, then pulls it over my shoulders too, like he’s trying to shield both of us at once. His hands linger there for a moment. Warm. Steady. Familiar.
My body caves forward.
I don’t mean to. I don’t even think. I just fold into him, and he catches us like he never stopped being mine.
I sob into his shoulder. Gasping, messy, completely undone.
Jiho clings tighter to me, still crying, but quieter now—like he knows something’s shifted.
Jungkook wraps his arms around both of us.
He doesn’t ask anything.
He just holds on.
Tight.
One hand cups the back of my head, the other bracing Jiho’s trembling spine.
“I’ve got you,” he whispers, voice cracking. “I’ve got you. You’re okay. You’re okay now.”
I want to tell him he’s wrong. That nothing’s okay. That I’m still broken, still afraid, still so angry.
But all I do is cry harder.
And he lets me.
His own breath stutters against my cheek, but he doesn’t pull away. Doesn’t ask for answers.
He just holds me like he never wants to let go again.
-
I don’t know how long we stay like that. On the cold pavement. Wrapped in the scent of him—cologne and city air and something achingly familiar.
Jiho’s hiccups start to slow. His small hand curls into the front of Jungkook’s shirt, and for a second, Jungkook stops breathing altogether. His fingers twitch slightly against Jiho’s back, like he doesn’t know if he’s allowed to react.
But Jiho doesn’t let go.
So Jungkook exhales. Slowly. And wraps both arms around us again.
“I didn’t know who else to call,” I whisper eventually. My voice is raw. Shaky. “I didn’t want to call you.”
“I know.”
He gives a small nod, like he’s scared saying anything will push me away. “But you remembered Le Morte.”
I pull back just enough to look at him. His face is shadowed, lit only by the flickering streetlamp, but I see it—every crack. Every line.
His jaw is clenched. His eyes are red. Not from the cold.
He’s hurting too.
“Why did you come?” I whisper. “You could’ve ignored it. You could’ve sent someone else. You could’ve—”
“I would’ve crawled through fire to get to you.”
I suck in a breath. My lip trembles.
“I don’t know what I’m doing,” I admit, barely getting the words out. “I don’t know where to go. I don’t even know how I got here. I just—he hit me, Jungkook. He—he hit me and Jiho saw.”
His whole body tenses. His jaw ticks so hard I flinch, and he notices—immediately softening.
“I’m not him,” he says low. “I swear to God, I’m not him. But if you need me to leave after this, I will. I’ll go. Just tell me where you want to be, and I’ll get you there safe. That’s all I care about right now.”
I look down at Jiho. His head is resting on my shoulder again. One hand fisting the fabric of Jungkook’s coat. His cheeks are pink from the cold, but his eyes are fluttering shut. He’s exhausted.
“Can we go somewhere warm?” I ask. “Just…for tonight.”
Jungkook doesn’t hesitate.
“Yeah, baby.”
I freeze.
He sees it—hears it—and his voice softens again.
“I mean—Y/N. Yeah. Let’s get you warm.”
He rises carefully, lifting Jiho from my arms without waking him. He holds him so securely, like he’s done it a hundred times, and my chest twists.
I stand too, legs weak. Jungkook watches me closely, like he’s waiting for me to collapse again. He keeps an arm around me as we walk toward the car waiting by the curb.
He opens the back door, gently places Jiho in the seat, then looks back at me.
“You sit with him. I’ll drive.”
And just like that, I nod.
Because for the first time in a long time— I believe him. We’re safe.
-
He places Jiho in the backseat, his hands steady but his jaw locked so tight it looks like it might shatter.
When he closes the door and turns to me, I expect him to say something—anything.
But he doesn’t.
Not at first.
He just stares.
At me.
His eyes flick over my face, pausing on the bruises beneath my makeup, the swelling just below my eye. My cracked lip. My trembling fingers still clutching the edge of his coat.
His whole body shakes as he exhales through his nose.
And then he’s in front of me—closer than I can brace for.
His hands reach out, hesitating for a breath before they find my cheeks, the pads of his thumbs ghosting over my skin like I might disappear. His brows are drawn so tight, his mouth pressed in fury, but his touch… God.
His touch is gentle.
Too gentle.
He wipes under my eyes with trembling fingers.
He swallows hard, like the words taste like poison. His thumb keeps brushing under my eye, trying to clean away the tears that won’t stop falling. His forehead leans close, almost touching mine, his breath shaky.
“You have no idea,” he whispers, voice low, “what it did to me to hear your voice like that.”
I blink up at him. My knees feel hollow.
“You were crying. And Jiho was crying. And I wasn’t there—again."
“Tell me where he is,” he whispers. “Just tell me where.”
“Jungkook—”
“No,” he says, voice still soft, but steel beneath. “You don’t get to show up shaking and scared, with bruises on your face and tears in your eyes, and expect me not to burn the fucking world down.”
His voice falters at the end. His hands drop, then fist at his sides.
“I didn’t come to fall into you again,” I say quietly. “I came because I had no one left. That doesn’t mean I—”
“I know,” he cuts in, eyes closing for a second like he’s steadying himself. “But I’m not strong enough to pretend it doesn’t mean anything.”
Silence lingers.
The wind cuts past us, but he steps in again, cupping the back of my head, his palm warm against my scalp. His other arm wraps around me slowly—cautiously—like he’s waiting for me to pull away.
I don’t.
I can’t.
He holds me against his chest like I’m glass.
“I should’ve been there,” he whispers into my hair. “All along. Through everything.”
I cry harder.
Because despite everything I told myself— Despite the time, the pain, the silence—
A part of me never stopped wishing he had been.
-
The morning light slips through the blinds in pale streaks, soft and almost kind, like it doesn’t know how much pain this room has held overnight. I haven’t moved much. I’ve been sitting on the edge of the bed for almost an hour, staring at the carpet, trying to pretend my stomach isn’t hollow, that my lungs aren’t tight, that the world hasn’t shifted underneath me again.
Jiho is asleep in the hotel crib across the room—warm, safe, breathing steady. Jungkook insisted we take the king bed, and he spent the night on the armchair, half-awake, shirt wrinkled, jaw locked. He left early this morning, and for a moment, I thought he wasn’t coming back.
But the door opens.
My shoulders jump before I can stop them.
“It’s just me,” he says, voice low, careful. I don’t turn around. I just listen to the soft thud of his shoes as he steps inside.
“I brought breakfast.”
I hear the tray set down on the small table. Hear the lids lifting, the faint hiss of steam rising into the quiet. I don’t move. I can’t.
“You didn’t have to,” I murmur.
“I wanted to.”
His voice is closer now. I feel him looking at me, the silence stretching. I finally glance up.
He looks… tired. The same white button-down from last night, sleeves pushed up. No jacket. Dark slacks, black watch. His hair is messy, like he’s run his hands through it a thousand times since the sun came up.
I can’t hold his gaze.
He sits down slowly, arms resting on his knees. He doesn’t touch me. Doesn’t push. But his voice cuts through everything anyway.
“Why him?”
I freeze.
“Why Han?” he says again, quieter now. “What made you pick him? Stay with him? Let him around Jiho?”
I feel the sting in my eyes before I even try to speak.
“I thought I didn’t owe you that.”
“You don’t.” His voice catches. “But I need to know. Because last night you looked like you were breaking. And then you called me.”
I don’t answer.
“I thought you hated me,” he whispers.
I close my eyes. “I did.”
His breath catches.
“But I didn’t have anyone else.”
That admission burns worse than anything.
He doesn’t speak right away. And when he does, it’s so quiet I almost miss it.
“I’m glad you called me.”
I blink hard.
“And don’t look at me like that,” he says gently, like he can read every line of guilt on my face. “I know you feel guilty. I know you think you shouldn’t have. But Jiho’s my son. And you’re his mother.”
He stands, steps closer.
“I wanted to do this. I want to be here. Don’t be guilty.”
His voice cracks. Just barely.
“I wanted to protect you.”
The room feels too small. My throat feels too tight. I can’t breathe with all this silence pressing on me.
When he reaches for me, I let him. His hand touches my cheek, his thumb brushing beneath my eye—and I realize I’m crying again.
His palm is warm. Steady.
“You don’t have to be alone anymore,” he says.
And I break.
I lean into him, and he catches me, arms wrapping around me like a shelter I never thought I’d need again. He holds me tight—tight like he doesn’t want to let go, tight like he’s afraid if he does, I’ll disappear again.
My hands clutch his shirt, and his lips brush my hair.
“I’m sorry,” I whisper.
“No,” he breathes, pressing his forehead to mine. “You don’t have to say that. Not right now.”
And before I can think—before guilt or pride can pull me back—I lift my face and kiss him.
It’s slow. Raw. Desperate. Like everything we’ve buried is clawing its way back to the surface.
His hand cradles the back of my neck, his breath shuddering.
He kisses me like he’s been waiting years for this.
And for once… I let him.
REBLOG4AKISS
HEESEUNG
your boyfriend feels like he is slowly losing all sense of sanity. as he peeks over at you standing in front of the bathrooms mirror— to busy getting yourself dolled up to merely notice a sign of his presence— he feels his mind slipping away from his fingers.
his leg is bouncing, at the same rate as his heartbeat. he bites down his lower lip, presses it against the higher one and tries to drift his eyes away from your lipstick brushing over your mouth. but he still wants it, he still wants to kiss you that bad.
the sound of his feet against the floor makes you turn your attention to his direction. he looks at you like he knows you are going to deny him again— which is true.
“go away,” you tell him with a laugh but he doesn’t listen. instead, he stops a few centimeters away from you and under your confused gaze, he starts to lower himself. “what are you doing?”
he is soon all the way down to his knees, with his hands clasped against one another in a way that reminds one of a prayer. he looks up at you with such wide bambi like eyes that you can’t help but laugh in disbelief, “pretty girl please,” he starts, voice pleading. “let me give you one kiss before you leave.”
you stay silent as heeseung begs a little more for a the smallest sign of affection. then you giggle as you say, “heeseung, get up,” and he listens. he steps closer to you, who wraps your arms around his neck. your lip combo can be ruined after all, “you are so stupid.”
JAY
the tension in the house welcomes your boyfriend the second his steps inside. it sends chills from the top of his nape down down to his spine. suddenly, his cravat is a little bit too tight around his neck and his hands are getting sweaty.
with his fingers around his cravat, making in a little bit more loose, he walks towards where you could be. “princess,” he calls out for you, following the light that erupts from the kitchen. you didn’t come open the door for him. “i’m home.”
jay likes to think that he didn’t hear your answer and that you didn’t ignore his greeting— but he knows better.
you don’t even grace him with a glance but his breath is still stolen by the sight of you. the smell of your conditioner took all over the kitchen and your skin glows due to the products of your cherished skin care routine. his eyes drags all over your pretty pajamas down to your shorts and your bare legs.
he gets closer to you, waiting for you to give him a little bit of attention. he sighs when you don’t, “can you at least look at me?” he feels like talking to a wall.
it feels like it’s a punishment for coming home too late. now he can’t kiss his pretty lover but he knows how to make things a little better.
and because jay is a real man who doesn’t mind being a little pathetic for his girlfriend, he gets on his knees in his expensive suit and takes your hands in his.
“princess, i’m sorry,” he says as he scoots closer. his puts your hands on his shoulders and puts his on your hips. he can’t help but find the way you furrow your brows extremely hot. “i’ll make it up to you, i promise.”
JAKE
he comes back home red in the face and teary eyed. due to the alcohol running in his system, he stumbles over every single furniture of the house. in the empty hall, he slurs your name in an attempt to call out for you.
you rush to him, “jake, are you okay?” you ask, your ends on his shoulders as he almost stumbles over his own feet. he takes him some time to realize that you are here, standing right in front of him.
his eyes shines even more when he looks at you. you can see your reflection in his growing tears, “my love,” his voice his shaky and wobbly. he doesn’t say anything more— only collapsing his body against yours.
his strong arms hold you firmly. he hides his face in your neck. you can swear that he starts to cry, even sobs a little from time to time while you hug him back. “what happened?”
he doesn’t respond but his grip on your becomes lighter and you feel is body getting lamb, as if he was melting against your warmth. he slides down until he is in front of your feet, on his knees.
he embraces your waist and rests his cheek against your stomach, “i missed you,” he sniffles. he tightens his embrace, “i missed you a lot.”
you pat the back of his head, “i missed you too.”
SUNGHOON
“hey, you,” the tall man says after you open the door. he presents himself in a white tank top and black sweatpants. there is a big bag hoppped over his shoulder, indicating that he just came back from the gym.
you get on your tiptoes to kiss him as a greeting. then you go back on your feet properly and scan his buff form with a smile, “why do you but the gym everyday?” you ask, resting your arms on his naked arms. you squeeze his biceps. “you are already jacked.”
he smiles as you touch him. “are you feeling yourself?” well, yes. his question doesn’t make you stop and you keep on torturing his arms for a while before having pity for your boyfriend.
you step backwards to let him in. he steps closer to you, though, without closing the door behind him. he puts his large back on the floor, “i hit the gym just so i can—” he starts as he kneels in front of you.
sunghoon looks like a prince when he is down there, and that makes your heart skip a bit when your eyes lock with his. the look in his eyes and his goddamn smirk is anything but trustworthy.
“what are you doing?” you laugh nervously. then, you yelp when he hugs your thighs and hops you over his shoulder. as he starts to get up, you beat his back weakly, “put me down!”
he doesn’t. instead, he continues to talk while turning around and closing the door behind him, “—do that.”
SUNOO
“i don’t know,” you start hesitantly as you let yourself fall into the couch behind you. you bite your lower lip— glistening with your lipgloss— slightly before continuing, “i don’t like my face these days.”
your boyfriend can’t help but let a grimace creep on his face. not being your worries doesn’t matter, but because he think they don’t make sense. when he looks at you, all dressed up and glowing from head to toes, he is in disbelief.
“you’re beautiful,” he tells you before thinking. and he wonders, quietly, how anyone else can say otherwise. how can someone so gorgeous fail to see her own beauty?
you huff, clearly trying yet failing to believe his words. “thank you,” your fingers tuck a hair strand behind your ear.
for a few seconds you are too busy avoiding his eyes and fidgeting with your fingers to notice that he has got closer to you. he stands in front of you, and when you finally notice, you are too embarrassed to look up.
he decides to find another way. he gets his knees on the floor, and cup your face tenderly. “look at me,” he smiles when you do. “you are so beautiful that you got a man on his knees for you, who else can say that?”
he brings your face closer to his own. he kisses your forehead while you laugh, then your nose, your cheeks until whispering against your mouth, “you are gorgeous, okay?”
he doesn’t let you go until you nod weakly.
JUNGWON
if there is one person who is a pain to take care of, it’s definitely your boyfriend.
you try to push him away off of you, but he groans and has the audacity to rearrange his position. “jungwon,” he whines when you try to get him off of you again. it’s not like you want to get up for the fun of it, or only because you can’t feel your body anymore, “i need to go buy you medication.”
he doesn’t budge. for a moment, you want to give up and let yourself be swallowed by the mattressunder you. but if he doesn’t take medication, he will be sick, even more annoying than usual. you tickle his stomach, he yelps a laugh. you take the advantage of his weakness to escape.
“no,” he says when you are already out of the bed. he grips into your arm but he is too weak to fight against your strength. your wrist slips away from his fingers, his torso out of the bed. he decides to get up completely and follow you.
“stay away,” you tell while you put your shoes on.
“why do you hate me?” he coughs in despair. then, he literally falls down to his knees. you hand flies to your mouth as he pleads, “i don’t need medication, i need you.”
you stay still for a few seconds. flabbergasted and amused by his antics, you put on your jacket, still. “i love you,” the man is still on his knees when you open the door. “please be normal when i come back.”
RIKI
“you cheated!” he exclaims, yanking his controller in the empty space next to him. he falls back against the couch’s backseat. his faces the ceiling, slowly processing his defeat, as you jump on the couch.
his allegations doesn’t phase you at all: how can anyone cheat at mario kart? perhaps, you did push him with your shoulder from time to time, but he did it back. “i won!” you remind him, cheerful. you don’t hide your mean smile when you continue, “get on your knees now.”
your boyfriend’s large hands fall to his thighs. he sends you a look that clearly asks you if you are being serious right now. “oh, come on,” you giggle at both him and the sight on the television. princess peach is happy to be first place, it seems. “it was part of the bet.”
riki sighs, slowly getting in up. he steps in front of you, “do you really want me to?” he laughs at how happily you nod to give him an answer.
slowly, he lowers himself. he is still tall, even when he is so prettily set on his knees. with a small grin, he looks up at you, “you are the only princess ever,” his eyes follow you when you sit down. “and i would do anything for you,” there is a small pause where he takes a deep breath, “really. now gimme a kiss.”
when such a beautiful man is on his knees asking for a kiss, it’s your job to make his wish come true.
분지 ܃ i hope you enjoyed this longer work <3
So… Neglect play. Heavy on the hear me out, guys pls (WAIT WHY IS THIS GIVING PATHETIC YANDERE HUH)
Thinking about a huge brat who loves to run his mouth and fights you on everything you do. No matter how often you’d punish him, he just doesn’t stop. It’s part of his charm, that he’s so stubborn, which led to you getting a little creative with ways to punish him.
“Don’t you think you need some discipline?” You asked, glaring down at him. It took almost half an hour just to get him on his knees, your patience was running thin. “No, I don’t.” He answered flatly, sitting there cross legged with a smug smirk. Can one even call this kneeling? He seems to be very comfortable.
Without noticing, you raised your voice a little, “that’s it, bend over, you definitely deserve punishment.” You patted your lap, feeling your brows twitch when he didn’t move a single inch. “What if I refuse?” The man replied, not even looking up at you. That’s it, you couldn’t deal with his bullshit today.
At first you weren’t even going to be this mean to him, but he really outdid himself this time with getting on your nerves. Which is why you simply sighed, picked up the nearest entertainment object within your reach, and began focusing on it. Ignoring him completely. No eye contact, no touching, and definitely no speaking. The shook that flashed his expression must have been priceless, what a shame that you couldn’t take a look at him.
For the next few minutes, he just waited, sneaking not-so-secretive peeks at you, wondering what was so interesting that you refused to acknowledge his presence. Then, the following minutes were spend sulking like an abandoned puppy. Lips pressed together into a pout, before he squeezed out through gritted teeth, “as if that thing’s more entertaining than me, what a joke.” Despite the comment, you didn’t even flinch, seemingly determined to see this to the end.
Another moment of awkward silence emerged, and he sighed, “this is a waste of time, do something already.” If you wait a little more from now on, that’s when he gets all desperate, all docile, if you may. Hands a breath too shy to truly touch you, lingering around your shin as he cursed under this breath. This was beneath him, to beg for scraps of your attention, but he was starting to feel all flustered!
Suddenly he shifted into a more fitting position, kneeling properly as he averted his gaze. “There, are you satisfied now? Tsk, such a tyrant.” Yet still no reaction, not even the slightest hint of interest. It took almost five minutes until he gave in, feeling tears prick at the corners of his eyes due to the humiliation. Cheeks flushing as he tried to shallow his shame, but to no avail. In the end, he couldn’t take this anymore and broke down piece by piece.
Starting by wrapping his arms around your leg, mumbling softly, “I’m sorry… okay? I’ll—” his Adam’s apple bobbed, showing his hesitation before he continued, “I’ll be good from now on… so look at me.” No response, nothing. “You are insufferable, urgh, why do I even bother?!” Look at that, another burst of anger, he must feel really pathetic right now, on the verge of begging for something that was never a problem until now.
Then, he began seeking your attention in earnest. Placing his head in your lap as he stared up at you with the most pitiful gaze ever, eyes glassy as they swelled with tears, cheeks an embarrassed red that deepened every time he realised how he was debasing himself for your amusement. All because you were neglecting him a little? He must have been more desperate than he realised. Now the tears he’s been holding back were dripping down his face in earnest, painting him in an even more pitiful light.
“Please.. I’m sorry, just- look at me. Don’t you- don’t you dare to ignore me when I’m already like this.” A silent sob as he tried to press himself closer to you, “I-I’ll be good.. really, I promise, don’t look away again, please…”
Everything He Needs
ceo!Rafe x gf!Reader
a/n: based on this request! 💌
Summary: Rafe’s ex resurfaces after four years, hoping to reconnect with the son she left behind—but Mason only knows one mom now, and it’s you, who’s been there every single day since. With protective Rafe by her side, You stand your ground in a moment that proves this little family isn’t going anywhere.
⸻
Rafe didn’t usually forget about meetings. Especially not the kind that had him pulling Mason out of preschool early and racing through town with his tie half-undone. But when he saw the name on the appointment email — Savannah Harding — his stomach dropped straight through the floor.
He didn’t tell you until the next morning. Not because he wanted to keep it from you, but because he didn’t know how to say my ex who signed away custody of our son wants to see him again. That kind of sentence doesn’t come easy.
“Are you serious?” you asked, barefoot in the kitchen with Mason in your arms, his cheek pressed to yours like always. “After four years?”
“She left when he was barely two,” Rafe muttered, staring into his coffee like it might offer some kind of answer. “Now she wants to talk. I don’t know why.”
You’d been in their lives for about half as long as Savannah had been gone — two full years of morning pancakes, preschool drop-offs, late-night Lego cleanup. A year of those spent slowly falling in love with Rafe, and the rest spent loving him out loud. You weren’t just part of their routine — you were home.
You didn’t say anything right away. Just kissed the side of Mason’s head and looked at Rafe the way you always did when things got heavy — a silent promise: whatever this turns into, we’re facing it together.
—
The meeting happened at a park. Rafe’s idea. Public, neutral, safe. A place where Mason could play if things got weird — and they probably would.
When Savannah showed up, it felt like watching a ghost walk out of a past life. Same face, same voice. But none of the warmth or clarity you’d expect from a mother seeing her son again.
“Oh my god,” she breathed when she spotted him, eyes already glistening. “He’s so big.”
Mason clung to your leg, looking up at her. “Who are you?”
Savannah crouched, trying to smile. “I’m… I’m your mom, sweetheart.”
He blinked up at her, confused. Then looked at you. You gave him a soft little nod, hand on his back.
He turned back to her and said, deadpan, “No, you’re not. That’s my mommy,” and pointed straight at you.
Rafe’s jaw locked. Savannah’s whole face crumpled.
“I—I just meant, I had you when you were born,” she said quickly. “That kind of mom.”
“Oh,” Mason said. “But you left.”
You swear even the birds stopped chirping.
“Why don’t you go play for a bit, bud?” Rafe said gently. “You want to hit the swings?”
“I want her to come,” he said, tugging on your hand.
You crouched down beside him. “I’ll be right here, baby. I promise.”
—
“I didn’t come to take him away,” Savannah said the second Mason was out of earshot. “I just… I don’t know. I thought maybe he could know me. A little.”
“You didn’t want that four years ago,” Rafe said. “When you signed over your rights when he was only two.”
“I was in a bad place.”
“And now you want a reward for feeling better?” you asked, calm but cold. “He’s not something you get back when it’s convenient.”
She blinked, stunned. “I didn’t think it would hurt this bad. Seeing him not know me. Not need me.”
“He doesn’t,” Rafe said flatly. “He has everything he needs.”
She looked at you then — not in anger, but in realization. Like it hit her all at once. The morning routines. The skinned-knee band-aids. The way Mason looked at you when he was scared, or tired, or needed someone to celebrate a Lego build.
“I just thought I could maybe be a part of his life again,” she said.
“You were a part of his life,” Rafe said. “And then you walked out. You don’t get to walk back in just because it’s easier now. Not when someone else has been showing up every day since.”
She didn’t argue. Just looked over at Mason, running across the playground, yelling, “Mommy! Look!”
“I see you, baby!” you called back, waving.
And that was it — the shift. The quiet moment where she finally understood.
“I get it now,” she whispered. “I really do.”
—
That night, Mason curled up between you and Rafe in bed, clutching his favorite stuffed dinosaur.
“Was that lady okay?” he asked, blinking up at you.
“She’s okay,” you said softly. “She just needed to see that you’re happy.”
“I am,” he mumbled, snuggling deeper into the blankets. “Can we get pancakes tomorrow?”
Rafe chuckled beside you. “You’ve had pancakes three times this week.”
“But mommy makes the best ones.”
You blinked fast and pressed a kiss into his hair. “Okay. Pancakes it is.”
Rafe just looked at the two of you, all curled up under the soft bedroom light — his family. The one he fought for. The one he chose. The one that stayed.
It wasn’t like you and Matt hadn’t been alone since you started dating. But somehow, every single attempt at finally taking things further kept getting inconveniently interrupted.
Like now, for instance.
Matt’s lips skimmed along your neck, his fingers tracing patterns along your waist. You sighed softly, tangling your fingers in his hair.
"Matty," you whispered.
He hummed against your skin, nudging your jaw with his nose. "Yeah?"
"Can we—"
Your sentence was abruptly cut short by the shrill ringing of your phone.
Matt paused, a quiet groan muffled against your collarbone. "Ignore it."
You hesitated. "But what if—"
"It’s probably nothing," he murmured, lips brushing your pulse. "Leave it."
It kept ringing. You sighed, gently pushing at his shoulders. "It’ll only take a second. Just let me silence it."
Matt exhaled sharply, moving back slightly as you reached over and grabbed your phone off the bedside table. Glancing at the screen, you rolled your eyes.
"Work," you muttered, annoyed. You answered quickly. "This better be an emergency."
"Y/N," Levi’s voice crackled through the line, anxious. "I’m so sorry—"
"What happened?"
"Uh... you know how we were testing the new phase-array sensors tonight?"
"Levi."
"Well, it shorted. Everything’s offline. And the readings are… weird."
You groaned softly, pressing your fingers to your forehead. "I’ll be there in half an hour." You hung up, sighing again as you tossed your phone onto the bed.
Matt shifted beside you. "You’re leaving?"
"I’m sorry," you muttered. "It’s—"
"Work," Matt finished gently. He tilted his head, clearly amused. "You know, I think Stark Industries has a personal vendetta against us."
You huffed, tugging your shirt back into place. "I’ll make it up to you. I promise."
Matt leaned forward, brushing his lips against yours quickly. "You better."
You rolled your eyes, reluctantly climbing off the bed. "Don't move. I'll be back as soon as possible."
Matt fell back onto the pillows with a sigh, his smirk unmistakable. "I'll hold you to that, angel."
---
A few days later, Matt had just managed to maneuver you against the kitchen counter, lips claiming yours fiercely. Your arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer.
Then, abruptly, a loud knock at his apartment door broke the silence. Matt froze, his forehead dropping onto your shoulder with a frustrated exhale.
"You've got to be kidding me," you muttered.
"Ignore it," he whispered, kissing your neck gently.
The knocking grew louder.
"Murdock!" Foggy's muffled voice echoed through the wood. "Come on, man, open up! I know you're home!"
Matt sighed heavily, pulling away. "He'll keep going until I answer."
You slumped against the counter dramatically. "I swear he has a sixth sense."
Matt smiled apologetically. "This'll be quick."
You folded your arms, watching as Matt made his way to the door, cracking it open just enough to speak. "Foggy. Bad timing."
"Yeah, sorry, I lost the deposition file," Foggy admitted sheepishly. "I need your copy."
Matt sighed, turning his head toward you slightly. "Give me a minute."
You threw your hands up, shooting him a pointed glare. Matt smiled, mouthing sorry before slipping out the door.
---
It had almost become a joke at this point. Every single time the two of you finally got a moment alone, something managed to interrupt.
You and Karen were at Josie’s, waiting for Matt and Foggy to arrive.
“Wanna tell me why you seem so pent up?” Karen asked, taking a drink of her beer.
You sighed, swirling your drink in the glass. "Because apparently, the universe hates me."
Karen raised a brow, amused. "That's dramatic, even for you."
"No, I'm serious," you insisted, leaning closer. "Every single time Matt and I are about to—" You paused, realizing you'd almost said too much. "Spend any sort of actual alone time together, something always interrupts."
Karen smirked knowingly, taking another sip. "Oh. That kind of pent up."
You glared at her. "Shut up."
She laughed lightly, shaking her head. "Sorry, it's just funny. You two spend practically all your time together. I'm surprised you even have that problem."
"Yeah, well, apparently work, Foggy, and fate itself have formed an alliance against us," you muttered bitterly.
"Have you tried just… telling people not to bother you?" Karen teased.
You scoffed. "We tried that. Believe me, it doesn't work."
Karen hummed sympathetically. "Well, if it's any consolation, I promise to never intentionally interrupt your... alone time."
"Thanks," you replied dryly, "that’s very generous."
She grinned. "Hey, I do what I can."
Just then, the bar door swung open, and Foggy walked in, Matt close behind him. You caught Matt’s slight smile as he tilted his head toward you, making his way through the crowd.
Karen nudged you playfully. "Better luck tonight?"
You rolled your eyes but couldn't stop a small smile. "I doubt it, but thanks for the optimism."
Matt stepped up beside you, his hand automatically finding your waist. "Hey, sweetheart," he murmured, leaning down and pressing a quick kiss to your temple. "Sorry we're late."
You sighed dramatically. "Don't worry about it. At this point, I'm used to it."
Matt chuckled softly, squeezing your side. "Tonight'll be different. Promise."
Karen snorted into her drink. "Good luck with that."
You glared at her again, and she raised her hands innocently.
Matt's brow furrowed, sensing the tension. "Did I miss something?"
"Nothing at all," Karen said, grinning widely. "Y/N was just filling me in on your streak of bad luck."
Matt’s lips quirked upward. "Oh. That."
Foggy looked between the three of you, utterly lost. "Am I missing something here?"
You shook your head, patting Foggy on the shoulder. "Trust me, Fog. You're better off not knowing."
---
Matt’s apartment was quiet when you stepped inside, locking the door behind you. The blinds were drawn shut, the place cloaked in comfortable darkness. You dropped your keys onto the entry table, taking off your jacket and hanging it beside Matt’s familiar black coat.
"Matty?" you called softly, stepping further into the apartment.
"Bedroom," came his muffled reply.
You kicked off your shoes, padding down the hall until you reached his room. Matt was sitting on the edge of the bed, pulling on a clean shirt. He looked relaxed, freshly showered, hair still damp and slightly messy. He tilted his head in your direction, lips curving into a gentle smile.
"Hey," he said softly.
You smiled, stepping toward him. "Hi."
Matt reached for you, fingers easily catching your wrist and tugging you closer, his hands settling comfortably at your hips. "How was work?"
You sighed, brushing your fingers through his damp hair. "The usual Stark chaos. Nothing new."
His lips twitched. "So no interruptions planned tonight?"
You laughed quietly, your fingers trailing down the side of his face. "Not that I know of. Unless Foggy’s about to burst through the door."
Matt smiled, tilting his head slightly into your palm. "Not tonight. He and Karen have dinner plans."
"Thank God," you muttered.
Matt chuckled softly, pulling you gently closer so you were standing between his legs. His thumbs brushed lightly against your sides. "You hungry?"
You shook your head slightly, leaning down until your forehead rested against his. "Not really."
"Good," Matt whispered, voice low and warm. "Me either."
You smiled softly, tracing your fingertips over the curve of his jaw. His hands slid beneath your shirt, settling warmly against your lower back. You inhaled slowly, eyes fluttering shut as he guided your lips down to his own.
The kiss was gentle at first, soft and unhurried. Matt’s lips brushed yours slowly, carefully, as if savoring every moment. Your fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt, pressing closer.
Matt sighed against your lips, deepening the kiss. His hands tightened slightly on your waist, guiding you down until you settled comfortably across his lap. Your arms looped around his shoulders, your bodies pressed close enough that you could feel the steady beat of his heart.
"Matt," you whispered breathlessly against his lips, smiling faintly. "If my phone rings, I swear—"
Matt’s quiet laughter cut you off, his mouth skimming along your jaw. "I’ll throw it out the window myself."
You huffed softly, tilting your head back to give him better access. "Promises, promises, Murdock."
Matt smirked against your skin, his voice low and teasing. "Careful, sweetheart. I might hold you to that."
You laughed quietly, tangling your fingers in his hair again and pulling him back to your lips. For the first time in weeks, there were no interruptions—just you, Matt, and the steady, comforting quiet of his apartment.
But, of course, it could never be that easy.
A knock rattled on a window in the living room.
Matt froze, forehead dropping heavily against your shoulder. "You've got to be kidding me."
You groaned, your fingers tangling into his hair. "I swear, this is a cosmic joke at this point."
The knocking grew louder, quicker, more urgent. Matt sighed, lifting his head reluctantly. "Who even—"
A muffled voice called from outside, high-pitched and apologetic. "Uh... Mister Murdock? It’s—it's me, Peter. Spider-Man? Sorry, I just—I kinda need help."
You raised a brow. "Spider-Man knocks now?"
Matt sighed deeply. "Apparently."
You stood up from Matt’s lap, fixing your shirt as Matt slowly stood beside you, annoyance radiating off him.
Peter tapped again, more sheepishly this time. "Hello? Uh—Matt?"
"Coming," Matt called, moving toward the window with a heavy sigh.
You followed behind, crossing your arms as Matt slid the window open. Peter awkwardly crawled inside, tugging off his mask with a nervous grimace.
"Hey, Mr. Murdock," he mumbled, turning to you. "Hey, Y/N. Sorry if this is a bad time, but—"
"Is the city actively on fire?" Matt cut in, voice flat.
Peter hesitated. "Well, no, but—"
"Is anyone dying?" Matt continued.
Peter shifted nervously. "No, but I—"
Matt folded his arms, visibly unimpressed. "Is Stark Tower currently collapsing into a giant sinkhole?"
Peter blinked. "What? No."
Matt nodded slowly. "Then this probably could’ve waited."
Peter flushed, rubbing his neck sheepishly. "Oh. Yeah, I guess it could’ve. But I, uh... I kinda panicked.”
You sighed, stepping toward Peter. "What happened, Pete?"
Peter winced, holding up his web-shooter. "It, um... jammed. And I can’t get it off."
Matt tilted his head, incredulous. "You came to me—at my apartment—at night—because your web-shooter jammed?"
Peter swallowed nervously. "I tried everyone else, Mr. Murdock. Literally everyone else."
You raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "Everyone?"
"Doctor Strange yelled at me for disturbing his 'cosmic meditation,' Happy sent me straight to voicemail, Mr. Wilson laughed for a full two minutes before hanging up, and Pepper’s voicemail said she’s out of town." Peter said quickly. "You two were my last option."
You glanced at Matt, suppressing a smile at his annoyed expression. "Alright, fine," you sighed. "Let me see it."
Peter held his arm out gratefully, relaxing as you started examining the device. Matt leaned against the wall, crossing his arms. "You realize I’m blind, right?"
Peter flushed deeper. "Well, yeah, but you're like... you're Daredevil."
Matt’s jaw ticked slightly. "And?"
"And," Peter swallowed, voice small, "and I’m really, really sorry for interrupting your night. Again."
Matt sighed heavily, shaking his head as you fiddled with the shooter.
"Got it," you finally announced, popping the jammed cartridge free and handing it back to him. "All fixed."
Peter sighed dramatically. "Thank you so much. Really, I—"
"Pete," Matt interrupted gently. "Go home."
Peter nodded quickly, already halfway back out the window. "Yeah. Right. Okay. Goodnight Mr. Murdock, Y/N."
He vanished just as fast as he’d appeared, leaving silence behind him.
Matt tilted his head back toward you, annoyance fading into amusement. "How much do you think it'd cost to soundproof these windows?"
You smirked, stepping closer to him again. "Worth every penny, honestly."
Matt smiled, tugging you back toward him, fingertips brushing your waist. "Where were we?"
You grimaced. “Actually… Peter’s webshooter’s reminded me of—”
“—Ramen.” Matt cut in.
Your eyebrows raised, “how’d you know?”
Matt chuckled softly, his fingertips brushing your hip gently. "Because anytime Peter shows up, it means your brain starts spinning with work and you always end up craving ramen afterward."
You huffed, poking his chest lightly. "You make me sound predictable."
He tilted his head, amused. "Am I wrong?"
"No," you muttered begrudgingly. "But you don't have to sound so smug about it."
Matt's lips twitched into a smirk. "Can't help it."
You sighed, stepping back slightly. "Come on, let's go get ramen before they close."
"Alright," Matt conceded, grabbing his coat. "But you're buying, since it's your fault."
"My fault?" you repeated incredulously as you slipped on your shoes.
"Your spider-friend, your problem," Matt teased lightly, holding the door open for you.
You rolled your eyes fondly. "He's everyone's spider-friend, Matty."
"Well, everyone doesn't get their evening interrupted like we do."
You linked your arm through his as you stepped outside. "Sounds like someone's still bitter."
Matt hummed softly. "Just hungry."
"Whatever you say, devil boy," you said with a smirk.
He laughed quietly, squeezing your arm lightly. "Lead the way, sweetheart."
---
It had taken another two weeks, three false alarms, and one very apologetic Spider-Man before you and Matt finally managed to find yourselves completely alone, no distractions in sight.
"Door?" Matt asked, murmuring against your lips, his voice husky and quiet.
"Locked," you whispered back.
"Phone?"
"On silent."
Matt smiled against your mouth. "Windows?"
You sighed, pulling back slightly. "Closed. Matt, relax. Everything’s handled."
He chuckled softly, his hands finding your waist as he pulled you back in. "Just making sure."
You smiled, sliding your arms around his neck and playing with the soft hair at his nape. "At this point, I think we've earned tonight."
Matt hummed quietly, brushing his lips gently along your jaw. "I’m not letting anyone interrupt us tonight, sweetheart."
Your breath hitched slightly, your fingers tightening gently in his hair. "Good. Because I might actually murder whoever tries."
He laughed softly, nudging your nose lightly with his own. "Noted."
You tugged gently at his shirt, pulling him backwards until the backs of your knees hit the bed. You sat down slowly, smiling as Matt followed you without hesitation, settling himself carefully above you.
"You’re sure no spider-kid’s gonna come tapping at the window tonight?" you teased softly, brushing your fingers along his jaw.
He tilted his head slightly, smiling down at you. "I might actually lose my patience with him if he does."
You laughed quietly, hooking your legs around his hips and tugging him closer. "So fierce, devil boy."
Matt leaned down, lips brushing your ear. "Only for you."
Warmth pooled in your stomach at the softness in his voice, your heart thudding in your chest as you pulled him into a slow, deep kiss.
His lips moved carefully, tenderly, hands slipping beneath your shirt to rest against your bare skin, tracing gentle circles along your waist. You sighed softly against his lips, your fingertips trailing down his chest to find the hem of his shirt.
Matt pulled back slightly, just enough to let you pull his shirt off over his head, tossing it aside. His lips found yours again immediately, kissing you with renewed urgency, his skin warm under your hands.
"Still good?" he murmured against your mouth.
You nodded, breath catching. "Better than."
His hands slid slowly up your sides, under your shirt, fingertips grazing bare skin until he reached the hem and pulled it up and off you. The second it hit the floor, he was kissing you again, deeper this time. Tongue slow and sure, like he had all the time in the world.
Your fingers threaded into his hair, tugging gently. He groaned into your mouth, then pulled back just enough to speak.
"Lie back for me, angel."
You obeyed without hesitation, stretching across the bed, propped up slightly on your elbows as Matt’s hands found your thighs. He knelt between them, head tilted, his expression unreadable but focused. You could feel the weight of his attention even without his eyes.
"You're beautiful," he murmured. "I can feel every little shift in your breathing, hear your heartbeat changing every time I touch you. You're driving me insane."
Your breath caught as his palms slid up your thighs, thumbs pressing gently into the muscle. He leaned in slowly, trailing soft kisses along the inside of your knee, up the sensitive skin of your inner thigh.
You gasped quietly when he nuzzled higher, the stubble on his jaw catching against your skin. One of his hands gripped your thigh, the other pressing a warm palm flat against your stomach, grounding.
"You want this?" he asked softly, mouth brushing right against the waistband of your underwear.
"Yes," you breathed, eyes fluttering. "Matty, please."
That was all it took. He hooked his fingers in the waistband, dragging the fabric down your legs with excruciating slowness, kissing each new inch of skin he exposed. Once they were gone, he settled between your legs like he belonged there.
You squirmed, breathless already. Matt’s hands eased your thighs wider, lips brushing the softest kisses down the crease of your hip. Then lower.
His tongue flicked out, teasing, and you gasped, head dropping back against the pillow.
"Fuck," you whispered.
Matt exhaled a soft laugh, the sound warm against your skin. "That good already, sweetheart?"
Then he buried his mouth between your thighs. No warning, no hesitation. Just heat and tongue and pressure that had your back arching off the bed.
"Ah—Matty," you choked out, hands scrambling for his hair, needing something to hold onto as his tongue licked a slow, devastating stripe up your center.
He groaned like he tasted the sound you made, hands anchoring you, thumbs rubbing slow circles into your thighs as he worked.
You were already dripping for him, and he didn’t let up, tongue pressing and curling in ways that made your entire body tremble. He knew exactly how to read you—the way your hips twitched, the way your moans caught, the way your breath stuttered when he sucked just right.
Your thighs started to shake.
"Matty—oh god—please don’t stop," you gasped, one hand flying to muffle your mouth, the other tangled in his messy hair.
He didn't stop.
He doubled down.
His mouth moved faster, tongue fucking into you before flattening and dragging slow, greedy circles over your clit, sucking just hard enough to make you cry out.
"F-fuck, I'm gonna—" Your whole body tensed, thighs clamping, and Matt growled against you, holding you open, not letting you go anywhere.
"Let go," he murmured against your soaked skin. "Come on, angel. Come for me."
You shattered.
It hit hard, sharp and overwhelming, your hips jerking as the orgasm ripped through you. You cried out, hands fisting in the sheets, breath breaking as your body shook.
Matt held you through every second of it, mouth softening but never leaving you, licking you through the aftershocks with slow, lazy strokes until you finally whimpered, pushing weakly at his head.
He kissed your inner thigh one last time before crawling back up, settling his weight gently over you, mouth slick and smile smug.
"Hi," he murmured.
You huffed a laugh, dazed and breathless. "You’re such a menace."
"You love it," he said, kissing your cheek, your jaw, the tip of your nose.
"Maybe," you whispered, reaching up to cup his face. "Come here."
He kissed you slowly, deeply, letting you taste yourself on his lips. His body pressed heavy and warm against yours, one hand slipping down to cradle your thigh, the other bracing next to your head.
You wrapped your legs around him, tugging him closer.
"Your turn, devil boy."
Matt's breath caught. His body stilled above yours, tension rolling through his shoulders like a current. He tilted his head slightly, and you could feel him—feel the way he honed in on every shift of your breath, the thump of your pulse, the way your thighs clenched around his hips.
"Say it again," he murmured.
You smirked, dragging your nails lightly down his spine. "Your turn."
Matt groaned softly, low and wrecked, like the words hit somewhere primal. One of his hands cupped your cheek, thumb brushing your lower lip as he leaned in, voice rough. "Tell me if anything's too much."
"Matty," you whispered, hips rolling up against the bulge still trapped in his pants, "I want all of it."
His mouth crashed back onto yours—hot, open, desperate. You tasted yourself on his lips, still slick and wet from where he’d had his mouth on you, and it made something in your gut twist up tight.
His hands were everywhere—your ribs, your thighs, your throat. Always so fucking careful, even when he was losing control. Even now, his fingers trembled where they gripped your hip.
"Take 'em off," you whispered against his mouth, tugging at the waistband of his pants.
He didn’t need to be told twice. He sat back on his knees, hands fumbling at his belt. You watched him—bare chest rising with each shaky breath, flushed, lips red from kissing you senseless, hair sticking up like you’d dragged your fingers through it one too many times. The second he shoved his pants low, you saw the outline of him, thick and hard, the head already leaking.
You bit your lip. "God, Matty."
He huffed a breathless laugh, cocky but a little shaky. "You looking at me like that isn’t helping."
"I like what I see."
Matt didn’t answer—just leaned in again, reaching down to wrap a hand around himself. He stroked slow, base to tip, teasing himself while he hovered over you, breath hot against your cheek.
You reached down, fingertips grazing his wrist. "Let me."
He let you take over, groaning softly when your hand wrapped around him. You stroked him slowly, dragging your thumb over the head, spreading the precum, watching the way his jaw flexed.
"You feel so fucking good," you whispered.
Matt's voice was strangled. "You keep doing that and this is gonna be over before it starts."
You laughed softly, but let go, guiding him instead—his hips nudging between your legs, cock heavy and hot, head sliding wet over your slit. He sucked in a sharp breath.
"You sure?"
"Yes," you whispered, fingers curling in his hair. "Matty, please."
He pushed in slow. The stretch was deep, thick, dragging your walls open inch by inch until he bottomed out with a shaky groan.
"F-fuck," he whispered against your throat. "You feel... Jesus."
You were gasping, clinging to his shoulders, your body trying to adjust around him. It wasn’t your first time. Wasn’t his either. But it was your first time together. And it was already better than anything you'd felt before.
Matt didn’t move right away. He just held there, forehead pressed to your shoulder, one hand braced by your head and the other gripping your thigh like it grounded him.
"Matty," you whispered. "Move. Please."
He did.
A slow pull, then a push, dragging back in with a rhythm that felt like it was made just for you. He moaned into your neck, his voice thick with want. "So fucking tight—"
Your nails bit into his skin as he picked up pace, shallow thrusts turning deeper, faster. The sound of skin on skin filled the room, slick and wet and obscene. You couldn't stop the noises leaving your mouth, couldn't quiet the little cries every time he hit that spot inside you that made your legs tremble.
"You’re perfect," he panted. "Every sound you make—fuck, I can feel them. Hear 'em in your throat, in your chest—"
"Matt—"
"I’ve wanted this," he groaned, fucking into you harder now, the bed creaking beneath both of you. "You. For years. Always thought about you. Touching you. Making you come on my cock."
Your breath stuttered. "Holy fuck, Matty—"
"Come for me," he growled, his thumb finding your clit and circling, firm and fast. "Right now. Wanna feel you squeeze me. Wanna hear how you sound when you fall apart."
You didn’t stand a chance. Your orgasm hit hard, sudden, crashing through you with a strangled cry, your legs tightening around his waist.
Matt cursed, fucking you through it, hips stuttering as he groaned, low and wrecked. "Shit—gonna come—fuck—"
He slammed in deep and came with a gasp, cock pulsing inside you, heat spilling as his whole body trembled above you. He collapsed onto his forearms, forehead resting against yours, both of you breathing like you’d run a marathon.
"Jesus," you whispered, still shaking.
Matt laughed, soft and breathless. "Yeah. That about covers it."
You grinned, brushing sweaty hair from his forehead. "Worth the wait."
His lips found yours again, soft now, lingering.
"Every second."
And for once, nothing interrupted.
Small Touches and Simple Gestures
Summary: Javier Peña x Fe!Reader -> For years you've pretended to be married to avoid unwanted attention. But what happens when the lie you've been living, suddenly becomes true. Well, at least a part of it.
Disclaimer: Swearing, fluff, one of the agents making a move on Reader though nothing happens (Javi stops it). Fake dating, falling in love, embarrassing mothers, office romance. Heavy smut towards the end, so 18+. Happy ending. A lot of smaller intimate moments between Javi and Reader away from the smut, too. Kinda a long one. Not Proof Read.
If someone had told you that three years into working with Agent Javier Peña you’d be wearing a wedding band, marrying you to him for at the very least, the foreseeable future…you wouldn’t have believed them.
And you would be right not to. Because that, technically, wasn’t what it was for.
And it had all started with a question that Peña asked you one day as you sat at your desk.
“Was he real?”
You slowly tore your attention away from the case file in front of you. “What?”
“Your husband.”
For a moment you forgot all about how you’d first come to interact with Peña. He had asked you out. Well, flirted heavily then asked you out.
“What husband?”
Javi stood as he talked, walking towards your desk and sitting down on the edge of it closest to you. “One day you’re wearing a wedding ring telling me you’re married, the next it’s gone.”
You looked at your hand. “Oh. Yeah.” You decided to admit the truth. “I made him up.”
Despite his constant theories, he was still shocked. “What?”
“I made him up.”
You said it as if you were asking him how his day was. Like it was nothing new.
“You made him up?”
“You try and be a single woman in this office who doesn’t like getting hit on by every guy who thinks with his dick,” you told him. “See how quickly you make up a fake family.”
He had to laugh. “But I hit on you.”
You looked at him, suppressing an already knowing smirk on your face. “My point exactly.”
“Think I got something.” From the door, Steve came sweeping inside and threw a couple of files down on Javi’s desk. The previous topic was dropped for now but you took a moment to revel in the shock graced on Peña’s face.
However, a few hours later, it was brought back up again.
You’d been standing in the evidence locker, looking for yet another misplaced case file. Could people not read in this office? Had they lost all sense of the alphabet? You sighed heavily.
“How long have you been doing it?”
You jumped and found Peña standing behind you. “Jesus, Peña. Make a noise or something. Fuck.” You turned back to the messy shelf in front of you.
“So?”
You sighed. “Doing what? This? Feels like hours.”
He shook his head and rounded you before leaning against the side of the shelves. “Not the files. You being married.”
“Oh, uh…” You pulled a few hefty files and handed them over to him before reaching down onto the lower shelf and pulling those files up. “Couple years, I guess. Since before the Academy.”
“Why?”
“Didn’t you hear me earlier, or do I need to repeat myself, Peña?”
He shook his head again and put the files down. “No, I heard you. But that’s here. Why did it start?”
You sighed and stopped what you were doing to look at him. “Why are you so interested all of a sudden?”
He let out a small chuckle. “What? Come on, you’re one of the first Agents here to reject me not once, but three different times.”
You raised a subtle eyebrow. “I was married when you did that.”
“The first time, yes.” Javi corrected. “But that was an honest mistake. The second and third time, there was no ring on your finger. And, after this morning, you technically weren’t married at all. Look, just answer my questions and then I’ll drop it forever.”
“You promise?”
He held up his hand. “Scouts honour.”
You gave a questioned hum. “It’s difficult to imagine you as a Scout.”
“Y/l/n.”
You groaned. “Fine. It started because I got asked out a couple of times by this guy. He seemed nice and all but I wasn’t interested. So, when he asked why I kept saying no, I told him I was married. Swapped my rings over under the bar top before showing it to him. He took it well, apologised and said my husband was a lucky fella.”
Peña continued to listen.
“Then I moved away. The second time I was with someone but this guy just kept hitting on my friend. She went to the bathroom and then he started on me. Told him I was with someone. He didn’t believe me. So, I showed him my wedding band. Said my friend was married, too. He,” you sighed. “Eventually backed-off. After that it just kinda became my go-to. People I interviewed preferred to see a married woman than a single woman being a cop. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t start out my job as married. But the minute the compliments, and the touching and the dates being pre-arranged because they expected me to say yes…once they all started, I started wearing my wedding ring.”
“So why take it off?”
You shrugged. “Guess I must have forgotten. Besides, nobody has tried anything in the last couple of years. We’ve all been too busy.”
For a moment, Peña’s demeanour seemed to shift. “But I’ve flirted with you.”
You smiled a tired smile and stepped back from the files for a moment. “I work with you, Peña. I like you but I think I’m immune.”
“That hurts.” He deadpanned before placing a hand over his heart. “That…wow.”
You laughed. “I think you’ll bounce back.”
And he did. That night he walked out telling Murphy he had a date with the stall girl he’d met a few days ago.
The following weeks were hectic as different cases made their way across your desk, all with connections to Peña and Murphy’s biggest case; Pablo Escobar.
From interviewing victim’s families, to interrogations, to the crappy coffee in the break room. Your days and nights were spent looking over files and dealing with your case loads. Until one afternoon in the breakroom led to something you never had expected.
There was another Agent working at the Embassy. You’d seen him around a few times, shared a conversation or two. But most importantly, he had seen your wedding ring. You hadn’t missed his behaviour over the last couple of days. It started with smiles in the hallway – innocent enough. Then you found him in your breakroom more. Apparently the coffee was better. Then he was sitting at your table during lunch – apparently his partner was out for the day and he felt like some company. You didn’t miss his eyes clocking your hand.
“Your wedding band. It’s gone.”
You didn’t know why at the time, but the lie fell from your lips. “Oh, yeah, It’s in for a cleaning. It had a couple dark patches and scuffs on it.”
More things started creeping up. Like how he always stood just that little bit closer and not in a comforting way, when you were both talking. Or how his eyes looked you up and down before you got to speaking distance from each other.
Then in the breakroom, the ‘compliments’ started. How your hair looked – how it always looked. How you always made ‘women’s clothes look so much better’. How he enjoyed spending time with you because you actually talked to him.
“You know,” he trailed a finger up your arm and you were three seconds away from breaking it and running to take a scalding hot shower. “I was thinking we could get away for a while. After all, we both deserve a break. Maybe take these lunches outside of the office.”
You stepped back. “I’m married.”
“Oh, come on, we both know that’s a sham.” He told you, taking a step closer as you took another one back. “You never bring him to office parties, there’s no pictures on your desk-”
“I don’t need to prove to you or to anyone else that I’m married.”
He laughed. He actually laughed. “You’re not about to tell me he lives in Canada are you?”
“No. He-”
“He’s right here.”
It was safe to say you were shocked, but the agent didn’t seem to notice as he turned round and found Javi standing in the hallway.
“Peña. I was just-”
“Scaring my wife?”
The guy was turning paler by the second and yet somehow his ego carried him through. “You mean work-wife, because I have to say Javi, that doesn’t really count.”
“How about a marriage certificate? Does that count for you?” Peña finally found you by his side before he whispered to you.
“You okay, cariño?” All you could do was nod, the shock of him pretending to be your husband still settling over you.
He looked back to the agent who had been hitting on you. “I’m gonna tell you this once and only once. Hit on my wife or scare her again, and I’ll kill you.”
“Javi-”
“I don’t think Messina would be happy to learn one of her best Agents was being sexually harassed.”
He nodded, backing away. “You’re right. I’m sorry.”
Javi shook his head. “Not to me. To her.”
Awkwardly, the guy looked from Javi, around the room, back to Javi and then to you. “I’m sorry.”
You didn’t move. You didn’t speak. Peña’s your husband?
“You can go.”
Taking Javi’s instructions, he left. Peña then waited a minute before turning towards you. “You sure you’re okay?”
You nodded. “I’m fine. Thank you, by the way.”
“Don’t mention it.”
“But you shouldn’t have done that.”
“What?” He asked, holding the coffee pot in one hand and your mug in the other.
“Javi…” You looked around the room before looking back at him. “This is gonna spread around the office. You and I -- married.”
He shrugged. “What’s the big deal? Now you’ve got a physical person to pretend to be your husband.”
“Javi.” He handed you your cup of coffee before pouring his own. “Please tell me you are aware of your own reputation? And the fact that we are colleagues? And the fact that I have been making a husband up for god knows how long? People are going to know this is fake and then I’ll be judged – heavily – for it.”
“Why would you be judged?”
You rested a hand on your hip. “This is gonna look like I’ve used you to be my pretend husband and everyone will just feel sorry for me and make a big joke about it with you.”
“Except I’m the one that told him.” Peña pointed out. “If anything, that’s what’s going to spread around the office.”
“Ah yes, I can see the headlines now; ‘Agent Javier ‘slut’ Peña finally ties himself down with a female colleague.’.”
He shrugged. “We don’t have to be tied down if you don’t want to.”
You hit him on the arm. “Be serious.”
“Look,” he set his coffee cup down and took you by the shoulders. “If it becomes anything then we just fake it. We already spend most of our time together anyway, and who hasn’t had an office romance once in their life?”
“I haven’t.”
Peña paused for a second before nodding. “Congratulations. You’ve just lost your office romance virginity.”
“Peña.”
He shook it off. “All I’m saying is, if it becomes a thing, we just…roll with it.”
“Roll with it?”
He nodded. “Roll with it.”
“There’s a chance our careers hang in the balance because I’m pretty sure this breaks at least three rules in HR. And your grand solution is to…’roll…with it.’.”
Javi nodded once more. “We’ll be fine. I promise.”
It was not fine. Neither of you were fine. Especially considering two days later you were both forced into Messina’s office where, before you could spit out the truth, Messina interrupted and said she didn’t want to know. Just that you both had to remain completely professional and that if someone ever caught either of you, you’d both be suspended.
So, things remained somewhat neutral. You both received a couple of looks from other co-workers. Murphy teased both of you relentlessly, despite being the only one to know the truth since you stopped the elevator when all three of you were inside to tell him as much.
But then the loud rumours started and people didn’t even try to hide them.
Whilst pouring you and Peña a cup of coffee each – something you had done almost everyday for three years, you could hear people gossiping.
“Maybe he knocked her up. Shotgun wedding, you know?”
“I don’t think they’re even a couple. I mean, they never show any kind of affection to each other.”
One disagreed with that statement. “No, I’ve seen him with her a few times. Little touches here and there. Must be their love language. Small touches and simple gestures.”
“That’s cute, I guess. But I kinda expected more from Javi. He was always so…you know.”
The woman beside her sighed, “Yeah.”
You walked away more confused about life than you had been since before you started highschool.
It was clear the rest of the office ‘knew’ about ‘you and Javi’. And that they each had a different opinion on the matter. And some of them you didn’t even know about, but Javi did.
He’d heard everything from your marriage to him being a sham because he got you pregnant, to both male and female staff asking him “why y/n?”. Except, it was never in a friendly manner. To the men, it was either because they thought “Javi could have any choice he wanted, and he went for her?”, or because he’d gone for one of the women they had wanted “a shot at” themselves. And to the women it was…much of the same thing, with an added jealous streak wondering why he went for “the one woman who didn’t want” him, when most of the other women who’d worked with him “actually wanted” him.
Javi’s eyes trailed your every move from the coffee station, back to your desk and then towards him. “You okay?”
You zoned back into reality and handed him his coffee. “Yeah. Fine. What have you got?”
Turning the case file around, he told you.
Around a month or so later, not much had changed. People were still gossiping about your marriage to Peña, the case was gathering little evidence so the constant reviewing of previous case loads was underway. Between keeping up the lie of your marriage to Javi – despite neither of you having to do much out of your normal routine – and the case work and the constant heart attack you got when Messina would stop walking when stood directly between your desk and Peña’s before humming and moving along, you were running out of energy.
“Come to mine after work.”
You looked around. People were looking but they were too far out of earshot to hear.
You took the paper from Javi.
“Why?”
“You’re tired, and I’m tired watching you eat that shitty stuff from the cafeteria. I’m cooking dinner.”
You looked up at him, shocked. “You can cook?”
He smiled. “Yeah, yeah. After work. I’ll leave the door unlocked for you.”
Javi tapped your desk twice before walking away and looking around the office. Everyone who had been looking quickly looked away before looking back at you. Once they found you looking, they turned back to their work.
For a moment, you looked at the half stale coffee on your desk. It would be nice to have a decent meal considering you’d been eating left-overs for about a week and half.
And he kept his promise.
Javi had left work an hour before you were supposed to. He’d grabbed his jacked off the hook behind your desk, bent down and pressed a kiss to the top of your head, your body too tired to fight off leaning into him when he did so. You had meant to clock out of work an hour later but staring at words, losing concentration and trying to focus back in meant when you finally looked at the clock, you were getting close to being forty minutes late.
“Shit.”
Not bothering to drop your stuff off in your apartment two floors up, you found Javi’s door unlocked like he’d said and you walked inside.
It smelt like heaven. Good, hot food. And Javi.
It was quiet as you walked down his hallway and eventually found him relaxing on the sofa, his legs thrown across the rest of it. He was watching reruns.
“Relax,” you could hear the smile in his voice despite not being able to see his face. “Figured you’d be late. Food’ll be ready soon.”
With a relieved sigh, you dropped your bag by the steps and walked around. He moved his legs for you to sit down and he watched you for a moment as you pushed the heels of your hands into your eyes and leaned back.
“Tired?”
“Exhausted,” you admitted.
“Come ‘ere.” His voice was soft and quiet as he reached out for you by the shoulder. Looking at him for a moment before silently agreeing, you let him pull you down until eventually you were laying beside him, your head on his chest, his legs tangled with yours.
It took him a moment, but Javi removed your hair-tie letting your hair loose before running his fingers through it. You relaxed almost immediately, feeling the once growing headache slowly melt away with each touch of his hand.
You could have fallen asleep but he didn’t let you. “You’ve gotta eat. I didn’t slave over a hot stove for nothing.”
You groaned a little and buried yourself deeper into his side. “How are you this calming?”
“It’s my natural touch.” Javi told you before kissing the top of your head and sitting up. “Come on. Dinner’s ready. Then I promise, you can fall asleep.”
“Hallelujah.”
It took you a moment but your head eventually stopped spinning long enough for you to sit up and walk over to the table where Javi had set down both of your meals. And it was one of the best you’d ever had; either because he was a great cook, or you were starving enough that any food that wasn’t cafeteria left-overs would taste like heaven at that moment. Though, you had a feeling it was the first one.
In silence, you both washed and dried. Until you spoke out the pressing question on your mind.
“What happens if we meet ‘the one’?”
“What ‘one’?” Javi handed you another freshly washed plate.
“I mean,” you spun it through the dish towel. “To everyone else, we’re married. But what if we end up meeting the person we actually want to date and marry? What do we do then?”
Javi shrugged. “Guess we get divorced.”
“But we’re not actually married.”
“Then we play it by ear. They say when you know you know…maybe when we know, we just…tell them the truth. But I doubt that’s gonna happen.” Javi nearly crapped himself. “For me, not you. I doubt that’ll happen for me.”
You looked at him. “Why?”
For a moment, he was quiet. Thinking. Deliberating. “Back in Texas, I was gonna get married. Lorraine. She was a wonderful woman but…I don't know. I was driving to the church and I just stopped.”
“You left her at the altar?”
“I never made it to the church,” he admitted. “I don’t know. I suppose at some point I’d settle down but…” Javi shrugged. “I can see it happening for you though, so, whenever you do meet him, I can be there to help explain this whole…situation we’ve got going on.”
You laughed a little at that. “Thanks.”
Twenty minutes later, you were half asleep before Javi pulled you over to him once more. The last thing you could remember was you taking a deep breath in, the scent of him, his home and his cooking fill your senses.
When you woke up, you found yourself still on the sofa, the news playing on the TV and Javi cooking in the kitchen. It took you a while before your brain registered you weren’t still dreaming and you’d fallen asleep not only at Peña’s, but also on him.
“Hey,” Peña shook you back awake. “Breakfast is ready.”
You placed your hand over his and nodded. “Okay.”
Neither of you said anything when you ate, just listened to the news that passed over the speakers of the TV.
“Who taught you to cook?” You asked, turning to look at him as he drove you both to work.
“My dad. My mom helped, but dad was the one who burnt less stuff.”
After eating, you’d run to your apartment to get a fresh change of clothes and run a brush through your hair, only to be greeted by your husband at the bottom of the stairs. “I’ll drive us to work.”
So, now you were driving to work with Javi before hopping out of his car and being led with a warm hand at the bottom of your back through the hallways of work before you both finally reached your desks.
And for the first time in weeks, you finally had the energy to get through your work day. And so did Javi.
Although things started to change when you got a surprise visit from your mother.
You’d been working for weeks on the same case and in between all of the case work, the fake marriage and the few months that followed, you’d forgotten to write to your mother.
It was her one agreement with you moving to Columbia. She knew there was nothing she could do to stop you – it was your job and you were good at it, plus, despite all of the gear grinding you had to do every now and again, you loved it. But knowing she didn’t accept your decision to work as DEA in Columbia would have slowly killed you – and her, too.
Any time she called, you’d either been dead asleep – either at yours or Javi’s – or at work. So, she took the notion to come and see you.
So when you walked down the hall towards your office and heard your mother’s voice ask you a question, you felt your entire body crash to a screaming halt before realising what and why she was asking.
“You’re married?”
“Mom.”
Your mom called your full name and walked towards you. “What this lovely woman just told me better not be true, or else that means I’ve missed my daughter’s wedding.”
You tried your best to remain calm and relaxed. Two emotions you were desperately clinging onto for dear life. “She tells me his name is Javier Pen…”
For a moment, she looked back to the secretary who nodded and whispered his name again for your mother to repeat with full confidence to you. “Javier Peña.”
“Mom, maybe it’s best we-”
Then the secretary spoke up in excitement. “Oh, there he is. Javi!”
Looking up from his own case file, about to turn down the hallway, he found who was calling him before seeing who was standing in front of them. You and, from what he could guess, your mother.
Shit. Your mother? No. She was back in the States. Maybe he’d remembered her face wrong from the picture behind your desk.
Walking over, Javi’s hand came to your lower back before he quickly brushed a kiss against your cheek. “Cariño, you okay?”
You tried to remain calm as you said the next sentence. “Javi, this is my mother. Mom, this is my..husband..Javi.”
Then something you hadn’t expected to happen, happened.
“It’s nice to finally meet you, Mrs Y/l/n. Y/n’s told me a lot about you.”
“I wish I could say the same.” But she still shook his hand and allowed him to press a light kiss to the back of it.
Carefully, Javi stepped back and pulled you closer towards him, your mother’s eyes never once stopping to not examine the couple that stood in front of her.
Javi nodded. “We are sorry about that. But, maybe we can make it up to you.”
You looked at Javi a little panicked. But your mother was already interested. “Oh?”
“I’m guessing you’re staying here for a few days? Come and stay with us. I can make us dinner and we can all get to know each other.”
Then your mom smiled. Apparently Javi already had her approval. “Well…I think that would be lovely. But don’t think either of you are getting off lightly. I missed my daughter’s wedding that I didn’t even know about.”
“Honey, give your mother our address, I’ll ask-”
She shook her head. “No, no. You all seem busy. I can take myself there. And I’d like to see what’s around the market stalls. Is there anything I can bring for dinner?”
Javi shook his head. “No, not at all.”
You smiled. “He’s got it covered, mom. Just bring yourself.”
“Alright then. Well, I look forward to seeing you both for dinner.”
In the space of five minutes you’d all said your goodbye’s and you had ever so sweetly pulled your husband towards your office before closing the door and blinds and turning back to your partner.
“What the hell are you thinking?”
Javi shrugged. “She’s come down here to see you. We might as well make the effort.”
“We? Javi. We don’t live together. She’s gonna take one look around my apartment and realise I still live there. She’s gonna take one more look at my face and realise everything that’s happened is a complete sham and then she’s gonna parade it around town that I’m still single. She won’t mean it harshly, but she will.”
“So, we don’t tell her and just say we haven’t had a chance to move things since getting married. We’ll be okay.”
You let out a panicked laugh before you started pacing. “I knew this was a bad idea. It’s bad enough we’re lying to people here.”
“You’re the one that started it before I got roped in.”
“Hey! You roped yourself into this. You were the one that said you were my husband.”
“Would you have preferred for Agent Dickbag to keep pushing?!”
You took a breath. “Javi…I don’t know if I can lie to her. What…what do I tell my family when they find out? This was just meant to keep people like Agent Dickbag away…”
Reading the panic all over your body, Javi stood and walked towards you until you were wrapped in his arms. “Hey, it’ll be okay. We’ll keep the secret up long enough to make sure nobody else finds out the truth, and then you can just say we rushed into things. We got a quick divorce and moved on, civilly.”
“I think you missed your calling in Acting.” You told him. “I think my mom already has your seal of approval.”
“Really?” He pulled back a little and smiled. “That’s a first.”
“We’ll be okay?”
He nodded. “We’ll be okay.”
And you believed him.
Because it was true.
In the space of about fifteen minutes, you and Javi managed to move some things from your apartment, into his to make it seem more…homely. Like two people actually lived there. Especially since your mom would be living in your apartment for the next couple of days until she flew back home to the rest of your family.
“Will she really check the bedroom?” Javi called from the kitchen.
You’d moved some things to the second bedside table. One or two books, a couple of hair-ties, plasters, “stray” pens. You tried your best to make it look believable as possible.
“You don’t know her like I do. This woman is Jessica Fletcher. Unsuspecting to the world, but in fact sees everything. Trust me, you do not want to end up in interrogation with my mother. Happened to a perp once. She came in to visit my dad but he was wrangling a couple of the officers so she walked around, found the perp sitting in holding and she actually got a confession out of him. Cops had been trying all day and nothing. A five minute conversation with my mother and they got a full written confession out of him.”
Javi gave a low whistle. “Wow.”
“Yeah. So, trust me, what I’m doing? It’s gonna, hopefully, save us some grief.”
Javi was still cooking by the time your mom knocked on his door and you brought her inside. Immediately her eyes scanned the place picking up on the pictures, books and music.
“It smells delicious.”
“He’s a good cook.”
And for the first couple of minutes everything ran smoothly. Your mother did everything you’d expected her to do. She even passed Javi in the kitchen to look into your bedroom.
“She really did it.” Javi mouthed.
“Told you so,” you mouthed back.
“Mom, do you wanna come and sit down? I can get you a drink.”
“I’ll have a soda if you have it, please.”
You got your mom a soda and poured it into a glass with ice, handing it to her as she stood still examining your home.
“So, how is he in bed?” She whispered a little too loud to you.
You felt yourself go bright red. Redder still when you heard Javi chuckle from the kitchen. “Mom!”
“What? I’m allowed to ask my daughter these questions. I need to know you’re being satisfied in every aspect of your marriage.”
You groaned and covered your eyes. “Mom.”
“You’re being careful? Using condoms? You know pulling out doesn’t work as birth control.”
You could have died. “Mom, please. Stop.”
Javi let out a small laugh as he walked from the kitchen and handed you a drink. “Mrs Y/l/n, if you really want to know-”
“Oh no. No, Javi, please. Please don’t encourage her.”
“We’re being safe. Having a family right now probably wouldn’t be the best move for either of us.”
Your mother just graced him with a soft smile. “Well, I’m glad to hear it.”
“I’m not,” you groaned a little. “Can we please change the conversation?”
“You know, she’s always been like this.” Your mom told Javi who only seemed to revel in your terror.
“Really? This isn’t a new thing?”
“No,” you mom told him. “She went just as red when I gave her the birds and the bees talk.”
“That’s because you decided to tell me in the middle of my middle school hallway during a Parent’s Evening.”
“And when I took her to the doctors to get her on the pill.”
You covered your face. “I’m in hell.”
Javi’s hand reached for your shoulder and shook you lightly as he sat on the arm of the chair beside you. You leaned into him.
“I’d finally got it out of her that she’d had sex and next-”
“And next thing I’m being wrangled into an office chair with the doctor having my mother shout from the rooftops her daughter was no longer a virgin.”
Your mom gasped. “It wasn’t like that,”
You leaned into your husband who’d just let out a small laugh. “Please make it stop.”
“Okay, I’ll drop it.”
“Thank you.”
“But I’m glad to know you’re being satisfied. Your face tells me more than you think.”
“Okay!” You stood up quickly and tried to run away, only to feel Javi’s hand reach out and pull you back, spinning you to stand by him. From the light red in his cheeks, he felt a little embarrassed, too, but he seemed to handle it a lot better than you.
He was chuckling. “Don’t think you’re able to run from this. I wanna know more about you from your mom.”
“Doesn’t mean I have to be here for it.” You tried to make a break for it again, but Javi caught you and for a moment, the rest of the room seemed to slowly disappear from sight as you found yourself trapped in his hands and arms, and his gaze on you, just as yours was on his. And for a moment, you wondered what it would be like if you kissed him.
Little did you know, he’d been thinking the exact same thing.
Then a timer went off.
“That’ll be the food.” Javi kissed a quick peck to your temple before standing and walking towards the kitchen, leaving your gaze to trail after him.
“You really do love each other,” your mom pointed out from her spot on the sofa. “I can see why you got married. You both need to tell me what your wedding was like!”
And so you did over dinner. With the added linger of whatever had happened when he’d pulled you closer to him.
You caught Javi looking at you a few times, and subsequently, he’d caught you, too. And, without rehearsal, you’d both managed to bullshit your way through explaining why you’d both decided to get married so quickly.
From you and Javi, your mother had learned you’d both met when you started in Columbia and you were both ‘friends’ for a while. Not much had to be lied about in that department. Javi’s reputation. Your “ability” to make every man that asked you out believe you were taken. How you’d worked together for a long time before becoming actual friends. Then the lies started…right?
About how you and Javi made a true friendship of sorts over the late nights working, swapping smaller stories until something changed.
“It was like…my heart had stopped and rebooted itself. Suddenly, everything felt like it had shifted and changed somehow.” Peña explained to your mom. “Nothing had ever been more…clearer and more daunting than ever.”
Then Javi looked at you, and you found a mirrored expression. Sadness? Confusion? Desperation? Fear? Realisation? You didn’t know what to call it, but whatever it was, you felt it. For some unknown reason, everything he’d just said rang true in your ears, your head and even your heart.
Nothing had ever been more clearer and more daunting than ever.
By the time your mom decided she was ready for bed, you were already fast asleep against Javi. At some point in the evening when he’d sat beside you, he’d slung his arm behind you and between the warmth and familiarity of him, you’d let yourself truly relax.
“I’ll walk you up.”
Your mom shook her head as Javi led her towards the door. “I know my way and you’re both tired. I’ll be okay. Get her to bed.”
Javi looked back at you for a moment and smiled.
“You really do love her.” It wasn’t a question, but a statement. Your mom smiled at her supposed son-in-law. “I understand why she fell for you, but I hope you know, just because you’re the first one of her boyfriends, well, husband now. But just because you’re the first I approve of, doesn’t mean I won’t be judging you. You look after her, and you look after her well. Love her everyday. It’s not every day someone gets to spend the rest of their lives with my daughter. I hope you see that as a privilege.”
Javi nodded. “Yes, ma’am, I do.”
Javi was telling the truth and your mom nodded. “Good. And thank you for dinner. Sleep well.”
“You, too, Mrs Y/l/n.”
Javi waited until he heard your apartment door lock before he shut his own, locked it and kicked off his shoes.
His socks padding his footsteps as he walked back to you, he was careful to pick you up before carrying you to bed and covering you up. You were still fast asleep by the time he climbed into bed beside you, but either way, you naturally rolled towards the slight dip in the bed before reaching out for him like you did almost every time he’d carried you to his bed because you’d fallen asleep in his apartment.
The only times he didn’t was when he fell asleep with you and woke up as the sun peeked through his blinds in his living room.
With a contented sigh, you slipped into a dreamless sleep beside him and for a few minutes, he laid awake, listening to your breathing. Then he let his mind slip back through the evening. If the funny feeling in his stomach and chest wasn’t what he hoped it was, but rather was what he suspected it to be, then he would have to soak up your actions as a married couple over the next couple of days before everything went back to semi-normal.
Because if he was right, and he was growing feelings for you, then these days would have to be enough. Your marriage with him and his marriage to you was meant to be for appearances, only. Nothing real was meant to come out of it, was it?
Because the feeling in his chest as he looked down at you, asleep by his side and in his arms…that feeling sure felt real.
Waking up in the morning, you felt more comfortable than usual. No creaky mattress spring giving you a sneak attack from beneath your sofa and into your back, no blinding light coming through curtains you’d forgotten to shut, no cold side to your bed as you turned over.
Instead, you felt warm. You found warmth.
Asleep on his front but his arm still across you, you found Javi. Fast asleep, seeming as though not even a gunshot would wake him.
And rather than jump out of bed or rollaway like you usually would when you found yourself in this position with any man, or even him going off the last couple of months.
You’d found yourself falling asleep countless times at Javi’s and the majority of the time, you woke up in his bed.
But waking that morning, especially after the night before, had something feeling different. So you took your time.
For the first time you…studied him.
You’d found yourself doing it more and more in recent months. How he sat in a chair, the look on his face when he was annoyed, amused, sometimes even scared.
And for the first time, maybe ever. He looked…
Peaceful.
As if it was a Sunday morning and neither of you had to get up for work. Like when he’d wake, you’d both spend the morning in bed before relaxing in your home.
And for a moment, you let yourself dream about that life. A life where there was no fear of maybe never coming home. A life where you could both…be peaceful. Happy.
Together, maybe?
After a few moments, you felt a gentle touch against your cheek, and slowly opening your eyes, you found Javi’s hand cupping your cheek, his fingers brushing soft patterns into your skin.
“Cariño…”
You smiled, finding comfort in the common nickname. “Hey.”
“You been awake long?”
You shook your head, softly. “Not long.”
“Good.” Javi then leaned over and pressed a soft kiss to your forehead. “Come here.”
Granting yourself permission to do as he said, Javi rolled over onto his back and pulled you into his side before he decided to ultimately face you.
Down your back, he traced a singular line back and forth as you both synced calming breaths and listened to the comfortable silence of the room.
“We could call in sick.” Javi said after ten minutes. “We’ve built up enough time to take the day off. You could show your mom ‘round.”
“We can’t,” you pointed out. “What about the case?”
“The case will still be there tomorrow. And besides, if something changes, they’ll call us in-”
Then you both heard the front door lock open.
“Javi-”
Pressing a finger to his lips, he sat up and so did you. Quietly, he moved over towards his bedside table and pulled out his gun before checking the bullets.
You both heard the door open and just as Javi was about to leap out of bed, you both heard your mother’s voice.
“Y/n? Javier? You two sleepy heads awake yet?!”
You let out a huge sigh of relief and sat back against Javi’s headboard. “Jesus Christ.”
“Your mom has a key?” Javi put his gun back and closed the draw as he looked back at you.
“I told you. Jessica Fletcher.” Then you called out to her. “Mom! We’re in here.”
Letting out a breath, Javi sat himself back beside you just as your mom walked into your bedroom. “Mom, you can’t just break in,” you told her, tiredly.
“I didn’t break in. I had a key.”
“Both of us could have shot you.”
Your mom looked over both of you and gave a coy smile. “Then it’s a good thing I called out then. You both look…well rested.”
It was too early to even pretend what she thought had happened, had happened. So, tearing your eyes from Javi, you looked to your mom. “Why are you here?”
“Because I have made breakfast for both of you since Javi cooked us such a wonderful dinner last night.”
“Mrs Y/l/n, you really didn’t-”
“Hush now. I was happy to do it. Now, chop chop.” Your mom clapped her hands. “There’s plenty of time for this,” she gestured to you, Javi and the bed, “later. Come on. Before the day is gone.”
And as she walked out, you felt yourself collapse into Javi’s sheets, already feeling your face go hot.
“She really doesn’t hold back, does she?”
“No.” Your voice was muffled through the sheets.
Ultimately, Javi convinced you to take the day off with him and after a homemade breakfast, yet another awkward conversation surrounding love-making in the shower – to which Javi nearly choked on his toast. Both you and Javi had showered (separately) before getting changed and deciding to show your mom around the different places in town.
And despite the stories shared by your mother; thankfully not all of them made you want a hole in the ground to open up the floor.
You also found spending the day with Javi, outside of work talk, to be more than pleasurable. With his hand in yours, or his arm around you, holding your own across your stomach, you’d both walked side by side for most of the day. He told your mom some things about Columbia even you didn’t know before, easily sharing some stories of his own childhood when your mom asked.
And you felt…glad, maybe? Like for the first time since moving to Columbia you were home. And it wasn’t just because your mom was there, but rather because of the person who stuck by your side all day, letting you see behind the personal walls he had up at work. The ones that, if you didn’t look closely, you wouldn’t know were even there.
Yet, despite the entire day feeling like one giant butterfly in your stomach at every touch, look and graze you felt from Javi, nothing made it feel like the tornado it was when your mom asked if she could film your ‘first dance’.
Dinner had been long over and the TV had shut down. In the background, a few different records played until one came on and your mother gasped.
“Oh, please. Please let me see your first dance. I love this song, and I’ve always imagined seeing you dance to it the way me and your dad do.”
From your side, Javi lifted his hand. It was up to you.
Looking at your mom’s face, you couldn’t say no. So, you nodded and both stood. Javi started the song from the beginning and turned back to face you. In a matter of moments, you were in his arms, your hand in his whilst your other lay on his arm. You could feel his firm hand at the bottom of your back, holding you up steadily.
Finally, leaning into each other, you could feel his moustache at the shell of your ear. “Do you trust me?”
“Yes.”
That was when you found out Javi could dance. At the very least, much better than you could. He led you around the small section of the floor, your temple’s still touching and for a small moment, you closed your eyes.
You’d also both forgotten anybody else was in the room other than you two. Breathing, heartbeats, pulse, chemistry. It all became one.
And just as the song slowed, Javi lifted his head to look at you. It was like there was a new light to you in the fading sunlight. New features he’d never noticed before. The small freckles dotted across your face, probably having surfaced after a day in the sun. The soft streaks of baby hairs framing your face. The arch and bow of your cupid’s bow and lips. The light flush in your cheeks as for a moment, he caught your eyes doing the same thing he was.
Looking. Gazing. Studying. All to commit it to memory.
Javier Peña, for as best as he’d known, he’d never been so scared in all of his life. But there was one final thing he wanted to commit to memory, whether it be good or bad. And if he didn’t do it then, he was afraid he never would. So, for the first time with you, he did what he wanted to do because, and he hoped, by the look on your face, you wanted it, too.
With the final few notes of the song, he leaned in and pressed a kiss to your lips. It was firm, steady, strong and then softer. The kind of kiss that you feel long after it’s over. Silence washed over the room as the record came to an end and you and Javi found yourselves looking at each other, only realising you weren’t alone when your mom gasped.
“Oh, that was just beautiful.” She stopped the recording. “Thank you so much for doing that for me.”
You and Javi seemed to step away from each other despite it being the last thing either of you wanted to do in that moment. It wasn’t long after that your mom decided to go upstairs to bed. And once Javi heard the door lock upstairs, he locked his own and took a moment before turning back around to find you.
But you were already trying to avoid the conversation that came next.
Javi took his time. You both needed a moment to find clarity. After the faucet had been running for a few minutes, only to be switched off by you as you washed the plates in the bowl of soapy water, Javi stood at the kitchen door.
He watched you for a moment, wondering what to say. What just happened? I’m sorry? He didn’t mean for it to…be that way? Did you feel it, too? Did you want it, too? Did he cross a line?
Then he realised he didn’t have to say anything at all.
You felt him before you heard him walk slowly across the kitchen floor and stand by your side. With a gentle hand guiding your arm, he spun you to face him and in the silence, your faces shared a thousand words between each other.
Javi brushed your hair from your face before gently cupping your face. It took enough time between each of his movements to let you object if you wanted to. You stepped closer into him.
Then he kissed you.
Having dropped the sponge into the sink, you felt yourself tumble against him as your own hands came to pull him closer towards you. Things seemed to move slightly quicker than before. His hands moving down your body to eventually lift you up and move you onto the counter top, his fingers pushing their way through your hair as your own pulled him in by his collar to kiss you once more.
With your legs wrapping around his waist, securing him against you, you let out a small sigh behind your kiss. Javi only chased those small noises more after you made your first one.
“J-Javi.” You managed to find your voice in between his kisses. “Wait.”
He stopped, forcing himself to pull his lips from yours. And for a moment, all you could hear was his breathing and your heartbeat. Both rapid. Both unsteady.
“We…we shouldn’t…”
His hands still tangled in your hair and his forehead against yours, he shook his head in agreement. “We shouldn’t be doing this.”
All either of you could do was breathe. Slowly. Trying to catch some form of air that was at least a close equivalent to the others.
Kissing you was like a lifeline, and without you he was dying.
His eyes finally gazing into yours, he found your own tracing his face, already reminiscing on the kiss, wanting more.
Kissing him was like life was finally being pushed back into your lungs, letting you breathe clearly for the first time and without him, nothing was in focus.
“Fuck it.”
His lips on yours again, he began to devour you and your taste. He could feel your hands pulling him closer to you, like if you’d let go of him, you’d drown.
He needed you more than he wanted to admit.
But you didn’t want him to hold back. So leaning away from his kiss for a moment, you made sure he focused on you.
“Bedroom.”
He was still drunk on your kiss. “Javi, I’m not fucking you on the kitchen counter. Bedroom.”
His lips curved onto a smirk as he pulled you towards the edge and lifted you up.
“Didn’t anyone tell you we’re married? Cariño, it’s called making love.”
You laughed and so did he before it was muffled out by another kiss.
By the time morning rolled around, you found yourself wrapped in Javi’s arms, his scent swirling around your senses, locking it into a memory you’d never forget. Even if you wanted to move, you couldn’t. From the arms wrapped around you, to the soreness in your legs, your body was too happily exhausted to move.
For the next few moments, you watched as he slept peacefully. His mouth parted slightly, simply looking at his mustache made you blush at the memories from barely a few hours previous. Tracing the curves of his face, you leaned over and pressed a light kiss to his cheek.
His arms twitched around you. “Javi, I need to use the bathroom.”
Still half asleep, he returned the next kiss you pressed to his lips before mumbling; “Come back.”
“I will,” you kissed him once more before climbing out of bed and heading towards the bathroom.
Whilst in the bathroom, you picked up the long forgotten towels on the floor and picked up the tossed body washes and shampoo bottles from Javi and your haphazard entry into the bathroom after the first two orgasms before the third.
However, you must have taken too long because as you stood at the bathroom skin, a newly familiar pair of arms made their way from holding your hips, to cradling around your waist.
You could feel the hair from his moustache as he kissed your bare shoulder, making his way towards your neck where you leaned back against his chest and placed a hand behind his own neck to hold you steady.
“Javi.”
One of his hands slowly made its way under your top before running his fingers from the top of your chest, across your breast and down below the waistband of your shorts.
“I missed you.” His tongue dampened the graze of his teeth against your neck.
“Javi.”
“Is this okay, baby?”
You bit your lip, your hips bucking against his fingers, chasing the pressure he was beginning to swirl around your clit. You hummed a response.
“I need your words, baby. Is this okay? Do you want this? Because I can stop.”
You shook your head quickly and wrapped your hand around his wrist before he pulled away any further. “No. Don’t stop.”
“Whatever you say, baby.”
With his fingers circling your clit and his mouth having free range of your neck, you felt your knees grow weak. “Want me to stop?”
Again, you shook your head. “I need…I need more, Javi.”
“How many, baby?”
“Two, ohh…” Your mouth opened and you threw your head back against his shoulder, reveling in his fingers slipping inside your cunt and his thumb applied pressure to your clit. Then you heard him chuckle.
“Asshole.”
“You fucking love it, baby.”
You did. You really did. It wasn’t long before Javi could feel your walls pulsing against his fingers, growing tighter for him. And his dick hadn’t even left his pants yet.
“You’re so fucking wet, cariño. This for me?”
You found the strength to nod. “Just for you, Javi baby.”
But whatever strength or control you had left disappeared as the wave began to crash over you and you chased Javi’s fingers as they pumped deeper and faster inside of you. “Ride ‘em, baby. Take what you want.”
You moaned his name, almost chanting it as you came over his fingers. “Fuck,” Javi growled. “You’re so fucking hot when you come.”
Letting out a breathy laugh, you felt the ache in your legs, still leaning against Javi.
“Then maybe you should do it again.”
Sharing a look with Javi, he smirked before biting down on your bottom lip, then kissing it better. Pulling his fingers from inside of you, he slowly spun you around by your hips until you faced him. Once he’d tasted everything he could from your mouth, he teasingly made his way across your jaw, down the length of your neck, under your clothing before pulling your soaked shorts down your legs, leaving your glistening and sensitive cunt for him to see.
Then he tasted the rest of you.
Pushing you onto the edge of the sink counter, you white-knuckled the edges in fear of gripping his hair too tight to pull him closer to where you needed him.
You could feel the burn of his moustache against your inner thighs, panty-line before finally his tongue circled your already sensitive clit.
“Fuck, Javi.”
“You like that, baby?”
You nodded, “Fuck. Yeah.”
“Want more?”
“Y…yes. Javi, please.” Your hips bucked as you chased the feeling of his tongue licking your pussy. “Fuck, Javi.” You let out a gasp as his tongue dipped inside of you for a moment. “Fuck, right…right there.” With one of your hands tangled in his hair, you pushed him closer in order to taste all of you.
And just as you leaned back to grant him more access, he pulled back. You whimpered, wanting him back. “Touch yourself.”
“Javi-”
“I want to see how long you can hold it before I fuck you. Touch yourself.”
So you did. All the while watching him take his sweet time watching you as he pulled down his own underwear and pulled a condom on, pumping himself a couple of times before finally settling closer to you.
“I want to watch you cum again.” And so he did.
Filling you with his dick, inch by inch, he felt you stretch around him, swearing as you took him in. And then he took his time with you. Reveling in every needy buck of your hips, chasing his dick before he couldn’t hold back anymore. He needed you just as much as you were begging for him.
Moaning his name over and over as your orgasm hit you, Javi watched as you came over his dick, him finishing not long after you did.
Sweaty and covered in sex, Javi pushed the fallen hair from your face and kissed your lips after the silence had settled away from heavy breathing and racing hearts. “We should get cleaned up.”
Pulling his cock from inside of you, he disposed of the condom before walking towards the shower and turning it on. And over the next forty minutes, Javi’s hands were all over your naked body before his fingers tugged at your hair as the tiles of the floor made indents in your knees. By the time you’d both finished, gotten washed and finally dressed, Javi was changing the sheets as you placed the ones from the night before inside his washer.
For the rest of the day, Javi rarely left your side.
Going back out to the markets with your mom, his hands were constantly finding ways to touch you. His hand pinching onto the skirt of your summer dress, his fingers grazing against your hip and lower back as he changed from standing on one side of you to the other. Holding your hand around you, his arm across your shoulders, his lips in your hair, on the shell of your ear as he talked to you. And when you’d stopped inside a cafe, he sat next to you, his arm across the back of your chair which practically was sitting in between his legs as his body was constantly turned towards you.
And when you’d both finally gotten home, your mom saying she was going for a nap, the moment Javi’s door shut, the bags were dropped and your back was against the wall of his hallway, his lips on yours. “I’ve been wanting to do that all day.”
“So have I.”
Then a question fell from your lips. “How are we going to keep this up? At work, I mean.”
“They already think we’re married.” He kissed your neck.
“I’m being serious, Javi.”
“So am I.”
“Javi, Messina already warned us what would happen if she ever caught us. And that was before we were even…” A couple? Fucking? Dating? Married?
Javi smiled. “So we keep it a secret.”
“Says the guy who can’t keep his hands off me for more than two seconds. You’ll never be able to keep it a secret.”
“Says the woman whose been eye-fucking me all day. Are you sure you can keep a secret?”
“I can keep a secret.” Then Javi noticed your coy smile. “In fact, I’ve been keeping one all day.”
Taking his hand in yours, you pressed his hand to the dip of your hips. He couldn’t feel anything but fabric. Then it hit him. With his chest flaring and his dick hardening, he stepped closer towards you.
“Mrs Peña…have you been naked under that dress all day?”
You bit your lip. “Why don’t you find out for yourself?”
His eyes flicking to the hem of your dress, he looked back up at you before slowly dragging the fabric of its skirt up and bunching it in his hand until he could slip his hand under it. And when he was met with bare skin, he swore.
“Fuck.”
“I’ve been hoping you’d fuck me all day,” you admitted. “I wanted to be ready.”
“Since you walked out of that fucking bedroom in this dress…I’ve wanted to fuck you in it.”
Pulling him closer to you, your voice turned into a low whisper. “Then you better get on with it, Agent Peña. Before I do it myself.”
He didn’t have to be told twice. Capturing your lips on his, his finger coaxed at your pussy, already feeling your wetness build for him. As his fingers began to curl inside of you, you let out a moan before your fingers deftly unbuckled his belt and jeans. Javi let out a small whimper as your fingers stroked down his cock, wiping the pre-cum away with your thumb before finally pumping him a few times.
“Take it easy, baby. Otherwise I’m not gonna- fuck.”
With one hand, Javi picked you up where you stood, his fingers digging into your ass before he guided his tip in. Letting out a moan by his ear, you told him to start moving.
“Fill me up, baby.”
And he did.
Fucking you against the wall in his hallway, Javi pulled the top of your summer dress down and began leaving his mark across your collarbone and down the bow of your breast, all the while his cock pumped in and out of you before filling you up with him cum.
“That’s it baby,” Javi told you as you screamed his name as you rode his dick. Then he watched you come. He’d never get sick of that sight. It seemed to get hotter each time. You begging him for more, your moans, his name falling from your lips as he makes you unravel completely.
But he wasn’t done with you yet. Pulling out from you, he moved you both down the hallway and towards the sofa where he made you come again before moving into the kitchen where he finally fucked you senseless on the kitchen counter.
Both of you wished it could have continued like that forever, but sadly after your shower, both you and Javi were interrupted by the jingle of keys in the door as your mom let herself in before you and Javi could continue your heavy make-out session on the sofa.
But that was something you both had to get used to.
Interruptions.
From people banging on the copier room door thinking it was jammed, to people walking back into the office after their lunch breaks. But despite the ever growing need to constantly be touching him, or him touching you, you’d both found subtler ways to show how much you not only wanted each other, but also needed each other.
From the smaller touches when he always found an excuse to stand beside you, to the ever longing looks you both gave to each other as the other one walked away from the desks. There were crappy cups of coffee always being poured, lunches being made and shared, blankets being used to cover up the one that fell asleep first, the knowing looks when a case load became too much, the soft moments spent after a long day of work just laying together on the sofa watching crappy TV and falling asleep, dancing to slower records on down-days, quick kisses goodbye during lunch or during a stakeout for cases, jealous and warning glares being given to those who tried to flirt with the other, and finally slow Sunday mornings that were spent inside the apartment, neither of you leaving unless for a dire emergency.
And somewhere between all of that, you and Javi had taken a flight to your home where your family and his watched as you both swore actual wedding vows to each other; your wedding party not realising it was the first time for both of you.
Maybe it had taken a while for you both to come together, and maybe it wasn’t the most conventional of get-togethers. But it was yours and Javi’s story. One that, the more you thought about it, started off with those softer moments. One that always had, and always would, contain those smaller touches and simple gestures.
BABY FEVER 🍼
genre. husband!heeseung x wife!reader
warnings. tooth-aching fluff, smut, fingering, eating out, unprotected s*x, impreg kink (!!!), bath time aftercare, i believe that’s it.. wc -> 2.1k
“i’m gonna put a baby in you someday,” your husband casually says while rubbing your stomach.
“in this cute little tummy right here,” he points near your belly button, planting a small kiss to it.
you two were finally alone after heeseung offered to help your parents move and rearrange some of the new furniture that arrived today. you had decided to stay at your family’s beach house over the summer for a change of scenery as you hadn’t been here since you were a teenager, let alone seen your parents in person since last year.
this wasn’t the first time he’s said something like this and it surely won’t be the last, but you burst into a giggle, “quit kidding around, hee.”
he’s always playing around but you can count on one hand how many times he’s actually finished inside you, since you’re not on birth control for health reasons you have to be extra careful to not end up getting pregnant.
there’s been a handful of times where he’s had to run to the store and get you a morning after pill which you’d just hope for the best and leave it up to the universe. you have noticed that heeseung has been more vocal about wanting children lately, so maybe he’s hinting at finally taking the next step.
“and if i told you i wasn’t?” he shifts slightly, eyes flickering up to stare into your gaze. “would you let me paint your walls? give you a baby so i can see my pretty wife bear our children?”
the thought of you carrying his child pops into his head a lot, probably on an hourly basis—he’s more than ready to start a family, but he’s still not sure where you stand 100% on the idea. there was no pressure on his side, but it’s important to make sure you’re both on the same page.
your hands snake up to his chin, cupping it firmly, ready to make the final say once and for all. “yes hee, i’ll let you do anything to me. i trust you, i trust us.”
you’ve never trusted someone as much as you do heeseung, he’s the reason you even get out of bed in the morning, makes you want to push yourself to become a better person. real love is the refusal to never give up on one another, even through the toughest, most ugliest moments.
what you’ve come to realize is that you have all of him and everything he’s promised to provide is all yours; his heart, his last name, his vow to stay by your side forever— through sickness and health. he’s given every single aspect of himself he has to offer, the only thing left that’s missing is a tiny addition that carries both you and heeseung’s DNA. you’re more than curious to see what the outcome will be, harboring no regrets inside. heeseung’s smile grew wider, feeling faint tears rim his eyes at the thought of you putting all your trust in him. you have no idea just how much that means to him.
his head lowers back to your torso, imprinting a trail of kisses, slowly making his way down further and further. your skin feels as if it’s on fire, boiling hot like the scorching summer heat.
he took an ample amount of time to worship your body, leaving wet kisses to your inner thighs, “i’ve wanted this for so long…” he hums against you, insides buzzing with raw passion and desire. “want to finally do this together,” he gently nibbles, a faint bite mark appears to which he repeats on the other side.
“your tits are gonna get even bigger, more plump and so full of milk,” he continues, elated with so much enthusiasm, “that pregnancy glow will make you even more gorgeous.” he wasn’t saying all of this for nothing, he truly cannot wait to experience it all, how your belly will grow each month, all the random/weird food cravings you’ll get, and gracefully handle any sudden mood swings you may have.
you were aching for him, you couldn’t even answer back, your heads reeling with too many thoughts— the thought of him stuffing you to the brim with his cock. you were topless but wanted him to take off the rest, wanted him to fuck you until your body physically shakes and you can’t think of anything but him being buried balls deep into your sousing cunt. you had to savour every last bit of this though, etch every little detail in your brain to replay as a supercut one day; remembering the time you two made love to conceive your first child.
heeseung’s slender digits move skillfully to hook around the waistband of your shorts, tugging them down along with your drenched panties. “it’s crazy to me how this is all mine,” he pauses to admire your glistening arousal, scooping it up with his one of his fingers to have a quick taste— saccharine.
“i have the prettiest, sexiest, hottest wife in the whole fucking world.” he’ll never not compliment you, even when you’re old and gray he will always remain the same.
“oh stopp,” you toy with your bottom lip, feeling your cheeks grow hotter and hotter by his constant sweet talk. then you become a pile of mush, simply too absorbed with pleasure as he sunk one of his digits into you, thrusting in and out slowly.
“fuck.. feels s’good- please don’t stop.” you beg for this to never end, bidding all concept of time to vanish in hopes of it lasting infinitely.
“we’re going to create the most beautiful family,” he coos, licking a stripe to your clit, swiping up and down as he continued pumping his fingers in your wetness, “just you and me.”
he only came up for air to say those last few lines, diving right back in to drink up your deliciousness. his tongue adds light pressure to your overly sensitive bud, making you twitch and subconsciously jolt up— his free hand forcibly brings your hips back down, locking you in place so you have nowhere to go— forced to take all that he gives you. paradise. that’s what this is. you’re already close to the edge, the broken moans that escaped your lips are like a soft ballad to his ears, cursing under your breath, panting, crying out his name repeatedly.
“ah! s’close… don’t stop, don’t stop..” you plea so pathetically, voice getting shakier as you reach your climax, his face was soaked, fucking drenched.
he’ll willingly drown, submerge himself into the flood of you, no other place he’d rather be than between these perfect, plush thighs. he drives you into further insanity when his pace drew more rapid, finding the ultimate sweet spot. the lethal combination of his fingers and his tongue working to give you a mind blowing orgasm, all you could do was utter feeble, plaintive cries, latching onto his fluffy hair as you ride out your sudden high that’s stampeding into you full force. your body goes inert, limbs pliant beneath his embrace.
“you did so good for me angel, so proud of you.” heeseung briefly pecks both your thighs, giving it a little smack once he comes back up to face you again.
he quickly discards the rest of his clothes, but everything’s moving in slow motion. his movements are frantic yet it still wasn’t quick enough, he needs to feel you so badly. his manhood throbs against your folds, sliding his shaft between the puffy, saturated lips, making such delightful sounds.
“quit teasin’,” you whine, not in the mood for prolonging this anymore.
he doesn’t say anything, just twisting a smile in response, but he’ll give you exactly what you want. who is he to deny his wife’s orders? so he finally enters you, filling you up little by little, inch by inch; and when he’s fully settled in, your walls cinch around his length immediately.
“never fails to amaze me how i fuck this little pussy on the daily but you’re still so fuckin’ tight… always squeezin’ me babe.” his breath hitched towards the end, already sounding so pussydrunk from the way you suck in the entirety of him.
your legs hook around each side of his waist, keening at the way his cock drives into you, slow but sensual, moving your hips to match his rhythm.
“be a good girl and wait for me. wanna cum together.” he husks, to which you obediently nod at his request.
your jaw slacks open wide from his cock hitting your walls beautifully, each stroke he gave sent you to a further state of delirium. he picks up his speed a little more, his brain empty with no thoughts but this warm, dewy pussy swallowing him up, groaning as you leave scratches along his back. heeseung’s sweet compliments never stop, they only intensify.
‘you’re all mine, and i’m all yours baby’
‘your face looks so pretty when it’s all fucked out’
‘love fucking this perfect little cunt’ and ‘i love you so much, my angel baby.’
it brings you to the verge, strings of shattered moans evade your senses.
your hands greedily come up the sides of his face, pulling him in for a frenzied, yet passionate kiss caging him in just in case he has second thoughts, trapping him with no choice but to cum inside.
“shit— keep going like that and you’re def getting pregnant tonight.” he groans against your lips, this only made you clench around him tighter,
“please- wan’ your cum, put your babies in me..” you want him to paint your walls white, milk him for all he’s worth and some.
his strokes get sloppier as his high approaches, squeezing your thighs as he plunges deeper. it doesn’t take much longer for him to shoot his load inside, planting every bit of his seed as the waves of your second orgasm ripples through you. you’re both heavily panting and gasping for air, when he pulls out you’re left empty again, but at least you were stuffed with his hot cum. he looks down at the mess he’s made, sodden and creamy, picking up some that’s spilled out of your cunt to push back in.
“we can’t let any go to waste, right ?”
“mm… yea.” you bit your lip, still shaking, static electricity flowing through your veins.
he topples over in exhaustion, way too tired to move. well, at least for now— he’ll be able to go again in another hour or so.
“you’re going to be such an amazing mom,” he says while snuggling up in the crook of your neck.
“remember the day i asked you out? i thought you were gonna say no.” that was random… but when it comes to heeseung, he was practically known for saying the most unexpected shit at the oddest times.
“what?” you were so confused, firstly this came out of nowhere, but also why would he ever think that? it was basically love at first sight with each other.
“wasn’t nearly as confident back then, i used to practice in the mirror how i’d do it.” he chuckles at those old memories, in hindsight none of it was necessary because he didn’t say any of the lines he rehearsed. defeated the whole purpose.
“since the day we first met i knew you were the girl i’d spend the rest of eternity with.” his fingers trace down your spine as he spoke, you’re so overfilled with joy that you could cry. you regret absolutely nothing, the only thing you do is all the other men who came before heeseung, all those losers who were wastes of time, but that journey has led you here and this is where you’ll stay for the rest of your life. it still feels like the honeymoon stage with him, a never ending blissful rollercoaster.
he’s a romantic at heart just like you, he still writes occasional love letters to you and is always doing something to bring a smile to your face— whether it be coming home with your favorite candy, buying you flowers, or taking you out on cute, fun dates. every day is like a new surprise, never knowing what you’re gonna get when it comes to your husband’s spontaneity.
you’re both a little sticky, sweaty, and smell of nothing but pure sex. heeseung ends up carrying you all the way to the bathroom, deciding to run a nice, relaxing bath for the two of you. he adds your favorite lavender bubble bath, making the water extra bubbly and soapy for you which he knows you love.
when you’re both in the bathtub, your backs facing him as he uses a loofah to clean you up, embedding gentle kisses to the nape of your neck and shoulders as he does it. he held you for what seemed like forever, just admiring each other’s company while under the water, almost falling asleep right in his arms.
You had a blind date. On Valentine’s Day.
And they didn’t show up.
You had never felt so stupid in your life. Apparently, the only free day that you and your date had was on Friday. February 14th. Go figure.
The waiter had already come by 3 times to ask if you were ready to order or if you were going to leave. They didn’t say specifically to leave but you got the gist. Another person to take up their time and tips.
Frustrated tears began in the corner of your eyes while you packed your belongings, eager to get out of the humiliation of other couples stares and the cheap paper heart decor lining the restaurant.
This guy your friend set you up with seemed perfect. On paper at least. Kind, funny, flirty, and more is what she promised you.
It wasn’t until you were almost standing out of your booth that a very handsome man in a suit strode over in a huff. Mutton chopped beard and biceps for days, as he looked you in the eyes. God, his eyes were so blue.
“I apologize darling, I came straight from work and traffic was a nightmare.”
He kissed your cheeks quickly like an old friend.
“I wanted to message ya, but I didn’t think the cops would appreciate someone texting and driving on Valentine’s Day.”
Maybe that softened your heart. Just a little.
“You’re almost 45 minutes late.”
“It’ll be the first and last time I’ll ever be late, darling.”
You couldn’t help the grin that spread across your face slowly that time.
John, as he introduced himself, was kinder than you thought he’d be. Flirty at just the right moments and careful with his words, like he wanted to make sure you knew he meant every single word.
The date went amazingly well, he even made you giggle so much that you snorted and immediately felt embarrassed about it. He said he’d take that as a compliment as he pulled your hands away from your mouth.
Just as desert rolled around, you excused yourself to the bathroom and texted your friend, lettering her know you’re having an amazing time with John. Her next text came in just as you finished washing your hands.
who’s john?
Coming back to sit down at the booth, you immediately asked;
“You’re not my actual blind date, are you?”
He stopped mid chew of his chocolate torte, gaze flicking up to yours. Like a kid caught in a cookie jar.
“No, darling. I’m not. I actually had a take out order here but when I saw the prettiest bird in my life alone at a table, I couldn’t leave her.”
Your anger rose just a tad.
“So this was a pity date.”
“No.” He was so firm in his answer.
“I’d have asked you out anywhere if we crossed paths earlier but you were already dressed, sitting here waiting. I couldn’t pass on this golden opportunity, could I?”
Now you were glad that your actual date never showed up. John proved to be so much better, in more ways than one.
no one else, ever ── pedro pascal .✦
content: established marriage, wife!reader gets jealous of Dakota Johnson after a flirty interview, but tries to brush it off. Pedro notices and gently reassures her. comforting, tender, full of love.
---
It wasn’t that you didn’t trust him. You trusted Pedro with your life. With your whole heart. He was your heart.
But watching the interview back—him and Dakota, sitting way too close on that stupid couch, sharing inside jokes and laughing in sync—did something to your stomach that felt like jealousy... but meaner.
The kind that twists. The kind that gets quiet.
You didn’t say anything when he got home that night. You kissed him hello, helped him take off his jacket, asked how it went like you hadn’t already watched the clip three times with the volume on full blast. He answered, smiling, distracted, oblivious. Told you he was starving. You made pasta. You pretended to be fine.
But he noticed. Of course he did. He always did.
Halfway through dinner, he put his fork down and tilted his head. “Alright. Talk to me.”
You blinked. “What?”
“You’ve barely looked at me since I walked in. You’re quiet.”
You forced a smile. “I’m just tired.”
“Mm-mm.” He leaned forward, elbows on the table. “Try again.”
Your chest tightened. You hated how transparent you were to him. And you hated how not transparent that girl was—so cool, so breezy, the way she touched his arm when she laughed. Like she could just have him, if she wanted.
“It’s dumb,” you said, voice small.
Pedro was already standing. Already walking around the table to kneel in front of you, resting his warm hands on your thighs like an anchor. “I don’t care. Tell me anyway.”
You sighed, eyes stinging a little now, and that only annoyed you more. “I saw the interview.”
He blinked. Then his face softened. “With Dakota?”
You nodded.
“And?”
“I don’t know,” you said, hating the shake in your voice. “It was just… the way she looked at you. The way you looked at her.”
Pedro was quiet for a second. Then he exhaled a small laugh, completely disbelieving. “Mi amor. C’mon.”
“I said it was dumb,” you whispered.
“No, no, no,” he said quickly, reaching for your hands. “It’s not dumb if it made you feel like this.”
You looked down, and he lifted your chin gently.
“Baby. I love you. You. You’re my home. You’re the reason I smile when I’m tired. You’re the person I call when something good happens, or when nothing happens at all. There’s not a single woman on earth—not one—that could ever change that.”
You swallowed hard. “She’s just so—”
“She’s not you.” He kissed your knuckles. “I don’t want flirty banter. I want burnt toast at midnight and you in my hoodie telling me I’m too old for Twitter.” You laughed, wet and breathless. “I want this. You. Right here.”
Then he pulled you into his arms. You held him tight, your fingers curling in his shirt, letting yourself finally melt.
“Just... needed to hear it,” you mumbled into his neck.
“I’ll say it every day if I have to,” he promised. “I’ll write it on your mirror. I’ll tattoo it on my forehead.”
“Please don’t,” you sniffled, giggling.
He smiled against your cheek. “Then let me show you, hermosa. Every day. I’m yours.”
And that night, he did. In every way he knew how
Phone Calls (the right timing)
Crimson mist writhed like serpents through the half-demolished warehouse. Crates exploded, metal clashed, and panicked mercenaries scattered like insects under a magnifying glass. In the center of the chaos stood Sylus—calm, graceful, terrifying. One hand in his pocket, the other glowing with spiraling black-red as his evol finishes it's dirty work. He effortlessly dodged an incoming blade with a tilt of his head.
“Was that supposed to hurt?” he drawled, eyes gleaming with bored cruelty. “Try again.”
Just as the poor fool lunged—
Bzzzzzz— His phone buzzed.
(Name).
The second her name flashed on the screen, Sylus blinked—and smiled.
“Ah,” he murmured. “My sweet wife’s calling.”
The next moment was surreal.
The entire warehouse froze. Literally.
His evol lashed out in every direction like a net, suspending men midair, trapping them in red-black tendrils, halting time for everyone except himself. Blades stopped inches from his body, bullets hung in the air like glinting beads of rain.
Sylus stepped back, brushing invisible dust off his coat with the elegance of someone about to enter a gala, and answered the call—his voice switching from cold to buttery soft in a millisecond.
“Kitten,” he purred, smiling now, “what a lovely surprise.”
On the other end of the line, his wife’s voice was casual but suspicious.
“Are you outside? I heard a boom just now”
“Hmm?” he hummed innocently, turning slightly to glance at the half-exploded vehicle and the mess behind him. “Ah, that? Construction noise. Faulty pipes. You know how busy the N109 Zone is.”
“Uh-huh. You better not be mid-fight again, especially at this hour.”
Sylus leaned against a splintered crate with all the grace of a lazy dragon, ignoring the floating thugs. “Sweetheart, you wound me. I’m not even sweating.”
“I called because Staryus ate your socks again. I told you to keep them in the closed drawer... Now i'm affraid i have to take him to the vet again for another check up. Anyway, what do you want for dinner Sysy?”
His voice dropped with affection, smug even. “You. Wrapped in an apron and nothing else.”
“Sylus.”
He chuckled. “Fine, fine. Surprise me, kitten. I’ll be home in twenty.”
“You better be. And no scratches this time, I don't want to see my husband with a single drop of blood onsight.”
“Not a mark, and not a single drop,” he promised, smiling fondly.
The moment she hung up, his entire personality changed again.
He turned back to the frozen thugs, cracking his neck, his tone slipping into lazy menace. “Right. Now… where were we?”
With a flick of his fingers, the world unpaused.
And the men screamed.
HAIII DID U GUYS MISSED ME!! I'm sorry i was on vacay for a week so i wasn't able to upload anytime askjdnsakjdas, anyways ITS ALMOST MY BOY'S BDAY!! how sweetheart!reader and single!dad!rafe met
sweetheart!reader mlist
cw: fluff, mutual pining, readers childhood trauma
it was late tuesday afternoon when rafe walked into rosie's diner, the neon signs buzzing softly in the window as the sun dipped low behind the buildings. he had his daughter lizzie cradled on one hip, her tiny arms crossed tightly, her little face scrunched into the saddest pout rafe had ever seen.
her favorite glitter dress, the one she wore every chance she got, had torn earlier that day when she tripped while chasing butterflies in the park. the rip wasn't even that bad, but to a four-year-old, it may as well have been the end of the world.
rafe had definitely faced tougher days. stressful meetings, custody battles, even the lonely ache of single fatherhood, but somehow nothing compared to the heartbreak of his four-year-old daughter sitting across from him in a diner booth, blinking away fat tears over a torn glitter dress.
he had tried everything. promise of a new dress, a bigger one, a more colorful one, even offered to let her choose two. but nothing seemed to make it better. lizzie sat with her arms crossed tightly over her chest, lower lip pushed out and trembling. her little unicorn purse tossed beside her.
rafe rubbed the back of his neck, trying again. "sweetie, i promise we'll find another glittery dress. maybe an even shinier one. how about that?" lizzie sniffled and looked away. "it wasn't just a dress, dada." she muttered. "it was the one."
he sighed and leaned back against the booth, running a hand down his face. he loved this little girl with every part of him, but he never quite figured out how to fix the kind of heartbreak only a glitter dress could cause.
rafe looked around the diner, trying to distract himself from the weight pressing on his chest. the place had an old-school charm. checkered floors, soft golden lighting, a jukebox in the corner humming faintly. cozy, familiar. it was supposed to help. but right now, all he could see was his daughter’s tear-streaked cheeks. and then you appeared.
sweetheart.
you moved through the diner like you belonged in the 50’s. red lipstick, soft curls tucked behind one ear, a notepad in hand and an expression that warmed the air around you. you took one look at lizzie and didn't say a word about the tears or the pout.
instead, you crouched down to eye level, resting your elbows lightly on the edge of the table. you had seen a lot of pouts and tantrums during your shifts at rosie’s, but there was something about this little girl just sitting there, silently mourning her torn dress, that tugged at something deep in your chest. it reminded you of yourself.
you remembered being small, wishing someone would notice when your world cracked a little. but no one had, not back then. so now, when you saw that kind of sadness in a child, it became your mission to fix it, even if just for a moment.
you analyzed the little girl for a bit before speaking, your voice soft. “well hey there, pretty girl,” you said, tilting your head to meet lizzie’s eye. "looks like someone could use a little magic today." lizzie peeked at you with red-rimmed eyes and gave a silent nod.
and yet your smile didn’t waver. “you know, i have a secret weapon for days like this. pancakes. but not just any pancakes.. they’re probably the best ones in town.” lizzie didn't answer at first, but a tiny spark of interest flickered behind her wet lashes.
rafe blinked, watching the scene unfold like it was something out of a dream. his daughter didn’t usually warm up to strangers. but lizzie was listening. her pout was still there, but her eyes weren’t as glassy.
"aaand," you leaned in with a whisper, "i’ll even ask the kitchen to give your pancake extra sparkles. but shhh, don't tell anyone. it’s only for the bravest girls." lizzie gave the tiniest smile.
it was small, like barely a shift, but rafe noticed it immediately. and he felt something in his chest loosen. he cleared his throat. “that, uh… that actually sounds pretty good. for both of us.”
you straightened, your doe eyes meeting rafe’s blue ones for the first time and he could feel it. there was something about the way you handled the moment, all gentle and not patronizing, playful without being pushy.
you chuckled and scribbled on your notepad. "coming right up!” as you walked away, rafe couldn’t stop watching you. he should’ve been focusing on lizzie and on patching up the day, but for a moment, he let himself just look.
at the way you gently teased a smile out of a stranger’s kid. at the quiet strength in your posture. at the way you moved like you had learned to carry yourself with pride, even if it hadn’t always been easy. there was something about you that felt safe, and he wasn’t sure why that thought unsettled him as much as it comforted him.
you busied yourself behind the counter, assembling the plate of freshly baked pancakes in your special way. it was silly, really. but you took extra care with this one. some extra whipped cream, adjusting the blueberries and strawberry slices and adding some of your secret sprinkles and glitter, the ones u always hid in the corner of the counter.
you didn’t know their story. but you didn’t have to. that man looked like he hadn’t had a break in a long time. and that little girl? she had that kind of sadness that you wanted to fix so damn bad. when you returned and placed the plate down in front of lizzie, the little girl gasped, eyes wide as saucers. “he’s got a whipped cream mustache!” she squealed.
there it is, you thought. the first smile of the day. it was always like that. fixing sadness, especially in little ones, felt like stitching something back together. no one had ever done that for you when you were small, when you cried yourself to sleep in a cluttered room, pretending not to hear your parents fight in the next one.
no one had ever knelt down and made you feel like your sadness mattered. so now, when you saw a tear-streaked child, your heart instinctively moved toward them. you couldn’t not care. it was built into you.
rafe’s head tilted in disbelief at his daughters sudden change of heart. that sound, his daughter’s sweet laugh, was like oxygen. he looked up at you, awe and gratitude written all over his face. “you’re magic,” he said, half-joking but entirely serious.
you just smiled, your cheeks dusting with pink. “not at all,” you replied. “just pancakes.” but something shifted between the two of you in that moment. the man hadn’t said much. just sat there for most of the time, trying so hard to hold it together, trying even harder to soothe a little heartbreak that he couldn’t quite fix with words or promises.
you could see the wear on him. the way his shoulders slumped just slightly, like he carried a hundred things that no one ever asked about. the tiredness around his eyes wasn’t just from a long day. no, it was something deeper.
a man who was used to pushing through. a man who had probably stopped letting himself want anything just for him a long time ago. but he was still here. still showing up. still kneeling beside a tiny, brokenhearted girl and offering kisses and soft-spoken comfort. that kind of love wasn’t flashy. it was quiet, steady, constant.
and god, it made your heart ache in the best way. because you never had that. no father who bent down and kissed your scraped knees. no one who promised to make it better, even when they didn’t know how. watching him love his daughter like that, without hesitation or pride, just pure devotion, it stirred something in you. he was trying. and you admired the hell out of that.
you turned to tend to other tables, but rafe’s eyes followed you, unable to look away. you felt yourself blush under the weight of his gaze, but you didn’t waver. instead, you offered him a small, knowing smile. the kind that said, i see you. you’re doing better than you think. and from that day on, rafe and lizzie became regulars at the diner.
maybe it was the pancakes. maybe it was the way lizzie would always ask, “is the pretty lady here today?” or maybe it was because rafe despite himself, wanted to keep seeing you, the woman with the cherry-red lipstick and a heart that seemed to understand the language of both children and tired men.
and deep down he knew it was never just about the pancakes. it was about the way you made the world feel a little gentler. a little warmer. a little more like home.
You Came, You Called || LN4
Summary: when strangers follow you from the nightclub there’s only one person you want to call.
Warnings: angst, threatening behaviour, fluff
WC: 2.4K
Lando stirred at the sound of his phone ringing on the bedside table. There were few people who could get past the ‘do not disturb’ setting that came into effect after midnight. With bleary eyes he reached for the phone and cringed at the bright light in his face but the sight of your name chased away his exhaustion.
It had been 162 days since you last spoke to him. It had been 162 days since he had ruined everything. He regretted his foolishness for every single one of those days and his stomach flipped at the thought of hearing your voice.
“Hey,” he answered, a flinch following as his voice cracked from lack of use while he slept. He quickly cleared it before trying again. “Hey.”
“Hey, baby.”
Alarm bells rang in his head and he sat up straight. Had you called the wrong man? That thought soured in his mouth.
“I’m on my way home.”
It wasn’t your unsteady voice he was focused on but the male voices that sounded far too close for his liking. “Aw, don’t call your boyfriend. We only want to talk.”
“Where are you?” Lando was already pulling on a pair of sweatpants and grabbing the first shirt he came across. “Are you okay?”
“No,” you whispered with a tremble in your tone. “I miss you.”
“Tell me where you are, sweetheart. I’m on my way.”
“Come on, gorgeous, it’s just a bit of fun,” a man called out and Lando saw red when he heard you choke back a sob. He knew the sound because he had been the reason for it before, and it had haunted him ever since. “He doesn’t have to know.”
“I’m heading towards Chocolat Boutique, please hurry.”
“I’m coming, sweetheart. I’m on my way.” Lando was already racing down to the garage and jumping in his McLaren. The engine roared loudly in the underground space before he tore out onto the street. “Keep talking to me, okay?”
The small store would have closed hours ago, but it was down the street from Jimmyz nightclub which was where you probably had been. He didn’t even know you were in town, and he didn’t have a right to know your whereabouts anymore.
“I’m scared, Lan.” The pain echoed around him as his phone connected to the car and played in surround sound.
“I know you are, but it’s going to be okay. I’m almost there, I promise.” He didn’t care about speeding tickets or running red lights. He flew through the narrow streets as he was forced to listen to the cat calls.
“I didn’t know who to call,” you admitted as you tried to walk faster but your heels hindered any escape. The three men were getting closer but they were in no hurry as they prowled both sides of the street to herd you along.
“You can always call me, love,” Lando swore, taking the last turn fast enough for the tires to squeal in protest. “And I’ll always answer.”
He found you on the footpath clutching your phone to your ear, hand cupped over the microphone as you spoke to him. Fear had widened your eyes and your normal stature cowered under the gaze of the men behind you.
Twisting the steering wheel, Lando skidded to a halt beside you and threw the door open. You had seen him angry before, when races don’t go his way, but this was beyond anger. Waves of rage rolled off him as you leapt into his arms, your trembling form finding itself molding perfectly back into his body. Two puzzle pieces slotting back together.
“I got you, sweetheart,” he soothed as he cradled the back of your head and glared over your shoulder. “You’re safe now.”
He might not have been the most imposing figure but you knew Lando was strong and regularly had boxing lessons for training. You had no doubt that if anything escalated he would use every lesson to protect you, but the cowards shrank back into the shadows of the shops.
“Let’s get you home.”
You were in such a state of shock that you didn’t see Lando wince at his mistake. You hadn’t called his apartment home for 162 days, not since you packed your bags and left. But right now you longed for that place where you had felt so safe and secure, tangled in his sheets and he curled his body around yours.
He opened the passenger door and reluctantly stepped out of your embrace to guide you into the seat. The doors locked as he started the engine and you exhaled a heavy breath of relief when the street was left behind.
Tearing your eyes away from the tinted window, you looked at Lando properly and saw his disheveled appearance. “I’m sorry for waking you.”
“I’m not.” He took his eyes off the road for a second before reaching over to take your hand. “You’re freezing.”
He couldn’t tell if you were shaking because you were cold or if it was the adrenaline leading to shock. Dropping your hand he reached behind your seat to grab a hoodie that was always left in the car. The material was soft and smelled like him as you pulled on, inhaling deeply at the familiarity of the scent.
“I miss stealing these,” you whispered as you buried your cold hands into the front pocket.
Lando chuckled at the admission. He missed seeing his hoodies on you and asking if you knew where his favourite ones were. You would lie and he would smile at how terrible the attempt was.
“You can steal that one, if you want. I have too many now that they don’t mysteriously disappear.”
The car pulled into the garage and you found the space where your car used to park now filled with a pretty Lamborghini. A new sense of sadness hit that of course everything could be upgraded and replaced. “You can take me to my hotel. I wasn’t thinking clearly, you probably have company.”
His lips turned down at the thought and he shook his head. Lando understood why you would assume that, after all it was the reason you had left. What he had thought was harmless flirting had wrought destruction on his relationship with you. He knew he should’ve deleted the messages as soon as they were received but a moment of weakness when he was away from you led him to reply.
He betrayed your trust and he had regretted it ever since.
“There isn’t anyone,” he said as he parked. “There isn’t anyone ever, just to be clear.”
You mulled over his words as you stepped out of the car and accepted his hand, trading the warmth of the pocket for his palm. You kept hearing the insinuation echo with each step in the empty garage.
“Did you go out alone tonight?”
You shook your head. “Ana felt sick so she left. I should have gone with her.”
“So why did you stay?”
You weren’t ready to admit there was a slight hope you would see him so you just shrugged. It was Saturday night in Monaco and Jimmyz was the place to be - especially for a handsome, single man like Lando. You hadn’t wanted it to be this way though.
“I stopped going there after…a couple of months ago,” he said as he unlocked his door.
“Why? You loved that place.”
“I loved going with you,” he corrected. “I got to hold you and dance, show you off to everyone. When I went back, everyone just wanted to use me.”
You could imagine the women fawning over him and the men trying to be his next best friend. Sex or money, it was all they wanted from him.
“I’m sorry, Lan.”
“Lan,” he chuckled, following the light down the hall to his bedroom. The blanket was tossed aside and his charging cord was half hanging from the wall, a testament to how quickly he had left his bed to rescue you. “No one else calls me that anymore. It’s always Lando Norris, full name, so fucking weird. It’s Lando Norris getting out of his car. Oh, look, it’s Lando Norris scratching his nose.”
You laughed at his impersonation and sat at the edge of the bed. It was such an innocent thing but it brought back a million memories made in this room and he was seeing them all too as he stood frozen.
“Are you going to stand there all night, Lando Norris?”
His eyes traced your lips that mocked him before he shook his head of the thought that entered his head. Going to his wardrobe, he grabbed a loose shirt and tossed it to you before turning his back. “That’ll be more comfortable to sleep in than your dress.”
You laughed to yourself as he turned away, despite intimately knowing every inch of your body, until you found his eyes in the reflection of the mirror. His tortured eyes dared you to tell him to look away, but they begged you all the same. Maybe you were feeling grateful for the rescue, or maybe it was just an old habit that you held his gaze as you rose to your feet and let your dress fall to the floor with his hoodie.
His eyes darkened and he groaned, but the sound woke him up from his stupor. “I’ll go sleep on the couch.”
“Wait.” You took a step towards him as he stepped towards the door. “Please stay.”
He heard the fragility in your tone and the residual fear from the evening creeping back. He knew it was a bad idea but he couldn’t find the words to voice them as he gripped the door handle.
You watched his fingers release their tight hold before he nodded. “But please put the shirt on,” he pleaded as you tested his self restraint.
It was summer and the air still held warmth despite the early hour, but you dutifully pulled it over your head and climbed into the sheets. Lando waited until you were completely covered before he walked around to his side of the bed and curled up at the edge.
You both lay in silence, back to back, watching the shadows on the wall as the minutes ticked away. Lando was like a heat seeking missile and he was fighting an internal battle to keep from rolling over and curling his body around yours. You had always loved physical contact, it was comforting to be wrapped in his arms.
You knew he was awake and uncomfortable.
He knew you were awake and uncomfortable.
A few more minutes passed and you could no longer pretend he didn’t exist, or that you didn’t want the comfort he could give. “Lan?”
“Yeah?” His response was instant and you felt the bed shift as he rolled onto his back.
“Stop being weird and just cuddle me so we can get some sleep.”
“I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”
You giggled and reached blindly for him. “I am already.”
Your hand found his arm and he shimmied across the space until it curled around your waist. His knees tucked behind yours and his breath warmed your neck as he whispered, “I’m sorry. For everything. I know you hate me, but-”
“I don’t,” you interjected, twisting your neck to look at him in the dim light. “I did, I really did. But I don’t anymore.”
“You should. I hurt you so bad. I deserve your hate.”
You swallowed down the lump in your throat and looked away as you admitted aloud what you had known for a while. “I can’t hate you, Lan, not when I still love you.”
Lando froze still behind you and you weren’t sure if he was even breathing. “You still love me?” Disbelief, wonder, hope - it was so saturated in that question.
“I thought something terrible was going to happen to me tonight so I called you in case it was the last time I could. I didn’t want ‘I hate you’ to be my last words to you.”
Lando’s gut clenched at the thought and his arms tightened around you, crushing your back to his chest. “I wish you called sooner, I would come day or night to get you.”
“I know.”
“I don’t think you do,” he said sadly. “Every weekend for the past five months I wonder if you are out drinking and clubbing. I know it’s not my place, and I lost all right to know where you are, but I need to know you safe, sweetheart. It kills me to think that there might be someone else looking out for you, because that was my job. It should still be my job, to protect you, because I love you too. I never stopped loving you.”
You squirmed in his arms but they were too tight to move. “Lan, I need you to let go of me,” you murmured.
“I’ve tried, but I can’t. I can’t give up on us.”
“Lan.”
His breath was shaky but he released his tight grip on you, despite his desire to keep you close. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said any of that.”
He started to pull away but you finally had room to move and followed. “Lando! Come back, you muppet. I just wanted to see your face without breaking my neck,” you laughed.
He paused, a little from appearing between his brows. “Let go…oh…” His eyes lit up even in the dark room and he bundled you back into his arms. “Muppet is my word.”
You nuzzled your face into the crook of his neck and inhaled his scent. “I stole it too, like your hoodies.”
“I was a muppet so you can have it this time.” He pulled back so he could find your eyes. “Where does this leave us?”
“You broke my trust.” You felt him deflate at the words. “But when I needed you, you came.”
“You called.”
Your chest felt light with emotion those two words brought and you combed your fingers into his dark curls. “I don’t know where this leaves us but what I do know is that I really want you to kiss me.”
His eyes widened in surprise. “Now? Are you sure? It might just be the adrena-”
“Shut up and kiss me, Lan.”
He didn’t need to be told a third time.
> ࣪𖤐.ᐟ You didn’t realise they’ve been waiting their whole life to take care of you
𝙍𝙖𝙛𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙡 °‧🫧⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
You didn’t even realize where he was taking you at first. One minute, Rafayel was humming beside you in the sun-drenched car, legs loosely crossed, wrist lazily draped over his knee, then the next, you were standing in front of a boutique with marble steps and gilded trim, its window displays shimmering with silk and starlight.
You looked up at him, confused.
“I thought we were just grabbing food?”
He smiled, soft and lopsided. “We will. After.”
Your arms stayed crossed as he nudged the glass door open, the cool air inside fragrant with expensive perfume. You hesitated on the threshold like it burned. The place was pristine, curated for a kind of woman you never thought to be, draped in chiffon, light on her feet, untouched by blood or plasma discharge.
“I don’t need anything.”
“I know,” he said simply. “But I want to give you something.”
He was already drifting inside, fingertips brushing lazily across a rack of pale-colored dresses like he was feeling textures of coral under the sea. His eyes were sparkling, pink and blue both. Not because he cared about the fashion. But because you were here.
You stayed by the entrance like an idiot, hand still on your belt. Rafayel turned, noting the stiffness in your shoulders. Then he padded back to you, soft, catlike steps, always a little too close.
“You look scared,” he teased gently, leaning in like he was about to share a secret. “It’s not a trap. Unless you count being emotionally manipulated by a pretty man who loves you.”
You huffed. “You’re ridiculous.”
“And you’re beautiful,” he said without flinching. “And always wearing the same six hunter outfits. They don’t even have proper pockets. Let me give you something nice. Please.”
The word please lingered in the air, rare and sincere. It made your throat tighten.
He tilted his head. “You don’t have to like it. Just try something on. For me.”
His tone was so unassuming, so earnest in its quiet request, it disarmed you. A little part of you, tired, sore, always on alert, ached to be indulgent. Just for a second.
“…Fine,” you muttered, glaring at a display dress like it personally insulted you. “But if I look stupid, I’m blaming you.”
Rafayel beamed, the corners of his eyes crinkling. “Deal. I’ll take full responsibility. Emotionally, financially, spiritually.”
He plucked the hanger and draped it gently over your arm like a crown being placed on royalty. You rolled your eyes, but didn’t shake it off.
And when you returned from the fitting room, unsure, awkward, shifting your weight from one foot to the other, he stared at you like the stars had rearranged themselves just to form your silhouette.
“…Okay?” you asked, arms slightly lifted in a self-conscious shrug.
Rafayel didn’t answer. Not with words. He just stepped forward and reached out, cupping your cheek with a reverence that made your chest hurt.
“I want to wrap you in every soft, lovely thing,” he murmured. “So the world never gets to bruise you again.”
You swallowed thickly.
“…That’s not how it works.”
He smiled sadly. “I know. But let me try anyway.”
𝙕𝙖𝙮𝙣𝙚 ⋆꙳•❅‧*₊⋆☃︎ ‧*❆ ₊⋆
The boutique was quiet, too quiet. The kind with glass shelves, polished floors, and a single attendant too nervous to breathe loud. The walls were lined with elegant neutral palettes, coats and dresses hanging like art. You shouldn’t have been here. Not in your boots, not with your hunters permit still sticking awkwardly out from your ID.
You shot Zayne a look.
“This is a little much, isn’t it?”
He didn’t look at you, fingers trailing steadily along the hem of a soft camel coat, his expression unreadable behind silver-rimmed glasses. “You’ll need something appropriate for the hospital gala.”
“I have a black dress.”
He hummed. “The one you wore to a funeral.”
You flushed, defensive. “It’s still in good condition.”
“I’m sure it is,” Zayne said coolly, lifting the sleeve of a deep plum cashmere number and inspecting the stitching like it offended him. “But I’d rather not have the director’s wife think you’re in mourning.”
You scowled. “You said she wasn’t your type.”
“She isn’t,” he said mildly. “But I’d still rather not.”
That earned him a look. You hated shopping. It always felt… vulnerable. You weren’t used to the stillness. The hush of indulgence. You’d spent years with utility belts and reinforced boots, shopping was for people with soft hands and quiet jobs. People who didn’t deal in violence.
Zayne stepped closer, voice lower, a hand ghosting over the small of your back without quite touching.
“You don’t have to like it,” he murmured, tilting his head just slightly. “But I do want you to have something that makes you feel beautiful. Not just… armed.”
You paused.
That soft hum in his voice, that was the problem. The way he said beautiful like it was a diagnosis. Like he could see it whether or not you did. You didn’t know how to handle that.
Still, you hesitated. “…I’m not going to prance around in sequins.”
His lips tugged just faintly. “Noted. We’ll keep it understated.”
You narrowed your eyes, watching him pull a gown from a side rack. Sleek. Minimalist. No fuss. Elegant in the way he was, muted but unmistakably sharp.
He handed it to you. “Try this.”
“…What if I hate it?”
“You won’t,” he said plainly. “But if you do, I’ll find you something better.”
You stared at him, suspicious. “How do you know my size?”
“I’m a surgeon,” Zayne said flatly. “I could recreate your spine from memory.”
You blinked. Your mouth opened. Then shut.
He added, deadpan: “Don’t look so horrified. I meant that flatteringly.”
“…That wasn’t flattering.”
Zayne’s lips twitched again, like he was holding back laughter. He didn’t press. Just waited silently until you retreated into the changing room.
When you stepped out, he looked up from where he’d leaned against the edge of a display table. His eyes flicked over you once, slow, assessing, steady. No smirk. No flattery. Just… a quiet, deliberate stillness.
You shifted, uncomfortable. “Too much?”
“No,” he said simply.
You gave him a skeptical glance in the mirror. He stepped behind you, fixing the off-shoulder sleeve with a careful touch, the fabric gliding under his fingers. His scarred hands looked too rough for the material, and yet he handled it, and you, with absolute precision.
“You don’t have to wear it to the gala,” he said, his tone low, almost absentminded as he adjusted the fit on your shoulder. “But I’m buying it anyway.”
You turned to face him.
“Because it’s pretty?”
“Because you’re pretty,” he said without hesitation. “And I like watching you be reminded of it.”
That stopped your heart for half a second.
“…You’re ridiculous.”
“Mm,” he hummed. “And you’re stalling. Go change.”
You stomped back into the dressing room before he could see you blush.
𝙓𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙧 ⋆⭒˚.⋆🪐 ⋆⭒˚.⋆
You blinked up at the glittering storefront. Mannequins in flowing satin. Soft lighting. Gentle classical music humming in the background. The kind of boutique you passed without ever really seeing. Now here you were, standing just slightly to the left of Xavier, who was staring at the mannequins like they were alien lifeforms.
“…Are we lost?”
“No,” he said, almost serenely. “This is the destination.”
“…You brought me here on purpose?”
A small nod. His silver hair shimmered slightly under the soft lighting. His expression hadn’t changed since you left the train: calm, unreadable, borderline sleepy. But his hand was resting lightly against the small of your back, guiding you inside.
“I don’t need anything fancy,” you tried, already shrinking under the chandeliers. “I’ve got my uniform. I’m fine.”
“I know,” he said simply. “But I like seeing you wear soft things.”
That caught you off guard. You glanced at him, suspicious. “Soft things?”
He paused, thoughtful. “Like… clouds. Or the pastries you like. But on you.”
You blinked.
“…You mean dresses.”
Xavier tilted his head. “I mean things that look good when you spin in them.”
You didn’t even know what to say to that. You were still in your boots. Still carrying the tension of your last mission between your shoulders. You didn’t belong in a place like this.
As if sensing that, Xavier stepped in front of you, hands clasped behind his back. His voice was quiet, but steady. “Do you feel uncomfortable?”
“…A little.”
A beat.
“I will fix it.”
You blinked. “What—”
But he was already off, sifting through a row of garments with the exact same eerie calm he brought to dismantling illegal protocore traders. It didn’t matter if it was dress racks or combat briefings, Xavier was methodical, careful, and just slightly tilted from what was expected.
He returned with a gauzy lavender number draped over his arm. He held it out to you without a word. You stared at it.
“Try it,” he said simply.
“I’m not even sure it’s my color.”
“I am.”
You gave him a flat look. “And when did you become a fashion expert?”
“I’m not,” he said. “But I am very good at observing you.”
Your ears grew warm.
You reluctantly took the dress and disappeared into the fitting room. The whole time, you expected to look ridiculous. Like someone else entirely. But when you stepped out.
Xavier was already watching.
His expression didn’t change.
But something… softened.
He approached slowly, the tips of his fingers brushing over the hem of the dress like it might melt. Then, without a word, he reached up and gently tucked a stray strand of hair behind your ear. His gloved fingers didn’t touch your skin. But it still made your breath hitch.
“…You approve?” you asked, trying to sound dry.
“I do not understand what others consider beautiful,” he murmured. “But I like how you look. I like how you always look.”
You stared up at him. He was still expressionless. Still strange. Still not quite human in how he moved, or spoke, or tilted his head when he looked at you like the galaxy stopped turning.
And yet, your heart squeezed.
“…You’re being really weird.”
“I know,” he said softly. “But I’d like to buy it for you.”
You hesitated.
He added, “You don’t have to keep it. You don’t even have to wear it. But if I imagine you spinning once in it, in a room filled with light, then it’s worth it to me.”
You looked away, ears burning.
“…Fine. But only if I get to choose something you wear next time.”
Xavier nodded solemnly. “Deal. I will wear a pastry if you ask me to.”
“What— no, Xavier—!”
Too late. He was already at the counter, wallet in hand, gently coaxing the boutique worker to wrap it in tissue.
You’d expected the mission briefing. Trying out new weapoms. Maybe some recon.
You had not expected Sylus to park the car outside a luxury fashion district and say, lazily:
“Get out. We’re shopping.”
You frowned at him.
“You’re joking.”
Sylus didn’t blink. Didn’t even look at you. Just adjusted the black blazer hanging off his shoulders and tilted his head slightly, the red crow brooch catching the light.
“Do I look like I joke?”
You muttered under your breath, “You look like someone with twelve armories and no sense of moderation.”
He smirked. “And you look like someone I’d rather not have wearing knockoff tactical gear while standing next to me.”
Your glare deepened.
“I like this gear.”
“It’s functional,” Sylus said airily, guiding you toward the automatic doors with a hand at your lower back. “But function doesn’t always win wars. Sometimes presence does.”
You knew better than to argue when he was in this mood, calm, smug, and quietly plotting something three steps ahead. He wasn’t just taking you shopping. This was a statement. And you had no idea what kind.
Inside, the boutique was all mirrors and low lighting. The kind of place that didn’t display price tags, just power. A clerk stepped forward. Sylus didn’t speak to her. He just gave her a look, and she vanished into the back to fetch whatever he wanted.
You stood stiffly. He leaned against a gold-trimmed display table, watching you with idle amusement.
“I don’t need you to buy me things,” you muttered.
“I didn’t ask what you needed,” he replied smoothly. “I do what I want.”
You crossed your arms. “Why?”
That made him pause. His red eyes flicked toward you, sharp and gleaming. Then, softly:
“Because I like the idea of you wrapped in luxury. Because I enjoy watching you realize how easily you could own every room you walk into.”
A beat. Then he added with a smirk:
“And because I’m shallow and get bored. So this is also entertainment.”
You scowled.
Moments later, the clerk returned with gowns, gloves, heels, even jewelry, rich reds, deep blacks, all materials that shimmered like oil or bled like wine. Sylus didn’t touch a single one. He just looked at you expectantly.
“No way,” you said, hands raised. “I’m not trying those on.”
“Why not?”
“Because I’m a hunter, not—”
“Not what?” he interrupted, stepping closer. “Not someone who deserves to be admired? To feel powerful in ways that don’t involve blood or bullets?”
You froze.
Sylus smiled, slow and knowing.
“Let me rephrase,” he said softly. “Go try them on. Or I’ll carry you to the fitting room myself.”
Your stomach flipped.
You grabbed the nearest piece and fled.
When you stepped out again, blood-red velvet, cut close and dangerous, Sylus’s expression didn’t shift. But his gaze burned. He tilted his head slightly, his tongue pressing lightly to the inside of his cheek, almost like he was savoring something.
“Well,” he said at last, voice low. “Look at you.”
“…Too much?” you asked stiffly.
“No,” he murmured. “It’s perfect.”
You swallowed. “I’m not used to this.”
“I know,” he said. “That’s why we’re practicing.”
You blinked.
He stepped closer. Lowered his voice. “One day, you’re going to rule rooms like this. You’ll walk into a place like this, and no one will question the cost of anything. They’ll ask if it pleases you. And I’ll be the one standing behind you, amused.”
Your heart stuttered.
“…You think I’ll be like that?”
“I think,” Sylus said, reaching up to adjust a strap with slow, calculated fingers, “that you already are. You just haven’t seen it yet.”
You stared at him.
He leaned down, brushing a soft kiss against your cheek like he was crowning you with it.
“Now pick a few,” he murmured. “Before I lose patience and buy out the store.”
You were supposed to be getting parts. Weapons. Something for your mission. Not… standing awkwardly in front of a boutique window while Caleb stood beside you, hands in his pockets, watching you like you were the only star in the sky.
“I don’t need anything,” you muttered.
“I know,” he said softly, “but I want to give you something anyway.”
You turned to him, skeptical. “Why?”
Caleb smiled. Not the playful grin you remembered from childhood, but a softer, grown-up version. Sadder. Warmer. More dangerous.
“You work hard. You never ask for anything. You always think you have to handle everything alone.” He tilted his head. “Let me spoil you, just this once.”
You glanced at the boutique. Soft lighting. Silks and crystals and delicate things you’d never wear in a cockpit. Not your world.
“I’m not the type to wear stuff like this.”
Caleb stepped closer. You felt it before you saw it, the sudden change in pressure, the weight of his presence, like his Gravity Evol was always humming just beneath the surface, calibrated just for you.
“You don’t have to be,” he said quietly. “You’re you. That’s all I want.”
You hesitated.
And then, just like he used to do when you were kids, he reached out, tugged your sleeve lightly, and leaned in with a teasing whisper, “C’mon. You didn’t say no when I bought you five extra sticker packs that summer, remember?”
You blinked at him. “You told Gran they were on sale.”
“They were. Emotionally.”
You laughed despite yourself, and Caleb’s smile brightened. Not cocky. Not smug. Just sincere.
And before you could stop him, he was gently guiding you through the door, palm on your back, already talking to the assistant about “something soft, something pretty, something in her color.” The way he said it made your skin burn.
Inside, you tried to retreat, but Caleb was persistent in the way only he could be. Not pushy. Just present. Patient. Like he knew how many steps it would take for you to give in.
He held up a deep plum piece, simple but elegant, and tilted his head.
“I think this one’s pretty,” he murmured. “It matches your eyes.”
“…Yours are purple,” you pointed out.
He smiled again, and this time, there was heat behind it. “Exactly.”
You snatched the outfit from his hand and stormed off to the changing room just to get away from the flutter in your chest.
When you stepped out, uncomfortable and tugging at the fabric, he was already sitting there, waiting. Legs spread, one arm draped over the chair, dark brown hair slightly tousled from his flight jacket.
His gaze traveled down your body slowly, taking in everything.
“…You like it?” you asked, fidgeting.
He didn’t answer immediately. Just stood, walked over, and reached to fix the collar.
“I love it,” he said, voice low. “But I’d love it more if you didn’t look like you were about to bolt.”
“I’m not used to—”
“I know,” he cut in gently, thumb brushing the corner of your mouth. “But I’m going to keep doing this. Slowly. Until you believe it’s okay to let me take care of you.”
Your heart thudded.
He looked down at you, purple eyes glowing softly.
“Because I always have,” he whispered. “I always will.”
And when the assistant brought out a pair of heels that matched perfectly, Caleb took them from her hands, crouched in front of you, and, before you could even protest, slipped one on with the same calm focus he used when piloting his favourite aircraft.
“…Cinderella moment?” you asked, flustered.
“Mm,” he smiled, still crouched. “No. My girl doesn’t need saving. But she deserves everything beautiful.”
