#I’ve not rewatch the trailer much yet

Ok so my initial theory is that this baby is Johanna (it just doesn’t look like Hilda, the hair seems too dark and the nose too big) but she’s been protected from the big fairy(?) thing for a while now, but now something has happened to break that protection? Maybe it’s something that has to be renewed?

Or maybe Johanna doesn’t even know, and it’s Astrid who’s placing some kind of protective seal. And she’s enticing Hilda and Johanna out to hers so she can renew it better, or because whatever the protection is doesn’t work so well in trollberg?

That could be what this scene is, Hilda’s been sneaking around following Astrid, because when she tries to ask her about her Father Astrid brushes her off with the ol’ “ah but he family you have right here is what’s most important” jargin, but still seems suspicious the whole time Hilda is there. When she catches her red handed, it turns out she’s actually hiding something from Johanna, who enters stage left at the last minute like excuse me what. And here could be Johanna returning, angry at Astrid for lying to her, Astrid feeling guilty, and Hilda disappointed that she’s no closer to finding her dad

Btw this scene of Hilda yelling for her missing mum is put right after the “I will come to take the girl” bit, which is also part of what’s fuelling my theory. ALSO looking at the Initial teaser with Hilda being so excited to find the fairies, it’d be really messed up if she was sooo excited but upon meeting them learned they were actually out to get her.

Anyways Johanna being born via magical means as opposed to Hilda is much more interesting to me, since Jo is for the most part just a regular dude who wants to eat cucumber sandwich and chill. It’s a fun misdirect!

Ofc this doesn’t sense anything abt Hilda’s dad, but I like the idea of him just being a normal deadbeat father in contrast to all this magic. Hilda learning that unconventional families are just as good as conventional ones, sometimes better. She desperately wants her fathers absence to be tied to some big adventure or magical reason, but it’s not.

1. Hometown Cha Cha Cha: An absolute masterpiece. It’s a heartwarming fish out of water story about a big city girl who finds herself in the quirkiest little seaside town. I wanted to stay in Gongjin forever. Grade: A+(Netflix)

2. Extraordinary Attorney Woo (S1): Delightful! Never have I ever rooted for a lead harder. She is the most endearing lead you will ever find. And the male lead is so so swoony. Grade: A+(Netflix)

3. Alchemy of Souls: The wildest of rides and the perfect blend of fantasy, adventure, mystery, comedy, and romance. The characters are just so lovable, you’ll never want it to end. Season 2 just as good as Season 1. Grade: A+ (Netflix)

4. Love To Hate You: New fastest binge of my life. 10 episodes and I didn’t fast forward at all. There were no bad/slow parts. Also the funniest KDrama I’ve ever seen. Just watch it. You won’t regret it. Grade A+ (Netflix).

5. My Demon: This show had me utterly enthralled, it was so mysterious and suspenseful and yet incredibly goofy and romantic. My new favorite main couple in all KDrama land. Yes it wasn’t perfect but I enjoyed it so much, it really encapsulated everything I love in a tv show. Grade: A (Netflix)

6. Business Proposal: It’s got every trope you can think of and it does them all to perfection. Plus it’s hilarious. Grade: A (Netflix)

7. Healer: This super romantic action mystery drama will keep you on the edge of your seat. Ji Chang Wook is equal parts sexy and adorable which is a seriously winning combination. Grade A (Viki). One caveat: I was very disappointed by a certain wardrobe decision in episode 3.

8.Her Private Life: Super funny and charming. The romantic leads have incredible chemistry. The premise is so good! Might be the one of the most rewatchable kdramas. Grade: A (Netflix)

9. Castaway Diva: Just utterly heartwarming. An instant classic. Ultimate underdog, redemption, story that teaches us what real love and family is. Also Ki-Ho is the new standard by which all men will be judged. Grade: A (Netflix)

10. Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung: Great strong female lead. Very good messages. Couldn’t stop watching. The most adorable prince I’ve ever seen 💜Cha Eunwoo💜 Grade: A (Netflix)

11. Bad Prosecutor: Absolutely thrilling and hilarious. It’s like a heist, detective, lawyer, action comedy that will keep you wondering who is outsmarting who? Super shocking plot twists. Amazing OST. Stuck the landing with a truly satisfying finale. Grade A (Viki)

12. Sh**ting Stars: Probable the biggest turnaround of any show I’ve seen (The “Africa” part was so problematic). However it turned out to be one of the funniest and swooniest KDramas out there. There are 5 couples and you will cheer for all of them. Grade: A- (Viki)

13. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon: The main couple is absolutely everything! Just fast forward through pretty much every side plot (they are not important) and you’ll love it. Grade: A- (Viki)

14. So I Married the Anti-Fan: It’s campy, fluffy, goodness, with a fierce female lead and a K-pop star enemy/love interest. 2nd fastest binge of my life. Grade: A- (Viki)

15. 100 Days My Prince: An absolute classic period drama romcom. Who knew D.O. could kiss like that? Such a great strong female lead. I LOVE a show with adorable, quirky, townspeople. Grade: A- (Netflix)

16. Romance is a Bonus Book: Might be the most romantic K-Drama I’ve ever seen. Nothing about the trailer or setup intrigued me but I’m so glad I watched it anyway. It was a truly beautiful love story. Grade: A- (Netflix)

17. Because This Is My First Life: This drama really does everything right for me… A slow burn romance built on mutual love and respect. Supporting characters who I genuinely cared about and had incredible side stories of their own. A critique of the patriarchy. Women supporting women. An adorable cat. Maybe a bit melodramatic at times but not too much. Grade A- (Netflix)

18. Start-Up: Exceptional acting, compelling storylines, intriguing plot twists, great cinematography, intense love triangle. It’s just all around high quality. Grade: A- (Netflix)

19. Run On: Cute, fun, silly and pretty light. I especially loved the supporting cast. Strange storyline but it was a fun easy ride. Grade: A- (Netflix)

20. Forbidden Marriage: This is a weird show, but weird in the best way. It’s like a comedy, horror, romance, fictional-historical. I don’t know how to describe it but it’s really fun. B+(Viki)

21. Soundtrack #1: Short and beautiful. I just loved it. No one does heart eyes better than Park Hyung-Sik. Grade: B+(Disney+)

22. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo: A bad-ass yet vulnerable female lead. The main couple just had a lot of fun together. Refreshing. Grade: B+ (Viki)

23. Doctor Slump: This show was a really nice journey of both mental health and romance. Grade: B+ (Netflix)

24. Welcome to Samdalri: Very heartwarming and beautiful story about love, family, friendship, and going home. It has quirky townspeople and Ji Chang Wook 😍 what’s not to love? Grade: B+ (Netflix)

25. My Lovely Liar: Creative and engaging premise, intriguing mystery, and a swoon worthy romance. A very fun viewing experience. Grade: B+ (Viki)

26. King the Land: This drama pretty much has no stakes or conflict and the main couple has THE MOST chemistry I have ever seen in my entire life. So if you just want to turn your brain off and be happy, this is the drama for you. I absolutely loved it. Grade: B+ (Netflix)

27.Law Cafe: This drama has so much to love, a strong/fierce/brilliant and morally righteous female lead, lovable side characters, steamy romance. But what I loved most was how the show spotlighted important issues like consent and abuse in nuanced and progressive ways. Yes it’s a fun rom-com but it felt like the beginning of a new chapter of more egalitarian storytelling which made me really excited for the future of k-dramas. Grade: B+ (Viki)

28. Not Others: A lovely Gilmore Girls type show about the relationship between an immature mother and her very mature adult daughter. It was a pleasure seeing them grow in their relationships with each other, others, and themselves. I want more! Grade B+ (Viki)

29. Cheer Up: Sports, comedy, romance, mystery, suspense, coming of age, this show had everything. The female lead was the lovable, feisty, driven, and brave. The male lead was adorkable, considerate, and sweet. It’s all very enjoyable and wholesome. Grade: B+ (Viki)

30. I Am Not A Robot: Zany premise but it was surprisingly pretty grounded for how crazy the set up was. It’s funny, emotional, good story telling. Great character development. Grade: B+ (Viki)

31. See You in My 19th Life: The shared experience of watching this mystical mystery drama week to week made it a really enjoyable watch. Not sure if it was totally satisfying, or that any of the couples’ chemistry felt authentic, but it was a very interesting and creative storyline. Grade B (Netflix)

32. Summer Strike: This show made me cry a lot. It’s heartbreaking yet healing. I’m still not sure if I liked watching it or not but it was a beautiful story of found family. Grade B (Netflix).

33. Shopping King Louie: Adorable! So many light fluffy feels for this show but it does drag a bit in the second half. Grade B (Viki)

34, Fight For My Way: Such lovable leads. Love the fierce female lead and adorable himbo male lead. It’s like a coming of age story but for 30 year olds. Storyline was ok. Second couple was skippable. Grade: B (Viki)

35. What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim: More PSJ is always a good thing. This drama did all the tropes in ways that didn’t always feel fresh, but it was very romantic and hilarious. A true classic. Grade: B (Viki)

36. Touch Your Heart: If you can just stick it out through the first few very shaky episodes, you will enjoy this adorable, fluffy, series. Grade: B- (Netflix)

37. Doom at Your Service: It was sometimes real sad yet ultimately a heart warming mystical story. Grade: B- (Viki)

38. True Beauty: Fun, cute, teen drama however, it’s a little too “antsy teen” for me. Cha Eunwoo though💜 Grade: C+ (Viki)

39. Destined With You: The chemistry between the main couple was absolutely sizzling. Rowoon was both hilarious and next level adorable. However, the plot and the characterization of women occasionally made me very frustrated. Grade: C+ (Netflix).

40. Suspicious Partner: Great story, great characters, attractive actors, beautiful romance, interesting plot, sometimes funny, sometimes suspenseful, but with 40 episodes, the plot was dragged. Grade C+ (Viki)

41. Crash Landing On You: The first half is GREAT but the second half is way too melodramatic for my taste. It’s a very interesting storyline, the main couple has insane chemistry, and there are very lovable side characters. Grade: C+ (Netflix)

42. Secret Romantic Guesthouse: First few episodes were a fun scooby gang mystery, middle episodes were super boring, last 3 episodes were crazy fast paced and thrilling. It ended well- I’ll give it that. Grade: C (Viki)

43. Dear.M: It was inoffensive and decently entertaining. If you like school dramas, you’ll probably enjoy it. Grade: C (Viki).

44. A Good Day To Be A Dog: The storyline is bonkers but very intriguing. It started off so well but the storyline lost its way in the back half. But hey, Cha Eunwoo + dogs, it’s worth the watch. Grade: C (Viki).

45. Angel’s Last Mission: Love: This drama was very similar to Doom At Your Service but it was more a bit more redundant with all of the tragedy and crying. I LOVED the chemistry of the main couple but I found myself fast forwarding a lot. Grade: C- (Viki)

46. Marry My Husband: Episodes 1-11 were phenomenal. Such an interesting premise with shocking twists and turns. After episode 11 it seemed like there were new writers who had never seen the show. Very disappointing but top tier villains. Grade: C-

47. Our Beloved Summer: I LOVED V’s “Christmas Tree” OST however I struggled to keep watching. Boring storyline but great acting. Grade: D+ (Netflix)

48. Heavenly Idol: An absolute hot mess. It was completely convoluted and just low quality but I also weirdly liked it. I can’t bring myself to rank it higher because I know how bad it was but I actually enjoyed it better than many shows I ranked ahead of it. Grade: D+ (Viki)

49. My Secret Romance: The story of a total screw up female lead falling for a manipulative, gaslighting, hottie. It was problematic yet fun? So 🤷‍♀️ Grade: D+ (Netflix)

50. My Man Is Cupid: Pros: many cute dogs, sometimes those dogs wear human clothes, cute ending. Cons: Makes no sense, not much chemistry, murder plot takes up too much time. Grade D+ (Prime).

51. She Would Never Know: As handsome as Rowoon is, I found his character problematic at the beginning (no means no buddy) but he did get a lot better as the show went on. I just ended up skipping to watch just the scenes with the main couple, which made the show way more enjoyable. Grade D (Netflix)

52. My Love From the Star: I found myself fast forwarding a lot through all the parts that didn’t involve the main couple and most of the flashbacks. Grade D (Viki)

53. Goblin: The age gap is too disturbing for me, like call the police disturbing. However, the Grim Reaper who is one of the most adorable characters I’ve ever seen. Grade: D- (Viki)

54. Extra-Ordinary You: I have never felt so betrayed by a second half of a series as I did in this one. All of the character development that it seemed to be leading to was replaced by a pretty sickening codependent relationship. Grade: D- (Viki).

Perfect Date - Pedro Pascal x reader/OC

Summary: Part three to Behind The Scenes and Never Letting You Go. I might rewrite it I’m not sure

Pedro’s POV

Filming goes on as usual but now Y/N just alternates between sleeping in her trailer with Bella or crashing in mine. It all depends on how filming was that day, like after filming the section for David and Ellie it seemed like Bella really needed her sister. It was an intense part to film, the reality of what could have happened if it were real life sitting in the air for a while. 

I watched from across the set the way Bella hugged Y/N tight and the way the beautiful woman hugged her back like she would never let anything touch Bella. Y/N met my gaze and sent me a shy smile as if she hadn’t been moaning in my ear earlier that morning. Of course I couldn’t just let her go back to set the next morning without hearing those breathtaking sounds or feel the way she writhed underneath me. We weren’t able to get breakfast but little does she know I have a date planned, I just need Gabriel and Bella to hold up their end of this and help me out. 

Y/N isn’t one for big public acts so a fancy dinner date is out the question and a bad idea if we don’t want the paparazzi to make up a story about me and some mystery girl. I haven’t even asked her to date me yet, I plan to do that on this date. I want to set up a picnic of all her favourite snacks and we can get Italian takeaway as I’ve noticed spaghetti bolognese being her favourite meal. Whenever we all go our at a team it’s her go to and if they don’t have that she’ll have a burger. Gabriel and Bella are going to distract her as Gabriel seems to be her best friend on set and well, Bella’s her sister. I have no idea what they’re going to do but I hope it’s enough for me to set up. 

Tomorrow’s our day off so it’s planned for then. I have all the Indiana Jones movies bought and waiting for me on the hotel TV as Y/N’s always gushing over how much she loves the movies and how she’ll always rewatch them when she’s sad. I want it to be perfect. I want her to know just how much I love and care for her. I want to show her that she is more than the mind blowing sex.

It’s finally here and everything’s perfect. The hotel gave me roses which I spread all across the bed, around the blanket laid out and the picnic basket full of all of her favourite snacks at the bottom of the bed. The takeaway spaghetti is in tupperware containers inside a heat bag or whatever they’re called. 

I’ve showered and spent hours on deciding what to wear because this… this is what makes or breaks us. I settled on some loose jeans and a button up which I only button up three quarters of the way up, making sure my hair is fluffy and curly as Y/N can’t seem to keep her hands out of it or stop complimenting the curls. I neatened up my beard and then began to light the two cherry scented candles as it’s Y/N’s favourite scent. 

There’s a knock at the door and Gabriel’s calling, “Her eyes are closed.” 

I’m throwing the door open to find Y/N standing there, Gabriel covering her eyes but I can’t help just stare at how gorgeous she looks. She’s in black and white plaid jeans that just hit her figure in all the right places as well as a baggy cream sweater and Doc Martens. Her hair is down except for two twists on either side of her head. It’s so effortless yes has me feeling like a kid with a high school crush. 

Gabriel opens his mouth to speak and I realise I’ve been starting for a few minutes so I shoo him away and replace his hands with my own, guiding her into the room and kicking the door behind me. Her breath hitches when I stop her and press my chest to her back, unable to help myself because she’s gorgeous and she’s right here and I need to feel her in my arms. 

“Surprise sweetheart.” I take my hands away and her mouth falls open before she’s spinning around to throw herself at me in a hug. I wrap my arms around her waist as she runs her fingers play with the wisps of hair at the nape of my neck and she’s mumbling ‘thank you’ over and over again until I’m pulling her away from me, “Anything for you baby girl. I promised us a date.” 

“You did, ” She’s breathless, forest green eyes bright with love as I guide her over to the bed, “How did you?” She notices the food eyes widening and head flying up to meet my gaze again as we sit. 

“That’s for me to know and you to never find out.” I send a cheeky grin her way, heart pounding because I want to ask her before we settle down and begin otherwise it’d just be so awkward, “I-I’ve been meaning to ask you something,”

“Is everything okay Pedrito?” Concern covers her soft face as I grab her hands in mine, heart swelling at the use of my nickname. Only my family and the closest people call me that. It feels like a secret the way it perfectly rolls off her tongue. 

“Willyougooutwithme?” I blurt out and she laughs lightly as I feel my face flush bright red, taking a deep breath before trying again, “Will you be my girlfriend.” 

“I thought you’d never ask.” She leans across the bed and kisses me. It makes me want to knock everything off the bed and ravish her but I want to have this date just as badly. Y/N seems to have similar thoughts because she’s breaking the kiss to kick off her boots and just as quickly as she’s gone she’s back. This time she’s straddling my lap, eyes having darkened with something more than lust as she’s holding my face in her hands and pressing a kiss to my slightly parted lips that has me weak at the knees. I grab her hips to ground myself pulling away from the kiss to risk something so very very early on: “I love you.” 

“I love you too.”

I am interested in hearing your take on this I’ve been thinking a lot about this since the trailer dropped . Something I’ve been analyzing is the relationship differences between Quinn/Mark vs Quinn/Logan. Quinn was always looking for more from Mark and he never could give it. When they start dating it her wanting to date him ( I don’t think he even knows her name) radio episode because he won’t kiss her. She is always looking for more intimacy. So she would get upset and he would like kinda give into her. Then they fell into this boring relationship. The moment he found what he actually wanted he left.

It was such a 180 to see her with Logan because it was like “oh I wanna kiss you all of the time.” There was this passion that a teenage relationship should have. She’s finally getting like a real high school relationship. Logan is finally seeing that knowing someone before just making out with them makes you want them more. Also looking back he’s the one making moves in the sense of him comforting her and he’s the one that said I love you first. He was choosing her and I think that was something she always wanted.

In the trailer we see that their relationship hasn’t dimmed he still wanting to touch her all the time and be close to her. He just seems so glad to have her and Quinn deserves that kind of treatment. I really hope they show the growth of the relationship and not just have them as the comic relief… I hope that they show that Logan just got carried away with the wedding because he wanted it to be perfect but when she runs away he realizes that he just needs to choose her and so they go back to their root and get married at PCA. Sorry this is super long I’ve just been obsessing over this.

Warning: I may be looking too much into a teen's show

I've been re-watching specifically Quinn and Mark's episodes as well as Quinn and Logan's, because I wanted to have a better understanding of both relationships. I hadn't seen all yet and been doing it more at random, so feel free to add more if you want.

Like you mentioned, Quinn and Mark's relationship started because she wanted it and the whole time he seemed quite uninterested on it/her. It's not that he was mean to her or a terrible boyfriend (save for the cheating, I'm side-eying you there, Mark), it's just that he just wasn't as into it and her as Quinn, I don't remember him telling her he loves her (like I said, I'm still rewatching, it might not have happened, or I must have missed it).

Let's see the differences between Logan and Mark when it comes to being Quinn's boyfriend.

Affection:

Mark:

Like you mentioned, in my rewatch I also noticed Mark didn't give her affection unless she requested it, it wasn't just the kiss, it's details like her holding his hand in the scene where she was directing towards the violinist and him dropping it as soon as he could. He just didn't seem interested in doing those things with Quinn.

He is seen holding Brooke's hand when Quinn catches them and he seemed happy to do so

So it's not that he doesn't like affection, he just didn't seem to like giving it to Quinn.

Logan:

Logan, however, is as clingy as her (maybe a little more, even). He has no problem giving her what she wants without having to being asked for it. Their very first scene post kiss starts with him telling her she "has the prettiest eyes" and them sharing an eskimo kiss, both happy and giggling. After they decide to "stop" (not even they believed that lol) he ask her for one more eskimo kiss before they go.

Then, on their next scene they're kissing again, unable to stop. Something that catched my attention was when Quinn was trying to get him to tell her what was bothering him, she got it once she used the "no telling no kisses" threat, and Logan's face too! He was like "tfym no kisses :("

Like, it's amazing to me, they've been dating for seconds and she already knew her kisses had an effect on him, and he folded so easily as soon as she said that, like they both knew he did not want the make out sessions to stop. Her confidence about it is a point I'll bring later on.

He's also the one requesting kisses, whenever they finished discussing something and he knows they have time he pops the "wanna make out?" question, and that's so funny, but also so cute, like you said, he's all like "oh I wanna kiss you all of the time".

He's also the one that said "I'm not sure I wanna stop" when Quinn said they're not making a good job in stopping those secret meetings. When Quinn said "if neither of us wants to stop they I guess..." and she seemed nervous about even suggesting it, still he completed with "we're dating?" , but he didn't look put off, he said it smiling, which feed my headcanon that he really wanted her from before the bench, he looked hopeful when he asked it (does that count as him asking her to be his gf?), so another first move.

Hanging out:

Mark:

Maybe it's because Mark is just... boring? but he doesn't seem to enjoy spending time with Quinn, most of the times we see them together, she is making experiments with him or dragging him around. Sometimes I felt like he enjoyed hanging with her friends more than her. He definitely seemed happier hanging with his own friends than her. I don't remember seeing them on a date besides their first, which he didn't know was a date, or actively seeking alone time with her.

He was always like "I guess" to her suggestions and efforts to being a normal couple.

But again, it seemed to be just with Quinn, he liked hanging out with Brooke and is seen on a date with her. He is still as boring as he was with Quinn, since Brooke left him because of that, but he seemed more into it with her. In one episode he showed more interest in Brooke than he ever did in two seasons with Quinn. And that made me feel so sad for Quinn.

That same episode random extras or minor characters showed more interest in Quinn than Mark in two seasons. What's worth noting is that Quinn didn't care about the attention she received for other boys, she wanted Mark to react like that. She cares about those things if it's coming from the boy she loves, and she would never get it from Mark.

Logan:

Before dating, despite still being a bit of an asshole towards her, Logan seemed fine with hanging out with Quinn, on the last season they became friendlier (again, despite him being still an ass), and post kiss he loved spending time with her, they were always finding moments to be together and alone, enjoying each other's company.

this scene was so fucking cute, while their friends were hanging out, they found a little hidden corner where they could keep kissing and be together:

When it comes to dates, Quinn didn't really demanded or asked him to, she said she wished they could have dates like normal couples do. And what I love of this scene is that his reaction wasn't "ugh, okay" or "I guess...", instead his reaction was more like (for me) "I'm just happy being with you wherever we are, but if you want more, we can totally do more" and he immediately thought up a solution, a place where he could take her and he even seemed excited about it (with how quickly he came up with it, I bet he has thought about it before too, getting her wined and dined and all that)

On the date he was as happy as Quinn to be there, and as annoyed when it was interrupted. Logan is the type to boast his wealth and stuff, but I don't think that was his motivation to take her there, I think he wanted to give her the best date possible, he wanted it to be special (if the theories are true, that might be the case too when it comes to their wedding, but that's for another point)

15 years later, he still clings to her and looks as happy to be around her as he was then.

Mark:

Like I said, I don't remember him ever saying those three words to her. But wherever he said it or not, I don't think he did. I genuinely don't think he loved her. I'm not saying he didn't hold any emotional affection towards her, he just wasn't in love.

The way he broke up with her once he had the opportunity to be with another girl (thought I believe Quinn mentioned he had been acting weird for 15 days, so he might have been cheating on her for that long or less) is very telling. Like I know Mark is emotionless, that's his trait, but even then, he didn't seem sad at all about the break up.

And when she tried to get him back he rejected her quickly, making it clear he just didn't want that, even telling her how he felt about Brooke, and it's worth noting he never described Quinn like that, never said they had a connection or something, because they didn't, it was a very one-sided relationship.

Not wanting to kiss your girlfriend of two years until she starts bothering you about it is very telling to. Like I know aromantic/asexual people exist, but I doubt he had the same treatment with Brooke.

And honestly, despite the cheating, I felt bad for Mark, he seemed exhausted by that relationship. Like I said, Quinn was always dragging him around and experimenting with him. Plus, she was clingy, something that just didn't resonate with him (which makes me wonder: if him and Stacey are still together how did that worked out? since she is clingier than Quinn). I understand him leaving as soon as he could, it was a bad relationship for both.

Logan:

Like you pointed out, Logan was the first to say "I love you", and he did it publicly, he screamed it at the top of his lungs in front of a crowd, to her. But the first time he said it was to Stacey, and I really love his response to "why don't you want to kiss me" wasn't him telling her he didn't like her (which obviously he didn't), what came naturally to him was "because I love Quinn!", and it's so cute because he said in on accident, so it was the truth, that was his main reason that het slip, he doesn't want to kiss another girl because Quinn is the one he loves, the only one he wants to kiss from now on.

It was such a grand and meaningful gesture, a huge contrast to her previous relationship. This boy, unlike Mark, loves her so much he doesn't want to be with anyone else, he doesn't want to keep hiding their relationship, not if that means having to pretend to be interested in someone else, I love how he confirmed it again, with no regrets despite the guy behind him asking judgmentally "you love Quinn", like as soon as the words came out of his mouth he realized it was not worth hiding it, it didn't matter anymore if people were going to judge him (and for someone like Logan that's a huge step).

It was a very beautiful scene, it not only showed his love for her was bigger than his concern of what people would think, bigger than his ego, in a more subtle way it also showed he rather deal with that than being disloyal to her, even if it's just pretending, and that says a lot of how how different he is as a boyfriend.

I also do believe on that headcanon that he loved her (or at the very least was crushing on her) before the bench scene, just in denial.

And it's kinda funny, how Mark seemed inoffensive yet he cheated and Logan was seen as the womanizer, yet he was loyal to Quinn.

Quinn's Jealousy Issues:

Many years ago I read the take that Quinn didn't love Logan as much because she wasn't jealous like with Mark, and I honestly disagree.

I believe jealousy roots from insecurities, and Quinn is a very confident girl, so I get why people wouldn't agree her jealousy stems from that, but hear me out.

Like it was mentioned above, Mark wasn't very affectionate and didn't seem interested in Quinn, maybe he thought she didn't need it, but for someone like Quinn, who is constantly seeking romantic gestures and cuddlings/kisses/just any kind of intimacy, it's clear she does. I found it interesting how she knew how many days he had been acting weird, it showed she is attentive to details, she notices and cares for those things. I know it could be attributed to just a quirky thing of hers, but I don't think it is.

I think Mark's lack of, well, participation on the relationship did affect her confidence on their relationship and herself, so that's where her jealousy comes from, she's a smart girl, deep down she must've known he wasn't as into her as she was into him, so she feared someone would take him away (and she was right!), I think her jealousy came from the insecurities the one-sided aspect of that relationship. It was also his poor communication skills, he was always like "yea... I guess... uh..."

With Logan though, she seemed chiller about it. She still got jealous about him taking "make out Mandy" to prom, but I think that was it. It was just, like, normal jealousy, for lack of better words. And I think that's for how attentive Logan was, he showed his interest constantly, he was affectionate, he cared, their relationship was built on good communication, he made her feel wanted and loved, something she didn't feel with Mark, it's hard to feel wanted and loved when someone doesn't want you nor love you.

She didn't have to drag Logan along or force him to show his love, he came to her and he was doing all that willingly, like you said he made the first moves from the bench scene, stopping to confort her and staying despite being told by her to leave was the first move.

Telling her what he really think of her was a first move too, I just can't stress enough how special it is to me that Logan was the only one that said he prefers her as herself.

Ever from the bench scene he rebuilds her confidence, and he does it by just loving her and showing her with his actions and words, not on purpose, he just does it, he just loves her so much he can't help letting her know. And I think that's why Quinn is not as jealous with Logan, because she doesn't have to fear someone taking him away, not when he's clinging to her side and when she is on a healthy relationship based on reciprocate love and good communications.

Overall, Logan not only loved Quinn, he also liked her, and had no problem letting her know that.

Jealousy from their part:

There's not much to say about Mark here, so I'll just jump to Logan.

The "well, he's not [Quinn's boyfriend] anymore!" scene and him not letting her invite the shirtless guy to prom may not be the only times we've seen him jealous. If we take into consideration that he might have been into Quinn before the bench kiss, we can see his treatment of Mark in a different light. Like we all know Logan was a jerk, but he seemed to specially dislike Mark, making fun of him, not caring at all if he was injured/injuring himself (I really wish I had a gif or at least a pic of when he threw that frisbie at Mark, you can see in his face he did that on purpose and enjoy it), like he generally disliked him.

I do believe he was jealous, and seemed to calm down once he had Quinn.

The Relationship:

I'll make this point short because it's basically repeating what I already said.

Quinn-Mark relationship was one-sided, with Quinn doing most of the emotional and physical labor, Mark either reacted to her or was forced to reciprocate, but rarely even initiated intimacy, they had poor communication skills from his part. Overall, he wasn't into it as she was.

Quinn-Logan relationship was fully reciprocated, with Logan doing as much emotional and physical labor, he willingly spend time with her, showed affection and love, meeting Quinn's expectations and both parts communicated perfectly, working as a team to solucionate any problem they may have. Overall, Logan was an active part of the relationship and was very much into it an her, just as much as Quinn.

TL;DR: In a shocking turn of events, Logan turned out to be the most boyfriend material of the cast. The boyfriend Quinn dreamed of.

now, to answer the rest of the ask.

I also hope Logan got carried away on the thrill of giving Quinn the perfect wedding, making their day as especial as possible.

I love love love that you wrote "Logan is finally seeing that knowing someone before just making out with them makes you want them more" because yes! this is new for him too, this is his first relationship and it was so cute how he was like "alright, I love this, I'm never letting go" (don't even bring up that "they break up at least once" hc, I refuse to believe it, let me live in denial)

I also hope they're not just background comic relief, I hope they treat this beautiful ship with the respect it deserves, hope they don't forget they're the most loved couple for a reason and actually the reason why 90% of ppl will be watching that movie

I’ve been trying to get these thoughts out for days but basically I feel like the unifying theory of s16 (as I see it) is a conscious exploration of the dichotomy between sunny as a classically bold and brash pee pee poo poo comedy and sunny as a thoughtful, nuanced and subtle show about flawed people and also about itself, at times (by that I mean the meta isn’t always about macdennis or the other characters but about sunny itself - win an award, clip show, big mo, etc). the trailer actually captures this dichotomy well through the dialogue clips and animations, as well as the pinned comment which said “get ready for a whole lot of subtlety.” it’s still so baffling to me that sunny can simultaneously read as one of the most loud, obnoxious, unsubtle shows ever on television, OR it can be so subtle and allegorical in the writing of later seasons that most viewers would think people like us are crazy for reading so much into it even though we’re really not. this kind of self-reflective flavor is another product of the rewatch/podcast project which has been almost universally agreed to have had a very positive effect on the writing.

anyway having said that, I want to just share my notes on the first two episodes without trying to edit them too much. I’m bolding the points that I personally haven’t seen anyone else mention yet and putting a 😎 next to ones that evoke a Classic Sunny VibeTM because that’s important to the experiment of this season.

charlie asks frank to “return everything to the status quo” by the end of the episode, sitcom style. full reset, no progression. except charlie is asking that frank not endlessly take advantage of the fact that mac and den can’t figure their shit out, not totally push dee out just because it’s easy, not make light of the trauma charlie has from what happened to him. all that stuff IS the status quo! so what is he really asking for? this is one of the bits of writing that I think is also about the show as a show, and how they’ve approached these dynamics forever. 

it’s funny that people are saying this season is such a return to form because it is, but it’s also so much more self-aware of what that form is/was and how deeper elements can coexist within it. they’re really walking with a foot in both worlds here and they’re doing it well. love this for them and for us, the people who know what it’s always sunny in philadelphia is REALLY about

I was rewatching the new S3 trailer and do you think that shot from above of two people dancing when the text says even a wallflower could be Benedict and Sophie? I haven't seen anyone suggest it yet so maybe not but I don't know who else it would be!

I’ve seen a few people suggest it but if you look carefully the male appears to have no shirt on so I very much doubt that it is Benophie.

I don’t think they’d throw that much of a clue for Benophie in the trailer in any instance even for part 2…

So I think if anything it’s just some performers are one of the parties.

So it’s been pretty much a week now and having rewatched the first episode of Only Friends a couple of times, and before the next episode drops Saturday I wanted to ramble and put down some thoughts I can look back on about how much I love this show so far. (I know it’s only been 1 episode but fuck it.)

Firstly, I want to compliment the aesthetics of the show. The styling of sets and the characters are striking. Lighting, soundtrack, the colouring of the scenes. I’m no film student or anything, but for me it’s a good looking show. And I love the vibes. It has an edge beyond that of the BL tag in my mind. It’s got those QAF and Skins vibes as well as other shows about young adults we had here in the UK that I watched growing up, and I love it.

The sex stuff (+mature/toxic behaviour). I’m aware there are various opinions and comparisons. Too little, too much. This show vs that show/movie. There’s space for all kinds of shows/stories. You want fluffy sure, second turn on the right. Want trauma inducing and everybody dies, keep heading straight at the crossroads. You have the right to not watch and let others enjoy what they enjoy. Regardless of gender/sexuality humans are flawed. They screw up their own lives and other peoples, and they fuck (except those who don’t). Personally, I consume anything that’s entertaining and god damn Only Friends is entertaining.

Anyway, personally, I thought the sex fit in nicely to the story. And I say story because I’m not really one to just want to watch or read about people shagging for the sake of it. Actually, I once submitted a story to a publisher and (feeling like Up’s character in Lovely Writer here) they wanted me to up the heat and add more sex. For me, I need a purpose, even if the sex is the purpose. For example Boston in this episode. Fucking was the reason. It was part of his character. The scene was for his gratification not the viewers. I loved it being all rushed and frantic and there being only one goal - to come. And mixing it with Nick wanking and them climaxing at the same time. Genius scene to be honest. And to follow that up later with them actually getting together and the classic fade to black. We know what’s gonna go down - Nick’s hand down Boston’s pants that’s what 😃

Then we have Top and Mew, a very different scene - slower, more intimate. These characters have very different intentions. Top chasing the goal of Mew’s virginity. To succeed he needs to go steady, lull Mew in by making him feel good. And then Mew who’s maybe pushing his limits as to what he’s comfortable with. As a once virgin myself, I can’t argue with him wanting a little attention, some kisses, and some chest groping lol. But in the end, he cant go all the way, at least not with a one night stand, so the scene shifts. Top maybe pushes it, but I’m glad he ended up being a decent guy (at least in this moment) and accepted Mew wasn’t ready.

So characters.

No point in me hiding it but I’m here because of Khaotung, Neo and First. Khao has had my heart since 2gether. Neo got added to that list after TonhonChonlatee (sorry Tonhon but Na was where it was at lol) and then the trinity was completed with The Eclipse with First. So, high on my Eclipse feels I’m hit with the Only Friends trailer and it was an immediate ‘sign me up’. Since then, Mark did get my interest, loved him in MSP and MLC, and I’ve also got to know Book and Force more since A Boss and a Babe (sorry if any Enchante lovers see this - at the time I only watched ep 1 and it didn’t grab me so have yet to finish it - maybe one day lol).

The fact Khaotung is playing him is a big bonus but have to say RAY is currently my favourite character. I have a soft spot for the characters who seem to be dealing with baggage and I would assume binge drinking, and considering himself ‘unimportant’ are likely signs (along with other bits seen from the trailer). He seems like a dickhead but is actually a squishy baby who needs love and protection (mainly from himself). At least my take so far. I am worried about him and his lack of self preservation, he’s lucky Sand was a stand up guy because handing your phone, car and yourself over to a stranger is a terrible idea. He was passed out and defenceless and if Sand was looking to take advantage in some way, he could have been in real trouble. (Thinks about the sobbing scene in the trailer) I hope nothing bad has or will happen to him if he’s in such a drunken state again. It’s sad he would have just accepted Sand and him had had sex because Sand was hot.

Moving on to SAND. Though a bit aggressive in a ‘I’m so done with everybody’ kind of way, he seems to be a decent guy who just wanted to take a piss in peace lol. We didn’t get too much of him. He gave me mature and big bro vibes and was rubbing Ray’s back when he was retching over the loo - wonder if he’s done that for anyone else in his life? He was a bit standoffish to start (rightly so at some points) but seemed to soften up a bit when Ray was genuinely apologising and saying thanks to him. Also, the slight look/hesitation when Ray asked him if he knew him in the bathrooms. Does he? Even if from a distance? Can’t wait to see where these two go from here.

Next. BOSTON. Well, he certainly likes to get his end away. I don’t dislike him (yet). Screwing around doesn’t make you a bad person. Chasing after red wristbands might make you a little bit of a dick, but I’m generally less against the ‘third party’ and more judging the one who has a partner who is doing the cheating (though here it was more an open, we enjoy a threesome relationship he was getting entangled in). Anyway, I enjoyed Boston and his facial expressions, and his ‘hunting’. Will reevaluate when he starts breaking hearts.

And first in line to get his heart broken, NICK. Not sure our boy will be getting employee of the month snooping through customer phones and jerking off to their half naked selfies lol. He seems a nice enough guy, and as with all the characters it was a decent intro to him. I enjoyed the tension between him and Boston. He recognised him from uni it seems so maybe had his eye on him and finally got a chance to interact, which they certainly did. The preview already showed him getting attached so I’m ready for him to be heartbroken 💔

MEW. A seemingly precious baby who just wants to read his books and save his virginity for something more meaningful than a one night stand. Haven’t much to say about him at the moment as taking him at face value for now. But interested to see how he gets to the point of yeeting Boston into the pool in the trailer lol.

TOP. *narrows eyes* I have no idea if I trust him. He clearly had one mission at the start, but then based on his and Mew’s conversation over ice cream, and how it seems others only view him as the top of the top, a prize to hook up with, I did feel like he was genuinely surprised and intrigued by Mew stopping the hookup before sex. In his scene with Boston, he also said he wanted to date Mew, but because he found him interesting. I don’t know if it’s still a bit of a challenge to him to get Mew to date him because it’d be fun, so whether his goal is still to try and get laid and then he’d dump Mew and move on… We’ll see I guess *side eyes trailer*

(NAM?)CHEUM. Not too much of her but she fits in well as the fourth member on the main friend group. Would be interesting to see how they know each other and for how long. Guess we’ll have to wait and see if she gets a storyline of her own or if, as she had a red wristband on, it’ll be happy lesbian shenanigans now and again to contrast everyone else’s drama and her being there observing her friends self destruct.

Thinky thoughts going into the next episodes.

1. Please tell me the guy Yo is with in the intro is called Lo.

2. I’m wondering if Papang is playing Nick’s boss. Can’t remember the trailer scene setting well other than a laptop in front of them. Maybe he catches Nick and Boston on the cctv.

3. Top & Boston scene in the trailer. Could it be a flashback? Didn’t feel like a flashback but who knows. Assuming it’s not, I wonder what gets Top to a point where he can’t wait for Mew anymore and bangs Boston? Did they have a fight? Were they ‘on a break’? Did Mew pick Ray or something else over him? (I’ve seen the outfit analysing lol)

4. I’m gonna repeat here that I’m worried Ray will get himself in some real trouble getting blackout drunk. He has his arm in a sling in one scene in the trailer so there could be an accident or a fight. But he’s also a sobbing mess and Mew comforting him and well… I hope he stays safe.

5. Interested to see who and how Title’s character will tie into what’s going on. Pilot trailer implied he’s a friend/worked at the bar with Sand.

6. Nick already got them heart eyes. Poor boy’s gonna suffer. But props for the bold move of sending Boston that photo.

7. Oh yeah, Drake! I’d gone with it maybe being Papang out of the cast we knew about from the trailer. Well done to the people who were like ‘that’s Drake’ lol. I had joked about hoping they just brought in a whole bunch of the gmmtv boys to play one night stands or drunken kisses on the dance floor so I’m one for one for boys and episode so far lol.

8. Mew hiding behind and pushing Cheum towards a vomiting Ray in the first scenes was everything lol.

9. Ray’s outfits 😍

10. They did pretty well covering up The 1975’s poster in Sand’s apartment as had to go see when I saw someone point it out (I can’t imagine trying to edit around moving, talking characters)

13. And about that. Public propositions like that are a hell no from me. I’d hate to be cornered like that. I mean it’s okay if you’re going to say yes I suppose. But what if it’s not a yes? Like what do you do in front of everyone. Say no and look like the asshole?

14. Top washed his hands after going to the bathroom. Top tier indeed.

15. That intro sequence going from one character to the next - very cool. Also the days of the week montage.

17. Props to the friends wanting to turn the theory business plan of a hostel into the real thing. I think I’d be Boston in the group and just be dragged along and agree to whatever lol.

19. Watching everyone’s expression regarding Ray, Mew and Top. Boston knows Ray likes Mew and damn if he doesn’t seem to enjoy poking at him. Also at one point I started to wonder if there was anything else beyond jealousy between Ray and Top. Probably just Ray having had some drinks so reacting in no way subtly lol. And then Mew’s expressions when Ray leaves both times. Does he know? Is he just concerned his friend is storming off and drinking? Hmm.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie: From the POV of a fangirl (Spoilers. Duh.)

So my friends asked for this and I adore that they actually care so I made it!

I needed at least a day to relax and collect my thoughts. I don’t normally do movie reviews as South Park is the only thing I talk about on here but Mario has taken over my life this year and it’s somewhat thanks to this movie! Again beware of spoilers! I have a lot to say, some good, some bad. But just know I warned you.

Just to give a little background, I’ve played Mario games since I was a kid, with my main two being Mario Kart Wii and New Super Mario Bros. on the DS. I’ve always enjoyed the games and I became an even bigger fan after playing Mario Odyssey (which to this day is my favorite Mario game… actually my favorite game of all time right behind Bully). I’ll admit I was worried the first time I heard about a movie, especially considering it was being made by Illumination. But after seeing the trailer I was HOOKED LIKE A FISH and reeled into the fanbase! I knew the promos and trailers would spoil a lot of the movie but there was nothing stopping me at that point.

And unlike most movies, I really enjoyed the months of hype leading up to it! I had so much fun over-analyzing the promos and discovering new fan artists… and read some incredible fanfics imma be honest. And of course catching up on all the games I missed out on as a kid! All this to say that as much as I enjoyed the movie, the outside effect of it was even better.

Now for the movie itself! Let me start off saying that it was clearly made with love. This wasn’t something made to market more games or advertise Nintendo. This was a thank you gift to the fans, new and old. They also went HARD with the promo! Being able to actually call Super Mario Bros. Plumbing? Genius.

The animation was beautiful. The attention to detail—like Bowser’s scales, the decor on Peach's crown and the highlights in the characters' eyes. So pretty. I also really loved how expressive every character was! It was so easy to tell what emotions they were feeling without the dialogue needed to express it. When y’all rewatch it, please pay attention to the beginning of the movie when Luigi finally gets his plate of food. His reaction is so freaking adorable and I wanna draw it. The action scenes were so fluid and Mario and Luigi’s bond was shown through touch alone. I loved that!

Don’t even get me started on the soundtrack. They really put their all into it and I recognized so many subtle melodies and themes that took me right back to playing the games! The end credits music legit made my friend cry, hehe yeah I’m calling you out. Even the few pop culture songs that were added were very well timed and not overused! Also the Plummer Rap from “Super Mario Brothers Super Show” was a brilliant start, even if I already listened to it a thousand times after it was released in the promo. That song even got me to check out the show itself. Only episode one though. Watching ghosts lick Bowser’s feet wasn’t it for me. Speaking of Bowser, his ballad to Peach was absolutely amazing. Wonderful performance from Jack Black and he even wrote it too! Please watch the end credits if you haven't, there’s MORE!

But I’d say my favorite part of the movie was the characterization. I know Miyamoto oversaw the whole thing but I’m still impressed with how accurate the characters’ personalities were. Luigi was perfectly anxious, Mario was protective and charismatic, Peach was agreeable and assertive and Bowser was tough yet insecure. The dynamics were also great! I loved how genuine Luigi and Mario’s bond was. I also enjoyed Mario and Peach's subtle flirting that never gets addressed in the end (which is exactly like the games, I seriously love it!). I’m also super glad that it showed a bit of Bowser and Kamek interaction. Although I would’ve loved them to explore their “father and son” bond. GIMME FOUND FAMILY DAMN IT. Oh yeah and Toad wasn’t annoying! He was definitely the comedic relief but they didn’t overdo it! Him and his huge kart was my favorite thing. He’s just a silly little guy.

They definitely made it their mission to absolutely fill the movie with references and it was much appreciated! My personal favorites being the game cube ringtone, blue shell, cheep cheeps and the environments as a whole. I enjoyed the appearances of side characters like Kamek, Spike and Pauline. But I was honestly hoping for a few more like Daisy, Rosalina, Toadette and JUNIOR AND KOOPALINGS, DANG IT! You’re telling me they put so much emphasis on Bowser's sentimental side but didn’t include him being a father??? (Yes I know the koopalings aren’t technically his kids but Junior is and I was really disappointed at the lack of his presence).

But that brings me to the few problems I did have with this movie. And they all stem from the runtime length. It was WAY too short. And not in the way of “omg I loved it so much I need more!” No. It actually needed to be longer. I even heard it was supposed to be but things were cut? The pacing was too fast and there wasn’t enough time for individual character arcs. Don’t get me wrong there were conflicts, but they were resolved almost as soon as they began.

I’m also disappointed in the lack of Luigi content once they left Brooklyn. He really was just put in a cage for most of it, which is what everyone was worried about. It was cool to see him confront his fears to save his brother in the end but it would’ve felt more emotional and deserved if we got to see his internal struggles during his capture. I really loved that hot air balloon scene where he recalls a childhood memory of him and Mario. That! That’s what I wanted more of! I know there wasn’t much he could do in a cage but I was really hoping he’d be involved in attempting to convince Bowser to not go through with his plans. Or maybe even a scene where he tries to encourage the others that were captured to work as a team to escape or something. Idk man, I’m sure they could’ve come up with something good if they were just GIVEN A LONGER RUN TIME. They could’ve done a lot with an extra 20 minutes. I promise for the animators sake I would’ve waited months longer for this movie. Or they could’ve cut the dog and eel scenes honestly.

And as much as I appreciated them showing Bowser’s sentimental side (seriously it was one of the things I was hoping for the most). I really wish they could’ve done something with it other than just comedy. Don’t get me wrong, Bowser was so cute trying to woo Peach. He made me smile till my face hurt. But it’s clear he’s really lonely and rejected, and they could’ve done something a little deeper with that. When he told Mario that he ruined his chance to “finally be happy” the whole theater went “awww”. In the end he could’ve learned love from his subjects or his FAMILY. Sorry I’m still pretty peeved about that. Even something as simple as him befriending Luigi would’ve been a really nice touch but I guess I ask for too much. But nope they just shrunk him, put him in a jar and left him like that. Even main antagonists deserve good endings at times. I was kinda hoping they’d pull a “Lego Batman Movie” and force him to see that he’s hurting his kingdom in the process of his pursuit and he’d need to help in order to get everyone back home. Kinda corny I know but Lego Batman managed to do it with Joker in a way that wasn’t OOC. I was just missing the complexity. Still, I can’t complain about Bowser getting the shit beaten out of him and the classic tail spin move. I’ll admit I’ve always found Bowser’s defeats hilarious in the games. Please look up the ending of Bowsers Fury if you haven’t played it. I laughed for hours. I’m sorry Bowser but your pain is my gain at times. Also the large group of people who sat behind us had the exact same opinions, which felt validating. THEY ALSO WANTED JUNIOR DAMN IT!

The merging between the two worlds at the end was pretty unexpected. I honestly think they added that in there so that Mario and Luigi could see their family again. But the concept of them being thrown into a magical world and not knowing how to get back home brings so much mystery and excitement. Kind of like how it felt watching The Owl House and Amphibia. But I appreciate that it’s implied they now live in the mushroom kingdom and can probably visit their family from time to time. Now that I think of it… going back to Luigi… why on earth would he want to stay?? He was sent straight to hell the moment he got there and was put in a cage for the rest of the movie and almost died a gruesome death. If Luigi had more screen time where he befriended someone, ANYONE, it would’ve given him an incentive to actually stay, other than just sticking with Mario.

Overall I’d say the movie did what it was set out to do. Which was to give fans a fun, nostalgic adventure. I’m not too sure if one would enjoy it if they’ve never played a single Mario game. It went hard on the animation and soundtrack, the voice actors did a good job (especially Jack Black and Charlie Day. Hell, even Chris Pratt did a good job). It wasn’t perfect. It was definitely too rushed for my taste and I would’ve appreciated it if they had slowed things down a bit. Luigi is currently my favorite character, so naturally I’m disappointed we couldn’t get more of him. Oh well, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it more on the rewatch.

I suppose I should format this like my South Park reviews for the sake of consistency.

So that means it’s time for the ratings!

Things I liked:

• Bowser. Every moment he was on screen made me happy. I love him so much.

• The characters' personalities were spot on!

• The facial expressions and character designs. Very pretty movie to look at fr!

Things I disliked:

• Too fast paced. Needed room to breathe.

• Kept asking “where’s Luigi?”

• A general lack of my favorite trope “found family” when they easily could’ve used it with Bowser

Should I do ship of the day too? Eh, may as well. Congratulations Bowuigi! That damn trailer spawned a bunch of y’all even though the ship is a decade old. Hope y’all didn’t go into the movie expecting too much. It’s alright, we’ll get ‘em next time boys.

A good movie that was loyal to the games but the wait for it was better. I’m gonna go play Mario Galaxy now.

Tears fo the Kingdom speculations

  The last trailer hadn’t managed to make me as excited as this one. Not remotely close. The freedom this game promises seems incredible, and, what’s better, seems that will be kind of managed alongside a more relevant story. 

1. Sidon being King? = things happening in hyrule?

In the past game it seemed that the story mostly revolved around descovering what had happened in the past which, given the fact that Link had lost his memories, kind of makes sense. But I’m all excited for the fact that it seems this game will have a story you progress with. What do I mean? Eventhough we can not be certain, I read someone that pointed out Sidon was wearing his father’s crown. As I rewatched the trailer, I tried to take notice of that, only to find out something even more interesting. In the firtst clip we see of him, while fighting alongside Link, he does not seem to be wearing it. However, in that last scene where Riju, Sidon and, presumably, Teba’s son are together (I don’t know his name in english), he does. That lead me to think that, maybe, it has something to do with an event that will occur during game. This may imply that maybe in this time we’ll see more stuff going on around us and the characters as the game progresses, something that was kind of lost in Breath of the Wild.

2. Hylia or Zelda 

I can not decide who is meant to be the girl with the green eyes and the not-at-all-hylian traits. I’ve heard it may be a transformed Zelda. Is not crazy to think so as we can see on her neckalce a glowing gem that could very well be the one they pay special focus on, a few scenes back, on her hands. However there’s a part of me that thinks it just means that both Zelda and said character (could be Hylia as it has also been speculated) will play an important role and be connected somehow. Remember that Skyward Sword Zelda is meant to be the reincarnation of Hylia. Does someone know actually how much similar to you needs to be a reincarnation? Is it... mandatory? If it were, it could be a very good explanation on why they look alike. 

This leads to another (and bigger) question:

3. Who is the one on the wall carvings?

Three figures pop into my mind. The green-eyed girl, the misterious one that speaks with Zelda, and that first creature. The size makes me think that figure speaking with zelda could be a choice (plus, they don’t show its face. Could it be for a reason?). Anyhow, the first creature we see shares undoubtedly some traits with the one of the carvings (Specially the eye on the forhead, the really long ears with a very similar decoration, and, maybe, the fact that seems the least human-like). But what about the blonde one? Is it Zelda? Is it Hylia? If it were her, is it ever Hylia the one in the carvings? Is it another deity? Is it even a deity?

4. More lively hyrule 

In my opinion, one of the most exciting things about the trailer was that the people of Hyrule seem to be more involved. Not only we see Link carrying some of them in a carriage (he seems to have crafted, or at least fixed), but also we are presented two other important scenes: one were we see some hylians, along with a goron, a gerudo and Link, looking at somewere... But are they ready for something?. And, a second one, that features a buch of hylians on the field fighting against some bokoblins. Plus, Hyrule seems to be actually getting rebuilt.

5. What’s with Teba? 

We see Riju, se see Sidon... but Teba is nowhere to be found (Nor Yunobo, but it’s something else what shocks me). Somehow, we see a little not-so-little orni that (I’ve searched for a picture to make sure) seems to be an older version of Teba’s son. (We can asume he has grown I guess). Does the absence of Yunobo and Teba, and the appearance of Teba’s son imply that not all “descendants” of the champions will have an important role? Or is it just that we haven’t seen all yet? 

6. Companions?

It is said by a voice I have not recognised that Link won’t be alone. All this while showing a scene of Sidon and Link fighting in what seems to be the lands above. Are we facing the return of some kind of companion figure, but this time, it’s more than one? The fact that we also see Link in various scenes with Teba’s son makes me think of this “companions” as punctual companions, which is most likely, as we also see Link wondering most of his time alone.

We could also mention what seems to be the return of the dungeons (or some kind of similar type of mazes), the new items, abilities, attires... 

NOTE: I have not seen any of the leaked content (nor I want to) so, if something here is wrong because of my lack of information, my apologies.

I haven’t seen anyone point this out yet, but if you look closely at this shot of Soren from the season 4 teaser, there’s a hooded figure to the right. I think it might be Rayla.

In the clips we’ve seen so far, I’ve been surprised that Soren hasn’t been with Ezran since he’s part of the crown guard, and that’s where he was at the end of season 3. My guess is that he’s out looking for Claudia or Rayla, or both.

We can’t see much of the cloak in this shot, but it looks a bit like the one Rayla wore in 1x07 (it’s been a while since I’ve done a rewatch and I don’t remember any other instances of her wearing it off the top of my head).

Also, the figure is turning away and hiding their face while Soren looks up. Could it possibly be a recently swordless Rayla hiding from something/someone chasing her?

I know I don’t have a ton of evidence for this, but I think it’s a viable if tenuous theory.

Basically I think it’d be hilarious if Rayla was in the teaser trailer all along.

“You never trust me!” in Ep7?

This very well could be me shouting into the void, but I have to get this off of my chest: I desperately want the much-anticipated “You never trust me!” scene next episode. Like, I need that scene like I need air to breathe. I haven’t even seen it yet, but I know I will never get over it. 

I think there’s a high probability it will be next episode, since we are supposedly getting The Pool scene in Ep8 or 9. I suppose it could also be Ep8 if Ep9 turns out to be the pool episode. Regardless, I think it is happening soon. 

But. But. I don’t see how it can make sense next episode without a decent-sized time jump...which could very well happen based on how quickly we moved past Porsche’s injury. But Kinn’s Ep6 injury is more severe than Porsche’s was, so the recovery time would have to be much longer. 

After thinking this through, I decided to do some...ahem...research, and I’ve picked up on a few things.

So I was rewatching the trailer when Kinn is shooting/pointing a gun at Vegas.

He’s holding the gun in his left hand. But...

He gets shot in the left shoulder/chest area. Looks pretty gnarly too. And yet, when he is pointing the gun at Vegas, he looks unaffected--no sign of bandaging or anything. 

Of course, I’m not saying this means that the bathroom scene can’t happen next episode. I might be picking at meaningless details, but I just don’t see how the timing can make sense in Ep7, assuming everything happens relatively soon after the events of Ep6. (Of course, they could blast me with a huge time jump and disrupt all of this, but I just can’t fathom them going too far ahead in time after everything that’s happened.) 

TV injuries obviously aren’t the same as real injuries, so the recovery time could be changed a bit. But am I crazy for pondering this, or could it mean something for the timeline of future episodes? Does this actually make the bathroom scene in Ep8 more likely, or does the timeline of Kinn’s recovery really have little to do with it?

summary: Torn follows the senior he’s in love with, Tupfah, to a sports university. Once he gets there, things aren’t like he imagined it would be.

where to watch: dramacool

grade: 7,5/10

pros:

- the cinematography, filming & production is BEAUTIFUL. honestly I had zero intentions of watching this show until they came up with those beautifully edited trailers, and you can find the same quality for this show. it’s very encouraging to see an otherwise very basic & boring bl show still get some original cinematography, and it’s definitely the best aspect of the show imo.

- I think all the ships had very good chemistry & quite solid acting, as well as a lot of potential.

- I liked some of the aspects of the writing which makes sense bc this was written by one of the I told sunset about you screenwriters & y’all know I consider that show absolutely perfect on every level. I loved the focus on every emotion, especially small ones that are usually glossed over in most shows, which was definitely very reminiscent of itsay. the writing definitely had a lot of potential, but... let’s go to the cons.

cons:

- the story feels empty. I get that it’s a slice of life of these students in university, sure, but there is not one storyline in there that actually caught my attention. in fact, on paper the storylines seemed 10000% more interesting that in execution, where they were all rendered the most boring possible. I could feel the potential screaming underneath the surface the entire time I was watching the show, but it sadly stopped there...

- the directional choices were... just bad. the actors are pretty solid, I know it because I’ve seen some of them in other roles, yet here because the show intentionally went for this very slow, kinda film d’auteur effect (badly done because that definitely works in many movies & series but not this one), not only do the dialogues take fucking forever to be delivered so we barely register them, but also it makes the actors look bad at their jobs. for me the directing is by far the biggest issue for this show bc genuinely... I’ve rarely seen a show with THIS GOOD of a cinematography give us absolutely nothing in the other departments.

- the relationships are rushed as hellllllll. the interesting part of romance is watching the characters fall in love and develop their relationship, but here all the ships just fall in a relationship over the course of only one episode, which, when paired with the rest of this show that is just boring as hell, gives it almost no redeeming quality apart from its cinematography and unused potential.

would I rewatch it: nope

For a show that clearly had so much care & authenticity put into it, this was... underwhelming to say the least. I personally wouldn’t recommend it, just go watch ITSAY instead.

I have the desperate need to write a fanfic about at least two (is this my desperate need for shipping? It is, isn’t it?) characters end up travelling through time (and possibly space) in the Pokémon Universe (can you tell I’ve been watching Doctor Who? Yesterday I watched the episode where Rose fucks up trying to stop her father from dying and Nine is just like “you fucked up”) which compared to my current fanfics (two bounty hunters and a mercenary-for-hire go to every Pokémon region basically in order, two Paradox Pokémon and a turtle meet a bunch of futuristic racers and then discover there are more Paradox Pokémon than they thought there were, two bounty hunters and a mercenary-for-hire discover the universe that got sidelined in favour of at least one of the bounty hunters, the most powerful starter Pokémon in existence go up again… an electric rat and a dragon and possibly a genetically mutated cat and an AU where at least the ACNH newcomers (1.0 and 2.0) are actually human adults living in the Pokémon Universe - yeah I haven’t got a name for that one yet I’ve just been calling it The Pokémon AU and chapter 1 isn’t finished yet) seems like a fairly different story idea but my problem is I don’t know who I want as the main characters but I know who to rule out:

Falcon, Samus, Fox and one other are excluded because of AitPU. The first three are also excluded because of Mach Speed

Terapagos, Phoenix, QQQ, Raging Bolt, Iron Crown, Dino Entei and Robo Terrakion are excluded because of Temporal Boost

Spire, Noxus, Miyu and Fay are excluded because of my eventual sequels to TB (as much as I’d love to focus this on Miyu and Fay)

^ since Spire and Noxus are excluded, I’m also excluding the rest of the MPH Hunters

Walking Wake and Iron Leaves aren’t excluded because I’m not sure how to do this if there aren’t any Psychic-types related to time and I don't like Sinnoh. Alternatively I could go for Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant. This is inspired by Doctor Who and I have thought about those two being the Doctor bc of that trailer for Paradox Rift

Draq and Roger or Jody and Kate would be cool. Maybe the reason I’m unsure about them is because I seem to have thought it would be nice to have a male/female pair or multiple male/female pairs

There are many Animal Crossing characters I’ve considered but I’ve said no bc of the Pokémon AU. That said, I wouldn’t mind writing about either Meow and Bow or Fang and Freya (I think I’d prefer Fang and Freya but I don’t think they’d work well for whatever it is I clearly haven’t thought out. That said, if it’s detectives I want, they might not be a bad choice)

For some reason I’ve thought of Robert and Pico. I don’t think I’ll go with that option. Pico and Goroh was also an idea and I don’t think I’ll go with that either

I think my favourite idea is strangely to go with the maidens from Zelda but I think I’d have to give them actual names (Blue could be Skyla, Purple could be Rosa, White could be Bianca (none of those were intentionally named after characters from Gen 5)… the only thing stopping me from going with Stella and Pyramid for Yellow and Red is how samey they sound (and that was before I came up with Bianca). Maybe Mint for Green

I could potentially do characters from the Wii series *thinks about the CPU Miis*… *Wii Fit Plus failure jingle plays*

Maybe some characters from Ring Fit Adventure? Idk

I could do a pair of Pokémon characters but I want it to be a crossover. That said I wouldn’t mind having a male character called Scarlet and a female character called Violet and just match their colour schemes (including hair) to their names from there

Maybe all I should do is just make a fanfic where the 9th/12th Doctor meets a Walking Wake and an Iron Leaves and they become companions - given I’m currently rewatching 9 I think I would prefer 9 but I feel like with the way I see Walking Wake and Iron Leaves 12 would be a better choice (maybe because 12 has had that kind of quirky companion or something while 9 hasn’t)

May 4, TOR @ BOS, 5-11, Win

Gosh. We just swept the Blue Jays. And pretty decisively at that. Yeah, there was an error from Raffy and a couple of unearned runs. And Ryan Brasier gave up a run. And a couple of 0-fers. But really, those don’t matter as much as scoring a bunch of runs on a starting pitcher who DEFINITELY had our number last season. Kevin Gausman dismantled our lineup in 2022, going 3-0 and striking out 47 in 6 games whilst walking only two. So some trepidation by Sox fans going into last night was certainly understandable. But the Scrappy Rollercoasters of 2023 are in no way the Dumpster Fires of 2022. I’ve not seen a Sox lineup grind out at-bats like this since the Tito era. Am I going to be able to start enjoying these games with out the spectre of doubt creeping into my soul? Maybe not yet. But my goodness, we’ve climbed out of the basement onto the middle of the ladder with only the Rays (who obviously signed a deal with the devil) and the O’s (I mean seriously, wtf?!) above us. So there are plenty of bright sides. 

Bello pitched a good game, far more efficient than Gausman and while he gave up four runs only two of them were earned. He struck out five and only walked one. Yeah, he gave up a dinger, but shit happens. Good job, Bello.

The top of the lineup was incendiary. Tapia, covering leadoff for Dugie, went 1-for-4 but still managed to score three runs and knock one in. What a total dude.

Yoshida, I feel, has figured out MLB pitching, going 3-for-5 with a dinger to start the game in the bottom of the first and two more RBIs after that. He scored thrice too. 

Justin Turner continues to be good. I don’t mention him much because I’m rubbish, but he’s been a very solid DH. Last night he went 3-for-5 with a RBI and two runs scored.

Devers broke out of his mini slump, as he tends to do, with a dinger, a bunch of RBIs (4!) - he went three-for-five and seemed super locked in.

Jarren Duran took a break from rewatching the new Dune trailer and managed to overcome his homesickness for Arrakis to go 3-for-5 and knock in a run. The only reason he didn’t have more RBIs is that everyone in front of him kept clearing the bases before he had a chance. 

Bernadino and Schreiber were lights out in relief with a hit and a walk between them over three innings combined. Considering the lineup they were up against, that is very good. 

We won six in a row!

The Yankees are in last place! Fuck those guys!
