#Pokémon x Doctor Who x who knows

I have the desperate need to write a fanfic about at least two (is this my desperate need for shipping? It is, isn’t it?) characters end up travelling through time (and possibly space) in the Pokémon Universe (can you tell I’ve been watching Doctor Who? Yesterday I watched the episode where Rose fucks up trying to stop her father from dying and Nine is just like “you fucked up”) which compared to my current fanfics (two bounty hunters and a mercenary-for-hire go to every Pokémon region basically in order, two Paradox Pokémon and a turtle meet a bunch of futuristic racers and then discover there are more Paradox Pokémon than they thought there were, two bounty hunters and a mercenary-for-hire discover the universe that got sidelined in favour of at least one of the bounty hunters, the most powerful starter Pokémon in existence go up again… an electric rat and a dragon and possibly a genetically mutated cat and an AU where at least the ACNH newcomers (1.0 and 2.0) are actually human adults living in the Pokémon Universe - yeah I haven’t got a name for that one yet I’ve just been calling it The Pokémon AU and chapter 1 isn’t finished yet) seems like a fairly different story idea but my problem is I don’t know who I want as the main characters but I know who to rule out:

Falcon, Samus, Fox and one other are excluded because of AitPU. The first three are also excluded because of Mach Speed

Terapagos, Phoenix, QQQ, Raging Bolt, Iron Crown, Dino Entei and Robo Terrakion are excluded because of Temporal Boost

Spire, Noxus, Miyu and Fay are excluded because of my eventual sequels to TB (as much as I’d love to focus this on Miyu and Fay)

^ since Spire and Noxus are excluded, I’m also excluding the rest of the MPH Hunters

Walking Wake and Iron Leaves aren’t excluded because I’m not sure how to do this if there aren’t any Psychic-types related to time and I don't like Sinnoh. Alternatively I could go for Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant. This is inspired by Doctor Who and I have thought about those two being the Doctor bc of that trailer for Paradox Rift

Draq and Roger or Jody and Kate would be cool. Maybe the reason I’m unsure about them is because I seem to have thought it would be nice to have a male/female pair or multiple male/female pairs

There are many Animal Crossing characters I’ve considered but I’ve said no bc of the Pokémon AU. That said, I wouldn’t mind writing about either Meow and Bow or Fang and Freya (I think I’d prefer Fang and Freya but I don’t think they’d work well for whatever it is I clearly haven’t thought out. That said, if it’s detectives I want, they might not be a bad choice)

For some reason I’ve thought of Robert and Pico. I don’t think I’ll go with that option. Pico and Goroh was also an idea and I don’t think I’ll go with that either

I think my favourite idea is strangely to go with the maidens from Zelda but I think I’d have to give them actual names (Blue could be Skyla, Purple could be Rosa, White could be Bianca (none of those were intentionally named after characters from Gen 5)… the only thing stopping me from going with Stella and Pyramid for Yellow and Red is how samey they sound (and that was before I came up with Bianca). Maybe Mint for Green

I could potentially do characters from the Wii series *thinks about the CPU Miis*… *Wii Fit Plus failure jingle plays*

Maybe some characters from Ring Fit Adventure? Idk

I could do a pair of Pokémon characters but I want it to be a crossover. That said I wouldn’t mind having a male character called Scarlet and a female character called Violet and just match their colour schemes (including hair) to their names from there

Maybe all I should do is just make a fanfic where the 9th/12th Doctor meets a Walking Wake and an Iron Leaves and they become companions - given I’m currently rewatching 9 I think I would prefer 9 but I feel like with the way I see Walking Wake and Iron Leaves 12 would be a better choice (maybe because 12 has had that kind of quirky companion or something while 9 hasn’t)

Hey there! I have no idea if you’ll see this, but I figured I’d send in an ask anyways.

You know that Blue Tears story you posted awhile back? Well, it’s really freaking good and has me coming back every once and awhile to reread it! I haven’t seen a lot of Blue Tears content, if any at all and my brain needs more.

So, could I request a sort of continuation to that story if that’s alright? Another Blue X Reader story that’s kinda Angsty and Hurt/Comfort focused?

I know you said to be specific with plot ideas, so I’ll try my best here:

It’s been awhile after Blue, Red and the Reader all came down from Mt. Silver, like a month or two. Red is doing better and has healed up but Blue has isolated himself and hardly leaves his house. Red and the Reader are hanging out (maybe the Reader is checking on him) and the topic of Blue comes up. Red’s concerned about him but he’s worried (and a little bit afraid) that Blue doesn’t want to see him, so he asks the Reader to check on him. So the Reader goes over to Blue’s house (maybe meeting Daisy briefly and asking her where Blue is) before going up to Blue’s bedroom door.

The Reader knocks and Blue answers. He ain’t looking to hot or sounding that great either. Bro is a mess. That guilty conscience hit him hard. Blue let’s the Reader in and Reader expresses their concern for him, along with saying that Red was worried about him to. Blue is kinda dismissive of it at first, but when the Reader tries to say that Blue is still their friend, he gets angry and thinks that it’s pity and not concern. Blue is angry, sad, and guilty. He feels like he doesn’t deserve the Reader or Red as friends and that he’s a murderer. Blue and the Reader kinda argue (well, Blue is arguing, Reader is calm and collected and trying to get Blue to calm down/get through to him because they know he’s not okay) and right before Blue screams something that he knows he’d regret later, he’s cut off by the Reader hugging him. After a couple seconds of just processing, he breaks down and cries, hugging them back and apologizing for yelling. The Reader just holds him and comforts him, telling him that he’s still deserving of care, that they and Red are still his friends, that they’re there for him, etc. (And maybe, after Blue has calmed down, the Reader helps him get outside a bit and get some fresh air after isolating himself.)

And that’s pretty much it! Also, sorry in advance for the long ask. I didn’t mean for it to be that long. I hope that plot isn’t too long or crazy. I just wrote out what was in my head.

It's been roughly a month since...well...

Since it happened.

Only you, Red, and Blue knew what that it was...as the rest of Kanto only knew the fabricated version of it.

That being a vicious Pokémon had attacked you three on the summit of Mt. Silver, with no one able to identify it through the blinding blizzard that kicked up.

That's the story you told the doctors, Daisy, and every other person who was concerned for your well-being.

But that's not what happened at all.

The true perpetrator was Blue, who attacked Red in an act of pure rage and grief, as he was convinced that his rival ruined his life, stole his family's praise, and inadvertently killed one of his most treasured Pokémon.

Somehow, he believed murder was the justifiable thing to do.

The only way he'd find any sort of relief or "peace".

Yet it only brought him more sorrow when you showed up and thwarted his attempts on Red's life--owing it to his Pidgeot for leading you straight to him.

Although he attempted to kill you too for interfering...you were able to snap him out of it and lead the pair down the mountain on Pidgeot's back, keeping a close eye on Blue in case he had another freakout.

Fortunately nothing else happened.

From there, the healing process could begin. But it was hard and painful, especially when you had to lie about everything...even to the professor himself.

As angry as you were at Oak for neglecting his only other family member, you couldn't exactly tell him that his grandson resorted to murder over sheer jealousy.

But despite everything, the three of you were slowly recovering from the trauma of that cold and snowy night.

Red's injuries were still being monitored, although he was okay enough to finally be discharged from the hospital (sporting only a few scrapes and bandaids that were hardly noticeable), and he arrived home to you and his relieved mother.

While she went out to run errands, you and him chatted for a few minutes. Considering how quiet he usually was, you did most of the talking while he did the listening.

You talked about the latest Pokémon you've captured, Lavender Town's most recent ghost story, the weather..

And Blue.

Of course, it's inevitable that the Donphan in the room had to be brought up. It couldn't be ignored forever..

But you noticed Red's subtle change of expression the second you brought up his name, and your eyebrows furrowed, worried that you've upset him. "Sorry, Red..I..I didn't mean-"

"No, it's fine." He assured you. "I haven't heard from him in a while.."

"...me neither. Daisy mentioned that he's been shutting himself in a lot more. I haven't seen him in days now."

"Yeah, I'm worried, too."

You blinked. "Really?"

Red nodded. "You should check on him."

"Wha--me? Would...you be okay with that?"

"I doubt he wants to see me, but...he'll definitely wanna see you. I just know it." He looked up, his brown eyes appearing soft as he gave you a small and comforting smile. "Just tell him...he's still our friend, okay?"

For a moment, you sat there astonished. You've never heard him talk this much in all the years you and Blue have known him.

And to realize he still genuinely saw him as a friend despite what happened? You were speechless.

But once the initial shock passed, you smiled back. "I'll be sure to tell him that if he lets me in. Wish me luck."

After giving him a hug goodbye (and insisting that he kept resting like his mother requested), you began the trek over to Blue's house, hoping he was still there.

When you arrived and knocked on the front door, it was Daisy who answered, surprised to see you standing there. "Oh hey, [y/n]."

"Hey, Dais...is Blue home?"

"Yeah. He's kinda in a mood, though. He hasn't come out of his room today. Not for breakfast or....anything." Frowning, she looked over her shoulder. "I've never seen him like this before...it's scaring me."

"And that's why I'm here. I think he'd feel better if he knew I wanted to come see him." You put one hand on the doorframe in case she thought about closing it on you. "Please."

"...okay." She allowed you inside. "I have to head to work. There's a Growlithe who needed some trimming..poor thing probably can't see with all the fur over its eyes."

"You go take care of that, I'll take care of Blue..thanks." Smiling, you headed in while she headed out the door, locking it behind her.

Finally alone, you exhaled a breath you didn't even know you were holding, before making your way up to Blue's bedroom. You just hoped he was somewhat feeling okay...although judging from Daisy's remarks, he was still far from that.

You prayed he wasn't doing anything harmful to himself or anyone. But you did have a Pokeball on your belt should you need to call out one of your companions just in case.

Hopefully, it didn't need to come to that and you can just talk.

After knocking on the door, there was only a few moments of silence before it swung open, revealing a very exhausted and disheveled-looking Blue. He was in sweatpants and his usual purple sweater, although his normally spiky hair was even more of a mess.

Any sort of light that was once in his eyes had died out long ago.

To put it bluntly, he looked like hell.

"Daisy, I said I'm not.....oh...." Even his voice lost that confidence and luster it once had, instead being quiet and hoarse, having not used it for days. "[Y/n]? What's up? Why are you here?" He frowned.

"To see you, dummy." Huffing, you leaned against the doorframe. "Wanted to make sure you were still alive."

"..well, I am. So you can go. Sorry I missed your calls-"

"Can I come in?"

"......"

"....please? Just for a few minutes?"

At this point, he was too tired to fight with you right now. So he allowed you into his room, which....didn't look any better than he did. You noticed were his curtains being drawn shut, and his pokeballs and gym badges scattered across the table.

The Blue you've grown up with had his room practically lit up like the sun and his badges neatly arranged in a glass box--just in case he had someone over and wanted to impress them with his triumphs.

Now? That version of him was seemingly dead and gone.

But you didn't stare for too long, not wanting him to think you were judging him for the mess. Instead you sat together on his bed, where he remained silent, staring down at the floor.

You finally cleared your throat, deciding to talk first. "Red and I have been worried about you...he-"

"That jerkward? Worried about me?" He snorted half-heartedly, looking up to see you frowning a bit. He sighed. "Sorry, go on."

"He was discharged today. Doctors said there's nothing they need to monitor, so..that's good, at least."

"Yeah..that is good."

You noted his rather dismissive attitude as you continued expressing your concerns for his well-being, along with how he shrugged off how his Pokémon were doing, if his grandfather ever stopped by to apologize (which he did, but it came much too late for him), and more.

He was sorta just repeating whatever you said and agreeing with it, hoping you'll leave and let him go back to moping.

Honestly he thinks you got better things to do than worry about him.

However, what you said next made something in his brain tick.

"Red wanted me to tell you that...he still thinks of you as a friend. I do, too."

All of the sudden, Blue's shoulders tensed and he stared directly at you.

Not with a tired half-lidded gaze like before, but with darkened brown eyes that seemed rather...angry.

"Don't even go there, [y/n].." He warned, voice dripping with Arbok venom.

"....go where?" You blinked in bewilderment at his abrupt attitude change.

Then again, you should have seen this quick coming from a mile away. He's always had a quick temper...although you were confused over why such a simple thing as reaffirming your friendship pissed him off.

"I know what you're doing..and I'm telling you right now that I don't need it."

"I....don't follow.."

"I don't need your goddamn pity." He snarled, fingers curling into the bedsheets beneath him. "Not yours, Red's, gramp's, or anybody's....so just go on and tell me how you REALLY feel."

"That is how we really feel, Blue." You did your best to stay calm, knowing he wasn't in the best headspace right now. Getting angry at him won't solve anything. "We're not saying that to pity you or anything...we genuinely-"

"You're lying. I bet Red thinks I'm a real sack of shit. I mean..how could he NOT?!! I almost killed him."

"Blue, that's-"

"And you, too, [y/n]!! I was LAUGHING in both of your faces! Swinging a fucking knife around!! How the hell do you not think of me as a monster to stay away from?!!"

"You're not a monster-"

"YES I AM!!" He was beginning to scream, putting a greater strain on his vocal cords. But he didn't seem to care. "You should've just told them all the truth! That what I tried to do was worse than ANYTHING Team Rocket ever did!! But no...you wanted to protect my sorry ass so I didn't get my feelings hurt."

"We both know that's not true at all. Blue..why can't you understand that-?"

"NO!! Why can't YOU understand that I don't fucking deserve you two as friends?!!! You should hate me, you should be happy that I'm not showing my face to anyone in this town! Because everyone here would be better off-!!"

You refused to let him even finish that statement, knowing he was going to regret it later. So you did the only thing you could do to shut him up.

And that was hug him, not saying another word.

Obviously, you didn't wanna crush him too much considering he felt like skin and bones at this point, but it was just enough for him to snap out of his tirade.

You just held him closely, hoping that he'd finally realize how serious you were about wanting to be here for him.

It took a few seconds for Blue to fully process what was happening right now, although before you could even consider letting him go...you heard a sniffle, followed by a quiet whimper.

He tried to silence those hints of weakness by pressing his face into your shoulder, but he ultimately failed and began sobbing, completely breaking down over everything that happened over the past month.

The incident and the isolation were already weighing heavily on him....and now he yelled at you for trying to be a caring friend.

He really didn't deserve you.

Not after all he's put you through.

"I-I'm sorry...I...I shouldn't have..d-done that.." His arms wrapped around you tightly. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.."

"It's alright, I know you didn't mean it." You soothed, rubbing a hand up and down his back. His cries became more gut-wrenching by the second, proving how badly he needed this right now. "You've been hurt, too...and we should have realized that from the start. From the moment Raticate passed, we should've been there for you more. And I'm sorry that we weren't."

"Y-You were there for me! You've always been there.." He choked out, squeezing you tighter. "I-I was being s-stupid...and selfish, and....and I hurt you both!"

"Red and I both forgive you, okay? Nothing's ever gonna change that."

"...r-really?"

"Yes...like it or not you're still our friend, Blue, and we'll never stop caring."

Both of you sat there for a little while longer, with you saying nothing but comforting things to Blue and keeping him close, while his sobs gradually softened as the seconds passed.

You let him cry for as long as he needed to, even if he ran himself dry. You should've done this much sooner, but now you're here and he knew you weren't abandoning him.

Eventually he calmed down enough to let you go, although his gaze went to his lap, embarrassment over his meltdown slowly creeping in.

You smiled a little, taking your hand off his back. "You feel any better?"

"...b-besides feeling like a total loser crybaby? Yeah." He kept sniffling, wiping his face clean of any remaining tears or snot before he looked back up at you. "I guess I really needed that...thanks, [y/n]."

"Of course, it's what friends do." You stood up, taking another look around the bedroom and sighing. "You know? I also think you need sunlight..it's like a damn Zubat cave in here. Let's take a walk."

Normally, he'd have some sort of snarky comeback. But he was too emotionally burnt out to make up anything, as he instead nodded silently and followed you out his bedroom.

Together you walked outside, taking in the crisp winter air.

Blue didn't realize how much he needed this until he took a few deeps breaths, gradually calming himself down even more. But when he began shivering a little, you took notice and dug your scarf out of your bag.

No way were you gonna allow him to catch a cold. Not after he's isolated himself for so long and was only now getting some fresh air.

You wrapped the scarf around him, smiling at the way he clutched it and dug his red nose into the fabric, mumbling a thanks.

All you did was nod in return, putting an arm around his shoulders as you both headed down the sidewalk together, not going anywhere in particular.

Fortunately there were very few people out on the streets, so nobody stopped to bother either of you.

Surviving whatever happened on Mt. Silver that day made you, him, and Red out to be some kind of "celebrities", especially with folks pondering what "mystery Pokémon" attacked the former champion, his rival, and you.

But none of them would ever know the real story.

They simply couldn't.

For it's a secret you three will take to your graves.

Yuji lays on a bed in the infirmary. You stand above him with your fingers pressed against his temples. When the medicine that Nurse Aurora provided didn’t work, as it was the same the other doctors administered, Nanami reluctantly gave you permission to enter Yuji’s mind.

Once inside, you can immediately tell that something is very wrong. Yuji’s mind is polluted with dark smoke with only sparse slivers of clarity. You walk through an ancient stone corridor with torches mounted along the walls. The deeper you venture the higher the temperature becomes. Your palms are damp and a thin sheen of sweat covers your forehead.

The end of the corridor leads to a set of large wooden doors. With great effort, you push them open. The room is long and dimly lit with evenly spaced fire pots leading to a seat constructed of skulls and various other bones. It’s surrounded by a moat of red liquid so dark it almost appears black. The makeshift throne is empty, but you can feel eyes on you. With every careful step forward the sinister aura of the room completely envelops you.

“I know you’re here,” you declare into the room. “Why don’t you show yourself?”

A heavy presence suddenly manifests behind you. Your spine straightens and your heart pounds faster in your chest when a sweltering breath fans at the back of your neck.

“You’d simply die of fright, little girl,” says a deep voice.

You can’t fight the shudder down your spine, but you mange to retort, “I’m not a little girl.”

“You say you aren’t, yet you treat yourself like one. Why do you not embrace your full potential?”

“You don’t know anything about me.”

“On the contrary, I’ve heard so much about you.” You can hear the way his mouth curves in amusement. It bites at your ego. “The legendary psychic foretold to be the shield of this realm. Who would have thought the one meant to protect these pathetic mortals would be the one to set me free?”

“I’ve done no such thing,” you defend.

“You already have. Your very presence in my domain has already set in motion the undoing of my prison. I thank you, little girl.”

A light scrape of a fingernail against the skin of your neck makes you jerk forward. You turn, but there’s no one there. You frown. He’s toying with you.

“What do you want with Yuji?”

“The boy comes from a long line of intentional breeding,” he explains, voice once again behind you. But when you turn around, again, he’s nowhere to be found. “His body was specifically designed to be a vessel capable of housing a powerful entity. Much like yours.”

“And he’s your vessel?”

“Precisely. His body will soon acclimate to my presence and his fever will subside. Then, I will challenge you once I have control of this body.”

“I won’t let you take him,” you vow.

“I look forward to seeing you try.” His breath is at your neck again. The rumble of his teasing laughter vibrates against your back. Turning your head, you gasp at the sight of his face, decorated with black markings and two sets of sinister crimson eyes. “Now, off you go.”

You’re abruptly thrust back into your physical form. Back in the infirmary, your legs falter and Nanami catches you before you can topple over.

“What happened?” Nanami asks.

You don’t realize you’re noticeably shaking until Nanami pulls your gaze away from Yuji, bringing you into his full embrace. You bury your face in his chest as dread sinks deep within you.

Glitchy red x dead reader [Just a Glitch]

No one’s pov..

When you first played that Pokémon game you met a sentient Glitch in the code who was annoyed with you. But you didn’t care you played everyday and talked too him everyday and tried to be his friend but never could work but you kept trying and you hanged out with him everyday…

One day Glitchy Red noticed you not playing the game…he waited for you. Waited. Waited…but nothing for months.., he gets fed up with it and he broke the code and was able to break free- But he sees no one in the room…but he noticed something and it was your phone.. he glitched and got in it checking everything till he comes across someone’s text…

“Hey i know Your gone but…I

Miss you…, I would watch you for hours play on that Gameboy and you wouldn’t be sad…you kept talking too someone…I didn’t know who…I miss you friend…last thing I can do is take the Gameboy and put it in your casket before your buried tomorrow, Whoever reads this tho…, Make sure you know who they once were..”

“There dead…..?” Glitchy says and stares at your phone “…..was I….? Or were I?…..that bad too them…” he said and was just angry for many many years…you only wanted too be his friend you weren’t tormenting him but how did you die? Natural? Murdered? Su- he stops and puts the phone down and looks around the room…YOUR room.. something stuck out it was your Book, he picked it up and read it but something caught his eye..

“I met someone from my Gameboy, he told me his name and I was curious about him..tried too chat with him while playing the game…he hates it I know it but there’s something about him.

I can’t get him off my mind, I wanna know him more I wanna talk too him more..

I’ll keep trying until I see him smile at least then try too befriend this Character who is sentient.”

“Weeks past and I’m getting more sicker..the doctors won’t help they can’t…I was promised I could be helped but they can’t help me…what can I do? I’m hopeless…but that’s not gonna stop me till I at least get a smile from Glitchy red!”

“It didn’t work….he hates me.., I don’t think I can continue my body is hurting…maybe if I sleep it off I’ll feel better? Hopefully, I hope one day I can help Glitchy red..he deserves better then be stuck in some code…,”

Sure. I hope you’re alright with making the reader have a shiny Rillaboom as their partner Pokémon and a talking Meowth.

The Flu

Raihan x Sick! Fem! Reader

You were starting to feel unwell towards the middle of the day. It started with a headache, then a sore throat, and once you and Rillaboom got home was when the body aches hit. Rillaboom caught you as you started stumbling. She took to your bedroom and laid you down on the bed. It was around 6pm when Rahain came home and he was concerned when you did not greet him at the door. He walked into the bedroom and saw you laying there looking very ill with Rillaboom sitting by your side.

"Hello, sweetheart. Would you like me to get you anything?"

You look at him and your face was looking slightly more pale than normal and your nose was red.

“Could you please get me some water and a cough drop?”

He looks at you softly and nods as he leaves. You sit up and Rillaboom reposition your pillows so that you’re more comfortable. Around five minutes later Raihan came back and handed you your water and cough drop. You drank as much water as your body would allow and put the cough drop in your mouth.

“Have you had anything for dinner yet?”

You shake your head no.

“Would you like some soup? I’ll also make you some lemongrass tea as well. Clover would you like to help me?”

Clover looks at him then at you and you smiled weakly at her letting her know that you’d be alright. She moves your hair/gently pats your head before she leaves with Raihan. It takes about an hour for them to come back with the soup and lemongrass tea.

“Clover you can go rest. I’ll look after her while you sleep.”

Clover gently hugs you good night and goes to her room and sleeps. Raihan starts feeding you the soup and makes sure that you drink the tea.

“Thank you, Raihan.”

“You’re welcome. Tomorrow I’ll take you to the doctors and I’ll take off of work for as long as I need to. Just so that Clover doesn’t get overwhelmed and overworked.”

You nod and smile at him knowing that there was no use in arguing with him.

~The next day~

You were diagnosed with a severe case of the flu. It won’t kill you, but Raihan has to wear special protective equipment when he’s in your room. It won’t infect Clover but she does sleep outside your bedroom door. The doctor estimated that it would probably take a month until your body gets rid of the virus. The other gym leaders understood the situation. Bea and Gordie decided to take turns running Raihans gym while he takes care of you.

~A month later~

Your body finally got rid of the virus. Raihan is currently disinfecting everything in your room for the final time today.

“Raihan, you know that you can go back to work, right?”

He sighs and looks at you and Clover laying in bed.

“I know. I’ll let Leon, Bea, and Gordie know that I’m willing to return to work next week.”

You close the book that you and Clover were reading.

“Why? My body is healthy now.”

“But what if you need me? I can’t stand to think that my Blossom would need me and I’m not here because I’m at work.”

You smile at the nickname. You get up, walk over to him and cup his face with your hands.

“Raihan. My Dragon King. I’ll be alright. I’ll have Clover. If I need to call anyone and I don’t have my phone and I can’t get to the house phone I’ll have Sterling (Meowth) make the call.”

He smiles warmly at you and kisses your lips. Clover ends up finishing disinfecting everything since you and Raihan ended up on the bed and fell asleep cuddling.

~Epilogue~

When Raihan went back to work Bea and Gordie were relieved. Bea runs up to Raihan and hugs him.

“Thank goodness you’re back. There were fans who were pissed that you weren’t here.”

Bea releases Raihan from her bone crushing hug. Raihan looks at Gordie.

“A few of them ended up making me cry. I honestly hate admitting that.”

Summary: Kai can’t be with you anymore, those chances had long passed, but can he see you and read those letters you send him?

Dear Kai,

I’m not sure if you still look down on me, I haven’t felt your presence in so long, it’s been a bit lonely without you here. The house feels empty now, and it’s not like you ever left your room anyway. You stayed burrowed up in there, so I’d have to come join you if I wanted attention. I hope you knew I loved you, it’s too late to tell you now.

I regret it, not telling you whilst you were here, but I’m sure you already knew. The way you’d text me and tell me to come to your room, only for it to be lit up with fairy lights, a fort made in the middle and once we entered the cosiest bed for us to watch movies on. You brought all my favourite snacks, you let me pick the movies, I think you even tried to hold my hand. I’m sorry I got nervous and pulled away, I should’ve just let you hold it whilst you could. Was that a date? To me it was…

I have a new confession now Kai. I haven’t felt this way in such a long time. I did get better since you left, I promise. I’m not sick anymore, but, today I feel it. I feel the way it used to feel.

I don’t feel excited, suddenly everything I’ve ever loved feels bland. As if I took a picture and put a horribly monochrome filter on. My hobbies, are a dull grey, no longer a sparking silver. It doesn’t light up my days, nor does it make me feel like I’m living.

My voice can’t even raise in tone, I’ve tried, it just stays at a continuous monotone. No more inflections as I get excited, no more shouting as I get angry, no, I’m not even sure I felt anything but bland today. Even my emotions are mono, is this even real right now? My face doesn’t lift in a smile, doesn’t frown with disappointment, I have held a straight face for longer than I’d like. I wish you were here to make me smile… you’d probably make that dumb Pokémon noise you always replicated, I’d always whine but you knew I loved it, that’s why it always came flying out of your mouth the second I had a bad day.

Isn’t it weird that people are alive. Like, I’m living my life and you aren’t, you were stolen from me, ripped away too soon, it’s just not fair. Don’t you think? Sometimes I wish it had been the other way around, but I know that’s not possible.

I’ve been better for awhile, I’ve taken care of myself, even tried to go further than just being alive, I tried to LIVE, but I’m not great at that. Ever since i made that mistake at work, my life has consumed me, everything felt overwhelming. Like I was drowning in all the endless pain I left behind me. It came back for me when I least expected it. Can you protect me from it Kai? Can you be my angel?

Who am I kidding… I don’t want you to spend your afterlife worrying about me as well, do what you want to do, live the best you can up there. I’d cry if you thought about me the way I thought about you. In fact, I hope you forgot about me, it would hurt, but I could take it if I knew you were happy.

I used to say that health was a lie… that’s because i get sick with a click of my fingers. Now I mean that both mentally and physically. Our friends must think I chuck myself down the stairs each morning with how much physical pain I come to school with.

“What’s wrong today?”

How did they know I was in pain? Oh yes, that’s right, I’m always in pain. Can I catch a break please…

“I have a terrible pain in my stomach”

Do you remember that I actually had that pain for months and it got so bad sometimes that I missed days and days of school. You took me to the doctors because I hate them, they took my blood, but there was nothing wrong with me that they could find. So I was on medication for awhile, but it didn’t help so I got taken off it. The pain comes back sometimes. The worst bit is when my lecturers ask why I wasn’t in, and I have to explain it’s been the same pain since last month. They must think I’m a liar, I see it in their eyes. You told me I was being dramatic, but I know I wasn’t…

But when you fell sick I suddenly realised that anything I went through was just a silly bug, a little thing that would go away. You… you were suffering, true pain, true agony. I wish I could’ve done something, even ease your pain, but I couldn’t. You wouldn’t even let me stay in the hospital with you like I had wanted to. You told me “Go home, keep it warm so when I get back I won’t be cold”. You died that evening, when I was making your bed, trying to convince myself you’d be home soon. It was a lie I told myself, I knew you wouldn’t be coming home, but I didn’t think it would be so soon.

Do you know what it’s like to have your heart ripped from your chest? I imagine you felt a similar pain as your life was coming to an end, that’s how I felt when the nurse called me. She had plunged her hand into my heart and tugged it out with ease, as if my heart knew it was about to be crushed. I wish you were here to make that stupid noise once again… maybe then I’d stop feeling sick, but you aren’t.

I promise this feeling won’t continue, I’ll stay strong Kai, I know you’d want me to. I’ll even go on a walk tomorrow, and try walk it off. You always told me I should get out more. But you aren’t one to talk are you….

Perhaps I should stop sending you these letters, but how can I… when I can’t let go of you. The second I stop, is the second you truly die, because you’ll be a forgotten star, and you could never be that to me.

~"How is [x] character a fashion disaster? I like their look/ they're iconic/ they look alright/ etc. etc." First of all, this is a very lighthearted competition that doesn't mean to be negative or judgmental! A Fashion Disaster can sometimes be (affectionate): in some cases there's nothing more iconic than a bit of this pizazz. I like quite a few of the looks on this list (and sometimes dress much worse) but if they have been included, this means that either: 1) they have been nominated multiple times 2) they have been nominated at least once and whoever nominated them provided a very convincing or funny explanation of why they were a Fashion Disaster (for example by pointing out one particularly bad outfit - not necessarily their main outfit!) 3) they have been nominated at least once and upon looking them up, I noticed that they tick many of the boxes that were described repeatedly in other people's explanations of what they consider disastrous: e.g. clashing patterns, excessive accessories, crocs, bad haircuts, etc. etc. In any case, every poll will come with a brief explanation of why people have been nominating a certain character! To make sure that people vote informed ❤️ ~"Why are you randomizing matchups instead of seeding?" I totally see the value of seeding for most competitions, but this one here is largely unpredictable - a lot of characters got the same amount of nominations, and how Disastrous they are is entirely subjective. The competition is also quite visual-based - it's about looks rather than knowing a character, so it's more likely that people will vote for an unknown character than in other competitions, which risk becoming popularity polls quite quickly. Basically: I'd simply have no idea how to determine the ranking of most contestants here for proper seeding! That's why I opt for randomized matches - but I did make sure to put the two most nominated characters on the opposing sides of the bracket. ~"Why is [x] character not included?" There was a total of 174 unique characters nominated to this tournament! If the one you were rooting for did not make it, I'm sorry! One or more of the following was likely the cause: 1) they have not been nominated more than once 2) they have not ticked as many boxes for what other people considered disastrous as some other characters with a single nomination did 3) a lot of characters have been submitted from the same source. Professor Willow, the man who had single handedly rescued you from your neglectful parents, and raised you as his own for the past few years, stood in front of you, and you were struggling to tell him the one thing you needed the most.

"C'mon, (Name), please just tell me." He was whispering at this point. He was holding on to your hand, keeping the scissors far away from your head.

Hop had long since hung up at this point, leaving your phone silent and useless.

You slowly broke down into tears, and Willow pulled you into a strong embrace.

"There are so many things I want to say, but I don't know where to start," you began. "Everything feels so wrong, I'm barely able to sleep anymore, all of my, well, everything is just hurting all the time, and I feel like I don't fit in this body, like I'm supposed to be a man." You sobbed, and the professor held you tighter.

"You shouldn't have to deal with all of this alone, why didn't you tell me sooner?"

You just shrugged.

"Well, I'll help you as best I can, and we will see a doctor about your pain. You don't have to be afraid anymore, you are my child, my son."

Woo! I managed day 2.

Four Ships:

Oh boy. TBH I'm not that into shipping really. I guess I have a few though.

Brainy x Nia (CW Supergirl): Definitely the beta couple of the last couple seasons of the show. I do kinda wonder how their relationship would've developed had Season 5 played out as planned (the ending of the season got kinda messed up due to COVID lockdowns, which is why the "beat Leviathan" plot got carried over to the beginning of Season 6). They got a fair amount of focus in Season 6, as they dealt with how Brainy's actions in Season 5 affected them (also they had to write Kara out for most of the season because her actress was on maternity leave, forcing them to instead focus episodes on the rest of Supergirl's team). I felt it was a strong ship, with two goofy, geeky people - one an alien genius who's not very used to having emotions period and the other a half-human, half-alien girl with dream-related powers - who both clearly like each other but don't know how to spit it out. The "Prom!" two-parter, where they go back in time to get DNA to help track down Kara, had them try to fit in in late-90s small town America, which was hilarious. Also, in general, even with all the hype over Nia being the first transgender superhero ever (she's also played by a real-life trans rights hero, Nicole Maines), aside from a little focus when she was first introduced, they haven't made it her sole defining trait, and have developed her beyond that, which I appreciate. I'm not sure their relationship had its full time to develop - towards the end it seemed doomed to fail since at some point Brainy was going to have to go back to the future time he came from. But in the finale he decided to "screw destiny" and came back for her, so they still have a chance!

Pokéshipping (Ash x Misty): From Pokémon, obviously. This is Pokémon's oldest ship and I have stood by it for years (to be fair, I haven't seen enough of the anime to justify the other Ash ships anyway). But then I'm biased, since Misty has long been a favorite character of mine from Pokémon. It's been cool seeing her come back in more recent seasons and still have a dynamic with Ash. It started with him accidentally frying her bike with Pikachu, and her tagging along to make him pay her back, but they ultimately developed a strong friendship, which I think is only rivaled by his friendship with Dawn probably. Of course, since I ship them, I wish there could be more - and there are songs showing Misty has feelings for him ("Misty's Song," "He Drives Me Crazy," "I've Got a Secret" from Pokémon Live). The second movie also teased the idea, though Misty strongly denied it. As for Ash, we have no idea how he feels. But let's be fair, he barely acknowledged Serena's feelings, and hers as far as I can tell were WAY more obvious than Misty's (Serena pretty much started traveling with Ash cause she had a crush on him). So I'm guessing he's just completely oblivious. He'd have to grow up a lot to realize how Misty feels. And now Ash's time in the anime is basically over. Though, they did leave things pretty open-ended with him, so...

Yowzah (Doctor x River Song): This is basically my main ship from Doctor Who (though I do also support Tenrose). For this ship, I usually define it as Eleven x River specifically, since they interact the most. Though their relationship is crazy complicated, their banter is always fun to see when they do meet. Because I didn't watch Doctor Who quite in order when catching up on old seasons, I actually saw their romance in basically chronological order - starting with Series 5-7 and ending with 4, where Ten meets her but she ends up dying - which somehow made it even more poignant. I did appreciate that before Steven Moffat left, he resolved their whole thing by having Twelve finally take River to Darillium (the last place River saw "her" Doctor before traveling to the Library and meeting Ten), and having Twelve come to terms with her being gone. While there are still Big Finish audios coming out to flesh out River's personal canon, I consider her timeline with The Doctor finished, and I don't expect her to show up again (although, they brought back Jack Harkness, so I guess no one's safe). I don't feel like there's any sort of future they could give them - "The Name of the Doctor" already showed River post-death. I suppose they could delve into their past still, especially if they keep the Timeless Child plotline when Russell T. Davies takes over again. I'd kinda love for River to meet the Fugitive Doctor. I feel like they would be BFFs in a heartbeat. At any rate, River is a fun character, and for now I've been indulging my interest in this ship via the Eleventh Doctor fanfic I've been working on for years (I have an idea for a ship fic with them too).

Mamoru x Hina (PGSM): So not sure this is even a ship but decided to add it anyway. When it comes to Sailor Moon, I'm typically in the Usagi x Mamoru camp pretty strongly. Especially in the manga, where their relationship really gets some deep development (it gets development in the anime too, but not in the same way I feel like). But the live-action series Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon just didn't do their relationship justice. I get that they had limited episodes to work with, but they could've done better. They also tried to make things more dramatic by revealing Mamoru was engaged, right at the point of the show when Usagi was starting to think maybe he wasn't so bad after all. And then try to twist the knife even more by making Usagi realize that "OMG this guy's girlfriend is actually NICE." Hina, meanwhile, didn't get much development beyond being the "other woman" who clearly loved Mamoru more than he did her. That she was the "childhood friend" in this scenario probably didn't help either (anyone who's watched/read enough shoujo knows that the "childhood friend" rarely wins in a love triangle). She did at least respect that Mamoru had a lost past he was trying to find clues to, and tried to be supportive as much as she could. And when Mamoru got cut off from a call with her when Kunzite attacked him, she seemed genuinely upset. (She also got upset when she found Usagi's handkerchief in Mamoru's dresser, but that's more like a "OMG are you cheating on me?" kind of upset). Ultimately she saw the writing on the wall and broke up with Mamoru. I mean, sure, if the show was going to follow the original Sailor Moon plot, Mamoru and Usagi were going to have to end up together somehow. But instead of trying to create a genuine love triangle with actual drama attached, they had Mamoru in a relationship he didn't really care about and Usagi, as much as it pained her, willing to honor that relationship. Thus they started to kinda reluctantly become just friends instead. But while it can be argued they did develop some feelings for each other eventually, their whole romance seems to be based on the fact that they loved each other in their past lives, and fate is doing its darnedest to bring them together again. Except that in the past that caused the destruction of the Earth, a fact that initially no one remembers except Sailor Venus, Zoisite, and Kunzite, which is why those three are pretty strongly against Usagi and Mamoru getting together (Beryl also tries to split them up later, either personally or through her "shadow" Mio, since the Beryl/Serenity/Endymion love triangle is also still a thing). Then they get separated since Mamoru goes to study abroad in England, and then later lets Beryl capture him to save the Shitennou, causing all this angst where Usagi tries really hard not to make the Silver Crystal activate, as this would not only make her hardcore "I don't care about anything but my prince" Princess Sailor Moon side come out, but it also inadvertently powers Queen Metallia, neither of which is good for the safety of the Earth. Even once Beryl is defeated and Usagi and Mamoru are *finally* set to get married, it's clear Mamoru is not that enthusiastic about it, which is what leads to Usagi breaking things off and Mio showing up and being like "I'M BAAACK" and kidnapping Mamoru to be her groom in her circus-inspired base. So...anyway, it's just hard for me to ship Usagi x Mamoru in PGSM for these reasons, so I lean more toward shipping Hina with Mamoru. After all, the short "Hina Afterward" made it clear that she still thought about him after they broke up.

Last Song: Not a song per se, but...the Suzume soundtrack on Spotify. It's actually quite a good soundtrack. Sadly, they didn't include the songs Serizawa plays in his car during the road trip part of the movie (probably for copyright reasons), but I found a couple Spotify playlists people made of the songs he plays: this one and this one. One of them is "Rouge no Dengon," the opening song to Kiki's Delivery Service, which I recognized immediately when I first heard it as that's my favorite Ghibli film.

Currently Reading: This translation of Virgil's The Aeneid, translated by David Ferry. It was the one recommended by Blue of the YouTube channel Overly Sarcastic Productions in his Virgil video, so I figured it had to be good. Now, being a mythology buff, I knew something about the Aeneid going into this (I also watched OSP's video covering it), but I'd never read it in verse before now. And it is actually quite good. Sure there are boring lists of people at times, and Virgil spends like 10 stanzas describing the decorations on Aeneas's shield in great detail, which I could care less about. While I definitely had to consult the list of names in the back a few times to know what stuff was, the text was otherwise quite understandable as is, which isn't easy with old texts like this as far as I can tell. Ferry does a good job making it readable but not TOO modern. Would recommend.

Last Movie: The anime movie Suzume, directed by Makoto Shinkai, who did Your Name and Weathering With You. As I mentioned in this post, it's REALLY GOOD.

Craving: I'm looking forward to the game Hogwarts Legacy. The Switch version got delayed till July and it bugs me a lot. Also, this game called Sea of Stars is finally coming out soon that I backed on Kickstarter. I've never backed a video game on there before, so that's exciting! Besides that...I bought a TON of 3DS and DS games in my pursuit to get the games I wanted before the 3DS eShop shut down a couple months ago, so looking forward to those. In the process, I found out my DS Lite can still read GBA cartridges, allowing me to replay old favorites like Kim Possible 2: Draaken's Demise and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon as well as games I missed (like all of the Gen 3 Pokémon games - if I can track them down - and Tales of Phantasia, which I just recently found out even HAD a GBA version).

As for non-gaming things...I haven't been to Disneyland in years, despite living less than 2 hours away from it. Sure, as an autistic person, theme parks can be kind of a nightmare, but I really love Disney movies. Also, I haven't been there since before the Star Wars land was completed, so I really want to go there and see that, as I'm also a big Star Wars fan.

Also I do miss doing covers on my YouTube channel, I'll admit. I'd also like to do more collabs, but the SeraMyu cover community seems kinda dead now, especially since our sort of Fearless Leader (and the one who encouraged me to join in the first place) @sailorzakuro seems to have moved on.

One thing I’ve noticed about a lot of my ships is that if they’re straight, the characters tend to have a lot in common but if they’re gay, it tends to be a case of opposites attract. It’s not a perfect pattern, one of my gay ships for bounty hunter Captain Falcon pairs him with Snake from Metal Gear (I don’t know much about Metal Gear but I’m under the assumption that they have relatively similar jobs and personalities) and I ship Rose and Clara from Doctor Who because they have a surprising amount of similarities, but I want to go over some of the ones that do count:

• Falcon x Dr. Stewart: gay, dynamic can be summed up as fighterxdoctor

• Falcon x Samus: straight, both bounty hunters from Nintendo franchises with little love from Nintendo

• Samus x Peach: lesbian, literally a case of woman whose whole thing is a superior fighting ability and breaking gender stereotypes x princess who gets kidnapped at least three times a week

• Milo x Nessa: straight, gym leaders from Galar with a rivalry

• Nessa x Bea: lesbian, famous model x martial artist (it’s harder to emphasise the differences here due to them both being stoic, competitive gym leaders but I’m still counting them)

• Princia Ramode x Lily Flyer: lesbian, bored princess x fighter who doesn’t know any other way of life

• Jody Summer x Kate Alen: lesbian, basically the police x former singer who basically quit in favour of the Grand Prix

• Calem x Serena: straight, protagonists of X and Y as well as rivals if not chosen. The player and the main rival are considered the two strongest fighters in the friendship group

• Adaman x Irida: straight, leaders of rival clans who love the Eeveelutions

• Misty x Erika: lesbian, tomboy x airhead

• Megan x Audie (and by extension, any normal peppy duo): lesbian, basically the above but with a heavier focus on hyper for the peppies than tomboy

• Mewtwo x Lucario: technically other because Mewtwo is genderless but they are technically different genders to each other, Pokémon with more “mystical” powers as well as having a lot of similarities (idk I’m not gonna list them here)

• Not character-specific but I’m gonna mention Delphox x Meowscarada: not officially straight, gay or lesbian but both look traditionally feminine and are seven times more likely to be male than female so it basically counts as a gay ship, magical witch who turned witch hunting against the witch hunters x physical stage magician

• Wednesday x Enid: lesbian, literally everyone’s favourite gay trope (I’m not talking about roommates I’m talking about the goth x prep contrast)

• Natsuki x Yuri: lesbian, “tsundere” x “yandere”

• Madoka Kaname x Homura Akemi: lesbian, basically prep x goth

- one (1) email and one (1) phone number that I don't have to change every few years due to stalkers

- a group chat

- a hobby from childhood that I actually got good at, made friends through, and reminded other people of me when they came across something related in their day-to-day life

- some sort of heritage/tradition that was passed down to me so I could find others who had it passed on to them and have a sense of connection with that

- a church community I grew up in and am familiar with the people there

- a car that may be barely-functioning but it's mine

- an obviously diagnosable and treatable physical medical condition that I can go to the same doctor/hospital for on a regular basis, and pick meds up on my way home. instead of "idk why you're cramping have you tried birth control."

- those stupid consumerist little membership cards for like target and cvs just to have that signifier that I do in fact have one (1) email/phone number and that I can regularly and easily and safely go to the same stores

- little set ups for hobbies. like a cute matching gym gear bag / a cozy gaming set up.

- a wardrobe full of clothes that I actually like

- a room/apartment/house with plants/books/photos/candles/records/whatever little things that just make it very obvious that "yes this is her home because these are very much things that would belong to her"

- a person/people who would come over and who would recognize what things would very much belong to me

- opportunities to go on little adventures like restaurants or movies or shopping or concerts or something that's just fun for a day

- vacations however normal people do vacations

- a person/few people who talk to me and would ask if I'm okay after not hearing from me for a few days

- mutuals and a small discord channel of friends who talk on the reg in the most Internet Friend style, who also would check in after not hearing from me for a few days

- a very small friend group to have little birthday celebrations with

- chance to go to real-in-person college and maybe make friends and get to walk around a real physical campus and study in the library or whatever

- a happy family to go home to for holidays

- pictures of things like middle school soccer team or eighteenth birthday party or prom or graduation or engagement or whatever. those little life events that everybody seems to get.

- an old (1) Google account so I can have my information stolen I mean so I can just connect my social medias and sync up my data to a new phone or whatever and know that I can do so safely and not be blackmailed or stalked because of it

- exactly one (1) designated hardship to carry through life that is a normal hardship and that could easily be addressed in therapy and I could easily find support groups about it online or something. like "my mom died" or "I have clinical depression" or "I have heart problems" or "my friend committed suicide." just one (1) assigned normal hardship, instead of a long chain of obscure tragedies. possibly even two (2) I'm willing to negotiate.

- a job that I've worked at since adolescence that I'm good at and my team is familiar with me and i with them and it's just a part of my day that feels productive and normal and welcome and I feel just as safe there as I do at home or at school or with my friends or with my partner or at any of these places that I don't actually have

- normal life
