I'm really intrigued, I know you like the sumeru squad, but my favourite dynamic among them is actually Alhaitham and Cyno! I wanted to know what you think of them!!

I think they're very similar sometimes, but Alhaitham is introverted and his jokes are hard to distinguish (because he's too smart for anyone to understand that he's not /srs hahaha) and Cyno is extraverted but his jokes are just awful, BUT I think they like each other's jokes a lot, and I think they encourage each others' theatrical/playful sides. I also think they'd both enjoy going to watch performances together since Alhaitham and Nilou became friends after that event before, and we all know Cyno likes to watch.

I also think Alhaitham probably enjoys playing Genius Invocation with him, since he evidently really values passionate people. He'd let Cyno infodump like crazy about his new cards and how he feels about new rules, and even though he'd make "oh woooow that's so interestiiiing" sarcastic comments, he'd sit still and keep the information. And Cyno knows he's like this, so he's happy to go on, but he'll start being like "if you don't want to listen to someone talking, you could go do your job" and they'd both be like "lol :)"

He also really respects and trusts Cyno canonically (for example his story quest relied on Cyno understanding his secret messages, and once he got there, Alhaitham immediately stepped back to let him work) which I think is a huge deal for him, since most of the time he wants to be at the center of things so he can keep the situation under control. Luckily with Cyno he knows he can leave trouble in trustworthy hands.

They're both just the type of person to be straightforward and say exactly what they think, and although they've definitely butted heads because of it before, I think they would really treasure that honesty in their friendship. I think they'd really enjoy each other as friends.

Anyway it's a shame that they're both so misunderstood by the fandom, I feel like their friendship gets ignored because people think Alhaitham is a cruel person, and people seem to forget Cyno exists if he's not being shipped with someone 🥲 they're two of my favourite characters and I love them so much 😭

Every single night since the savannah field trip was like hell, Roman eating creatures trying to kill the 8 of you, running like your life depends on it, being scared to go to bed at night, not being able to tell anyone.

And now to make it even worse.. you just watched the side of your best friends stomach get scratched open.

"H-how bad is it.." Logan chocked out though sobs, while everyone just looked at it "why aren't you guys saying anything?! It's bad isn't it, it hurts I'm scared!" He said in obvious panic.

You walked over to him sitting down in front of him "no, you're good bro." You spoke calmly smiling, lying to his face.. even though on the inside you were also freaking out. You took your hand cupping his cheek, and wiped his tears away.

He was still crying, like a lot but he was definitely calming down. "Ashlyn, can you pass me the pain medicine?" You said, still trying to keep your composure.

"Mhm, here.." he said passing you one of the pills, you took it out of your hand offering it to Logan "here, take this it should make it hurt less..."

Logan didn't say anything, he just nodded his head and swallowed the pill..

You laughed, giving you the look.. you both knew what you were talking about. Everyone around you two looked very confused.. aiden even started asking questions that you both could never answer.

You kept talking to him as Ben patched him up, it was definitely helping him calm down.. you grabbed his hand when ben was about to disinfect the wound. Logan death gripped your hand biting his lip. You just smiled and kept bringing up stupid stuff the two of you have done.

It was probably obvious to everyone but Logan that you liked him, Taylor asked you about it before, You tried denying it but it was obvious

You were the only person in the world that would sit and listen to his 10 hour rants about astrology, the only person in the world that stands up for him constantly, you wanted to be the only person in the world that liked him. It was painful to see him hanging out with Taylor, of course you knew Taylor wouldn't ever do something like that to you. But you couldn't help but think he would end up liking her she was smart, funny, positive, and so so pretty. You never knew when the right time to tell him was, or if he even liked you like that.. but for now its best for everyone if you just stay friends.. you wouldn't wanna go messing everything up, and you definitely don't want Logan to feel awkward around you.

You and aiden were the definition of polar opposites, he was a thrill seeker, dare I say crazy.

You were carful, and a lot more prone to freaking out in situations like this.

"A-Ashlyn what was that... it looked like the thing we saw at the weed house..!" you said, panic and fear present in your voice. You had just left you, and your friends shared room. "A-and where is {friends name}?!" You started to cry, wanting to turn back and go get her.

"She wasn't in the room with you?" Taylor gasped, more than a little freaked out. You shook your head no, Ashlyn stayed quiet leading the two of you out of the room.

"Taylor!" You heard a relieved voice, that had to belong to Tyler yell.

"Ty!?" She said in what sounded like disbelief.

"Oh so it was you guys, why are you running? And why are you crying y/n?" Aiden teased with his usual smile on his face.

"The thing from the serrel weed house.. it was in Ashlyn and Taylor's room.." you breathed out, still terrified.

"What's going on!?" Tyler asked, hugging his sister.

You looked at it wide eyed, still trying to put some sort of reason, or logic behind this all, tuning out everyone. You were pulled out of your thoughts by Aiden grabbing your hand and pulling you out of the room. You all got out safely, making sure to slam the door shut.

"W-what was that thing.." Logan stuttered out, shaking with fear..

"According to Tyler, that would be the "prank" from earlier today." Aiden said, in a very condescending tone. "You know what I find kinda weird,, no one's even come out of their rooms even after all the screaming and banging." The door knob wiggled, thankfully Ben grabbed it before the thing could get out

"That could've been bad!" Aiden smiled, and laughed

"Could've?!?" Tyler spoke angrily, looking at Aiden like he was crazy. You still haven't said anything, you just kept staring at the door still gripping Aidens hand. completely disconnecting from everybody.

"STOP TAKING THIS AS A JOKE, ITS BEEN BAD! THE SKY IS RED FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!" Tyler angrily yelled Trying to knock some sense into aiden, they kept bickering only to have it interrupted by Taylor's quiet voice

"G-guys.." she paused almost in fear "look down.." everybody but you looked down, you did not want any part of this anymore. "Out of sight out of mind" you kept repeating in your head

"How far away is your room?" Ashlyn asked Aiden

"5, or 6 doors down.." he said almost nervously, well you could tell he was nervous. The grip he had on your hand tightened.

You quickly pulled it out handing it to her.

"Y/n.. are you okay, your face is really pale.." Ashlyn said with concern examining your face..

She told everybody to go, you were still paralyzed with fear, and the person who was dragging you alone let go of your hand tying the rope to a pole.

Ben let go of the door so the others started booking it, Aiden yet again grabbed you and yanked you along with them. You were struggling to keep up with everyone, maybe due to the fact you're fairly unathletic. You were already panting and gasping for air by the time the thing was right behind you. Turing your head fast enough to get whiplash you saw it reach out for you, Aiden tugged you forward causing it to only rip the back of your shirt. Ashlyn crashed the cleaning cart into it, slamming it against the wall.Ben gave you a look of concern, like he was asking if you were okay. You nodded your head sorta understanding what he meant.

"Y'know.." Aiden said letting go of your hand and grabbing a bottle of bleach "this could be pretty fun!" He laughed looking like an absolute crazy man, he sprayed the bleach in the creatures eyes.. the side of its face started to melt and its mouth unhinged, as if it was supposed to be screaming but none of you could hear anything.. well except Ashlyn, by the why she was plugging her ears.

I’m really struggling right now

My relationship with my parents has taken a bad turn, and I don’t think I know it

My brother has ADHD and me and my friend have been talking abt me possibly being autistic for a while now, after a combination of things, and I’ve just been noticing a lot of things and I’ve realised that I can’t possibly be neurotypical and a lot of people have been noticing it

But my parents - particularly my dad - keep making the ‘oh you’re just autistic joke’ since most of my extended family are adhd. And then my brother jumps in yelling SHES AUTISTIC GET A TEST and then they say oh no you’re not autistic you just have autistic tendencies. like bro what does that even mean

So that’s just been really confusing, they also made a ‘joke’ about me being a psychopath. And they say that I’m a horrible person a lot just because of random things I say when I actually care about things a lot I’m just bad at filtering and they get quite angry when I react to things and make fun of me a lot and honestly I’m just tired of it all. It doesn’t help, especially when I’ve been noticing all these things which is making day to day interaction so much harder and it’s getting to the point where I just don’t want to hang out with people anymore because I’m constantly worried I’m gonna say something wrong and then not know what to do about it.

I can’t talk to them about it the only person I talk to is my best friend and there’s nothing he can really do. The thing that really irritates me is how quick they are to diagnose people with adhd/autism but they refuse to see the symptoms in their own daughter. like they clearly know it’s there, since they make the jokes, but they’re just refusing to even consider it and it’s making my life so stressful

Part of me wants to get an assessment but they can take a really long time and if it turns out I’m not actually autistic then I’m just going to be even more confused and constantly wondering what’s wrong with me and I just don’t know how to deal with it anymore. Whenever I’m alone I just want to break down

About the family thing. I hate it families do that. I hate it when they rationalize or trivialize mental/physical health issues. These are real problems and they need real solutions. Please know that you don't need an official diagnosis for your family/parents to treat you with empathy and respect. That's just basic decency. If you can talk to them about it, at least mention that their jokes are hurting your feelings. I once did that with my mom. It helped with the situation a little.

I would also suggest that you do get a diagnosis. See. If it's something else, we wouldn't think it over so much. If it's something to do with our heart or like liver or whatever, even if it's the tiniest symptom, we get it checked immediately. We don't do the same when for mental or developmental issues. Even IF it turns out that you are not autistic, I think the diagnosis would still help you a lot. So, please give this a think and see how you feel about it. Maybe go with one of your friends. It will give you some strength to be there with someone who gets you.

I hope the exam goes well. If you want to get your exams over with and tackle this after, then do that. Our energy is not infinite. We can only bear so much. So, try to prioritize. Always choose what is best for your mind and healthy.

But personally even if I don't like him or his actions at certain times, I feel like the broader picture is still there and I root for him because I get why he's like he is? And I can see and appreciate the softer sides of him even if they're fairly well hidden at times.

I also think some people in the fandom intellectually understand that he's traumatised and a survivor of various abuses, and when that shows in certain ways e.g. like if Callum or Lola is comforting while he's crying. But when it comes to situations like this week with Jags and Whitney, I personally think some people have struggled to understand how his trauma connects to it because it's not as obvious as e.g. Whitney's fiance dies, Gray manipulates her, bish bash bosh hit and run. Even more broadly I think it's easy for the audience to underestimate how Ben's experiences have shaped him because there's a distance created by time, his criminal actions, his (un)likeability factor, not viewing Phil as an abusive parent etc.

I don't wanna say everyone criticising him is like that btw! I'm sure there's a few reasons but I think this plays a part tbh.

i know this seems like an irrelevant ramble but i think i've realized that this is what my issue is. ppl not understanding trauma is frustrating and damaging and still pisses me off, but i feel like what actually pisses me off more are the ppl who just don't even attempt to be understanding bc underneath it all they're angry/frustrated at the show/sls and that's how it manifests itself. ppl don't like the direction ben and/or callum are going in and so the minute they (and it's usually ben lbr) step out of line they JUMP on that as an excuse to vent their frustrations and often end up saying shit that is ignorant or damaging or mean or just straight up cruel abt things that are so often symptoms of mental illness or trauma. so they're out here posting so many things and making these cruel little comments bc they can't just acknowledge that they don't actually like ballum anymore meanwhile ppl who are actually disabled/mentally ill/traumatised are sitting there reading all of these things and seeing all the people agreeing w them and it's doing real life damage to people.

is it on purpose? probably not. but that doesn't make the damage any less real. i have never forgotten or forgiven the way ppl reacted after ben went deaf. it was vile. as a disabled person who reacted very badly to being disabled just like ben did, it genuinely fucked me in the head seeing what ppl said abt him during that time. now i understand that it was partially ignorance but also a big chunk of it was ppl being unhappy bc they thought they wouldn't be able to enjoy their ship anymore bc ben was disabled (not that he hadn't been disabled before, but now it wasn't ignorable anymore).

I mentioned the cut line about Timothy's placeholder actor talking about a brother and a Vault Key in the tags on another post recently and now I can't stop thinking about it because the line itself + the person saying it just didn't sit right with me since I found it so. Here's a thing I wrote up to make sense of it in my Swiss cheese platter of a brain

"For losing control of your brother when we had him locked down? Yeah, we're square. But last I checked, you still owe us a Vault Key."

And here's his placeholder actor saying some other lines that are actually from the dlc so ya know I'm not joshing u abt this being Timothy's placeholder guy

So anyway I was thinking about who Timothy's actually talking to who has a brother, right?

Naoko Katagawa maybe? I can't imagine Tyreen would wanna listen to Timothy. Maybe someone in the casino dlc was supposed to have a brother. He could be talking to Aurelia, but then he'd have to be on the side of the villains, no?

Yeah so um.

My theory is that this is actually Troy's line and a different placeholder actor was used for him here. Then it makes sense why he's telling this mystery character that a) mystery person has their brother locked down (Hammerlock in the Anvil? Weird way to say he's imprisoned, buuut it's what fits) and b) they owe the speaker a Vault Key (Aurelia does indeed owe them a Vault Key during Eden-6).

The biggest thing against this is that Troy's placeholder sounds way different to me.

For example, here's a line from Troy talking about Tannis to the Vault Hunters:

Maybe I'm as bad with voices as I am with faces, but this sounds different to me. This will be so hilarious if everyone is like "cruddy. Bro. Those are the same guy." like I'm sorry!!! I'm bad at this lol

It could be that they just had whoever was available recording lines when they were introduced so they could fit them in on time- we know the casino dlc was already in development before the game shipped, so maybe they just grabbed Timmy's VA to do a quick line or two for Troy until they could get Troy's VA in. It is funny to me that (if this is the case) Timothy's was the one chosen for it, cuz he even says the line the way Timtam would. Meanwhile, you can hear Troy's placeholder guy absolutely Going For It in his lines and being sassy as hell. But maybe Timothy's placeholder was the only one available at the time.

All THAT said I'll still hold that saying "losing control of your brother when we had him locked down" is an extremely weird way to say he was broken out of prison by his friends. It sounds less like a "dammit you lost the brother we kidnapped" and more "this powerful person escaped our trap and we're fucked now" and I mean if this were H2O AU and Hammylocks was a werewolf in canon I'd be all over this, but he's not?? And that's why I originally thought this line was directed at someone like Naoko or Tyreen, who DO have powerful brothers that warrant keeping them under control and 'locked down'. Not that Hammerlock isn't strong in his own right, he's a badass hunter, but. You know what I'm saying? Compared to other characters featured in the story, he's not so scarily strong.

Maybe I'm reading into it wrong, I tend to do that frequently lol. If I'm right though and this is a weird way to express what happened in-game, then I think it makes sense why this line didn't click for me.

It is fun to try and figure out what goes on behind the scenes of this game. I'm really excited for the cut content stuff. I hope we finally get an explanation for those Evil Tyreen and Evil Troy portraits and the whole story where Troy flips out after Tyreen either gets hurt or dies and demands the cameras be shut off. And Scooper!!!! I want Scooper, he's so fuckin cute and he had a quest with a bully and 😭. Also the Eridian Gates, those seemed so goddamn cool.

I'd also love answers as to why a Guardian started talking and why Lilith asked us if we heard that after we killed Tyreen in the subtitle files. I assume that was gonna be a tie-in to the Overseer (same voice actress for the mystery Guardian line from the Vault of the Destroyer and the Overseer) with her trials since she and that whole situation is obviously very important to the lore if the Guardian Takedown had anything to say about it, but they went with the other method of finding each area? Which is fine, just a bit confusing cuz it does then make the Trials feel like side content when they appear to be main-story stuff.

And why originally Ava was supposed to ask Lilith to teleport them for noodles on Athenas instead of Lilith just yeeting Elpis across the galaxy!!!! Like I'm 90% sure the original ending had Lilith sticking around after she gets her powers back. And she was totally supposed to join us in the final fight against Tyreen, there's no reason she was suddenly holding her stomach and limping in that final cutscene. Plus her voice lines there, PLUS the Sanctuary drop pod right next to the vending machines. Also you can find Boom Town right above the portal to the Vault of the Destroyer if you noclip out of the area and that was probably there because Tina, Brick, and Mordy were also going to join us. I found their fightin/encouragement lines in the subtitle files.

Oh, also, I'd love to know more about the Bug Smugglers TV show. Annnnd the Second Stars cuz I love them. And can we see some Junpai-7 content pls 👀 it's mentioned soooo often between Commander Lily and BL3 that I wanna believe it was planned at least a little bit. Beach resort planet hoooooo! God imagine if we get to see Krieg and Maya together on Skywell-27 with like concept art or original scripts or something. I'd genuinely cry.

yeah bro listen. #1 thing to realize; no one expects you to be good at your job off the cuff. this goes for any new job but especially your first. they can only expect you to perform as well as they train you. ask questions! try to be observant, look for things that might confused you later and ask about them early on, it'll both show that you're looking to learn & that you're paying attention. the #2 thing to realize is that you're not going to have it down to muscle memory overnight but someday you will. its going to feel overwhelming at first because it's a whole new situation for you to be in; everyone goes through that. but eventually you're going to be old hat at it, people will be asking you their questions and you'll barely have to lift a finger to keep on top of things you were previously overwhelmed by. you'll get there! don't sweat it too bad.

my interview advice might be kinda dated because I was raised in the backwoods by old people but it's very y'know dress clean for your interview, firm handshake with eye contact, listen, speak clearly, and ask questions that show you were taking in their information and engaging with the conversation. if it's your first job and you're just going for an easy entry level position then tbh as long as you convey a willing and respectful persona they'll probably hire you.

Since Gilbert faints instantly after seeing Berwald in sight, even when he knocks on the door of the Nordics (Sweden is the first to answer rip)

He always sneaks to the back yard like a high school boy sneaking to the roof of the house to talk with Cosvin- he just didn't want to get seen and eventually when they send messages, or talk. Between them, Berwald tells Cosvin to give him a little wooden Gilbird as a gift for an apology.
