Yoshio Urasawa AMV MEP Sign-Ups!

I'm hosting a weirdly specific Detective Conan MEP (Multi-Editor Project)—one focused on the eleven episodes written by Yoshio Urasawa, set to YUNGBLUD's "weird!"

If you don't recognize the name Yoshio Urasawa, you might recognize another: Smile Village. Urasawa is a Conan screenwriter known for penning the wackiest, most outrageous scripts, like "Intrigue at Smile Village" (Episode 997) and "The Genius Restaurant" (Episode 1,089). This is a MEP to celebrate these oddities, with one part per Urasawa episode!

All oddities in question:

Episode 943: "Tokyo Barls Collection" (cabbage core)

Episode 955: "The Secret of the Insect Man" (bug outfits)

Episode 976: "Follow Them! Detective Taxi" (armadillo)

Episode 997: "Intrigue at Smile Village" (does it need explaining)

Episode 1,010: "The Idol Whose Smile Disappeared" (dine and dash)

Episode 1,028: "Ballad of the Woman Who Loved Cake" (drowning in red bean paste)

Episode 1,057: "Bad Guys" (they really want to throw Conan off a roof)

Episode 1,119: "The Four-Person Class Reunion" (host clubs are serious business)

How It Works

Open to editors of all levels!

As stated, each part will focus on one of Urasawa's episodes. While bringing in other sources from the anime or manga is permitted, the majority of each part should be the one Urasawa episode.

No style guidelines or color scheme! The only guideline is to be weird!

Please render your part in 29.97 FPS. If using Sony Vegas, please disable resample.

There is no preference on file format.

If possible, leave at least 15 extra frames at the end of your part for transition purposes.

The final MEP will be posted to this Tumblr and my YouTube channel. There will be optional subtitles on the YouTube upload, but the Tumblr upload will be hardsubbed with stylized subs like this sign-up video (though they're subject to change). Subtitles will be positioned to not cover up any editor's typography.

It's August, so I wanted to start posting all the ko-fi commissions that I've done since last summer that have been sitting in my drafts.

I started on an anthology comic this time last year that is now in the coloring stage and that's been a very, very time consuming project; I was asked not to share details until artist announcements were made, so I've been vague about it the entire time (still waiting…) Also around the same time, I got several big batch orders (I'm still working on the last batch, but I won't be uploading it here to avoid spoilers for the project) so everything took more and more time…

some realistic ways i see rose being included in the night agent season three, for the sake of proving that even if she's not made an agent, she's more than guaranteed a role in the story as is set up so far

1. gabriel has indicated a few times that he might want to retire from acting again; if he goes through with that this season, they can retire peter to cali and get a new lead for next season; rose might get a cameo at the very end, take him to therapy (this is my worst-case scanario bc i want her in the action long-term)

2. catherine, being aware of rose's hacking skills and her software, might pull her in for help with something, unbeknowst to peter at first, to help resolve the endgame of the season; invoking protecting peter will most likely get rose to join (would prefer it if this takes place at least three eps before the end of the season so we get some good scenes)

3. one of rose's potential or wannabe clients for the software might turn out to be shady and involved with the main plot; she and peter could run into each other while she's having a business meeting about it in the white house; she might try to sabotage the sale or software (this is my current fave bc it keeps rose in her own unique position in the story but also gives her a major role, it's something the writers can do if they're super adamant about not making her an agent)

4. rose believing in peter's goodness and wanting to defend him against the world is a common theme; she can use her software to manipulate some video footage to bail him out of being implicated in something at the end of the season, if catherine is willing to let him take the fall (he threw his life away for hers and y'all expect her not to keep tabs on him???)

5. if rose is in the same place as peter during a dangerous showdown, he can prioritize her safety again, or she can pull a gun or throw a punch and tell peter she took a self-defence course. chef's kiss (imagine if he has to protect someone in the white house but rose is also around doing her attracting investors job, or being pulled for a hearing on her software, when there's a bomb threat or the like, and he puts her first again bc he can't help it)

6. the guy blackmailing peter will likely have someone trailing rose and show photos of her daily life as proof anytime peter seems to be about to thwart him; peter might want to make a deal with catherine to have some security detail on rose until the mission is done (we are so getting at least a cameo for continuity... it's okay if rose is just a voice on the phone too if they bring her back in the next season)

so what's, like, our general consensus, that the previous cycle with polyxia and gnaeus and calypso and khaos was the actual previous cycle in amphoreus or did it, like, never actually happen and is just part of the history of this cycle or what? are we agreeing the one we're seeing now is the first cycle with these specific chrysos heirs and the only one that's always there is phainon or were all of them in the previous ones as well? and are we agreeing that the reaver is a past phainon that's somehow made it in this cycle or is he a split part of current phainon in our general understanding?

cause, I mean. If we agree that this is mydei's first cycle (if we agree that he's not gnaeus and that gnaeus was actually there in mydei's place in the previous cycle) how did the reaver know where to hit him to kill him. where did he even get that information from.

I forgot to add this to my last post, but I sincerely apologize for the almost total and complete silence from my end since DAV's release. While people who've known me for quite a while know this about me, I'm aware that those on my current dash won't know unless I explain it. So, in essence, when I immerse myself into a new game that I'm especially invested in (or become so early on while playing), I mean it when I say that I disappear into my gaming. Many say it, but I really mean it literally when I say it: it's very difficult to get a hold of me. It's not a sudden disinterest in social, it's just that I don't like to alt+tab, I don't like to distract myself while playing (except when I take breaks for my wrists), because it's akin to pausing a film I'm watching every two minutes, it breaks my immersion. And especially after all of the personal mess of the last year, but especially the last few months, when work has concluded for the day (and I also prepped for this), I enjoy just drowning in this, and as an oldie, this has fed me very, very well. And honestly, the total hold this game has had on me has lifted my spirits immensely, it was very sorely needed. It even had me return to my beloved chocolate cappuccinos, let's hope this spells good things.

I do plan to conclude the game's main story today though, so I'll be posting all of my thoughts incoherently following it, probably in parts with little vague headers so that people can decide what it is they want to read, or how much they can read if they want no spoilers!
