#VAGUE RANT ABOUT #BRIDGERTON #I'm back home from holiday #and so I've been watching the new Bridgerton finally #PRO: FINALLY A GAY COUPLE AND I LOVE THEM #They are fun but also two white gays which is funnily like one of the very few non-interracial pairings lol #They got the first sex scene too HAHA love that for the gays #anyway!#I enjoy them #CON: THEY FULL ON MADE IT ABOUT RACE NOW #It's 100% not colourblind casting #Like they've weirdly added race but like it doesn't seem like slavery was a thing?#There's just been some VAGUE separation of us and them based on white / people of colour #I dunno I'll keep watching to find out but yeah #I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED if they went the direction of #the '97 Cinderella with Brandy #but they were like......no let's make race a thing but like be vague and confusing about if slavery was a thing in this universe #and also like confusing about do the white people not like her cause she's black or cause she's German at first #LOL #Are all Germans black in this universe?#No...#Okay well then I guess we have our answer but why the line about being German then?#the LORE is such a mess #but I don't care I'll watch this series forever cause I'm a sucker for a high heat period drama

I've already had several breakdowns over the dashboard.#(turns out I was on the 'for you' tab rather than the 'following' tab. the theme had changed as well. absolutely insufferable.)#I've felt really unconnected for a while but it actually feels better now? as if my tumblr mutuals was the missing link.#very healthy and hot of me ngl #so. I had a two week holiday this year and they were instantly slurped up. it went so fast!#there was this big football thing the week before my holiday - basically teams of teens come from all around the world to play etc.#I heard a girl tell her teammates that 'I'd love to travel on this bus every morning; happy people all around you; just add some music...'#she was also very excited when the bridge opened. the 'happy people' around her sighed bitterly and leaned back for a ten minute wait.#it is thankfully over now. the bus home is no longer stuffed full of football teams. but it's a fun experience for the players etc etc etc #well. in other thrilling news I went to spy on our sister shops during my time off. to see what they do differently. maybe steal some ideas #one store was like an instagram post with fancy teacups and stylish outfits. who knew a second-hand store could be so boring.#the other was like a man-cave with furniture and a passively-aggressive note by the toys stating that 'if u break it u pay. idiot. tnx<3'.#the man-cave was my favourite :)#rant over now! take care and bye etc!

#just need to bitch about my new job for a minute #first of all - so lucky and happy to have a job i will say that #been unemployed for two months and i need something to pay the bills #but...the fucking 'no one wants to work' of it all is such bullshit #so this new company starts you at $13/hr #not great but considering i live in rural america it's way worse around here #they're remote but their definition of remote is that you can only work from your house no where else #you get two days off per week but it's not two days back to back #if you're full time you get extra holiday pay but there are no holidays off #if you're part time fuck you you just have to work #full time employees get 10 vacation days and 6 sick days #part time you just get so many unpaid hours off #like...i'm working part time because i'm hoping to get actual work in my field #but you're telling me if i was full time i'd get /16 days/ of paid time off per year?#but also i'm not allowed to go anywhere else while i work??#like i have family just out of state that i could pop over and see on a long weekend or even a short one #but i don't even have two days back to back so i just can't go see them without taking time off #and like...probably i can just use a vpn and it won't be a big deal #and i'm hoping this is a super temporary thing and i can actually use my degree #but like /fucking hell/ of course no one wants to work in conditions like this!#i know it's work from home and there are some perks to that but not enough to make up for everything else #also not them telling me during my interview that after training you don't have to be on camera #but during out first day today being told we have to 'earn the privilege'#bitch please it's fucking chat support #i am just so tired of employers thinking that it's a privilege for us to work for them #it's a privilege for you to have me honestly #oh and also if you run out of days off you don't get unpaid time off #they just start giving you strikes #like our trainer is really nice and great but also she's trying to sell this 10 days off as some kind of amazing thing #in the us that's /fine/ if you also get the holidays off!

2 projects left and i am free this semester

#i finished a fuck load of practical exams #this finals push is something #anyways one of them was a stage play for 21st literature #phantom of the opera! i was a background dancer and backing vocals #i miss practice for it :(#i watched the royal albert hall perf and 2004 movie for it #i'm thinking of watching the other film versions too #all i ask of you & the reprise has been stuck in my head for like 2 weeks now omfg #i did mainly props for this project #the phantom mask and the don juan papers #i took home the papers some masquerade masks and 2 copies of the script we put together hehe #what else uhhm #oh for my birthday my dad bought me the aapi variant of dd #11 from this one guy #its on my like comic wall now hwhe #it's all iron fist lie this month lol #on oct-nov it was all the blindspot/muse covers i had #mm at some point i started a bloodborne file and couldn't decide on how i wanted to make my hunter to look so i just made a bootleg P ..#like from lop. lol #i plan to get a haircut and buy holiday gifts at some point this week #my actual holiday break doesn't start until the 17th because of the remaining project's due dates but i'm going to get my parts done sooner #i think that's all the interesting life updates i have?#a.talks #my apolocheese for the tags explosion. I am NORMAL about seeing family I am NORMAL I am NOT nauseous I have DEFINITELY thought about packing I TOTALLY have already done my shopping from the work gift shop

#I'm literally sick to my stomach rn :/ I even ate breakfast #I can't even say going home everyone is like are you excited to go home #And I'm like I have newly divorced parents who have family halfway across the country from each other. Neither of which where I grew up #So I can't even see friends or anything. And my mom's fam fought about holidays so theirs is split #So my brother is going to one faction with the cousins and FLORIDA and I'm going to the other with my mean grandma who makes me cry #Anyway of course I say yes im excited to go home #It'll be good bc i haven't seen most of my fam since last Xmas. But still I am like. sooooooo stressed it's insane #Also work is STILL REALLY COLD #But not as bad as yesterday #1 day travel 3 days dads fam 1 day travel 3 days moms fam 1day travel. Then literally a week and my mom is coming to visit. Oof.#Anyway. Flight in 24hrs #Wait perks. I'm going to get a hug from my grandparents :) I haven't touched anyone anything more than like. A high five. Or 3in the back #Since may.

On hold while I may or may not have covid (probably from the holidays) and also half a gallon of epoxy resin to use before it goes bad (definitely from the holidays), but I'll put some words to paper right now just for you 🥂

Today, I made a mushroom pyramid :)

#Resin's expensive man #Once I use up this gallon (which was like $60 after a half-off coupon) I'm not getting more #I got it to preserve my bouquet from my friend's wedding which turned out great but man. Sometimes the thing you're scared about is just really stupid and once you realize it everything gets more simple

#told my father maybe MAYBE i will go to a summer theatre class so I'll have to get back home from the town we'll stay in for holiday #and i was scared because he gets pissed when i do that and don't spend 100% holiday time with them #but the only thing he said was 'you need to decide what to do with your life you can't do both uni and acting classes'#bro what #I'm gonna do afternoon classes i absolutely can do both just like i did in high school #i said If i don't do something to distract myself I'm gonna go insane #he said 'I've always told you so!'#man #are you fucking stupid #what's your point then #as if acting was something secure and stable like they don't even give you a mutuo if you act #you either get very famous in a very short time or you're fucked #so what if I want to keep my feet in two shoes #i can't believe I've been scared of this man for all my life (and just fo the vibes he gives off and well other stuff but it's not like #something serious has ever happened) just to realize he's this stupid
