Writing is fun bc like, I get to put that guy in situations. I get to fuck them over and be mean to them but also delicately hold then y'know? And it's especially fun when you have that one character who just has your voice already.

Like, I already talk like Legend and write like his narrative would be, and Wild just comes so easy. But then. That's it, then no one else gets situations but I also want situations for them too but I can't bc I don't get their character or voice and then I'm sad ;-;

Anyways yeah this is just me complaining that I decided to write from Warriors perspective and it keeps just. Not working.

How old is Lucas really? I saw someone say that he is actually 17 years old because he fell asleep at that age and I am pretty sure that is not true 💀

I've been meaning to write a post about this but never got around to doing it. TL;DR: We don't know! So any specific answer anyone gives is only speculation and not canon.

In the novel, Lucas goes to live with the old Wizard of the Black Tower when he was a teenager (I believe around 15 years old), but in the manhwa he was clearly way, way younger. After an unspecified period of time, his teacher gets married and has a child, his wife and child die (presumably) from old age, and then he kills himself in front of Lucas (as he was depressed because he didn't age with them because of his mana). Lucas tells Athy that his teacher lived for 1.200 years, but we don't know at which point Lucas met the man, so that information is irrelevant for our purposes. The novel also states that Lucas lived long enough for his younger brother to get old (while Lucas didn't, again, because of the mana) and have a daughter (fun fact: Lucas saved her as she was very sick and his brother asked him to do so). There's also the fact that Lucas tells the World Tree that he has known him for "several hundred years" when he was looking for its fruits.

We don't know how much time passed between the death of Lucas' teacher and him meeting Aeternitas, but it was long enough for Lucas to become a very respected figure as the new Wizard of the Black Tower. Not long after refusing to take Aeternitas as his student, he decided to take a depression nap that would last for literal centuries. It was never stated how old Lucas was at this point, but I think he was definitely not 17.

We also don't know how much time passed between Aeternitas' rule and the events of WMMAP (and just for how long did Lucas sleep). Athy does say he is an old emperor, and there are history books written about him, but that doesn't give us any concrete answer.

Lastly, the royal wizards in the novel call Lucas "a couple of hundred years old".

How old is Lucas? We have no way to tell. I also want to address that this is the nature of all magic users in WMMAP's canon, as Lucas himself tells Athy that she will live for hundreds of years too, so while obviously uncommon, powerful magicians in the canon setting are supposed to live that long. Should we also count the years Lucas slept as being part of his age? Physically, yes, but not unlike Athy, Lucas' physical and mental ages are very different matters. There's also the fact that the manhwa clearly has a different timeline than the novel: In the manhwa, Lucas met his teacher as a child, and he killed himself while Lucas was still a child (or at least looked like one). So how much of the novel's canon information we can apply to the manhwa's setting is also debatable.

So, the only answer I can give is: Lucas canonically is "a couple of hundred years old". There are way too many unclear variables to consider, so anything more specific than that isn't supported by canon information.

That been said, Lucas told Athy he made himself look "around the same age as her", so from a physical point of view, and for anyone that doesn't know his true identity, he is "the same age" as Athy.

i made myself sad today realizing that hera has truly lived her whole life on survival mode ― and actually has no idea what she actually likes??

and i mean i kinda knew that especially with how she dresses (like its cute and does have some sense of her casual style to it) but she choses from what's cheap, not based on what she likes. and if given the option to chose a gift. she will always chose the simplest option, thinking it is the most affordable and acceptable option to chose.

like i'm genuinely stumped on what possible hobby she could have because every option i imagine for her doesn't sit right and i finally realized why...

it's tragic really !! and i'm gonna have to do a lot of thinking but, man -- someone help this lady learn about herself.

All of this is OLD but I want to post it since I have been struggling to draw lately and I've been THINKING about this. And I still like a lot of these little details I made for this project... heehee... There are MORE characters than just these two but I have yet to draw them. Haha *RIPPING MY KEYBOARD APART WITH MY TEETH*

Ive been kinda trying to figure out how (or if) it would be possible to show the cutsie tootsie outfit that the main character wears because I am very fond of it... And I think maybe MAYBE it would be possible to make the playable character customizable? Through character creation methods... I am afraid though because it seems. Complicated of course. Not to mention custom pronouns if that is needed. (Which it probably will be considering the player is spoken about quite a bit). ARGH >_<

Just finished reading Horimiya.... it was such a slog XD

It started off alright, but around the halfway mark it dropped A LOT in quality. There's so many dropped plot threads, the pacing is wonky, the character development is lacking. LIke I genuinely wanted to quit reading it and the only reason I didn't was bc a friend recommended it to me. I cannot say I'd ever recommend it to anyone. It sucks bc it was a genuinely sweet and funny drama/romance/slice of life but then it got so boring! The characters got so stagnant and nothing really happened to progress anyone's development after a certain point at all? So many things were introduced and then dropped, never to be mentioned again. People may be like oh it just became a slice of life, so thats why it has no plot after a certain point. However, that excuse is hollow because slice of life stuff does have plots, simple ones yes but they do have them. It's like the series cannibalized itself. The characters lost dimension and stuff repeated over and over. Almost nothing got truly resolved. It was so annoying to read.
