Today marks three years of Dianthus existing! I made my first concept sketches for her on 11/20/23 💖 this also means it's been three years of Diathesterius! I sometimes use the date I uploaded Dia to toyhouse, the 21st, as the anniversary date just in case I'm late... but I managed to finish colouring this <3 I had actually wanted to do something for this earlier in the month, I even made some very elaborate plans for it... but it ended up not happening! Which is okay 💞 but I still wanted to draw a little wedding piece... so I did! I'll make something fancier when I have more time later on... 💝 I used my own handwriting here for authenticity, but at some point... I'd like to be able to rewrite in Greek for More authenticity <3 Uncropped version (and long rambling post) under the cut 💕 I get a little Vulnerable so don't read it if you're gonna be mean or else I'll like Get You or something

I've made posts in the past talking about why Theseus and Asterius mean so much to me, but I don't think I've made one on why Dianthus herself means so much to me.. so for her own third year anniversary, I'll do that here! before I begin...! the fruit in dia's hair here are from the strawberry tree, arbutus unedo. I associate the tree and its fruit with Theseus but... it's honestly been so long, I don't remember exactly why! Just that, for some reason, I imagine thathis childhood home had a tree of these fruit blossoming just outside his mother's room, and thus he has fond memories of it. Lady Dianthus... she who loves all things pink, actively hates celery, and still has a job at the library despite being so fogetful and clumsy... she who met Theseus and immediately became obsessed because it was the first interesting thing to happen to her- not a parent or someone she's close to, but herself! her first time feeling as if she had a true purpose. She who didn't understand Theseus' obsession with Asterius until meeting he Minotaur, and promptly decided "he's not scary? he's not scary at all! he's just a cow!" I've made sona and the likes before Dia of course, but she was the first in a long time who was truly meant to resemble me in all ways (except for the setting, of course...). I made her design simple so I would easily be able to redraw her, and gave her one of my favourite palettes pink and green and cream and gold. At first I really didn't expect to get that attached to her... I went months without drawing her after her initial creation. but the more I drew her the more I realized how much fun I was having with her...! It's funny looking back on it... originally I had a much more comedic idea for her story, and di not intend to ship her with Theseus in any serious way. It was going to be a completely one-sided love (with Dianthus taking the role of "crazed fangirl" - which she still is, in a way). I'm sure it isn't a surprise but it didn't take me long at all to start drawing ship art of them, creating artworks and writing of Theseus and Asterius was a self indulgent joy for me, so why not selfship art too? I ended up invested, of course. Using Dia I put a lot of my own feelings into a story; a sense of otherness, her loneliness, feeling lost and out of place. I had removed it later on because I felt uneasy with how vulnerable it was, but at one put I had placed one of the most traumatic events of my life into Dia's story- sometimes I think about adding it back, because I know giving her an oppurtunity to open up about it with her beloveds would be something beneficial to Me irl(!). But that's besides the point here... she's a stubborn girl, sweet but arrogant is my usual go-to descriptor for her; that's how I think of myself too, just based on what I've been told (I have a hard time thinking of myself as nice, though others always say so to me...). That may be part of why I tend to look for those features in (fictional!) lovers... something feels good to me about being able to butt heads due to this shared traits, but still coming together and making amends despite it. I do think it's a little funny that the sonas I've gotten the most attached to so far- Dianthus, and now Nerine- have some sort of theme of death with them. Dianthus is literally a ghost, and Nerine is metaphorically one (and maybe liteally, if I ever make up my mind...). Maybe that's just fitting for me, though... hmm... I'm not sure what else I want to say here... I think of Dianthus as "Me but in Hades Game / Ancient Greek context." Of course some events that happen in her life didn't happen to me, or, sometimes, I dramatize it (Dia's mother leaving her and her father to become the wife of a god was inspired by the fact that for the first few yers of my life, my parents were separated... but they always had a positive relationship with one another! Unlike Dia's parents), but she's become a big par

t of me all the same. Just as I am happy and hoping to spend many more years with Theseus and Asterius, I hope to spend many more years with her as well. i think that's all I'll write for now <3 if you read this thank you for being curious enough about me to be interested in all this 😭

A/N: Lex, the way I am sitting here smiling and blushing 😭🙈 I am so obsessed with the way that you write Speirs, so you saying that I write soft!Speirs well is pretty much the ultimate compliment 💖 Thank you for trusting me to write this, and I hope you like it 💕🕊️ (As usual, this is written for the fictional depiction from the show - no disrespect to the real life veterans!)

Casual is not a word that anyone would use to describe Ronald Speirs. Cold is the more likely word choice of those who have only worked with him, or caught whispers of the rumors that trail behind him. Careful would probably be the most accurate word. Everything that he does is deliberate. If life is a game of checkers, then Ron is playing chess, because he always seems to be at least two steps ahead of everyone else, like he has considered every possibility and is already planning his next move.

But this, you think to yourself as you watch him come into the room, is probably as close to casual as he can get.

And that's because he's a little bit drunk.

Ron had entered the room slowly, and now that the door is shut, he stands facing it, leaning against it with a sigh. Then he turns to you with a smile on his face that makes you wonder how anyone could think that any of the rumors about him could possibly be true. Especially now, when he comes over to the bed and flops down onto his stomach, looking up at you with wide eyes and a goofy grin.

"Good evening," he says with a curt nod. He obviously seems to think that he's being serious, but it makes you laugh.

"To you as well." You scoot over a bit from where you have been sitting to make more room for him, but he seems content to stay where he is - half on the bed, and half off. He hums when you reach out and run a hand through his hair, sinking into the bed and your touch. "I thought you didn't drink?"

He huffs - maybe a laugh, maybe a sigh. "The other officers convinced me to have some. To celebrate."

"Nixon?"

". . . Harry and Lip were drinking, too."

"Ah." You click your tongue. "Peer pressure."

This time there's no mistaking the laugh that bubbles up from deep within his chest. He rolls onto his side so that he can look at you better. Reaching up, he holds out his hand, and you take it, even though you have to stop carding your hands through his hair.

"I made up my mind though."

"Oh? About what?"

"After the war." He squeezes your hand. His brows furrow slightly as he thinks. "It's over now. Everyone keeps talking about what they want to do, where they're going and I -" He cuts himself off.

You squeeze his hand. What?

It's no secret that he's been conflicted. He had been planning to jump into the Pacific with Easy because they needed a leader. But now that the Japanese have surrendered . . . Winters and Nixon are going to New Jersey, Welsh is going to marry Kitty, and Ron . . .

"I don't know yet," you had told him when the news had reached Austria. "I just know that I'm done being a combat medic. Whatever comes after this . . . If I never bandage another wound again, it will be too soon."

"I don't know yet, either," Ron had said, squinting out across the sunny baseball field, watching the men and weighing his options.

Now though, drunk and trying to be sincere, he seems to have made up his mind.

"I just want to go wherever you go," he says.

Blood pumps in your ears as your heart starts to race. Did you hear him correctly? Is this because he's drunk?

Before you can order your thoughts Ron is pushing himself up so that he's sitting across from you. A pink hue has settled across his cheeks, like rosy clouds streaked across the sky at sunset; it might be from the warmth of the alcohol he has consumed, it might be because of the tender moment, or it might be both.

Now your heart is really racing. "What do you mean?" You ask over its roar.

Ron nods. "I mean that if it's what you want, I would like to be with you after the war. Wherever that might take us."

"Of course I want that." Is it even a question? "Do you?"

Ron smiles. In combat, he looks like a figure drawn with sharp edges and filled in with muted colors. But here - he looks so soft, and the colors are so warm and bright. If everyone else could see him like this . . . Ron would never let that happen, though. He has a reputation to uphold. Moments like these, glimpses of a softer man, are just for you.

"Wherever you want to go (Y/N)," Ron repeats. "Your hometown. Boston. Somewhere new. I can get my old job back. We'll have money." It sends a shiver down your spine when he promises, "I'll take care of you."

It's no secret that Ron does well in combat - like he's made for it - and that he enjoys aspects of it and the way that they give him a rush. But he is also a frank man who despises lying and always speaks his mind; he wouldn't be telling you this if he didn't mean it.

You reach out and caress his face. It's warm, and a little bit of stubble pricks your palm. He leans into it. "If you're sure. Then yes; I would go anywhere with you."

He averts his eyes quickly, his face growing warmer under your touch. Yes, you confirm, he's definitely a little drunk.

He reaches into his pocket and removes something, then holds out his hand to you. When you remove your hand from his face and place it on his palm, he slides a glittering bracelet over your wrist. "I thought of you when I saw this."

This whole war you have seen each other covered in blood and grime and uniforms - yet he thought of you when he saw something so beautiful.

"It's gorgeous." You hold your wrist up to the light to admire how it sparkles. "Thank you."

His smile grows wider. "Anything for my fair lady." He flops back down onto the bed, maneuvering himself so that his head is in your lap. He lets out a contented hum when you resume carding your hands through his hair. "So, where should we go first?"

"Well, we've already toured Europe," You note. "Why not just head to the States and see if we can catch a bit of rest before the next adventure?"

He nods, and it sends a thrill through your chest to think that this is real - you are together and this is happening.

"Lets go home," he agrees.

This - being here, with him - already feels like home, but you nod, knowing that home will be anywhere you go with your dashing gentleman.

As far as personality, I’ve been obsessed with the Marauders since I was 11ish and made them my entire personality. I have adhd and a lot of people say Im EXACTLY like James Potter personality wise. I have no aesthetic really I’ll wear a super frilly pink dress and those Amazon knock offs of the Versace platform heels in hot pink one day and one of seven leather jackets and old beat up black converse the next. I’ve been a competitive figure skater for 15 years and in middle school I skated to ACDC’s Back In Black after all the rude looks from old ladies I went on to do Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, ZZ Top, The Rolling Stones, Queen, and more. I also live in a small town in Illinois and shot trap in HS (just in case thats where you shoot clay pigeons with a shotgun) I got Top Female 3 years in a row and did better than most of the “redneck” boys who got their egos bruised when I STILL shot better when I showed up in my prom dress THREE TIMES. I drive a cherry red Mustang and sometimes wear lipstick and press on nails to match it. I have a MESSY room and car but you best bet everything else is organized, all my notes are color coded with rainbow pens and I have a 3.75 gpa, I work on campus at my university in the DEI office and I’m the president of the Disability Awareness club all while I’m running off of iced lattes. I loved all the kids of ST I just don’t relate as well because I’m older than them, but I do relate to Dustin and love his comedy. I somehow got MULTIPLE rare genetic disorders (how one gets multiple RARE genetic disorders idk the drs dont know either and all these rare disorder foundations want to test me now) one of them is Ehlers-Danlos and I have all the generic symptoms like stretchy skin and bad joints my knees actually dislocate and pop back in as I walk sometimes but the latest thing was my middle finger dislocated and I got it xrayed to make sure I set it correctly and now I have my xray of me flipping off the xray machine taped to my wall and I sent it to all my friends too with no explanation. Ive also become the nurse friend of the group because I currently have 12 diagnosed conditions and I used to have to give myself Subcutaneous infusions once a week before I switched to IVs in the hospital and even though I in no way went to medical school when someone comes to me hurt usually I can fix it or when they come with symptoms I can give them advice but tell them to still go to a dr then they go to a dr and usually the dr says the exact same thing I did except Im a Human Resources major and an anthropology minor and Im keeping it that way. As far as a best friend in ST I’d have to say it would be Robin because because she’s exactly like one of my real life best friends.
