I'm a cryptid in Stardew valley. I live on the outskirts of town. I disappear for days on end, purchasing daily one-way tickets to the calico desert. Nobody knows where I go while I'm there. Can occasionally be found fishing at random spots throughout town. I am never not running on at least one triple shot espresso. I take the abandoned minecarts to get around and am frequently seen disappearing into the sewers. I carry a sword for some reason. Once every week or two I will stride into your bedroom to deliver you your favorite meal. I'm a self-made millionaire. I attend all the town events and will go to your concert in the next town over. I have donated approximately 2583 items to the local museum and singlehandedly revitalized the town community center. There are rumors I can talk to junimos. I'm friends with the local wizard

Migraine is migraining (again). Can't really do much, so decided I'll actually practice for once (I've been slacking A LOT lately). Got my violin mute on to minimise the noise.

Headache is WORSE. Because of course it is 👍

As I've been oversharing, Daphne is terrified of loud noises, and given we've had intense thunderstorms almost every night this past week and my neighborhood believes fireworks start July 1 at 5PM and go for as long as supplies last, it has been a very long week. Thundershirt is useless. Tranquilizers may or may not mildly help, idk, could be a placebo effect.

In a change from previous years, she now also insists we seek shelter in my basement closet. (I don't fit, so it's just her in there, I have to sit on the floor a paw's length away.) If she's feeling brave, we can sit at the top of my basement stairs, which is honestly less comfortable for me but whatever.

Today I read some people have success playing music, and when the first fireworks went off tonight I already had some playing so I just turned up the volume and kept it right next to her and....

SHE DID SO WELL!!!!! Even with the professional works that were SUPER loud and went on forever!! She had some periods of shaking/panting a lot with some wild eyes, but for a lot of it she was even snoring!! Didn't even try to leave the couch. Sometimes got a bit skittish if I moved away from her, but that's it!!!!

Music is magic.

Going to cry I'm so relieved.

(For the record this is still a fireworks hate blog. I'm just thrilled to not be spending the night on a hard floor again.)

It was a sunny Father's Day morning and Max woke up to the delicious aroma of breakfast wafting through the air. As he rubbed his eyes and stretched, he couldn't help but smile. Today was a special day and he had a feeling that it would be full of surprises.

As he headed to the kitchen, he was greeted by his wife, Y/N, and adorable daughter, Olivia, busy preparing something on the stove. Olivia's eyes shone with excitement when she saw her father enter the room and ran over to him ready to give him a huge hug.

"Happy Father's Day, Daddy!" Olivia exclaimed, her face beaming with joy.

Max smiled and leaned in to give her a hug. "Thank you, princess. What's all this?" he asked, pointing to the variety of ingredients spread out on the kitchen counter.

"We made you a special breakfast," Y/N interjected, flashing a warm smile. "Your favorite: pancakes and freshly squeezed orange juice."

Max's heart filled with warmth as he watched his girls work together in the kitchen. Olivia, wearing her little apron, carefully flipped the pancakes while Y/n expertly poured the orange juice into a glass.

''Papa, go back to bed, you're supposed to have woken up later! It's a surprise breakfast in bed! Go, go''

Once everything was ready, Olivia carefully carried a tray laden with breakfast delights to her parents' room. Max couldn't help but feel a surge of love for his family. He sat on the bed as Olivia proudly presented the tray, and a decorated handmade card in her hand.

"Daddy, this is for you!" Olivia exclaimed, handing him the card.

Max opened it and found a beautiful drawing of him in his racing car, accompanied by another where it was now a drawing of him dressed as a superhero along with two more drawings on the side, they were of Olivia and Y/N made with different colored crayons (and lets not forget about the cats) next to a large phrase in capital letters that said "the best papa in the entire world"

Max, being the sensitive person that he is, ended up hugging his little girl tightly while letting a few tears escape.

"Thank you, my little angel," Max said, his voice filled with emotion. "This is the best gift ever, in fact, I'll frame it."

After saying that, little Liv's eyes shone with excitement when she saw that her dad liked her gift.

But the surprises didn't end there. Later that day, after a quiet family afternoon, Max found himself back in the kitchen, where Y/N and Olivia were talking about something.

When Max walked in, he was greeted by a chorus of "Happy Father's Day!" and the sight of a beautifully decorated cake on the table. Olivia and Y/N were proud of their creation: a vanilla cake decorated with cherries.

"You two really know how to make a guy feel special," he said, pulling his wife and daughter into a group hug.

''Daddy, before this day ends, I have one last surprise for you, wait here and close your eyes, no cheating !''

''Another one?''

Max listened to what his daughter had asked him, then he waited with his eyes closed for some sign so that he could open them, but when he did, he was not expecting that. In front of him, Liv was wearing a miniature suit exactly like his, along with a small helmet while her daughter wore it with a proud smile. ''I'm like you daddy! Do you like it?''

Max ran to pick up his daughter in his arms and spin her around in the air, laughing happily. ''It looks much better on you than it does on my sweetheart, wait, stand there, I want to take some photos of you.'' And so, Max spent the last of the day doing a photo session with his daughter in that suit that replicated his.

it was weird you hadn’t responded to any of jude’s calls or texts from the last hour. he found it strange you didn’t at least read or made contact since the morning when he last texted you. he had a full day of recovery and media shooting with the team and all he wanted was to be with you.

“hi baby… erm- it’s me… i’m starting to get worried that you’re not answering my calls, did i do something wrong? just please call me back when you get the chance, i miss you darling…” jude said into your voicemail once again, resisting the urge to freak out or overthink.

okay I'm headed to your place right now.

he sent you one last text before finally deciding it was just best to make sure everything was okay and go to your flat in person. he grabbed some of your favorite takeout and a book you’ve had on your list before finally heading over.

jude slowly knocked on your door with no answer, waiting impatiently and biting the inside of his cheek to hear a response but nothing was heard. he knocked again, calling out for you, and then wasted no time to slide the extra key you gave him into the slot, twisting it open rapidly and opening the door.

“y/n?”

he looked around and saw your office door open, setting the food and book down before sprinting to you. a full panic mode in him as his pulse raced at any scenario of you being left alone or something happening to you.

"y/n? are you okay?" jude asked carefully as he was faced with you slumped on the huge bean bag asleep. your hair in a messy bun, glasses almost falling down your face, ipad full with notes, a spreadsheet and planner open with your pencil on the floor, and a video lecture continuing to play as you slept soundly.

jude chuckled before crouching down and pressing kisses on your head, a small groan escaping your lips as you wiggled around in the bean bag. "y/n... wake up my love..." jude laughed as he felt you pull him closer to you, taking your glasses off and grabbing all your school stuff and setting it onto your desk.

"jude? w-ha-t what are you doing here?" you yawned squinting your eyes before rubbing them to get used to the lighting. "cmon up up up, stretch your muscles out, you were sleeping in an uncomfortable position baby," jude said as he helped you up. "no no," jude chuckled as you hugged him tight and almost made him lose balance.

"i missed you too," jude snuggled you closer, kissing your head repeatedly as you muffled your words. "how come you didn't tell me you were coming? i could've made something," you said with your eyes closed, snuggling into his neck as you breathed in his cologne.

"i did! i left you like five voicemails, and so many texts because you didn't return my calls," jude says still smiling at your sleep state. you gave him a confused look, detaching yourself and looking through your watch and seeing all the missed notifications from your boyfriend.

"oh my god! you did! i'm sorry jude, i didn't mean to make you worry handsome. i was studying for my test and i must've slept through all of them," you ran a hand along your face clearly upset and fatigued from the past exhausting few days. "i think i fell asleep right after our call this morning."

"if anything i'm glad you were sleeping and catching up on rest. all you've done this past week is uni and then study, study, study. you know how proud i am of you always for being dedicated to school, but you also know how much i hate seeing you overwork yourself," jude kissed your hands softly and then pecked your lips twice lovingly earning a hum from you.

"and before you say it, i know how hard the term is and how much you have to pay to every single detail, but right now i don't care. i'm going to run my beautiful girlfriend a bath, and after she's done her favorite takeout will be waiting for her, okay? how does that sounds?" jude said in a sincere voice making your heart melt with adoration and feeling grateful for him.

"that... actually sounds very nice..." you sighed out a breath of relief, following jude who was now in your restroom. jude touched the water to make sure it was hot to your liking, adding epson salt, some of your favorite scented oil, and a vanilla bean bath bomb.

jude helped undress, kissing every inch of your skin, and muttering praises how beautiful and proud of you he was, helping you get into the bubbly bath. "i'll be in the living room okay? going to order some food and those red velvet cookies you love so much," jude felt you squeeze his hand thanking him.

"thank you jude."

"just sit back and relax.”

“that was actually so nice…” you say drying your hair with a towel walking into the kitchen, feeling refreshed without worries of uni or work. you look around and gasp, seeing candles lit and a fresh bouquet of flowers sitting on your island. “what’s all this?” you ask jude who is leaned on the counter with his arms crossed.

“if it’s going to be a proper self-care night, we need candles lit, the house to smell like flowers and maybe this?” he pulls out a book from your wishlist. jude sees your eyes go wide full with excitement, “oh my god? how did you know i’ve been wanting this?” you try to each for it but he lifts it up in the air.

you squint your eyes at his teasing matter, “nuh uh. you made me think i had done something, and the last i want is to spend my night with my girlfriend dug into her deep book instead with me,” jude shakes his head seeing your frown. “to my defense, i was getting my well deserved sleep, no?”

“and you ignored my calls…”

“jude.”

“y/n.”

“fine you win,” you say rolling your eyes, placing the towel on the chair before leaning up and kissing him like a starved women. jude releasing a groan and slowly bringing his arm down to wrap around your waist, “can’t get enough of you y/n… especially when you smell so good.”

“let’s eat, cookies will be here before we finish eating. i’ve already set up the living room with warm blankets and your favorite soap opera,” jude says with a small smile, earning a squeal from you and clap of your hands. “you tried to deny about liking the show, saying you hated it, but what do we have here?” you tease as you sit down in the chair. “for someone who slept the whole day you sure are blabbering a lot,” jude scoffed playfully.

after eating dinner and finally being able to read at least the cover and back page of your new book, jude laid on top of you as you watched the tv, two uneaten cookies and your empty mugs on the coffee table. “are you feeling better?” he asks, looking up seeing you almost sound asleep. “mhmm, just feeling tired now…”

jude traced his hands on your are thighs, drawing small shapes and his name as you drift off to sleep to soothe you. his eyes grew heavy, but wanting to finish the episode to find out who the main character would end up with to tease you the next day. “don’t watch it without me. i see you falling asleep, so sleep,” you deadpanned slapping his shoulder gently and turning the tv off. “love you jude. goodnight.”

imagine during like a parent teacher conference you'd be telling him how great his kid is doing (except maybe she could use a little help in x area) and he's trying to pay attention because he loves his daughter (obv) and cares about her doing well, but he finds his mind wandering. he's staring at your lips as you're talking, at how every now and then your tongue comes out to wet them. and then he lets his eyes travel up to the sweet little quirk of your smile, the one that makes his brain feel like it's gonna melt and leak out his ears. then he takes in the rest of your face, dragging his eyes over you slowly, until he makes it to your eyes and he notes the amusement in them and realizes you've stopped speaking and are staring at him expectantly, as if you'd asked him a question and he hadn't answered and he clears his throat awkwardly, apologizing and asking you to repeat what you said.

at the end of the year, you ask him out and he accepts. your first date makes him (somehow) even more smitten with you and when he kisses you goodnight, he knows he never wants to kiss anyone but you ever again.

she finds it completely comical how she didn't know it sooner, for the ink that runs down the result window is so palpable, it might as well have been written with a permanent marker.

the test taunts and mocks her as she stares at it in complete despair and confusion as she so sure that they had been careful. but now, she lets herself cry over spilt milk because having a baby, on top of mountainous piles of stress that came hand-in-hand with uni, was not a checkbox she would've liked to tick off amidst her status quo.

the bathroom pounds with an deafeningly eerie silence, as she stares, and stares, then blinks as tears flow, then stares again. her ears are swallowed by loud static and her vision fuzzes around the edges, making the test in her hand seem further away than it actually is, and she allows herself to completely fade out.

she feel utterly sick. like she wants to throw up, but the upcoming bile, instead, remains dislodged in her throat and presses immense weight into her chest. it shortens her breaths, she's hyperventilating as if she's been strangled, then panic completely overwhelms her. everything before her zooms in and out like a malfunctioning camera and the pregnancy test clatters to the ground as she digs the heels of her palms into her eyes.

she doesn't remember the last time she had a panic attack this severe, and neither does she know if she'll get over it solus. yearn for a presence beside her devours her brain and she wishes that lando–

lando.

the way her heart seems to squeeze in her chest is almost too animalistic to be normal, and it arrives at the thought of him being unacceptable of the baby. he's barely situated in one place, fuck, he basically travels for a living, and all her mind conjures is how he won't be there when she needs him most. she tries to wish it away, because just thinking about her makes her spiral even more and she knows she cannot survive with a child whose father decides to be absent.

codependency isn't great, that she's thoroughly aware of, but lando's presence brings a wave of comfort braided in the brightness of his smiles and the warmth of his embrace, and it has become her whole lifeline.

yet, the bathroom she's in feels too small and too cold to be anything other than unbearable, and her body feels to weak to remain upright, sliding down to the tiled floor. she sobbing and spluttering so much that lando can hear it from two rooms down, and he rushes into the en suite without a thought in mind.

he crouches down in front of her, hands flush against the skin of her cheeks. he's shaking, fucking terrified out of his wits, and his words are enunciated with a tremble.

"hey, hey, y/n breathe with me," he desperately takes her hands into his, and places it on his own chest, making exaggerated breaths as y/n's start to simmer. it feel like hours stretch by, the air surrounding feels tense with fear and devastation, and by the time she settles, y/n senses nothing but exhaustion.

"what's wrong, love? you're scaring me," lando gently asks, and she struggles to respond, mouth rid of any moisture as if it had been scraped dry. lando takes the initiative to look around in hopes that anything would give him a clue to his girlfriend's break down.

then he freezes.

the white stick lays there, gleaming and glowing like it's fucking sent from heaven, and he feels his heart plummet into the depths of his guts. he knows he can deny it all he wants, but it's undeniable, what he's seeing, yet prays like a grieving mother that what he thinks is not true as his quivering hands reaches for it.

two bold, red lines.

"oh fuck," it punches out of him, every inch of energy disperses like fleeing birds, "you're pregnant?"

it's so small, so timid that he almost doesn't see it, but she nods, and his arms fall like he's been shot and the test leaves his fingers. he swears he's drenched in ice cold water and he remains silent, bound by stunned numbness. his lack of response spurs y/n again, and she begins sobbing, pressing her face into her arms and wiping it furiously. all she thinks is that he doesn't want it, and out of sheer terror, she starts rambling utter shit.

"i can get rid of it, if you want, lando, just please i'm begging you, don't leave me."

he's crying himself now, doesn't know what to feel at the suggestion, but it makes him gag.

"get rid of it if i want to? fucking hell y/n, i'm not a prick like that," he fumbles out, words wet and hardly cohesive, "as long as you want to keep it, i want the baby too."

she looks up at him, eyes so full of hope that he immediately takes her into his arms.

"you sure, lando?" she's still hesitant, burying her head into his chest, and as further reassurance, he kisses her forehead, "as sure as i'll ever be."
