OK you know what I’m slapping these refs down into their own post. I didn’t go nuts trying to finish all of these for artfight for nothing!

I’d like to do a remake of their og introduction post at some point with the other two classes buuut my mind is elsewhere at the moment! So I am handing these to you in the meantime o7

Mini updates:

• Dani ended up moving out, which left Nico scrambling to look for a new place bc rent was too high to pay for on his own. Ida told him she was moving to Nordhaven for work and because 1) Nico truly wants to be present in Sabrina’s life and 2) Ida and him are on okay terms, he made the decision to follow them to Nordhaven

(Inés, is in fact, Sabrina. I changed her name bc she was born w Sabrina but I wanted it to be Inés. Then I changed my mind and let the game have this one lol)

• The townhouse is much smaller than the previous house but enough for him and Sabrina for now. She’s with him every weekend:)

• When he’s not working (he’s remote for now, until he finds a new office in Nordhaven) or taking care of Sabrina, he’s struggling with true heartbreak 😬

• He’s already learning a lot about being a parent but it definitely hasn’t been easy (I also forgot how much work infants are ohmyyy)

What movie to watch based on your favourite Conclave (2024) character during the real Conclave:

Thomas Lawrence - Winter Light (1963)

A tragic film about a preacher who feels abandoned by God and who fails to serve his parish in the way he wants to. Main character is also named Thomas. If you want something more modern with the same plot check out First Reformed (2017).

Vincent Benítez - The Shoes Of The Fisherman (1968)

Classic story about a priest in a warzone who becomes pope.

Joseph Tremblay - The Devils (1971)

Previously banned horror movie about the corruption of the clergy and their descent to madness.

Aldo Bellini - The Gospel According to Matthew (1964)

Lovely movie based on the gospel of Matthew directed by a gay man.

Joshua Adeyemi - Paradise: Faith (2012)

The story of a hypocritical Catholic woman who receives the visit of her Muslim ex-husband and has to confront the sins of her past.

Sister Agnes - Ida (2013)

A novice uncovers a family secret. If you want a classic nun movie you might be inclined to check out A Nun's Story (1959) or The Bells of St Mary (1945) if you would like to see Isabella Rosselini's mom, Ingrid Bergman, as a nun.

Raymond O'Malley - Habemus Papam (2011)

A light hearted comedy about a newly elected pope with anxiety attacks that features the funniest and most heartwarming scene of a volleyball game between cardinals I've seen.

Goffredo Tedesco - Black Narcissus (1947)

A group of nuns struggle to mix their traditions and local habits after settling in a nunnery in the Himalaya. It's a story of desire, tradition and religion. If you want to see Sergio Castellitto complaining about the Church, I suggest My Mother's Smile (2002)

your family had been bugging you about bringing a boyfriend back home for years now

and now that it was holiday season, it was only getting worse

all your cousins and siblings had someone to bring along and you decided that it was finally time for you to do the same!

the only problem was that you weren't actually seeing anyone…

but instead of acting like an adult and admitting that you were single, you asked your classmate tenya to pretend to be your boyfriend for the holidays

honestly, he wasn't very thrilled about it at first, lecturing you about telling the truth to your family and not spreading such lies

however, when he realized how desperate you were, he decided he'd go along with your plan

at least this way he could make sure you didn't go too far with your lie. and he hadn't planned on doing much over the holidays anyways, besides studying…

when you and tenya arrived at your childhood home, your family was quite surprised that you were bringing a boy along, especially since you didn't mention you were dating anyone

you brushed it off with a smile, explaining you simply had forgotten to mention it, while tenya kept quiet the whole time

throughout the evening, tenya kept quiet about his relationship with you, letting you come up with lies to cover the truth

he just quietly kept an arm around you or let you sit on his lap as you talked, sometimes even pressing a kiss onto your forehead

he didn't want to over do it, but he still wanted to seem like a loving boyfriend

over the course of the next few days, tenya kept playing the loving boyfriend for you and your family

so much so, that by the time the two of you returned to school, tenya greeted you with a kiss on the forehead, without even realizing what he was doing…

Design for ida and her shuteye minions

(intended as a stand in for tfone airachnid but still her own character separate from that)

She was once a lifeless computer called sentinel that tarantuals remade into what she is today. his loyal right-hand lady and his eyes to the outside world. Her story fills nightbird with false hope that joining the six clan is progress towards her goal

Ida is a strange creature, she doesn't speak unless spoken to and is completely socially inept, but is always watching and recoding everything, her Shuteyes are essentially the transformer version of tumors, pieces of her body that take on a pseudo life of their own and grow out of control, but thanks to being pumped full of dark energon they degrade at the same rate that they grow keeping her functional and allowing her to reanimate them as extra eyes she can see through

She sits at the top of the six clan's hierarchy even though she lacks the six modes they're known for and observes the whole world and reports it back to her master Tarantulas with utmost loyalty, as in her eyes he liberated her from a life of servitude, not realizing thats just a lie to get her to serve him.

Before she was a real transformer, ida was a computer called sentinel aboard the maximal ship the axalon, where she served as a security system during the beast wars, as the conflict progressed the axalon was eventually destroyed, and and sentinel was left behind at the bottom of the ocean, until the wounded tarantulas found it after everything was over and used it for parts to build him a loyal enforcer, tarantulas told ida of her origins spinning it to sound as though she was a slave of Tarantula's enemies which he freed, and now is endebted to him, inexperienced with the world she bought it wholesale and never questions tarantula's orders, in fact she has even grown to take some delight in the cruelty he has her inflict on people

Ida works alongside the bubbly and energetic Navi-ko to ensure the six clan do as tarantulas desires, their origins as lifeless machines are well known and learning of them led nightbird to believe they were the ideal people for her to be around and that the six clan would grant her the personhood she so desperately desires but realized too late that their even though they had sparks their lifestyles left them with no lives of their own, and stripped them of many things nightbird idealized about life that she didn't realize she already had. They have no personal connections, no hobbies, only their work, and used their own authority to reject any attempt at steering them away from that.

What kind of life makes someone so devoid of aspirations? One without accountability, living in the comfortable top of their society Ida has never had to deal with consequences for her actions, she doesn't even have to hold herself accountable for enjoying the horrible things she does because she does it for Tarantulas and that has twisted her into even more of a cold calculating lifeless robot than she ever was. Not realizing she's optimizing her aproach to cruelty to pay some imaginary debt but because she likes it
