More serious response to last post:
boundaries aren't a multi tool. They are not an appropriate response to all problems. What they are useful for are situations of "if I don't get x/do keep getting y, I am going to want less closeness with this person or group."
In situations where you want a thing but not getting it would not be that big a deal, generally it's best to just ask for what you want. Actually, even in situations where it would be a big deal, just asking is often the best first step. There are some things that make people more likely to say yes to a request; one thing that can make it less likely is insisting the other person owes it to you if they do not see things that way. People like to see themselves as generous and reasonable and will often do a thing they perceive as voluntary when they would dig their heels in if they perceived it as forced. This pairs badly with the psychological need many people have to not ask for things unless they think they are entitled to them.
I think the approach of "boundaries are a thing you do" is mildly to extremely helpful most of the time, and harmful in a minority of circumstances. As an edge case: assault (physical or sexual) is a boundary violation. It's also not something the victim can reliably prevent by their own behaviors. Other examples include someone else reading your mail, a health professional breaking confidence about your medical information, a friend outing you as queer, or an ex distributing revenge porn.
Also, sometimes people cannot get less closeness, eg due to being a child, having to stay with a partner or roommate for financial reasons, having to interact with an ex for shared custody reasons, being in a prison or being in an institution against your will, etc.
But there really are a lot of situations where the "it's up to you to enforce your boundaries" is effective. And I'm partial to it, because there was one specific time where an ex tried to force me to act a particular way that, in retrospect, was a violation of my boundaries. And that doesn't mean his weren't valid, just, we couldn't keep being as close as we had been. (He wanted me to shut up about a new partner -- not just keep it to relevant information, but not talk about him at all. I was unwilling to act as though one of my relationships did not exist. And it did very much leave me worried that my ex only stayed friends because he was hoping we'd get back together. And this was complicated because a substantial chunk of my social circle were people I only saw when my ex was present, so not mentioning my partner around him meant not mentioning my partner to a substantial part of my social network.)
The "boundaries" framework is at odds with the way most of us were raised (much like how "people get to choose their gender" is at odds with how most of us were raised) -- most of us got some sort of "there's a set of social rules everyone should follow, what any individual person wants is more or less irrelevant." So people new to using the concept tend to be really bad at it at first.
Oh also... people use the word "boundaries" in different ways. I think it's best to have the attitude that it's just one of those words that has multiple similar meanings, and if it's not obvious from context you might have to ask.

Disclaimer: The reader I’ve created in this fanfiction is a woman of East Asian descent (she’s half-Japanese and half-Korean) and she has certain features and looks a certain way. The reason for this is that I wanted some more East Asian representation in Kpop fanfics! Some of these relationships between said persons are only meant to be considered fictional, in no way do I ship them in real life. They’re just there to add dynamic to the plot. (Also, because my multi fan ass just wants to have fun.) Please keep in mind that the way I’ve described the idols in this story is in no way real or representative of how they behave in real life, this is just based on my imagination.
Also in this fanfiction, some said persons are involved in an abusive, unhealthy and manipulative relationship. Please keep in mind that this is all fanmade and fiction. I don’t encourage this kind of terrible relationship and if you are in one, please seek help. Never put yourself second to anyone; remember that you’re important and loved. 💚
You stepped down from the ladder, the dangling name tag attached to your white cardigan ‘Miyoshi Y/N’. You’re an intelligent and hardworking woman in your mid-twenties, 24 years. Finding huge happiness in reading tons of Shoujo Romance mangas, and loving the romantic and sweet themes. Innocent, feminine, a bit timid, quiet, and introverted are usually the words people associate you with. In a way you were like a tiny timid turtle; you wouldn’t come out of your shell unless you felt comfortable around them. People always misunderstand your silence, it’s not that you hate speaking or interacting with them. It’s not easy to engage in speaking so comfortably with new people, it’s always such a challenge to even start the conversation.
You pushed the cart with books, carefully scanning the shelves in search of the biology section.
You were an only child of a Korean father and a Japanese mother, and growing up you had a hard time making lots of friends. Being a mixed kid was a struggle, you often got bullied or picked on for not ‘looking’ or ‘behaving’ like a specific ethnicity. You went to elementary and middle school in Japan. But you spent most of your adolescence and high school years in Korea. That’s where your love for reading began to bloom. It was your way of escaping the troubles, pain, and loneliness of your life. You found comfort in the world of books, how your mind could take you to different places.
You smiled, scanning a few books and placing them on the ‘returned’ shelf.
But that makes perfect sense as to why you work as a librarian after all! That’s right, getting to work at The National Library of Korea in Seocho-Gu was like a dream come true.
You yawned as you climbed up to the ladder’s third step, sorting out some newly arrived manga volumes in the Romance/Shoujo section. When a young man with jet-black hair and fair skin approached you.
“Excuse me, Miss, sorry if I’m bothering you but could you help me find something?”
The man looked at you as he was wearing a brown leather jacket, a black tank top underneath and some pair of black ripped jeans. You noticed the many piercings in his ears, black nail polish, and several silver rings covering his fingers. He gave off the bad boy or a typical troublemaker.
“Of course, Sir. What do you need help with?” You answered politely with a small smile as you put the books back onto the shelf as your eyes finally met.
Although you have a boyfriend… You had to admit he was dangerously hot for a bad boy. Somehow couldn’t keep your eyes off him even if you wanted to.
“Well, I need help with finding this book about butterflies, apparently these beautiful creatures have been very popular recently. Sorry let me explain, I work at a Tattoo Studio and I need some references to sketch them out. Lots of clients have been requesting butterfly tattoos. Sorry if I spoke too much.” He bowed his head as you stepped down from the ladder.
You couldn’t help but admire how passionately and confidently he was about his work, “my, that’s wonderful. I mean butterflies are unique and beautiful. But sure thing! I’ll help you find that book. Please follow me.” You said, bowing back and walking to the large shelf stacked with books about animals.
“I believe it should be on the uppermost shelf. Let me just get that for you.” You moved the ladder from the middle of the shelf to the left and carefully climbed up to the last step of it.
His hands reached out to hold the metal ladder, “let me just make sure I hold this for you. In case it moves around. I’d feel terrible if you fell.” He stated and looked up with a sweet smile on his face. “Ah, thank you,” You nodded and grabbed the book, stepping down. “Here you go, let’s go to the register so I can lend you the book.” He took the book, bowing his head as he followed me to the self-issue machine, “alright may I ask if you have the Korean Library Card?” The man nodded before, tugging his hand into his pocket and he pulled out a small wallet. He took the card out in a swift movement holding it between his index and middle finger.
“Here you go, Miss Miyoshi…” He said, looking at your name tag as you bowed, accepting the card with both of your hands. “Thank you.” You scanned the book and his card as the beeping sound of approval went through. “You have a month to return this book if you see any bruises or damages beforehand. Please contact the library as soon as possible.”
He took the book as you returned his card, “ah, thank you. May I ask a stupid question?” He looked at me waiting for your response. “Um, sure what is it, Sir?” The man asked the question in a foreign language when his voice changed slightly.
“もしかして、日本人ですか?” (Are you by any chance, Japanese?)
“ええと? もちろんです.” (Ehh? Of course I am.)
You’re not fully Japanese. You’re actually half Japanese and Korean. But speaking with this stranger you felt like not getting into too many details, fearing you would be met with prejudices.
You both chuckled, smiling at each other as you spoke in Korean again. “It’s very rare to find Japanese people in Seoul, so I was quite happy to find someone else like me.”
“中本。中本悠太です。はじめまして.” (I’m Nakamoto. Nakamoto Yuta. Nice to meet you.)
“Nice to meet you too, Nakamoto-san,” You replied to him in Japanese as you tugged some hair behind your ear. “Anyway thanks for all the help, I’ll take good care of this book.”
“またね.” (See you.) Nakamoto said as he turned around walking down the stairs as you admired his figure watching him as he left through the exit.
It was an unusual and rare encounter to stumble upon a Japanese person in Seoul.
You had a few hours left so you were just cleaning some empty dusty shelves just to kill time. It was finally 5:00 PM and you were off, the sun began to set soon, and the sky was a perfect mix of cold and warm contrasts. “Irene Unnie, I’m off.” You said, wrapping the blue scarf around your neck.
“Mhm. Great work today, Ms. Miyoshi. See you tomorrow and have a great evening.” You bowed and took your leave as you left through the back exit. You texted your dear boyfriend Bryce and made your way to Seocho station, waiting for the usual Line 2 to arrive.
You: “Hey, Babe.”
You: “I finished work, want to eat dinner together?”
You: “I’ve discovered this new restaurant nearby.”
You walked inside Line 2, headed towards Sindorim. Luckily you didn’t live too far away from the library, it was approximately 5-6 stops away and the trip would be around 20-30 minutes. Even closer to your roomie’s University, she studies at (SNU) Seoul National University. To your surprise, he replied for once and did not leave you on ‘read’.
Bryce: “I can't, I'm too busy right now and later tonight.”
Bryce: “Could you lend me some money?”
Bryce: “I’m quite broke. And I need a ride home.”
Although you really love Bryce, you wish he’d change and mature a bit. He always asks you for money, even though he got a full-time job as a waiter at a restaurant.
You: “How much is it this time?”
You felt frustrated with how often you’ve asked that same question within a month.
Bryce: “6,000₩.”
With a bit of hesitation, you sighed heavily before sending the money to him. “Always the same, nevertheless,” You told yourself as you saw that the station was Sindaebang and it was time for you to get off. You decided to dial your roommate, and she picked up while her voice sounded relaxed.
“What’s up, Y/N-Unnie?” The woman said while music was playing in the background. “Nothing much, have you eaten dinner yet, or are you with Jungkook? I’m almost home, just getting off the subway.”
“Hmmm? Didn’t you and Mr. Asshole Bryce have a dinner date tonight? Did that jerk stand you up again?” You could already imagine her raised eyebrows and frowned expression even though you only heard her voice. You used the elevator as you walked away from the station and headed toward your apartment building.
“No look, Chaeng it’s not like that.” You excused.
Who are you kidding…? Why do you always keep defending him…?
“Miyoshi Y/N. This is within 2 weeks and all he’s been doing is canceling all his plans and dates with you! Are you really okay dealing with this kind of bullshit? How many times are you gonna let it slide? Sheesh. When you’re home, we're going to talk about this.”
You knew Chaeyoung hates Bryce’s guts. But her scolding you make you feel sadder. You sighed as she hung up. Usually, she ends a phone call with a ‘see you at home’ or bye. But you could tell she was furious this time…
You went inside and headed to the first floor, you typed in the password halfway through as Chaeyoung opened the door before even letting you type the rest. “Come inside, we need to talk.” She said walking inside the kitchen, her voice was stern and serious, usually, Chaeng’s tone was playful and bright. But you suppose you’ve angered her by telling her that he stood you up once again and asked you for money. You hung your beige fall coat along with the tote bag on the coat rack and tugged your shoes on the shoe rack. “Sit down.” You sat down on the chair at our dinner table, looking up to see her with crossed arms.
“You’re mad. Aren’t you?” You said sheepishly, looking at her. “Mad? I am extremely outraged! Y/N, for fuck’s sake! He can’t just keep doing this to you!” She lashed out with her arm, pointing at the door. “Bryce can’t keep canceling all his dates with you and beg for money! That’s not what a real boyfriend would do!” You stood there dumbfounded not knowing how to respond so you chose to be silent. “Listen, I don’t want to be the one to break it to you. But–” You knew she had something hurtful to say but she chose not to say it, knowing it would most likely upset you. The tears started forming around your eyes as you felt yourself shake.
You’re used to Bryce scolding you and yelling at you. But it’s a different case when it’s your best friend, roommate, and childhood friend since you knew each other for so long. This was your first time hearing that raised voice of hers.
“Y/N. Miyoshi Y/N. You better not cry… Don’t cry. Don’t you dare cry over a jerk like that!” Chaeyoung said desperately but you were already whimpering and weeping, “sorry. I’m sorry, Chaeyoung… I’m so stupid and such a big idiot…” You apologized, looking down at the floor, your voice shaking, “don’t apologize, please don’t say that to yourself.” She said, wrapping her arms around me and giving me a tight hug.
“Look I’m sorry for raising my voice at you and scolding you, Unnie. I just don’t want Bryce to keep disrespecting and mistreating you like that and making yourself feel small because of him.” You nodded, wiping the tears away as you hugged her with your free arm. “Next time he cancels on you like that, I won't let it slide so easily.” You sighed and nodded rather quickly, “anyways, no I didn’t eat. I actually finished class at 3:00 PM. But I just dropped by Jungkook’s place for some of his hoodies I’ve borrowed. He’s been getting a lot of night shifts in Daegu, so we’ve been face-timing a lot,” Chaeyoung chatted as you listened.
Unlike your hopeless relationship with Bryce, Jungkook seems to genuinely care about Chaeng. After all, they started dating 6 months ago.
“Wanna go and grab some delicious spicy blue crabs, Unnie?” Chaeyoung asked, holding her car keys up and rustling them. “I’d love to, Chaeng! Let me just change, these heels have been killing me all day!”
You wore a black knee-length skirt and some stockings underneath paired with a loose light blue sweater. “Are you ready, Chaeng?” You exclaimed, putting on your black Mary Jane shoes, “yeah I’m born ready, shall we go?” She said, wearing her black Converse sneakers, ripped denim jeans, and a white t-shirt.
Yuta went back to the tattoo studio as he showed the book to his co-workers. “Hey, you two. Check out these beautiful butterflies.”
“Thanks to the recent Korean Dramas, ‘NeverTheLess’ and ‘It’s Okay To Not Be Okay’ that have been so popular.” Ten voiced, cleaning the counter as Johnny swept the floor. “Hmm what should we eat for dinner?” He asked, looking at the two of them.
“On such a windy day how about some warm and cozy Soon-dubu Jji-gae?” Yuta suggested, flipping through the pages of his book.
“That doesn’t sound too bad, Johnny and I will get it while you keep an eye on the place.” Ten said, smiling as he got his leather jacket and helmet. “Right, we’ll be right back, Yuta,” Johnny said, walking out with him. When Yuta picked up his phone as a woman spoke.
“Ah Miya-chan, what’s up? You’re nearby?” He replied in Japanese, looking out the window.
“Well, I’m about to eat dinner. Wanna join us?”
“No, I'm alone at the studio right now, should we see each other tonight? Alright.” He hung up as he sketched some messy doodles of butterflies.
“Annyeonghaseyo, two spicy blue crabs, please.~” While Chaeyoung ordered as you waited for the waitress to find you a clean table. She seated you two at a table near the window as you bowed soon after Chaeyoung returned, sitting across from you. “It’ll be ready in less than 40 minutes or so,” she informed me when two guys walked by the window as she waved. They entered as Chaeyoung greeted them with a cool handshake, the one guy usually does when they greet each other.
“What’s up, Suh?” Chaeyoung said, leaning back a bit as she laughed, “sorry, you know I like joking around with your name, dude.” You got up and you bowed your head.
These two must be one of Chaeyoung’s many friends. You felt a bit overwhelmed since you aren’t used to being around people that you hardly know.
Chaeyoung wrapped an arm around me as she smiled, “this cutie pie right here is Y/N Miyoshi. Y/N, this tall giant is Johnny Suh and the sexy dude is Ten Lee.” The tall man bowed too as he smiled, “it’s nice to meet you Ms. Y/N.” Ten stepped forward, also greeting me, “yeah, it’s an honor meeting Chaeyoung’s cute roomie that she always talks so much about.”
“It’s a pleasure meeting you two as well,” You said and smiled as Chaeyoung hugged you, “anyways what are you getting? Wanna eat together?” Your eyes widened at her words. “Chaeng…” You gently hit her shoulder as a warning, “we’re just going to order the Soon-dubu Jji-gae to the studio,” Johnny said, chuckling at me. “What about Osaka Prince? Is he at the studio or with Miyawaki-chan?” She asked, rubbing her shoulder and giggling at me. “He’s at the studio, but I wouldn’t be too surprised if she actually decides to visit or even call him.” Ten answered as he went to order.
“Say, do Osaka Prince and Miyawaki-chan have a thing going on between them, or are they just messing around?” Chaeyoung questioned, resting her chin on the back of her hand.
“I think they’re close but not dating, you feel me? Lately these days he’s just been very focused on his artwork. And Miya on her modeling career.” You stared at your phone, trying to distract yourself from not engaging in this conversation.
“Here’s your spicy blue crabs and a large bowl of hot steamed rice,” the waitress placed the plates of food on the table. You expressed your thanks, “man this looks way better than the last time we ordered it!”
Chaeyoung said as she grabbed a piece of crab. “Well, bon appetit to the both of you, later, Chae,” Johnny said, leaving with Ten who got their order. You used a spoon to scoop out the delicious spicy crab meat as you placed it on a riceball topped with a piece of seaweed.
You hummed in response to the tasty dinner as Chaeyoung smiled, “wah, it sure is intense, want to get a drink?” She asked, fanning her mouth as you nodded, “excuse me could we order some drinks, please?” The waitress caught your attention as she asked, “Sure, what would you like to drink?” The waitress held her pencil and notepad. “One banana milk and a glass of water–”
“–Strawberry Soju, pleaseee~” Chaeyoung interrupted as she giggled, chewing her rice. “Ehh? Chaeng, don't you have classes tomorrow morning? Is it alright for you to get this drunk on a Tuesday evening like this–?” You asked when she wrapped an arm around you, “–don’t worry, after all, you’ll make the best hangover soup, hehe.~” You sighed in response after finishing your meal.
“Alright, banana milk and a bottle of strawberry Soju coming right up,” she said, noting it down as she excused herself. “What time do you get up for your morning class tomorrow?” You asked, ready to set alarms cause she usually blacks out after drinking just one bottle. “Mine starts at 8:00 AM, it’s just art history and repetition of important keywords.” Chaeyoung said, texting on her phone, “ah that’s nice, well you always loved art so much. So I know you’ll be just fine,” You laughed, pointing at the tattoo behind her ear.
“Oh yeah. That reminds me that I need a new tattoo! Can you tag along with me, this Thursday? Jungkook has an investigation to do in Busan so unfortunately, he can’t join me this time,” she said, eating some rice in a piece of seaweed. “Umm, I don’t know, I’ve never been to a Tattoo Studio before Chaeng–”
“–That’s okay, you just have to be my moral support while I get the cherries done on my right shoulder,” giggling as her cute dimples appeared.
“Here are your drinks, sorry for the long wait,” the waitress placed them down, “enjoy.”
Chaeyoung popped the bottle open and took a long sip. “Say, did you meet any cute guys at the library today?~” She asked you all of a sudden, “ehh Chaeng? What are you talking about? I’m too focused while at work and besides, I got a boyfriend!” Finishing your banana milk as her question made you super flustered. “Aw come on, you’re in a good mood today. I can tell you met someone special,” pressing both of her arms on the table as she winked at me.
Was it that obviously written on your face?
“Well, I met this Japanese man who wanted a book about butterflies… It was work-related to his Tattoo Studio.” You mumbled, your cheeks slowly burning up with shyness. “Ahh, that’s sorta sweet. What was he like? Cute? Attractive? Strong? Handsome?” Chaeyoung asked question after question, “he had black jet hair, umm lots of piercings, and sorta gave me bad boy vibes. He seemed passionate about his work, a very sweet smile” You added, thinking back at him.
“You seem to be sorta crushing on him, Miyoshi.~” She pointed out as you tried to deny it, “Chaeng it’s not like that… I have a boyfriend and so what if I find him handsome?–” You covered your lousy mouth immediately after admitting that. “Oh my~ Y/N seems too naughty and mischievous, hehe~” Chaeyoung giggled, she was clearly already tipsy after emptying half of that Soju bottle.
“Look Chaeng, I’m not cheating on Bryce. Besides he was just a kind stranger, I don’t think I’ll ever meet him again.” You said with a subtle sad tone in your voice as you fidgeted with your plastic straw. “Well it’s not like it’s impossible, you know it’s all about chance.~” She smirked teasingly as you finished your banana milk and got up, “come on, let’s get you home, drunk strawberry,” wrapping her arm around you as she stood up. “Yeah, yeah. Mom.” She said, the bottle in her hand as you chuckled.
“You got any cigs?” She asked, straddling his lap as he kissed her neck. “I do. In my leather jacket, Miya-chan,” Yuta said, kissing her collarbones as his hands ran up and down her back. “Mhm~ Nakamoto-kun, you’re so handsome~” Miyawaki giggled, kissing him deeply, “so what time should we meet later?”
Yuta hummed, looking at the clock “let’s say 10:30 PM?” He suggested, rubbing her thigh slightly as he had a sly smirk. “Deal. Don’t keep me waiting,” she said, giving him a slightly mean look as he chuckled. “I’ll try, I’ll try.”
“Ohh so we got a visitor.” The tall man joked as he placed the plastic bag of food on the table. Ten followed him as he chuckled, “so she came after all, what’s up, Miyawaki?” He waved, grabbing a pair of chopsticks, “nothing much, just stopped by to say hi to Nakamoto-kun,” Miyawaki said, eyeing Johnny as she got off Yuta’s lap.
“What, did you order this time? Tteokbokki and Ramyun?” She walked over, checking the plastic bag, “no. Yuta wanted some warm and cozy Soon-dubu Jji-gae on a windy day like this.” Ten said, getting some bottles of Yakult from the refrigerator.
“Ohh yeah, we had to tell you that Chae and her cute roomie said hi.” Johnny said, handing him a bowl and a wooden spoon, “are you eating too, Miyawaki?”
Ten asked, holding out a bottle of Yakult. “Mmm, no. I think I should get going, see you later, Nakamoto-kun~” she said, kissing Yuta’s cheek as she left. “Always leaving so quickly, does she not like us?” Johnny asked, slurping the delicious spicy sauce. “Yeah, it feels like Ms. Miyawaki always seems to be in a hurry whenever we show up.” Ten added, drinking his Yakult. “It’s not like that. I mean she got a boyfriend and that's why she’s always rushing off,” he said, taking a sip of his Yakult, “she’s not my girlfriend, but she always comes to me whenever Hisashi is troubling her.”
We were finally home as your roomie was busy throwing up in the bathroom, you knew you’d had to go and get her some medicine. You knocked on the door, “everything alright, Chaeng?”
“Yuh… could you get me some meds?” She panted as you nodded in response, “just one packet?”
“Make it two… also some headache pills.”
“Alright, I’ll be right back,” You said, walking to get your shoes.
Yup. That’s your roommate, short, black pixie cut-styled hair, dark brown eyes, and fair skin. Son Chaeyoung, 23 years old, is a wild and outgoing woman who always parties and goes nightclubbing. Super creative and artistic, her sense of fashion is quite trendy, chic, sorta tomboyish, and highly influenced by street style. You rarely see Chaeng in skirts or dresses as she prefers pants or shorts. She’s studying Fine Arts and Performing Arts at Seoul National University, also known as “SNU”. She gets along with pretty much anyone due to her naturally extroverted and funny personality. She has been your roommate for almost 2 years now.
“Hello, may I ask for two packets of hangover medicine and a pack of headache pills?” You asked, walking to the counter of the pharmacy. “Of course, Miss, do you need anything else?” The cashier asked, “ah, no thank you,” You responded and bowed, paying.
“So what are you and Miyawaki Sakura?” Johnny asked, standing outside with him.
“Friends with benefits, only using each other solely for a short moment of embrace and pleasure,” Yuta said with a cigarette in his mouth, “so that we’re happy with ourselves.” A small flame lit as he inhaled and then exhaled the smoke. “Right, I guess it does work for some people. There’s no need to be in love or committed in that type of relationship I suppose.” Johnny shrugged, walking inside.
“I suppose not,” Yuta scoffed, watching the night sky as he sighed heavily.
“When is it ready?” Chaeyoung groaned, lying in her bed as you sat by her side. “In around 2 hours, I’m still boiling the ox bones for the flavorful broth.” Moving her bangs away you put a damp piece of cloth on Chaeyoung’s forehead.
“Man this sucks balls!” She yelled out frustrated, “well, if I remember correctly you’re the one who wanted to drink strawberry Soju on a Tuesday evening?” You replied sassily as she pouted.
“Next time, if I ever drink again on such an evening. Please, hit me as hard as you can, Y/N!” You laughed, poking her cheek, “alright, just get some rest. I’ll wake you up once it’s ready.”
You went back to the kitchen checking on the ox bones as you poured them into a sieve. Using the liquid for the broth added the napa cabbages, green chilis, minced garlic, and some Korean fermented soybean paste.
You opened your manga, ‘Say I Love You’, and began reading from where you left off last time. You were into the plot, how Mei was bullied and how she grew cautious of people around her as a result. In a way you could relate to that, not trusting anyone and being so cold. You drowned in the chapter when the male lead suddenly kissed her.
Suddenly the timer went off as the soup was ready. “Here you go, Chaeng.” You placed the tray of porridge and a glass of hot water. “Thank you, Unnie… You’ve saved me!” Chaeyoung exclaimed as she chuckled.
“I’ll let you eat and rest, if you need something just call me. I’ll be in the living room watching anime, okay?” You walked out glimpsing at her as she signaled a thumbs up.
Listening to the cheerful opening, ‘My Sweet Heart’ as you were watching Tokyo Mew Mew. Then suddenly your mother called her on the phone.
Ehh? Facetime? You guess mom has some good news. “Ah good evening, mom. What’s going on?”
“Mmm, I thought I’d call you to let you know that your aunt, Asami, is visiting Seoul with your niece, Ayaka.”
“Ah, that’s great news. When will they arrive?”
“Wednesday or Thursday, they’ll visit your uncle in Jeju Islands first.”
“How is everything with sweet Bryce?”
You didn’t feel like talking about him. But mom has no idea how it is between the two of us right now. You should tell her the truth.
“お母さん…” (Mom…)
“Yes, my dear Y/N?”
“When are you and Appa visiting Seoul again?”
You knew it. After all, you couldn’t bring yourself to explain what had happened between you two.
“Mmm, changing the subject all of a sudden, Y/N-chan? Is Bryce nearby? I want to say hi to him.”
“Bryce is studying with his classmates. Sorry that you can’t see him this time, mom.”
I’m sorry, mom. But you don’t want her to see you hurt.
“Alright, how’s Chaeyoung and her boyfriend?”
“Good, Chaeng’s sleeping right now. She has classes early in the morning tomorrow.”
“What are you watching?”
“Tokyo Mew Mew, but I have to go. I have a lot of work tomorrow.”
“おやすみなさい、お母さん.” (Good night, mom.)
“はい、またね.” (Yes, see you.)
You sighed, turning off the TV. “You should have told her the truth, Y/N, you idiot.” You scolded yourself, hugging your knees.
“Hmm, Nakamoto.~” The woman mumbled, kissing his neck as he traced his fingertips on her back. “Miya-chan,” Yuta whispered, unclasping her bra as she kissed his lips.
“I really like you, Nakamoto-kun.”
These deceiving and empty words of yours. They always gave me hope for our relationship, but I know that in the morning you’ll go back to him.
“I like you too, Miya-chan,” Yuta mumbled before kissing Miyawaki’s neck and collarbones as they embraced each other.
“Should I go down on you first?” Yuta asked, looking at her as she nodded. “I need you, Nakamoto-kun.”
He chuckled, pulling her panties down to her feet as she spread her legs. “Mmh, you’re not as sweet as you were the last time. You taste a bit more salty this time.” Yuta said, licking Miyawaki’s clit as he locked eyes with her.
“That’s because Hisashi is stressing me out.”
“You should just break up with that loser already if he’s not pleasing you in bed.” Yuta scoffed, licking her folds as he stuck two fingers inside her pussy.
“Ahh… it’s not that easy, you know, mmh… Nakamoto-kun.” Miyawaki pouted, throwing her head back. Yuta licked her folds roughly and thoroughly, getting a good taste of her. “I guess not,” Yuta scoffed, sucking on her swollen clit as he moved his tongue up and down her lips. “Ahh…! Besides, we’ve been together for 2 years now, we can’t just break up.” Miyawaki moaned as she came inside his mouth and he licked it clean.
That’s enough. I’m tired of always hearing that excuse.
“Then if your relationship is so serious, why do you always run back to me whenever you have problems with him? Am I your replacement for Hisashi?” Yuta scoffed, getting up as their eyes met in a mean glare.
“Yuta-kun… You know that’s not it. I…” Miyawaki stammered as she sat up. Yuta sighed, sitting on the edge of the bed.
“Sorry, I guess that was rude of me to say it like that,” Yuta said, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Even if you were right, it gives you no right to speak like that to me, Nakamoto-kun.” Miyawaki belted as she began to put her panties and the rest of her clothes on.
“Where are you going?”
“Home. Don’t talk to me.”
The woman walked out, smacking the door. Yuta sighed, throwing himself on the bed as he stared at the ceiling.
“I’m such an asshole.” He had a sad smile plastered on his face, he closed his eyes.
“もしかして、日本人ですか?” (Are you by any chance Japanese?)
“ええと? もちろんです.” (Ehh? Of course I am.)
“It’s very rare to find Japanese people in Seoul, so I was quite happy to find someone else like me.”
“中本悠太です. はじめまして.” (I’m Nakamoto Yuta. Nice to meet you.)
“Nice to meet you too, Nakamoto-san.”
“Anyway thanks for all the help, I’ll take good care of this book.”
“またね.” (See you.)
Why am I thinking of that pretty woman? She’s like an angel.
Yuta woke up early as he brushed his teeth. “Hopefully Miya-chan isn’t too angry with what happened yesterday… Maybe I should call her later to make up.” He mumbled and started the shower.
The next morning you woke up early to make lunch for yourself and Chaeyoung.
Chaeng probably wants some tasty rice for lunch when she’s slightly hungover from yesterday. “Right, let me just add some fresh cherry tomatoes and lettuce too.”
“Morning’ Unnie,” Chaeyoung yawned as she rubbed her head, “feeling better, Chaeng?” She bopped her head.
“What do you want to eat? You asked, washing the pan under some hot water. “I’ll have some fried eggs and toast.” Chaeyoung hummed, putting the towel on her shoulder. “I’m gonna shower, do you want to use the bathroom before I do that?” You shook your head as she went to the bathroom.
“Um, what do you want to drink? Tea, coffee, or hot cocoa?” Knocking on the door as you waited for her response.
“I’ll have some iced coffee, Unnie.” You heard the sound of water boiling in the kettle as you went back to the kitchen to cook breakfast.
“Thanks for always looking out for me, Unnie.” Chaeyoung smiled, eating her toast topped with fried eggs.
“No need to thank me, you’re my best friend and roommate after all. So it’s only natural we look out and take care of each other.” You responded, eating your steamed rice and pickled cucumbers.
“We really need to find you a new boyfriend soon, you gorgeous girl.” She giggled, sipping on iced coffee.
“What time do you finish classes?”
“Uhh, around 1-2 PM, why wanna hang out?”
“Yeah, maybe we can go shopping or eat lunch together?”
Chaeyoung nodded as she put on her sneakers, “see you later, Unnie.” You hugged her, “have a nice day at school, bye-bye.”
You put on a chiffon blouse and some loose pants. You greeted Ms. Irene as you began sitting in front of the computer, ordering a couple of new arrivals books.
“So what piercing do you want to get?” Yuta asked, showing him pictures of piercings.
“Just my right eyebrow, dude. Like the silver piercing.”
“Got it, Mark.”
“Yeah, I’ve been thinking about getting one for so long.”
“Why haven’t you gotten it sooner?”
“Been too busy with work and training. To even think about it, heh.”
“Woah! I didn’t know that you had gotten a new tattoo, Yuta.”
“Oh, this one? I got it a few weeks ago.” Yuta replied, lifting his shirt a bit as it revealed his beautiful butterfly.
“I got it to showcase what a butterfly tattoo would look like. But somehow this small tattoo turned out to be more meaningful and special to me.” He added, smiling to himself.
When Yuta thought back to when he first encountered Miyawaki Sakura…
“Say, what does this butterfly tattoo mean?” Miyaki asked, looking at his abs.
“The ugliness and pain of happiness, and lack of freedom. That’s what butterfly tattoos symbolize.” Yuta scoffed, finishing his glass of beer as she giggled. “That’s so cool, I kinda like that,” she smiled, hugging his arm.
“Yah, what’s up friends?” Chaeyoung entered as she placed her tote bag on the table. “What brings you here, Chae?” Johnny asked, folding his arms. “Yeah, don’t you have classes right now?” Ten added, looking at her. Mark greeted her as she did the same.
“Yes. I do. But my other class was canceled because our professor had a meeting to attend.”
“Anyways, I’m going to eat my lunch here. Is that okay?”
“As long as you share. Cause that looks really good, Chae.” Mark said, looking at her bento box.
“Well, it looks different from your usual healthy salad and fruits. Are you the one who made it?” Yuta asked, glancing at the onigiris, egg rolls, octopus hotdogs, lettuce, and cherry tomatoes. “No, it’s my lovely roomie who made it!” She snickered, eating an onigiri. “No way, the woman we met yesterday made this bento lunch for you?” Ten exclaimed, eating an egg roll.
This Japanese style of boxed bento looks incredible. I wonder if it tastes as good as it looks.
Yuta took a bite of the riceball and then a bite of the egg roll. “Woah, this is really delicious.”
It’s almost as good as from home. Eating this sure brings me back… This is one of my favorite foods after all…
“Your roommate… What does she look like, Chaeyoung?”
“Mmm, are you curious, Osaka Prince?~” Chaeyoung teased as she held her phone up showing her lock screen. It was a picture of her and that woman, they were in tank tops doing silly faces.
It’s her… that woman. She lives with Chaeyoung. The librarian I met yesterday - that’s her. She looks even prettier than I remember.
“That’s Miyoshi Y/N, for you boys,” Chaeyoung said all proud as she ate her cherry tomatoes. Y/N… So that’s her name.
“So is she single?” Ten asked, poking his elbow at Mark. “Yo dude, why are you looking at me? You’re the one who needs a girlfriend, I’m way too busy with work.” Mark laughed, leaning back on the couch as he ate an egg roll wrapped in lettuce.
“Yo, back off boys, this pretty woman is sadly taken.”
It’s no surprise that a stunning woman like her is taken. Somehow it just hurts my heart a little. “By who?” Mark asked, “by some guy named Bryce, tch I hate him to guts.” Chaeyoung rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. Bryce and Y/N, huh?
“Yuta-Hyung, are you stalking Ms. Miyoshi?” Mark asked, watching him scroll through Chaeyoung’s Instagram feed. “I just want to know her a little better, actually she works at the library not too far from here.”
You were stacking some unopened manga books on top of the shelf as you sighed, “Ms. Irene, I think we need to dust off the shelves before stacking more books on top.”
“Ah yes, let me just get the dust brush.” She walked to the staff’s room as you moved a couple of books on the edge. Then you went down, moving the ladder to the left side as you leaned against the shelf, checking your phone for any notifications.
Why won’t he answer me? I really miss Bryce…
You: “I want to see you later…”
You: “I really miss you.”
You sighed as Irene handed you the brush, “thank you, Ms. Irene,” she folded her arms, “just be careful, Ms. Miyoshi, alright?” She walked back to the counter, helping a woman that had borrowed a bunch of books.
You got up again but this time at the uppermost step of the ladder. It was shaking slightly as you began to dust it off. You tried to reach for the corner but felt your feet lose balance when you suddenly fell. “W-Woah!”
A couple of romance and Shoujo manga books were scattered all over the floor, along with your left heel too. The fall didn’t feel like anything. That was because someone had caught you, with the same black nail polish-painted hands, pierced ears, and dark black hair.
“Nakamoto-san…”
“–Are you alright? You’re not hurt, are you?”
Somehow you landed on his lap, your right arm on his shoulder as your left hand was on his chest and his right hand was on your leg. In that instant, you were sorta taken aback by this kind of closure between you two.
In a way, it was too intimidating to meet his fine and flirtatious gaze. You looked down when and noticed the butterfly tattoo on his abs, “ah, sorry.” You mumbled, getting off his lap as his hand traced your leg, “wait,” Yuta said, reaching for your left heel as you got flustered. “It’s alright, I can do that myself, Nakamoto-san–” You answered.
“–You were the one who fell so let me at least help you a little.” He said, looking at you with his sexy eyes as he gently tugged your left foot into the heel.
Heh, we’re wearing the same color of nail polish. What’s this silver anklet on her left ankle? A tiny turtle shell… How cute.
“どうもありがとう…” (Thank you very much…)
“どういたしまして.” (You’re welcome.)
“I was dusting off the shelf when I reached for the corner, I lost balance and fell.” You explained briefly, standing up as you stroked your hair.
I didn’t think I’d meet him again… What’s Nakamoto-san doing here?
“It’s a good thing you’re alright, Miyoshi-san,” Yuta said, getting up as he flashed you a soft smile. He handed you a couple of “Kimi Ni Todoke” mangas that had fallen and you bowed. “Yes. Um, I should get back to work.” You mumbled, feeling your cheeks burn up as you turned to the shelf avoiding his gaze.
Nakamoto-san’s dangerous. He makes your heart skip a beat. It's best to not look him directly in the eyes. He’s probably just a player.
“Ah, actually I came here to borrow another book.” He said, chuckling as you turned around. “Ah, what book is it?”
How come, this beautiful and cute woman was taken by some guy? It’s no use but I can't help but fall for her.
“It’s actually a manga, it’s called ‘Perfect Crime’. It’s one of my favorites.” Yuta said, smirking slightly. “Alright. Then please follow me.” You said, tying your hair up in a ponytail.
“Here it is,” You said, handing him the manga. “Thank you. Mmh, your silver anklet is really pretty.” Yuta smirked, averting his eyes to your ankle. “Ehh? Oh, you mean on my ankle.” You turned your heel as the turtle shell jewelry was wiggling. “Yeah, it’s really cute.” Yuta pursed his lips, looking into your eyes.
What’s with this guy… Is he flirting with me…? “Thank you, turtles are actually my favorite animals.” You responded, scanning his book and ID card. “They’re interesting animals,” Yuta added, watching you.
“Here you go, Nakamoto-san.” You gave him the book as his hand touched yours, “thank you, Miyoshi-san.”
I don’t want it to be the last time I see Miyoshi Y/N. I’ll get another book again another day. If that means that I can keep seeing her then I don’t want it to end yet.
“You’re welcome, anyways I’ve got to go now. I’m off.”
“Ah hey Chaeng. Yeah, I’m just finished, let me just get my things.” You said, applying your brand new cherry lip balm as you pursed your lips. Yuta glanced over, eyes focused on your lips. He couldn’t help but admire your soft lips, wondering what it feels like to kiss them. He looked away as you looked back at him.
Those red lips are so pretty… makes me want to kiss them.
You walked towards the exit when Yuta poked your shoulder, naturally, you turned around.
How do I not lose you? I want to see you…
“Ano… will you be here tomorrow again?” Yuta asked, rubbing the back of his head. “Ehh?” You mumbled, not knowing how to respond to his question. “Sure I will. May I ask, why?” You put your phone in the purse as you looked at him. “I might need help with finding several manga and books. I’d figure you’d be able to find the original ones released in Japanese.”
“Ah well. Of course.” You replied, smiling softly at him as you headed down the stairs.
“またね、中本悠太さん.” (See you, Mr. Nakamoto Yuta.) You waved and looked back at him exiting the library.
“So you met him again? And getting a closeup of his butterfly tattoo, mmm?~” Chaeyoung teased, eating her spicy salad as you sighed. “I wasn’t looking at his abs intentionally, Chaeng… You know…” You mumbled as your cheeks were pink from blushing. “It’s not my fault he was wearing a white mesh shirt…”
“Sure, sure. It’s okay to look at other hot guys when your boyfriend is so shitty, Unnie.”
“Chaeng!” You exclaimed as she sighed, “really… Unnie, you should break up with him, besides there are much nicer guys than him. Like Johnny, Ten, and Osaka Prince, you know.” You sighed, eating your Vietnamese spring rolls.
Although she’s right you just can’t seem to admit it. Somehow you believe that Bryce could change for your sake. But if that was true then he wouldn't ignore you and actually answer your texts…
“But let’s not talk about him now. I’m doing my art project next month and the focus is on the female anatomy. I was wondering if you could be my muse for the project?” Chaeyoung asked, sliding a piece of paper on the table as you checked it out.
“That’s so interesting, what exactly would you want me to do?”
“I’m thinking of taking some pictures of you. Like this, would that be okay with you?” She asked, showing me a naked woman hiding her chest with a white blanket.
“You want me to be naked for your pictures and sketches…?” You mumbled, feeling very shy just the thought of that.
“I know it’s very out of your comfort zone but I’ll make sure to cover your breasts, nudity, and private parts. Also, I’m in a group with other girls and my professor is a woman too.”
“I’ll think about it, Chaeng. I mean it’s your art project so I won’t reject it. And besides, this means a lot to you, so I don’t mind doing it.” You added, drinking your mango basil seed drink as Chaeyoung’s eyes sparkled with excitement.
“Yay! Omg, thank you Y/N! Unnie, you’re the best!” She exclaimed, putting her hands together and expressing her gratitude for you. “No problem, Chaeng girl. Let’s go shopping now.”
“I can show you a few of my sketches later,” she hummed as you nodded.
“By the way, thanks for the bento you made earlier, it was so delicious! Even the boys loved it!” Chaeyoung said, chuckling as she locked arms with you.
“Ehh? You didn’t eat lunch on campus?”
“Nope, I finished class early after I discussed my project with the professor.”
“Let me guess it was Mr. Suh and Mr. Lee?” You asked as she giggled, “what’s with you using honorifics, just call them by their names.” Chaeyoung said and smiled.
“But I don’t know them that well…” You muttered, looking at her. “Unnie, they consider you as their friend, the tall guy’s Johnny, and the slim guy’s Ten,” Chaeyoung explained as you looked at her. She was being honest and genuine. “But I don’t know how to talk to them… I’m not as cool as you are–”
“–Y/N, don’t doubt yourself so much! You’re amazing and so cool. I’m lucky to have you as my roomie.”
“What do you think?” You asked, wearing a black leather miniskirt for the first time. Chaeyoung whistled and smirked, “wow, Y/N-Unnie you look so fine! So pretty!”
“You think so? Isn’t the length a bit too short?” You said shyly, looking at the way the skirt was sitting on your butt while posing in front of the mirror.
“So what? You should definitely wear it for the party!”
You turned around looking at the mirror reflection and how the skirt looked on you. “I don’t know what to pair this skirt with… I mean I usually don’t wear anything above my knees…” You sighed as Chaeyoung massaged your shoulders, “don’t worry about it, Unnie. I’ll help you out, any outfit paired with your beauty is going to be perfect!”
“This sports bra or the other one?” Chaeyoung asked, holding a sports bra in each hand.
“Mhm, I really like the white one. It’ll look so nice on you.” You said, smiling.
“What should we eat for dinner tonight?” Chaeyoung asked, opening the refrigerator as she looked over at me.
“Mmh, I don’t know. What about Kimchi Jjigae?”
“Sure thing. Let’s do that, Unnie.”
“We can add small pieces of chicken breast,” You said, opening the refrigerator and pulling out a plastic bag with raw chicken.
“You seem to be in quite a good mood, Yuta.” Ten said, drinking some water. “Mhm. I do?” He asked, drawing some birds on a piece of paper. “Yeah, earlier you were sulking and frowning a lot, I’d figure you fought with Miyawaki?” Ten asked as he sighed, “we did, she ended up leaving earlier yesterday. I should call her and apologize.”
“Don’t you want to break off things with her for a change, Yuta?” Johnny asked, checking the cash register as they looked at each other. “I probably should, I mean Miya-chan is already in a relationship. I can’t be her second choice all the time she gets into a fight with him.”
“Apologize? For what exactly, Yuta?”
“I got mad at her for always calling me whenever she fought with Hisashi.” Yuta scoffed, drinking a sip from his water bottle.
“Hmm, you and Miyawaki only see each other once or twice a week right?”
“That’s right, I thought it was better to hook up with Miyawaki every night,” Yuta admitted, rubbing the back of his head. “I hate sleeping alone.”

Hey! I wanted to ask a couple questions in good faith re some of your recent about your trans journey if you're comfortable with it! Why use the word detransition to describe embracing feminity again (this one is personal I'm sorry but is this referencing a more physical change like stopping hormones or a mental shift?) and - re the post about binary trans was and TT - How do I get out of the mindset that trans is a reaction to cis-ness, like you can only be Really Trans it you're an afab person who is a masculine man, the "opposite" of societal expectations.
that's a very good question! i don't mind answering at all
we use the word detransition in relation to our transition to mean the severe re-tracking of our identity. we were forced to identify as a strictly binary cishet passing trans man for about 8 years of our life. we came out in 2011 as a genderqueer/nonbinary person stating "i'm not a guy or a girl, just a person", but the people in our life refused to acknowledge that and basically said if we were "truly" trans, we had to be a guy.
we leaned very, very hard into binary trans manhood as a result, because we needed to transition or we weren't going to make it. we dressed in very plain clothing, polos, t-shirts, slacks, jeans, nothing "fruity". if we got called too feminine we changed our look. very short hair. no makeup or accessories. he/him only. we lived at the gym and couldn't talk about any "cute" things, that kind of stuff, couldn't even talk about being attracted to men because that would "cancel out" our transness. we lived with cishet men at this time and for years, and they reinforced this behavior, because again, in order to be trans, we needed to be the manliest man possible
that behavior made me break in 2020 because while i'm a masculine person, i'm just not that. i couldn't handle it anymore and i finally had had enough after someone approached us saying "sir? ... ma'am?? ... i'm sorry, i can't tell." one of our headmates was at the dollar store and saw press on nails and grabbed some. we got a few other femme accessories and went home and got dolled up and felt more like ourselves than ever. we finally felt like ourselves again
the reason we use the word "detransition" for this journey is because there's a lot of steps involved when it comes to changing your identity and how it's perceived by others. i am actually referring to the steps i am taking backwards from being jammed into binary manhood, and how we have to reinvent our identity. we do identify as a trans man, but in a very complicated, dykey, nonbinary way and in referring to "detransition" we are talking about walking back toward the nonbinary male-adjacent person we were in the past
i am also transitioning into my femininity and womanhood as those have been denied from me my entire life as a very high T intersex person (which is why i identify as transfemasc or transfem + transmasc). transition can be multi forked it's not always a linear thing that only goes in one direction. i am a multigender system, i am not one person so i naturally experience multiple genders, and many of us are transitioning in different ways. but none of us are binary men, so we had to detransition from the transition we were forced into having by other people.
hope that clears that part up!
"How do I get out of the mindset that trans is a reaction to cis-ness, like you can only be Really Trans it you're an afab person who is a masculine man, the "opposite" of societal expectations."
a friend asked me this the other day, or something to that same effect. transness is not a reaction to cisness, it is a reflection of someone needing to be seen and heard, not to be told who we are. we have to transition because cis people force their view of how we should live on to us, it doesn't matter if a trans man is stereotypically masculine or not, telling them how to identify is as unproductive as telling a cisgender man they're not a man because their voice is high pitched. it doesn't make a difference at the end of the day, that man isn't cis as a reaction to being called feminine by others.
we are transitioning to live our happy lives. our transitions have nothing to do with anyone but ourselves. i think ppl get this idea in their heads that transitioning has to do with tricking people, or something, but it really is about that person, try just remind yourself to not make an individual's transition about everyone else around them (how they are perceived). let them be the authority & the expert on their identity, just as you would a cisgender person. is a cisgender person isn't being cis in reaction to transness, then it doesn't rly make sense to make the argument in the other direction.
hope that helps! sorry for the novel but i got kinda into it. take care, have a great day, stay safe out there

TW: discussion of trauma, mentions of a school shooting, me expressing my opinion loudly and unapologetically per usual
*sighs loudly*
*steps up on my (nonexistent) soapbox*
The way some of y’all talk about and invoke trauma so casually while arguing with strangers online is horrific. None of us is exempt from experiencing trauma in our life, so when you invoke trauma in an argument (other than to mention a warning/tag that should be added) what you’re actually doing is revealing yourself as a huge ass.
“Well how could you like [insert character here] they did [insert awful thing] to [insert another character here], you’re so ignorant to trauma”
No, you are. Would those words ever leave your mouth talking to someone in person? Then why do you feel so emboldened to say them online? Have you ever stopped to consider that someone else may see your words and feel deeply wounded or invalidated by what you said?
“Well [character]’s trauma isn’t that important compared to [other character]’s trauma”
Apples to oranges, trauma is not comparative and it is certainly not a competition.
“Well [character a] is awful because they treated [character b] this way, it doesn’t matter that they were traumatized.
Yeah absolutely that was awful and that character’s trauma does not serve as an excuse for their actions, no one’s trauma gives them license to treat others cruelly… that doesn’t stop it from happening frequently in stories and in real life. While I think it can toe a dangerous line of allowing people to excuse their actions as symptomatic of mental illness, I think it’s equally dangerous to label someone as entirely bad because that also gives them license to act according to that label.
Trauma is not a singular thing and the way people respond to trauma is entirely individual. Many many times peoples responses to trauma are not what they want them to be and it causes deep shame (speaking from personal experience), which certainly doesn’t help in the healing process. When people act from a place of pain they will sometimes pass that pain onto others, it is an awful and unavoidable consequence of being a person. Having that shame reinforced when you get online to go to a space of comfort and catharsis is unthinkable.
Part of my therapy modality (Acceptance & Committment or ACT therapy) is learning how to stop defining feelings/thoughts/actions/myself as good or bad because all those things are infinitely more multi-dimensional. Characters, people, actions are infinitely more complicated than one moment, one action, one season of their life.
When you label someone/something as bad and refuse to see the complexities of what formed and informed it, then you put a stopper on what it can become. When you do so in a public forum that others can see, and when you do it in a targeted, critical way, you’re probably unintentionally causing hurt. More than anything you’re demonstrating a commitment to misunderstanding people who have experienced trauma or struggled with mental health in a way that couldn’t be neatly tied up with a bow and packed away, as society loves to do with the traumatized and mentally ill. Especially when their symptoms are not considered socially acceptable.
And before anyone tries to come for me: if I can find a way to feel compassion for the person who shot up my university last year — despite the amount of pain and trauma they caused in a community that I love and hold dearly; despite the anguish and immense fear my friends, my family, my peers & I felt — then you can find a way to give some of these characters you hate so much a second glance before dismissing them so quickly.
TLDR: there’s no purpose in being an anti, go forth with kindness, and remember that when you’re talking about fictional characters on this app they will never read what you say about them, but real people are the ones reading and perceiving your words. When we can hold space for the multitude of experiences and traumas we have all had, we can heal from them. You’re never obligated to read a work that you don’t agree with, but you also don’t have to comment on it.

ABOUT VOX
Step out of line in this guy's path and he'll show you real quick who runs the show. On the outside he wears a persona of high class charm and enthusiasm, charisma being one of his strongest suits -- However those who know him know that he's completely different off camera than he is when they're on--
And those who know him well-- know that he's FAR from stupid and petty as he acts and wants to make people believe-- This guy has a vendetta, a score to settle and an ulterior motive that he keeps behind the scenes hiding it behind an array of a sassy argumentative nature. It's a display and it's working. You Get what you Give with this man about 3 fold-- Give him a pleasant composition-- he'll give you charm. Bark at him? He'll Bark louder-- and show you his bite. It won't take much. It's all about how you present.
"First impressions are everything~ Babe!"
So long as it doesn't interfere with him personally, or any of his people on the grand scheme of things of what he's working to accomplish-- Then he really doesn't care about what anyone else is up to because his only one goal is getting back on top to make the city his.
"Go Big~ Or Go Home!"
His relationship with Valentino is a complicated one-- but in the end-- he got played and he didn't take it well-- Marking Val at the top of his shit list. But he'll continue the show to hide his goals so that he goes by un-noticed and doesn't stand out-- AND that Val lands that much harder when Vox pulls the rug from beneath his feet
--allegedly-- (That's the plan, anyway weather it will actually come to fruition is hard to tell as he both loves this man-- and loathes him.)

he prefers this over actual intercourse. He would much rather use toys to get off and get them off-- however this doesn't mean he won't have sex OR that he doesn't enjoy it. He can manipulate electricity and vibrations from any part of his body (ANY part ;) ) and he definitely can and WILL use it.
*Teasing--
loves it. Giving and receiving. But especially giving!
*Voyeurism--
he loves watching and being watched doesn't bother him either~

*Gossip troll
Loves to talk shit and start shit. This is fun for him.
*Actually Follows Through on his Deals
Sure, he’s still a dick about it. He’s still a prick, he’s still a shit, an asshole-- BUT A deal is a deal and He won’t go back on his.
--Cares about his “merchandise”
As a Boss he will take the faults for his contractee’s when nessasary-

Earning at least SOME respect....though again--still very much an asshole.

Primarily with Gossip or fucking with their head.

Happy new year! If the adage is that you spend today doing what you want to for the rest of the year, then I want to keep reading and reccing some fics I’ve loved in the last little while!
So, here’s a mish-mash of multi-fandoms. As always, you can find my master rec collection here.
Ghosts (BBC)
And So On and So Forth by V_Evergreen
Dying is, of course, incredibly tragic. It is also the most wonderful opportunity.
Father of the Bride by EllianaDunla
Rachel Fawcett visits Button House to feel closer to her father.
Which happens, just not quite in the way she expects.
Project Chatterbox by SqutternutBosh
‘What’s this?’ Alison asks, looking down at the scrappy piece of note paper that Mike has just put down in front of her.
‘It’s a list of ways I can talk to them,’ Mike says, sitting down beside her at the kitchen table.
Raven Cycle
hold me tight, fear me not by audikatia for Northisnotup
When Adam stepped around, he found himself suddenly in an emerald glen of moss-covered trees. More blue roses scattered over the green ground like raindrops or tears.
And there, in the center, was a man pinned to a tree with an arrow through his heart. :: Tam Lin AU
Someone Worth Knowing by SprigsofViolets
Alex Claremont-Diaz and Adam Parrish meet on their first day at NYU. They do not hit it off—cue the academic rivalry. They hate each other until they learn to understand each other.
(I can’t tell you how many times I’ve re-read this one, esp as it hits two of my fave canons in all the right places)
since you've been home, see what you have become by Mici (noharlembeat)
Adam goes touring colleges, and Ronan comes along. And Opal, well. She stays with Declan.
***Greywaren spoilers for the below fics!***
There's No Place Like My Room by Lil_Redhead
Sometimes endings are endings, but sometimes they’re just middles and the real ending is very, very far away.
Or, the days between the last chapters and the epilogue of Greywaren
(This one is still a WIP with one chapter left to post, but it hits all the right notes of post-Greywaren + plot that I was craving after finishing the book)
god only knows (what i'd be without you) by RhymeReason
[Part of Gansey was starting to accept that two of his best friends were most likely dead.]
Or: gansey finds adam and ronan :)
and on the seventh day he rested by Prevalent_Masters
On the seventh day, the Lynch brothers discovered they were friends once more.
Or, the week following the (near) apocalypse.
Roswell New Mexico
Contigo me encontré by beautifulcheat (Katalyst), ladynox
The Lockhart House was once a home, although it was never a happy one. Steeped in tragedy, it still stands today, in the heart of Old Town Roswell, attracting ghost hunters and those seeking to catch a peak of something from beyond the veil.
Contrary to popular myth, it wasn’t currently haunted (except by one paranormally talented docent). It was Michael’s favorite job and the best part of his summer home from UNM. Or at least was until Alex Manes was hired to man the gift shop, complicating an otherwise fun and easy job.
With Love Overflowing by Nestra
"We both agree that this is not the place we belong, right? Please say yes."
Michael tossed his hat on the coffee table and dropped onto the couch. "If you mean that your dad's been dead since CrashCon and some kind of crazy shit is going on, then yeah, I agree."
(This one was for me for Secret Santa, it is just THAT GOOD that I want everyone in the world to read it)
Severance
r/severed by curtaincall for LearnedFoot
Welcome to r/severed! This is a subreddit to discuss the experience of severance and provide advice and support to fellow severed people (and friends and family).
Top Gun Maverick
we're fools to make war by whimsicule
In a Walmart at three am, between beef jerky and tortilla chips, with the lights flickering above them like it’s the fucking twilight zone, Bradley wants him more than he’s ever wanted anyone.
or: it's a hundred degrees in texas.
what doesn't kill me makes me want you more by ok_thanks
For Rooster to be his ex-boyfriend, that would require him to have been Jake’s boyfriend in the first place. Which he definitely wasn’t. He was – "Ex-something," Jake coughs. or, the intricate ritual of teasing the guy you've been hooking up with since college that you're definitely not in love with
Men Like Us by DancingDisaster
Seresin men love with reckless abandon. It’s put every man before him in the ground.
Jake refuses to be buried.

Hey! I had two questions concerning poetry- how do you get over the fear of it being too singular? And what if I’m too contradictory to write poetry?
I write for myself. Always have- mainly because I didn’t have anyone to share it with. But now I want to share it- and what if no one gets it? That’s not to say the events in my life are singular or even that the way I feel about them are. But. What if I don’t portray them in a manner that can be understood by other people?
Sometimes l'II write a poem and about sadness and it's like a brittle, bleached bone with a green stick fracture right in the center, and that's fine! That’s great! But what if sometimes I also feel with more flesh. More life. It's has fat and sinew, tissue and muscle! It's has breath! It's a wail, and rotting heart valve, and fist protesting death! It's both a two-step and a waltz- and sure they're both dances, but the steps don’t match and I’m tripping over my own feet. Nothing I feel is permanent- but I want to write something that is. And that feels impossible.
So. What do I do?
Hi Zoe! Thank you for your question. There's a lot here, so please pardon my long answer.
Firstly, I don't think there's such thing as being too contradictory to write poetry. Contradiction is part of human nature and allows us to be nuanced, multi-faceted people. Being "too contradictory" is only going to help you write poetry as complicated as humans are. I think of it as a strength and might actually recommend experimenting with leaning further into it and seeing what comes out.
On the other hand, I totally understand your fear of being misread or not understood by readers. I've been there! We can never really guarantee that our words will be interpreted as we meant them. I think it's really important to know who we're trying to be readable to and what our own intentions are (I ask myself both "what is this poem trying to say?" and "what is this poem trying to do?" and sometimes also "is this poem asking to be understood or just felt?"). Answering these questions can reduce some of your worry about not being understood because if you're writing to express emotion, for instance, it won't really matter if the reader understands every word of the poem as long as they get the right emotional impression. Plus, knowing who your audience is not can help you be neutral when readers you aren't writing to or for don't interpret your words the way you wanted.
Another thing to consider when we fear not being understood is how we're using specificity. Specificity can either create a really nuanced, expressive picture for readers or tie poems so tightly to our own personal experience that they become illegible to readers. If you worry about portraying your experiences and emotions in a way that others can understand, I'd always recommend checking that there are few to no specific details that require context about your personal life not on the page to understand. I'm always looking for this "missing context" in revision of my own poetry. I also think the practice of reading closely, practicing writing and revising, and seeking other people's reactions is incredibly helpful if this is a problem you think you might have.
In my experience, you also have to let go of the reins a little. I've realized that I sacrifice a lot of nuance and complexity when I work too hard to "guide" a reader's interpretation. Sometimes you just lose the parts of a poem that make it feel authentic and human when writing with fear of a potential reader's misunderstanding.
And finally, from your description of the two types of poems that you write (which was incredibly poetic by the way), I get the impression that you are working in form/content agreement. This is not a bad thing at all! Your poems are taking the shape of the emotional landscapes they're expressing, which can transport readers right into it. Readers will likely then understand the emotional truth of each poem because your technique has put them directly into it. And what is this if not a permanent impression of the emotions you were feeling and the experiences you were writing about?
So what do you do? Take a deep breath. Recognize you might be closer to where you want to be than you thought. You should write anyway. You should revise until you feel like you've done what you've imtented in a way that's accessible to the audience you select. You should share with people in that given audience and see what the response is. It might be quite rewarding.
I hope that helps!

AO3 Wrapped Writer Q's Part 3 of 3
The last batch. This was fun, and eye-opening too! :D
21. How many kudos in total did you get this year?
348, as of this writing. At a glance, it's the lowest I've ever gotten--but the catch is kudos are still counted long after the year is over. Fic that have been around longer are more likely to amass kudos over time. (And I did write a lot this year...)
(I decided not to answer the comment question because...well, it's a little of the above answer but also more complicated. See the last few questions under the cut for more.)
[I didn't do any collaborations or gifts this year; I want to keep track of things like Big Bangs and such more often though!]
26. What’s your most common category?
M/F, it looks like, with Multi close behind! I do plan to write more Gen next year though.
27. What do you listen to while writing?
Mostly white noise! I brainstorm while exercising and listen to a wide variety of genres then. ("Trailer music" like Two Steps From Hell or '80s ballads, for example.)
28. Favorite work you wrote this year?
Once again, I'm glad that this question is difficult. ;v; Do I say Poisoned Honey again, even though it's a WIP? What about Sweet Rain, Saltwater Rain, which felt like such a breakthrough? And then there's all the Touken Ranbu fic, and Belial/Djeeta...
Maybe I'll go with Charmed Lessons: Lewd Manipulation (GBF, Belial/Djeeta/Lyria)! It not only managed to be exactly the length I wanted from the start, the dark but still sexy twist managed to land. (Also it has Belial moonlighting as a caring senpai in it! XD)
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
>:3 OH BOY. This one's surprisingly easy, from Chapter 2 of Poisoned Honey (I could've quoted the whole scene):
"I mean it, Lucifer insisted, clasping his hands in ardent prayer. My equal, my Master, my King. Debase me. Reforge me. Teach me what I long to know."
30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?
Oh, boy. Where to even begin.
To start on the lightest possible note: sometimes I can, in fact, be at the tail end of a long fic and only realize in that moment "I should have just written this specific scene, even though I love all the other ones too". (Hi, In the Bedchamber...) This is why I write many chapters ahead now!
But that wasn't the biggest surprise, actually.
The biggest surprise to me this year: the realization that writing for myself-as-audience is still a goal I want, but at the same time I really do need dialogue with readers to feel fully satisfied.
I don't want to guilt people into anything, of course! Least of all something that's meant to be fun. But I'd be lying if I said it wasn't demoralizing to not have that dialogue, you know? I know the assumption is that writers just want praise, but personally I'd rather talk with readers about the fic and these characters we both love.
And for the record, I feel like you absolutely can "write for yourself as audience first with others second" and want to find like-minded readers at the same time. I think that balance is key, and I spent a long time without it this year. No joke, I even considered quitting altogether! (But that was probably the stress of tough courses talking...)
Who knows? Maybe next year will be better. Maybe I should change up how I ask for "feedback" and instead say "dialogue is appreciated"? It's a work in progress, as ever. ^^;
Anyway, here's to next year!

Hi! soulmate anon hereee . Thank you for reading it! yesss mc does find out about it but only after the incident happeens !! she's upset he didnt trust her enough to tell, but its about more than just him so she understands ! Soonyoung leaves because they were attacks and threats against their whole group , and he's one of the aurors , people in this au are out of college. So it's imprtant for him to be there. Buuuuut the whole time he's angry and he just wants to go back and be with mc :(((((( he struggles between his loyalty for his pack and mc :(( That's actually a recurring theme ! his pack is modern and doesnt believe in hierarchies, but they do have inborn traits of like omega and alpha etc .... And that becomes a problem with mc later on because she's not a natural ... I forgot to tell you ... but THIS STORY IS POLY I think ????????? we actually get got that far in the discussion ! but my friend's plan was to do a fic like the hp ones on ao3! those HUGEge fics that have many tropes in them . So this was hogwarts universe , abo , AND abo is naturally soulmate so there was a soulmate element too . Mingyu would always feel like mc is his soulmate too but he doesnt tell her or anyone because mc is with soonyoung . But in his heart he knows she's HIS and something is wrong ..... Later he does fight soonyoung about everything every step !!! he'll say he doesnt care when he leaves mc alone, and that he would never be selfish like that, he would help out mc if he could ! and once when theyre fighting , mingyu would storm away and mc would be in shock ... soonyoung asks what happened and mc would say that she could hear his heartbeat ... thats shocking because vampires dont have heartbeats! only mates can hear it aaaah. we never decided if it was gonna end as a poly au. Soonyoung is a werewolf and sharing goes against everything he knowssss. we thought that mingyu could be for angst, but THEN i read a taekook fic where jungkook is werewolf and taehyung is a vampire !!! it was poly and taekook are not interested in poly but they give in for mc :((((( but then i didnt discuss it with anyone until now so the story hasnt gone forward !!! once again thank you so much for readingg!! If you want to ask anything plssss do but not also i understand weuiuteito it's kind of all over the place
ALSO I READ AND REREAD PREV ANON'S ASK SO MANY TIMES that i zoned out while eating, thinking about it ! LOL . soonyoung in his QUIDDITCH GEAR IN THE LIBRARY ????????? and making her recite from her STUDIES ?!???! and then you said his hand is wrapped around her throat too , I can't breathe omg OMGGG . would he be so sweet to her right after ???? I always think of gryfinddor soonyoung as someone that will do dom things like this in the moment and then get shy about it iewrueiwiuro
Oof yeah I can imagine how complicated it gets when Soonyoung has other another half of his identity that he has to hide 💔 He's also so important to the pack ! He can't just let his responsibilities go
Omg there are a lot of tropes that y'all came up with !! The story sounds soo exciting. We love a good slow burn multi chaptered fic <3 Especially when it's a poly one too LOL. Mingyu and Soonyoung are always at the scene of the crime too ahah. Reminds me of the time Mingyu said he thought Soonyoung hated him during pre-debut days lkadjklsa. He's definitely someone to fear especially when it comes to dance practice (although Seungcheol might disagree. If he was in this universe, he would definitely be an alpha LOLL - that reminds me, are there any other members in this fic??)
I liked what you said about mc hearing Mingyu's heartbeat :0 that must have come as a big shock to all of them !! And have you thought about what event occurred for all of them to start getting along and starting a poly relationship??? Or have you two not gotten to that point because you mentioned that you thinkkk it's a poly story aha
Ahh !! In my HP au, I always imagined that Soonyoung and mc are both switches, but it's so difficult when I love my male doms lol. I'm subby by nature, so it just happens that mc acts in the same way I do. I can't help it !!!! I'm projecting my fantasies
Soonyoung is typically very sweet and romantic in bed, but when mc misbehaves or riles him up, he has no choice but to flip his switch !!! After they have a rough session, Soonyoung would definitely get shy in retrospect. He checks up on her constantly and wonders if he really did that aha. It's the duality for me !

WebinarX AI Review: My Recommendation
WebinarX is a strong choice for individuals and organizations seeking a user-friendly and feature-rich video conferencing platform. Its intuitive interface, high-quality video/audio, and lead generation potential make it ideal for those looking to engage audiences, generate traffic, and establish thought leadership. However, consider your budget and feature needs as the free plan may not suffice for all, and established platforms might offer more integrations. Ultimately, WebinarX is worth exploring, especially for those seeking a user-friendly platform that can contribute to audience growth and traffic generation.

it was as he started working for antown that he grew curious about the world of politics which only made him want to pursue something greater. this only led to him being involved in a scandal that ended up tarnishing his reputation and he had no choice but to leave something he knew so well, thus living a quieter life that took him from washington to london. somewhere he felt more at peace while finding a new path for himself.

elias witlock || 23 || bisexual || the president's son || elias was born into a life of wealth and corruption that controlled the way a colony on the outskirts of the capitol should live. while they had to work to make it through life while being subjected to hybrid creatures known as nomads and guards who control every step they make, elias had a much easier lifestyle that the colonists resented people like him for. being the son of the president meant elias had little freedom to do as he pleased and he often would fight with his father about the state of the colony in which he'd reside just to escape the isolation of the capitol. hoping that by doing so, he might be able to show that he's not as terrible as his father and just wants to help those who are suffering. || fc: tom blyth
wyclef || 1000 + / physically 35 || homosexual ( closeted ) || the traveling elder || being among the top ranked elders in the fae realm due to his knowledge of more magic than others have been able to master, wyclef found himself tasked with great responsibilities shortly after finishing his training. starting as a mentor until he was twenty, he soon aspired to be an elder who'd put his ability to travel through time to good use which eventually would lead him to go from the realm he calls home to other realms & time periods to right what has been wronged & help any fae he may come across along the way. || fc: jonathan bailey

anwir || 35 || bisexual || the wayward fae || born with the promise of being among the best fae who could excel to be a mentor or part of the elders, anwir did well in his training as he wanted to do the best he could in life. that is until he began to crave more power than he was capable of & began seeking out what no fae ever should. it was as he fell in love with a mortal named charlie that he began to get involved in dark magic which soon got out of control before he could properly handle it. it was as he tried to hide his new magic from charlie that the man died & anwir only got deeper into dark magic where it fully consumed him, making it hard to recognize the man anwir used to be before he spiraled into darkness. || hale appleman

harry parker || 35 || bisexual || the lost fae || despite thinking he was nothing more than a young man living in the city of new york who happened to be a college professor, harry was in fact a successful fae who was once a part of a completely different realm where he lived until he was sent to live among the mortals where his memories of his past were wiped over time. with his interest in magic & fantasy that he recalled having fading away, he allowed himself to believe that such things were not real & would remain in his solitude where he felt most comfortable until discovering the truth about his existence. || fc: jason ralph
micah langston || 40 || bisexual || the colony bartender || micah is among the others who live a dystopian colony that is filled with corruption & danger at every turn. while most would just go about their duties & keep their heads down in fear of alerting the guards, micah takes on a different approach & tries to keep as optimistic as possible. some people find his outgoing personality weird in such a negative place, but for someone who's been through his own hardships, micah chooses just to focus on the few good things he has left than the bad that could send him spiraling into a bad place.
among the good things is a tavern he owns within the colony that is perhaps the only real uplifting thing about such a gloomy place. located where the guards don't usually frequent, he's able to put aside his worries while he works & make friends with those who find his charm to be endearing. what no one knows about the man is his dark past that included the supposed demise of his girlfriend & their son which left him on his own.
while he'd only disclose such information to those he trusts, he bears both mental & physical scars of the darker parts of his life. regardless of what might have happened to him, micah helps out where he's needed & does his best to keep those around him from getting into trouble that he knows all too well is not something he'd wish on anyone given the scar on his neck that came from an attack from the guards whom he found out the hard way are not there to protect the colonists as many would claim. || fc: sacha baron cohen
nicolas shaffrer || 25 || bisexual || the politic's son || being the adopted son of olivia shaffer whose leak of the thompsons' personal information, nicolas found himself in the mess of a scandal that he had no part in. always preferring to avoid the world of politics that he was brought into when adopted as a child, he preferred just to live his own life while going to school & finding ways to pretend he's not someone that seems to always be watched because of his mother being so well known. his outgoing nature becoming more introverted over time as he wanted to keep his own scandal from occurring, a feeling that only intensified during the events of the scandal that made him distance himself from his mother even more as he resented her decision to do what she did to people whom nicolas had long since started to respect. || fc: taylor zakhar perez
draco || age unknown / turned at 35 || pansexual || the vampire with a heart || having always been one to charm those he felt an attraction to before being turned when on the brink of death, draco would become notorious with other vampires he'd meet for believing that a vampire could ever love when they are are meant to be bloodthirsty killers. it was something he soon learned to use as a way to lure unsuspecting men & women to use them as a way to feed or turn into vampires when the urges grew too strong to ignore. with half of his memory gone from the early years of his life as a vampire, he's been unable to recall times spent with others he met after being turned. one of whom being another vampire named tobias whom he'd reunite with to learn about his broken past & relearn the bond they once had. || fc: jonathan bailey

Free space!
Use this space to tell us about your favourite characters, fandoms, or ships!
I'll gladly take this free space, please and thank you 👍
Favoirite Fandoms: Danganronpa (also fangans like DRA/DRA2, Shattered Hope, Despair Time, Eden's Garden, Coward's Paradise, Lapse) Master Detective Archive: Rain Code, Sonic the Hedgehog, Undertale/Deltarune, Zero Escape and Your Turn to Die.
•Basically any horror, (murder) mystery, death/killing game, adventure, multi-ending or/and choice based you can think of! I started off with Undertale, Fnaf and Ddlc, fell into Ace Attorney, got abducted by Danganronpa and then dragged off to the place of no return from there. I was literally afraid of most of these games at first, but they got me stepping out of my comfort zone and discover what kinda media Iike. Now I'm stuck here. It's great tho XD
Favourite characters: Shadow the hedgehog, Sans (Undertale), Susie/Kris (Deltarune), Sou Hiyori (yttd), Ashley/Andrew (Tcoaal), Yuma (rain code), Nagito/Hajime, Sayori (ddlc), Vi (arcane), Yuki/ Sora/Teryua/Shobai/Iroha, Basil (Omori), Stan Pines (gravity falls), Santa/June (zero escape)
•Favourite characters for me range usually range from morally grey/complicated to downright irreemably evil to entertaining to sweet innocent cinnamon roll that has done nothing wrong. Most times it's the morally grey characters that are good people but do bad things not because they want to, but because they have to. Or when they've been beaten down and traumatised before and puts on an act and bares their worst to never be hurt or have to relive it all again. Or when they do bad things for good reasons and vis virsa! Or all of the above. An antagonist that could've been the protagonist in a different setting. Someone relatable yet troubled whose actions you can recognise as bad but then wonder what you would've done if you were in their shoes. When they die they get me the most, I won't lie. Other morally grey characters for me are the ones who are shady, sketchy, sleazy. Those who act all friendly and smile easily but you can tell that there's something sinister and off behind the facade, but you can't place your finger on what. They do shady things behind your back or in plain sight and you don't even realise until you look back on it. If not them, then there's no predicting on who it would be. They have to suffer a lot tho. If they're not doomed by the narrative how am I supposed to cry over them and regret ever getting attached and then cling to every fanart/fanfiction of them I can find (characters I mentioned I'm looking at you--)?
Favourite ships: Komahina/Sondam (dr2), Keisou/Soushin/Naoreko (yttd), Teru(kinjo)rei/Yukisora/Shobai x Sora/Iroha x Shobai (dra/dra2), Junepei/Seven x Lotus (zero escape), knuxrouge (sonic), sunflower (omori), Gravecest (tcoaal), Dipcifica (gravity falls), Vi x Caitlyn (arcane), Jesse x Jane (breaking bad), Diane x Bojack/Bojack x Sara lynn (Bojack horseman)
•No consistency to find here. At all. I love, love dark, unhealthy dynamics between characters that draw me into their orbit but then there's also the healing, tender relationships that make my heart melt. The ones where love didn't fix or change anything, but was still there. Then foils and enemies to lovers, that constant push and pull and mutual rivalry bordering on hate while there exists that romantic undertone underneath it all, waiting to see who'll be first to act on it. The developing ones, the 'not quite there yets'. And last but not least the 'will they won't they' where you wish they never will. As you can see, my taste in ships is all over the place but these are definitely my favourite ship formats!
Anyway, I love Danganronpa another and the Kisaragi Foundation trio so your blog is an absolute treasure to me ^-^ Thanks for the ask and the opportunity to ramble!

Fox and Chick: Chapter 1
Hanzawa Masato has changed since his high school days. No longer feeling the pressure to be the best of the best, he has decided to let off some steam now that he's in college. However, with that decision comes some complications. He needs to find a way to keep more complications from happening while still managing his carefree days. Enter Tashiro Gonzaburou. Will Tashiro be able to keep Hanzawa entertained long enough to keep more complications from rising? Or will things get even more complicated than before?
“Today is finally the day!” Tashiro Gonzaburou, cried out, racing ahead of his friends and spinning around to flash the victory sign at them.
“What are you talking about?” One asked.
“Wait, did you finally get the date with that cute girl in our seminar?” The other asked.
“No, no, no,” Tashiro shook his head and waggled his finger in time. “Today is the day… the ping-pong club is holding their first party!” He cried out. His friends gave a dull round of applause as he continued, “After spending my high school career in the ping pong club, I was forced into the captain position after the previous captain had to step down… I thought for sure I would never be able to have fun lightheartedly again but… but… the club here is so great! It has cute girls, the drinking parties are legendary, and it has cute girls!”
“What is it with him and girls?”
“He went to an all boys school for high school,”
“Ah,”
“Now, after studying my butt off I’m finally here and I can party and play ping pong as much as I want without that demon captain breathing down my neck that I’m slacking off! Three cheers for college life!”
***
Tashiro arrived outside the venue and took a deep breath. I can do this. Starting right after you pass through those doors, you are no longer Tashiro Gonzaburou, the guy who couldn’t talk to girls. You are Tashiro Gonzaburou who can talk to girls! “Okay!” Eyes blazing, Tashiro pushed open the doors and was immediately greeted by a loud cheer.
“Hey it’s the first year!”
“Eh? He’s cute!”
“Another pitcher over here, please!”
Tashiro eyes sparkled as he looked around the room. The club must’ve rented out the whole place, it was packed with students he had recognized from the first meeting. It was more people than he had been expecting for a ping-pong club though…
“Yo, Tashiro-kun!” The second year that had helped him sign up caught Tashiro’s eye and waved him over. Tashiro gladly joined him and he was immediately surrounded on all sides. “Introductions, introductions.”
“Yes! I’m Tashiro Gonzaburou, a first year in the Economics department! I joined this club because I love ping-pong! Nice to meet you all!” Tashiro introduced himself loud and proud and the end of his speech was met with applause.
“What other sports do you like?” One of the girls asked.
“Hmm…” Tashiro thought about it for a moment, “I’ll play anything but ping-pong is what I’m best at.”
“So you aren’t going to play any of the other sports?” The second year asked.
“Other sports?” Tashiro repeated, cocking his head.
“Oh, c’mon. You didn’t join just for ping-pong.” He said but when Tashiro continued to give him a blank smile he realized he wasn’t joking. “You do know this is a multi-sport club, right?”
“Really?!” Tashiro went wide eyed.
One of the other girls laughed, “Really. The original founders of the club just wanted to create a space where people could get together and play sports even if they weren’t athletic. It’s developed into this huge club where if people have a specific sport they want to play – like bowling or ping-pong – they can and if they’re good enough they can go to competitions and stuff. But if you want to play like soccer or basketball or even baseball just casually you can without worry.”
“It’s a nice easy going club, but if you have something you’re good at you can just focus on that.” The second year said.
“Huh…” Tashiro nodded along. He hadn’t been paying much attention when he had signed up. He just asked the nearest senpai if there was a ping-pong club and had been directed to the table. He didn’t look into it much and just signed up. That being the case though, all these people here makes a lot more sense. “Are any of the other groups good?”
“Yeah! The bowling team has won quite a few small competitions in the past.”
“What about the ping-pong team?”
“Well…” The second year shared a glance with his friends. “They weren’t that good honestly… in fact they were really bad to the point where people didn’t even want to play it even casually… but last year, we got this crazy strict person to join. They totally turned the team around, like magic! Thanks to them, the ping-pong team actually won some super important competitions last year and brought in a bunch of prizes and money.”
Another guy picked up the story, “Now the whole school knows our club and thanks to that person, we have more first years joining than ever!” He leaned close to Tashiro and said in a whisper, “A lot of really beautiful girls even joined just because that person brought so much to the table.”
“Wow… who is this person?” Tashiro asked his senpais.
“Um… they decided to be the vice captain of the team, right?”
“Not the captain?”
The second year shook his head, “They said they didn’t want to be captain yet. Said that it was too much with them just being a second year.”
“They’re only a second year and they’ve already done that much for one section of the club?” Tashiro asked and everyone nodded. “Wow…” That guy must be crazy talented.
“That’s enough about that. This is a welcoming party. So, let’s party!” Another loud cheer erupted throughout the room, this time with Tashiro joining in. Laughter, food, beer and drinks passed all around as everyone began to settle in and let loose. Tashiro didn’t have a lot of experience talking to girls, let alone ones who were older than him, but thanks to his senpais, he was able to jump into conversations without many problems.
“Hey, Tashiro-kun, is this your real hair?” One of the second year girls asked with a slight slur to her words. She reached across the table to lightly tug at his hair.
“No, it’s dyed.”
“Heeeh… what’s your normal color?”
“Hmm… a lot darker than this?” He said, pulling at his own hair to get a better look. “It’s like a dark brown. In high school I actually dyed it blonde but when I joined the ping-pong team I was told I couldn’t have dyed hair.”
“Did you dye it back?”
“No, I let it grow! They couldn’t complain if it wasn’t all blonde. But when I took my exams my mom made me get a hair cut and dye it back. She didn’t care what I did with it after I got into my school of choice though, and I didn’t really want to do blonde again so I just chose a lighter color instead.”
“If your hair is that dark, this dye job is really well done.” The girl next to him said. She leaned over a bit and sniffed the air around him, making him tense up and blush to his ears. “You don’t even smell like any dye!”
“Um…”
“Tashiro-kun, why are you blushing! You haven’t even drank anything yet!” The third year on his other said, slurring his words harshly.
Thankful for the distraction, Tashiro turned to him, “Senpai! You know I’m underage!”
“Oh, it’s fine!” He said, pushing a glass of overflowing beer into his hands. “I won’t tell anyone if you won’t,” He slurred, giving Tashiro a sloppy wink.
Tashiro laughed nervously and glanced at the beer in his hand. Just one little sip wouldn’t hurt… right? He thought, and slowly brought the glass to his lips.
Before the liquid even had the chance to enter his mouth, the glass was taken out of his hands, “Alright. I think that’s enough.” A voice said lowly next to his ear.
“Huuuhh?!?!” The third year drunkenly turned to see the person who had taken the drink and immediately went pale.
“Senpai? What’s wrong…?” Tashiro asked and also turned. He felt all the blood drain from his face as he turned around and saw, “Hana… zawa… sen… pai…?”
“Hm?” Hanzawa looked down and Tashiro felt a shiver run down his spine. He would never forgot that parted hair or those fox like eyes… when he would smile rather than make you feel some sort of comfort it would make you feel a sense of dread like never before.
“Oh my,” Hanzawa stared at him for a moment before giving him his classic smile that made Tashiro tense up. “It seems this party was worth coming to after all."
***
“Masato-san, I really like you! Please… please go out with me!”
“Sorry but my answer is no,” Hanzawa Masato said with a soft smile and a tilt of his head.
“But-”
“No,”
“I-”
“No.” Hanzawa said again. He had the same smile on his face as before but somehow… his tone…. The girl froze for a moment before lowering her head and scurrying away. Hanzawa sighed and returned to his table.
“That was rough to watch,” Hirano Taiga, a friend and classmate from his high school days, said as Hanzawa took his seat again.
“I was as gentle as I could be,” Hanzawa said with a sigh.
“I don’t get how you’re so popular, man.” Hirano scoffed.
“Well, it’s not like those girls go into it knowing nothing. They agree to a set of rules when we start,” Hanzawa explained lightly.
“Rules?” Hirano asked, ignoring the feeling in his gut that said he shouldn’t ask.
“Yes. See, in order to make sure things stay fun and stress free, I create a set of rules. Rule number one is, don’t expect me to like you back. Rule number two is, we can stay together as long as it’s fun (for me).” Hanzawa said, counting the rules out on his hand, “The third rule isn’t so much a rule as it as a label on the relationship itself. I am simply looking for a partner to have some fun and release stress. It’s purely physical.”
“And these girls agree to that?”
“Oh yes, they’re more than okay with it at first. But, inevitably, they always end up thinking it’s something more and try to push the boundary further. I suppose I should admit, a small group of them are perfectly okay with it just being a physical thing and in fact have other friends in which they do the same thing.”
Hirano groaned, “I don’t know why I asked.”
“I had to play the perfect honors student throughout my high school years and even before that, Hirano-san.” Hanzawa said. “College is just a good place to let a little loose after all,”
“Agree to disagree,” Hirano said with another sigh.
“But I must admit, it is becoming a problem.”
“How so?”
“It seems like more and more girls think they’re on some type of pedestal, higher than the rest and therefore have the right to become my lover.”
“So?”
“I’m not quite sure how to stop this from happening.”
“Have you thought about getting an actual partner?” Hirano asked and Hanzawa frowned.
“How would that help? That would defeat the whole purpose of my attempts at trying to keep a casual relationship.”
“Well think about it, if you got an actual partner wouldn’t the girls who are looking for that type of relationship with you back off? And I wouldn’t think it would change anything for the ones that don’t care.”
“Hmm… so you’re saying get a decoy lover? Someone I can play the part with that wouldn’t take it too seriously from the start?”
Hirano closed his eyes and let out a long sigh, “Sure.”
“I suppose I could… but who would there be to ask?” Hanzawa mulled it over. “I couldn’t possibly ask another girl. The possibility that they take it seriously is high. Plus, I wouldn’t want put an unsuspecting girl through the harassment some of the more persistent ones are likely cause…”
“Um… Hanzawa-san?” A quiet voice broke through his stupor.
“Hm?” Hanzawa and Hirano turned and saw a group of rather skittish looking students at their table side.
“Um, you know how we’re having that party for the first years?” One of them asked.
“Party…? Oh, for the multi-sport club. Yes?”
“We were wondering if you would show up…?”
“Oh… well…”
“Just go,” Hirano said, kicking him lightly under the table. “It’s possible you could find the answer to your solution there, after all.”
“Hmm… I suppose you’re right. It’s certainly worth a shot, at the very least. Okay,” He gave the group a smile. “I can show my face at least.”
“Great!” They beamed at him. “We’ll send the info in the group chat. See you there!”
Hanzawa waved them goodbye and turned back to Hirano who was giving him a skeptic look. “Yes?”
“You came up with a solution, didn’t you?”
“Why yes, I did. If I can’t ask a girl to help me… then why not ask a guy instead?”
“Are you really okay with that though?” Hirano asked with a frown.
“It doesn’t really matter for this. If I ask guy for assistance, it’s more likely for me to reach my ultimate goal anyway. The persistent ones most likely won’t mess with a guy and if the girls who wish to start a relationship with me see with another male, they’ll probably back off as well. Add onto the fact that you are correct about the ones who didn’t care from the start most likely not minding either way, finding a male partner to play lovers with is the best option. Oh, would you look at the time? I’m going to be late for my next class.” Hanzawa began to gather up his things.
He waved to Hirano and left for his class, leaving Hirano to slump into his chair, “Good luck to the poor soul that has to play along with that crazy bastard…”
***
By the time the day of the welcoming party arrived, Hanzawa-san had completely forgotten. Between lectures, work and his ‘dates’ it had completely slipped his mind. It wasn’t until he had already said goodbye to his ‘date’ did he think to check his phone. He saw several messages from his club mates asking him when he was going to show up.
“Oh my… I had forgotten all about this. Let’s see… oh, it’s remarkably near by.” Hanzawa followed the directions and was quickly led to an izakaya style restaurant. He could hear the chaos from inside just by simply being near the door. Well… aren’t they lively?
He put on his best smile and opened the door. He was greeted by a roar of noise. A quick glance around the room showed that his club mates were well into the evening. Some were passed out face first on the tables, others were harassing first years. The sober ones that were left were trying to get everyone under some semblance of control.
His attention was drawn to a table towards the back corner of the room. A clearly flustered (most likely first year) club member was between a somewhat drunk second year girl and a very drunk third year. Hanzawa realized that aside from the girl sitting across from the three, every other person at that table was either passed out drunk or in the middle of something else. He sighed and made his way over.
“… I’m underage!” The flustered club member cried. Hanzawa realized at this point it wasn’t a boyish girl but rather, an actual boy.
“Oh, it’s fine!” The third year said, pushing a glass of overflowing beer into his hands. “I won’t tell anyone if you won’t,”
The boy laughed nervously and Hanzawa would see him wavering. After a few moments hesitation, he slowly brought the glass to his lips. Hanzawa quickly leaned over and took the glass of beer from him before he could take a drink.
“Alright, that’s enough of that.” Hanzawa said lowly, trying not to let his anger bubble over. A fun party where the first years had a few sips was fine as long as they weren’t being forced into it. Hanzawa wasn’t going to forgive anyone – even a senpai – for forcing someone else to drink.
“Huuuhh?!?!” The third year drunkenly turned to face Hanzawa and was met with his cold glare. The third year froze and went pale.
“Senpai? What’s wrong…?” The boy asked and turned around. “Hana… zawa… sen… pai…?”
“Hm?” Hanzawa glanced down. Oh. Tashrio Gonzaburou, his adorable underclassman from his high school days gazed back at him. Hanzawa felt his face break out into a grin. “Oh my, it seems this party was worth coming to after all.”
If you enjoyed that, you can read the full thing here! This is one of my favorite stories I've written (it's actually the first one I ever wrote for the Sasamiya fandom). I just love Tashiro and Hanzawa together, Idk I think they bounce well off each other. They're both my favorite characters aside from Sasaki and Miyano, I love them so much.

A landing page creator that certainly gives excellent result
Tumblr media
Maybe you’ve started thinking about getting a landing page creator (or finding a better one if you’re already using one of the many options floating around the market). If you’re a beginner, a landing page creator makes it fast and easy to create all the landing pages you need – no techie skills required. And if you’re a seasoned pro who’s already created dozens of landing pages, then you probably like the idea of creating them faster than ever with just a few clicks of your mouse. But heads up… Not all landing page are created equally. There are quite a few of them on the market, but with just a tiny bit of research you can quickly eliminate just about all of them. So, let’s find out what you should be looking for in a landing-page creator (and then you’ll find out our top recommendation). Ask yourself these questions… Who Created It? As mentioned, quite a few landing page creators aren’t all that good. Here’s why: many of these landing page creators were built by web designers. Sounds like that wouldn’t be a bad thing, right? Here’s the problem: Web designers know how to create “pretty” landing pages. But a pretty landing page doesn’t always convert into subscribers. That’s why you need a landing page creator that was built by marketers who understand both the aesthetic and marketing side of the equation when it comes to landing pages. Then you’ll have a page that’s both pretty AND effective. What Features Are Included? What separates the average landing page builder from the extraordinary builders are the extra features. You don’t want something bloated and complicated by dozens features you’ll never use, nor do you want something barebones. Instead, you want to look for a builder that has the essential features such as: - The ability to insert video backgrounds. - Built-in stats so you can track performance. - Multi-step optins so you can show people a page or demo first before asking for the optin. - Attention-getting features such as animated forms. - Standard features such as the ability to create triggered pop ups. - Fast page building (it should only take two or three minutes). - Page cloning so that you can save your own templates and create new pages even faster. In short, look for a builder with features that even power users will love, yet it’s easy enough for beginners to use too. Next… Is It User Friendly? The next thing you need to consider is whether the average person can use the landing page builder.  Do you need to download and install anything on your own site? Is the builder itself intuitive and “point and click” easy? If a builder isn’t user-friendly and easy, cross the builder off your list. You shouldn’t need a degree in rocket science to run a page builder. Do the Pages Look Good? People do judge your offer by your landing page, so you need to make sure it makes a great impression within seconds. Does the page look polished and professional? Does is reflect well on your offer? What is Involved in the Home Selling Process?
Tumblr media
Selling a home is not easy and it can be even harder if you need to sell house fast in New Jersey. You will need to get your home ready, host open houses, find buyers, go through inspections and appraisals, and cross your fingers hoping nothing falls through. Since the process is so complicated, some people prefer to go with cash buyers New Jersey.
This article will review what’s involved in the home selling process so you can determine how you want to handle your move.
Getting the Home Ready
The first step in the home selling process involves getting the home ready. You will need to address necessary repairs. You should also do a deep clean and declutter.
If the home has too much of a personal touch, you will need to ‘depersonalize’ it. For example, if you have pink walls and an orange couch, you may want to paint the walls white and cover the couch for the showings.  This kind of ‘blank slate’ look will help buyers envision themselves in your space.
Find an Agent
Some people prefer to sell their homes without the help of an agent. This allows them to keep more of the home’s profits. However, most sellers will get an agent’s help as they can assist in finding buyers, negotiations, and other aspects of selling.
Host Open Houses
Once the home is on the market, you will need to host open houses, typically once a week. Agents often want the sellers out of their home during open houses as they may make potential buyers feel uncomfortable asking certain questions. So basically, as a seller, you’ll need to find something to do for a few hours every week while the open house takes place.
Go Through Inspections, Appraisals, and Negotiations
With any luck, you’ll find a buyer quickly. But the journey isn’t over. You must go from there to get inspections and appraisals. If something comes up during inspections, such as a major repair you didn’t know about, the buyer may negotiate for a lower price, or they may back out of the deal.
The same could happen if the home appraises for lower than the selling price. And there’s always a chance that the buyers financing could fall through for any reason.
If the seller doesn’t work out, you will need to start the process all over again.
How Long Does the Home Selling Process Take?
It typically takes 30-45 days to close on a home. However, there’s no saying how long it will take to find a buyer. There are several factors that affect how long your home will stay on the market including the state of the market, the condition of your home, and the price you are selling for.
Sellers will usually have a six-month contract with their agent. If the home doesn’t sell within six months, the seller will need to consider taking the home off the market and relisting it at a future date. If they leave it up, it has the risk of going stale and attracting no buyers.
As you can imagine, this process can be impossible for someone who needs to sell house fast in New Jersey. It also makes it difficult if you are moving to a new house. If you that’s the case, and you are unable to sell your old home, you may find yourself paying for two properties at the same time.
