What is this?
This is a library of nonspeaking people writing, creative work, and how we share our experiences over time. The full library might be on a Google document, or merge with a toolkit others are making aim at parents of nonspeakers, or post on a separate website. I am still figuring it out! This Tumblr blog is a way for me to figure out a tag system so it is easier to sort by category. I’ll try to include an excerpt that captures the ‘meat’ of a resource in case it gets deleted or you aren’t able to access it somehow. Each resource will be posted separately and tagged with all the things it could apply to. I will have a ‘table of contents’ that lists all the tags soon. And an author and subject index.
This is a living document. Things will be added to it as I read more from my kin and as we keep showing our words and selfhoods to the world. If you have ideas for links to add to this document, please message or send a ask! It may take a while because of my disabilities and time constraints but I will get it uploaded.
A few notes
1. Not everyone I include here would describe themselves as nonspeakers. Not everyone might fit the group most usually called nonspeakers. However it mostly includes writing by nonspeaking autistic people who use partner assisted methods to communicate. That is my own experience but I am trying to add people with a bigger range of disabilities. I am using the biggest and broadest definition of nonspeaking here. It includes other groups like: minimal and unreliable speaking people, people who can use speech sometimes but not always, people who identify as nonverbal instead of nonspeaking, nonspeaking people who are not autistic, and AAC users who do not call themselves nonspeaking. I am not saying all of these experiences are the same thing but I am seeking to put them all in conversation and arrange them in mosaic over time instead of staying siloed off.
2. Some of these links will be written by people who are not nonspeaking, but I still think people should read to understand our lives. I am centering our voices, so I will tag #speaking author and tag the the role they have in our lives (parent, professional, speaking or semispeaking disabled person, researcher, ect). In order to represent people whose best communication is not through words, I will sometimes include links by parents and others who know a nonspeaking person well, who talk about their communication in deep and respectful and curious ways, not by putting it as sad or lesser. If you have issues with a resource I post that is wrote by a speaking person, please let me know.
3. Please do not use my resources to argue about labels for different communication disabilities. Please do not use it to argue about what the people I post from call themselves, whether it is right or not. I will not be hosting any debates here.

Six impossible things before breakfast
Little twist with sentient twst au, yes, I didn't expect this either. Masterlist with more works here
Tumblr media
We've probably all heard the joke about "How many light bulbs does it take to (insert whatever)." Who would have thought that you would use a slightly modified version of it: how many more coincidences must happen to realize the truth.
Although can anyone really blame you for not wanting to admit that you are a bunch of colored pixels created purely for entertainment purposes? No, it even sounds nice. After all, your purpose was to create extras, a stage on which the main characters performed and shone. Those who had faces.
Did you always have yours? Could you always see it in the mirror in the morning?
Did figurative shivers run down your spine every time a faceless classmate addressed you? One of ten, hundreds, exactly the same. Have the main bunch had the same problem? That's the question you'd been asking yourself lately. Did they shrug off empty, replaceable shells, or at least for a second consider them their equals?
Perhaps the question should have been asked differently. Was this in the order of things for them, because the thought of the incorrectness of worldly norms did not flash through their heads. Or it was something simple and very banal - they did not realize that they were part of the game.
Were you special? The thought was flattering, but it was stupid to start turning up your nose. Maybe the supreme programmer, like the smart guys from Ignihyde, could consider you a virus, a bug, an annoying nuisance, which can be gotten rid of in a couple of seconds. Click and that's it, your file would be deleted.
The idea that death could be more than just literal took you by surprise.
It all started with a strange feeling of déjà vu, with a strange cyclical nature of what was happening. How the seasons did not change according to the laws of nature or, on the contrary, lasted longer than expected. Sometimes you wondered what month was going on, at least by counting. Or how you couldn’t say with certainty what year of study you were in. When was your graduation? Would it ever come?
How many times did the main characters celebrate their birthday? How many times had you celebrated it? Did you celebrate it from the start?
Lessons
Breaks
Exams
Holidays
Lessons
Was there an end to this merging stream of eternal students? Was the dormitory assignment ceremony that important? How many real “first-year students” were admitted each year? Why couldn't your educational journey end? Time adjusted and obeyed an invisible force; it existed only when it was convenient for someone.
Catching the attention of the local spotlight and getting on stage was the best way to get labeled as a "bug" and ask to be removed. However, the main threat was only the erasure of memory.
The next discovery was doubt about one’s own “specialness.” When consciousness had nothing to do, it began to cling to different details, trying to look for differences in a series of events repeated in the film.
When you knew what to look for, small mistakes that were not noticeable at first glance stand out more than usual. A slight shadow of boredom on the faces of the main ones. Lack of interest in the educational process and exams. As if only one “exam” was important in a bunch of exactly the same events. When the first years of Heartslabyul signed a contract with Ashengrotto.
With new information in mind, it became easier to identify important “events” and track time based on them. By how many times they were repeated in the endless flow of time. Taking notes and somehow recording data was more dangerous than you thought, all that was left was to come up with methods known to you alone. For example, in a dorm room on the bedside table there was a cluster of glasses, each containing specific color of pencils.
Did your roommates start to think you were weird and obsessed with order and cleanliness? Their right. You didn't care what they thought, besides, they would forget about it with the coming of a new day.
In order not to completely go crazy, you began to peer into the “faces” of other students, trying to spot at least a feature that distinguishes one from another. Either this world was too lazy, creating copy after copy in every dorm, or there was no point in trying. If you somehow came to terms with the feeling of the meaninglessness of what was happening, then the appearance of one student in several places at the same time still caused rejection.
Disgusting
If this world was someone’s experiment, then why were events cyclical? If this was a cage, then where was the exit. If this was a prison, then who was being held in it?
You made a mistake in observing a person without magic from another world. Trying to figure out whether Yuu's "world" was truly different or just as much a part of predestination as everything around. Was “Yuu” really the main one or just an extra? You could have sworn they didn't have a face. At least such clear features as all the main ones. Just as there was no character, how in each of the repeating events they could behave differently.
It was a breath of fresh air in the routine of never-ending study. The watching of the only part capable of changing in the world, subject to the same rules.
That's why, when one of the main ones suddenly approached you, you thought you were dreaming. Whether it was possible to fall asleep in the simulation was another question. Usually you went to bed, closed eyes, only to open them the next second to the sound of the alarm clock.
"Can I help you with something?" You smiled politely, but was it worth it? Could the main bunch distinguish between persons different from their privileged group.
Hunt. Was that his name? You weren't completely sure. He was part of something forbidden, something to be avoided at all costs. Part of the three “don’ts”: don’t look for information;don’t mention; don’t give yourself unnecessary temptations. Returning to the present moment, he just looked into your eyes with his constant smile, as if trying to find confirmation of something.
Like a true NPC, you continued to stand, frozen in one position and waiting for his answer. Until awareness came as abruptly as his appearance in principle. He looked straight into your eyes. Could he see your face the same way you saw it in the mirror? How long ago? Could the rest of the main ones see you too?
A billion questions were spinning in head at the same time as you tried to come up with a suitable excuse and reason to leave. The changes turned out to be too unexpected and frightening. Perhaps with the advent of a new “day” everything would return to normal.
“Is there a knight in the world who is not ready to devote all his deeds to one and only one, if this opens the veil of secrets at least a little? Will it allow him to find out what thoughts are spinning in head?”
It's a pity he was not a knight. Even though each word was pronounced with a special intonation, you only thought about how much water there was in his speech. Unfortunately, saying this out loud was an unaffordable luxury.
"..Is that so?"
“You are right, an étoile (star), I may be not one of their noble number, but even so I am not able to deny their order.” You let him continue, mentally counting down the minutes until the bell rang for lesson. “I may not have a sword in sheath, but It won`t change a way I live! Your smile can make my whole heart melt. There isn't lie in way I felt”
“I’m not good at poetry, but the rhyme is lame, Sir Hunt,” if it’s there.
“You’re right, writing poems is just one of my hobbies, to which I devote my few free leisure hours,” he continued, as if your words didn’t hurt him at all. “I hasten to assure you that there was no malicious intent in my actions. This modest hunter only wanted to greet a new connoisseur of everything beautiful and interesting."
No matter how much you hate beating around the bush, doubts creeping in from randomly thrown words. Sometimes the phrases spoken directly were the most frightening. However, not wanting to part with your role as an extra - which was burdensome, but at the same time giving a semblance of freedom - you continued to pretend to be an NPC.
"Should I congratulate you?.. Congratulations!" Any member of the film club would envy your feigned sincerity. A bell in three, two, "I don’t dare detain you any longer.”
The unsaid `like you would me` hung in the air. You had to hold out for the few remaining hours until the end. Fortunately, the main one did let you go, but smile, saying that its owner knew everything in the world, left an unpleasant aftertaste. One that your intuition suggested would accompany you for the next days.
It's going to be a very long a few hours.

the peculiar intersections of plurality and fictionkinity
having been inspired by the discussions at the currently ongoing convention, i decided to clean up and post this ramble that's been sitting in my drafts for a while.
i don't usually talk about systemhood publicly, but i had an interesting experience some time ago that i thought might be worth sharing.
~400-500 words
once upon a few years ago, there was a fictive who occupied the host position of my collective. however, after a series of complicated internal developments, this fictive merged into the primordial identity soup, also known as me!
that fictivity and the relevant source material is still a part of me. i wouldn't be who i am now without it. but i view it in a similar fashion to how one might view a kintype they had in youth, and later grew out of as they learned more about themselves and who they really are.
fast forward to late 2022. i was watching a new show, and one of the characters struck me as uncomfortably familiar. i felt like i was looking at myself; specifically, the self i thought i had discarded like shed skin several years ago. i couldn't shake the feeling that this character was me, in a way that not even i was me anymore. i reacted by sweeping it all under a rug (which, spoiler, never works), until last month i finally felt bold enough to try and confront it.
to paraphrase what i said to @/contractbound when i was confiding in him about it: "its as if the me that identifies with [my fictive self] has a kintype of [the character i'm questioning]. and since that's still technically me, i still feel that connection. i still recognize [that character] as me. but with, like, a degree of separation due to the fact i don't really identify with the fictive part of myself anymore." like some kind of kintype once removed, or something.
he responded with my new favourite way to describe the situation; "it's like, that's you, but also not you, because you is not you." he also called it "the lacroix of being 'kin". i really don't think i can explain it better than that lmao
since then, although acceptance has been slow-going thanks to the complicated nature of…whatever this is, i am at least learning to give it a spot at the table rather than beat it with sticks. part of why i'm writing this is in the hopes that getting it into the open will help the process along, and maybe even reach anyone who may be in a similar situation.
if you, too, have been sipping the fictionkin lacroix, just know you aren't alone.

Hold On
angst, fluff, smut (the whole trio)
characters (all timeskip, not rly cannon): oikawa toru x reader, kageyama tobio x reader, iwaizumi hajime (mentioned)
summary: you grew up with kageyama and oikawa (same year as kageyama). yours and oikawa’s parents both own fairly successful companies, they want to merge them and decide to arrange for you and oikawa to get married to solidify the merge in the public eye. but you’re still in love with kageyama, your best friend, and hold a certain disdain towards oikawa…the wedding is a week away and a surprise appearance could change everything, or will it?
overall cw: nsfw in later chapters (it will be identified and can totally be skipped over, will not be entirely necessary to understanding the plot), cheating (kinda— if you see being ‘engaged’ for an arranged marriage as a relationship), some kinda harsh words on oikawa’s part (not really a warning, more of a head’s up), general emotional distress, mentions of attempted suicide
a/n: hey guys! i personally hate when there are two love interests in a story and you never know what would have happened with one of them… so i will be providing two endings, one for kageyama and one for oikawa so everyone can have closure with either preference lol. also, no, i don’t know why i made the end of the summary sound so dramatic 😭 not entirely sure how many parts this will be yet… we shall see. Hope y’all like part one!
Having just graduated college one year prior, your parents along with Oikawa's, were looking to merge their companies, deciding unilaterally that the best way to solidify it would be to have their children get married. The only problem was that the two of you had hated each other since high school when Oikawa made it his mission to make your life a living hell. You and Oikawa sit across from each other at the coffee shop. Neither of you have said a word in the past 30 minutes.
“It’s raining,” Oikawa spoke softly.
“Yeah,” you mutter back.
Oikawa continued staring out of the window before looking back at you. Silence fills the air between the two of you again.
"..So. Our wedding is next week…" Oikawa spoke up as he looked at you.
“Next week,” you repeat, staring out the window.
He hummed in response, leaning back and crossing his arms. He stayed quiet for another few minutes till he spoke up again.
"Isn't it crazy how we're already getting married and we haven't seen each other in four years?"
“Yeah, crazy.”
He let out a forced laugh for a moment before going quiet again. He shifted in his seat, the silence burying its uncomfortableness in his mind.
"..How's your knee been doing?"
“Fine,” you reply curtly, hoping he’ll drop it.
"Don't lie. I know your knee still isn't able to handle much physical stress after…"
“After you pushed me?” you clench your jaw.
"I didn’t think you’d fall that hard,” he mutters, “Your knee still can't take much physical stress, y/n. You really should be more careful with it."
You scoff and grit your teeth in frustration. He continued to stare at you with a disapproving look on his face.
"..I just want you to be careful with your knee, y/n. You've always been too stubborn and ignorant about it."
“God that is fucking rich coming from you.”
Annoyance spread across his face, eyes squinting at you judgmentally. A look you were all too used to.
"I swear to god, if I see you overworking your knee again I'll chain your leg to a chair."
“I'm not overworking shit.”
"That's a lie and you know it, y/n. I know you've been running laps."
“What? Are you stalking me now?”
"I'm not stalking you. I saw you when I was hanging out with Iwa-chan."
“I need to run Toru,” you mutter.
"You don't need to run. You need to give it a break, you idiot!"
“No I do,” you clench your jaw, “and you certainly don’t get to tell me what to do when it was your fault.”
He slams his hands on the table.
“Can you not cause a scene?” You roll your eyes.
He leaned back with a frustrated sigh. He grumbled quietly under his breath. You continue looking out the window in silence thinking about middle and high school when you used to run with your old best friend, Kageyama. It’s one of the few things you have left that you can do that makes it feel like he’s still around. The routine is a small comfort, but a comfort nonetheless and certainly a necessary one. Oikawa watches you go quiet and look out the window. He could practically see the thoughts rushing through your head.
“I need to go,” you mutter, standing up.
He panicked a bit as he watched you get up. He quickly grabbed your wrist to stop you.
"Wait, where are you going?!"
“I can't be around you right now.”
His grip on your wrist tightened. He had a worried look on his face.
"What do you mean you can't 'be around me' right now? Where are you going?"
“Somewhere personal, don't worry I won't run there,” you practically spit the words at him.
He flinched at the venom in your words.
"Y/n, just tell me where you're going. Please?" he spoke pleadingly.
“It has nothing to do with you so drop it.”
He clenched his jaw. He was getting frustrated again.
"I'm not going to just 'drop it'. You might be going off to somewhere dangerous. I'm worried about you!"
“That’s new,” you scoff, “I’m just going to the park... there's a hidden cove through some trees where I…” you pause contemplating saying that you went there with Kageyama but decide against it, “spent a lot of time in high school. Can you let me go now please?” You tug your arm away from his grasp.
“Just...promise me you won't do anything dangerous. It's not safe to go to isolated places like that on your own, y'know?"
“Yeah, whatever Toru.” You walk out of the café.
He was about to protest, to stop you from leaving, but he didn't. He just watched you walk towards the exit with a conflicted expression on his face. He was worried about you, but he didn't know what to do. The last thing he wanted was for you to push him away again.
"Hey, wait-"
He let out a sigh. He was too slow. You were already gone.

Dusted Mid-Year 2024, Part I (Oren Ambarchi to Loma)
Tumblr media
Oren Ambarchi and crew
Half the year is gone already, and how did that happen? At Dusted, we’ve spent six months listening to good records and bad.  We’ve picked our very favorites, the top two from this year’s pile.  And now, in an annual tradition, we turn them on our fellow writers.  Hah, take that!
Some of our Mid-Year switcheroos have been highly contentious.  We may have lost a writer or two in the aftermath.  Others have been remarkably collegial and full of positive discovery.  This one falls more or less in the middle.  Only a couple of reviews are notably grumpy.  A slightly larger (but still not large) number show evidence of newly awakened fandom.  For the most part, we came out with the same favorites we brought with us, though perhaps a little wiser about the music that we’re missing.
For this reason, it is harder than ever to identify winners.  There’s no universally admired album we can call “this year’s Heron Oblivion.”  Rosali and Winged Wheel each got four votes, as close to a sweep as this year brought.  Oren Ambarchi’s Ghosted II notched three.  There were lots of lone pics—which is fine.  More music to check out.
As always, we’re breaking the mid-year into three parts.  This one covers the front of the alphabet, a second will deal with the back.  The third, as always, provides longer lists from participating writers.  We hope you enjoy it.
Oren Ambarchi / Johan Berthling / Andreas Werliin —Ghosted II (Drag City)
youtube
Who recommended it? Bryon Hayes
Did we review it? Yes, Tim Clarke said, “They cleave closer to the meditative, exploratory grooves of The Necks, laying down intricately detailed and gradually evolving parts… Sublime.”
Bill Meyer’s take:
Count me among the Dusted writers who hold this trio in high esteem. Ghosted II strikes so precise a balance of texture, stillness and motion that it’s easy miss how fragile it is; one misplaced note or beat could bring it all down in a second, but the trio sustains each of the album’s four tracks for ten minutes or thereabouts. While it’s easy to appreciate the tidal flux of Oren Ambarchi’s guitar>>table of boxes>>Lesley speaker signal chain, and Johan Berthling’s immovable bass presence, if you are about to put this record on the hi-fi for the first time (PLEASE listen in stereo), consider focusing on the infinite mirror effect of Werliin’s percussion. Your third eye will thank you.
Olivia Block — The Mountains Pass (Black Truffle)
Who picked it? Bill Meyer
Did we review it? No
Ray Garraty’s take:
This has actually none of the pretentious stuff you expect to find in a work by somebody who has been dubbed a “media artist.” The second part of The Mountains Pass is especially stunning where ‘f2754’ has clearly a Giallo-esque feel to it, fast paced and a tad prog rock-ish. “Violet-Green,” perhaps the best composition on the album, brings in mind those creepy soundtracks, with synths and bells, which we usually hear on bad horror movies. And even when Olivia Block, on the same track, begins to sing, her voice is outlandish enough to think that she was abducted by the aliens.
Camera Obscura — Look to the East, Look to the West (Merge)
youtube
Who Picked it? Andrew Forell
Did we review it? Yes, Andrew said, “Campbell writes movingly about memory and friendship. Looking at what was rather than regretting what might have been with an honesty that goes directly to the heart of things.”
Bryon’s take:
This record makes me realize that I should listen to more Camera Obscura. The Glaswegian indie pop group is a delight to take in, especially Tracyanne Campbell’s lovely voice. Look to the East, Look to the West is a comeback album, the band’s first since they went on hiatus following the death of keyboardist Carey Lander in 2015. The most striking aspect here is the use of pedal steel and organ, which lend the album a country and western flair. This seems to be a new development for Campbell and company, but they pull it off well and the new sounds really suit the band. Similarly effective are the digital drums that the band employ on tracks like “Liberty Print.” Camera Obscura have altered course slightly but retain the loveliness that lies within their core.
Chief Keef — Almighty So 2 (RBC)
youtube
Who nominated it? Patrick Masterson
Did we review it? No.
Jennifer Kelly’s take:
Six years in the making and continually delayed—a fact the artist refers to several times during the run-time—Almighty So 2 is massive and ambitious, with operatic hooks and wall-shaking, body-pummeling beats. A mountainous swagger rocks, “Grape Trees,” the cut with Sexyy Red, a machine-gun ratatat thundering under brutal lyrics about gender relations. The politics are embedded in the subject matter, in the screaming sirens, the South Chicago gangland scenarios, the profanity, rage and cynicism. “Jesus Skit,” though, gets a little more explicit about it, positing a sliding reparations scheme that depends on skin color; light skinned rappers like Drake and Chance the Rapper lose out big time, while darker ones, like Sosa, get millions. The violence comes in the shattering beats, as in “1,2,3,” a slow-motion eruption. Here the artist sketches the bleak world that made (and continues to make) him, chanting, “I always believed I was gon' get paid/When I got to hustlin' up in sixth grade/You ain't givin' off that nigga, you won't get laid/Sleep for the weak, I been up for six days.” The track, like the rest of Almighty So 2, is gritty and nihilistic and undeniably powerful. So glad I got to hear this, non-expert though I am.
Cindy Lee — Diamond Jubilee (Realistik Studios)
youtube
Who nominated it? Patrick Masterson
Did we review it? Nope (and shame on us…)
Jonathan Shaw’s take:
Diamond Jubilee commences with three dazzling songs: the title track, “Glitz” and “Baby Blue.” Even if the rest of the record weren’t so excellent (it is, and at over two hours, there’s a lot of it), the strength of those three songs would propel it into frequent rotation, on my various devices and in my head, and likely onto the year-end list I will eventually compose. “Baby Blue” is the crucial track: it’s one of those songs (along with Warren Zevon’s “The French Inhaler,” Townes Van Zandt’s “For the Sake of the Song” and a few others) that is so ruthlessly fine in its execution and so suited to some of the least comfortable angles in the emotional furniture in my head that it requires a kind of commitment to listen to. Beyond that irretrievably subjective response, Diamond Jubilee commits, as well: to gorgeous melody, without entirely smoothing out the sharp edges that distinguished Lee’s What’s Tonight to Eternity (2020); to the reverb-saturated aesthetic of fading girl-group harmonies, clubland at 3 am, spangled cocktail dresses of motheaten satin and the pleasures of the last cigarette in the pack when there’s no money for another; and, it seems, to love, in social conditions that make love nearly as unthinkable as it is completely necessary. The surreal, in its modernist avant-garde iteration, emerged in similarly extreme social conditions, after the slaughter of the Great War and amid fascism’s rise. Those forces were enough to distort human relations into monstrous shapes nigh irrevocable. Lee’s music has strong relations to the dreamlike quality of the surreal, and we have our own terrors now: climate’s awful and furious change, social media’s psycho-social poisons and fascism, once again. Those terrors’ spectral presences are audible all over Diamond Jubilee, but they can’t blunt the sharpness of human longing in songs like “All I Want Is You” or “Don’t Tell Me I’m Wrong” or “Government Cheque.” Love’s intensities may not be sustainable, or even particularly livable, but they won’t be denied. Cindy Lee captures that set of truths with that aforementioned dazzle, and with depth.
DIIV — Frog In Boiling Water (Fantasy)
Who picked it? Tim Clarke
Did we review it? Yes. Tim Clarke said: “Despite the music’s dense layering and the overall feeling of frustration and confusion, Frog In Boiling Water thankfully leaves the listener with a feeling of hope and eventual redemption.”
Ray Garraty’s take:
If I were given this with no title and artist’s name I’d say this was written by a no name indie band circa 2016. It’s the same shoegazy guitars and sweet and melancholy vocals we’ve been hearing since when, 1994? The songs like “Reflected” got things moving but it’s far from boiling temperatures, merely lukewarm. It’s been written somewhere that the DIIV’s album is about “coping with capitalism,” yet it’s evident that it’s feeding the same capitalism, giving the fans the same thing over and over. And that is how capitalism works.
Nomi Epstein — shades (Another Timbre)
youtube
Who picked it? Christian Carey
Did we write about it? Yes, Christian said, "Epstein’s music is unfailingly attractive and elegantly paced. Shades is an excellent introduction to her work."
Bill Meyer’s take:
Since Nomi Epstein leads the Chicago-based new music ensemble a.pe.ri.od.ic, I’ve had plenty of opportunities to hear her guide performances of other people’s music. But shades is only the second album devoted to hers. Its three long pieces are, like the Wandelweiser and minimalist composers that a.pe.ri.od.ic has often supported, sparely arranged and deliberately paced. She puts intriguing sounds — some prepared piano notes, or a barely-there vocal tone — just far enough inside the frameworks of the music to invite one to listen in. Once your consciousness is inside the music, the slow movement of what surrounds you mesmerizes. Music this reserved and respectful is a welcome respite in a world where reality smacks you upside the head every day and even that influencer babbling on the phone belong to the person sitting next to you on the train insists on staring you in the eye.
Fuera de Sektor — Juegos Prohibidos (La Vida Es Un Mus Discos)
Who nominated it? Jonathan Shaw
Did we review it? Yes, Jonathan wrote, “It’s a singular sound, by turns compelling and bewitching—like the beautiful face you can just about discern across a dim and crowded room, a set of lines and textures briefly lit up by occasional drags on a cigarette. Not quite (or not just) postpunk, pop or dance music, the songs on Juegos Prohibitos itch at your hips and scratch into your brain.”
Christian Carey’s take:
Barcelona band Fuera de Sektor released a demo in 2022, but Juegos Prohibidos is their first full length recording. No Wave is a significant influence, particularly in the fiercely intense sing-shout vocals from Andrea Jarale. If you visit the band’s Instagram, it includes an amateur video that is an homage to Richard Hell, replicating a 1970s comic from NY Punk Magazine in which he starred. But there are many more reference points. The guitars channel the chops and soloing of eighties New Wave, and the rhythm section provides relentless uptempo playing. The defiant demeanor of the songs themselves depicts an unstoppable wall of intensity.
Daryl Groetsch — Above the Shore (self-released)
Who picked it? Andrew Forell
Did we review it? Yes, Andrew called it “a 75-minute floating symphony that insinuates its way into your subconscious with almost imperceptible stealth.”
Ian Mathers’ take:
Whether approvingly or not, works like this 75-minute composition/album are often described as if they were very static in nature; as if even when there are changes they happen in rigid, predictable ways. It may be that if you poke around under the hood of Above the Clouds enough you might be able to diagram out the way elements meld, progress, and separate again, and possibly under that light the whole thing looks regular. But in terms of the way it feels when you listen to it, there’s something quite different going on with Groetsch’s work. The whole thing does feel quite immersive, almost environmental. But as opposed to any number of ground-level or even underwater vistas that come to mind with similar works, here I feel suspended in the air, very far above any shore indeed. The listening experience feels akin to endlessly falling, eventually not so much above as through softly glowing clouds. It’s somehow soothingly vertiginous, and more captivating (and attention-rewarding) than most of its peers.
Icewear Vezzo — Live From the 6 (Quality Control Music)
youtube
Who picked it? Ray Garraty
Did we review it? No.
Patrick Masterson’s take:
Chivez Smith has been a familiar name to anyone keeping an eye on Detroit rap for the last decade — longer than you might think and long enough, now, to make him an elder statesman among the city’s spitters. What better time, then, to take a step back and assess not just how far you’ve come, but what all that hustling has amounted to? So goes Live From the 6 (not a Drake reference, in case you were momentarily confused; Vezzo’s from 6 Mile on McNichols north of Hamtramck), which isn’t quite a career retrospective but carries the themes of one. Vezzo’s in a reflective mood over the course of these 13 songs, his slightly frayed vocals forever unhurried and his beat selection consistently nodding to the high West Coast era; you could put Ice Cube or Snoop (or, for that matter, YG or Nipsey) over most of these productions and it wouldn’t throw you off. It’s not totally insular bars-wise, either; a questionable DaBaby feature aside — his double-time admission that he sees a therapist is heartening given how deservedly he got shunned by the establishment just as he was fixing to peak — Memphis artist YTB Fatt also shows up. Fellow Motor City emcees Babyface Ray and Chuckie CEO provide the remaining color, but end to end, this is Vezzo’s show and he shows up. There’s no lack of entry points to Icewear Vezzo’s discography by now, but if you were hesitant before, Live From the 6 is merely the latest display of his acumen. Hear why he’s the one.
Loma — How Will I Live Without A Body? (Sub Pop)
Who picked it? Tim Clarke
Did we review it? Yes, Tim wrote, “Yes, this is a heavy album, but luxuriously so. It’s music that stares death in the face and instead of running, hunkers down and gets comfortable.”
Alex Johnson’s take:
Listening to How Will I Live Without a Body? is like eavesdropping on a collage of someone else’s thoughts. Contemplation or confusion or a eureka one moment to the next. It’s theatrical, passionate music that, to me, shares a heavy sensibility with the operatic post-rock on Portishead’s Third. Like an unsettling daydream, the lyrics blur the mundane and existential. In “Affinity,” the narrator stares “into the dark,” finding herself multiplied but disconnected – “my shadows move/with and without me.” In “I Swallowed a Stone,” a“kettle boil[s] forever” and she “can’t live this feeling anymore.” Given the song’s tense, foreboding percussion and muted guitar “can’t” sounds like “might have to.”
Might, but not necessarily will. Despite the doses of dread, How Will I Live Without a Body? never feels resigned. You’re treated to interjections of sound, instrumental and otherwise —  flashes of illumination, portals to enter. “Unbraiding” fits sheets of strings, bird song, and burning punches of guitar fuzz around a simple, repeated piano, illustrating the line “bring somewhere out of nowhere.” Loma is working with a robust sonic palette here, but the album’s ethos seems grounded in a DIY curiosity. That “Broken Doorbell” features what sound like actual broken doorbells and then ends with waves hitting a shore is emblematic. It’s a lovely, if perhaps temporary, moment of arrival, having followed the shadows wherever they led.

Drone of the Wilds
The Drone of the Wilds lived in a small cabin, in the outskirts of the dark forest that bordered a small village. She stood out from her environment starkly; black nano-latex skin and smooth, faceless head highly out of place amongst thatched roofs and crude fabrics, quiet glens and clear streams.
She pushed open the door to her cabin, pulling her haul inside and hanging her bow on the wall. The dead creature, a six legged beast with shaggy fur, was effortlessly picked up and placed on a table.
The oils secreted from its fur would lubricate her joints well, and it’s organs would make a good base for her nutrient slurry. The rest, she could trade in town for things more useful to her.
Not for the first time, she mused on her luck. That such a backwater planet would be able to offer her a chance to live comfortably….
The Grand Hive had, at its height, been one of the biggest superpowers in the galaxy, respected and feared.
Even one of its mighty hiveships, shining black even against the darkness of space, was enough to conquer an entire planet. Each ship filled with millions of drones; converted humanoids joined together into something greater.
The human she had used to be had lived on one of those planets. A colony established by a long fallen planet named Earth, cut off from what little remained of that fledgling empire. A target ripe for conversion.
The human she had used to be had run in fear as the droneships descended on his planet, abducting people in the thousands. He had been terrified, so afraid of something he did not understand. So afraid, he ignored the tingle of excitement underneath.
He, along with the rest of his planet’s population, were placed in conversion pods. Organics merged with flesh, the hardware and software of his brain upgraded and reorganised. Wants, hopes, fears, emotional attachments… all stripped away. Replaced with obedience. Everything he was was assimilated by the Hive, the unnecessary discarded.
When she had finally emerged from that pod, along with hundreds of her sisters, all she felt was devotion to the Hive. She would not, until much later, truly appreciate her new body; smooth curves, powerful yet slender limbs, a blank slate where a face should be…
She was perfect.
She had served 146.31 cycles aboard Hiveship 462 before the Grand Hive fell. An alliance of rival forces had infiltrated Hiveship 000, from where the Grand Mxtress ruled over all, and destroyed her, contaminated the Hive. All at once it was severed. The network that connected all drones, providing them their orders, their purpose.
The hiveships all over the galaxy fell to chaos. Many drones began to regain their former lives, and in disgust of what they had become, self-terminated.
Others dedicated themselves to destroying all remnants of the Hive, the scattered hiveships that had managed to form smaller networks of their own.
She had not understood. She had never understood. Even as the network fell, she continued her existence as a drone.
Even with the return of those old memories; they weren’t her. The human she used to be sickened her. She did not miss him. Being a drone was far superior.
Those who were once her fellow drones chased her out, and hounded by the galaxy on all sides, she fled.
The other networks would not take her, the serial number tying her to a fallen hiveship marking her as terminate on sight. So she ran. For cycles, hoping from ship to ship, system to system.
It was a wormhole that brought her journey to an end. Her ship, a fragile thing, had been shredded by the forces, her alone ejected intact onto the strange planet upon which she could identify no stars in the night sky.
The people of the planet had been curious, but not afraid. They saw her as a curiosity, not a threat. She learned their language, told them her story. They felt sorry for her; not for the lost of her hive, but the lost of her humanity. It was a sentiment that confused her.
The planet’s technology was primitive; far too primitive for her to build a ship on. But it was irrelevant. She was safe there. None wanted her dead simply for the crime of being a drone. She was content to simply… be.
Some of the beings of the planet had strange powers, powers that defied comprehension. They called it magic; an obvious misunderstanding of some natural force, but one she alone could not quantify.
They had told her they could restore her old form, revert her to the human she used to be.
She had refused them. Why would she ever want to go back to that body? She was… drones did not used to have emotions, but now that she did, she could state with certainty she was ‘happy’.
Those wise men had shared a look with each other; something she did not understand shared in silent communication. It made her yearn for the Hive. Then, they had wished her luck, and left.
It had been 3 cycles since then. 3 cycles of relative peace. Of getting the chance to shift through the parts of her mind that resurfaced, to decide what to keep and what to toss. 3 years without the threat of termination, from drones or fearful organics.
She still missed the Grand Hive as it had been, a grand interconnected network of mindless belonging. But as far as lives went, being the Drone of the Wilds wasn’t so bad.
Not when compared to life as a human.

[Review] Sonic and the Black Knight (Wii)
Tumblr media
An ignoble end to the Sonic Storybook series.
After Secret Rings, Sonic Team went ahead with a sequel sharing a similar premise: Sonic enters the world of a popular myth, in this case the King Arthur legend. As before plenty of liberties are taken, and the Wii Remote takes centre stage, but I think both story and controls are improved at least somewhat in this second and final "Storybook" entry. Maybe they'll revisit the concept one day, people love to speculate about what other kind of stories Sonic & co might fit into.
In this tale, Sonic is plonked down in front of the eponymous black knight, a twisted and cruel version of King Arthur with massive impractical armour. His army of beastly soldiers from "the underworld" are threatening Merlina, Merlin's moeblob granddaughter. She seems at first to be another milquetoast Elise/Shahra type but before long some unsubtle foreshadowing hints at a villainous twist. Sonic soon runs into Amy as Nimue, while Shadow, Knuckles, and Blaze play the parts of knights of the round table who must be convinced to rebel against their evil king. I guess it's a very small table in this version, although you can unlock Silver and Jet in similar roles for the multiplayer.
Tumblr media
The team of three hostile knights challenge you in boss fights, and later become playable in certain levels, with their own moves and sword styles. They therefore have a large presence in the story which is nice, and Tails too is seen often as he hosts the Blacksmith equipment screen. Along with this the world feels more alive as many levels are populated by civilians, albeit strange gremlin creatures... come to think of it, there are no humans at all, as Merlina has pointy elf ears, Arthur turns out to just be a phantom of some sort, and there’s no Eggman to be seen! So it's a very Euro-fantasy tinged version of Britain… or at least, Japan’s idea of Euro-fantasy, which comes with a lot of blather about the nature of chivalry. The art design feels slightly more stylised than Secret Rings, although the locations themselves aren't half as interesting, consisting of ho-hum video game staples like enchanted forests, crystal caves, castles, and volcanoes.
Presumably lessons were learned from Secret Rings in the gameplay department, as the Nunchuck has now been implemented and with it a control stick for traditional 3D movement. The level structure is still similar as the action plays out in twisting lanes, only this time there's a lot of sword swinging, and this is where the Wii Remote's motion features kick in. The game throws tons of disposable shadow soldiers at you, and you mow them down by wildly flapping around. The thing is just not responsive enough to try anything more sophisticated than that. The attempt to merge the Sonic-style running and platforming with this combat system doesn't really work too well, and the level of precision the game tries to demand doesn't hold up to the controls either, so once again we have a situation where the core "playing the game" part falls down and brings the whole package crashing around it. Oh well.
Tumblr media
Like Secret Rings, you choose levels from a menu but now there's a map screen at least. You still get the larger plot-advancing levels and then side challenges that open up, but they're more optional this time and there's fewer of them. The game as a whole is shorter but I don't mind that at all, as Secret Rings felt artificially lengthened. Finishing a level awards you random loot, which has to be identified from a pool of points awarded based on your performance. These can be simply collectibles for the gallery or gameplay-modifying equipment. Your rating also levels you up, unlocking passive perks depending on the sword style you've chosen. It's an attempt at streamlining Secret Rings' customisation system, but ends up feeling fiddly and shallow, and getting to high levels would require either grinding or somehow playing perfectly. I felt no motivation for either, and stopped after getting the true ending despite new side levels opening up.
Tumblr media
Sadly the music represents a return to the unremarkable, despite featuring a collaboration of various artists. At least they don't force the main vocal theme on you in every menu like Secret Rings did, although the horn-blaring fanfare that ends each level is definitely worse. The boss fights are again a lowlight, whether they're the awkward knight duels or the handful of other quick time event-heavy battles. Overall it's refined in some ways but I can't help but feel that Secret Rings was a bigger swing and more admirable for it, even though it was a pain to play. Black Knight is a different kind of pain, a sort of dull headache pain, but it passes quickly and you can go on with your day. Cheerio.

I suppose it has been a long time since I've written here, as some things have changed, I guess, in my mind but not ultimately outside of it.
I don't feel comfortable really talking to anyone about how Gordon re-merged into me, and i didn't notice it at the time, but once I realized I missed him, it felt like a (minor) death. Minor as in it is not comparable to losing an entire life of a loved one you may have known for years. I don't care to make that comparison. But it was swift and required a lot of crying, and some poetry, a memoir to him. I had to face the trauma that he had separated to hold to begin with. That despite being a part of me and I very much could tell that, compared to my relationship with what I consider the soulbonds, there was something in him that I had missed.
I know I'm probably not the only one. He had made a couple of close friends. He'd developed a crush. He'd learned how to interact with people after many years of being stunted.
Mostly, he was here when I was the most drunk, and least capable. A sense of protective and fatherly energy that I likely will always crave in my life.
And it's awkward to think of the trauma I had to absorb that relates to a fictional piece of media. I remember telling someones in the fandom on tumblr how I felt like I identified as him, and they said "you're supposed to relate to him. The game is made that way." But there's always that "otherkin" experience that goes beyond the game, that is deeper, more surreal, yet different than what was created here.
No disrespect to the artist. I'm glad that the Half-Life games had a formative effect on my life experience. Maybe it was too ingrained. We'd talked about that, too.
But the flashbacks were swift, albeit cruel. Coming to terms with the fact we always saw the headcrabs lunging at us. Likely one of the effects from that silly, but provocative, emotional video games. One series out of maybe two that I had finished, the other being Neverwinter Nights. And I still miss that one, too. But I hadn't deeply identified with it.
Accepting the war. How much (we) had lost. Understanding that despite Black Mesa being connected to, and supportive of, the military, they came down to wipe us out. To wipe out all of the evidence that was left behind. Because we - and he - were to blame for the catastrophe that happened.
And they just don't like science. They don't care about the researchers. Those that had looked at screens and poked at buttons all day. Writing down chemical tables that I can't fathom anymore.
Remembering the dull moments, of a lot of studying.
I'd also outgrown him, in a literal since. Gordon Freeman in the video game is in his twenties, then thrown into a time vortex hell with the god that had...rearranged things. An entity we still wouldn't understand, as the creators meant it to be.
He still has a blog here, although its briefly posted on, that I should delete.
Sam merging back in was less intense and painful, as he was only here briefly. And he was focused on being human. Which just extends to something else I'll put into another post for what it's worth.

[Transcript begin.]
[The camera sits at somewhere near the base of the neck. There is a coffee table in front of Alex, and on it, a computer open to a platformer game with two little human-esqe characters in some sort of mud-brown maze, one red, one blue. Someone else’s hand is reaching from the left, somewhere off-camera, to pilot the blue character. In the background there is the quiet white noise of a fan and the distant chatter of a TV from somewhere further in the house. Crickets chirp from an open window somewhere.]
?: No, man, trust me. I have the strats. Watergirl’s clearing this jump, bro, watch.
[Voice identified: Charlie]
?: I’m watching, man. Go. Show me.
[Voice identified: Alexander.]
[The hand shifts on the keys, and the little blue character attempts to clear a gap over a red area on the map. It does not make it.]
C: FUCK!!!
A: Dude, don’t say that. You’re gonna teach ‘em swears.
[Alexander gestures at the screen.]
C: [Scoffs.] Man, you think my boy Fireboy doesn’t already know swears?? I mean look at him. Look.
A: You’re crazy, he’s just a little guy. And you’re out here teaching him swears. What would his mom think?
C: What mom. Is there a firemom. There is not a firemom. I don’t believe you.
A: No, dude, I’ve seen her. There’s a glitch in the final level, you need to do a no death run and run into the far right wall and she’s like, there. It’s real man on god.
[The screen still says ‘Game Over’.]
C: Oh my godddd, this is so fucked up. We need to start over.
A: I mean, we don’t need to see firemom, but she’s really cool. Like, she’s like ten feet tall and she’s got some really cool lore dialogue. Crazy shit.
C: THERE’S DIALOGUE??
[Another voice from the other room, in the direction of the TV, pipes up.]
?: Alex, stop lying to him about every Coolmath game you guys are finding.
[Voice identified: Ruth.]
A: [Muttered.] You wouldn’t know firemom if she punched you in the face.
R: I heard that. I have, like, an entire bat. And Chase has his sword, uh, somewhere. I think I can manage.
C: [Quieter.] You wouldn’t lie to me about firemom, though, man. You wouldn’t stoop that low.
A: Yeah man, I’m telling the truth. Firemom is so real and she’s going to get her revenge on the firemom haters like Rungo.
R: If you call me Rungo one more time so help me.
C: Guys, chill out. Come on, man. I need to figure out how to clear this gap.
A: I know exactly how to clear it bro.
C: Okay man. How.
A: Very carefully.
C: Ohhhh. Okay.
[From the other room, Ruth snorts to herself.]
A: Or we could like, switch spots.
C: What? Why- No, I have to be Watergirl, man. Look at her. She’s- Well, I don’t know. But.
A: You got a crush on her or something?
C: WHAT?? NO???
A: Then let me be her so we can finish the game, man. I don’t think you can like, merge souls with Watergirl so I don’t really know what other reasons you’d have.
C: I. Well. I mean like. Look at us though. We’re the same. [He tugs idly at his own hair, which is a bit past shoulder length.]
A: … you’re not blue.
C: [Spluttering.] I could be!!
A: Do you want to be?
C: I mean. Uh. [Laughing awkwardly.] How would I be. Lmao.
R: You did not just say ‘lmao’ out loud.
A: Live your truth, man. You can be blue if you want to, don’t let 2013 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class C117 tell you otherwise.
C: [Pausing for a moment.] Wow. You’re so wise.
A: Thanks bro, do you uh, actually wanna be blue or what.
C: …What.
A: Like, your uh… [He points to a stray strand of hair.] That.
C: What? Oh. [He brushes it back into place with a hand. When he speaks again, he’s quieter than before.] That’s… I mean how would I even do that?? I forgot how, uh. Ruth did. A while back.
A: We can go like, buy a kit, or something. I’ve got a 20 in my pocket, we should be set.
C: We? [He pales.] I. I dunno, man. It’s uh, haha, late, and. Um. You know maybe we should stay. Inside. Forever. I mean- not forever, uh, we need to beat this game, though, and, uhhh.
[Alexander leans forward a little, readjusting his sitting position.]
A: It’ll be cool, man. Night quest to go buy hair dye. A bros outing.
C: [Almost under his breath, seeming slightly lost in thought.] Bros outing… No, no, I can’t. I… I don’t get out much, man.
A: It’s night, dude. Who’s gonna see you?
[Charlie, who had begun staring at the computer several seconds ago, snaps his gaze back to Alex and looks slightly bewildered for a moment before blinking it away.]
C: Oh, um. I guess you’re… right. You’re right. No one’s really, uh. Out right now, huh.
A: Yeah! I was out all night last night, not one person. Everyone’s asleep, because they’re boring.
C: Huh. Well, uh. [He turns back to the computer for a second, then sits up a little straighter in his chair.] Maybe I’m done being boring, then. Where can we, uh, get… the thing?
A: There’s like, a CVS near here. Won’t be far.
C: Okay, yeah. Yeah. Not far. Alright. Let’s, uh. Go. There. Yep.
A: Hell yeah, man! [Alexander holds a hand out.]
[Charlie stares at his hand for a moment that goes on just slightly too long, before smiling awkwardly and high-fiving him.]
A: You’ve got a uh, pretty sweaty hand. Do you need to get like, medicine or something? Like, fever?
C: [Looks visibly terrified.] What? No, I’m fine. Lol.
A: [Hesitantly.] If you say so, bro.
C: Yeah, uh. Let me just go. Find my shoes. And tell Ruth where we’re going.
A: Gotcha, I’ll make sure the uh, couch doesn’t run off while you do that.
[Charlie gives a thumbs up and then stands, walking away to somewhere off-camera.]
[Alexander sits still for a grand total of one second, before he starts to drum his hands on his legs. The camera shifts as he rocks back and forth slightly. He clicks his tongue a few times, before returning to the drumming. The TV’s volume turns down a bit from the other end of the house, Ruth and Charlie audibly exchanging a few words, though they’re far enough away the specifics aren’t picked up.]
[Charlie wanders back in a moment later, now wearing tennis shoes and a still slightly-freaked-out-looking smile.]
C: Hey, uh. We’re good to, uh, go. Or, um, I am. If you are.
A: Niiiice, let’s get going, then.
[Alexander stands up, the camera angles upwards slightly as he stretches his back. A concerning amount of pops follow this action. He finishes stretching, and turns to Charlie.]
C: …Lead the way, man. I have no idea what a CVS is.
[Alexander starts walking to the door, nearly tripping over what appeared to be absolutely nothing. He makes a swift recovery, and speeds up a little on his way over.]
[He opens the front door, and steps to the side.]
A: Uh, Watergirl first.
[Charlie looks at him for a second, and then looks out the doorway for a few too long, before taking a deep breath and stepping over the threshold.]
[Alexander pauses, one hand moving up to the camera. He fumbles around for a second, an exasperated sigh escapes his mouth, before there is a click, and the feed cuts.]

Apple Vision Pro: Reality Restyled, World goes Mad.
The tech world has gone berserk since Apple’s “Apple Vision Pro”, its first stab at spatial computing, was introduced. This ultra-modern virtual reality headset surpasses the boundaries of that very concept presenting a near invariant convergence between digital and non material. Let us look into the characteristics that have fired up this frenzy, exposing how it operates, its dazzling layout as well as what technological advances is driving all of these.
Tumblr media
How it Works: Notably, Apple Vision Pro does not just cast an image onto your eyes it generates a realistic three-dimensional feeling. It, with the aid of innovative LiDAR technology and depth sensors maps around you in real time embedding digital elements within physical reality. Picture playing a game of chess on an augmented coffee table that leaps into the depths, or joining coworkers from all over the world in real time inside shared virtual space. The possibilities are mind-boggling.
Design that Dazzles: The so-called ‘high art’ brand that is Apple has not failed in terms of form factor as Vision Pro proves, which you can read below. The frame is lightweight aluminum that curves ergonomically around your face, a single piece of laminated glass functions as the lens housing all intricate technology inside. The available modular parts necessitate a comfortable fit for varietal heads. It’s just one of many demonstrations as to Apple pays with its quality designs which merge function and form.
Tumblr media
Technology Powerhouse: The dual-chip architecture has driven this wonder. The M2 chip well known from Apple’s latest devices packs phenomenal processing power whilst the R1 is a breakthrough solution which focuses on sensor data, eliminating lag. This combined power in other words gives smooth and into reality real experiences without trembling neither with lags of some timely moments.
Tumblr media
Craze Unfolding: This is a crowd of people waiting for the future to see, powered by Apple’s image as innovators and somehow hoping Vision Pro. Players expect to immerse themselves in hyper-realistic realms, creative professionals imagine unmatched collaboration tools and casual users dream about the ability to step into their dear movie or even memory reeling, pulsating is 3D. This isn’t just a device; it is a new paradigm in human-computer interaction.
Privacy Concerns: However even during the heights of excitement, there remains a cloud in privacy concerns. The dimension of questions about data collection and use also surrounds the Headset functionality to track your gaze and mapping it, besides identifying where you are. Apple requires user control and transparency, but trust has to be won; specifically for such a sensitive technology.
Tumblr media
However worrisome, the Apple Vision Pro is a giant leap. It is more than a poshlost headset: it unlocks the doors of an entirely new age to computing where real and virtual fuse together. Whether it lives up to the hype remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Apple Vision Pro has set ablaze the world and everyone waits with great anticipation.

back in the kubera hole N5! It all connects to N5 AAAAARRRREGGGGAGAGAGAGAGAAAAAAAAAA
All the events of n5 connect. Leez summoning kubera and wishing for an illusion of her village, kaz and lehn being the sons of prison escapee. Asha offered power of love by killing/sparing rao leez trying but failing. God (former) kubera giving choices to both mirha in the water channel and to crash the ship. Vishnu (?) Killing game with asha and mirha. And then i got spoiled and they all timetravel or something
3.277 huh mirha can now hear asura sura speech. Did she get hit or not? Her legs hurt but there is no wound. Wait this is the guilt spear. The irony of mirhas dilemma is that in the other timeline its ruche who summons vayu
Tumblr media
taking the 3rd option, seeing beyond the lines of gods and nastika and now the worth of a life equal to a universe. Baby mirha gets it.
Oh how the tables have turned with maruna and ran. Oh maruna is so stupid
This is what i love about kubera everyone has an agenda. Will vayu follow brahma or try to kill one of the kuberas?
Currygom wants me to remember what happened 200 chapters ago. Right ran is sus. Back then i thought it was because of the timelines merging but i dont remember the sequence of events anymore
That vitra side story got to me. Also interesting that they identified leez as ananta and maru a as aruna. Vitra slept through the whole universe and has no clue what is going on and yet has a better understanding than most
289. I feel bad for the rakshasas getting shoved into the meat grinder. Also raltara messing up this timelines chaos succession because she is older and has the exact same parents as jatayu. Woah so yutas eyes are connected back to both kali and garuda
290. Wayyyy back when samphati revealed that akasha sacrificed herself fighting taraka for samphati to survive and thus it implied that the one who gave maruna the eye of punishment was kali. But then its revealed that akasha struck a deal with taraka and has been working with them. So here i dont know if akasha ever actually died or if that is tarakafied akasha.
Oh yeah since maruna lost the name aruna and gained maruna i guess that freed up the name aruna and saved him from being killed liked his older siblings. Lol so kalavinka was the destined powerful child this whole time which makes sense she got all the special god tutelage.
Wow so brahma left things at the top too and became distorted like indra.
293. God kubera: i broke samsara and destroyed eternity now fight for your lives.
294. You could make an entire tv show out of Asura and Ravana's relationship. I find them interesting huh so they do care about each other. Two of the most selfish characters in the series each trying to sacrifice themselves for the other.
295 brahma gives up on this universe and goes all in on resurrecting ananta. This is interesting for the gods and shows the split between those like vayu who follow brahma and those making their own decisions
Its all N5? Always has been
I have the suspicion that Vitra recognizes something of Kinnara even after she changed her name to Airavata. He pegged Maruna as Aruna and Leez as Ananta. It would help explain why he dove into the chasm after new Airavata and how she turned up unconscious but unharmed in the human realm.

Final Masters Project: Modelling Progress (Kopitiam Chair).
Tumblr media
Figure 1: Kopitiam chair references.
Several references were analyzed to identify the common design characteristics of traditional kopitiam (coffee shop) chairs, as subtle variations exist between different models. Through visual analysis, key consistent features were observed: a circular support ring beneath the seat, diagonal side supports connecting the backrest and seat, and three vertical cylindrical bars forming the backrest structure. These elements were noted as essential in accurately modelling the chair.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Figure 2-3: Usage of curves.
The chair’s leg flow were initially shaped using vertices, which were then converted into curves to facilitate the generation of a clean cylindrical shell using its settings. This method allowed for better control over the form and ensured consistent thickness along the curve. The lower portion of each leg was tapered to create a more realistic and refined silhouette, reflecting how chair legs tend to narrow near the ground.
The same curve-based approach was applied to model the circular support ring beneath the seat and the diagonal side supports connecting the backrest to the seat.
To maintain symmetry and optimise workflow efficiency, a Mirror Modifier was applied to replicate one half of the chair's legs, reducing modelling time while ensuring structural consistency.
Tumblr media
Figure 4: Joining of backrest to one of the chair support.
I initially had difficulty merging the horizontal backrest support with the long chair legs into a single mesh while preserving clean topology for correct ambient occlusion baking. After several experiments, I modelled this section by combining two cylinders with matching vertex counts then rotated one cylinder to form a “T” intersection and then joined them by bridging edges and merging vertices, creating a cohesive tube-like junction. I added supporting edge loops around this connection to maintain a smooth flow of quads and prevent shading artifacts. This approach ensured that the combined geometry would bake ambient occlusion correctly and allow for clear edge detail during the texturing stage.
Tumblr media
Figure 5: Chair model and brief human model.
The chair model is displayed alongside a reference brief figure representing an average adult height to verify correct scale and ergonomics. The first edge loop is the waist, then the shoulder and lastly the head at the top. This comparison ensures that seat height, backrest dimensions, and overall proportions align with realistic human use. The chair is also model based on online dimensions of the reference chair.
Tumblr media
Figure 6: Chair UV unwrapped.
Similar to the table, increased the UV space for areas most likely to be seen so the textures stay sharp, while keeping the texel density even across the entire model to avoid mismatched detail.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Figure 7: Middle and high poly model. [Left] Figure 8: Temporary texturing test. [Right]
Two levels of poly model was created for baking texture purposes where high poly details are baked onto the lower poly model. Figure 8 shows a temporary texture test applied to the model. This lets me check that the UVs and basic material settings work correctly such as the flow of wood grains.

Unveiling the Power of Whole Body PET CT Scan with Starimaging
In today’s rapidly evolving medical world, early and accurate diagnosis is the key to effective treatment and better health outcomes. Among the most revolutionary advancements in diagnostic imaging is the Whole Body PET CT Scan. This hybrid imaging technology combines the strengths of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) to provide a comprehensive view of the body’s internal systems. Whether it's cancer detection, neurological assessment, or cardiovascular evaluation, this scan has proven to be a game-changer. If you're considering a whole body PET CT scan for yourself or a loved one, it's essential to understand what it entails, its uses, and why choosing a trusted provider like Starimaging makes a significant difference.
Tumblr media
What is a Whole Body PET CT Scan?
A Whole Body PET CT Scan is a non-invasive imaging procedure that merges two technologies into one scan:
PET (Positron Emission Tomography) captures metabolic and biochemical activity in the body by using a small amount of radioactive tracer.
CT (Computed Tomography) provides detailed anatomical images using X-rays.
When combined, PET CT scans give doctors both functional and structural insights, helping them detect abnormalities even at the cellular level. The “whole body” component means the scan covers the entire body in one continuous image, from head to toe, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation.
Clinical Applications of Whole Body PET CT Scans
The Whole Body PET CT Scan is widely recognized for its versatility. Some of its most common applications include:
1. Cancer Detection and Management
Identifying the exact location and stage of tumors
Monitoring treatment effectiveness
Detecting metastasis (spread of cancer)
Planning radiation therapy
2. Neurological Disorders
Detecting early signs of Alzheimer’s disease
Assessing epilepsy-related brain areas
Evaluating Parkinson’s disease
3. Cardiovascular Conditions
Evaluating myocardial viability
Diagnosing coronary artery disease
Detecting inflammation in blood vessels
4. Infection and Inflammation
Identifying hidden infections
Evaluating inflammatory diseases like sarcoidosis
With such wide-ranging uses, a whole body PET CT scan is often recommended when doctors need a detailed internal map of the body to guide treatment decisions.
The Procedure: What to Expect
Understanding the procedure helps reduce anxiety and prepares you for a smooth experience. Here’s a step-by-step overview of what typically happens during a whole body PET CT scan at a reputed center like Starimaging:
1. Preparation
You may be asked to avoid food and drink for a few hours before the scan. Blood sugar levels are usually checked beforehand, especially for diabetic patients.
2. Radiotracer Injection
A small amount of a radioactive tracer (commonly FDG – fluorodeoxyglucose) is injected into a vein. This tracer travels through the body and accumulates in areas with high metabolic activity, often indicating disease.
3. Waiting Period
After the injection, you’ll rest quietly for about 30–60 minutes while the tracer distributes throughout your body.
4. Scanning
You’ll lie on a motorized table that moves slowly through the PET CT scanner. The scan is painless and takes around 20–40 minutes.
5. Post-Scan Instructions
You can typically resume normal activities immediately after the scan. Drinking plenty of fluids helps flush the tracer from your system.
Advantages of Whole Body PET CT Scans
PET CT technology has transformed diagnostic imaging. Some of its standout benefits include:
Early Detection: Identifies diseases before they cause physical symptoms or structural changes.
High Accuracy: Provides a clear and detailed picture of both anatomy and function.
Treatment Monitoring: Evaluates how well a treatment is working, allowing adjustments when needed.
One-Stop Imaging: Combines multiple imaging needs into one procedure, reducing the need for separate tests.
Why Choose Starimaging for PET CT Scans?
When it comes to medical imaging, accuracy, safety, and trust are paramount. Here’s why Starimaging stands out as a leading choice:
1. Advanced Equipment
Starimaging utilizes state-of-the-art PET CT scanners with high-resolution capabilities, ensuring precise and reliable imaging for all types of diagnoses.

4. Hygiene and Safety Protocols
Strict hygiene and radiation safety measures are followed to ensure a secure environment for all patients.
5. Seamless Reporting and Coordination
Reports are generated promptly and are detailed, allowing referring doctors to make informed clinical decisions quickly.
Who Should Consider a Whole Body PET CT Scan?
While your healthcare provider will ultimately determine the need for a PET CT scan, it is often recommended for:
Individuals with a confirmed cancer diagnosis
Patients experiencing unexplained symptoms like weight loss, fatigue, or fever
Those undergoing treatment who require progress evaluation
People with a family history of certain diseases looking for a thorough screening
Early detection saves lives, and a whole body PET CT scan can be a valuable step toward preventive healthcare.
Preparing for Your Scan at Starimaging

Is Your Ad Strategy Future-Proof?
Tumblr media
As 2025 rolls in, the Indian ad industry is transforming at an unprecedented pace. The old-school, linear models are fading fast — now, it’s all about agility, authenticity, and real-time adaptability. Whether you identify as a creative ad agency, a digital-first marketing firm or a content-led branding partner, this year is demanding more than just clever messaging — it’s asking for cultural fluency and emotional intelligence.
From Campaigns to Conversations
Gone are the days when a flashy campaign guaranteed results. In 2025, it’s the brands that spark conversations — not just push messages — that truly win. The modern creative ad agency isn’t just scripting ads; it’s curating participatory storytelling.
With Indian audiences growing sharper and more self-aware, the challenge isn’t reach — it’s resonance. Stories need to feel shared, lived, and local.
Data-Informed, Intuition-Led: The New Creative Formula
Big data is vital, but it can’t replace gut and grit. The best creative ad agency today is one that merges AI-driven insights with human understanding. From choosing the right tone to knowing what not to say — it’s instinct that shapes emotional connections.
In Indian markets, where purchase decisions are often driven by sentiment and storytelling, the ad game is no longer robotic. It’s remarkably relational.
Hyper-Local Personalisation is the New Global Strategy
Personalised ads in 2025 go way beyond first names. Think reels in Assamese, memes in Gujarati, or voice ads in Odia — that’s where true engagement lies. Every progressive creative ad agency now thinks in terms of neighbourhood appeal, not just national reach.
Because in India, relevance isn’t a strategy — it’s survival.
Creators Are Not Add-Ons. They’re Creative Cores.
The creative landscape is no longer defined by ad executives alone. The real stars of 2025 are local creators — YouTubers from small towns, food bloggers from tier-2 cities, and community-driven storytellers.
The smartest creative ad agency no longer chases celebrity endorsements. It taps into authentic micro-influencers who hold real trust — and in India, trust trumps trend.
Brand Purpose: Clear, Loud, and Unapologetic
In an era of digital transparency, Indian consumers — especially Gen Z — want brands to take a stand. Whether it’s about sustainability, inclusivity, or mental health, today’s audiences expect your ad to come with a conscience.
Purpose-led branding is no longer optional. The modern creative ad agency needs to reflect lived realities — through inclusive casting, ethical messaging, and real-world relevance.
Welcome to the Phygital Playground
India’s ad innovation in 2025 is redefining experiences. From WhatsApp-based brand activations to QR code street games, the line between online and offline is now delightfully blurred. These phygital campaigns offer rich, hybrid engagement that’s both tactile and tech-driven.
A bold creative ad agency must now balance grassroots emotion with digital execution — and do it seamlessly.
Agencies Aren’t Vendors Anymore. They’re Vision Partners.
Brands today aren’t looking for someone to just run their campaigns. They want partners who can interpret shifts in culture, consumer behaviour, and context.
The new-age creative ad agency doesn’t just deliver on a brief. It co-creates roadmaps, redefines KPIs, and brings strategy, soul, and story to the table.
Bonus Insight: Want to See This in Action?
Explore Ogilvy’s Locked Coke Campaign — a powerful showcase of tech, emotion, and brand activation rolled into one. It’s a blueprint of how the future of ads can be both clever and culturally sticky.
In Closing: Understand Before You Advertise
The Indian advertising terrain in 2025 is not louder — it’s deeper. Success now belongs to the creative ad agency that listens more, understands better, and dares to do things differently.
Because the future of ads is not about shouting your message — it’s about being felt, seen, and shared.
