Load 3D File & Save Meshes in Custom Binary Format & Import an Existing PLY File in .NET Apps
What’s new in this release?
Aspose team is pleased to announce the release of Aspose.3D for .NET 17.01. The new version adds support of importing PLY models. Developers can import PLY (ASCII and Binary) models into the Aspose.3D API, and then export them in any supported 3D format. The new version also integrates the feature of writing 3D file in the custom binary mode. All the regular bug fixes and enhancements have also been included. Using Aspose.3D for .NET API, developers can already load all supported 3D files. Developers can also retrieve meshes and the new public API changes allow to save the meshes in custom binary format. The binary file size remains same as the data we store like the minimum workable size. This feature would also help Aspose clients manipulate bigger 3D models more effectively. PLY is a computer file format known as the Polygon File Format or the Stanford Triangle Format. It is one of simplest format to read and write a 3D mesh. Using Aspose.3D API, developers can now import any existing PLY (ASCII or Binary) model. Developers would also be able to load a PLY file, and then save in any supported 3D file format. Please check these help topics to know how to import an existing PLY file: Reading a 3D Scene and Specify Load Options of 3D PLY. This release includes plenty of new features as listed below

Feb 2021 BTO Unit Analysis: McNair Heights (Kallang/Whampoa)
Released during the Feb 2021 Sales Launch, McNair Heights is situated along a busy Balestier Road in the Kallang/Whampoa district. If you’ve ever wanted to live the high life, this BTO is it—two of its three blocks are 40 storeys tall!
This analysis will show you an overview of the BTO and help you decide on the best units to pick if you balloted for a unit there.
Overview of McNair Heights

Bus stop along McNair Road and bus stops along Balestier Road: Goes to town and neighbourhoods like Aljunied, Bedok, Marymount, Ang Mo Kio, Redhill, Bouna Vista and Tiong Bahru
Drivers’ convenienceEasy access to CTE (just down Balestier Road)Surrounding amenitiesApprox. 13-min walk to City Square Mall, Whampoa Drive Makan Place, and Bendemeer Market and Food Centre. 5-min drive to Shaw Plaza and Balestier PlazaNearby primary schoolsBendemeer Primary School, Farrer Park Primary School and Hong Wen SchoolEstimated completion dateQ2 2026
We checked out the site during a weekday morning and found the area to be bustling with plenty of activity. There were a lot of construction sites in the area with many other BTOs and developments surrounding McNair Heights still under construction. These developments include Kallang Polyclinic (to be opened in 2023) situated to the southeast of the site as well as shophouse-condo 1953 (also scheduled for completion by the end of 2023). With the completion date for the BTO estimated in 2026, the area should feel more settled once residents move in to McNair Heights.

Existing HDB blocks 122 and 123 along McNair Road.
Traffic was very busy along Balestier Road, seeing as it’s an arterial road with the exit and entrance of the CTE located just down the road. McNair Road, the other road bordering McNair Heights, is much quieter, leading into a residential area and a row of conserved terrace houses.

In terms of amenities, the nearest mall is City Square Mall and the nearest hawker centres are over at foodie haven Whampoa Drive Makan Place and Bendemeer Market & Food Centre. All are within walking distance. For something closer to home, there is a small coffee shop and mini mart at Blk 122 (just across McNair Road).
Alternatively, you can expect to find a supermarket, an eating house and other retail shops over at BTO Towner Crest, located along Serangoon Road just next to Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital. This BTO is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2023.
Public transportation is highly accessible, with buses plying along Balestier Road and McNair Road. Boon Keng MRT station (on the North-East line) is just a short walking distance away. Once on board, it’s just a few stops away from the city centre.

McNair Heights comprises 2-, 3- and 4-room units, as well as a series of rental flats over at Block 141C. Rather than a standalone block, the rental units are integrated with the usual 2-room flexi units, taking up the 2nd to 20th floors in two stacks (84 and 86), with the rest of the floors reserved for 2-room flexi units. Note that the 2-room flexi units are reserved for seniors (aged 55 and above) on short leases in this development.
Which unit to pick for McNair Heights?
Unblocked views
McNair Heights sprawling blocks allow unblocked views for certain units in some stacks. Because we don’t know how tall the future high-rise residential development located to the north of the site will be, we will have to disregard those stacks facing that site.
For now, these are the ones to go for if you want unblocked views:
141A: 54, 56 (From 35th floor onwards) 58, 60 (From 16th floor onwards)
141B: 64 (From 11th floor onwards) 66, 68 (From 7th floor onwards)
141C: 74 (From 16th floor onwards) 84, 86 (From 8th floor onwards)
Possible view for stacks 58, 60 and 74.

To be doubly sure, check out HDB’s 3D model of McNair Heights to determine the surrounding views of your chosen stack and unit.
No afternoon sun
In Singapore, the hot afternoon sun comes in two directions: the northwest direction from March to September and the southwest direction from September to March. If you want to avoid being baked in your own home, these are the best units to pick:
141A: 50 141B: 62, 66, 68 141C: 84
Privacy
If privacy is important to you, you will want to go for corner units that are away from the lifts and rubbish chutes. These are the ones to pick:
141A: 50, 56 141B: 62 141C: 74, 86
Other considerations:
Avoid stacks (84, 86, 66, 68) that are close to or facing the very busy Balestier Road, where you are expected to experience high traffic and noise pollution.
Stacks facing areas where people tend to congregate like the pavilion (number 4 on the map), fitness corners and playgrounds will also be less tranquil, especially if you’re picking a unit on the lower floors. Pick a higher floor unit on these stacks if possible.
Our recommendation if you’re opting for a 2-room flat: Stack 78 (While this stack doesn’t have unblocked views, the next building is some distance away.)
Our recommendation if you’re opting for a 3-room flat: Stack 62 (This stack is not facing the road or any areas with high human activity and has no afternoon sun. Also, the next building on the future residential site will likely be some distance away.)
Our recommendation if you’re opting for a 4-room flat: Stack 50 (Away from the roads, not facing the playground directly and no hot afternoon sun. Might have the potential of unblocked views.)

Atmospherics and the Googling of Humanity What can be done is being done. Moreover, those “doing it,” or “having it done” are products of a long disintegrating standard of humanity, morality and values. I will begin with an example, please be patient. Some 50 years ago, I was serving in South Vietnam as a Marine. Notwithstanding that the war itself was insanity, predicated on lies and broken treaties, serving with a rifle squad gives one a much smaller view of events. During the Vietnam War, the United States Marine Corps simply went insane. You see, they became obsessed with a single idea, that the 60’s drug culture would “infect” their elite organization. Of course, the Marine Corps, as it had become in peacetime between the Korean and Vietnam wars was far from elite, an organization of “bottom feeders” and unemployables as depicted in the 1960s TV comedy “Gomer Pyle.” Few had seen combat, those who fought in Korea or World War II, had long opted out for a better life. What was left was the dregs, thus, America went to war where “the Few,” as Marines are told to refer to themselves as, were often drunken, overweight and illiterate. When this gang of incompetents reached a war zone, they began an unending witch hunt against “potential drug abusers.” Little or no time was spent planning combat operations and, by 1969, many small unit leaders were drug informants with no knowledge of maps or using a radio, much less of combat operations. The Marine Corps outlawed sunglasses and even some brands of cigarettes, based on conspiracy theories that such things were part of a violent subculture intent on overthrowing “the system.” What is it Jim W. Dean so often says, “You just can’t make this stuff up?” The Marine Corps lost men in Vietnam, due to these and other equally stupid circumstances, at a rate 4 times that of World War II. Combat units would return from patrols and operations to find that base areas had been subject to mutinies and, in some cases, officers and senior NCOs were living in underground bunkers fearful of being murdered by their own men. Am I making this up, did this happen on Hill 10, Hill 34, Hill 55 or LZ Rockcrusher, and I could add two dozen names to this list? We thought Vietnam was insane, but the lessons of Vietnam weren’t learned by the likes of Donald Trump or John Bolton, both of whom openly assert that they were “too important” to be wasted on a war. With leadership devoid of those who learned the folly of insanity the hard way, the post 9/11 world has been one, not only of unending war but of a singular focus, not on drugs but on terrorism. There are only terrorists, or potential terrorists or Jihadists or varying processes where everyday citizens are now “potential enemy combatants” or “terrorist sympathizers.” Right after 9/11 it began, a focus on technology to monitor the “individual threat level” of every human being on the planet, identifying “influencers” and those who might be influenced. In the process, capabilities increased exponentially, and then again, exponentially still until the gulf between man and machine had disappeared, at least in the eyes of “data clients.” You may think you are human. You are really “click bait.” Your “devices” exist for one purpose, once the onion is peeled, to dangle images in front of you, often grotesque and perverse, and “fish” for your reaction. This is the AI of Google Corporation interacting directly with your subconscious. Nobody needs your psychiatric files, no “Daniel Ellsberg” type FBI break-ins nowadays, not only is it all free, but you pay and pay and pay for the privilege of being violated, your every thought, your every movement monitored every minute of every day. Chances are your phone counts your steps, it may well be counting your heartbeats as well, all going into a “cloud” where privacy advocates long ago gave up any hope of success. You buy the device, you pay for service, you endlessly “subscribe” to one thing or another, your life, your “enriched” existence is there and it is seen and processed. The science of seeing you, programming you and in nation after nation, selecting you for even broader surveillance or diminished personhood, is called “atmospherics.” What didn’t exist a decade ago is now a $100 billion a year industry and the buyers, once soft drink companies and car manufacturers are now political parties and governments. “Atmospherics” is a secret, a term the public face of Google knows nothing of, not in any dictionary, known only to a few. There is a reason we mention “atmospherics” and “Google” in the same sentence as both terms are part of, not a “two-edged sword” but something far more sinister. We begin. There is magic in the business models of Google, Facebook and other social media platforms like YouTube, owned by Google. Google enriches itself by selling access to content entirely created by others, content they censor at will, promote at will while Google “seeds” fake news, smears and conspiracy theories into the collective consciousness of a planet, driven by the most advanced AI or artificial intelligence on the planet. “Atmospherics” is the pseudo-science of engineering all that data through fusion centers and creating “output.” You see, the NSA, America’s “listening ear” that taps every phone, hears and sees all but processes or “fuses” as it were, almost nothing. Google “fuses” everything, every email but more, with the help of their dark little friends, all VOIP phone calls, and by that we mean everything, gets listened to as well, far more than the NSA gets. When you combined that with Facebook and their control of WhatsApp and Microsoft’s control of Skype, every expressed thought, be it a Facebook post, a comment on a blog site or what too many misconstrue as their private phone calls, all is heard, mixed with click bait output, cooked in a stew with friends, family and neighbors and we all become “product.” Imagine this, there are maps of every square kilometer of this planet where people access the internet. Overlaying these maps is a web, showing who shares any commonality of any kind, pet ownership, religion, employment, same model motorbike, any and every “maker,” connecting the world together. The EU has declared war on this capability, and the companies that ply the trade with names like “Analytica” and “Fusion,” and the output they sell to the fake democracies and tin pot dictators they serve. There is only one reason for the data in the post 9/11 world, and that is to identify threats and where no threat exists to invent one. As with the adage, if a hammer is the only tool you have then all you see are nails, atmospherics and intelligence fusion, driven by AI, sees only threats. Pet ownership can make someone seem “overly sensitive” which can be also seen as “easily influenced” and, when the insanity of the time takes hold, that translates to “easily radicalized.” Then throw $20 trillion dollars at the problem the value of the tech industries behind the insanity. Imagine this as a business model: All content, news, commercial, cultural, scientific, is submitted to you. You charge money to list or promote content, a service for which you charge, and, mind you, this is censorship and promotion not just of political issues but scientific and cultural as well. And then you sell advertising in return for your gift of allowing content creators to be censored or promoted, something they pay you for as well. It gets even better. You then track those who visit content and develop profiles on them. As all content comes through search engines and all search engines are now controlled by Google, even those that claim they aren’t, you create a grand “skinner box.” Content viewers, and by this, we mean “humanity” is subjected to customized, custom censored, custom propagandized, specialized content intended to stimulate consumption of useless goods and services while giving away all critical thinking capabilities. There was a time when psychologists went to corporations with programs to increase sales by profiling potential customers. Soon companies began profiling each other, using chaos theory and eventually advanced modeling through mathematics. In a world of corporations where faceless stockholder’s equity value justified all existence and any methodology, what many saw as a descent into barbarity supposedly took root. But they were wrong, so very wrong, it went further, so much further.

45 Questions
LETS DO IT
Does your character have siblings or family members in their age group? Which one are they closest with? UH....his closest would be his older brother Seijiro? Who...honestly was also probably the guy he was closest to. But ‘close’ is a relative term in his life....
What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like? Non existent. Died or left not long after he was born, he never found out which one. He knows for sure at least that his younger sister’s mother outright left. Seijiro sometimes spoke of her, but he got so wistful Yuji would switch topics quickly.
What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like? MmmmmMmmMBad? Bad. No one saw Yuji as more of a cog in the machine than his father did.
Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know? I’ve hinted at something a couple times in his meltdowns, but for now I’m filing that under tasty tasty spoilers. ;3c
On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets? Nothing, ahha. On an average day he does not HAVE pockets. Where does he keep his keycard then you ask? You don’t WANT to know. (spoiler: he clips it to his boxer waistband and hands it on the inside of the pants. Comfy.) Though as Piney was a different story. All kinds of mesh pockets in that suit, so like. Deodorant, mini sewing kit, pocket light, water purification tablets, pine? Literal real pine needles for Smell accuracy.
Does your character have recurring themes in their dreams? If he’s comfortable when he sleeps ie out of suit, expect dreamless sleep or flight.
Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares? Heat, immobility and suffocation. Basically all the Piney Suit Woes, which makes sense. Cause he’s sleeping in suit. Sometimes, his family.
Has your character ever fired a gun? If so, what was their first target? Actually it’s public info that it’s a yes! Piney went to a shooting range in at least one of his promos. He had a generic dummy target as his first target, and screamed when the gun went off. It was....tricky to pull off with the gloves on. But there was staff on hand to ensure safety! Looks so stupid it’s hilarious in the clips though.
Is your character’s current socioeconomic status different than it was when they were growing up? VERY MUCH SO. By technicality that is. Yuji grew up piss poor, but as Piney is basically owed royalty to a merchandise kingdom that puts him at celebrity income status. Not that he knows what to DO with it...and he’s too paranoid to willingly hire a lawyer or accountant, go figure. Manager’s going to have to do it all for him, siiigh.
Does your character feel more comfortable with more clothing, or with less clothing? LESS. The cooler his body is the more comfortable he is. Er, that’s not to say revealing fashion makes him feel comfortable but. At this point, his body’s needs like temperature and protection are King and the rest are optional sidequests.
In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been? Oh probably when he was outrunning Yakuza enforcers. Fear lasted with him so long it was the sole driving force for 24/7 Piney existing, and feeds into his paranoia to this day!
In what situation was your character the most calm they’ve ever been? Lol calm what is that Seriously though maybe...early middle school? His walks home from his jobs were always His Time.
Is your character bothered by the sight of blood? If so, in what way? VERY. If he hadn’t already seen so much by now, he’d have fainted dead away after so much as a bad head cut.
Does your character remember names or faces easier? Faces. Names are an active challenge, but a face is forever.
Is your character preoccupied with money or material possession? Why or why not? I MEAN YES....? Kind of? He does the poor kid thing of “hoardhoardHOARD” so he’s not exactly ambitious about it as much as desperate but it’s for sure a thing he hones in on.
Which does your character idealize most: happiness or success? Both, but like, with one being the other and vis versa? If he had to be forced to pick though, happiness. Though he still thinks one will bring the other.
What was your character’s favorite toy as a child? OH I ACTUALLY GOT A PIC FOR THIS ONE https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/3b/df/4e/3bdf4e06fa64cfe3147f6a624ed5b22e.jpg (Had to post it as a text shitness cause Tumblr’s coding is getting on my last goddamn nerve) It’s a little pudding yellow yellow and brown kitty cat plushie. His Dad took it outta his hands one day when he was in elementary school and sold it for pocket change. Did I intend on making Yuji disgustingly sadstuck? No, no I didn’t. Did it wind up that way? Ahyup.
Is your character more likely to admire wisdom, or ambition in others? Ambition, I think. Both deserve praise, but Yuji’s got a soft spot for the underdogs.
What is your character’s biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before? MmmmMMMMMMMM HE IS. DESPERATE. I guess the best way to describe this is like, if he likes you, he may never tell you or admire you from afar, but he’ll know your blood type, favorite kind of cheesecake and daily school routine? He doesn’t STALK, but he’s CREEPY even if he’s not outright clingy. He’s too much, and sometimes people don’t want to deal with a hot mess even if they got the best intentions. Not to mention he plain ass never takes initiative? Or if he does it’s always in a sneaky way? Like, grow a spine and talk to them already.
In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism? Self criticism. Always. A l w a y s. At this point he hardly WANTS to think about himself in a comparison aspect, because when he does it’s just Thanksgiving all up in here with that Roast and he don’t even celebrate American holidays.
If something tragic or negative happens to your character, do they believe they may have caused or deserved it, or are they quick to blame others? Mm, deserve it. Doesn’t mean he’ll accept it quietly.
What does your character like in other people? People who make an effort/are self sufficient, literally anyone who’s nice to him fwojewoiej. He likes both kindness and wryness, since both are refreshing in their own ways. Blitheness isn’t bad either, pure straightforwardness.
What does your character dislike in other people? Self entitlement, self important attitudes. Success without effort, smugness. Looking down on others or thinking themselves better than anything or anyone else. Basically, Mean Gurl Tropes. Also, to a lesser extent, being difficult to read or unpredictable. It won’t keep him from befriending people, but it puts him heavily on edge to not know what your angle is.
How quick is your character to trust someone else? NOT. AT. ALL. If you think he trusts you, 9/10 times you’re wrong even if he DOES like you.
How quick is your character to suspect someone else? Does this change if they are close with that person? I mean ALL HE DOES IS SUSPECT PEOPLE. ALWAYS. Including and even especially people he’s close to.
How does your character behave around children? As Yuji, he just gets outta there. There’s no reason for him to say. Expect him to disassociate into a goddamn corner if he’s forced to be around though. The Last Thing He Needs. As Piney though, they get along FAMOUSLY. He’s good at reading them and projecting friendly vibes. Now if only he could get some of that charisma for his day to day...
How does your character normally deal with confrontation? AVOID. BEND. BOW. SUBMIT. Anything, ANYTHING to get out of the line of fire, have it be settled and over with, down to bending and scraping. He is not a proud nor sturdy man.
How quick or slow is your character to resort to physical violence in a confrontation? Have you seen this man? He is a noodle. What could he do if he decided you needed to go down, strangle you with his noodle arms? Get real.
What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true? Spoiler! But I can say with clarity that it sure as hell did NOT.
What does your character find repulsive or disgusting? Snooty better-than-thou-shit-don’t-stink behavior. That sends an active recoil through him. Also though, as a slime man there’s not too much he can’t stand in the ‘generic things to be grossed out by’ category... he can’t stand blood though? He finds a lot of bodily gross out stuff to be pretty bad. Also, bag/packet food.
Describe a scenario in which your character feels most comfortable. Full room secured with security, where he is literally the only person who can get in. Breezy and allowing natural light in, food or cooking station provided. Someplace soft and good smelling to sleep.
Describe a scenario in which your character feels most uncomfortable. Anything Else. Extra points for no escape routes, ‘danger’ people, a lot of humid heat and immobility.
In the face of criticism, is your character defensive, self-deprecating, or willing to improve? MMM SELF DEPRECATING. But like. If he thinks he can accomplish it, he’s willing to improve? Like, he won’t be able to take any steps forward if he decides he is just not the kind of person who would be able to do it. But if it’s a matter of practicality that he improve, he’ll do it.
Is your character more likely to keep trying a solution/method that didn’t work the first time, or immediately move on to a different solution/method? New method. Time is precious, and plying at old failures wastes it.
How does your character behave around people they like? You ever wanted a ghost assistant who can swoosh in with what you need then swoosh out to be called upon again whenever their name is said? Your wish is his command. He’ll do anything to help you find your happiness.
How does your character behave around people they dislike? His usual jumpiness--literally anyone, he figures, could crush him--but instead of the eyes being jumpy, he settles for glaring at the person and making impatient body language. Might even get fed up enough to gain temporary anger points and chew them out.
Is your character more concerned with defending their honor, or protecting their status? STATUS IF HES GOT IT. Honor, who’s she
Is your character more likely to remove a problem/threat, or remove themselves from a problem/threat? THEMSELVES. BY A MILE. AN EXTRA TWO IF THAT HELPS.
Has your character ever been bitten by an animal? How were they affected (or unaffected)? Yyyyyep. He was snapped at for making a deal out of it though, so he remembers the animal part less and the snapping part more.
How does your character treat people in service jobs? Deferentially. Honestly. You ever get a customer who treats you like you’re the customer, and honestly you just want him to decide cause that’s your freaking job and also he keeps glancing at you like he’s aware you’re judging him? Him.
Does your character feel that they deserve to have what they want, whether it be material or abstract, or do they feel they must earn it first? Earn it. And he better keep earning it, if he’s ever earned it once. The world doesn’t owe you so much as it’s unclothed backside, so you better work.
Has your character ever had a parental figure who was not related to them? As Piney, their Manager Azami-san counted a tad? Especially since he was raw still from cutting his family out of his life.
Has your character ever had a dependent figure who was not related to them? Spoiler....maybe. ;3c (or I plain ass haven’t thought of this question coughcough)
How easy or difficult is it for your character to say “I love you?” Can they say it without meaning it? Er..............that’s a toughie. It’s not an easy or a hard issue, he just Won’t. He could also technically speaking say the words without meaning them but? He just. Has no reason to say that?
What does your character believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them? He’s not sure. All he thinks is that it’s heavily karma/earns based system, and he’d better be ready when the time comes. And oh yeah. TERRIFIES him.

History of Tea - Origin of Tea
“Though there are many literary writings about tea it's hard for historians to exactly pinpoint when tea was exactly discovered. A part of the problem is that the Chinese character for tea 'cha'(茶)is actually a relatively new character that only appeared in a Chinese dictionary around 350 A.D. Before the Chinese character 'tu' covered the meaning, describing infusions made from different plants including the tea plant. The appearance of a separate character is an indication that tea had become such a popular drink that needed its own character at that time.”

“After a decade of research, the Archeologists published in 2015 that these roots are about 6,000 years old. This confirmed it must have been the Hemudu culture, flourishing in 7,000 BC and 6000 BC, that started cultivating and brewing tea...By the time of the Tang Dynasty (618-906 AD) tea was the national drink of China, spreading from court circles to be popular throughout Chinese society. It was during this time that the practice developed of sending finest teas to the emperor's court as a tribute to him...Though loose leaf tea existed, most tea drinkers where still buying and storing tea in compressed form.”

“Tea was a drink that would take on literary, artistic and even religious overtones. This can be traced to the literary work 'Cha Ching', The Classic of Tea, by Lu Yu. His work was the single most influential work on the cultural significance of tea. The Classic of Tea was strongly influenced by the Taoist faith was central to culture in eighth century China. Taoists believed that every detail of life was an act of living that was worthy of celebration, and that one should attempt to find beauty everywhere in the world. Thus the emphasis on tranquility and harmony in the preparation and drinking of tea was recognition of its part in the masterpiece of life.”

“Due to a lack of good transportation method tea was initially only traded locally starting with Tibet and neighbouring order regions of other countries. This shipped to border regions were also known as 'border sales tea (bian xiao cha)'. Later it were Turkish traders who arrived at the Mongol border in 473 A.D. to bargain for tea.
Emperor Saga, who ruled Japan from 809 to 823, is known to be the first to be served tea. While Saga loved it, tea wasn't directly a hit in Japan. It too many more years until powdered tea was made during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). In 1191, the Japanese monk Eisai brought powdered tea back to Japan, where it became integrated in Zen Buddhism. The Japanese called powdered tea 'Matcha' and it became immensely popular among the aristocrats. However, in 1618 Chinese ambassadors presented the Russian Czar Alexis with many treasure boxes of tea, which were refused as useless.”

“The discovery of black tea soon further spurred the growing demand farther abroad. It was the Portuguese who introduced tea Europe in the 16th century and controlled most European trade with India and the Far East (an area known then as the Indies). Jan Huyghen van Linschoten also copied and revealed Portuguese trade secrets including navigational routes. The revelation of such routes allowed the British and Dutch East India Company to break the 16th century monopoly enjoyed by the Portuguese.”

“The demand for tea flourished in the 17th century. On the 20th of March 1602, the Dutch reorganized its overseas trade by merging the 6 existing East India Companies into one called the VOC (or United East India Company), also referred to as the Dutch East India Company...The success of the VOC can partially be attributed by the fact that it was the first company ever in history to offer an IPO (initial public offering) of shares to the public, allowing them to raise a vast amount of capital and financial power to compete internationally with larger countries.
The Dutch were the first to ship tea from Japan and China to Europe at the beginning of the 17th century. While initial trade focused on gold, silk and porcelain, the significance of tea began in the beginning of the 18th century. With more competition from the British East India Company, the Dutch started to reorganize their trade routes. Instead of shipping via Batavia, they established a direct trade route to the Netherlands. This allowed them to stabilize the prices and provide more consistent quality. In the period from 1729 to 1794 tea became the lifeblood of trade with China. It made up about 70 percent of the total trade purchased from Canton, China.”

“In 1600 Queen Elizabeth I gave a royal charter to a new trading company, the East India Company, by which it was given a monopoly over all British trade with the Indies. The Company soon began competing with the Portuguese and Dutch and distributed tea all over the world. Initially The British East India Company was almost pushed out by the Dutch, but made a comeback when it became responsible for the government of much of the vast Indian sub-continent...the British East India Company successfully copied tea cultivation from the Chinese in India, which allowed them to offer tea at much lower prices.”

“Both the creation of a monopoly by Queen Elizabeth I and the success in India was crucial to the success of the British East India Company in the history of tea trade...In the past, all the tea in the world came from China. In the 1800′s, Britain controlled 1/5 of the worlds, but what they couldn't control was the price and quality of tea. In the mid 1800′s, a British group of businessmen started to create a tea producing region in a place that they did control: India. The Scottish botanist was sent to China, to bring the secrets of tea production and seeds to India.

The tea bag basically made 2 important contributions: To make a brewing tea more convenient; To reduce the time to clean up as one can simply throw away the bag. Most people believe that it was an American tea merchant named Thomas Sullivan, who shipped out samples of tea in silk pouches in 1908. Some of his customers misunderstood this, and soaked the tea together with the pouches in hot water. They found it so convenient that they asked Thomas for more.A few years later though, a couple named Roberta C. Lawson and Mary Molaren filed a patent for a 'tea leaf holder'. Their invention used a mesh fabric that was stitched together into a bag that just fits enough tea for a single cup.”

Empress of China Becomes First US Ship to Trade with China
“The Empress voyage was the brainchild of John Ledyard, who had sailed to the Pacific with British explorer Captain James Cook. He hoped to trade for furs in the Pacific Northwest and carry them to China. He found backers including Philadelphia merchant Robert Morris, financier of the American Revolution...Ledyard backed out when the fur plan fell through, but Morris suggested ginseng as a valuable replacement cargo. The Chinese prized the root as a cure for all manner of ills.
The Empress needed six months to make the 18,000-mile trip to Canton (modern Guangzhou) and four months to trade its cargo for tea and export porcelain. Returning home in five months, reaching New York in May 1785. Soon dozens of ships each year were plying the seas between the United States and China, helping build fortunes in New York and New England. The desire for speed in this trade gave birth in the 1830s to the magnificent clipper ships that were the fastest sailing ships ever built.”

The Boatload of Ginseng That Launched the China Trade
“The Empress of China launched the China trade on Feb. 22, 1784, when she sailed out of New York Harbor loaded with ginseng, lead, Spanish silver coins and woolen cloth. The Treaty of Paris had been signed, America and Britain were at peace and America was free for the first time to trade with China...Not only were Americans enamored of Chinese tea, silks and home goods, but traders didn't have too many other options. The British had cut off American trade with the West Indies, and European nations had set up daunting trade barriers.
John Green, an Irishman from Philadelphia, was the Empress of China’s captain. Samuel Shaw, a 29-year-old Bostonian who had served as Gen. Henry Knox’s aide-de-camp, served as his senior business agent, or supercargo.”

“On Aug. 23, 1784, the ship sailed up the Pearl River in South China. The sailors aboard the ship were thrilled to see the Stars and Stripes unfurled for the first time in that part of the world. The French, the Danes, the Dutch and the British all greeted them politely. But the Chinese restricted them to a section of Canton where goods were exchanged in large factories, or hongs, their ships moored nearby.
The Chinese didn't know what to make of the Americans. They called them the ‘New People.’ (Later they would call them the ‘Flowery-Flag Devils' because the stars on the flag looked to the Chinese like flowers.) Shaw showed them a map of the United States and explained the size and possibilities of the new country. The Chinese, he wrote, ‘were not a little pleased at the prospect of so considerable a market for the productions of their own empire.’ “

“The Chinese had less interest in buying foreign goods than in selling their own. They did, however, prize ginseng, used as a curative, energy booster and aphrodisiac. Ginseng grew in only a few places: eastern Asia and parts of North America, including Canada, the mountains of New England, New York and Appalachia.”
“It took three months to scour the eastern United States for nearly 30 tons of ginseng to ship aboard the Empress of China. It was the largest shipment ever to arrive in Canton. Unfortunately for the Americans, the Europeans had also brought large amounts of the root. The price plummeted.”

“The Empress of China left Canton on Dec. 28, 1784 and arrived in New York Harbor on May 11, 1785. She carried 800 chests of tea, 20,000 pairs of nankeen trousers and a huge quantity of porcelain. Newspapers announced her return, and stores up and down the East Coast sold her cargo. That's where the Americans learned how to make real money in the China trade: the sale of Chinese export goods to Americans.
All told, the voyage earned a 25 percent return on investment. They'd hoped for more, but they made enough to spawn a new era of commerce with China.Shaw gave a complete report of the voyage to John Jay, the U.S. foreign minister. Jay shared his findings with Congress. Members of Congress responded with ‘a peculiar satisfaction in the successful issue of this first effort of the citizens of America to establish a direct trade with China.’”

Getting to the Root of Ginseng
“Sang, or Panax quinquefolius, is the American version of Asian ginseng (P. ginseng), which the Chinese have usedto treat a wide variety of ills for several thousand years. In Chinese medicine, Asian ginseng is considered “hot” (a mild stimulant), while its American cousin is “cool” (a calming tonic). Both contain compounds known as ginsenosides, but in different proportions.
In 1713, Pierre Jartoux, a Jesuit missionary in China, wrote in a letter that after eating ginseng, “I found my Pulse much fuller and quicker, I had an appetite, and found myself much more vigorous...After an hour, he reported feeling like a new man. In his letter, almost as an afterthought, he noted that ginseng might well grow in similar environments, such as Canada.”

“By chance, Jartoux’s letter came to the attention of a Jesuit brother visiting Quebec. An amateur medical botanist, Joseph Francois Lafitau soon after discovered a Canadian specimen that matched the plant in Jartoux’s drawing. A short time later, Canadian suppliers began shipping tons of it to China, resulting in over-harvesting within a few decades. The Chinese began looking to the South for an alternate source.
They found it in southern Appalachia, where the Cherokee were already using ginseng medicinally. The Indians believed that it was sentient, able to make itself invisible to people unworthy of it. They so valued ginseng that they dug up only one in four plants and replenished each harvested root with a bead, a prayer and a new seed. When the Canadian supply faltered, the Cherokee stepped up production. By the 1750′s, ports in Virginia and South Carolina were doing a brisk trade in the Cherokee’s Appalachian ginseng. Shipped to China, it eclipsed Canadian varieties.”

”George Washington, conducting a survey of his lands in the autumn of 1784, made note of the trend. “I met numbers of Persons & Pack horses going in with Ginsang; & for salt & other articles at the Markets below,” he wrote. The United States had no trade agreements with the Far East or even consulates there, so ginseng traders went through British middlemen.”
(via Getting to the Root of Ginseng | Smithsonian Magazine)

THE HISTORY OF AMERICAN GINSENG INDUSTRY IN MARATHON COUNTY AND ITS MYSTERIOUS ORIGINS WITH CHINA.
“In Wisconsin, Indians used American ginseng as a medicine long before white colonists arrived. By the 1840s, white settlers acquired American ginseng extensively from Indians for export. The ginseng trade in Marathon County started relatively late, starting in the 1870s, but played an extremely important role in the subsequent export of American ginseng. From the 19th century to the 20th century, most of the wild American ginseng was sold to China...Wild American ginseng, however, is a fragile plant that takes a long period of growth and neither Indians nor whites have any idea how to breed it. Indians used to be less dependent on ginseng in the past so this plant has been able to reproduce naturally for centuries but once soon large-scale export acquisitions begin, the American ginseng resources in Wisconsin are quickly...depleted.

In the 1880s, American George Stanton successfully cultivated American ginseng for the first time. His success led to the “ginseng fever” of the late nineteenth century. From the west coast of the United States to the Midwest, many American farmers use the original farmland for American ginseng cultivation...Part of the success of the American ginseng industry is due to the Fromm brothers who studied wild American ginseng and its habitat. From year after year trials, Fromm brothers master a better, newer approach to American ginseng cultivation. In addition to the Fromm brothers, there were three other companies in the Marathon County that were involved in the plantation of American ginseng in 1913. The results of these three companies were not immediately apparent and they were not the leaders of the American ginseng industry until 1919.”

Keemun
“is a famous Chinese black tea. First produced in late 19th century, it quickly became popular in the West and is still used for a number of classic blends... Other varieties include those specifically tailored for the Gongfu tea ceremony (Keemun Gongfu, or Congou or Kung Fu- 祁門工夫) and Keemun Xin Ya (祁門新芽), an early bud variety, said to have less bitterness.”

Wong Chin Foo was born as Wong Sa Kee ( 王歲奇 or Wang Sa Kee or Huang Sa Kee.) Wong Sa Kee’s family had once been a wealthy tea merchant, who betrayed the Emperor Xianfeng during the Taiping Rebellion, which left Wong’s family impoverished and outcast. Prince Gong was in charge following Xianfeng’s death, Wong Sa Kee was transferred to Prince Gong’s list. Officially, applying for citizenship as Wong Chin Foo in 1874.

Being the son of a tea merchant (Hong) like Moy Kee, he was able to own a Chinese restaurant, in New York on Pell Street called Mon Lay Won “The Chinese Delmonico” and introduced Americans to the term “Chop Suey.” Wong Chin Foo also introduced the martial arts Kung Fu to Americans. Wong Chin Foo later served as a translator for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Service.

Wong Chin Foo was friends with Sun Yat Sen who had an office above the Port Arthur Chinese Restaurant on Mott Street. The Emperor Guangxi had a list of people he wanted to bring back to China to be executed. Wong Chin Foo and Sun Yat Sen’s efforts to overthrow the Qing dynasty earned them a place on that list, while avoiding being killed by the Tongs.

THE FORGOTTEN STORY OF THE “FIRST CHINESE AMERICAN”
“Chinese have been in the United States in sizeable numbers since the California Gold Rush. They were shamefully mistreated, denied rights for most of a century and are generally thought to have borne everything the American establishment dished out passively and without much protest. This canard does an injustice to a little-known Bucknell alumnus, however. Nineteenth-century Chinese in America had a leader and a fighter in Wong Chin Foo (1847–98), a compelling and controversial figure whose story is a forgotten chapter in the history of the struggle for equal rights for all...He was the first to employ the term "Chinese American." He published New York's first Chinese-language newspaper. He established America's first association of Chinese voters and was probably the first Chinese ever to testify before Congress.”

“He was born Wong Sa Kee to a once-wealthy but impoverished family and spent his teenage years in the care of Sallie Little Holmes, an American Baptist missionary who arrived in his native Shandong Province in 1860. He mastered colloquial American English and was baptized by age 20. Foreseeing a promising future for him as a preacher, his benefactress brought him to America in 1867 to complete his education. And after a stint in Washington, D.C., and some travel, he transferred to Lewisburg, where he studied for nearly a year.”

”Wong settled in New York and became a journalist, and in 1883 launched the first Chinese-language newspaper east of the Rockies. Its English name — The Chinese American — marked the first recorded use of the term...He wrote scores of articles demystifying Chinese life that appeared in newspapers across the country. And in an essay on Chinese food, he was the first to introduce "chop suey" to American readers.”

“Wong took on the most famous of America's China critics, California's Denis Kearney. A demagogue and a skillful public speaker, the Irish-born Kearney personified the "Chinese Must Go" movement...In a public confrontation in 1887, he was judged victorious. "The mandarin got the better of the San Francisco orator in the intellectual contest, and drove Kearney from position to position," one newspaper declared.”

“After the passage of the Exclusion Act, Wong became active in politics...He began to focus on securing citizenship for Chinese willing to "Americanize" — that is, learn English, adopt Western dress, shave off their queues and give up gambling and opium smoking...When Congress renewed the Exclusion Act for a second decade in 1892, it added a requirement that Chinese register with the government and be photographed. Infuriated, America's Chinese resolved to see the new law retracted or declared unconstitutional. Wong established a new organization, the Chinese Equal Rights League, to get the law repealed. Under its aegis, he testified before a committee of Congress, but despite his soaring rhetoric, the effort failed.“

“Wong Chin Foo believed deeply in justice, equality and enfranchisement, and challenged Americans to live up to these values that they so freely espoused, but so utterly failed to apply to the Chinese in their midst. More than 70 years before Dr. King dreamed of an America that judged people according to the "content of their character," Wong declared that only "character and fitness should be the requirement of all who are desirous of becoming citizens of the American Republic."

”Although it took until 1943, nearly a half-century after his death, for America to repeal the prohibition against naturalization of Chinese, no one deserves more credit than Wong for waging the good fight against it. He set a pattern for what he thought being "Chinese American" should mean that is more or less what it has come to mean for millions. He deserves to be remembered not merely for envisioning and articulating the goal, but also for the creative means he employed, and the boundless energy he expended, in trying to achieve it.”

Unlocking the Trillion Dollar Opportunity!!

In 1998, Kodak sold 85% of photo film worldwide.Next few years Digital Camara slowly overlap the photo film.
In 2003, Iconic 1100 phone sold more than 500 million units by Nokia in an year. Which is highest selling phone till now.
In 2010, Blockbuster one of the most recognizable brand in the video rental space having around 9,000 stores & more than 60,000 employees. The company filed for bankruptcy protection.
In 2015, All the telecom operator in world together send 20B messages, which is less than 30B message send by the WhatsApp in a day.
All the above well-known & monopoly companies are bankrupt & certainly there business model disappears!!
“People think the CEO/directors of those companies must have been dumb not to see what was happening, but they were not dumb, they were very, very talented people, but they still missed the transition and made assumptions that were shown to be pretty poor in hindsight, but seemed fine at the time”. This highlights the importance of having someone in the organisation asking, constantly, what are our competitors doing to disrupt our business and our business model.
We stand on the brink of a technological revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work, and relate to one another. In its scale, scope, and complexity, this transformation will be unlike anything humankind has experienced before. This exponential growth transformed our life tremendously, in just a few years.
So what does disruption mean in this context?
Change that occurs when new digital technology & business model affect the value proposition of an existing goods & service, doing business, social interaction & more generally “WAY OF THINKING”.
Welcome to the ‘Exponential age of the Digital ERA’
These are the some area where Disruption is/was/will happened rapidly. & we saw the visible change in our daily life due to the disruption.
Print/Media/Entertainment
The role of traditional media has changed dramatically in the age of the internet-driven, 24-hour news cycle and the proliferation of social media. Technology will change the way of consuming the news. Newspaper no longer been an Ads or promotional channel. New generation consume news via Inshort,Dailyhunt,Buzzfeed, scoopwhoop,Reddit,Flipboard,Twitter,Facebook. & It’s generate more traffic than traditional newspaper, magazine,tv combine together. Its revenue & subscriber drastically reduced.Business model is slowly disappear.
Even world’s largest book publishers like Penguin,Pearson,McGraw-Hill face the heat of ebooks,iReader, kindle, online reader, audiobook, podcast, digital library.
Likewise, Largest music companies like Sony,HMV,T-series, & other bricks and mortar business are fight for the survival. With a plethora of services such as Pandora, Spotify, soundcloud, Hulu, and Scribd, subscription-based entertainment is becoming more and more ubiquitous across different types of media.
another example of digital disruption is the way Netflix is eating into the profits of CBS. Until few years ago, people could watch shows, movie etc only on television sets, home rental services. These shows etc were broadcasted to their TV sets by CBS, NBC, or Blockbuster. With the entry of Netflix and Youtubes the mode of delivery of videos has changed.
Technology giants like Facebook,Google,Netflix,Amazon make a major damage to their business model Bottom 👊🏼👊🏼 ✔️ $16.4Billion vs $17.9 Billion in past year its an revenue of all the news paper together in US vs FACEBOOK.
✔️ In 2011, Netflix suppressed the 20 million subscribers in the USA & Canada, making it the world’s leading subscription service for movies & TV show.
Transportation
The simplest & most famous example I can think of right now is the disruption created by cab companies like Uber/ Ola to private fleets of yellow taxis. The regular taxis relied on hand signals while plying empty on roads — or simply waiting at a taxi stand for a passenger to turn up. With Uber/Ola coming up with an easy to use mobile app to book cabs, there has been a huge digital disruption to regular taxis.
Automatic Car (Driverless car/ SelfDriving Car ) By the year end google & Uber come up with the self driving car. which is Code red for many drivers & other automakers. Most car companies might become bankrupt. Traditional car companies try the evolutionary approach and just build a better car, while tech companies will do the revolutionary approach & looking to reinvent the wheel.
Tesla go further in this research on most energy efficient electric cars & also huge invest in the mass transportation using Magnetic-Levitation system like Hyperloop.
Along with this new Ideas empowered with technology, it will disrupt the whole mode of transportation.
E-commerce & retail
As technology continues to advance, we see a shift in consumer expectations, which, in turn, leads to retailers rethinking their in-store strategies.Amazon already opened a supermarket without cash registers. You walk in, you take what you need and you walk out. Sensors and cameras automatically measure what you take and put everything on your credit card. In addition, Mobile, cloud, analytics,VR,Digital money and social media will be fully integrated into a unified merchandising system designed to vastly improve customer engagement.
Retail Industries are moving from small Kirana shops -> brick & mortar model -> departmental store -> hypermarkets(Metro,Walmart) -> Ecommerce shop (Virtual Shop,Drone delivery)
Bottom 👊🏼👊🏼
✔️ In america, Amazon takes market value $355.9B vs $297.8 market cap of all the retailers together which include Walmart, Target, Best Buy & others.
✔️ India’s E-commerce Revenue is expected to jump from $30 billion in 2016 to $100 billion in 2020.
Financial Services
The financial sector in India is currently experiencing a golden age, and its biggest driver is the effort to move toward a less-cash economy. In India, JAM (Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, Mobile)Enroute to the digital payments gaining the proportions of a mass movement. Majaorly due to the technology Innovation, New Business Model,Demographics, customer experience, mobile, it will disrupt the many vertical of Banking,Insurance, stock broking, payment, wealth management & many more financial services. Established technology firms are developing new products that enable the creation of new business models with enormous existing customer bases.
Trends in the financial sector
✔️Electronic trading now makes up almost 70% of all volume on the New York Stock Exchange and half of that is algorithmic trading. ✔️Electronic clearing of cheque (ECS) like IMPS,NEFT,RTGS,International Remittance make an ease of customer experience and also disrupt the traditional money transfers like checks and money orders. ✔️Starting of new payment bank (Airtel,Birla),small banks & mobile wallet(Paytm,Mobikwik),UPI (BHIM,PhonePe) help to reach the financial services to large audience. ✔️Intraducation of plastic money (Debit,Credit cards) Digital currency (Bitcoin, blockchain) promote the cashless economy. ✔️️Unbinding banking service from financial technology provide seamless experience in online/mobile banking, P2P Payments (Paypal,RuPay),Bill Payments.(Instamojo,billDesk,CCAvenue). ✔️Along with this lot of Fintech companies resolve problem in the different financial vertical like taxes (cleartax),Lending (Lendingkart),Personal Finance(FundsIndia) & many more. reach the common man in the societ
Telecom/Technology
Digitization is profoundly changing the competitive boundaries of the telecom industry. Core voice and messaging businesses have continued to shrink, in part because of regulatory pressures, but also because social media has opened new communications channels beyond traditional voice service.
After Graham bell discover Phone, next 100 years its never change its design.& AT & T realise its importance when mobile phone hit the market. same is in Set Top Box also.
Timeline Postcard →Telegram →Telephone →Radio →OpticalFiber →Internet→Email →Pager →Smartphone →MMS →VoIP
Day where we were charged us for messages to the Free internet, We are come up with the long way of voice to data migration.& also we move from telecom operators (AT &T/Verizon) to technology giants like (Google/Facebook) for communication. In Upcoming days technologies like 5G,MuLTEfire,IoT will completely vanishes the existing communication ways.
We’re at a critical time where Technology has eaten the world. Traditional industries such as automotive, fossil fuels, medical, insurance and real estate will be massively disrupted. IBMs Watson,Google deepmind computer is a perfect illustration of this computing power and it is set to disrupt traditional industries. ✔️Because of Watson, you can get legal advice within seconds and with 90% accuracy compared with 70% accuracy when done by humans. ✔️Adidas setup an 2 robotic shoe manufacturing plant in Germany.which is completely automated. ✔️Tesla is built an Gigafactory in Nevada which has complete automatic production line. ✔️️AI slowly eaten our workforce BPO services replace with bots ✔️Moving from31/2 Floppy to the Virtual Storage system Cloud Computing & big data will alter the definition of the Storage.
In less than 10 years, 📱 replaced:
📟 ☎️ 📠 💽 💾 💻 ⏰ 📷 📹 🎥 📺 📻 📰 💿 💳 💼 📎 📄 ⏳ 🔦 📼 📚 ⌚️ 🎮 📓 ✏️ 📁 🎤 📇 📆 🎰 💵 📬 📝 🆘 🏧 🎫 ✉️ 📤 ✒️ 📊 📋 🔎 🔑 📣 🎼 🎬 📀
Finally:
“In the new world, Its not the BigFish which eats the small fish, Its the fast fish which eat the slow fish”
All the above example, there is one thing is common that Business model move from traditional pipeline model to the Platform model. irrespective of the domain.
Platform business models!! Enable plug-and-play infrastructure into which producers and consumers can directly plug in, and they then govern the market interactions that ensue on top of the infrastructure.
We see pipes everywhere. Every consumer good that we use essentially comes to us via a pipe. All of manufacturing runs on a pipe model. Television and Radio are pipes spewing out content at us. Our education system is a pipe where teachers push out their ‘knowledge’ to children. Had the internet not come up, we would never have seen the emergence of platform business models. Unlike pipes, platforms do not just create and push stuff out. They allow users to create and consume value. At the technology layer, external developers can extend platform functionality using APIs. At the business layer, users (producers) can create value on the platform for other users (consumers) to consume. This is a massive shift from any form of business we have ever known in our industrial hangover.
Even before Internet there Platforms have existed for years. Malls link consumers and merchants; newspapers connect subscribers and advertisers. What’s changed in this century is that information technology has profoundly reduced the need to own physical infrastructure and assets. & increase the Network/marketplace/Communities,technology infrastructure,User/ProducerData. this will create great value to the product.
Platform business models gives lot of flexible in User acquisition,Product Design,Monetization.
Very few areas like Education & Healthcare still we difficult to break the pipe model.

How to survive??
1) Keep innovating, inventing
2) Survival for the fittest
3) keep update with technology
4) Winner take all, there is no second place
5) Mobile phone is entry point for the most of the things
What do Google’s crawlers, Uber’s drivers, and Instagram’s selfie-clickers have in common? In a world of platforms, they create the fuel needed to facilitate economic and social exchanges that power business and society.

Coinbase’s controversial acquisition of Neutrino was motivated by a desire to ditch its existing tech partners because they ”were actually selling client data to outside sources,” the head of sales at Coinbase said on Saturday.
In an interview with Cheddar, Coinbase’s Christine Sandler explained the rationale for buying Neutrino— a blockchain intelligence firm whose founders used to build hacking tools to sell to the police.
We are aware of the backgrounds of some of the folks that were involved in Neutrino and we are looking into that. I think the compelling reason for making the acquisition was that Neutrino really had some industry-leading, best-in-class technology. And moreover, it was really important for us to migrate away from our current providers — our current providers were actually selling client data to outside sources. It was really compelling for us to kind of get control over that and have proprietary technology that we could leverage to keep the data safe, and to protect our clients.
Wow. I’m really struggling to view Coinbase’s actions in anything but the harshest light. 1. Deal with blockchain tracing firm 2. Discover that firm selling client data 3. Don’t disclose this to anyone 4. Buy a firm that is made up of human rights violators 5. Profit?!? https://t.co/9om7HRxape
— Riccardo Spagni (@fluffypony) March 3, 2019
CCN has reached out to Coinbase seeking clarification as to which vendors sold Coinbase customer data, how long this went on, and whether or not customer data is now fully in Coinbase’s control. Coinbase had not responded as of publication time Sunday evening.

Neutrino, Hacking Team, and Surveillance
Neutrino bills itself as a go-to analytics platform for helping law enforcement agencies and financial institutions keep track of transactions on the blockchain. Previously, Neutrino CEO Giancarlo Russo, CTO Alberto Ornaghi, and CRO Marco Valleri used to ply their wares as cyber gurus for a firm known called Hacking Team.
On its website, the Hacking Team says:
We believe that fighting crime should be easy; we provide effective, easy-to-use offensive technology to the worldwide law enforcement and intelligence communities.
On the “Solutions” page of the Hacking Team’s website, the company sheds light on the nature of the tools that are being sold to governments around the world:
Criminals and terrorists rely on mobile phones, tablets, lap tops and computers equipped with universal end-to-end encryption to hide their activity. Their secret communications and encrypted files can be critical to investigating, preventing and prosecuting crime. Hacking Team provides law enforcement an effective, easy-to-use solution.
When I said it would be great to have more infosec people involved in the “crypto” space, I didn’t mean the largest US exchange should acquire an analysis tools company run by a former Hacking Team member, but here we are
— Amber ☘️ (@AmberBaldet) February 24, 2019
Hacking Team’s mostly-secret client list reportedly includes Mexico, Oman, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Sudan, and others. In some instances, the Hacking Team’s tools have apparently been deployed to spy on journalists and dissidents instead of criminals.
On it’s “About Us” page, Hacking Team notes that its technology “is used daily to fight crime in six continents.”
Hacking Team’s Saudi Partnership Revealed
Supporting good-faith efforts to prosecute crime sounds reasonable enough. Different countries adhere to unique criminal codes, though. Speaking out against the government is legal in many countries, but not in others. For instance, Saudi Arabia has imprisoned women’s rights activists, journalists, and government critics. And in late 2017, Riyadh passed an “antiterrorism” law that tied certain “nonviolent political and religious speech” with prison time, according to a report by Freedom House.
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has reportedly used Hacking Team software REUTERS/Adnan Abidi
Saud al-Qahtani, head of the Center for Studies and Media Affairs in the Saudi capital, has reportedly been one of Hacking Team’s clients.
“Qahtani and his cyber colleagues worked at first with an Italian company called Hacking Team,” the Washington Post’s David Ignatius reported in December, citing “many knowledgeable sources who requested anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence matters.”
Qhatani worked with Hacking Team as he built “a network of surveillance and social-media manipulation to advance MBS’s agenda and suppress his enemies,” the WashPost report notes.
Hacking Team in the U.S.
In 2012, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) spent $2.4 million on Hacking Team’s Remote Control System, which lets government agents remotely access communications data on a device.

Another point of going is that the students can perform their knowledge in the appearance they do it separate: in write form, orally, by schemes, presentations and so on.The assignments in a DI crystallise the assignments ar not the equal for each student, but depend on the aim of hindrance that the student can resist [1]. A DI student will neer do any(prenominal) extra assignments if he coped with his own but will instead be presumptuousness a benefit that is the reason it is so important to discover the academic train of the students and dist ribute the assignments properly. The theory of differentiated instruction implies that the students do not learn in the similar path and argon not academically alike. The selfsame(prenominal) academic surroundings may receive and motivate one student and match another student from progressing. DI keeps in intellectual all these live issues and teaches students to come to academic knowledge themselves exclusively assisting them in all the steps of personal and academic growth.\n\n3. Carol-Ann Tomlinsons opinion\n\nCarol-Ann Tomlinson is an sort out professor at the University of Virginia. She is in addition the beginning of the book The differentiated classroom: responding to the call for of all learners and multiple articles. Tomlinson was a start in differentiated instruction as she recognized it as the reflection of the time when children from six to cardinal were studying together [3]. Tomlinson says: What we call differentiation is not a recipe for teaching. It i s not an instructional dodging[2]. According to her words differentiated instruction is based on a case-hardened of educational beliefs including the sentiment that even if students ar the same age that does not misbegotten that they posses a similar readiness to learn, styles of learning, spirit circumstances, experiences and interests. Students need and hit to work without assist but this is whole possible if the teachers assist them by adjusting and be flexible both with the computer program and the interests of the class. Tomlinson emphasizes the greatness of making every single student feel need and respected in the class. So, as it has been mentioned preceding(prenominal) the academic capacity of each student has to be enlarged, maximized and optimized through the teachers assistance and coiffe differentiation and evaluation of the personal peculiarities, abilities and learning indites of the student. Tomlinson considers differential instruction to be the best musical mode to educate students as it adjusts all the materials and activities to the diverse take aims and ship mood of learning. If the student gets the essentials of the class it does not authentically matter what way he got it: all by functionals alone or in-group, by the manner of deduction or induction, by reading, ceremonial occasion or by listening. What matters is that we get an academically developed disposition that is capable of intriguing himself.\n\n4. DIs importee in class\n\nDI is all about choices offered to the students on different phases of the class curriculum. The curriculum of a DI class consists of three split: content - choices for taking information in, process - choices for analyzing and understanding it and crossway - choices for helping the students bring out what they retain versed so far[4].\n\nThe educational tilts in my class have been ostensibly dictated by differentiated instruction. The most important part of it is that the stu dents are now truly challenged by the existing frame. Students are provided material at different levels and tasks have different level of difficulty. Everything varies now: the time given to do a task, the level of the task and the way of its fulfillment. The class takes into consideration the interests of all the students and the tasks are distributed according to these get h sexagenarian of interests[4]. Students are besides motivated by the additional choices of the working alone or collaboratively and choosing the material every in ocular or audio frequency modes. The tasks are also any imaginative or simply reflect the practical part of the chosen issue. DI converted each student into an vigorous participant of the educational process with the fortuity to make conclusions and adjudicate problems himself with his knowledge merely. It not strange that the soulfulness learning profile started being of such(prenominal) a revalue for the educational schema because e ach student generally and me oddly have notices the difference in our own compassments.\n\nConclusion: Differentiated instruction is a revolution in the world of education. Grades by themselves are not important any more. The primary last of DI is to provide students with the tasks that correspond to their learning abilities and needs and not only appropriate for the musical theme itself or the stratum of the student1. The reason nowadays teachers tend to gambling to differentiated instruction has its roots in the desire to reach all the students in the class as and not to leave anybody uninspired. The issue of meeting the soul needs of each student has become vital for the coetaneous frame of education because the system is triskaidekaphobic to lose the intellectual people, whose talents can be oppressed by the orientation on the fondness of the class [5]. Differentiated instruction implies that the teachers do not teach but direct the student into the right burster for their growth and development. The system is eager to make poor and nub student achieve their highest potential.\n\nAlmost all the teachers truly weigh that differentiated instruction is a expose kind of education, notwithstanding it faces difficulties in touchable life as it is much harder to change the whole system and start program line in education than to continue using the same old destructive educational pattern.\n\n1 When students are diverse, teachers can either teach to the middle and hope for the best, or they can face the challenge of diversifying their instruction. Today, more and more teachers are choosing the second option.[3].If you motivation to get a full essay, post it on our website: Looking for a place to buy a cheap paper online? Top class solution for girls’ grammar
Firestone’s RubberGard EPDM single ply roofing membrane has been used to refurbish three flat roof areas at South Wiltshire Grammar School in Salisbury as part of a programme of roof upgrades at the school.
A selective girls’ school with high academic standards, South Wiltshire Grammar has a large campus accommodating around 1000 students, and various additions to the buildings on site have been constructed over the years.
South Wiltshire Grammar School
Firestone-authorised contractor Saul Bros was tasked with carrying out major repairs to the tiled pitched roof on the main building and refurbishing three flat roofs on the same building.
All works needed to be carried out during school holidays and provide a high quality, robust finish with an extended service life. Having used Firestone’s RubberGard EPDM membrane on previous schemes, Saul Bros recommended it to the school as the ideal solution for a rapid install and long service life on the three flat roofs.
The technical team at Firestone worked closely with Saul Bros to develop a technical specification for the roofs, ensuring efficient use of materials and a durable, hardwearing finish.
The existing bituminous roof coverings were prepared to receive the new waterproofing system. Debris and areas with poor laminar strength were removed and the surface made good for adhesion of the new ISOGARD™ HD cover boards.
On one of the roofs, three existing skylights were also stripped out and the resulting recesses were re-boarded to enclose the apertures.
Following strip out, Firestone ISOGARD HD cover board was adhered to the roofs’ concrete substrate, maintaining the existing fall to the drainage outlets and ensuring a smooth, compatible and robust surface. The membrane was then adhered to each roof with minimum 150mm laps and the joints were sealed using Firestone’s 75mm wide, self-adhesive QuickSeam Splice Tape.
All works were completed within the holiday period and the school says it is delighted with the result. Head teacher Michele Chilcott commented: “Maintaining the fabric of our buildings to the high standards we uphold across all we do is important to us and we wanted a refurbishment that would offer us a long-term, low maintenance solution that looks good and ensures a watertight environment for students.
“Saul Bros recommended the RubberGard EPDM membrane, which is quick and easy to install as it enabled the completion of works within a short timescale outside of term time and created a neat finish that we’re confident will last and last.”
