Aside from the easily gunked up scroll nipple I think this is the most comfy and nice looking mouse Apple has ever made and I like how they finally made it have multiple button input functionality at the time!

IDK if this mouse looks as good but at least it has the same basic ergonomics and the scroll wheel doesn't gunk up and stop working

Replacing physical buttons and controls with touchscreens also means removing accessibility features. Physical buttons can be textured or have Braille and can be located by touch and don't need to be pressed with a bare finger. Touchscreens usually require precise taps and hand-eye coordination for the same task.
Many point-of-sale machines now are essentially just a smartphone with a card reader attached and the interface. The control layout can change at a moment's notice and there are no physical boundaries between buttons. With a keypad-style machine, the buttons are always in the same place and can be located by touch, especially since the middle button has a raised ridge on it.
Buttons can also be located by touch without activating them, which enables a "locate then press" style of interaction which is not possible on touchscreens, where even light touches will register as presses and the buttons must be located visually rather than by touch.
When elevator or door controls are replaced by touch screens, will existing accessibility features be preserved, or will some people no longer be able to use those controls?
Who is allowed to control the physical world, and who is making that decision?
#i get why this is happening; it's way cheaper to buy an off-the-shelf touch kiosk or tablet and run your ui on a web server#rather than integrating with custom hardware and physical inputs#but that should not just removing accessibility features#and I know that digital devices can help a lot with accessibility: e.g. screen readers#but I wouldn't rely on any of those being installed on someone else's device

youtuber/tiktoker/whatever-type-of-video-influencer marinette, where she makes crazy DIY and craft videos and debunks fake content-farm DIYs. she has a modest but loyal mass of followers that grow by the day as her crafts get increasingly intricate and cool. she catalogues all of her mistakes and is very earnest about the process. adrien falls asleep to videos of her sewing and making cool containers and explaining the mechanisms of the strange devices she makes
#lots of fashion and sewing of course but other crafts as well#i think a lot about how marinette made that box that she keeps the miraculous box in#the giant sewing box with a secret drawer that can only be accessed through by inputting a code into hidden buttons#like. that's a whole ass device w mechanisms and everything. girl is an all around DIY queen#buggachatter

for me personally, what strengthens my autistic prowl headcanon is that he's rather good on the principles of body language, taking stock of minute movements and understanding what it could mean. he overanalyzes and tries to predict the meaning behind it. but he doesn't have the full grasp on social matters, thus making people unpredictable because he doesn't truly understand or even just 'go with the flow' when it comes to people. he needs a script of sort to interact, and in a way, body language is that.
he can have all the data on someone he wants, preferring to think of people in numbers because numbers are safe and predictable (not as in, oh, Prowl is willing to let people die. when i say numbers here i mean it literally, as in his calculations that he can't help himself from running). the individuality of people, however.... he can't actually put his knowledge into practice when he's thinking too hard on how he should react to said body language.
im not necessarily applying this to idw1 specifically, btw (all prowls are autistic to me). because the thing about idw1 prowl, i do like seeing him in an autistic lens but he is also Just An Asshole. he can in fact be both (though there's something to be said on how certain characters are a touch unreliable in how they talk about him because they believe the worst of him (i.e., Fort Max feeling he was left for dead when Prowl was led to believe that he had died), as well as how the writers just wanted to make Prowl Always in the wrong, even though he very much had a point in saying the Autobots were hypocrites, even if Prowl is still a bad guy despite being a victim). that's a lot of words to say that i hate people looking at Prowl's worst traits and trying to justify them simply with 'he's autistic' lol. there can be a genuinely interesting conversation on how the way his processor works can be an allegory for being neurodivergent/autistic specifically, but alas.. prowl is extremely flawed, and that's okay! he can be flawed and still exist within the realm of your headcanon.
really i just mean it's a bit Interesting when that's all people go with. you can say it's a mix of both, and that's still better than painting a rather harmful picture of autism/autistic traits. they don't make you into an asshole, they make certain areas of life harder to navigate. in Prowl's case, i think you can definitely say that both his good and bad traits can be used for the headcanon, it's just that he also doesn't do himself any favors when it comes to people liking him, and he's well aware of that. he doesn't pretend to be a good person, but he still gets frustrated when people don't see things the way he does.
it's difficult even trying to articulate my thoughts here because i don't want to be misunderstood oughhh i just relate to him because i tend to answer rhetorical questions because i can't pick up on whether or not someone is being genuine in asking, but im really fucking good at reading body languages. it's like a game of life or death to me. i took classes for something that seems to come easier to people, building up the skill. all just to still not get people on a fundamental level. Oh well
#wanted to add more to this but what the hell#i have always loved the idea that prowl being able to take in so much input results in more overstimulating#because yeah#why wouldn't it#robots and adjacent things are already literary devices for these types of allegories and i really think prowl is a good case of it#i have a little au in my head of Transformers using wings to communicate for those selectively mute#handspeak is a thing but sometimes the feel of skin (metal) contact is also too overwhelming#anyways#transformers#tf prowl#prowl

The original “substrate” - the bottom layer - provides the plane and the body of Rex Reason, which must be joined up with the head of Nelson Brenner as he would have looked “15 years ago” (i.e. in 1960). The picture chosen to represent the facial features of the younger Brenner (though not his hair) is a 1965 portrait of the actor Patrick McGoohan, as he appeared in an episode of Danger Man (Loyalty Always Pays). Aside from the incorrect age gap, the new head is too large for its adopted body and sits uncomfortably on Rex Reason’s shoulders at an anatomically impossible angle (with barely a neck to speak of).
The contortions do not end there, however, as the youthful image of Nelson Brenner must clearly display his receding hairline – the third layer to be added to the composition. For the “enlarged” close-up that Columbo presents as “evidence” in the final “gotcha” scene, the hairline was completely redrawn with a new left-sided parting, and the entire image inexplicably rasterized. No changes were made to the face itself, its size or its angle in relation to the rest of the body.
For the fifth and final transformation, Columbo’s “photo guys” went to work on the close-up and added features from the description that their witness gave them of the mysterious “operative” (code)named Steinmetz – and young Nelson Brenner, already follicly challenged, becomes an elderly gentleman, bearded and bespectacled, who is peering at the onlooker from underneath a set of bushy white eyebrows topped by the shiny expanse of his formidable forehead. (3/4)
#Patrick McGoohan#Peter Falk#Columbo#Identity Crisis#Nelson Brenner#is not a character for whom I have a natural affinity#or any other kind for that matter#in fact I would go so far as to posit that he was#conceived as a vehicle a device to move the plot along#born out of the need to create a murder mystery#in other words he is a construct not a character#that said we still need the actor’s and the director’s input#to bring the concept to life though in this case the project#was doomed from the get-go for one thing#bringing a concept to life is tricky at best#but but when actors and the director communicate with each other#and with the audience about their characters rather than through them#we are approaching shark-jumping territory#then again Columbo’s examination of Brenner’s trophies#is an excellent example of actors using their familiarity#with the subject#the role#the terrain in short their intuition#to improve on the less than intuitive dialogue of the written script#even though of course there are some awkward blunders#we’ll get to those promise

hello. I think at one point a long time ago you shared the name of a good voice changer but I don’t remember what it was. I have some anxiety with ranked ovw as a woman so lol.. if you could please share it again I’ll be very grateful! thank you
I used to use the paid version of voicemod! At the time it was a cheap one time payment, so hopefully it still is today. There are presets but you definitely need to modify them yourself or else it won't be believable at all. Try to get a friends help. The goal isn't to sound like a guy if you're just trying to avoid harassment - the goal is to sound ambiguous but to let the subconscious assumption that most #Gamers are dudes fill in the blank from neutral -> just some dude. Also if someone notices just pretend you're mildly offended, that you're gay/young/whatever
#I had to modify it myself so it was p hard <- I did everything anonymously even to this day my closest friends do not know my main#but a lot of it does require making sure you mute before you laugh and possibly just trying to be a little more monotone in your voice. at#least in my experience those were necessary#Good luck anon! be sure to change it to you default communications device in your comp settings and then change your input in game to#communications device too! set your discord or whatever to remain default and this way you'll only be heard 'as a guy' in game <3
