Learning about Intel Core i7-14700KF specifications

Arriving Intel Core i7–14700KF Nears 6 GHz in New Benchmark The Raptor Lake Refresh Core i7–14700KF from Intel was discovered with clock speeds identical to the i9–13900KS from the prior iteration.

BenchLeaks discovered Intel’s forthcoming Raptor Lake Refresh Core i7–14700KF CPU running at almost 6 GHz on Geekbench. The processor performs substantially better than its predecessor in Geekbench, with a score that is similar to Intel’s top-of-the-line Core i9–13900KS. The Core i7 14700KF outperformed the Core i7–13700K by 9% in the single-core benchmark and 18% in the multi-core benchmark on Geekbench 6. It earned 3092 points in the single-core benchmark and 21713 points in the multi-core benchmark, respectively.

With just a 2.4% performance difference between them, the Core i7–14700K and Core i9–13900KS have similar multi-core test results. However, the single-core test still favours the Core i9–13900KS, as it is 9% faster.

The Core i7–14700K’s clock speed, which reportedly peaked at 5.985 GHz during the test, is the highlight. Since the Core i9–13900KS is the only Intel CPU to date with a turbo frequency of 6 GHz without the aid of overclocking, the extraordinarily high clock speed is identical to that of that processor.

The fact that the Core i7–14700K/KF is operating at almost 6 GHz shows that Intel had more headroom than anticipated in its Raptor Lake Refresh. For Intel’s planned 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh components, which are apparently being priced higher than Raptor Lake, having more frequency headroom would be very helpful. If Intel wants to draw customers to its 14th-gen CPUs, its new components must be noticeably faster.

Intel 13th/14th Gen CPU Owners

There is a manufacturing defect in some portion of these generation CPU's that will cause these CPU's to fail prematurely. Intel has stated this was a manufacturing issue that was fixed in 2023 and that there will be a microcode update that will address this issue. Interesting video on it here, but this will often show up as an "Out of video memory" error or, in unreal engine based games, "DecompressShader(): Could not decompress shader" error message. Intel is planning to release a microcode update in mid august to address this issue, so if you have these chips, please keep an eye open for that and update accordingly. Some motherboard manufacturers have released settings to handle this by, as I understand it, under volting the CPU on the bios level. MSI has their stop gap measure listed here, I did not look further but I believe other Mobo manufacturers have also released their own stop gap measures.

If you have one of these gen chips and are experiencing issues, I strongly suggest implementing these stop gap issues and applying the microcode update when it is released in August. Please share this for visibility to help others implement this stop gap measure before their CPU is irreversibly damaged. 💜

Edit: If you are unsure what generation of CPU you have, you can open file explorer, right click and go to properties, and your processor will be listed there. 13xxx and 14xxx chip generations are the possibly impacted generations, though they did state this mostly impacts the 700 and 900 line of chips. (13700, 13900, 14700, 14900 + whatever letters of that specific chip subtype.)

So I have a lot of headcannons for 106, and basically all of them were caused domino-style by one fucking intel log. The first one in the first level, the one that says 106 has a "massive dopamine spike from causing harm to our guards".

I saw that and my brain has been unable to move on since.

Because that means 106 isnt just a sadist who loves hurting people, he is biologically hardwired to be a sadist who loves hurting people. It's in his DNA, he was made like that, he can't help it and it isnt his fault.

All of this has let to my interpenetration of 106 as not just a very effective soldier, but as an outright creature. This is an apex predator bred to hunt humans, a killing machine a jurassic park raptor a carnivorous beast a science vampire a biofreak.

And if you think about it, it's kind of sad, that this guy who is fully capable of thought and is a complete person has been built from the DNA up to be incapable of functioning outside of warfare. Even if he wanted a different life, could he manage it? Would his instinctual need for violence ruin it for him? Would he pace his enclosure like an under-enriched zoo animal until something snapped?

And obviously people with violent intrusive thoughts still function in society, I don't want to imply that being inclined towards sadism or a lack of empathy makes you inhuman because it doesn't. 106 is still a person, but he was also made in a lab be a predator wearing the skin of its prey. He's stuck here, stuck as the thing he was made to be, and that's tragic...

But, yknow, its also rad as shit, because 106 is a Swag Beast TM and he deserves to shoot people's brains out and rip people in half and eat their hearts. For enrichment :)

I’ve been watching the new zombies trailer over and over again. This will be a long post about it, if you haven’t seen it then spoiler warning!

I feel like them showing Weavers room in-depth like this is building towards the shared hatred that him and Edward Richtofen have for one another now. His name is etched in the wall much more deeply than anything else, and very noticeably too. Also:

Smaller things I noticed were what I think is a name “Harry”(?) etched out in the wall. There’s a rumor Weaver accidentally killed Richtofen’s son and wife. It is at least confirmed that Weaver did accidentally kill a kid in the BOCW zombies intel where he claimed he didn’t know the kid was there and was very distraught as Maxis comforted him.

The date might just be the day they were taken into the terminus facility. I just thought it stood out. Along with the saying above the coatrack thing. “I will have no dreams in breathless…(slumber?)” I can’t make out the last word quite well but slumber is my best guess.

Also just a cool note is that it appears that Weaver is actually a decent artist. Just a fun little piece of info I like to see.

I also wonder what exactly the two weapons are pointed towards? Perhaps a metaphor for Richtofen or perhaps he’s just gone insane. If anyone understands Russian and can translate the text I’d be very appreciative ❤️

Grey, Carver, and Raptor one all look amazing and surprisingly built for their situation. Then again this is cod lol. I know in Carvers report he would hold little training sessions to keep moral up so it seemed to work. Also Raptor One’s smile looks like that Mewing meme and I can’t get it out of my head. His name was allegedly revealed to be Stoney Maddox

I’m really excited for Maya and what she will bring to the story. I also want to know who her brother is and how he potentially ended up on Richtofen’s shit list. Also she’s kinda cute like 👀

Here is an excerpt from Chapter 14 in Legacy of the Fallen. Just some fun banter for you today.

Ryan felt a curious grin ticking across his face, turning back to face forward. “Ready to get back into action?” He asked Amber, tilting his head with his eyes tracking the path of a raptor too far away to identify.

“Not much action here,” her dark eyes darted to him for a split second. “You know I didn’t expect my act of sticking it to Maishear to be driving into town to pick up a kid from school.”

“You never know,” He stretched his arms out before him, feeling his shoulder pop as he did so. “Last time we had a load of fun.” He swung his head to face her.

She pursed her lips with a hum, tapping her fingers lightly on the steering wheel. “It sure looked like you did.” She cleared her throat quietly. “At least I’m off house arrest for a couple of hours.”

Ryan rolled his eyes. “You have to put it that way, don’t you?”

“What other way is there?” she shrugged, face impassive. “He forbade me from leaving, shut me out of inter-observance intel, and won’t even let me watch that giant gate of his. You could call it something else, but it’s really a hard sell to make.”

“You’re here though,” Ryan pointed out. “You didn’t have to break through bars or fight the army to drive away. This has to be at least somewhat appealing, considering that you actually woke up early without wanting to kill somebody.”

“See it how you please, I’m here because Cameron asked me to be,” she returned, reaching up to smooth her already tight ponytail. “I agonized over whether I should help out your little issue,” she drawled. “Waking up at four, defying the all-powerful and ever so wise headmaster, spending over thirty minutes with you- in a car to boot…” Sarcasm rang through her droning words. “I wondered if I, the perfect golden child, would have the courage to defy everything I stand for. But then I remembered how you all would worship me when I lead and taught all of you; giving me food, offering favors, and telling me how wonderful I am. Besides, it gives me the perfect opportunity to welcome my beloved brother home while he’s not drooling onto himself.”

Ryan covered his laugh with a cough, ignoring the bitter tone of the last part of what she said. In the back seat, he could see how Ben had turned away from the window to stare ahead in concern. “If you’re looking for something from me,” Ryan remarked. “You know I hate to disappoint you, but you have to take it up with Cameron.”

“Oh no!” She gasped mockingly. “What makes you think I’d expect anything from you all? After all, I’m doing this from the kindness in my heart. To say such a thing is an insult to my integrity. But if I asked, what do you think he’d do for me?” Her voice dropped back down from the high tone she had been using.

“I don’t know,” Ryan threw his hands in the air as he slouched in the seat. “I can’t read his mind, I don’t think I want to either. He needs to take a chill pill and maybe find someone special to spend time with rather than study and practice all the time.”

“Maybe I could get him to do my dishes for a month,” Amber mused as though he hadn’t spoken. “But then again, he likes doing that, so that’s not going to work.”

“Laundry?” Ryan suggested.

“No,” Amber shook her head as they slowed for a red light. “He’d like that too; besides, he’d just read or something while it’s running.” The car was silent for a minute before a slap on the steering wheel made Ryan jolt up in his seat. “I could make him rearrange our furniture!” She exclaimed proudly. “It just feels like it could be better than it is right now.”

“I’d love to see the look on his face when you use that reasoning with him.” A mental picture of Cameron dragging a couch with an exasperated expression was too good to pass on. “Can I be there?”
