Das gibt es also immer noch. Wie in den Nuller Jahren!
Tumblr media

92% of US households have an internet connection at home
Tumblr media
92% of US households have an internet connection at home. Broadband Subscribers are Generally Content with Their Service. Durham, NH – December 11, 2023 - New consumer research from Leichtman Research Group, Inc. (LRG) found that 92% of U.S. households get an Internet service at home, compared to 83% in 2018 and 76% in 2008. Broadband accounts for 98% of households with an Internet service at home, and 90% of all households get a broadband Internet service – an increase from 81% in 2018 and 57% in 2008. The research also found that 60% of broadband subscribers are very satisfied (8-10 on a 1-10 scale) with their internet connection at home, while 5% are not satisfied (1-3). Satisfaction with broadband is as high as in any year in the past decade, and compares to 53% who reported being very satisfied in 2018 and 59% in 2013. These findings are based on a survey of 1,767 households from throughout the United States and are part of a new LRG study, Broadband Internet in the U.S. 2023. This is LRG’s twenty-first annual study on this topic. Other related findings include: - 70% of broadband subscribers agree (8-10) that their Internet service meets the needs of their household, while 5% disagree (1-3) - 64% of broadband subscribers rate the quality of the speed of their Internet connection 8-10 (with 10 being excellent), higher than any year in the past decade, including 53% in 2018 and 58% in 2013. Just 3% rate speed 1-3 (with 1 being poor) - 42% of broadband subscribers do not know the download speed of their service – compared to 59% in 2018 - 22% of broadband subscribers report that their provider is the only one available in their area – compared to 27% in 2021 - 87% of households use at least one laptop or desktop computer, and 96% of this group get an Internet service at home - Those that do not use a laptop or desktop computer at home account for 64% of all that do not get an Internet service at home “The percentage of households getting an Internet service at home, including high-speed broadband, reached an all-time high over the past year. This year’s study found that 92% of households get an Internet service at home, an increase from 85% in pre-pandemic 2019,” said Bruce Leichtman, president and principal analyst for Leichtman Research Group, Inc. “Broadband subscribers are generally content with their services, with 60% reporting that they are very satisfied overall, and 70% agreeing that their Internet service meets the needs of their household.” Leichtman Research Group, Inc. (LRG) specializes in research and analysis on the broadband, media and entertainment industries Read the full article

As the ides of march approaches this is your friendly neighborhood reminder to STOP FED POSTING FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. For those of you who apparently missed the internet is forever lesson, the NSA exists for a reason. And if you think that you won't be put on some watch list for saying shit online you are naive. Especially under this current administration. Certain things need to be inside thoughts.

ID. Text of a tumblr post with a cropped screenshot: No i do think it’s maybe a bad idea to bring cishet men into most queer spaces, and i think it’s weird to use the presence of like. Privileged opressor groups as an indicator of how accepting a queer space is instead of how neutered and unsafe it is. Would you measure the inclusivity of non-white spaces by the presence of black women or by the presence of white men? Would you measure the safety of neurodivergent spaces by the presence of neurodivergent people or by the presence of parents of autistic children? Are you fucking stupid? End ID.]
Tumblr media
Friendly reminder that "cishet man" or what you might think is one include:
Ace men
Intersex men
Gender-questioning people who want to explore a queer space
Aro men
Aspec men in general
Nonbinary men
Stealth trans men who don't want to out themselves for whatever reason
Closeted transfems/women/etc who don't want to out themselves for whatever reason
Intersex men who want to get in touch with their community
Supporting friends/partners or relatives of a person who was too nervous to go by themselves
Caretakers of a disabled person who doesn't need to disclose they're caretakers to you because it isn't your business
Non-queer man who is not here for any of the reasons above but wants to show his support
(Maybe to you I sound nitpicky like "comeon 'cishet' obv doesn't include intersex but i kid you not tons of these examples above are very likely to look and act the exact. same.)
Like. You cannot single out an entire group of people from queer spaces just because they are "the oppressor class". What, are they gonna harm everyone in there?? Because of their inhate tendency to oppress? Some people are there to learn.
I get it that you say "most" and not "all" but like comeon.
(You don't "have to include" a fuckton of non-queer people in queer events but maybe. Maybe don't shut out an entire group of possible allies and eggs and questioning people???? If a person is causing harm then by all means get them the fuck out but you can't "antecipate" that, not by history, not by vibed and definitely not by gender and "cishet" status.)

I am giving in, it's time to share my sparkledog au ✨️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've talked quietly about this on this blog before, and I've been drawing them for a year-ish now. I never posted them cause it's niche and idk if its something people care about, But it's my blog I will post sparkle dog au if I want lol
Anyway, welcome to sparkle dog au, where Tome and Shou have silly sparkle dog ocs and slowly drag all of their friends into making their own (or forcibly designing one and then begging them to entertain the idea). It's a self indulgent au, this is the type of kid I was at this age and it's fun to think about what it would be like if the mp100 kids were too. They are all partly based on my experiences, design preferences, types of things I'd draw, and actual childhood art and ocs from when I was in middle school. It's really just about the silly art the gang might make of their sparkledogs.
I had a hard time trying to come up with names for most of these guys tbh, so most are unamed/i refer to them but their actual name. BUT Tome's character is Orbit, Mob is just Mob, and Inukawa's is Pixel! Every single one has a ref made or in wip stage, from the main kids, telepathy club, the girls, etc. Idk if I'll post the refs, they mostly serve as a guide for me to make art, just know I'm losing my mind in mp100 sparkledog hell.
Below the cut are some of the first drawings I did. I used the lineart of my real middle school art, all ranging from 2011-2015

quick rant, i cannot believe the "the youth doesn't see The Difference between Internet and reality!" is still so common in media
because yes, we can differentiate between what's happening online and offline, it's easy to do so, but those worlds intertwine in our lives to the degree that there's little reason to do that. there's danger in that, absolutely, don't get me wrong. but even if the medium is totally different, the people are the same. and online is "reality", or at least affects our lives in a way that arguing otherwise would require bad faith.
they're correct the internet rots brains, but their work to that conclusion is paved with fear of being left behind and feelings of superiority, and not, you know, understanding of the topic
