New headcanon accepted. 👍 I do have some additions though. Whether or not people put chu jelly into food is a debate I will not involve myself in for the general population, but I seriously doubt it's in the elixir soup. Wind makes an "ew" face at any potion he drinks, so chu jelly must not have a pleasant flavor. I suppose this could be overcome with other ingredients, but I'm hesitant about that.

That wasn't my main addition though! My main addition is some extra food options! This is from the Encyclopedia, so take it with a grain of (sea) salt, but it says the soup is made from "pork, corn, and other delicious ingredients." So they might have corn, even if we don't see it. It seems odd to have corn when we have no fields, but sometimes you find rice or wheat when you cut grass in BOTW, so I don't think it's too farfetched. After all, coffee was mentioned earlier as being at the cafe. Interestingly, Lon Lon Milk is also sold at the cafe. Where are the cows? Maybe they live in hidden grottos like in OoT? The cafe menu also features Deku seed cake. And maybe you can eat hyoi pears? Seems dubious, but no more dubious than some of the other things we've talked about.

I also figure it's likely that fruit and coconuts (and coconut water) are also common edibles/drinkables. I don't think there's direct evidence of this, but I don't see why they wouldn't have such items available.

About octos for food: in Tri Force Heroes, Octorok suckers are described as a "A Drablands delicacy! Eat it raw or cook it to perfection."

There are no tektites in Wind Waker, but in Minish Cap there is a character who says, "So, what'll it be tonight? We haven't had Tektite souffle in ages..." I like to imagine it tasting like crab. 😋 So monsters can be a tasty food source!

theres a lot of emphasis on seafood in fanon but in reality there are NO fish out there to be eaten.

on the other hand, both pigs and crabs look pretty abundant, so i think theyre used as the main sources of protein ^.^ seagulls are a potential too but i feel the other two options are easier and quicker to capture and prep. seagulls are prob mostly esten by seafarers that didn't ration their supplies very well

iii can see a lot of soups stews and hotpots being a staple in the average great sea inhabitant's diet, obv the Main food item we see is grandma's soup which helps 👍 i personally think her soup is some sort of red lentil soup, with crabmeat and spices and a teeny bit of blue chu jelly ^_^ blue chus are super rare so grandma was saving it for link's birthday treat :)

something to be said abt the elixir soup is how it acts like a blue potion, so i can for sure see islanders using chu jelly in food and beverages rather than Solely for potionmaking, especially bc of how many places chus spawn . i think theyd be good for making a sweet treat ^_^

more onto drinks, ww had a coffee shop! explicitly saying that it has coffee and coffee beans too 🥳🥳🥳 it's particularly fun bc irl pirates had a history of drinking coffee a lot lol

i dont have any real problems with the bimbocore aesthetic but i do think its funny when someone says theyre doing it as a radical reclaimation of feminine stereotypes and theyre just like. wearing a fairly normal pink outfit. girl you need to bring the energy of a drag queen to it. i want you to go so far in hyperfeminine that it cant be mistaken for anything other than performance art. you've gotta actively repulse the sapiosexual tech bros who fantasize about tradwives. whole ass or go home.

I already commented on this, but I wanted to reblog it too, because it's relevant to the cast of heroes I have.

I agree with this 100%. Even if it's in the Historia, the manga that "First" comes from isn't canon. It's just a story the mangaka came up with for the book. The book itself says so. I don't mind "First" enjoyers, (I read those fics sometimes, too, and he looks really cool,) but there is a bit of a misunderstanding here, I think.

"We really wracked our brains even more than we usually do for the comic versions, trying to come up with something that was worthy of the twenty-fifth anniversary and connected to Skyward Sword but would be all settled in thirty-two Pages."

So I’m probably in the minority, but I think Sky is the first Link. The one that got alluded to at the beginning of his own game. The one who originally fought Demise with Hylia.

Like this is not even secret. We play that part in the past. We fight through the literal armies singlehandedly to reach Zelda and beat Demise. We ARE the hero who has a Crimson Loftwing, forged the Master Sword, reformed the Triforce, and defeated and sealed Demise so the only thing left in the present was a wriggling monster finally destroyed via liberal application of goddess statue.

While “First” is a neat headcanon, I much prefer Sky being the first Link. Not serving out of bitterness and duty to the land, but from love and friendship. Not betrayed by his people but raised by and beloved of them. Forged not by suffering but by kindness. Sky fought for his people. Sky fought for Sun. And that’s what a Link is—not just a good fighter, but someone who stops to find a lost child, rescue a pet, soothe a baby, listen to the heartbroken, ease a ghost’s regrets, even to find an idiot who got lost in the desert… again… all while chasing and fighting Ganon across centuries.

I am of course a fake fan because I haven't seen the new(?) movie with Ryan Gosling in it. I also keep forgetting Mr. Gosling's name. I DO remember he was in "Driver" so my brain fixates on that detail & goes "yep, that's Adam Driver, we know him." Not right! That's the guy from Star Was.
