Okay. Since we're going over all the takes on Mr. X at this point.. What if his powers really don't have a backside. What if (the state of) his normal life is the backside.

What if his normal life is akin to that of heroes where he has to pretend to be something he's not and follow rules that the people who control his life came up with to further their own goals. What if he can only be free of other people's beliefs and expectations when he's a hero.

What if in reality he truly is like everyone else. The other heroes. The ordinary people. All those who work themselves to the bone, who are tired and overworked and sick of all the exploitation...

in my personal opinion, a large part of what has coloured the narrative tone of campaign 3 is the behind-the-scenes stuff going on at Critical Role. and i don't mean politics or personal stuff or anything like that. i mean copyright and trademark protection stuff.

there was a time when matt could call each and every god in exandria's pantheon by the names used in the source material he was pulling from. the dawnfather was pelor, the everlight was sarenrae, the whispered one was vecna. it didn't matter that that he was pulling from another source material for his homebrew, until it did. it probably started to matter in or around 2018, when Critical Role moved away from Geek and Sundry and opened its own studio.

this is most likely why daggerheart as a new world-setting disconnected from the primary sources of DnD lore exists to some degree. so that Critical Role, as an independent company, can continue without having to worry about stepping on other, much larger companies' toes and invoking their wrath. campaign 3 wasn't just about playing DnD anymore, narrative consequences and all. it was about getting the world of exandria to a state where it could transition to CR's own intellectual property.

Guys. Guys Ben Drowned's canon last name isn't actually Lawman

I've known this for a while, and more I think about it, the more it makes me feel like I should say something 😭

It was a misconception that started with an older version of Ben's page on the Jadusable Wiki. (It was never used for any non-ARG version of Ben prior to this.) I remember spotting Lawman being used as Ben's last name around 2016-2018 or so, and it has been edited out of his page since 2020. (It was on the page they have for the dead child rather than the Network/entity. I think it might've happened before they moved off Fandom wiki, because I think I remember seeing comments and their new wiki doesn't have those).

During the second arc (2011-2012), Jadusable mailed some bonus material to people who donated to him. One of these bonus materials was a section from a newspaper, which describes the murder-suicide of two members of the Lawman family along with their son, with some tampering to the article that appears to have been done by BEN.

You can zoom into the image and read it, or check out it's page on the wiki here (which I highly recommend as it has some added information, like what all the censored words are.) It's a very interesting piece of lore that's fun to analyze--however, I wouldn't recommend reading it if you're super squeamish or sensitive to graphic details related to death. (The method of the killing itself isn't mentioned.)

While this seems to be about Ben on the surface, it's actually not. The only way we can tell is by the date of the newspaper: In the column to the left of the "Spring Is In The Air!" paragraph, the year 2011 is mentioned, but we know that Ben died on 4/23/2004. The wording of the Lawman event feels recent (as if they're talking about an event a few months prior), when Ben's death would've been far gone by now.

With what's likely BEN tampering on the top right (where they creatively use block-out poetry to say "You shouldn't have done that," among many other things) combined with the mention of someone's son dying, it makes a ton of sense that the wiki editors assumed that Ben is a member of this Lawman family that appears here. At some point, screenshots of the wiki ended up being circulated and the larger Creepypasta fandom accepted Lawman as being Ben's "real" last name.

Lawman is actually the last name of a different (and much less relevant) character, Tyler, who appears briefly in the first and third arcs. It's not entirely clear what happened to him or his family, and I think the Newspaper Article is intended to be fun bonus material for Jadusable's donators rather than something that's meant to supply important information about the ARG characters--something like Ben's last name would be crucial for puzzles and passwords, and would give the 50 donators who received the article an unfair advantage (and Jadusable isn't the type of creator who'd be okay with that). Regardless, it carries some interesting implications about the Behavioral Event Network, and Matt's initials are also here for some reason. It's probably one of the most head-spinning materials in the whole game.

Ateez Basics for new Atiny!

Ateez is an 8 member South Korean boy group that debuted on October 24th, 2018, they come from the company KQ Entertainment, they were KQ's first trainees.

Pronounced Ae-Teez, meaning they can do everything from A to Z (we do not call them by their government name so this is the explanation we stick with). Fandom name is Atiny, which means Ateez+Destiny, pronounced Ae-Teeny.

Ateez have a long and complicated lore that you don't need to try to understand if you don't want to. Most of their music videos tell a story and it is fun to put together, fans have made explanations and guide videos for the lore if you want to get into it. But basically they're pirates that have taken over an oppressive government and you'll see lots of pirate themes throughout.

Ateez's introduction is "8 Makes 1 Team". Hongjoong made them all matching team rings.

•Hongjoong is a supporter of multiple organizations like The Polished Man Campaign to end violence against children, you will see Hongjoong always having at least one polished nail, and The Happy Hippie Foundation that helps Homeless and LGBTQ+ Youth.

•Park Seong Hwa (박성화) ⭐

•Born in Jinju, Gyeongnam, South Korea on April 3rd, 1998, he is the oldest member.

•Height: 178cm (5’10)

•Vocalist, Rapper, Dancer, Performer, Songwriter, Actor.

•Seonghwa was the fifth trainee at KQ.

•Seonghwa was in the K-Drama series 'Imitation' in 2021.

•Seonghwa and Hongjoong's pairing name is Matz, they created the name for themselves, it basically means eldests, they created a unit song with the same name.

•Jeong Yun Ho (정윤호) 🐶

•Born in Gwangju, South Korea on March 23rd, 1999, he is the third oldest member.

•Height: 186cm (6’1) (I actually think he's taller but this is the last height we know of)

•Vocalist, Dancer, Performer, Songwriter, Composer, Actor.

•Yunho was the second trainee at KQ.

•Yunho was in the K-Drama series 'Imitation' in 2021, and has expressed wanting to act again someday.

•Kang Yeo Sang (강여상) 👑

•Born in Pohang, South Korea on June 15th, 1999, he is the fourth oldest member.

•Height: 175cm (5’9)

•Vocalist, Dancer, Rapper, Performer, Songwriter.

•Yeosang was the sixth trainee at KQ.

•Yeosang was a trainee at BigHit (now Hybe).

•Six other companies wanted Yeosang to sign with them but he chose KQ.

•Choi San (최산) ⛰

• Born in Namhae, South Gyeongsan, South Korea on July 10th, 1999, he is the fifth oldest member.

•Height: 178cm (5’10)

•Vocalist, Dancer, Performer, Songwriter, Actor.

•San was the fourth trainee at KQ.

•San was in the K-Drama series 'Imitation' in 2021.

•San is the first Idol from Namhae.

•San and Wooyoung's pairing name is Woosan (☂️), which you'll hear them refer to themselves a lot, even introducing themselves as Woosan instead of their own names.

•San and Wooyoung have matching tattoos above their right knee that says "Amicus Ad Aras" which is Latin for "Friends To The Very End."

•Song Min Gi (송민기) 🐥

• Born in Incheon, South Korea on August 9th, 1999, he is the sixth oldest member.

•Height: 184cm (6'0)

•Rapper, Dancer, Vocalist, Songwriter, Composer, Producer, Performer.

•Mingi was the third trainee at KQ.

•Mingi and Yunho were friends for several years before they both auditioned for KQ without the other knowing which company it was until they saw each other in the KQ building.

•Jung Woo Young (정우영) 🐱

•Born in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea on November 26th, 1999, he is the seventh oldest member.

•Height: 173cm (5'8)

•Vocalist, Dancer, Songwriter, Performer.

•Wooyoung was the eighth trainee at KQ and the last member to join Ateez.

•Wooyoung and Yeosang met while they were both trainees at BigHit, Yeosang left for KQ and Wooyoung followed him as he wanted to debut together.

•Choi Jong Ho (최종호) 🐻

•Born In Ilsan, South Korea on October 12th, 2000, he is the youngest member.

•Height: 176cm (5'9)

•Jongho was the seventh trainee at KQ.

•Jongho and San found out they are distant relatives as they both come from the same Choi Clan.

Spring through the Seasons AU - The beginning

I thought I'd just provide some of the sketches that show the main idea behind the story of this AU with something that isn't just a simple description of events that take place in it. (So yeah, the sketches are incorporated between the text if you are more interested in the art and not the story.) Depending on future posts, there may be also some sketches with simple description texts. It will basically depend on what I'm in the mood for and what fits the situation better. But either way, have fun with what could be considered the prologue for this AU.

A strong wind blows through the colorful treetops, making them rustle and tugging at their leaves, detaching them from their home and dragging them far away. The ruler of this realm watches the eternal bustle in solitude. Twirling a fallen maple leaf between his fingers, he stares out at the lake and the small island in its center. Once more, as he had done so often lately, he wondered if there was anyone out there beyond the wild animals. Someone he could talk to. But the little rafts he had built out of sticks and sent out on the lake in the hope that someone would find them didn't seem to have arrived anywhere. Or… simply hadn't been discovered. But perhaps there was just no one left but him. His second attempt, the journey to the border of his realm, had only led him to an unclimbable cliff of cold and smooth stone, while a storm like he had never seen before - white and icy cold - had blocked his vision and chased him back again deeper into his own realm. After encountering this massive obstacle, he had given up trying to explore the other border of his home to save himself from further disappointment. And yet… he still hoped that someone would come and find him.

Slowly, his fingers open. Releasing the leaf in his hands and allowing the wind to take it on a journey that he can not go on. Perhaps it will find it's way beyond the borders of his homeland.

It all started with one fallen red leaf brought to your little world by the stormy autumn winds coming from across the island.

Dancing in the wind, it made its way across the clear spring sky. Bright red, like the shell of a ladybug. You had never seen anything like it before. The leaves of the trees and bushes in your home coming all in a variety of shades of fresh, bright green.

You stare up in fascination, following the strange leaf as it sinks lower and lower until you only have to reach out your hands to catch it.

Where could it have come from? Did it come from the white lands in the west? Or the dark green forests from the east? Or… perhaps from even further away? Your imagination runs wild as you try to imagine how a crown of leaves covered in crimson might look.

There was a strange urge in your chest that you had never felt before. You wanted to see it with your own eyes. The place where this leaf came from…

"I don't care about the kid okay..." He said quite bluntly. "I just..." Silas seemed suddenly lost for words, his ears drooped further as he searched for an explanation. "It's just..."

"When Lune says something... he's just being honest with me. Sure it might really hurt in the moment... but at least I know he's not judging me without a good fuckin' reason." "But everyone else? Everyone else always assumes the worst of me. What else am I supposed to do...? I already proved that they should, there ain't no going back now. " He sighed before turning away. "I- ...Look it doesn't matter alright? Right now I have other shit I should be doing."

"I'm tired of it and his life matters more right now... that kids familiar can only do so much. If he was a human... he would have healed by now. But... that's my fault too. Just like everything around this fuckin' place." He huffed, he didn't have time to linger on this any longer. "I gotta go." As it did a moment ago Silas' illusion began to appear, this time with an intention. His familiar features were quick to shift into something more basic and feral.

And just as it appeared the illusion flashed a grin.

"Do me a favour alright~? Don't touch Lune."

-> Seems Silas has wandered off to somewhere unknown... -> "Chapter 1: The Introduction" has ended.
