Darry/Ponyboy and Dally/Johnny parallels

When the Curtis Parents died, Darry did everything to keep his brothers together. He provided them a house and food over their heads. He’s stressed and that causes him to treat Pony differently than before because he wants what is best for his little brother. He’s in charge now and he feels obligated to make something out of him, something that Darry could never be.

When Johnny came to Dally after he killed Bob, Dally provided him with some money for food and a place to hideout. But when Johnny wanted to go back, there was a side of Dallas Winston that never appeared before. He begged Johnny not to go back to Tulsa because jail changes people and he didn't want Johnny to turn out like himself. According to Pony, whatever decision Dally told Johnny to do, Johnny would have did it because his word is law.

When Ponyboy ran away, Darry was miserable. In the musical, he wanted to give up, throw in the towel because this ontop of everything else was too much for a 20-year-old to handle. Thank goodness Sodapop was there to assure him that he wasn't alone and that Darry needed to keep his spirit alive and fighting. When Ponyboy met him at the hospital, it was the first time Pony had ever seen him cry.

When Johnny dies, Dallas is obviously a wreck. Ponyboy says that Dally’s face was sweaty, but what if that was an unreliable narrator talking and Dally was actually crying? (Just watch a clip of “Little Brother” and look at Joshua Boone! Musical Dally IS crying.) He didn't know how to cope with this much despair and why did the world matter if Johnny Cade wasn't in it? There was no one there to keep Dally afloat, except maybe Johnny’s words to him in the letter. Words, how little they mean when they're a little too late.

They are two older brothers just doing everything in their power to protect their little brother.

it’s like…perry and leo were fully assimilated into the usher way of life. they were introduced to this world of luxury and abundance and they took it all and never gave back. they became ushers in every sense.

then there’s camille and vic who kept their names. it’s like madeline said — she didn’t want any of it if it involved being shackled to a man. vic had her work which could have done so much good, and it would have happened under victorine lafourcade, not victorine usher. roderick’s name wouldn’t be (entirely) dominating the headlines.

then there’s camille who roderick keeps a very close eye on by placing her behind the scenes. she leads her entire life in service to fortunato and the usher name, but in reality she is not camille usher, she is camille l’espanaye.

this even goes for tam in a way - her product is faced by bill but when that falls apart she decides - fuck it, i’ll do it myself. obviously that doesn’t work out - it doesn’t work out for any of the women.

they try creating their own identities outside of roderick usher, but in the end it all comes back to him.

I was thinking and couldn’t figure out who is more suitable for the role of Cat Blanc. On the one hand, this is obvious to Kokichi since he has the miraculous of a cat and this is more like him, so to speak. But on the other hand, the main point of the Cat Blanc episode was to give Marinette a justification for her paranoia about their secret identities. Causing her to push Cat away. Now that sounds like Kokichi. Anyway, just food for thought, Have a nice day!

first of all thanks for the ask !! i love yapping !!

second !! one of my biggest gripes about miraculous is that ive always felt that chat noir is treated like a glorified sidekick . they make a big fuss about the " balance of the universe " being repressed by the black cat and the ladybug and yet its so clear that in the show's eyes the ladybug is way more important !!

some of this is just that marinette is just more of a leader/planner than adrien , butttt in the case of kaito and kokichi , theyre both planners and leaders in their own right ( i mean. obviously ) so !! i think that is an interesting dynamic to play with !!

in all honesty , i really see kokichi being more concerned over secret identities !! i mean , kaito is big on trust and kokichi is simply not .

all that being said , if one of them were to be akumatized , it would probably be kaito . he's simply more likely to be overcome by emotion , as kokichi is pretty good at burying that shit down . ( tho i think kaito is too , but that's a discussion for another day . )

i absolulty love that Magnus isn't the group's leader at all, he's not your typical main charicter

shure, he got the proficy and stuff,

but the role of the leader could easly go to any of the other charicters.

and it's also specifically stated that Magnus Chase isn't their leader, he's their flyter.

and with the normal five - man - band arcitype, you'd put that role would be put to the mentor, or the lancer, maby even the smart guy.

with the leader looking on in humility like: 'Wow, im friends with that person. you go girl'

and I think Magnus really fits the role of the lancer more than any other of the roles. All be it, more moral

he's up to follow what his firends tell him to do, but he can formulate plans if he needs to.

and i think that's pretty cool
