Maybe I'll make a post on this at some point but like, something deeply fucked up about TNP and Po3 that people have totally forgotten about is how badly they try to whine that "Tigerstar Had Good Traits :("
Firestar does it, Brambleclaw does it, and they keep doing this after it becomes this GRAND irony that Firestar almost gets Tiger'd to death in a fox trap because he was too trusting. Bramble gets his pity award of keeping deputyship and then cries to his son about how No One Saw The Good In Tigerstar :(
And it's wiiiiild that no one else in this fandom has done anything with the fact that Leopardstar broke the Warrior Code to appoint Hawkfrost, who had no apprentice, an extremely aggressive and warmongering Tigerclone who says things like "Tigerstar wasn't the worst cat to look up to." ONLY qualifying trait was being kinda like Tigerstar.
And she practically did that the SECOND Mistyfoot went missing. And then Leopardstar continued to be one of the most violent and xenophobic leaders through Po3, joining with WindClan to attack ThunderClan.
What I'm getting at is that like, a few years ago, with books like "Blackfoot's Reckoning" and "Shadow in RiverClan" it's like they suddenly decided to retcon in a bunch of "redemption arcs" in hindsight. They just pretended like there was this grand high reckoning with TigerClan, when there literally wasn't, and if anything that caused SERIOUS problems for the cast that the authors didn't fully acknowledge as such.
And now ppl haven't actually read the main series and are just working with their recent memory of all these retcon books.
But TNP and PO3 are still there, and you can go and see the ACTUAL timeline where Leopardstar is really not apologetic at all, and Blackstar is a useful stooge for the very next wannabe dictator that strolls in, in spite of the new side content that COMPLETELY mischaracterized them for their plots to work.
#I just wish people could be more critical of this#And im not entirely anti-retcon. Mind you#But I am here because i think these retcons make them WORSE characters. It's BAD for a character to GET a book with a redemption arc and--#Then they don't change at all and act like totally different people later in the timeline#And Leopardstar is the worse one between her and Blackstar BECAUSE she has sooo many active choices here#Im confident in my choice for BB the more I think about it. Leopardstar's dismantling of the bonehill was good#But it works better as a tragedy imo with the rest of the series in mind#That for a brief moment. A fleeting whim. She could have changed.#But she never did.#And Blackstar who was FAR less repentant at the time DID eventually turn around.#At the end of the day one of them appointed Hawkfrost as codebreaking deputy.#And the other did not.#And I think it's fucking bullshit the way that Leopardstar's retcondemption implies that Hawkfrost was just so tricky he mislead her#The old and experienced leader who had been fooled by a tiger before and was soso sorry for it. Just got tricked.#Like fuck off. She never had a redemption. Stop trying to tell me she did 15 years later#She's a girlboss who empires too close to the sun in pursuit of power and drags everyone down with her#Not a sad weepy smolbean#Bone babble#Warrior cats analysis

WHY DO MY DREAMS HAVE RECURRING CHARACTERS AND LOCATIONS ITS SO WEIRD I DO NOT LIKE THAT ITS CREEPING ME OUT
#in the past few years my dreams have had such strange continuity#they’re still strange as hell don’t get me wrong but there are recurring locations and themes almost every time#like yeah I can see someone shove a piece of mud in a frog’s ass and spin it around like a lasso#but all that is taking place in a place I have been multiple times in my dreams#apparently The Museum from my dreams hosts a yearly marathon. good to know#I think the main recurring places in my dreams are:#1) some sort of pastry shop. often gets orders wrong but they are top tier#2) The Mall. this is by far the most common. it’s running out of money and doesn’t have a whole lot to sell—#—but I always check back to see if they have anything funny for sale#last I dreamt about it they were actually doing pretty good for themselves and no longer in debt#3) the aforementioned Museum. has some sort of Tube on the left side from the entrance. walls and ceilings are all pure white#4) The City. just some city where everything takes place I suppose. not polluted. very wide streets. easy to get lost in#5) Vacation Place. beachside. brown walls. always extremely stressful to be there bc I don’t like vacations#there’s probably more but my point is just. ??? why does this happen#there is also the tiger pit. not an actual tiger pit just a place where tigers and other big cats hang out. watch out for them#it’s never a recurring storyline just recurring places and sometimes characters#tonight I learned unnamed character loosely based on a girl I talked to twice lost her arm#will this lore carry over? Who Knows#this post has no point I’m just confused on why my dreams have lore now

My constipated little lady (11 y/o cat) spent the day at the vet for observation as they gave her fluids and a bit of laxative. Still didn't manage to pass the mysterious blockage, doesn't show on x-ray other than that she's got some pockets of gas in there that haven't moved. Brought home with expectation to likely have to do surgery tomorrow if she doesn't fart it all out tonight. She's still got a thingy (don't know the english word, "kanyl" in swedish) on her leg so they don't have to stab her again tomorrow, which means she has to wear the dreaded Cone so she doesn't bite at the well-wrapped bandage.
Life is very difficult for little Smulan right now.
The vets did however tell me that she's been a Very Good Girl. Very well-behaved and easy to handle. Proud of my brave little lady.
#she's managed to keep her food down tho and even poop a little (with a good amount of farting) so I'm still slightly hopeful-#-that an x-ray tomorrow will show that the blockage has moved on its own and that no surgery will be needed#my Anxiety(tm) however wants to assume the worst for both cat and wallet...#I will pay without hesitation however if she ends up needing it. She's my baby.#the teeth-check for her TR/FORL will Not happen next week now though. I won't put her through that as well right after this#privileged af to have been able to save enough money over the years to do this for my cats when stuff like this happens#but I might need to start considering commissions again soon with these costs#still unemployed (work-training but not actually employed...) living off of disability-aid and that doesn't bring in a lot of money lol#kreft rambles#ignore me...

#just rehomed my cat today#adopted her six months ago only to discover that I developed a cat allergy in adulthood#tried so hard to make it work but in the end it just wasn't gonna be fair to either of us#there's a really good group in the area that rehomes cats with as much focus on the animals as possible they've been fantastic#and they're sending me updates on her to let me know how she's doing#and everyone there agreed I'm making the right choice#but goddamn it's hard#she's such a sweet little cat I could not have asked for a better cat#I absolutely love her but I can't. be miserable in my own home for the next 15-20 years#and she can't be expected to spend half her life shut in her playroom so I can function she's way too social and clingy for that#she would drool all over me every morning because she was so damn happy to see me (very cute but the allergens are stored in the saliva)#so here we are#I am very sad to give her up#but my eyes don't itch and I don't have to plot out my day around Containing The Allergens and change clothes constantly#and she's an adaptable cat who's rarely bothered by anything and loves everyone so I know she'll be okay#as long as she has laps to sleep on and feather sticks to violently murder

Kalina is the most interesting character to me because of all she has going on…
she is Cassandra’s familiar, she is simultaneously a pet and a friend and a servant and a family to a goddexx that is simultaneously her owner and friend and creator and parent and her god and reason to be—Kalina’s relationship to Cassandra is hard to put a name or label on (since what does being a familiar even mean?) but the bottomline is that this cat loves her deity enough to put everything and everyone on the line for her…
And adding in that she is a child of divorce. So to speak. I am extremely normal and haven’t been driven mad by the detail that baby itty bitty kitty Kalina was at Cassandra’s wedding to Ankarna and is remembered to have been toddling after her as she walked down the aisle…

#personal#so about this little stinkies#she hid into herself for a few years after i got her back from my family#and she has never been particularly good at being A Cat/doint the things cats do to clean themselves#and she wasnt mine to start with (she was my sister's originally so she didnt really get As close with me esp cause she became mine-#-while i was in college so i wasnt really Home) but like over the last few years of having her her personality has not just come back out#but also has morphed into the most beastly stinky beast (affectionate) that ever lived#and all of this is to say: she wont let me pee alone anymore in the mornings. everyday no matter what the first time im in the bathroom+#+she runs to come pee with me. i swear she's holding it. its so obnoxious and also so cute#and she did it again today ofc and it made me a little irritated at first bc like she insists on weaving through my legs b4 going to her bo#(tickles my legs weird) but then i got emotional thinking about how much she's come out of her shell over the last few years#i love my stink monster so so much#bun.life

no one really knows what this guys deal is bc he doesn't like or talk to anyone. Honestly the only reason he stays in RiverClan instead of fucking off to be a loner is for the security. He prefers vanishing early to patrol by himself, which he usually can do as even the deputy occasionally forgets he exists for days at a time.
