Sirius totally is the kind of guy to use overconfidence and humour as a coping mechanism. He can fluctuate from "I'm the greatest gift to wizard kind" to "I don't deserve to even exist, I'm sorry for breathing" in seconds and I don't know how Remus manages to keep up with it, but I'm suddenly beginning to understand his addiction to coffee and why he's so tired all the time.

okay, let’s be honest, how long did it take y’all to learn how to pronounce Odysseus? Cause way back when I was small reading the name and never hearing it out loud, I had no clue how I was supposed to say it, or a lot of Greek names. I actually learned from the Percy Jackson musical when it says ‘this ain’t no Odysseus’ odyssey’ and I was like, oh, that’s how it goes. Did anyone else struggle at first?

I loved reading poetry before I met you. But it didn’t quite make sense. I did not understand why poets would crumble in pain under the blanket of love. Why love would be so excruciating. And how on earth it would be worth the pain. Then I met you, then it made sense. I understood it all —the pain, the warmth, the tears, the butterflies— it all made sense after I fell in love with you.

Me: Wow amazing that they could get me to care so much about ineffable bureaucracy is such a short time. So cute they bonded over music.
*realizes one of my fav headcanons for Gereng is that they bonded and fell in love through sharing music*

I'm reading Diana Wynne Jones' Reflections on the the Magic of Writing and like. immediately she hits me with an anecdote of watching children play pretend outside her window, of little girls pretending to be queens and screaming at bushes and I'm just. I was a little girl doing the same thing, running around with a book on caring for dragons and pretending I saw dragons in trees and climbing rocks and running from enemies. Things like that just hit me and i'm always so charmed by myself, not in a narcissistic way but in a way that makes loving myself easier because the person I was was really so wonderful and that person has worked hard to become what they are now. and thats me!
She also says something thats kinda changed how I've been thinking about how to write. She says,
"My feeling is that children get the most from books which work along the same lines as they do - in other words, by Let's Pretend...Notice, for instance, that the children in the woods are very wisely not pretending too many things at once. They say 'Pretend we're all queens,' or 'Pretend we're explorers,' and part of the point of what follows is to find out what this entails. In the same way, I find it works best to suppose just one thing; Pretend you are a ghost, or Pretend your chemistry set works magic, or Pretend this dog is the Dog Star. Then I go on to explore the implications of this supposition. Quite often, I am totally surprised by the result." (pg 3-4)
I find with my writing what gets me hung up is I try to do too many things. I try to figure out too much before I begin and it gets complicated and convoluted, when it could all be very simple. Just play pretend on a page.
I think its very wise and also that any aspiring writer should read this book. I like DWJ a lot.

Pov: Me at anyone who boops me (the loop of booping will never end. We are stuck in a circle of pure insanity and one of us has to break eventually. The war will never end, though. As long as we continue to boop each other, the loop won't end)

I love when terfs try to hyper analylze some random woman's face to "prove" they're "secretly a man" and scream about sharp jawlines and what not. Because me, a trans man, afab and without any additional testosterone in my body have a prominent adam's apple lol
People have different bodies and faces and you can't "figure out" what their gender or sex is unless. they. tell. you!!
