[Y/N] Baggins sighed and winced when she heard more horse coughing coming from the bedroom she shared with her husband, Frodo Baggins. It was winter in the Shire, and Frodo had gotten sick with a nasty cough, a runny nose and a fever. His fever had gone down a bit, but it hadn’t broken yet. Sam, Frodo’s best friend, would have come over to help with taking care of Frodo, but Sam’s daughter, Rose, was sick as well, and Rosie still worked at the tavern, so Sam had to look after the three children they already had, with a fourth on the way.

[Y/N] poured some tea into a cup, placing the cup and a bowl of soup onto a tray. She carefully picked it up and took it into the bedroom. Frodo was laying in bed, still dressed in his night clothes. A cool cloth was placed upon his forehead to lower the fever. [Y/N] walked over and carefully set the tray on the bed side table. She gently pressed her hand against Frodo’s cheek. She sighed. He still felt warm. Frodo sighed and leaned into his wife’s touch.

“Your hand feels good, love.” Frodo whispered, his voice hours from coughing so much. [Y/N] smiled slightly.

“I brought you some tea and some soup, darling.” [Y/N] said. She helped Frodo sit up, putting some pillows behind his back to help support him. She carefully handed him the tea, which Frodo took gratefully. He took a sip of the tea and sighed. His throat felt a bit better after drinking the tea. He smiled at his wife.

“Thank you, love.” He said. [Y/N] smiled and nodded.

“Of course, darling. I’m going to go check the mail.” She said. She walked out of the room and out to the mailbox. She saw a small package and a letter. She took the two things out and walked back inside before the cold could settle into her bones. She opened the letter first.

‘[Y/N],’ the letter started out. ‘I’m sorry to hear that Frodo is sick. I do hope he gets better soon. To help in his recovering, Aragorn and I have packed some echinacea flowers. These flowers work wonders when someone is sick. Simply brew the echinacea to make tea. I hope this helps. Best, King Aragorn and Queen Arwen of Gondor.’ [Y/N] smiled and opened the package. Just as the King and Queen had said, there were purple echinacea flowers. [Y/N] set right to making them into a tea.

Once Frodo had eaten the soup and drank the tea, [Y/N] had given the flowers enough time to brew into a tea. Removing the flowers themselves, [Y/N] carried the steaming tea into the bedroom.

“Frodo, my love, I have something here that I feel will help.” She said. Frodo groaned and woke up. [Y/N] helped him sit up again and he drank the tea.

“What’s this tea?” He asked. [Y/N] sat next to him in bed.

“It’s echinacea tea. King Aragorn and Queen Arwen sent them to us.” She said. Frodo smiled.

“Thank you for taking care of me, my love.” Frodo said. [Y/N] smiled and kissed his head.

“I’m here for you, darling.” She said.
