opal with her daggers in her hands and ultimatums on her shoulders looking at her loved ones and its just. do you love them more than you want to avoid losing them. do you love them more than you hate the idea of being alone. do you love them more than you know they will hate you for what you're going to do. do you love them enough to doom them to death because you cant let them go. do you love them enough to understand how much they cannot fathom leaving you behind, letting you go. do you love them enough to understand why to know why they are not even considering leaving you behind.
do you love them enough. to make them.
do you love them enough? you will lose them regardless, one way or another.
"go see orym."

i just found there were. more changes made in the translation than i initially realized.
tell me why on god's green earth did the translation in english use this:
Javier's lips trembled. Lloyd noticed that the grandmaster was calling out to him. He could see, hear, and feel his buddy's heart. But there was no turning back.
when in korean is actually something more like this:
Javier’s lips trembled for some reason.
He was calling his name.
I see it, I hear it, I feel it. Yes, I know your heart. But what can I do?
like. oh my god??? hello????? that is??? a completely different vibe??? what is happening here i'm going insane

I always think Chad has a strained relationship with his mother with how much he craves Audrey's approval and affection. I feel like as a young boy he wasn't ALLOWED connection with his mother based off societal things so he only has these sparse moments when his father is gone and it's dark and he gets to be with his mother, or his sister.
Chad is so. On the surface he's a dumb jerk prince who is. Weirdly obsessed with Audrey? Or at least getting Audrey to love him. But there's. So much to him, and it's OBVIOUS that there's more to him with how he needs and craves Audrey's affections, because why would that be? He's not just some entitled prince who thinks he deserves whatever pretty girl he wants. It's obvious he didn't care for Evie, yes, but. But there's such a difference between how he treats Evie—who he thinks he's entitled to using as he pleases because she's nothing but a VK—and how he treats Audrey, a princess, what he's been taught to desire. She has all the power in their relationship. Hell, she gets with him because Ben ends up with Mal. And I'm convinced that's the only positive attention he gets from girls, women, princesses, queens in public. Unashamedly. Attention, affection he's allowed to accept in the real world, outside of his mother's chambers, outside of his sister's chambers, outside in the light in front of others. And he craves it, and he's allowed to accept it, and he gets addicted to it, and when Audrey breaks up with him and ghosts him and goes on some trip in the second movie, she only calls him when she needs his help fixing her fucking carriage. And it's six fucking hours away, but Chad is immediately ready to go after her, he's 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 to, he 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 to care for her, to love her, to be loved by someone in public.
And I think he's queer.
I think he thinks he's straight, or he knows he has to be, but he isn't. He can't stay out of Carlos and Jay's room, he excuses it by "you have a better 3D printer because of your modifications" but. Seriously? He copies their room key, he breaks in when they're gone, he's in there for as long as he wants because he knows their schedules, he knows when he can get in and not get caught, but when that schedule is interrupted by Mal's problem, and her running back to the isle, he gets caught. And he's so red in the face and. And he's so attached to Doug? And he can't stand Doug with Evie, not just because she's a VK but. Because he needs Doug. Doug is a guy, and they're 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴, and he gets Doug's attention, and even though Doug doesn't even 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 him, Chad holds on so tight. And when Audrey calls, he's in Carlos and Jay's room, using his excuse of the 3D printer, getting caught, and then Audrey is his escape from what he's doing, how he's. Obsessed with Carlos and Jay and Doug because they see. Right. Through him. They see him for what he is and he is never seen and he needs to be seen and he needs to be loved. He can never love Audrey, but he loves Jay and Carlos and Doug. Doug and Carlos and Jay will never love him back. They don't even like him as a person. But he's desperate.
I've been scrolling the Chad Charming tag and something I keep seeing is this idea that he's adopted and. And I think they're right. It perfectly explains why he is the way he is, why he's so desperate for affection, and so desperate to be royalty. Chad being adopted just makes sense. And some people have been like "Does Chad know he was adopted?" And. I think he's always known. I think his father made it very clear that he was adopted, I think his sister made it very clear he was adopted, in the way siblings will do, I think it was obvious beyond that, I think he has craved this feeling of belonging he's never really gotten.
(this is all pre-time travel i have not seen the fourth movie and am choosing to pretend it doesn't exist because it literally fucks the whole universe what??? fuck that movie.)
