BITCCCCCH I was really trying not to read the preview but then I DID. So I am definitely invested. You can’t do this to me please. I beg. I am slobbering like a dog when people are frying bacon in the kitchen doing the little tap tap with my hands (because I don’t have paws). HOW DARE.
Also saw the Evil Clergyman today! Tomorrow I might watch Dr. Mordrid. But if anyone wants to see TEC you have like 13-9 days to watch it before it disappears from Tubi and into full moon entertainment. It’s also only 30 minutes and I was expecting a full movie??? I was a little disappointed but then I wasn’t. Kiss me like you used to??? Bitch holy fuck that’s fantastic. Johnathan is a SLUT and an absolute Bastard. Also DAVID WARNER. DW my love he’s so goood.
-Horta-in-Charge
The cackle I just let out reading the first part of this ask oml 😂 I’m so glad you enjoyed the preview, friend! I didn’t really know what part to show, so I just kinda highlighted a few paragraphs and slapped ‘em in a post lol. If you’re curious, the word count is somewhere around 4600 words currently, and I still have a ton to add in. I’ll either release it as one big fic or maybe in 2 parts if it seems necessary. Keep tippy tappin’ those hands, it’s adorable 💖
OMG. Listen TEC stabbed me right in the gut with a priest kink. Jeff Combs on top of that too? Lord mercy 🥵 Sorry, my hick came out to play there for a sec. “Kiss me like you used to” fucking destroyed me. Both he and Barbara Crampton were so fucking pretty in that film (can I still call it a film if it was only 30 minutes???). Jonathan is such a slut. He really didn’t have to go that hard with the bedroom eyes, Jesus Christ. Dude, David Warner! He did such a good job, too!
WAIT NO. NO THEY CAN’T TAKE IT OFF TUBI. NOT FAIR. I NEED MY FREE PRIEST KINK BULLSHIT. 😭

An artistic set up implies theatre in situ, in that a/the area is transformed into a possible experiential encounter through design and scenography. This potential house then only requires the spectator to activate the full expertise via embodied engagement with the set up, inciting visceral meaning-making. This embodied activation implies that the spectator then additionally turns into a performer, as they are concurrently those physically inflicting the theatrical experience and those experiencing the elements designed for interpretation. Six can be found at Vault-Tec: Among the Stars.

Collecting the full set unlocks the display case which holds the Quantum X-01 power armor, provided Nuka-World's power has been restored by completing Power Play or Open Season. Only 20 of the total 35 star cores are required for the quest. They are necessary for taking over the Galactic Zone during the quests Star Control and The Grand Tour, but they can also be picked up during normal exploration. Star cores are redundant multi-purpose control panels consisting of a black circuit board with glowing red lights. As the robots and defenses in the park came online, they began attacking the traders within the Galactic Zone. However, Kendell decided they needed the defenses online sooner, and despite Tiana's warning and assurances they only needed an hour to gather enough cores, Kendell activated Star Control. Shortly thereafter, Tiana realized that they had taken too many cores and that it was unsafe to activate, and sent other surviving traders to gather enough cores to safely activate the defensive mode. However, it was around this time that Colter and the Nuka-World raiders took over Nuka-Town, leading to the idea that Star Control mainframe's defensive mode would be able to defend them from the gangs. Kendell Alston, thinking his daughter Tiana Alston's explanation that the cores were "redundant" meant they were okay to take and sell, removed most of them from Star Control's mainframe. Eventually, the traders came across the Star Control mainframe and its star cores.
#Star control 2 maps series#
The actual technology utilized a series of highly redundant, interchangeable telemetry modules, known as "star cores." At runtime, the cores would establish a radio communications interlink between the mainframe and the linked robotic systems, allowing the mainframe to coordinate their actions and issue commands irrespective of their underlying operating protocols.Īfter the Great War, the Galactic Zone became a ground for traders from Nuka-Town USA to acquire scrap materials for use and trade. It makes sense to include at least one flight sim, seeing as how they almost require large maps due to the high speed of travel and the ability to fly over impassable terrain. The STAR ( Systemized Telemetry for Automated Robot Control) cores, were designed for robot control across the entire park, based in the Galactic Zone.
#Star control 2 maps update#
This update will also add a game from an (as yet) unrepresented genre, the flight sim. This update adds five additional entries, most of which are newer games. Average-sized maps are not the focus of this article though no, this discussion is all about the biggest of the big open-world game maps. Updated on February 16th, 2021, by Jeff Drake: The average map size in open-world games keeps getting larger and larger as time goes on. Here are the games with the largest maps for players to explore. Those two games have large world maps, but even they are nothing compared to the games that did make this list. There will be many open-world games that gamers will be surprised didn’t make this list, such as Grand Theft Auto Vor Fallout 4. RELATED: The Shortest Open World Video Games The original Legend of Zelda for the NES gave gamers a glimpse of how much fun an open-world game can be, and ever since that landmark game developers of open-world games have endeavored to give gamers larger and large worlds to explore. Open-world games are not new in fact, they’ve been around for some time.

PSYCHO THRILL COLOGNE hosting STROM TON’s 3rd anniversary Episode vol.36 on April 3rd, 2021 via Cologne’s own 674.fm
STROM TON Cologne impresario Stefan Eul invited the Psycho Thrill CGN boss-man and radio colleague Claus Bachor especially for the 3rd anniversary of his 674.fm broadcast. And he played a consistently slammin' BreakBeat/ HiTechFunk/ House set on the cutting edge aof TECHNO, that Cologne/Düsseldorf club aficionados otherwise got or get to hear in the legendary BNKR, on the BangTech12 rooftop of the Detroit Bookie's or currently in pandemic free times at the Golzheim Club in Düsseldorf. Not really a surprise, but definitely the appropriate sound framework for everyone who feels committed to real Techno underground. In addition, the whole thing "handmade" only from vinyl and without compromises, featuring 44 Vinyl-Only-Tracks by The Beneficiaries/Eddie Fowlkes, Jeff Mills, Jessica Care Moore (Intro/Outro 2), Calibre (5), Attila Jahanvash, Shawn Rudiman, N-ter (2), Electro Nation, MAS2008, Ole Mic Odd feat. 9 Female Hip-Hop Pioneers You Should Know
Many of you are probably under the impression that girls were not heavily involved during the inception of Hip-Hop culture. Women were actually involved in every single element, from any corner you can imagine. Women were involved as record label executives, mothers, b-girls, girlfriends, MCs, venue owners (houses), promoters, DJs and almost just anything you can think of. If you call yourself a #HipHopHead, take note that there are at least nine female hip hop pioneers you should know about. Allow me to take you through a journey of the accomplishments made by nine of Hip-Hop’s most embraced female pioneers.
Tumblr media
In the late 1970s, The Bronx, New York was not the only place in love with break beats and rhymes. The youth of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania were also head bangin’ to dope rhymes and of course the influence from New York was just oh so strong. Depending on where you were determined what Hip-Hop record you heard first. Majority of the ears of 1979 recall hearing the Tec Records hit “To The Beat Y’all” as the first hip-hop record on wax. And the person rhyming on this record was a young lady from Philly by the name of Lady B. Despite Hip-Hop’s birthplace being in New York, it just so happens a female from Philly was among the first to lay this style on wax. Lady B is also best known as a Philly radio pioneer and overall DJ.
Once the 80s hit, Lady B become the reason why hip-hop records expanded beyond New York City. Her legendary show The Street Beat on Philly’s WHAT 1340 AM was the pillar for the dopest and latest hip-hop. If you were an up and coming act, you needed to go through Lady B to get your record played for the Philly hip-hop audience. Lady B helped jumpstart the careers of many hip-hop class acts such as Schoolly D, Public Enemy, Poor Righteous Teachers, Run D.M.C., LL Cool J, EPMD, UTFO, MC Lyte, Big Daddy Kane, Krs-One, DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince and so many more of the Golden Era’s finest. She was even one of the first radio DJs to play Eric B and Rakim in Philadelphia. Lady B’s place in Hip-Hop is never to be underestimated and always acknowledged.
Tumblr media
There is no doubting the fact that in the early days of Hip-Hop, the female emcee was underrepresented. Starting off as a B-girl heading to jams and parties carrying records, Sha-Rock had no idea she would create a lane in this brewing culture we now know as Hip-Hop. Sha Rock always had a knack for rhyming. She was known for always having a composition book during lunch, practicing her rhymes in the high school cafeteria. This young lady was a pending force to be reckoned with. Through her neighborhood connections, Sha Rock joined forces with the Funky Four Plus One More becoming the first female MC to record in an all male Hip-Hop group. MC Sha Rock’s presence made female Hip-Hop listeners finally feel like they had a voice that the world can hear. This accomplishment is why MC Sha Rock is uplifted by the Hip-Hop community as Mother of the Mic.
As a member of the Funky Four Plus One More, Sha Rock was the first female MC to have an unblemished rhyming battle, which was against Grandmaster Flash and The Furious 5. On February 14, 1981, The Funky Four Plus One More became the first Hip-Hop act to appear on National Television. They appeared on Saturday Night Live which was hosted by Blondie’s Debbie Harry and this was the first time in the nation, on platforms that may have never heard a hip hop rhyme, witnessed a female laying down some funky bars. MC Sha Rock is a major contributor to the lane that was paved for female MCs of the next era, the Golden Era and the eras that followed. Until this present day, the female MC is still standing.

When it comes to the Hip-Hop DJ most of us will automatically think it was a grind for the boys. Let’s also wake up to the fact there were some females that wanted to play too, and DJ Wanda Dee was one of the first to break that ice. Growing up in the Bronx territory, Wanda always witnessed the spins of Grandmaster Flash and aspired to become the female version of him. This young lady took whatever chance she got to embody her desire. Wanda Dee first got the opportunity to DJ for Kool Herc at the local community center in Edenwall Projects. Once her name started buzzing around town, she became a member of Afrika Bambaataa’s Zulu Nation and became the Zulu Nation’s star DJ. Dee’s fellow male DJ peers made jokes, pulled pranks and threw insults her way, but Bambaataa was by her side to protect her.
You might remember seeing Wanda Dee in classic Hip-Hop movie Beat Street, which made her the first female DJ to be featured in a movie thanks to the legendary Harry Belafonte. With her rapid back spinning, mastered scratching, vivid mixing and blending skills, Wanda Dee spun and mixed records by funk artists in the likes of James Brown, Brothers Johnson, and Bob James from one break beat to the other. In the 80s, Wanda Dee embraced her skill with Hip-Hop’s rap element as she became the first female rap artist to put out two consecutive platinum singles, “The Goddess” and “To The Bone”. She even displayed true showmanship as her performances expressed pure sensuality, beauty, glamour, choreography and sex. Wanda Dee went from the first female Hip-Hop DJ to a lifetime show woman.

If this girl did not yearn for new school clothes, Hip-Hop would not have even stood a chance. You see, it wasn’t about partying for a young Cindy Campbell. It was all about making sure she was fly and sharp on the first day of school. Posted up as a tag writer by the name of PEP-1 and a well versed B-girl, Cindy was fastened on finding a solution for her conquest to look fly. She decided to throw one of the most memorable parties in her community. Stationed at the recreation room on 1520 Sedgwick Avenue was Cindy’s back to school jam. This party was a fundraiser for her to get those back to school clothes. She was doing all in her power to cut costs for this party.
Cindy’s older brother was already skilled with their father’s turntables and records, so she asked him to DJ her jam and he did not hesitate to say yes. DJ Kool Herc was ready to rock the house. Cindy didn’t know what she was doing when she asked her brother to DJ. There was an entry charge of 25 cents for girls and 50 cents for boys along with snacks and Old English 800s and Colt 45s for sale. One thing that truly turned this party up was the slow jam session which most jams totally bypassed but Cindy knew what would rock the house just like her brother. Cindy was satisfied as she raised a total of $500 that night and unconsciously simultaneously birth the foundation of a culture that was later called, Hip-Hop. It is safe to say that Cindy Campbell is indeed the First Lady of Hip-Hop Culture.

The art of rhyme is one of many ways someone can express him or herself. There was a time during Hip-Hop’s infancy when women did not feel comfortable to express themselves on the mic. It took courage, self acceptance and confidence to be a young lady rocking a microphone. Zulu Queen Lisa Lee is one of the most notable pioneers who fought to make Hip-Hop a safe place for aspiring female emcees. One day as a student at James M. Kiernan Junior High School 123, at the tender age of 13, Lisa Lee and her community alliances lead her to the sounds of Afrika Bambaataa and Disco King Mario. She displayed her rhyming talent along with her B-girl moves and by the following week she was rockin’ the mic with Bambaataa and the Mighty Zulu Nation of the 70s.
Lisa Lee was the only female on Afrika Bambaataa and The Zulu Nation’s classic first recording “Zulu Nation Throwdown” with Cosmic Force. This pedestal qualified Lisa Lee for a motion picture that was prominent for Hip-Hop’s reputation all over the world. She was featured in cult classic Beat Street as one of the Us Girls along with MC Sha Rock. The Zulu Queen was also the only female who rapped in Wild Style, a classic documentary that was centered around Hip-Hop’s graffiti element. She also became the first and only female member of electro-funk and hip-hop mash group Soulsonic Force. This joining put Lisa Lee among the female MC pioneers who were key influences for those to come. Zulu Queen Lisa Lee exchanged the blows for the stance of the female MC in Hip-Hop to exist. You can’t look into the coming of the female MC without mentioning Lisa Lee.
Tumblr media
Most of Hip-Hop’s first ensemble of female MCs came from a crew and started as a B-girl. Being a part of a crew made you an official hip hopper in the early days. One pioneer who did such a thing the best is MC Pebblee Poo. Poo’s coming into Hip-Hop was as a grooving B-girl but she was always armed with the desire to rhyme. She started to rock with a crew from Harlem, The Untouchables who had Mix Master Andre on their team. Pebblee took off from the Untouchables to become a member of the Smoke-a-Trons which was pretty brief until she met Dr. Bomb-Bay.
Dr. Bomb-Bay schooled Pebblee Poo about the art of rhyming making her a pending force in the game. One day Dr. Bomb-Bay took her to a park jam that Kool DJ Herc was having. From that day on, Pebblee Poo started house rockin’ with Kool Herc and the Herculoids as DJ Kool Herc’s first female MC. As Herc’s reign began to dwindle, Pebblee Poo’s identity as an MC was sturdy and opened more opportunities for her. In the early 1980s, she became a notable member of The Master Don Committee. This gave her the chance to perform at hot spots like T-Connection and Harlem World. Pebblee Poo is known for her lethal, direct rhymes as proven in her 1985 song on Profile Records “Fly Guy”, which was a diss to The Boogie Boys. Pebblee Poo’s journey as a female MC shows the might and prowess it took in the early days to make your name known as a female MC.

In order to be considered a Hip-Hop Pioneer, you must have been the first of something or birth a factor that eluded lifetime prominence. This woman of many talents as a singer, songwriter, publisher, and producer was a known boss who was an aide in introducing the globe to the art of rhyming and element of rap. This woman is best known as Sylvia Robinson, the founder of Sugar Hill Records. Robinson started off as a Rhythm and Blues singer in the late 1950s. She was one half of the duo Mickey and Sylvia with Mickey Baker, and their song “Love Is Strange” was a Top 20 R&B hit that sold over 1 million copies in 1957. She was successful as a soloist in the 1970s with her classic album, Pillow Talk of 1973.
Sylvia honed orthodox music industry knowledge in which the popularized element of rap was questionable as to its pinch on vinyl. She imposed a strategy that changed the lives of many young boys and girls forever. In 1979 along with her husband Joe Robinson and Morris Levy, Sylvia founded Hip-Hop’s first label, Sugar Hill Records. This label became the home to several of Hip-Hop’s most notably pioneering acts; Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five, Spoonie Gee, The Funky Four Plus One More, Sequence, The Treacherous Three, and The Sugarhill Gang. Sylvia Robinson was also behind the production for True School classics “Rapper’s Delight” and “The Message”. The success of “Rapper’s Delight” enabled her to flip the art of rap into an enterprise that has lead to the creation of long lasting careers. Sylvia Robinson’s experimental innovation of the business of Hip-Hop turning into a global phenomenon will forever be embraced.
Tumblr media
Reigning from Sugar Hill records were three young ladies from South Carolina who were on a mission to put their raps on wax. Cheryl the Pearl, Blondy, and Angie B were cheerleaders at their high school and also very close childhood friends who happened to each be one year apart in age, with Angie B being the youngest. With the hype of “Rapper’s Delight” floating all over the nation, there was a Sugarhill gang concert happening in their city of Columbia at the Township Auditorium. These ladies decided to bumrush the concert not only to see the Sugarhill Gang live, but to aim for their chance to prove that they are better than the Sugarhill Gang. These ladies were all primarily singers, but had some rhymes underwraps.
After securing their spot backstage, the ladies bumped into Sugar Hill Records founder, Sylvia Robinson. They asked for a chance to show her what they got. After performing two of their R&B songs, Robinson didn’t seem to impressed. They closed out the audition with their rap song “Funk You Up” and by the time you know it, they were signed to Sugar Hill Records and became known as The Sequence. The Sequence single,“Funk You Up” became the first rap record on wax released by a female rap collective. “Funk You Up” also got airplay on top New York radio stations WBLS and WKTU. Not bad for some chicks from South Carolina. The success of The Sequence highly influenced the nationwide dynamic of the female Hip-Hop trio.
Tumblr media
This young lady is one that can tell you the tales of the rugged journey for an aspiring female graffiti writer back in the 1970s. Born in the country of Ecuador and raised in Queens, New York, Lady Pink made a name for herself as the only girl who was skilled enough to compete with the dudes in the subculture of graffiti. She started painting as a way to cope with her spiraled relationship at the time. Her boyfriend was sent to Puerto Rico after being arrested in New York. In honor of her aching misses for him, she started tagging his name all across the city. Eventually, once she developed the moniker Lady Pink, that name was splattered all of New York City as well.
Within the 1970s and early 1980s, men made several attempts to intimidate girls who were aspiring graffiti writers. Lady Pink’s passion won over that fear. She was painting subway trains from 1979 to 1985. Her epic paintings made her a leading body in the evolution of graffiti based art. During her subway painting days she was rolling with The Cool 5 crew and The Public Animals crew. You might recognize Lady Pink from her starring role in cult classic Wild Style. Lady Pink is the most recorded and photographed female graffiti writer from the True School era. Her career was a fight for respect as an artist. Lady Pink’s showcased courage made it possible for post generation female graffiti artists to own staying power. Lady Pink is without a doubt, the most influential female graffiti artist in the history of Hip-Hop’s graffiti element.
Well, there you have it. The aforementioned women deserve praise and recognition when the topic of Female Hip-Hop Pioneers is brought up. Not only when it comes to the element of rapping, but also the subcultures that Hip-Hop embraces such as DJing and Graffiti Art. At the time of Hip-Hop’s inception, it was not easy to become a master of a Hip-Hop element as a female due to the constant underestimation, but these women made it happen. Their courageous acts made it possible for the Hip-Hop genre to live and survive till this day. Think about it, the biggest hip-hop beef right now is between two female rappers (Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj). Let’s make it our duty to stay informed about who paved the way for today’s rich culture of Hip-Hop.

How Harry Styles Became A Modern Style Icon
by Phoebe Luckhurst - Evening Standard 15/11/19
A man wrought in the fires of teenage boyband hyper-stardom is not afraid of a little commotion. Still when Harry Styles — the One Direction matinée idol turned languid Gen Z icon — tweeted, at 1.01 pm GMT on Wednesday afternoon, that he would be taking his upcoming album Fine Line on tour, you could, if attuned to the correct demographic frequency, hear the howl echo around the internet: guttural, hungry, ululating. This was a pseudo-religious experience: one viral meme depicted the Pope holding a copy of his album aloft. The announcement has been retweeted almost 70,000 times.
The 25-year old is a tour veteran — he spent five years and five albums strapped to the thundering 1D juggernaut — but this new tour is his first as a bona fide solo brand. The album, his first in two years, is synth-soaked and soulful, the album’s aesthetic fever-dreamy. Granted, he’s not the first person to go to SoCal, try a few magic mushrooms and declare himself radically transformed, but the results are beguiling — and certainly a world away from his years as a Simon Cowell Ken doll. Since his last record, he has co- hosted t he Met Gala and been reborn as an Alessandro Michele muse. This is your Styles crib sheet.
Melody maker
Styles’s new album — written under a tie-dye mist after taking the aforementioned psychedelics, which also resulted in a mishap in which he bit off the tip of his tongue — is “all about having sex and feeling sad”, which, granted, as a topline, does not wildly differentiate the record from the genre of “al l other music ever”. Still, the early signs for Fine Line are encouraging. Its first single, Lights Up—which has been streamed almost 100 million times on Spotify —is synth-y, soulful, understatedly anthemic, very different to, and better than, the lead single on his last solo record, the Seventies, soft-rock Sign of the Times( it still, of course, hit No 1), and very, very different from anything he did with 1D. Many thousands of words have been written about whether there is a bisexual subtext to Lights Up. It has been noted that the song was released on National Coming Out Day, that Styles’s sexuality has been subject to frenzied speculation before, the video features an oiled-up, topless Styles gyrating around men and women, and that the lyrics (“Shine, I’m not ever going back/ Shine, step into the light”) could be interpreted as a meaningful revelation of sorts. Certainly, he has become a queer icon — especially with Gen Z — who are thrilled by his selection of genderqueer singer-songwriter King Princess as his support act for the European part of his tour. Speaking of collaborators, Styles worked on the album with producers Tyler Johnson, who has worked with Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Ed Sheeran, and Jeff Bhasker, who has collaborated wit h Mark Ronson and Kanye West, and his friend, Tom Hull, aka Kid Harpoon, who co-wrote Shake It Out for Florence + The Machine. He has also been granted a fairy godmother: Stevie Nicks, who called him her “little muse” at Fleetwood Mac’s hyped Wembley headline gig i n J une. “S he’s a l ways there for you,” Styles has said in the past. “She knows what you need: advice, a little wisdom, a blouse, a shawl.” Sure.
Got Styles
Any young man raised in the white heat of a boyband spotlight must be granted the space to find his fashion path; Styles has done so with no missteps and exuberant pleasure. Once upon a time, he would semaphore his individuality with a bandana; now, he turns up to a cover interview with Rolling Stone in a white floppy hat, blue denim bell-bottoms and Gucci shades, his nails coloured pink and green. His favourite trousers, until he lost them on the beach, were a pair of mustard corduroy flares; this week, he wore a Lanvin sweater vest with a sheep design that sent a coterie of London menswear stylists into throes of ecstasy. He wears floral suits and Cuban heels, ruffled, New Romantic shirts, Charles Jeffrey jumpsuits and pussy- bow blouses. It is flamboyant, self-consciously Bowie/Jagger, and in Gen Z parlance, “very extra”. His stylist Harry Lambert is partial to an extravagant collar, dramatic neckline and a voluminous trouser.
Besides Lambert, another part of this evolution has been his relationship with Gucci’s creative director Michele, who has turned the Italian heritage brand into the ultimate post-gender luxury fashion label, the first to merge their menswear and womenswear, and dispatch male models down the catwalk in dresses and women in suits. A good look for a Gen Z idol.
With the brand
Notably, the branding on this album and its tour artwork is consistent with this new look Styles. The album cover features Styles i n white custom- made Gucci bell bottoms and a Pepto Bismol-pink shirt, open almost to the waist, shot by mod-goth Tim Walker with a fisheye lens (it is Walker’s hand in that S&M glove you can see in the left-hand corner). In the dreamy video for Lights Up he wears a glittery suit and suspenders, in a sort of hallucinatory version of Saturday Night Fever. Into it.
Stand up
Then there’s his voice — not the music, but the activism. Even as one-fifth of a boyband manufactured by Cowell’s algorithm, he was quick, quippy and itching to go off-message; but now that he controls his own, he is amplifying causes such as Black Lives Matter and End Gun Violence. He wore stickers for both on his guitar on his last tour, which might sound small, except that photographs of Styles gallop around the digital world at hyperspeed. At concerts, he has waved pride, bi and trans flags, and a Black Lives Matter flag. He once borrowed a flag from an audience member at a show in Philadelphia that read, “Make America Gay Again”. At a show on his last tour, he declared: “If you are black, if you are white, if you are gay, if you are straight, if you are transgender — whoever you are, whoever you want to be, I support you.”
A vocal, engaged fandom of teenage girls minted his multimillion-pound fortune; he is loyal and admiring of their zeal. “They’re the most honest — especially if you’re talking about teenage girls, but older as well,” he told Rolling Stone this summer. “They have that bullshit detector. We’re so past that dumb outdated narrative of ‘Oh, these people are girls, so they don’t know what they’re talking about.’ They’re the ones who know what they’re talking about. They’re the people who listen obsessively. They f***ing own this shit. They’re running it.” Obviously, he’s a feminist. “Of course men and women should be equal. I don’t want credit for being a feminist. I think the ideals of feminism are pretty straightforward.” An icon is born.

Hey there @politicsaccordingtohistory
Would you like to play a game?
It’s called...
MEET THAT SCIENTIST!
*game show music plays*
Mr. PATH seems to think all of the newly elected Democrats with science backgrounds are bumbling fools who can’t tell a beaker from a test tube.
Let’s see what kind of mental neanderthals got elected, shall we?
Jeff Van Drew
This one might be a bit controversial. Jeff is a doctor of dentistry. Which is technically an applied science, but some might argue that is not in the spirit of the original tweet. Though a dentist must have the ability to understand medical research, diagnose certain medical conditions, and has a better than average understanding of human biology.
That said, he is apparently a pretty damn good dentist as he is president of the New Jersey Dental Society and a board expert of the New Jersey Board of Dentistry.
Lauren Underwood
Lauren is a registered nurse. I bet you’re imagining some woman in scrubs taking people’s temperature and bringing them Jello. Not very impressive, right?
Lauren earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan. She received her Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
That’s two masters degrees, friend.
From Johns Frickin’ Hopkins.
Lauren went on to be the Senior Director of Strategy & Regulatory Affairs at Next Level Health. She also served as an adjunct instructor at the Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies.
George Frickin’ Town.
In 2016, Obama appointed her as a Senior Advisor at the Department of Health and Human Services where she helped shape national health policy.
So yeah... just a nurse.
Jacky Rosen
Jacky is a computer scientist. She is an accomplished programmer and software developer. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology (BONUS SCIENCE!) and an associate degree in computing and information technology. She has worked with some of the biggest companies in Nevada including Summa Corporation, Citibank, and Southwest Gas Company.
She dabbles in other sciences in her spare time. Rosen led a team that constructed one of the largest solar projects in the City of Henderson and southern Nevada. Rosen helped cut a synagogue’s energy bills by 70%.
Kim Schrier
Kim is a pediatrician!
Now we’re talking. Things are getting real sciency now.
Dr. Schrier earned a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in astrophysics. (MORE BONUS SCIENCE!)
She attended the University of California Davis School of Medicine, where she graduated a Doctor of Medicine. She completed her residency at the Stanford University School of Medicine.
Stan Frickin’ Ford.
Say Mr. PATH, do you think they accept shitty doctors into the residency program of one of the most prestigious medical programs in the country?
Asking for a friend.
Elaine Luria
Elaine was just a lowly nuclear engineer.
For the Navy.
Where she operated nuclear reactors on giant ships.
Like this one.
Tumblr media
With reactors like this one.
Tumblr media
That doesn’t look very complicated. Just shove uranium in the hole and press a button probably.
She eventually reached the rank of Commander where she led Assault Craft Unit TWO. A fleet of vessels specializing in getting to places super fast that are far away. They can be on the go within 24 hours.
I’m guessing that’s not a job that needs a competent commander or anything. The Navy probably just puts any rube in charge.
Sean Casten
Next up we have probably the dumbest science guy in the bunch. This guy seems like a real dud in a lab coat.
Casten earned a bachelor of arts in molecular biology and biochemistry from Middlebury College. He worked as a scientist at the Tufts University School of Medicine in a laboratory investigating dietary impacts on colon and breast cancer. He earned a Master of Engineering Management and a Master of Science in biochemical engineering from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College.
Dart Frickin’ Mouth.
While at Dartmouth, he worked to develop technologies for alternative heat and power generation technologies including the production of fuel grade ethanol.
After he was done slacking earning only 3 degrees in bio-whatever, he went on to be the CEO of his own renewable energy company, Recycled Energy Development.
They have been able to invest over a billion dollars into alternative energy technologies that might help save the planet.
SOUNDS PRETTY DUMB.
Joe Cunningham
Joe graduated from Florida Atlantic University as an ocean engineer.
Florida Frickin’ Atlantic University.
Okay, I’ve never heard of that school.
But I’m sure the ocean engineering program is very nice.
After graduating he worked for 5 years as a consultant for a major company that specializes in marine, environmental, and coastal engineering.
Joe then went back to school to get his law degree. Which means he has a science background and a decent understanding of the laws he will be trying to change and improve.
Chrissy Houlahan
I bet this next one is a really sucky scientist.
This is where I prove you right, Mr. PATH. I can feel it. I mean, Chrissy? That doesn’t sound like the name of a competent scientist.
Chrissy got her Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Stanford University.
Meh... now that I think about it... Stanford is overrated.
She then earned a Masters Degree in Technology and Policy from something called the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology? What the heck is that?
Pssh, it’s not like she went to M.I.T. or something.
Now THAT would have been frickin’ impressive.
Chrissy also spent 3 years in something called the “U.S. Air Force.” She was a project manager in charge of air and space defense technologies.
That sounds fake.
Heh, maybe she’ll build lasers for some fictional space force with a stupid name only a 4-year-old would think is cool.
Chrissy also-also did voluntary community service working with girls and women in science, technology, engineering, and math.
What’s the point, amirite? That guy from Google said women’s brains no work good at math, so her volunteer work was probably a waste of time.
WHAT BUNCH OF MORONS.
You made fun of a liberal science journal called Fat Studies. You also implied that everyone on the left got together and collectively started it. Which... okay... sure... it was discussed at the meeting. We all contribute to and support Fat Studies. Every single one of us.
Yes, they did get duped into publishing a fake research paper and I’m sure that’s why you mentioned it. But their editorial board still has 18 people with PhDs. I read a few articles and while I wouldn’t say it is the most esteemed journal in the world, it does push forward conversations about fat acceptance and references some genuine research that has been peer reviewed. They basically want fat people to be more respected. HOW DARE THEY?
It’s definitely a mixed bag with a left-leaning bias. Perhaps it would be better if they took a more objective approach. But I can see how you might think they don’t live up to your strict scientific standards.
However, do you think the Republican leadership is up to your standards?
Do you remember when Senator Jim Inhofe brought a snowball into the Senate chamber to disprove global warming?
Tumblr media
Fat Studies has a very small readership and minimal influence. No one voted for them. They are an easy example for you to cherry pick and laugh at.
But Ol’ Jim here is a US Senator. He can change all of our lives. This guy brought a snowball inside and in front of the entire world said global warming can’t be real cuz it was cold that day.
Do you feel like that would hold up to scientific scrutiny?
Let's look at some more Republicans!
Donald J. Trump
This one is too easy. But he did just say this...
“One of the problems that a lot of people like myself ― we have very high levels of intelligence, but we’re not necessarily such believers. You look at our air and our water, and it’s right now at a record clean. As to whether or not it’s man-made and whether or not the effects that you’re talking about are there, I don’t see it — not nearly like it is.”
I guess he didn’t read that 1700 page climate study just released that said the opposite of that. Also, 60 percent of Americans live in areas where air pollution has reached unhealthy levels that can make people sick. SO CLEAN!
Ben Carson
Not only is Ben a prominent Republican figure and the current Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, but he is also a neurosurgeon and Yale graduate. He has got to be the best representative of a more science-minded Republican. Let’s find out!
“How are flowers able to reproduce? Pollination. How does pollination occur? Bees and other creatures. And according to evolution, plants came along before the bees. So, how did the plants reproduce?“
CHECKMATE, DARWIN!
He also believes the Earth was created in 6 days. Humans have only been around for 6,000 years. The Big Bang is stupid. The pyramids were built to store grain. And $31,000 is a reasonable amount to spend on a dining room set.
Steve King
Steve just got elected in the midterms. He’s the guy that partied with some white supremacists in Austria. He went to college and majored in math and science. Nice!
But he dropped out... less nice.
He still has some interesting thoughts on science.
"Climate change is more a religion than a science. Everything that might result from a warmer planet is always bad. There will be more photosynthesis going on if the Earth gets warmer. We don't know where sea level is even, let alone be able to say that it's going to come up an inch globally because some polar ice caps might melt because there's CO2 suspended in the atmosphere.”
WHERE IS THE SEA LEVEL? WE JUST DON’T KNOW.
It’s not like we have satellites that have been able to measure the sea level with unprecedented accuracy (within millimeters) since 1992.
Let’s look at some members of the House Science Committee.
That might be a fairer comparison, right? It’s got “science” right in the name!
Paul Broun
He was probably the only Republican STEM scientist in Congress before he retired. He is a physician who earned a bachelor's in chemistry.
Let’s hear him do a science.
“God's word is true. I've come to understand that. All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and Big Bang theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of hell.”
Yikes.
Frank Lucas
“Sound science must be the cornerstone of sound policy.”
Hey! That sounds promising!
“Most telling of the EPA's irrational regulatory approach is how the EPA has concluded that the breath that we exhale, the gas that livestock expels, are dangerous pollutants and should be regulated by the Clean Air Act.“
Yeah! How could CO2 and methane possibly be problematic? It’s perfectly natural! We breathe it. Cows blow it out their pooper. So safe.
What we really need to regulate is Dihydrogen Monoxide. Everyone who has ever ingested DHMO has died. Technically.
Dana Rohrabacher
He chaired the House Science Committee for a while and is still an active member. I’m sure he has some deep thoughts on scientific matters.
“We don’t know what those other cycles were caused by in the past. Could be dinosaur flatulence, you know, or who knows?”
I wonder if he has published that hypothesis in a scientific journal.
Tumblr media
This isn’t going well.
What we really need is a science enthusiast. Someone who has shown a true fascination and interest in things like space, rocketry, and defense technology.
Someone like that would totally be a fair comparison.
Mo Brooks
Mo just got reelected and he is constantly talking about what a strong advocate he is for science.
Let’s check him out!
Tumblr media
Mo Brooks is a longtime member of several scientific committees.
Committee on Science, Space & Technology Subcommittee on Energy Vice Chairman - Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics (aka NASA)
Wow! He’s partly responsible for a lot of our nation’s science junk. PERFECT!
One of Mo’s favorite pastimes is going someplace sciency, wearing a lab coat, and smiling at stuff he doesn’t understand.
“Hey fellas! Can I press some buttons? I love pressing the buttons.”
Tumblr media
“Is this a science? Mo don’t know.”
Tumblr media
“I bet this makes some tasty kettle corn.”
Tumblr media
“He let me push the button! SO HAPPY!”
Tumblr media
Since Mo is on the committee that helps direct NASA and its funding, you’d think he’d be up to speed on the latest climate science. After all, NASA is one of the world’s leading climate science researchers.
Here’s a hot take from Mo...
“Nobody knows whether we're going to have global cooling or global warming over the next half century or century."
Actually, NASA has an entire website called “How do we know?”
It’s got colorful graphs like this one.
Tumblr media
It even has this giant quote in big bold letters that Mo could see even without his reading spectacles.
Tumblr media
I feel like Chairman Mo should put on his lab coat and read that website. I’m sure his grandkids can pull that up for him.
What else you got, Mo?
“What about erosion? Every time you have that soil or rock, whatever it is, that is deposited into the seas, that forces the sea levels to rise because now you've got less space in those oceans because the bottom is moving up.”
You read that correctly...  Mo thinks rocks falling into the ocean are causing the sea levels to rise instead of ice melting from global warming.
Would you like to know just how dumb that statement is?
3,000,000,000,000,000 kilograms of rocks would need to fall into the ocean every year. The Cliffs of Dover dumped an estimated 45,000,000 kilograms of chalk into the sea after a sudden collapse. Avalanches like that would have to happen 66 million times every year.
What'chu talkin' 'bout Mo?
You may think I cherry-picked these people to make Republicans look worse. I actually could not find anyone in the leadership with a decent science literacy track record. And many of these people are in charge of our nation’s science policy. (Unlike Fat Studies.) So that is especially relevant.
I guess what I’m saying is... I’d take a mediocre Democrat scientist over Mo anytime.
But it seems like the ones just elected are actually pretty exceptional.
Even the dentist.

BatO was a good start. We get a lot of hints of stuff to come, and the obvious start of character arcs for everyone. Duke has something to prove, and PTSD from Karma. Cass is trying to connect with him over it, and it’s also hinted that she’s processing that she’s learned how she will die back in TEC. Jeff feels like Bruce is using him as a crutch to avoid needing to engage with the team. Bruce isn’t helping with that feeling because he’s an emotionally stunted child who has a doctorate in avoiding interpersonal issues until they explode. Something is going on with Tatsu’s sword. Sofia has an interesting backstory and a lot of potential to interact with the team. Random 90s guy is there.
I’m having a good time.

QuakeCon Fallout 76 panel
Panel begins at around 37:50, but if you want to skip the panel intro (in which nothing happens) and a replay of the E3 trailer, go to 42:18. Panel includes Fallout 76 development director Chris Meyer, project leader Jeff Gardiner, and game director Todd Howard.
Important/noteworthy info (I’m sure this is riddled with spelling mistakes, bad grammar, maybe even conflicting info; if you notice anything, let me know):
In regards to questing and general feel, FO76 remains “very similar to the Fallout you know and love.” Howard describes it as being 80% the familiar feel of Fallout, with the other 20% being “really different.”
FO76 has more “adventure elements,” focuses more on what it means to live in the world. It “has to feel real” to the player. The game “has a slow burn,” and they want you to really feel like you are your character in this game.
FO76 uses the Quake III networking architecture.
According to Gardiner, Bethesda Montreal is working on the game’s graphics, while Bethesda Austin is comprised of gameplay and network code experts.
Bethesda debuts the Fallout 76 Perks trailer (in the style of similar animated Vault-Tec trailers which came out before FO4), including things like mutations.
Character creation in Fallout 76 is shown at 54:40. The CC has been improved over FO4, though no details on how or why are given. Immediately after creating your character, you are taken to a screen where you can take your Vault-Tec ID badge photo, using the game’s photo mode, which allows you to select character poses and facial expressions.
Photo mode can be used at any time throughout gameplay, and photos you’ve taken appear in load screens. These are randomized along with “curated photos.”
Loading screens do not appear often, but there is a “little one” whenever you fast travel.
You can change your character’s appearance at any point throughout gameplay, from your hairstyle to even your gender.
At 56:25, gameplay is shown of emerging from the Vault, including your first level-up.
Leveling up begins with choosing whichever one of your SPECIAL attributes you wish to increase, which is followed by choosing an available “perk card” under that category. This seems much less cluttered than FO4′s perk chart screen. Taking a perk again increases its rank up to a seeming maximum of three. Each perk card has a “point cost” which requires a certain SPECIAL level in order to equip it.
“The levels keep going up and up and up. We don’t want to make a game where you have to stop leveling, but we had to make some very interesting decisions on what that means for a multiplayer game for balance.
We see level-ups to level 2, level 4, and then level 42. At 58:37, at the level 42 level-up screen, the player is wielding a crossbow.
PERKS SEEN: (any words in brackets were cut off; all assumptions are my own, though any indicated with ? I am unsure of--KEEP IN MIND that the numbers are affected by PERK RANKS and are thus subject to change; the numbers here are taken from perks of various tiers; this includes things like “there’s no chance you’ll be addicted to alcohol,” which is a level 3 perk, in which we can assume the first two levels just have a lowered chance)

STARCHED GENES: You will never mutate from rads and RadAway will never cure mutations.
MYSTERY MEAT: Stimpaks generate excessive, edible meat. Higher Rads improve the chance.
MYSTERIOUS STRANGER: The Mysterious Stranger appears more often when using VATS. [This perk is at level 2 of 3; assume that the Stranger only begins appearing if you have level 1]
LUCK OF THE DRAW: Your weapon has a 10% chance to regain condition when hitting an enemy.
CAN DO!: [30%?] chance to find an extra canned good when you “search” a [?] container.
You can pick any perk that you meet the requirements for when you level up. More become available as you level.
Your stat level determines how many perks you can have active at a time: A character with 12 Strength is shown to have one level 3 perk, three level 2 perks, and three level 1 perks, adding up to 12. Cards can be worth up to 5 points, with each capping at different tiers.
Each SPECIAL stat has a cap of 15.
Charisma in FO76 is designed to share your perk cards with other players in your team.
Perk cards can be unlocked in card packs, which you initially get every two levels, until level 10, after which you get one every five, in addition to the single perk card you unlock every level. They come with four cards and a stick of gum, which can be used as a food item. The gum wrapper has a joke in it, all of which are written by Emil Pagliarulo (writer of such things as Oblivion’s Dark Brotherhood questline, Skyrim’s guard dialogue, and Fallout 4′s main storyline).
You can swap out your perks at any time.
There are “hundreds” of perk cards.
SPECIAL points cannot be increased after level 50, but you can still pick a perk card every level after that.
Beta goes live in October.
They fully expect FO76 to be broken at first; the beta will be used as a stress test.
FO76 will be updated regularly after launch; Todd states it will be a “different game” one, two, five years after it comes out.
On PvP, griefing: When you shoot another player, you do a little bit of damage, not full damage, described as an “invitation” to combat, like “slapping somebody at a bar.” If the other player engages, then both enter combat and do full damage. There is a cap reward to combat based on the players’ levels; you will get more caps for killing a high-level character than a low-level character. When you are killed, you can “seek revenge,” which doubles the reward for killing them.
An attacking player can still kill someone who does not wish to engage, but if they do (i.e., against their will), they become a “wanted murderer,” and get no reward for it (no caps, no XP) and appear on everyone’s map as a red star with a bounty on their head--a bounty which comes out of their own caps. They are also unable to see any other players on their map.
Sneaking removes you from the map (unless you are wanted).
When you die, you drop your junk items--think crafting materials, a large portion of the gameplay loop. You can store your junk in a stash. The point of this is to represent sunk time, to make sure you are preparing before heading into a dangerous area.
You can respawn at any fast travel point; the point closest to you is free, the Vault 76 entrance is free, but everything beyond that has a cap cost dependent on distance from you.
PvP does not “kick off” until level 5.
You are able to “ignore and block” players; ignoring blocks them for the session. (Assuming blocking means you won’t be matchmade with them again?)
There is a “pacifist flag” (mode) which sets the game so you cannot accidentally engage in combat, so that no one can trick you into fighting by jumping in front of your bullets (further preventing griefing)
PvP is balanced so that stronger players will indeed be harder to kill, but if you play cleverly and well you can still manage to come out on top; the cap reward will be incredibly high if you pull off a kill on someone much higher in level
Blueprint system: Save blueprints to a creation so that you can easily rebuild it if it gets destroyed, and so that it can be moved within your camp to fit it nicely with the terrain whenever you move somewhere new.
Camps can be destroyed so that you cannot grief players by trapping them inside a prison.
Example of a trap set by Bethesda employee: Player sat in the middle of the road playing a tuba, but built turrets in the foliage to the side of the road. When players attempt to attack him, the turrets turn on them and fire from the foliage, killing them first.
Camp can be moved so that players can move their camps around when they find a nicer spot, but players tend to settle in to a specific place to keep their camp.
There is voice chat for your team, and for the game world; area-based, so you can hear players near you.
VATS is now real-time. You cannot initially target individual body parts, and the ability to do that is a perk you can unlock. Percentage to hit is based on your Perception. VATS can be used to find players (as you can in other modern Fallout games).
VATS becomes more and more useful the more you invest in Perception.
Inon Zur is scoring Fallout 76.
Licensed music: FO76 has more tracks than have ever been in a Fallout game. There are radio stations you can listen to. There is a balance of “classic” tracks used in older Fallout games, as well as songs new to the series; they seem to be drawing most heavily from 40s music this time around. Howard says there is an “unbelievable amount” of weird, wacky 40s music.
Private servers are definitely happening, specifically because they want people to be able to mod the game. It’s going to be “very, very complicated,” but Bethesda is “committed to it.” They are in the process of solving that problem.

1989: Joseph T. Wesbecker walked into his former employer Standard Gravure Corp and shot 20 workers, killing nine. He had been taking Prozac for a month. This shooting led to a landmark case, where the survivors sued the makers of Prozac, Eli Lilly. Wesbecker used a semiautomatic Chinese AK-47-style firearm, a 9mm pistol, and a .38 Special snubnose revolver – all of which he purchased legally, passing his background check.
1995: Jarred Viktor was 15 when he was prescribed Paxil. Ten days after starting it, Viktor stabbed his grandmother 61 times.
1996: At 18, Kurt Danysh murdered his father just 17 days after being prescribed Prozac by his family doctor, who failed to do even one psychological test. During his police confession, Danysh told police the medication made him feel odd, “I just act differently. I don’t have the energy or personality I used to. I spend half the time in a trance.”
1997: Luke Woodham stabbed his mother, then traveled to Pearl High School, where he was enrolled, using a .30-30 to shoot two students and wound six others; he was stopped by his assistant principal (aka a good guy with a gun) who used his own .45 ACP handgun to force Woodham’s surrender.
1998: 15-year-old Kip Kinkel shot both of his parents, then carried a 9mm handgun, .22 rifle, and a .22 pistol to his Thurston High School, where he murdered two classmates and injured 22 more, all while taking Prozac.
1999: Eric Harris, 17, with Dylan Klebold, killed 12 students, one teacher, himself, and wounded 23 others during the Columbine school shooting; he had been prescribed Zoloft and then Luvox before he used a 12 gauge shotgun received through a straw purchaser and a 9mm TEC-DC9.
2001: Christopher Pittman, a 12-year-old, was prescribed Zoloft, which caused him to become agitated, jittery, and experience tactile hallucinations; Pittman told psychiatrist Dr. Lanette Atkins that he heard voices telling him, “Kill, kill, do it, do it.” He took a .410 shotgun and shot his grandparents, then burned their house down.
2001: Andrea Yates drowned all five of her children. She was taking Effexor and was suffering from delusions about satanic possession. The murder of her children led Effexor to list homicidal thoughts in the medication’s side effects. Although it’s a rare side effect, manifesting in one in 1,000 patients, over 19 million prescriptions were written and filled in 2005. That’s an estimated 19,000 people suffering from homicidal thoughts because of the medication.
2005: 16-year-old Jeff Weise was taking 60 mg/day of Prozac, the highest dosage for adults, when he shot his grandfather, his grandfather’s girlfriend, murdered 10 students at Red Lake, Minnesota, and wounded 12 more, before shooting himself. He was armed with a .40 caliber pistol, .22 pistol, and a 12 gauge shotgun.
2008: Steven Kazmierczak was prescribed Prozac, Xanax, and Ambien, a sleeping medication, three weeks before walking into Northern Illinois University, killing six people and wounding 21, with three pistols (one chambered in 9mm and two in .380 ACP) and a shotgun. Kazmierczak had stopped taking the antidepressant “because it made him feel like a zombie.”
2009: Two weeks after starting Lexapro, Robert Stewart walked into his estranged wife’s work at Pinelake Health and Rehab, and opened fire. He killed eight elderly patients and wounded three others. He doesn’t remember the incident.
2012: James Holmes, also known as the Batman Movie killer, was taking sertraline when he walked into the showing of The Dark Knight with two .40 caliber pistols, an AR-style .223 rifle, and a 12 gauge shotgun, killing 12 people and injuring 70 others. In his personal notebook, which he sent to his psychiatrist the same day as the shooting, shows that as the medication decreased his anxiety, he lost his fear of consequences. As the dosage became higher, his thoughts became more obsessive and psychotic.
2013: At the time of the Washington Navy Yard shooting, Aaron Alexis was a civilian contractor working at the yard and was prescribed trazodone, a serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor (SARI) that works much like an SSRI to increase serotonin levels in the brain. He killed 12 people and injured eight others.
2014: Ivan Lopez was a 34-year-old U.S. soldier who shot 15 of his comrades, killing three of them, at his base in Fort Hood, Texas. He was undergoing mental health treatment through the Veterans’ Administration, which is known for over-prescribing medication. The VA confirmed that Lopez was taking antidepressants (the VA only uses SSRI antidepressants) during the time of the shooting and his subsequent suicide.
2015: From the moment it occurred, the Charleston Church shooting has been deemed an act of white supremacy, a race crime against blacks. But two years after Dylann Roof shot and killed nine people and injured another, the court released documents that show it was more mental health than hatred that led to the murders. The documents confirmed he was taking antidepressants.
2016: Arcan Cetin, who was just 20 years old, walked into the Cascade Mall where he shot and killed four women, one just a teen, and shot one man, who later died at the hospital. Records show that Cetin was under the care of a psychiatrist and taking medication for depression and ADHD, including Prozac
