ok now that episode 50 is out and has a transcript i can finally do this. behold the fruits of my labor (i think)

season 3 being the highest despite being on the shorter end episode-wise does not surprise me because nobody was having a good time but season 5 is. weirdly low?? maybe because they didn't have any big fights after the first episode so most of the swearing was incidental at the situation.

hang on i actually went over the individual episodes to verify that number against what grep spit out and i've actually learned something funnier, which is that episodes 41 and 42 have 37/25 instances of "fuck" each and then after that it's largely single digits?? arthur getting composted fixed their language??

Do you play any romhacks? Do you have any to recommend?

i must be the bearer of bad news, i have a really hard time getting myself to play romhacks for some reason, i think i'm just too busy doing stuff in mainline pokemon that it's hard to rip my attention away. i watch a good chunk of content about romhacks on youtube so i'm aware of them, but i can't give any personal recommendation from my own gameplay experience other than like, i played a little bit of Emerald Rogue (turns emerald into a roguelike) and i thought it was cool

that being said if you also are chill with RPG Maker fangames, the only pokemon fangame i've ever played to completion and thoroughly enjoyed was Pokemon Infinity - hands down my favorite pokemon fangame i've ever played. i've tried games like reborn and rejuvenation and insurgence and they've all irked me one way or another and couldn't keep my attention away from main series but infinity was so good it actually held my attention away, which is a feat. not all fakemon but the fakemon that exist are good, genuinely really good looking custom graphics, difficult enough but not overchallenging battles, a story that is actually pretty engaging especially for a pokemon fangame, and my favorite part was actually the route design - when you open the town map for the first time it looks TINY but that's because there's so much content packed into every single location, it's awesome, perfectly encapsulates the parts of old pokemon route design and dungeon areas that i sorely miss and honestly makes it even better. oh and the creator seems like a pretty cool guy as well

Ive actually seen someone say that the new game is most likely based on the real historical event of the renovation of paris, which happened in the 1850s. It seems weird with the holographic stuff, but on the other hand the trailer does show like. Architect plans. So ig we'll see wether it really is in the future or not

see that does sound reasonable & in line with my original instincts, but I’m hesitant to fully commit to it bc last time someone said “oh yeah this is 19c-ish” the game came out and it was set in fucking. mostly-forgotten legends when most of the region’s historical structures didn’t even Exist yet. on the other hand. i would love for it to be set a little bit later than the 50s even bc a pokemon version of the art revolution happening in Paris around that time would actually be so fun

Heyy this is a silly question but how do you pass a pokemon from a game to another? I love my gigalith very much and i would like her out of gen five and onwards but i dont know how :(

tldr at minimum you'll need a 3DS and a switch and a subscription to pokemon home, or know someone who does who you can trust, and using poketransporter you pass the gigalith into bank, then pass it from bank to home, in which case you can move the gigalith into any switch game that has gigalith in it (as of answering this ask, the only available game with gigalith is sword/shield)

Welcome!!! First of all, thank you for playing it till you reach Golden Wasteland xD

Second of all, the confusion is totally understandable and normal my dude, I was also Hella confused first time around, took me like three to five days to reach the end.

Anyways! I do have some tips I'd like to share with people who probably is playing Sky for the first time but, well, got lost in it. I'll put it under the cut and do my best to make it clean, I hope it'll help! If anyone would want to help and throw their own tips and advice please feel free to do so! :DD

Don't rush

This one was advised by a friend of mine. Basically, Sky is not a game you want to 'finish' as soon as possible. There's no end to it after all, why not enjoy the process?

Basically, I advise you to not progress the game with the question of 'Where am I supposed to be?' or 'How do I progress?' make it more of a 'What's this?' question.

Focus on your current surroundings and explore as much as you can in an area. More often than what not, you can actually find a lot of Easter egg even during your first run!

Not only that collecting every Winged Light (the shinning boys) as much as possible is also a priority since it'll help you navigate through the area easier. But don't sweat about it too, some of these are just hard to reach than others!

Enjoy the process and go on an adventure!

Get some friends FRIENDS!!!

Friends helps A LOT in Sky and I absolutely am not joking in this. Sky is a social game, and it forces the mechanism of friendship to you.

Though it is quite confusing first time, here's the short explanation about the communication system in sky:

> Generally, you won't be able to talk to strangers at all. Instead, when you open the chat box, (double clicking bottom left corner slowly), everything will be converted to messages sent by anonymous in the form of long dot text. (Ex: Anonymous: ..........)

> When you befriend someone (offering candles and receiving it from someone else), you don't immediately gain the ability to talk to them unfortunately. What you get is the ability to hold their hand and offer yours in return. Which are sweet! A friend have been added to your weaponry list.

> To unlock chat system with your friends you'll have to sacrifice some candles. Tapping on your friend will open what's normally called a Friendship Tree. Here, you can spend candles to unlock various interaction with your friends.

> To unlock chat first you'll have to spend one candle to unlock the action 'High five', and then two candles to unlock 'Hug', before then spending three candles to the right side of the tree to finally unlock the chat system with your friend! There's still more to it, but I believe it'll be best for you to unlock the rest with your friend ;DD

Join the discord!!!

Not promoting it or anything but if you have a discord I believe joining the official sky server would be fun! They held event every now and then and they even provide a system for you to look for friends who are also looking for friends! Try it!

I really don't mind going along with new players and helping them through the game for the first time. It's fun!

There's also a system of QR Code friendship if you've ever found it in the friendship constellation. It basically let you be able to talk immediately with the people you've befriend through QR code without spending extra candles!

Do the current season!! And past season!!

After season of Enchantment, you're able to relieve any past season freely! I advise doing this when you have no clue on where to go! (If you don't know where some locations are you can always check the wiki!)

I advise doing this whenever you feel bored/wanting to find some sort of excitement after 'finishing' the game. Some of these can be really challenging to do for mobile playing so try them out!

FRIENDS

Please get or find some friends to play with you. (Affectionate)

Again, not only the game mechanic is kinda making you befriend people in general, but friends kinda will be the only thing that might keep you around to play for later on.

Shout-out to two of my most precious friends that I've met in Sky, we've been in the game for two years and I dare to bet that if they were not here, I wouldn't be sticking around the fandom for long.

Anyways I kinda suck at putting tips and trick into words but this is the best I can offer! If you'd like, (you or any player out there reading this), send me a DM! I wouldn't mind exchanging QR code and play together every now and then.

@jidem yep! i know nothing abt language stuff and didnt know raconteur before this but it is a word, and english does also have the verb recount which also means telling back a story (eg "he recounted his day" or "recounting adventures" seen below) so i would hazard a guess these words all come from the same roots

anyways google and duckduckgo are in general agreement that it means someone who's specifically /good/ at telling back stories which is very funny considering he had. i was going to say the charisma of a sock puppet but honestly you can get a lot of expression and life out of those. he had the charisma of a wet pair of jeans you just peeled off and dropped in a pile on the floor

ingo is under the impression that melli thinks he's incompetent and annoying. ingo is also under the impression that melli thinks this about everyone. this is because melli tells everyone this every chance he gets. he also thinks this is kind of a fair assessment in his case, because, like, most wardens get training in how to Be A Warden. he very much did not. he's just kind of. guessing his way through it. so like. yeah! melli objectively knows more than him and while he can be kind of a jerk about it, it's not entirely unwarranted for melli to regard him as unskilled.

jokes on him though bc melli didn't fucking go through any training either he just followed in his big sister's tradition of showing up at the noble's seat and not leaving. i'm still on the fence abt how... idk, self aware melli is, but i think in general he does like/respect ingo more than he will ever actually admit. he may not know specifically the ins and outs of being sneasler's warden, but he knows pokemon in general very well and is adept at handling them, and he does also clearly take the responsibility of the position very seriously, which is one of the things that's most important in melli's opinion. also i don't think melli's ever... known a highlands warden before ingo. like, the one point of comparison he has is the guy who fucked off and abandoned everyone almost two decades ago. so between that, and No Warden At All, and ingo, there's kind of no competition. having the extra pair of hands is REALLY helpful even if melli will staunchly deny that he ever had any trouble doing everything by himself.

on the flipside, i think melli. kind of thinks ingo is a little obsessed with him because the dude will Not leave him alone. in reality ingo just goes stir crazy if he doesn't get his required amount of human interaction per week and melli is the closest available person to fill that quota. like i said though, ingo DOES think melli is a very capable and knowledgeable warden who also happens to be kind of an asshole (maybe unconsciously?? he's not sure about this one) but generally puts up with his habit of not knowing basic things about hisui, or sinnoh, or being a warden, and wandering off or zoning out staring at a lake for hours, or forgetting conversations they had Yesterday, pretty well, which is appreciated.

12. if B asked A for help, how likely would they be to give it?

oooh this is a fun one. in the very very rare case that melli asks (or, more likely, demands) ingo's help with something, i mean ingo is like. physically incapable of NOT agreeing to help when he is directly asked. it's really more a question of how far into asking melli can get before he cuts him off. it also helps that if melli's asking, this is probably something that's either really important or needs more than one person to deal with, or both.

on the flipside though. i already mentioned that i think melli runs into a lot of ingo Not Knowing Things, and while he might roll his eyes about it, melli loves to fucking talk, and he LOVES getting to be an authority on things. so that's one of the cases where melli's almost definitely going to help, but less so out of the goodness of his heart or anything than that he just enjoys it.

in other cases than that one, though... i think ultimately if ingo asks for help with like, general warden duties, aiding a traveler, etc, melli will help him, because while it's a terrible imposition you jerk, sinnoh forbid he is caught slacking, or suggesting anything is outside of his power, or disrespecting his fellow wardens and nobles in any way. he is the epitome of "it's rotten work, i'll fucking do it but christ alive." also he will never admit it but melli DOES care about ingo on a personal level, and is pretty fucking angry abt what he sees as someone intentionally attacking a warden (even tho ingo wasn't a warden yet shh) and permanently scarring him re: amnesia, so if it's anything personal or related to that melli WOULD also go to bat for him. not bc he cares tho. this is a Principles thing.
