The Thing is one of my absolute FAVORITES of the horror genre. Released 40+ years ago and hasn’t aged a bit. Bloody incredible.

Throwback Video

The Thing is maybe John Carpenter’s best movie or at least closest to a studio giving him Kubrick/ Nolan money to do whatever he wanted. It’s like his big auteur sci-fi/ horror blockbuster.

Also congrats on it now being 42 this week.
