#Jonathan Steve and Nancy friendship plz

I love the idea of the monster hunting trio becoming best friends.
Because look at them.
You've got Jonathan, the social outcast who's just trying to protect and look out for his little brother.
Steve, the former prom king who's had his whole world turned upside down. And despite everything steps in and helps Jonathan out.
The same guy who's camera broke and had a fight with.
Nancy who's the idolised girl next door who's mourning her best friend. The one who brings both Steve and Jonathan together.
And they have reasons for not liking the others.
Nancy dumped Steve and said their whole relationship was bullshit.
Everything Steve did to Jonathan.
Jonathan not liking Nancy because of Steve.
And maybe they all want to forget it.
Forget each other.
But they can't.
Because Nancy helped Jonathan.
Because Steve came to apologise.
Because Nancy threatened Steve with a gun to get him to leave.
Because Steve jumped in anyway because he couldn't leave them behind.
Because Jonathan grabs Steve and Nancy's hands to get them out of harms way.
This is their troll in the dungeon moment.
All of them alone.
Steve falls from the social ladder to rock bottom.
Nancy lost the person she loved the most.
Jonathan has always been alone. He has his brother back and his mum but he can't talk to them.
Will's suffered enough and Jonathan has always been Joyce's pillar of strength not the other way around.
And finds himself with 2 people who are as drawn to him as he is now drawn to them.
It suprised them all, even himself when he made the first move.
Sitting beside Steve at lunch.
Steve who was poking at his lunch in the corner alone. Startled looking up at Jonathan, who asks if he can sit.
Steve nods, baffled.
Jonathan puts his tray down, they both eat in silence for a bit before.
"I forgive you."
Steve blinks, but Jonathan stared down a demogorgan so he's not put off at all.
"You said you came to my house to apologise, right?"
Steve nods.
Jonathan looks at him, really looks at him. He doesn't see King Steve, just... Steve.
"So, I forgive you."
Steve blinks, processes it before chuckling. Shaking his head as he does so. "... You are definitely something Byers."
He frowns "and I'm sorry for... Everything."
Jonathan smiles "I forgive you. And I'm sorry for... Everything too."
Steve smiles, "I forgive you."
That's when Nancy walks up to them.
She barely gets a word out before Steve's getting up and both walk away to talk in private.
Jonathan hums to himself, eating his lunch abd not long later both return.
There's tear tracks on both of their cheeks that have been brushed away.
But, as Steve re-takes his seat with Nancy sitting beside Jonathan.
The tension is gone.
They both look lighter and happier.
"So... Did you do the essay for Mrs Clicks class?" Asked Jonathan.
And the world continues on.
It's werid because they all fit like they've always been together.
Jonathan is very aware Steve got him his new camera.
He's suprised when he doesn't feel embarrassed for getting a newer model that definitely didn't cost much for Steve.
Instead it's, thankfulness.
Steve seems happier than he does when Jonathan goes out and about with it, snapping shots here and there.
Even asking about it and while Steve looks much like Jonathan does when Will is on a D&D rant, he listens intently.
Steve starts taking up drawing, he mentiond off handedly he used to but his dad thinks it's for girls.
Jonathan, mentally putting Mr Harrington in the same category of men as Lonnie, offhandedly mentions how Will loves art.
And if he leaves an unused sketchbook at Steve's house one time that he sees him carrying with him everywhere now.
Than that's his buisness.
It's not until one day where they both somehow end up in a conversation about lighting, that Steve thanks him.
Jonathan merely shrugs and says he really just got him it to get free doodles.
Steve bumps shoulders with him and snorts "in your dreams, Jonathan."
And where there is Jonathan and Steve, their is Nancy.
She's always got a point and sometimes Jonathan likes to throw out random scenarios just to see the cogs in her brain work.
She's endlessly passionate and was halfway through ranting about the school system before she realised and fondly swatted his shoulder.
Nancy doesn't fancy herself artsy like them but she adores her books.
She writes little notes in the margins, dog ears pages and even hallowed out an old textbook to store snacks.
They both attend Steve's basketball and swim events abd despite no longer dating Nancy wears his letterman.
Steve jokes that she staked her claim on it.
Neither of them have any idea what's going on but cheer loud and obnoxiously whenever Steve gets a point.
Steve's given up explaining sports to them but he doesn't care because their his best cheerleaders.
Jonathan actually had to hold Nancy back from throwing hands when the referee when a certain blonde pushed Steve over.
Speaking off... Things aren't always so great.
Jonathan ends up taking Steve's offer to stay over more often than not.
He gets uneasy being in his house for too long.
Nancy comes over, at first twice a week when she lied to her mother about sleepovers.
To just sneaking out and staying over when the nightmares are bad.
She and Steve both drained his pool.
Steve is relieved with their company because he hates being alone.
More so now than ever.
They all end up with walkies with their own channel, checking up on each other whenever they are apart.
Signing off before bed in the rare times they're all in their own.
Most of the time they're at Steve's, crashing in his room.
Sometimes on sleeping bags or a blanket nest but at this point they just curl up in a pile on his bed.
Steve is absolutely touch starved.
Nancy is also but not as bad and they both end up clinging to Jonathan who's a hugger.
They all know the sound of each others screams at 3am.
Nancy cries out in her sleep.
Steve is near silent but his whole body freezes up.
Jonathan wakes up with a horrified gasp.
Billy refuses to leave Steve alone and so he comes back with bruises and minor injuries that Jonathan takes care of.
Steve sleeps with the nailed bat in reach.
Nancy has a gun nearby.
Jonathan has a knife.
They all patrol at night and in random hours of the morning when they can't sleep.
They hold each other through fear and nightmares like their the only things that feel real.
All 3 of them are parentified and all bond over feeling like they are in their mid thirties rather than teenagers.
Everyone's failed them and they only have each other.

Falling for you
Hey! Could you maybe write a Steve x reader to where readers the girl robin used to like (bathroom scene from season 3) but Steve didn’t know her, never paid attention to her in high school? But he ends up falling for her not knowing it’s robin's ex-crush! Ending up to you! (Robin moved on plz!)
Request by anon ❤
Steve Harrington x Reader
Warnings; Angst to fluff
Changed this a tiny bit so Steve does know that y/n is Robin's crush and his struggle to be loyal to his friendship with Robin and fight his feelings for the reader.
"Y/n Y/l/n," Robin says softly. "I wanted her to look at me. But she couldn’t pull her eyes away from you and your stupid hair. And I didn’t understand because you would get bagel crumbs all over the floor. And you asked dumb questions. And you were a douchebag. And you didn’t even like her and I would go home and just scream into my pillow."
"But y/n's a girl?". Steve asks confused and Robin stares at him and murmurs softly.
"Steve". Then it clicks what she means. " Oh".
He didn't know who y/n was, never noticed in high school. So when Robin told him about her crush he was puzzled at who she was talking about.
Then a few months later y/n walked into Family video though he didn't realise it at that point.
''Hi, I'm looking for Halloween. Can you help?". He looks up and gapes slightly but quickly hides it and tries to be cool but it's hard because the woman is freaking gorgeous.
"Of course, I'm Steve. What's your name?".
"Y/n, she then tells him her last name and he looks up so fast recognising it immediately. She's the girl from Mrs Clicks class that Robin liked.
He could see why Robin was so smitten with her, the minute he saw her he thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever met.
"I know who you are. King Steve, she murmurs shyly. Everyone knew you in high school Steve".
I wish I knew you he thinks softly and curses himself that he didn't pay enough attention in high school, so much time was taken up by Nancy, then grieving the loss of Nancy to Jonathan.
He offers her help and heads over to where she is searching, directing her to the horror movie shelf and finds the video tape.
Time and time again he is captivated by her pretty smile, her beautiful eyes.
He's smitten but he can't do anything because Robin is his best friend and he would never hurt her by dating her crush, Robin could very well still have those feelings, deep feelings.
His friendship was more important to him than anything so he helped her find the movie and watched her go.
That wasn't the end of it though, y/n came in a lot of the time. He couldn't help it but he began to get to know her and he began to fall for her even more, he couldn't though he knew he couldn't.
So when y/n came in looking very shy and with a sparkle in her eyes as she looked at him, he knew that he would have to break her heart.
He knew what she was going to ask and he couldn't hurt Robin like that.
"Hey, Steve. There's a showing of Romancing the Stone would you like to come and see it with me?". He swallows and god he wants to say yes but he can't.
Her smile fades as he doesn't answer and she bites her lip.
"I mean only if you want to". She murmurs sounding more unsure now and his chest tightens.
"I can't... You're great sweetheart but I don't feel that way about you". He lies through his teeth. He watches as her heart breaks and he feels sick.
"Oh, right. Guess it was a long shot. Should have learned from high school really". She jokes but theirs pain in her tone and she hides her tears.
"I should go, I'm sorry for asking". She rushes out, right past Robin who gapss at her then him and when the door slams shut she turns to him confused.
"What the hell is going on?".
Robin listens as Steve explains to her about meeting y/n, how he fell for her immediately but buried the feelings because of her.
He assumed she still had feelings for y/n and even if she didn't it was still a crush she had and he would never betray her by going after a past crush.
Robin was touched, she really was. Steve had been amazing since she came out to him and his dedication to their friendship was something truly wonderful.
"Steve, I wish you had just asked, I've been over y/n for a long time and I like Vickie, you know who's in band with me, you met her last week?".
His eyes widen and he swears.
"Shit". Robin takes his hand.
"Steve, I'm over y/n. Don't hold back for me, go and get your girl".
He doesn't need to be twice and vaults over the counter rushing after y/n.
She feels so stupid for thinking Steve liked her, didn't she learn anything from high school. He never noticed her then. Why would he now?
As she is walking down the street she hears her name being called and turns around to find Steve rushing up to her.
"Steve?". He catches his breath and runs his hand through his hair.
"I lied, I lied. You're beautiful and I can't stop thinking about you but things were complicated so I lied about having no feelings for you. I'm a dingus, as Robin would say".
She giggles and he takes her hand and kisses it.
"I'd love to go out with you sweetheart. I really would and I hope I haven't fucked up and you still want to be with me".
She softens.
"Robin's right you are a dingis, of course, I want to be with you, Steve". He relaxes and kisses her.
It was going to be the start of something wonderful, she could feel it.

Okay I know I bitch about season 4 a lot so here are some things I actually liked:
I like the basketball/dice rolling mash-up. Felt like classic ST. I like that they remind us that the highest stakes in the kids’ lives should be D&D and winning the big game rather than interdimensional war.
I like that the big bad comes directly from the opening campaign like season 1.
I like that Max gets a lot of the spotlight bc she deserves it.
I like that this season gives Lucas more to do and that he’s amazing at it. Ditto Erica.
I like Jonathan having a little buddy since he’s literally had no friends since S1.
Same goes for Nancy. She needs a friend and Ronance friendship is one of the best things ever. Bonus if they fall in love later but honestly having a platonic friend won’t hurt her.
I like that Jonathan joins the Mike Wheeler hate club.
I like that Murray gets to keep his little Russian pal this time #justiceforalexei. I hope they’re very happy together.
I like that they brought back the bikes and added bonus older kids on bikes. I literally squealed at the shot that flipped upside down and mirrored all eight of them on the bikes. More bikes plz.
I like that they found Reefer Rick via video rental archives. Very classic ST, very Scooby Doo. I like that the show points out that these kids figure out mysteries not because they have resources or money or adult help (which they don’t) but bc they’re clever.
I like that it was pretty. For the most part all the shots were really visually stunning. There were def times when cinematography outshone writing by… a lot.
I like that Dustin went from no dad in season one to two dads by season four.
I liked every single moment the actors improvised and honestly all of their performances were top notch. No notes.
I like that one of Hopper’s useless deputies is now the chief. It was a good choice since he is slightly less useless than the other one.
I like that El blows up a helicopter, continuing the grand ST tradition of not being afraid to kill people who suck/are trying to harm children and having no moral back and forth about it. Blowing up a helicopter full of military child killers is morally good.
I like that the writers were like “you’ve seen Steve and Dustin dynamic, now get ready for Steve and Max dynamic!” I like that he fills the role of the big brother she should have had rather than the shitty one she got.
I like that Papa dies and there’s absolutely no question about it this time. He is dead 5sure. I like that El doesn’t forgive him or give him absolution in death. One thing this show really gets right is that one sacrificial act doesn’t erase a lifetime of abuse. The show gets that with Billy and with Brenner. Five stars.
Similarly, I like how complicated Max’s grief is. Of course you feel survivor’s guilt over someone close to you who died for you, but of course you have mixed feelings when that person was a racist and abusive asshole to you, your friends, and your boyfriend. Of course you feel a little relieved that your tormentor is dead, and of course you feel guilty for feeling that way. So many shows are guilty of “redeeming” a character through death without any actual change or accountability and I’m glad we don’t get that here.
I like Robin. She is everything to me.
I like Eddie. See above. I am not immune to white boy of the month especially when he’s like *gestures at him* that.
I like Jopper. I feel it has been extremely well handled from the first hints in season one to the unrequited pining from Hopper in season two (that he never makes her problem, he supports her) to their sexually charged bickering in season three to her saving his fucking life this season… it’s amazing and I’m so glad the parents of the group are finally together.
Aaaaaaaaaand that’s it. But honestly that’s more than I thought there would be when I sat down to write this list.

What I want to see in Stranger Things season 5
Now that the emotional roller coaster that was season 4 is over, there are many things I hope we get in season 5. Season 4 was a lot but somethings didn’t get as much attention as they should have.
More Will- Duffers, plz give Will more to do than being a third wheel or monster alarm. I want to see him in a bigger role and get more development. Noah Schnapp is an incredible actor and was outstanding this season despite not having as much to do
Jonathan development- make him interesting again, PLEASE
Stay in Hawkins- I know the Duffers said this in an interview and I hope it’s true. Keep it focused and not too all over the place
More Steve self-reflection- I really liked hearing about his dream in season 4 and I hope we get some more scenes where he figures out what he wants from life
More tension, angst, and action- that finale in season 4 lacked both imo. I need more in season 5
End of the love triangle- either let Nancy be single or have her pick one. I don’t need another season of will she won’t she with Steve and Jonathan.
Better finale- self-explanatory
Happy ending
Robin finds her perfect woman
Max’s fate revealed
Steve and Dustin friendship

as someone not too fond of the stranger things fandom myself id love to hear some of the unpopular opinions you have lol (if you want to say!)
Well since you’re anonymous I’m playing Russian Roulette on if you’ll agree or get mad but oh well I’ve had a few glasses of wine (don’t judge me I have leftovers from thanksgiving ok lol) & I love talking about my opinions on TV shows! Unpopular Stranger Things opinion below! Warning for pettiness :)
Billy Hargrove WAS an asshole BUT he was forced into a horrifying situation he couldn’t control or understand & he’s also tragic & misunderstood. He's also an abuse victim & a child so like I GET that he's portrayed by a hot adult but still, let's engage with the story besties, he is sympathetic & tragic plz.
Jason Carver too. Sorry not sorry but if you consider the show from his POV for like two seconds he’s actually very tragic & that’s intentional cause the writers are smart.
Villains can be complex & sympathetic & that’s not just ok but GOOD.
Eddie Munson & Chrissy Cunningham’s deaths were heartbreakingly tragic but narratively necessary & excellent writing. It hurts but I wouldn’t change anything. Things that hurt aren’t bad writing & characters CANT deserve better because they’re not real & exist to serve a narrative purpose.
Annnd now for the REALLY unpopular stuff (uh oh shipping opinions)
Mike & Eleven have gone from romantic to uncomfortable & their continued relationship seems inevitable but I don’t have to like it. It’s only hindering both their development. Mike would be best developed recognizing his feelings for Will but having them rejected because Will has found someone who actually reciprocates & he’s happy (& that’s also what I want to see for Will.)
Steve & Nancy are / should be endgame. They have both grown & changed while apart & come back with a stronger than ever friendship. I’ve talked endlessly about that though so that shouldn’t be a surprise / I have other posts that go more in depth on them. I think Jonathan’s arc should be about family & learning to balance self care & his protection of family.
I like Robin/Nancy & Eddie/Steve just fine but they are literally fanon crack ships fed by the writers for fun & the intensity over them needs to chill. They’re not queer baiting. Despite enjoying the dynamics themselves I’ve had to blacklist them because fans annoy me with the over the top attitudes.
Whoo there we go Lmao

Stranger Things 3
Why did it take me this long to watch this show? Idk. Either way, I’ve seen both seasons three times in full and I just wanted to spew out some wants and “theories” about Season 3 (Even though they are still writing the season).
“Theories”:
We do not have too much to go by, considering the ending of Season 2, but there are still a few things that can be presumed to come up in season 3 or beyond.
~ BRENNER IS ALIVE!!!!
I mean the Duffer Brothers confirmed that he is alive so its only a matter of time before this son of a bitch is back trying to fuck up El’s chances of living a normal life, or trying to open another gate to the upside down, or just do something awful in general. Speaking of which...
~ The Mind Flayer will return!
Again another given considering the last shot of Season 2 is it hovering over the middle school in the upside down. The creators noted that it now knows of El’s existence, which I’m going to predict that it will find a way out of the upside down and try to posses Eleven or someone close to her.
~ The Return of Kali/Eight
I get the feeling that people are still feeling mixed about Kali, given the lukewarm reception of ST2 Episode 7, but either way there is no doubt in my mind that she will return and either help out the main crew or cause some conflict with the main crew. There is still a lot more potential back story to Kali that can be fleshed out with her experiences as a lab subject, a home life, and the start of her revenge plot. I could totally see her helping out in stopping Brenner and/or the shadow monster.
~Other numbers/ lab experiments / other undocumented people with powers
I have no doubt that there is going to be at least a few new numbers revealed/found by El and company. I don’t know if they will feature all of the numbers (might have some be dead for example), but it will be cool to see what other powers these subjects might have and how these subjects will affect the story line of the show going forward.
~ Billy and Max
I think there is a lot of vagueness still in the circumstances surrounding why Max and her family had to move to Hawkins. It has been indicated that either Billy or Max were a sole reason for the move to occur but I feel like there is a lot more going on involving Max’s Father. I have a crazy theory that Max’s Father could have been involved with the MKUltra experiments and subsequently with testing on subjects like Eleven and Kali, but that’s assuming this character will appear in this series. Someone else I know brought up a point that her dad could show up and start a custody battle over Max as a plot point, but we shall see if they want to take it that route. I can see Billy being possessed by the Mind Flayer or be used by Brenner in some way, but he will most likely be some type of bully to the kids since they are entering high school next season. I ultimately think that Season 2 was set up as the introduction for Max and Billy, and that hopefully, mainly Max, will make a larger impact in the story.
~Hopper’s Boxes
Some of the boxes featured in the trap door where Eleven finds all of the info for the Hawkins Lab include “Dad”, “New York”, and “Vietnam”. I would love to see more of Hopper’s Character explored, especially the “Vietnam” box. Based off of what my parents have told me about the Vietnam war (and how horrible mentally it was for those who served during that time), I think there is a lot of potential to incorporate the effects of war on characters like Hopper.
~Another time jump
1 year? 2 years? who knows, all I know is that the kids will be in High school so that will lead to some new situations for our gang.
And now some personal wants that I would Like to see happen in season 3 or beyond:
~JOYCE AND HOPPER NEED TO BECOME A COUPLE LIKE OMG PLZ
~Mike and Eleven
Of course I want more sweet (age appropriate) moments between these two lovebirds (and soulmates, fight me), they are just precious and need to be endgame and what not. I expect there to be some type of argument to come up between them (because no relationship is perfect and it would be more realistic), but I hope it is not something very dumb, like something more significant to the plot. Otherwise I cannot wait to see the growth of these two as individuals and as a couple.
~ Lucas and Max
Same as mentioned prior, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they throw in the race element to their relationship; who knows maybe they reveal that Billy and his dad are confirmed racists or something, but if they do go down that path I hope its well executed and that it helps develop them both to be stronger people as a result, especially Max.
~MORE DUSTIN AND STEVE BROMANCE!
~Will
Goodness this kid needs a break from the upside down. I just want him to be left alone and be ok but we know that is not going to happen. I really want to see him interact more with Max and Eleven and have the chance to live in his new normal life.
~Max and Eleven
I really want these two to become really good friends. I would love to see Max take on a life coach role and educate El about the world around her. I see potential in this friendship becoming something really special.
~Eleven
I would love to see Eleven interact with everyone else more too! I want her to finally have a conversation with Will while he is not possessed. I also really want her to move from using her anger to become powerful, I think it could be a dangerous precedent and I just really want her to be happy.
~The Gang
I really want all six of the kids to hang out together and have some fun adventures. And since they will be in High school next time...
~ More interactions between the Kids and the Teens
I would love to see Jonathan, Nancy and Steve stick around and hang out more with the gang in high school. I would love more interactions between Mike and Nancy in particular as I feel shocked that after everything that has gone on there has not been more bonding between these two, plus Mike will need some relationship advice and Nancy would be great for that. I would love to see Nancy be come the surrogate Mom for the gang, similar to how Steve became the surrogate Dad, especially for Max and Eleven. I could see some cute bonding sessions occur between the girls.
~ Lets get out of Hawkins more
One thing I really don’t want the show to become is repetitive, especially with the story. I really think it is important that the characters get out of Hawkins more and deal with the big baddies in different locations.
So TDLR:
I can’t wait for Stranger Things 3 and eventhough I expect/want to see these things happen, I will be happy with whatever the Duffer Brothers dish out.
