Accompanied with an amazing crew of talented Individuals, and to my surprise of who we would be creating with, it was proof the universe, God, The Essence is speaking & listen to your words and unspoken conversation you have with yourself .Finding out that the person I was going to be working for ( Lauren London - The Devine - The Great ). The day I met ( Nipsey hussle ) I shot a few portraits of him, three Images in total to be exact. Each one perfect in there own way. After his Rising, I gifted two of my best friends the original printed images. The third image, a portrait of him facing my lens with his head held high. After I Displayed this image on social media, ( Nipsey sister ) found my portrait throughout the countless amount of images people have taken of him, she chose to have my portrait tattooed, His sister!! That I’ve never met ( Blessing!! ). I received hundreds of comments and Direct message from many people all asking me to sell prints of that image. I respectfully turned everyone’s attempt down from the start. I told myself the only person it will go to is Lauren London! I didn’t know how to get to her or make the connections to do so, with that being said the conversations you have with yourself resonate and the Universe / God / Nipsey spirit, is aware of your Intentions. Repost from @robertjkenner 💙 11 years ago today Nipsey Hussle released his landmark independent mixtape ‘The Marathon’ featuring this striking portrait by @jorgepeniche on the cover, which was overlaid with Hussle’s powerful lyrics to create Peniche’s final cover design. 🏁🏁🏁 Most of the music on the tape was recorded and engineered by Hussle himself. “Pretty much 90% of it,” said producer Wizzo, who crafted the beat for ‘U Don’t Got A Clue’ in an interview with VIBE magazine. ”I can tell because when I would go back and check out the Pro Tools sessions of some of the tracks, you can always hear the squeaky sound, which is the door to the studio. You could hear [makes door creaking sound] and then he goes in and he closes it and he goes, ‘Yeah.’ And he finishes, and he goes [makes creaking sound].” Hussle’s determination and work ethic remain a powerful inspiration to this day.
