Interesting Fact: David Cronenberg was surprised when the film was seen by some critics as a cultural metaphor for AIDS, since he originally intended the film to be a more general analogy for disease itself, terminal conditions like cancer and, more specifically, the aging process.

(1st Transylvania 6-5000, 3rd Earth Girls are Easy) Jeff Goldblum plays Seth Brundle, a scientist determined to change the world with his new teleportation device. Impatient to test the machines true capabilities he decides to run himself through the machine, but mistakingly does so with a common house fly trapped in the pod with him.
