TW/Tags: Toxic Relationship, Trapped Relationship, Megatron is a toxic partner, implied sex, couple make out sessions, Doubledealer cameo, Megatron truly loves reader, Doubledealer gets his aft handed to him, I believe that’s all.
It’s been a few months once more. Almost a year now since that night. Since then. He Showed you many times to not disobey him even when you don’t realize it over the days. Eventually you became more “ reluctant” to his advances.
You were just waiting until you were finally with sparkling to at least get a break.
When you woke up in your berth. You noticed Megatron wasn’t recharging next to you. Megatron was sitting on the berth, his back towards you as he looked down. You’ve noticed he does this at times mostly at night as he gets flashbacks of that very day.
The “betrayal” of Optimus Prime. And the many things he went through before finding out his life was a lie.
You soon sat up without much thought. Once you fully sat up. His helm lifted up. No longer hanging down as his optics wondered a bit. Still not facing you. “Sweetspark.”
His voice is deep as always but with tiredness tinted in.
”Come…..sit on my lap. I wish to hold you before our day starts..” His voice still makes you jump. You can’t really say no. Now can you? And so you got up next to him and moved to where you’re on his lap.
Sitting on one of his thighs as his arm and cervo soon moves around your waist. You didn’t notice until now that his other cervo was holding a data pad.
He’d keep looking at it and groaned as he closed his optics. “I have to meet this mercenary named..”Doubledealer”…..after my time ruling and making a name for myself. He wants to “team up”..Psh.”
He then tossed the data pad at the foot of the berth. Rests rests his cervo ontop of your thigh.
”He really thinks I would want to have a truce with some mercenary. What an old fool.”
You stays quiet. Only looking down at your cervos on your lap as he spoke, not daring to say a word to tick him off more.
“I guess I have a meeting today. He held the bridge of his nose as he sighed and his now red optics looked down at you. You looked at the floor waiting to hear what he’ll say next.
His cervo now holds your chin, lifting your helm to look at him. “Maybe it‘ll be alright if you’re with me. Every powerful man has a partner he adores. Heh…..Megatronus did with Solus.”
He then kissed your forhelm and sighed.
His optics closed as the arm around your waist moved. His cervo going to your panel, gently cupping it. I do have the privilege of having a lovely bot in my arms. On instinct your cervo gently held his arm with the cervo against your panel.
He chucked, his dermas going to yours. Giving you a gentle kiss as he closed his optics. Whispering I love yous between them. You returned the kiss.
Soon pressing his glossa against your dermas asking for access….
You accepted…
And so a make out session commenced. Your cervos on the side and back of his helm as his own rested on your lower back and waist. You’d both continue and hold onto each other.
The only thing heard in the quiet room is your kisses and small moans.
But this didn’t last long.
The moment was actually….peaceful. But then of course. He gets a comm from Soundwave. Needing him in the throne room.
He had to pull away. His cervo moving from your chin and answered the call.
“Alright we’ll be there.” The call ends and hearing that you got up. He didn’t seem to mind as he stood up and started walking to the throne room. You stayed close behind.
As you both walked you noticed how dark the back of the throne was. He continued to walk and you see a bunch of bots in the center of the room.
A bot standing in front of them full of confidence. He must be Doubledealer. Soundwave was waiting in the dark. The three of your optics lights being your only source of bright lights. Soundwave passed Megatron some data pads.
After he looked over them a few times he chuckled. Then gives them to you.
”When I snap my fingers you pass them to me in order. Understood? Oh and stay behind the throne to catch them by surprise. They won't expect me to be noticing them. Understood?”
He whispered to you. As he stared down at you. Your face covered in the red light of his optics as you nodded. He then gave his grim.
Almost soft smile as he stand straighter and walks from behind the throne as he spoke.
“Doubledealer. You sure are brave to come aboard my ship….”
He then sits in his throne as Doubledealer then spoke. Doubledealer having a grin on his dermas. You stayed behind the throne as he ordered. The conversation lasted for what seemed like an hour. That’s when you hear his snap.
Soon you walk out from behind the throne. Holding the data pads professionally. Soon putting one in Megatrons cervo that he had out for the data pad. You stay next to him holding the other data pads as you wait for him to need another.
You tried to pay no mind as Doubledealer and a few of his mechs stared at you as Megatron spoke.
”I’ve read that in many parts of the city and so forth. While I am intrigued…..why should I trust some mech like you?…..”
the two continue to talk for a while longer as you stay there. Megatron taking data pad and data pad reading over them once more.
Doubledealer continues to speak. Sounding confident and snarky at times. You only continued to look down and kept your cervos together. Before you knew it Megatron was angry…Really angry.
Then throwing the data pads to the grown and stand up as his voice roared at the bots. You see that they were a bit startled. You watched him as he took a step down the stairs toawrds the floor. From his throne.
He continues to speak. His voice still roaring as the others back up a bit. You only watch still next to the throne as he continues.
Putting his hands behind his back as Doubledealer tried to speak for himself and the others in his team.
”Not only are you disrespecting me on my ship! You also disrespected my hospitality of even excepting you on my ship! Giving you energon.
And what do you do?! Complain and mock me for my youth and worst of all!” He picked up Doubledealer by the collar of his chest with an iron grip. Causing him to grab at Megatrons arm with his cervo. The other mechs with him watching in fright and horror.
“Hey! Hey! Wait!”
”You….keep making eyes at my Partner!!!”
He then throws him into the ground. You were surprised as well. Soundwave staying close by to watch over you. Megatron continues to yell before kicking the bot further towards his comrades.
After a moment of silence as Doubledealer try’s to stand up. Megatron makes his way to the throne and grabbed your cervo taking you with him.
As he sat down, he placed you on his thigh once more. Both of your leg between his as his cervo keeps you close resting on your thigh. His other on the arm of the throne. You know what he wanted as he spoke. So before Doubledealer and the others looked at him as he spoke.
You rested your cervo on his chest and the other around his neck. The cervo resting on his shoulder. You looked at them as Megatron continues to speak.
As Doubledealer stood up Megatron only continued to talk down to the bot. That’s until Doubledealer spoke and megatrons hold on you only gripped more tightly on you.
Your chest close to his face as Doubledealer spoke.
After the two spoke Megatron chuckled. Doubledealer said something that really pleased him and Megatron soon spoke as his cervo gently held one of yours.
”I suppose I’ve been too hasty. I suppose you can help us with my cause. But if you so think of trying to disrespect me once more. I’ll have my guards be sure to teach you and your little minions a lesson.” That last sentence is more of a threat as his voice grew a bit deeper there.
He’d then kiss the back of your cervo as his optics closed while Doubledealer stuttered as he spoke.
“Now leave…….Everyone!” Doubledealer, his team, and the other decepticons soon leave the room. Megatrons cervos still holding you as everyone leaves. Once the room is empty you felt his dermas pressed on your chest.
”…..I hope I didn’t scare you too badly sweetspark….” He places another kiss on your neck.
He’d move the cervo once holding yours to your panel. “I’d have to learn to be a bit more….patient? Though I’m sure I’ve been doing that for long enough before…” You stay silent for a moment. “Megatron when I wished to join-”
“You are just a Conjunx, or have you forgotten?”
You soon felt a chill in your body. His red optics burning into yours as he stared at you. You slowly shook your head. “No…Megatron.” You said in a whisper.
“What was that?” He asked.
“N…no Seeetspark..”
He let out a sigh. Gently leaning his helm down and pressing his dermas against yours. You returning it as one of your cervos rests on his chest once more. You two continue this as as he moves your hips in front of his.
Your knees on both side of his hips as he pulled your frame against his. Little did you two know. A certain bot….the leader with optics on you before….Luckily for him…
Megatron doesn’t notice this time.
Ugh Brian Tyree Henry what is your voice doing to me !!!???😩
Y’all have been asking for this. I hope this fordilled your hunger for some more Megatron angst and toxic relationship with reader. Haha.
As always I hope you all enjoyed this and a repost is always appreciated. And like with the last part be sure to ask either through comments or messages for a next part if you guys want one. I am full of ideas that I will continue to serve for fellow fans of transformers. If you guys want this to also get more “Intimate” in a “certain way.” Just let me know. Okay so I gave way more thought to the Elder Faerie villain AU and HOLY SHIT I AM C O O K I N G.
Okay so, the witches baked the first 5 cookies, however they soon realized their tasty snacks became a little too integral to their desert world. So, they made a 6th cookie, Elder Faerie Cookie. One who was told his purpose from the get go. "Hold the 5 soul jams so we can enjoy our baked goods, and you won't crumble."
Elder Faerie took his task great fully, amassing his own kingdom, made of the witches own silverware and cutlery. One by one the 5 Virtues fell to his serated knife blade. And one by one their soul jams became his own. His soul jam of Passion embedded on his shield, his soul jam of resolution embedded in his sword, his soul jam of truth on his helm, his soul jam of freedom embedded in his chest plate, and his soul jam of Abundance was on his back squarely between his wings. Life was great, so much power he could do whatever the hell he wanted with.
But one by one, the soul jams vanished.
His soul jam of Truth went to the Vanilla Kingdom
His soul jam of Passion went to the Hollyberry Kingdom
His soul jam of Resolution went to the Dark Cacao kingdom
His soul jam of Abundance went to the Golden Cheese Kingdom.
And his Soul Jam of Freedom went to the Vanilla Kingdom as well but too a different cookie.
And he was not happy about this arrangement, he wanted his power back where it rightfully belonged.
Well his prayers were answered, when the soul jam of Freedom found its way home. In the form of White Lily Cookie. His kingdom was quick to adore the shy soul jam holder. She spoke of wanting to find the reason for cookies existing.
So maybe Elder Faerie slipped a book about the Witches Banquet into the Faerie Library. And maybe he followed behind White Lily as she ventured to the Banquet Hall. And maybe he watched her stumble over the edge of the table to the bowl of Ultimate Dough. He grabbed her arm, and as she was going to thank him, he pried the soul jam out of her Lily Staff, and let her go.
He listened to her screams as she fell, all while he turned and walked away with his prize. Placing back in his chest plate where it once was.

"Blades? Blades, are you okay?"
"K-Keep the humans back, Heatwave...! I-I don't want to hurt them...!"
Blades turned his head a bit more, the maniacal look faded to fear and pain, but his right optic had gone almost completely dark.
"What's happening?"
"S-Spirit...! N-Need to keep him... Hurts...!"
"Spirit?"
Boulder took a step towards his little brother, "You mean... There's someone else in your head?"
Blades barely managed to nod, tears welling in his optics and spilling onto the grass. "A-And I don't... I need to get where he can't...! I have to-"
The air began to swirl, lifting leaves and dust from the asphalt.
"G-GO! NOW!"
Boulder scooped Dani up from the ground, continuing to step back towards the safety of distance as the copter curled up in pain, his frame shaking and creaking loudly.
"I won't... Let you get the upper hand...!"
The voice that pounded in his helm was deep and raspy.
"Just do what I tell you, Autobot, and your little human pets will be left alone...!"

What phantasmagoria is this? - The Unquiet Dead, 2005

There is an element of fun to be derived for anoraks such as ourselves in exercises of comparison and contrast. One such game I have been musing upon lately relates specifically to Doctor Who writers of the original and revived series. For example, Steven Moffat is the modern Robert Holmes, Russell T Davies something more like a Terrance Dicks and Mark Gatiss, the subject of today's discussion, is perhaps more akin to a Bob Baker and Dave Martin. To a certain kind of fan, this might sound incredibly derisive and, to an extent, it is but it is worth noting that the original series' Bristol Boys were hardly hacks or even especially poor writers. Between the two of them, as a partnership or otherwise, no less than nine stories were broadcast in their names over eight years and every single one of them is bristling with creativity and energy. If anything, the downfall of Baker and Martin was that they brought too many ideas to a Doctor Who script. But despite really nobody pointing to any one of their serials and crying "Yes, that one's my favourite", it would be ludicrous to suggest their work left little impact with iconography of Axons, the Mutts, K-9 and Sarah Jane's Andy Pandy costume being etched into the minds of audiences for years to come.
And Gatiss is much the same. Contributing just as many stories over a twelve year period as well as appearing in front of the camera and helming one of the show's finest spin-off ventures, his legacy is arguably even harder to ignore. True as it is that he was never awarded tasks as monumental as The Three Doctors or The Hand of Fear nor creating something as iconic as K-9, Gatiss' unwavering position as the Moff's reliable partner ensured his mark on the series would be left no matter what he was writing and, even then, what he was writing did offer up its fair share of iconic moments. Like the kids who grew up with the Bristol Boys, you'd be hard pressed to find a fan my age who was not unnerved by the peg dolls, introduced to the Ice Warriors or able to recreate the exact cadence of Maureen Lipman's "HUNNNGRYYYYYYYY" at a moment's notice. Hell, they probably even learnt who Winston Churchill was thanks to him. Yet, the comparison still is not flattering. At the end of the day, I am celebrating Mark Gatiss for being a competent writer during two eras of Doctor Who where the overall production was some of the best it has ever been at every level.
With this in mind, perhaps the most fascinating aspect of Gatiss' legacy is the one he was never allowed to have – the showrunner. Gatiss pitched a complete reboot of the series with G*reth R*berts and Cl*yton H*ckman but obviously lost out to Davies and, it has to be said, the prospect of even one full season of stories that are about as strong as Empress of Mars and The Shakespeare Code is hard to get excited about. There were some potentially interesting aspects such as the Doctor being introduced as an antique shop owner, the continuation of the serial format and Derek Jacobi as the Doctor. All of these things could have made for something entertaining to watch.
But reflecting on this pitch gets us to the biggest problems with Mark Gatiss as a Doctor Who writer and, arguably, the same things that made him the perfect co-writer for Sherlock; he is an old-fashioned, conservative writer and a dreadful romantic for all things nostalgia. His scripts are like the TV equivalent of an interactive museum exhibit that passionately recreates bygone eras. Sometimes this comes good, sometimes it does not but they are qualities that make it hardly surprising that Russell T Davies found him the perfect person to pen the very first historical revived Doctor Who.
Like practically all of Davies' initial run on the programme, My Name's Dickens... Charles Dickens (as it was originally titled) came about from a brief he hired Gatiss to fill. Davies insisted that the story take place in Cardiff, be set during the Victorian era and feature Charles Dickens in an adventure with charlatan medians. Gatiss' original pitch was entitled The Crippingwell Horror and took place in a hotel for fake medians with the character that would becomes Sneed being an employee who suddenly realises his powers are not a mere act. Interestingly, the original script would have drawn some similarities with The Empty Child two-parter with the character that became Gwyneth being haunted by the ghost of her recently deceased brother. Across the various drafts and at the production team's behest, the script became a less and less grim affair with a healthy injection of humour and self-awareness. The concept of the Gelth, however, was present across all versions with Gatiss taking inspiration from a childhood nightmare for the image of the possessed Mrs. Pearce.
In the context of its home season, The Unquiet Dead is perfectly slotted. The third story (and episode) of the season, it follows The End of the World with something completely different. It shows the full breadth of the programmes basic possibilities across three weeks and sets the template for the three modes Doctor Who will continue to alternate between and subvert until the present day. This was probably disappointing for some longterm fans as it does lay down a fundamentally different foundation to the 1963 season. In Verity Lambert's first three stories, Doctor Who was a survivalist drama that oscillated between educational historical settings, futuristic political allegories and surrealist horror flavours. Davies' Doctor Who was a soap opera that shifted between satires of contemporary England, futuristic camp absurdities and pastiches of revered literature. Neither of these is more valid but the distinction is essential to understanding how British television had changed over forty years and, indeed, the kind of fans that each version of the programme has continued to garner.
It is also important in understanding what The Unquiet Dead is actually accomplishing as it is essentially intending to fulfil a dual function. The first, as we have established, is to introduce a new audience to the historical Doctor Who but the second, and arguably harder, is to reintroduce fans to the historical Doctor Who. The way it goes about these things is the same; it turns to pastiche. For new audiences, the cultural context of Charles Dickens' writing and his literary depiction of the Victorian era is heavily leaned upon as a shorthand for establishing the world and characters of Gatiss' story. Leaning on tropes and cultural signifiers is an essential aspect of streamlining for the forty-five minute format and really the only choice for a show as fast paced as Doctor Who set out to be. It's a very savvy choice and, to be fair, not an entirely new one since it is essentially something David Whittaker was employing as far back as The Crusade. However, Whitaker never had to contend with the second aspect of this that works which is making the story equal parts a pastiche of the Doctor Who historical arguably a literary style in its own right in 2005. Henceforth, The Unquiet Dead would be just as the general audiences remembered and expected it to be; famous figures from history, gothic horror tones and colourful and exaggerated period stereotypes.
The latter of these two examples, of course, pertain almost exclusively to the mid-'70s period which, fair enough, was when Doctor Who was at its peak of general audience popularity (and even then it's pretty much exclusively Talons of Weng-Chiang we are referring to). As for the first, that practice was pretty much abandoned after The Crusades. No, this is not a genuine Doctor Who historical anymore than this is a genuine recreation of Victorian Cardiff. Rather, it is a streamlined and romanticised version and the one that Gatiss is most fond of recreating (and he would several times after this, even in Sherlock). Authentic to real history and Doctor Who or not, The Unquiet Dead set the precedent for practically every historical episode moving forward with every season (save for exclusively series seven) uniting its main cast with a celebrity historical figure for a heightened romp around some bygone literary tropes.
The more attentive reader would likely have noticed by now that I have been avoiding actually talking about The Unquiet Dead itself for some time now. There is a good reason for this which is simply that, besides the context surrounding it, there is very little to actually say. Even what I have is mostly just production background and reiterating points El Sandifer made years ago now (and more eloquently than me at that). I promised an analysis of the episode so let's just bite the bullet and get on with it. As I have already suggested, there is plenty to like about The Unquiet Dead that makes it hard to write off as some wholly disposable runaround. Being so obviously in the mould of the original show, more so than its predecessors and really any other episode of the first season, there is a simplicity to the affair that I find works to its advantage. There are some mature but simply laid out themes of spirituality versus science that come together rather deftly in a climax that hinges on children realising that an open-mind and attentive nature can allow for new discoveries and broader horizons. The constant reoccurrence of gas as a thematic symbol is effective and easy for children to spot. It provides a coherent, visual link between the Victorian era and the modern day, the old world hurtling into a new age.
Dickens himself is key to conveying these themes as well which is impressive considering that Gatiss was reluctant to include him in his story in the first place. Dickens is portrayed marvellously by Simon Callow, an expert on the author with prior experience playing the character and recreating his public readings. Callow was adamant that for him to sign on, the script would have to be of a sufficiently high quality. Allegedly, his initial reaction to the news that the author would be part of a Doctor Who was disappointment, feeling that fiction often did an injustice to the man. Thankfully, he was very much won over by the material and brought, not only the best performance of anybody in the episode but, some serious credibility to a programme that needed it. Simon Callow does not just sign on for any old slop and why should he when he brings such gravitas and grandeur in his characterisation of Dickens? Callow single-handedly elevates the already solid material to make the part simply superb. Like all the great character actors, and like this episode's approach to history, he may not be one-to-one accurate to Dickens as he was in real history but he embodies his spirit and essence of the author as he is remembered by us today.
So Dickens becomes the heart of the narrative, somewhat inevitably given the mythic status he holds in British literary canon. While Rose is still serving as an audience surrogate in the sense that hers are the eyes with which we view the past (more on that later), it is Dickens who serves a more traditional protagonist role to no small extent. If we consider the Doctor and Rose as analogous for Doctor Who as a series and the Gwyneth/Sneed double-act as our vessels for historical pastiche, Dickens falls in between as the baffled and wry viewer of events who understands the rules of period costume dramas and is being introduced to the weirdness of a Doctor Who story. All of the characters are awarded strong moments but only Dickens receives a full-blown opportunity for change and it is he who actually saves the day (with a healthy dose of real-world science for the kiddos at that). Dickens is the narrow-minded know-it-all whose beliefs are challenged by exposure to a new facet of his world and this, on the surface, is an extremely obvious direction to go. In the absence of a full-blown special, The Unquiet Dead is honorarily regarded by some fans to be the Ninth Doctor's Christmas episode and the allusions to Dickens' most renowned work in that arena are anything but subtle. The door-knocker is a cute touch and offering Dickens his own Scrooge arc, of a sort, works well enough however on-the-nose it is but going so far as to quote the book, not only several times but, as his final line is a level of overtness that I could have done without.
What is more interesting to talk about is Dickens' role in a metafictional sense. Like every story of the first series, The Unquiet Dead is drenched in metatextuality, in this case responding directly to its prior television version. Dickens is the original series of Doctor Who; a beloved icon that still has many fans that has grown stale, burnt its bridges yet continues to go on and on "the same old show... [p]erhaps I've thought everything I'll ever think". Yet, Dickens' worldview is challenged and his morale reinvigorated as the new show, the Doctor and Rose, enter the scene and disrupt his entire understanding. Doctor Who is more than capable of continuing in a new form for a modern world but its older form, the one Dickens embodies, cannot continue alongside it. Zooming out to a broader lens, we can see an even cheekier read where Dickens is symbolic of an entire storytelling approach for science-fantasy and drama that is reinvigorated by the potential of what Doctor Who could be.
Despite Dickens taking over the narrative, the medium aspect was obviously not abandoned and the bridge between the two worlds in this story is not Dickens but literally and figuratively embodied through Gwyneth, played very charmingly by Eve Myles. Gwyneth is the core character embodying the spirituality aspect of the story, essentially serving as the opposite for Dickens. The latter refuses to accept the Gelth exist because they do not fit the facts of his worldview while Gwyneth accepts them more readily than anyone because the facts presented align with her spiritual beliefs. Gwyneth is a medium, communicating with her “angels”, the Gelth, and ultimately understands both conflicting parties’, the Doctor and Rose's, ideologies but refuses both and makes her own choice to help the Gelth, regardless of what others think and makes her own choice to destroy them be sure it is what she believes to be right.
Besides it being a good choice formally to air this episode in the third slots, The Unquiet Dead also lees back an appropriately further layer to the Doctor's character, challenging the audience's morality without ever making him non-empathetic. Plagued by guilt over the consequences of the Time War, still something that we know nothing about beyond the fact that it wiped out there Time Lords, the Doctor offers the Gelth the opportunity to roam freely amongst the bodies of the dead, much to Rose’s disdain. The Doctor's role has little precedent in the televised show, clearly suggesting that his mistake comes from an overwhelming and misplaced emotional response. The Doctor projects his guilt onto a situation that takes advantage of that but his moral position is never seriously challenged. Rose takes a more conservative position which stems naturally from the best scene in the episode where she and Gwen are conversing about their respective upbringings. The scene overtly positions Rose as the educated, condescending lady of privilege which is a delightfully intelligent role to cast her in given her introduction in Rose explicitly establishing the opposite. Rose thinks she knows better than Gwyneth because she thinks she is smarter than her. It could have been a disastrous move and it is impressive that it never paints her in an entirely unlikable light. Importantly too, this scene is written by Russell as a late addition to extend the runtime.
Everything in the story up until here is working but the climax is ultimately where it kind of breaks down and never recovers. The story needs the Doctor to be right for the arc and theme of enlightenment and indulging other perspectives to broaden your own to actually work but it also needs to have an exciting third act with monsters and life or dearth stakes. So, the Gelth are just irredeemably bad beings. As Sandifer exposes in her own essay, this story is infamously criticised for xenophobic undertones regarding the Gelth and she breaks the entire argument down incredibly well. My only addition to that critique is that I think it is barely a matter of conjecture to say that this reading was unintended given Russell's insistence upon recreating the 1980 moment from Pyramids of Mars. The scene was, mercifully, cut but the intention was to explicitly depict a present-day Earth that has been invaded by the Gelth which would have more than doubled-down on their position as irredeemable monsters.
This is not a story about immigration, it is not Flip-Flop, and Rose is never painted as morally correct for insisting that their cohabiting the Earth is wrong. The focus of the conflict is on the whys of their choices, not the what. The Doctor is perhaps the most enlightened, for lack of a better word, of the cast but his emotions override his judgement and he allows the Gelth a way to invade while Gwyneth has an unwavering belief in her angels and the blind faith gets her killed. Dickens is only able to save the day once he accepts that his life has been fundamentally changed which leaves Rose as the one character whose development is somewhat confused. Rose thinks herself superior to Gwyneth due to her relative education and life experience but is shamed by her for assuming she can make decisions on her behalf. The result of this is... nothing really. Rose just sympathises with Gwyneth and is as moved by her death as her two surviving companions and that is about all here is to it. The sombre tragedy of the scene following Gwyneth's death ("She saved the world. A servant girl. No one will ever know.") is staged like a story that is fundamentally about class but The Unquiet Dead just is not. It's not that it doesn't come up from scene to scene but the theme is not a driving force of the story until it very suddenly and awkwardly is.
The Unquiet Dead is a good episode of Doctor Who with a great sense of atmosphere and tonal consistency but is more than a little shy of greatness. The production quality is excellent, the corpses and wonderfully creepy, there are great performances from the whole cast and the only real holes in the production are the lack of ambition in direction and editing (it is cut very slowly) and the surprising lack of score from Murray Gold that is something I would never criticise a story with his name attached for otherwise. The final script here is something much messier than the rest of the production and favours individual moments over a cohesive bigger picture. It is entertaining, clever and the right story to be airing three weeks into the show's run but becomes, nonetheless, somewhat more and more insubstantial on repeat viewings. It is a solid episode of a promising programme that likely needed at least one more draft to tease out its most interesting ideas. And maybe tackle that inadvertently problematic bit. In other words, the consummate Gatiss. Start as you mean to go on, I suppose.

It’s been a few months now….After some time since returning the other high guards. Even the main trio haven’t really said anything to you. You weren’t allowed in the meeting rooms of the new ship they were able to find. Your only choice to walk around without Megatrons supervision was in your shared berth room. Along with the throne room. You both have already bonded that night once reunited. It wasn’t what you dreamed your first time with him would be. And you did have a few dents. But you had a plan. You couldn’t stop now…..even if his bond with you was draining you every day.
Though he always kept you next to him. You have many times tried to find work around the ship, even asking Megatron if you can work. Even if it’s under another supervision. But….well that never goes well.
He always shuts that down and it always leads to him yelling at you and making you stay in your shared berth room.
Every night you made sure to pretend to be asleep. His attempts to lay always happen every few nights. But he doesn’t always get his way when he sees you’re already recharging.
One night when returning from an exhausted day of training. You were already in the berth and was laying on your side. Your back to the door. You kept your optics closed as you pretended to sleep. Your bond in your spark is calm so he wouldn’t suspect anything. As he got closer he sat on the berth. His weight can be felt as he slowly laid down….He moves closer.
His body against yours as he uses his arm to support himself as the other wraps over yours on top of your stomach. His dermas pressing on the side of your neck setting a few gentle kisses.
His panel against your aft as his kisses continue as his kisses go to your shoulder. You let out a small groan. Trying to give him the idea you’re asleep now. He continues as he whispers “I love You” to your audio sensor. You know it’s D says this. He gently woke you up. His cervo gently moved you by your waist as he spoke your name. You realized you don’t have a choice.
You let out a ‘Hm?’ And slowly opened his optics. He then placed his cervo on your stomach gently turning you to look towards him as she stared down at you. “You know I haven’t been able to have you in the arms in a while….Are you avoiding me?” He leans his helm low as his dermas presses to yours. Giving you a gentle kiss.
Once he pulled away, you spoke. “You drain me every day with your constant need for the cause. What do you expect. I’m exhausted.” You turned away once more. You really were in a bad mood.
He growled and pulled your back against the bed and got on top of you. You glared up at him as you waited. To hear what he wants to say. He was on top of you as he stared Down at you. His frown still there. He then moved your legs around his waist as his upper body leans down to you. “You are so damn draining. I am your sparkmate. We are in this together. Isn't that why you came back?” You stayed silent and looked away.
Your optics were almost about water again but you were able to remain strong.
You can feel his panel press against yours. One of his cervos grabbing your jaw to make you look at him. “Why don’t you be a good bot and please your sparkmate hm?” His dermas connect with yours as you pressed your cervos against his chest. His other cervo trying to open your panel.
You never returned the kiss and stopped his cervo at your panel. He pulled away from the kiss with a growl as he glared down at you.
“I am not laying with you tonight! I. Am. Drained! Take care of yourself if you’re that despera-.” You spat bringing your head up a bit closer to his as you spoke. Until you felt a slap on the side of your helm. You looked at him, your helm still turned to the side as he stared down at you, his cervo still in the air. He almost seemed surprised too.
“I…Y/N I didn’t…” you lifted your legs together and kicked him off. You’d then get up running to the door “Don’t follow me!” You ran off as he went after you “Y/N get back here!”
Your escape didn’t last long. You didn’t know much of the ship's halls and were soon cornered. Megatron was able to get you and bring you back to the berth room. You tried your best to fight against his hold but after the door closed he pinned you against the door. “Stop Fighting Me! If you’d just listen then you wouldn’t get hurt!”
You turned your helm away. Your optics closed as the tears came down your cheeks. He saw. His optics turned orange for a moment as he looked down at you. He was mad. And you kept trying to get away from him. You know this will become. A constant thing. And convincing him will even take longer by this point. Your optics remained closed. He stared down at you and when his optics narrowed at you. He let out a sigh. His forhelm on your shoulder as your helm remains turned away. He closed his optics as he let go of your arm. You were shaking so much. He then leaned back so there’s a few inches of space between you both. He gently held both of your cervos and kissed the back of both of them.
You kept shaking as he rested his dermas against your neck. One of his cervos then goes to your helm. Wiping away the tears as you remained still. “Let’s……go to sleep….” His other cervo still holds one of yours as his other goes to your waist as he leads you to the berth. You finally opened your optics. Only looking down.
As you both made it to the bed. He sat first. He was big enough to almost cover the berth. And laid you next to him. His arm a pillow for your helm as he wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you closer. You didn’t look at him as he spoke “You may wonder around a bit more. But…..it’ll be by my side. I don’t need the other cons trying to take you in with their optics.” His other cervo held yours that was resting against your chest. Bringing it to rest on his own chest. His cervo covered yours as he had a firm grip on yours.
”Good Night.”
You said nothing. He groaned and close his optics. Maybe they’ll behave better, he thought. You though. Really didn’t catch any sleep that night….Not at all……
I hope you all enjoyed part 2. I really enjoyed writing for Megatron in this story and I'm not sure what happened. I just know I wanted to write this for their story. I don’t know if I’ll make a part 3. If anyone wants a part 3 and have an idea for it do let me know through messages. Have a good rest of your day now my lovelies!!

Yo Optimus. How come you wont just put Orion nad Megatron in jail? Or kill them? Both of them kinda suck.

═════════════════
I understand that to an outsider, the situation with Orion Pax and Megatron of Kaon does seem... foolish. However to answer your query, I must first give you some information.
Disregarding my personal connections and your opinionated statement, there are a plethora of reasons why I cannot kill or incarcerate Megatron of Kaon. Firstly, I was offline long enough for Megatron to cement himself into society with his Conjunx. To remove him from his place now would be seen as betrayal to the people and cause uproar amongst former Decepticons. It may not seem like it, but there are hundreds of Decepticon war veterans on Cybertron. They largely keep their helms down due to discrimination that I am even now working to resolve. However if angered, they will rise up again and restart the war. We █re █oo we█k from the war and we do not have nearly enough soldiers to end things quickly. A new war would be long, drawn out, and doo█ ou█ pl█net all over again unless I personally wipe out every last remaining Decepticon. As you might expect, I cannot do that.
With that said, I also cannot imprison Orion for the very same reason. Putting him behind bars or ending his life would bring the wrath of Megatron down on my helm... and that I do █o█ █elieve █ wo█l█ █u█v█ve, at least not without increadible civilian casualties. Megatron is touched by Unicron just as I am by Primus. If he lost his Conjunx, I do not doubt that he would put his entire spark into my destruction. Even my death would not sate him, and that is what I fear most. He would then target my beloved, whom I know he hates a great deal. And even then he would not stop and likely move onto ending the lives of my friends, compatriots, and inner circle. Not to mention I do not believe he would even allow Bumblebee or Smokescreen to escape unscathed. I dare not even consider in much depth who else Megatron would eliminate in his rage if he killed me first.
Aside from those reasons, Orion Pax and Megatron of Kaon posses unique skills, connections, and knowledge that is greatly required at the present moment. Orion for one has information thought lost with the destruction of the archives. To kill or remove him would leave millennia of still unprocessed data to be lost forever. In Megatron's case, he is a living relic of a bygone era. He has information and knows what a corrupt government looks like. If he dies, I will no longer have his knowledge either. Both are vital to Cybertron so early in its restoration. Perhaps after a few millennia one or both of them 'vanishing' would be acceptable, but so early is simply asking for suffering to follow.
Then there is the more... personal reason that I would never dare end one or both. Megatron is someone important to me. I could not tell you why in completeness. But he gave me a sense of control during the war, a momentary break from that chains that held me. I do not understand it myself, but he reminds me of something I can no longer place. His face is familiar to me, and not because of Orion's memory. I... recall someone similar, darker and more powerful, but alike to him. For that reason, I cannot help but wish for Megatron to linger.
But for Orion the reason is more... serious. It is not common knowledge, and in fact I did not really understand myself until I woke in this new frame and times passed by.
Orion is w█a█ █s keepi█g me █l█ve, to a degree at any rate. My connection to him keeps my spark ablaze in this mortal realm and without him, I would slowly weaken if not perish. It would likely take millions of years so long as I do not push myself, but without him here in the mortal realm to bind me, my spark would slowly lose its connection to my frame and putter out. The Matrix can only do so much to keep me here. Why do you think the Primes have hosts at all? We require a binding agent. It is akin to when one attempts to force to magnets to come together the way they are not intended to. It requires extreme effort and outside forces to ensure it succeeds. Orion is that outside force. He binds me to this mortal frame. His death would end in nothing but my own end. Imprisonment would also likely lead to far more... p█i█ for me as well.
I hope that answers your question.

Sorry I made you sad. Here's something to balance it out:
Try thinking about Jaune escaping the Ever After and getting to see the skies of Remnant again for the first time in years.
Try thinking of Jaune, astride Juniper and wearing his helm, appearing to the refugees in Vacuo like a hero out of legend, asking if they were okay and needed help without thinking about it, because that's what he does.
Try thinking about their breaths being taken away, because a Legend came to save them.
Try thinking about Nora and Ren recognizing Jaune anywhere, and after the struggle to get the portal to l e t t h e m g o b a c k, tackling him in a hug and letting him know he's loved, no matter what he looks like.
Try thinking of him calling Saffron and Terra and seeing his sisters and nephew for the first time in years, and his sister saying "The Rusted Knight has always been a family favorite" through tears, while telling her son his uncle is a hero.
Try thinking of Ozma telling Jaune "one failure to a other, you've done so well", acknowledging the strength to KEEP TRYING that Jaune embodies.
Try thinking of Jaune, listless and angry and tired, reading an old book again and right there, whether it was written by Lewis or a repentant Alyx, there's a note at the end "Thank you JA"
Try thinking of an army of Huntsmen preparing to fight Salem, and they're all in good spirits. Because they have the Rusted Knight on their side, and they get to fight alongside their hero this day.
Try thinking of how much everyone will love Juniper; from Oscar, to Nora, to even Whitley and Willow getting to pet the fluffy Jackalope and how adorable it might be.
Try thinking of Jaune talking to Winter and her telling him that she has Penny's last thoughts in her head and all she could hear was "thank you, I'm so sorry" and Jaune being comforted like he deserves after so long.
Try to think of Jaune going home, and realizing that in what he perceived as failure, he became the hero he wanted to be.
Try to think of Jaune showering, shaving, and cleaning up, fixing his sword and armor, and gently, reverently picking up the red cloth he's held so dear and tying his hair back once more. "Keep watching over me, partner"
Try to think of how, even if he story is bleak now, there is still so much potential for happiness and love in the future.
Thank you ;-;
I needed this ;-;
