Jun Senoue : Hey, Kenichi Tokoi. I gotta ask you. Do you remember what happened to Fumie Kumatani and Mariko Nanba?
Kenichi Tokoi : I don't know, man. Sometimes we just gotta let things go. She's gone man and she ain't coming back, unlike Mariko Nanba that same goes to her.
Jun Senoue : Oh really? If those two women left the company for something, then why is there a wedding photo of you and her? (Shows a wedding photo of Tokoi and Kumatani at a wedding ceremony) Ah-ha! I knew there was something fishy going on! She didn't leave Sega for you, she left Sega just to marry you! I rest my case!
Tomoya Ohtani : Oh haha! Blame me for the whole marriage thing. I guess you guys are single, and don't have any kids.
Naofumi Hataya : Well, at I still the Chao voice's actor. (Takenobu Whispers into his ear) Oh, right. I also married her. Guess the Chao will have things for the marriage, dumbos!
Sonic : Marriage? No way! Yeah, it's true. We lied and our female composers have been married to you guys, except for Jun Senoue who is single. But I didn't realize that one of the composers are married with Children
Shadow : Fumie Kumatani married to Kenichi Tokoi!? With children!? No...No...[screaming] NNOOOOOOOOOO!!!
75. Jungle Joyride (Night) - Sonic Unleashed (Kenichi Tokoi and SEGA Sound Team) (x) (x)
Doku is the song that sounds a lot like the Splatoon 3 Hero Mode trailer music, but I started listening to all of Hakushi Hasegawa’s catalogue and I loveeeeee their stuff. If you love overstimulating experimental noisy jazzy music, listen to their music. I use it as background music when I study and drive; there’s some really beautiful sounds that happen between the chaos.
I also cannot emphasize how much I love Soul Quality Quartet. I revisit their stuff a lot ever since I found them in 2019. Almaz Yebito is such a fantastic vocalist that I can’t help but sing along at full volume when I’m in the car. Probably my favorite acid jazz album of all time, I’ve wanted to hunt down a CD or vinyl for the longest time.
From underrated mash-up artist Botanic Sage (again, that's the "Fingers In His Ass Sunday" guy) comes this incredible mix of Unknown From M.E. and Hip Hop Hooray. Probably some other stuff in there too but I'm too distracted by how much of a fucking banger this is. Seriously, it takes a mediocre tune from a fairly decent if outdated game and combines with a known classic to create a crossfaded 90s hip hop throwback. Go ahead, send the hate mail but I gotta say this: Neil Cicierega, eat your heart out.

I love Sonic, and with the new game coming up Shadow lives in my brain tonight, so I'll post this game sometimes.
I broke my DS lite playing this game, constantly mashing. I know this is a sprite based GBA arena fighter but this game was one of my fighting game gateways.
Anyway, this track rules because it not only sounds like Shadow's theme, but when the sound is remastered to remove the compression, it the synths and beats sound excellent.
I see your playlist also include some remix in Mario & Sonic series. Can you... Gosh there's too many...
Can you analyze reach for the star ver 2 from Rio Olympics?
Hey there! Sure thing, let's dig in!
This is a pretty faithful mix, while being a little more orchestrated than its original. I love the added brass section here! It really shines and adds a lovely bright color. There are even some strings added to the melody in the chorus section, so much that it drowns out the synth lead that permeates through the track. With these additions, it was an interesting choice to pick a synth lead for the first verse. I think it would have been cool if it were brass led! But it still accomplishes its goal: A Reach For The Stars instrumental with just that extra gloss of polish and pizzazz!
