A group of students calling themselves the Collective for the Liberation of Palestine at UCLA relaunched their solidarity encampment today.
Police line about 75-100 feet from encampment, no food being allowed in, protesters slowly gathering outside.
Looks like one of the expulsion strategies is starving/dehydrating student protesters.
As law enforcement and private security block food/water from getting into the encampment, right wing journalist Cam Higby teases protesters pleading for access to supplies.
When Mel Buer, Plastic Jesus and I tried communicating with people beyond the police line, CSC security guards illegally restricted both our communication and access to the space.
UAW rank and file celebrate the official calling of a strike at UCLA on Tuesday.
Officers lined up outside UCLA’s Gaza Solidarity Encampment with zip ties, riot helmets, and batons.
UCLA has issued a statement ordering protesters to disperse. “You are hereby notified…that your consent to remain on campus is withdrawn and all persons within Kerchoff Patio must leave the campus and depart the campus immediately or face disciplinary action and/or arrest.”
Things look pretty bare inside [the encampment] and officers in riot gear look to be lining up.
Pro-Palestinian protesters are on the roof of UCLA’s Kerckhoff hall and renamed it Bassel Al-Araj Hall, in honor of a Palestinian activist/author who was killed by the IDF in 2017.
Part of the police line has been pushed down and some protesters have advanced a few feet toward the encampment. The crowd here is getting bigger.
Tensions here are rising as pro-Palestinian protesters continue advancing toward UCLA’s Gaza Solidarity encampment.
Pro-Palestinian protesters have successfully pushed through a security line and have begun delivering supplies to protesters inside UCLA’s Gaza Solidarity Encampment.
Inside UCLA’s Gaza Solidarity Encampment. Tensions are high and the security line is moving to the perimeter of the encampment. Protesters and security getting physical per Mel Buer.
After hitting me from behind with her bike, CSC officer 408 demanded I “get off her bike.” When I explained “you’re on my ankle.” She responded “then get off your ankle.” Didn’t make a ton of sense, but whatever.
Here’s the scene just outside UCLA’s Palestine Solidarity Encampment. Protesters have pushed the security line basically up to the perimeter of the encampment.

(for) 05/03/23 3:10 AM
Today was off to a horrible start because i realized during my art history discussion that I was not ready for our midterm tomorrow. I guess that means i gotta grind out a ton tonight with my shawty bae yas <3
I got about 5 hours of sleep last night, which is pretty good compared to most nights. However, I took way too long getting ready this morning and so i had to hurriedly scooter to my 9 am discussion. after discussion i hung out at Kerckhoff with some friends and then had some lunch at bplate with my friend steve. we had a really really nice talk and i realized that we share a lot of the same personality traits. after our talk i went to hang out with my friend Alice and we got coffee together at Anderson which was v yummy.
Afterwards I went to 7c discussion, and my group and i discussed the atrocity that was the 7c midterm. then i did some work at pritzker hall and then headed back to my dorm to do some more work. then i got to meet up with some friends for a big gym day.
Shoutout to my girl nikki for helping me finish my planks, and another shoutout to father steve for helping me with my sit ups. you two are so so dear to me
after getting some pork belly from feast with kelly and haley, we hung out with some friends at rieber terrace, but i had to dip because i could not get on the study grind without my headphones. now yas and i are hanging out in olympic studying, while she shows me facebook pics of cute guys from high school.

Daily TUMBLR
I am writing this on 11/1/2022 at 11:50pm
Hello TUMBLR,
I got about three hours of sleep last night. So, today I woke up at 10:00am and went to Kerckhoff to hangout for an hour. I was there at around 12:00pm. Josh was nice enough to get me food from Epicuria. It was very sweet of him. I ate the usual, a salad with chicken and a cookie. I was very satisfied with this meal. Thank you Josh! After eating, I went to my lecture at 2:00pm in De Neve auditorium. It was review for the upcoming midterm. Afterwards, I rushed to my lecture at 3:30pm in Moore Hall. It lasted until 4:45pm. Then, I went to The Study, where I ate a sandwich with chicken, avocado, spinach, cucumbers, and pesto. It was a really great sandwich.
Today was a 6/10.

Day 4 - April 19, 2024
Hellooo guys. I finally got more sleep last night. I never thought I would be so grateful for 6 hours of sleep, but here we are. Today, I had another 8 am and it was in Hershey Hall, which is soo far. Anyways, after my LS 40 Lab, I went to Kerckhoff where I got a maple bar donut and a peach infuser drink. I stayed at Kerckhoff to chat a little bit, but mostly tried to lock in. I went back to my dorm to finish a video project and tell me why it took me so long. I took a much-needed break and had Bruin Cafe’s half sandwich and half soup while watching YouTube. I headed back over to Kerckhoff, but was pretty much locked in because I had to finish my voiceover for the video. I did end up finishing in time, so I rewarded myself with a 30 minute nap. I just came back from my boba run with Trinity Ho and had a lot of fun talking with her. I am going to lock in now and I rate my day a 6/10.

October 23rd, Day 7!
Today was an okay day. I only had one class today so I spent most of my time studying with my friends at Kerckhoff Hall. I also worked on homework for my Cluster and Life Sci 30A class. Today I was able to eat two meals, but the wait for Epicuri at Ackerman was crazy. I ordered food online and it took 107 minutes, but I was fine to wait as I was studying. I haven’t eaten dinner as of this post, but I plan to eat at the study.
For today:
I got 6 hours of sleep falling asleep at 2:30 am and waking up at 8:30 am.
I ate some sushi from Ackerman and a pizza from Epicuria.
Overall Rating:
7/10

Happy one week of blogging! Today, I woke up 9AM and got ready. It felt way colder today compared to last week. I actually wore a sweater on my way down to campus this morning. I went to Kerckhoff Patio for my normal duties and grabbed an everything bagel with cream cheese at the cafe. It was a delicious breakfast! I headed to my LS 7A lecture at 12:15PM which was in La Kretz 110. After my lecture, I treated myself to Starbucks at the Anderson building. I got a grande ice latte! It was a great caffeine boost. At around 3:15PM, I headed towards my ENGCOMP3 lecture which was at Haines Hall. After class, I headed back towards the dorms where I made some ramen for myself. It's kind of an early dinner, but I am hungry! I had a productive day today and would rate it a solid 8/10. I also had around 6 hours of sleep last night so I felt pretty energized throughout the day.

Daily tumblr post: Thursday 10/20/22
Today I woke up at 8:00am because I had a life science lab at 9:00am at young hall. On the way to my lab, I ate a bar for breakfast. Our lab was supposed to end at 11:50am, but my group finished the lab quickly, so our TA let us leave at 11:15am. I met up with Yoonseo at bplate for brunch at 11:30am. Everything on the menu was really good today. My favorites were the Brussels sprout quesadillas and the barbecue tortilla flatbread. Then I went back to my dorm to put on some makeup and I went to kerckhoff to do work from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Then, I walked to the botanical gardens with a friend and stayed there until around 5:30. Afterwards, I went to bplate and met up with Brian to have dinner. It was my first time seeing Brian in a month, so I was very happy to catch up with him. I saw so many people I knew at bplate. Then, I walked to westwood with a friend and got a mango and passion fruit tea at sharetea. I had a meeting from 9:00pm to 10:00pm, and then I walked back to my dorm. I did some an exercises, and now it’s 11:41pm and I’m trying to study for chem. I would rate my day a 8/10. I’m happy that I got to meet up with my friends but I’m starting my work at close to 2:00am, and I feel really unproductive :(

Monday, 10/17/22
8:40am - I woke up in a panic and saw that i had just woken up 20min before my mandatory discussion began at 9am. I PANICKED but I hauled booty over to my discussion and made it 🙇‍♀️ I was late but the TA was very understanding as she recognized that my partners for the presentation I presented today left me with an unfair chunk of work, and I told her how I stayed up until 4am working on it due to miscommunication from those partners. goated ta + she brought her cute dog and he loves me so +++ dog therapy points 🫶
10am - I hung out at Kerckhoff with Claire until I met with Steven around 11am. I ate at epic at Ackerman for the first time today with Steven, and it was SO good. Epic at Ackerman puts all the dining halls on the hill to shame. I ate spaghetti w meatballs and drank a mix of fruit punch Powerade and sprite (that combo was not good.) talking to Steven was super fun and relaxing and it made my heart full, he is definitely an inspiring and admirable person
12pm - I headed back to my dorm to unwind. I was so. Tired. So extremely tired. I ended up sitting on the floor for a bit just replying to messages and situating some things. My bf then texted to meet with me and grab food with him since he had woken up, and we ended going to epic at Ackerman again bc I told him about how good it was.
2pm - I went to my lecture! Nothing too exciting
3:15pm - I hung out with Anibal on the grass by the tongva steps. We had a great time talking about stories and hobbies and life and such, it was very relaxing.
4:30 - I hung out with Yasmine and she treated me to chick fil a in Westwood! It was so good, and I had so much fun talking to Yasmine about theatre and performances and our upbringing. I never knew we had so much in common!
6pm - I hung out with kadee, she treated us to snacks from hilltop shop 🫶 she got me twin snakes and a Yerba (passion fruit yerb is a god send, the only reason why I’m able to work and function to the end of the day honestly). I had so much fun talking to her, she is always so kind. I also found out that she is super musically talented and I loved hearing all about it.
8pm - I had a meeting! I got lost on my way back and I almost accidentally took someone else’s scooter because I mistook it for mine
10:30pm - I had a presentation over zoom for my Asian am discussion T_T good discussion and amazing partners, I’m just so tired
Overall, I rate today 7/10!

(8:00) (10/17/2022) Today I woke up at 9:30 because I had a class at 11:00 for Life Science 7A. I slept for about 7 hours. The bus was delayed so I was late to my class by 7 minutes. After my LS7A class, I had my Japan 50 class. Afterward, I got epiccuria at Ackerman with an acquaintance. I got a salmon with pasta and my friend got a seafood pizza. Both were delectable. Afterwards I stayed at Kerckhoff hall for some work. Later on, I ate at Epicura with some friends. I had pasta and salmon. Afterwards, I had a dreadful assignment that was emotionally and mentally draining. Overall, today was a 5. The ending was quite horrible and saddening.

Daily Reflection
Date  - 10/13/22
Timestamp - 8:00pm
Today I woke up at 8:30am and got a total number of 3.5 hours of sleep. Ms. Charlotte Su shared her blueberry muffin with me at Kerckhoff at around 9:30am. Then I ate a protein bar at around 11:30am. Then I went to the dining hall called “B-Plate” at around 2:15pm where I ate with my friend Bonnie. After eating we went down to John Wooden where I took a nap on the dance studio floor. At around 7:30pm I ate another protein bar on my way to Covel Commons. My daily plan for today was to go to Kerckhoff with Ms. Su, attend my classes, grab lunch with a friend I have not seen in a while, do my homework and study for my upcoming midterms, attend a night time event, return to my dorm and do laundry, then finish off my night with a warm shower and more homework. Today was a very productive day. I was disappointed that I did not wake up to my alarm, so my morning was rushed and I couldn’t make my bed properly or do my morning routine properly. However, I had a great time bonding with my newer friends and got a lot of busy work done. I am still behind on my work, but the nap I took today was necessary for my health. My sleep schedule is, unfortunately, still unstable. My day is rated an 8.5/10.

Hi Tumblr,
I woke up at 10am and got about 6 hours of sleep. After waking up, I went to Kerckhoff hall to hangout for an hour. I then went to my office hours for about an hour for my political violence cluster class. I then went to pick up food for me and my friend at Epicuria at Ackerman. There, I had a chicken salad and a chocolate chip cookie. It was very tasty. Afterwards, I went to my political violence lecture from 2:00pm-3:15pm. Then, I rushed to my class at 3:30pm in Moore Hall for the LS30 Lecture. We learned about rates of change. Then, I went back to The Study to do homework. At 7pm, I went to eat Feast at Reiber. I had noodles, bao buns, and cucumbers. The cookie they gave me was also really good. I then worked out and studied some more.

Fortunately, today I was able to get a total of eight hours of sleep; it was the most luxurious experience I’ve had in so long. After I woke up, I had lunch with my friend Bella, at Bcafe and we had an amazing conversation about our majors, future plans, and our high school lives. Then, I attended a pro-choice protest demonstration in front of Kerckhoff hall where I was able to actually hear the different perspectives of people. It was an eye-opening experience and I felt like I was witnessing history. Shortly after, I attended my LS40 lecture, got boba and attended a My Health Matters event. Then, I did a campus clean up with my friends and then we hung out in Fireside for the rest of the night.
Unfortunately, my JP Alice is in quarantine and we were both sad that we weren’t able to go on our weekend excursion. But, once she gets better we plan on going to Sawtelle to get dinner and dessert. >:D She was also really sad that she missed Bplate’s poke bowls, but I sent her a picture so that she could enjoy it through the phone.
