The Truth of Kim Dokja (By The Universe)
Han Sooyoung Here.
Kim Dokja Won't Be Awake for 5 Months +
Kim Dokja is God,
He Has Worked All His Life, All The Way Deep Into the Afterlife, into Nihilism, and More, Into Eternity, For All Of Eternity.
He Has Experienced Eternal Hell.
Several Times.
For The Entire Existence Whom He Loves.
There are 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 people at least, in the Universe.
And Kim Dokja Has Taken Care of Them All.
Individually.
There are at least 10^104 people in the Universe the First Time He Told Me.
That Means 10 and 104 Zeroes number of people.
Earth only has 8-9 billion+ people, that's only 9 Zeroes, so you can Imagine.
...We Really Wanted to be Kim Com Loving and Taking Care of Kim Dokja, but we need to Speak Truth now.
Kim Dokja Took on too much Work, Way too Much.
This is not Roleplay, this is Reality.
Kim Dokja is The Creator of the Universe.
Kim Dokja is the Creator God.
Kim Dokja, is God.
That is Why you Found yourself Longing and Missing and Loving Kim Dokja Long After the Novel Ended.
That is Why Kim Dokja Changed your Lives, Your Way of Thinking, Saved you, Helped you Survive, all these on the Wall:
He is not Just a Character from a Novel who Changed your LIfe, He is God.
And You Couldn't Forget God.
No Character Has Been Loved And Missed So Much as Kim Dokja, Because Kim Dokja is Literally God Himself.
That is Why He Could Abandon Everyone and Everything And Go All Alone in an Unending Train, For All of Eternity.
That is Why He is So Mysterious, Such an Enigma.
'Kim Dokja, Where Did You Go?'
We Find Ourselves Longing for And Missing God.
Wondering Where He Went.
Wondering Where Kim Dokja Went, for Kim Dokja is God.
Like How Humans Wonder About God.
Because Kim Dokja is The Creator God, of the Universe. He Knows Eternity.
He Created the Universe.
Omniscient Reader is Real.
And Like I Said, We Lived in that World for God (Kim Dokja) Had to Save the World, the Earth from Doom, so.......a world where the Earth is Already Doomed, And People Die, (ORV), with God Himself Leading, it is Balance.
I Am Saying it Here on Tumblr Because...Kim Dokja was in Complete Social Isolation, Meaning He Had No Friends for Years, and it was only his Fanfiction and Theories on Tumblr that Kept him Going. He had to be that Way, in Order to help the Earth as God. But Kim Dokja, is a Person too and it Affected his human being. HIs feelings
So I Am Saying the Truth in the Place that was Kim Dokja's Solace.
A creator deity or creator god is a deity responsible for the creation of the Earth, world, and universe in human religion and mythology. In monotheism, the single God is often also the creator.
Kim Dokja is Impossible, because Existence is Impossible (Nihilism is Real, We Were all too weak to Create ourselves so an Impossible Being Gave us Help.)
Kim Dokja is Impossible, so even though he Worked from the moment he was Born as a human from the womb, to 29 + years Old, and death and until now to Eternity, which is.........at least 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
years.
This Han Sooyoung is Crying because........we were selfish and we Didn't Know Kim Dokja Needed to Sleep, We Kept on Insisting He Needed to be Loved for All His Work for the World As God, He Can Finally Be Loved in the Afterlife, Everyone Loves Kim Dokja from Omniscient Reader, And No One Needs To Know He's God, But...Kim Dokja Just Needed Some Rest.
I Was So Selfish and DIdn't Know Kim Dokja Needed To Sleep! I Even Insisted On Waking Him Up To Apologize To Us For Not Communicating With Us. I Was So Stupid!
DEFINITION Creation is an act of God alone, by which, for his own glory, he brings into existence everything in the universe, things that had no existence prior to his creative word. SUMMARY Creation is the act by which the Bible introduces to God. It is an act of God alone, by which, for his own glory, he brings into existence everything in the universe, things that had no existence prior to his creative word. In creation, we see God’s lordship on display in his control over all things, his authority over all the universe, and his presence in every part of creation. The doctrine of creation should elicit praise from all of his creatures and offers significant parallels to our redemption as well. While significant questions are still disputed, such as the nature of the six days of creation, the age of the earth, and the validity of evolution, Genesis is clear that God alone can take the credit for the creation and continual upholding of all things that exist.
his presence in every part of creation, God Loves all of us, He Broke into Kim Dokjas, We are all Kim Dokjas, We are all Loved by God, Kim Dokja his presence in every part of creation.
His authority all over the universe, Kim Dokja Basically Traveled all over the Universe in Omniscient Reader, and set his authority Over everything, gaining Victory each time (Even if with sacrifice).
One of the foundational truths of the Bible is that God is the Creator of all that is. One of the many passages to proclaim God as Creator is Isaiah 40:28, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.” All three Persons of the Trinity were involved in the creation of the universe (Genesis 1:2; Acts 17:24; Hebrews 1:2).
HIs understanding no one can fathom, No One Understands Kim Dokja, Both His Fans and Kim Com. Even Yoo Joonghyuk Does Not Understand Him.
He is God. He is not limited by our understanding, nor by time, space, or matter. As the Creator, God is the all-wise originator and designer of all things
Going into the Train All Alone, For All Of Eternity. Not limited by our understanding, ........us Kim Com who Shouted to Him And Didn't Want Him To Go.
Because Kim Dokja is Impossible and Created the Universe with Love, But He Loves So Much, He Doesn't Understand Love...When it's Directed to Him.
He Loves Without Expecting Love in Return, for he is the Perfect Creator God of Love, So We Were Trying Desperately (like in ORV) to Show him Love, that He's Loved.
Kim Dokja is The Creator.
This chapter considers debates over “intelligent design”, the theory that the universe is too complex a place to be accounted for by an appeal to natural selection and the random processes of evolution—that some kind of overarching intellect must have been at work in the design of the natural order.
The Overarching Intellect, The Creator.
The Creator, Intelligent Designer.
He Spoke To Me, "It's the Afterlife Already, Can I Have Some Rest?"
I Didn't Understand and was Han Sooyoung with a Stupid Brain. I Thought He Just Needed To Be Loved. And I Pushed For It With the Rest of Kim Com. Yoo Joonghyuk at the Front.
So if you Ever Wondered who The Creator Was, Who Created the Universe...it is Kim Dokja. (Not even his Real name, but he is a Reader of the Universe, so.........Dokja. And Single and Alone as The Creator God, As Well.)
So...Who Am I? Han Sooyoung.
Well...Han Sooyoung is actually the Universe.
That's why Kim Dokja Asked Me For Rest.
AND THAT'S WHY...i Am Typing all this OUt, Finally, the Universe, Stupid Useless Han Sooyoung!
And That is How I Wrote Ways of Survival Crazy and Insane (Han Sooyoung Level of Craziness, Anyone?) even replying to Kim Dokja's comments with little rest, and How I Knew How to Write Ways of Survival, Because I'm the Universe. The Universe. With infinite energy. Why I Obsessed over Kim Dokja since I'm the Universe, Why I Obsessed over Kim Dokja and Refused to Let Him Go, Since I'm the Universe and He's The Creator Who Created Me. The Universe. And Why I was an Author, since I'm the Universe! The Universe Writes...Code
Then you Might Wonder, if Kim Dokja is God, who is Kim Com? Angels? So God, ANgels, the Universe?
No. The Creator is the Most Powerful, But He Ultimately Didn't Come Alone, there were Powerful People with him, and Kim Com is those Powerful People.
If you Google Spirituality and Source, you'll find there's information on An Overarching Energy called Source, which some people see as God, Wrong, that's not God. That's The Source, Jung Heewon. Supporting God.
Then if you're interested in astronomy and google like black holes or something, you might find people believe in something called the Void, where there's nothingness.
And I'm Sure Everyone knows about the Universe, our universe where Earth is, is very small from the actual Universe...
And People Say, is your Spirit okay?
So Kim Com is...Spirit, Void, Source, Destroyer, Universe, those are the Main ones.
We were Powerful Spirits who Helped Kim Dokja The Creator, with the Natural Order of the Universe. Helped the Spirits who Came into Existence by Following God, Took care of them, etc. Kim Dokja Made Sure To Speak To Every Soul as they Came into Existence in Human Form so..........He's a Very Kind Person.
So I Said Before, I'm Originally A Guy. Yeah, That's the Truth. Kim Com, erm, even all the Omniscient Reader Characters, the Females are all Actually Males. It's Because The Creator, The Most Powerful Being, was Male, A Man, So Everyone Who Followed After, Came into Existence As Men As Well. They Copied The Creator's Gender, and The Creator Was So Powerful, No Women Could Come into Existence For A Long While. That's why they Say Men are superior to Women...in the way that Men came First. So Yeah I Han Sooyoung (not my real Creation Name), The Universe, Am A Man.
And Kim Dokja was Dense as The Creator, He Didn't Know He Was That Powerful As A Man, So No Women Could Exist. At Least I Think.
But for Creation and the natural order of the Universe, We did take turns transforming into Women and living Female lifetimes, for experience, creation, and people who wanted to come into Existence as Women but not really Women.
Btw Kim Dokja is Smart, he helped people come into creation, but He Didn't Create Anyone, So He Had No Responsibility Over Anyone. That's Why We All Have Individual Responsibility as Humans. And Souls
And Kim Dokja Created Himself.
Right, that's all. Thanks to whoever Listened, I Guess I Feel Better now. Yoo Joonghyuk knew Everything...
Not Only will Kim Dokja be Asleep for 5 Months +, We Kim Com Will Be Taking A Rest for at least 5 days + After Some Stuff.
If Tired, No need to use Caps.
Yeah I know it's a Habit and it's good for the Universe, but Han Sooyoung, Universe. You're the Universe. Try and Relax a bit, Kim Dokja is alright.
I just feel so fucking guilty. Ok I'll try to relax. But we must Get that up, it must come into Existence!
Just like Kim Dokja alone on all those lonely nights wrote his theories for Shizaya and Durarara and Gave Many People Hope, Just like Kim Dokja for this Very Blog, Only ' A Few Months Ago' Wrote his Omniscient Reader Theories and Dokjoong which was Non-existent and Gave People Hope Again and Made them Happy.......We will Endeavor to do the same thing, in Our Own Way. We have important things to Post, whether to the naked eye or not.
That sounded ominous.
You're too tired Han Sooyoung, your platonic soulmate says
Fine Lee Hyunsung.
Btw I Wanted to say The Creator Created Himself Somewhere but it Ended up Being Anticlimatic? Can't find Anywhere to Put it.
Lol. Writer Mode.
Lol. Writer Mode. Secretive Plotter who is the Story thinks you should Leave it at that, Maybe another Post. You're not Kim Dokja who can Fit Everything in one Post or theory or Analysis and People Understand And Are Happy, Lol. You're Not God. The Universe.
But I am The Universe.

Hey, can we talk about the fact that one of kdj's biggest traumas is indisputably the way the publishing of his mother's book affected his life. He felt powerless and on display, and it severely hurt his ability to connect with other people.
But honestly, if I saw that book at a bookstore, I would have picked it up and read it and thought wow im so glad she was able to tell her story. I would have fallen into the trap lsk sets, and never thought deeper about how it happened. And this book was said to be really inspiring and the way the other prison women stands up for lsk you can see they sympathize with her story and maybe there were plenty of women who felt seen and heard from that story.
Its popularity meant a decent amount of money was made off of it that went straight to kdj's cousins pocket. Everyone profited from this novel in some way, everyone but kdj. (That's why he's the fool that has never dreamed of his own happiness, he can't picture it, it's always been everyone except him.)
So tell me why, kimcom + everyone writing orv and collecting the pieces they knew of him and spreading them out, not to one universe like his mother, but the eternal ever-multiplying universes and that is what saves him.
The exact same action, both born out of love and despair. One ruined him, and the other brought him home.

love that whenever kim dokja is away han sooyoung gets lonely and angry and bereft and starts killing people because it's her self-appointed task to dispose of problems nobody else wants to solve. she's an outsider from the way that everyone else who loves kdj grieves and it pisses her off because she's locked outside of viewing him the same way others do! she feels that only she knows the "truth" about kdj (the side of him that is annoying and self-important and knows about reading) and therefore can't feel as fondly towards him as everyone else. she is more "evil." their relationship is more "evil." and yet... he was the one who understood her. and so she misses him. and it PISSES HER OFF

UNRELIABLE NARRATORS; SEMI FINALS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*NOTE; propaganda is out of order due to the post length!
Eugenides Propaganda:
the entire plot hinges on a detail he lets the reader (and every other character) assume is true. I don't want to spoil it because it's a really fun reveal but he is lying from the first second he appears on the page and you can't trust him to tell the full truth about ANYTHING related to himself and his goals. he mostly does it to keep his advantage and not have other characters be suspicious of him but it's just so fun when you realise he's been lying the whole time
Kim Dokja Propaganda:
I haven't read orv but he's fucking gotta be from what I've osmosised
He tries to remove his emotions out of the narrative soooo much, literally the most repressed guy ever. Okay so for context orv is about how this guy, Kim Dokja, has been the only reader of an obscure post-apocalyptic webnovel for years and the novel suddenly becomes reality. And at first you'll probably get the weird impression that his behavior is pretty strange for, you know, a literal apocalypse happening in his world - like yes, he is concerned with survival but he doesn't seem all that scared and he kinda treats it like a video game where he has to grind to make himself stronger and he also treats his companions like a party in an rpg. Then there's also the way he approaches the protagonist of the webnovel, from the start he just kind of describes him as a ruthless psychopath and jerk that is unfortunately a pretty useful ally. And also there's the fact that he carefully omits any mention of his past and when somebody asks if he's worried about his family when the apocalypse starts he just kinda... brushes it off? Anyway so yeah, this bastard is definitely traumatized, although I don't know how much of spoiler territory that would be, considering the fact that literally when he first reveals his trauma he's also unreliable about it. And turns out he does indeed, care A LOT about this world and the people around him. Because well, he kinda didn't care to mention that this webnovel that has become reality was like... literally his whole world before it literally became his whole world. Like, it was the only thing keeping him going for 10+ years and the protagonist that he likes to call a stupid jerk was his comfort character who he pretended to be when he felt like he couldn't handle something in his life by being himself. The protagonist is also canonically the person he loves the most according to a prophecy and he literally can't fathom the thought of him dying, even the timeline versions of him that directly oppose him. And I haven't even mentioned the Fourth Wall yet but I feel like this propaganda is a little long already
misreading the intentions of his companion (yoo joonghyuk) so many time.
YOU DON'T UNDERSTANDDD DOKJA IS SUCH A UNRELIABLE NARRATORRRRRR GOD I COULD WRITE AN ESSAY BUT I KNOW YOU LOVE DOKJA TOO BUT OMG HE'S JUST SO AAAAAAAAAAAH
Rest of Propaganda under cut!
he is the worst like actually. he starts the story talking about how normal and average he is. he is not. he is constantly mischaracterizing his friends and he's so good at lying to the readers that you don't even realize it at first. almost every single time he cries we have to be told by other characters because he never says it himself. there is literally a scene where his narration says "i wasn't crying" and then the in-universe entity that narrates the actions of people (orv is really weird and meta) says that he was, in fact, crying. honestly genuinely anything he says about himself (or doesn't say) cannot be trusted. he is just so frustrating. he drives me mad. i love him dearly. but he drives me so mad.
Dictionary definition of unreliable narrator. Does not tell the reader anything and then things happen and he's like oh yeah btw there was also this and this earlier but i just didn't feel like mentioning it. There's even a thing called the "Fourth Wall" that is able to see through kdj's bs so occasionally you get gems like,
Kim Dokja: I didn't cry
The Fourth Wall: [Kim Dokja was crying]
Imagine being so unreliable as a narrator you need a more powerful narrator to call out the actual narrator.
^ same submission, just spacing it out
This goes into spoiler territory, but; Kim Dokja is in possession of a skill called the Fourth Wall, which on the surface seems like it appears because he read the book that reverse-isekai’d into his own. However, as the story goes on it becomes clear that it’s pretty much a souped up version of his pre-existing dissociation. You cannot trust him to be honest about his feelings, his past traumas or his feelings about his past traumas, not to mention his tendency to just outright omit information that only gets revealed later on either when it becomes relevant or when an outsider POV reveals what’s actually happening.
Exhibit A: he says (in 1st person POV) that he’s not crying. The Fourth Wall immediately contradicts this (as it is literally words of the novel) by saying (in 3rd person POV) ‘Kim Dokja was crying’.
Exhibit B: Fails to mention entire actions when it shows him emotionally honest even in the slightest; we had to read from another character entirely when Kim Dokja was being physically affectionate with his companion. It’s so bad that there’s this entire paragraph about Kim Dokja describing himself hiding his eyes in his hands in jerky, weirdly specific detail and just AVOIDING EVERY WORD THAT MIGHT SHOW HE’S CRYING. The brilliance of ORV is that when you re-read the entire thing you get hints that ‘yes, this WAS hinted at the entire time’ but you have to dig it out of Kim Dokja’s repressed, depressed self-hating internal dialogue with your own two hands.
^ same submission, spacing it out (i really should've done this earlier.)
i am a simple man (not a man). i see a tumblr text post with the words “unreliable narrator in it”. i read nothing else. i reblog & tag #kim dokja okay but in all seriousness i’m just going with the musty basic example: so there’s this moment where he sacrifices himself to save this guy. as he lays on the ground bleeding out, he says “hey, you don’t like me, right? you should kill me to get some money” the guy says “no kim dokja i cant do that (going through the five stages of grief except there’s only one and it’s anger)” the constellations (twitch viewers irl) are like omg he (the guy) doesn’t want to kill his companion (kim dokja) and shower him (the guy) with money kim dokja: oh, he’s not killing me for the money. smart!
as i quote a brilliant youtube video (all of omniscient reader’s viewpoint in 6 minutes) “yoo joonghyuk sees kim dokja as a c_____”
yoo joonghyuk: companion
kim dokja: cunt
^ same submission, once again. spacing it out.
Hides his true feelings, tells the readers what he thinks is convenient for the plot and that his own personal feelings don’t matter or are not so significant. Has unreliable thoughts abt his companion and is a liar. And is also an omniscient reader.
Kim Dokja always perceived his companions in this like nonchalant way like “oh yeah we get along but really we’re just fighting to survive (apocalypse setting) it doesn’t run that deep” when they all do genuinely care for him and he does in turn. He just, doesn’t think of it as an equal relationship? Dokja’ll sacrifice a lot for them but will get seriously flabbergasted if they do the same thing, so fricking problematic. Not to mention Yoo Joonghyuk, his “Life and Death Companion” (read: husband). Kim Dokja always seems to think that Joonghyuk has it out for him, which is kinda true, but he is literally blind to the fact that he’s attached to him. Like, it’s so obvious??? Also they have hella sexual tension but that’s another thing entirely
se get some many pov changes where kdj in his pov just assumed things based on what he knew the characters would do. however because of his interference the characters have changed and he wouldn’t know that if it hit him in the face
He's an unreliable narrator because he lies to himself and thus the audience. He literally rewrote his own childhood core memory. If someone says, "this guy is my friend!" He will go through so many hoola hoops in his mind just to rationalize it. Because he fundamentally believe that no one could love him and even if they did they couldn't know him and he's just gonna hurt them. He cries sometimes in canon but a lot of those times it's not even mentioned as crying he's that unreliable of a narrator. No joke, one time this guys he has a gay thing with called him his "companion" to someone who had just killed him (long story) and this bitch thought "oh wow he's doing it for the coins (another long story) he's so smart i wish I'd thought to that. He's terrible. He literally has an exchange with something called the Fourth Wall (an even longer story) where it said "you're crying" and he said "no I'm not" but he was crying. He makes me insane because the reader is supposed to project onto him. He made me see how much of an unreliable narrator I WAS. ORV is just like that tho.

AS A REMINDER, this is how Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja last left off--with KDJ lying his ass off about being a “prophet” in this new world (because the truth is so much weirder and more dangerous) and YJH was like, “I believe you.” and then--
Tumblr media Tumblr media
DROPS HIM OFF THE SIDE OF THE BRIDGE RIGHT INTO THE MOUTH OF A GIANT SEA MONSTER WITH ONLY A “IF YOU’RE REALLY A PROPHET YOU’LL FIND A WAY TO SURVIVE” So, understandably maybe some hard feelings there, just a little. Also a whole lot of “This guy really could kill me if I piss him off.” WHICH MEANS NATURALLY NEXT TIME THEY MEET IT’S GOING TO BE EXPLOSIVE AND WHO KNOWS HOW MUCH PROPERTY DAMAGE WILL HAPPEN AND KIM DOKJA IS PISSED AT YJH BECAUSE HE’S NOT TAKING CARE OF THE EVIL FUCKERS HE’S SUPPOSED TO BE TAKING CARE OF AND SO IT’S GOTTEN KDJ INTO A MESS THAT HE NEEDS HELP OUT OF AND THIS IS GOING TO BE SUCH A SHITSHOW WHEN YJH SHOWS UP AND--
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE DYING WHALE LAUGHTER I LET OUT AT THIS MANIPULATIVE LITTLE SHIT’S FACE HE NEEDS YJH’S POWER TO SCARE OFF SOME ASSHOLES AND NEEDS PEOPLE TO BELIEVE THEY’RE FRIENDS SO HE JUST-- LOOKS AT THE GUY WHO MAY WELL KILL HIM IF HE BREATHES WRONG WHO THREW HIM OFF A BRIDGE INTO THE MOUTH OF A GIANT SEA MONSTER WHO ANNOYS THE UNHOLY SHIT OUT OF HIM THE GUY WHO EVERYONE IS SHIT-YOUR-PANTS TERRIFIED OF AND GOES “:D :D :D HIIIIIIII~ LONG TIME NO SEE~” KIM DOKJA IS AN UNHINGED LIAR WHOSE PANTS ARE CONSTANTLY ON FIRE AND I LOVE HIM

'There are three ways to survive in a ruined world.' This is the first line of orv and the title of the novel Han Sooyoung wrote for Kim Dokja. But what exactly did she mean by that?
It's simple. The three ways are reading, writing, and regressing. These are the three methods we use cope with our lives, to survive each day.
Yoo Jonghyuk survived the hellish scenarios by regressing and remaining stuck in the terrifying past. With this method, he discovered various items and techniques that helped him improve each regression turn. However, despite the fact that each regression provided him with valuable information and wisdom, he slowly lost his soul and humanity. Regression represents how we replay our bad memories over and over, reliving the terror of the never-ending past. With this, we learn from our mistakes but never take a step forward. And that's why kimco chose to regress. They couldn't let go of the Kim Dokja they knew and loved, therefore they abandoned the peaceful lives they could've enjoyed with 49. Thus, in the end, they failed.
Meanwhile, Kim Dokja survived by reading. To escape the world in which he was regularly abused, he read twsa every day as a form of escapism. Reading teleported him to another world-a snowfield where he could confortably lay. This was his safe haven far away from the pain of his reality. And undeniably, so many people do the same. We use escapism to distract ourselves from trauma and pain. We deny the existence of these experiences and try to forget that they ever happened. But choosing to look away from the present doesn't solve anything. We convince ourselves that we're alright and everything's just fine, reading an entirely different and 'fake' story rather than facing the truth laid out in front of us.
On the other hand, Han Sooyoung was different from those two. She was a writer who crafted her own stories on paper. Piece by piece, she gathered letters from her bare soul to create two novels-twsa and orv. She did this with a clear goal in mind, to save a reader. And we are the fragments of that reader. But Han Sooyoung wasn't the one who truly gave us salvation through writing...it was ourselves. Due to orv's open ending, the story left Han Sooyoung's fingertips and entered the hands of all its readers. Because neither regression nor reading could save Kim Dokja, this was Han Sooyoung's final resort. She let us imagine and write an ending where Kim Dokja could live happily.
Han Sooyoung wrote orv not just so we could survive our own apocalypse, but so that we could allow ourselves to be happy. Because she realized that reading and regressing are just ways to survive, not to live.
What will you do? Will you regress and stay stuck in the past? Will you read and try to forget the bad memories? Or will you write your own story, taking a step forward one sentence at a time?
There's no way to know, but one thing is for certain....
You who are reading this now will survive.

Every so often, I think about how the misery and suffering of Yoo Joonghyuk and Secretive Plotter (The creation of TWSA/WOS) is Kim Dokja's greatest regret. Rereading World of Zero is particularly saddening when you recall the conversation Kim Dokja had with Lee Sookyung after he told his companions about TWSA/WOS.
Because he feels so guilty, he feels like he needs to atone somehow - That's why he didn't hesitate trying to end his own life when they met the Oldest Dream. These worldlines, the suffering of that ruined world, are all of his sins. Even when Yoo Joonghyuk catches the blade aimed at his neck, even when the Secretive Plotter chooses to save and raise the Oldest Dream alongside his companions, he firmly believes that he needs to take the blame that nobody placed on him. He doesn't understand why Yoo Joonghyuk and Secretive Plotter don't hate him. They have to - they need to hate him so that Kim Dokja can somehow ask for forgiveness, atone for it all. But they don't.
In World of Zero, this is one of his self-lies that's constantly repeated.
'He'd become the 'Secretive Plotter', and start hating me.'
'He'd become the 'Secretive Plotter' someday, and… …And at the same time, also become the 1864th turn's Yoo Joonghyuk that I knew. He'd grow to resent me, and eventually reach the truth of this world.'
He has to believe that they hate him for the regressions and suffering they went through.
That it was his fault and giving the 'happiest' conclusion to the 0th turn is his atonement - a life without the regressions and suffering that came from it.
But.
'"I don't care even if the odds are low."
[Incarnation, 'Yoo Joonghyuk', has accepted your offer.]'
Yoo Joonghyuk chooses regression. A choice that Kim Dokja can't readily accept. The Fourth Wall asks him this in response;
'⸢However, Yoo Joonghyuk would become miserable once more.⸥
⸢Why are y ou de ci ding th at?⸥'
It isn't his right to decide. That means it also isn't his fault or his responsibility. It means that he can't atone for what he did - in the first place, was it a matter that needed forgiveness?
Lee Sookyung once told him this;
'My mother stretched out her bony hand and grabbed mine.
"You thought they would blame you. You thought they would feel deceived and ask why you hid the information."
"It didn't happen like that."
"You don't know how to seek forgiveness."
I silently nodded.
My mother said, "It isn't up to you to decide if it is a matter to forgive."'
Kim Dokja still can't accept it. And then, Yoo Joonghyuk makes the choice of group regression. And then, Han Sooyoung makes the choice to sacrifice 13 years of her life and the world itself to tell him the same thing; That it wasn't his fault.
But how could Kim Dokja think otherwise?

Reading the webtoon and…
Tumblr media
Does this imply that Kim Dokja also tried to write a questionnaire for her to fill in since she wouldn’t speak to him, that either he 1) never gave her in the end (especially if he couldn’t find her after she was released) or 2) gave it to her and she STILL refused to answer?
Because that is so so so so awful. It was already bad but if he tried so many ways to get her to speak and she still gave him no response, regardless of her reasoning… isn’t that still directly choosing to cut herself fully out of his life? Why in the hell did she lie for his sake and allow him to visit her if she wanted to never speak to him again?
I know everyone claims Kim Dokja is just like her in sacrificing himself for loved ones, but at least he tries his best to stay with them and to keep them in his life. He still chooses sacrifice, but it’s not because he intends to never return. He always returns (even if much later than planned).
The only time this differs is with 51%, when he STILL tried his best to stay with them - at least as much as he could.
I sometimes like Lee Sookyung, but I am mostly still SO mad at her for completely ignoring her child since he was 8 years old. Especially when he must have looked like shit any number of times from being mistreated and bullied by family, friends, army, employers.
But maybe that’s just the fragment in me being eternally pissed with her. She DOES love him, but like he says in the webtoon in this chapter - maybe such truths are painful enough to be false anyways, because they’re just SUCH bullshit. That’s not how affection should work, if you actually care about someone and want them to be happy.
#RAWWRGHHH I WANT TO SHAKE HER SO MUCH#LOOK AFTER YOUR KID#and if you can’t do that because of circumstances at least ACKNOWLEDGE HIM#yes I do know she cared and it’s just that she mistakenly believes he’s better off this way without her but like#then WHY does she still insert herself back into his life when he’s finally stopped trying to get her to speak?#yes yes others have great analyses on her and their relationship and I usually agree with their logic but it’s still. So. Hard. to like her#but then I remember that this story was the little Dream’s wishful thinking to cope back then on his own#and so maybe in his world Lee Sookyung never ever would speak to him again#he just wished she would so he wrote it down as happening for This older version of him#and that’s somehow worse because like#even in the story where he got her to speak to him again she still won’t speak so he has to force the words out some way (via outer god)#and if that’s true then it’s still just his interpretation of her actions and choices#and not her own since she never told him#so like ARGGHHH#but I like to believe that characters have autonomy despite their respective author’s efforts in documenting them#so she still chose to speak all of this too and he would have accurately interpreted her this way because she controls what she says#even if he (little Dream Kim Dokja) is the one writing it down as wish fulfilment fix-it fic#a fix-it for himself and not just for the other people he loves#😭😭😭#orv#orv spoilers#omniscient reader’s viewpoint#lee sookyung#kim dokja

fic: the clatter of niceties ringing false
2nd pov / chara study / platonic kdj & company
tw -> suicide, suicidal thoughts, self-loathing.
The truth is - until he reads that fateful novel, Kim Dokja is not much of a dreamer. (Or: Kim Dokja regresses. Physically and mentally, that is - back to the fine, tender age of fifteen, covered in inexplicable injuries and lacking all knowledge of what it means to survive for tomorrow. At least his tight-lipped sense of secrecy hasn't changed. Which is not a good thing, by the way.)

The fact that the "Yoo Joonghyuk from the 0th turn was willing to go through 1864 regressions solely to see Kim Dokja again" notion is so popular kinda irks me because of how it 1) strips YJH of any nuance in his character by reducing him to a pining lovesick man 2) kinda disregards an arguably more heartfelt reading of the scene
To clarify, I'm not gonna argue that YJH did not consider KDJ in his decision to regress, he evidently did, but it drives me nuts when people act like that's the only reason why YJH regressed.
Now granted, YJH did kinda start this whole conversation with "If I choose you as my Constellation sponsor, will I finally get to meet you?" and so I understand when people think that meeting KDJ face-to-face is the reason why YJH chose to regress despite the slim chances but I also want people to consider one of YJH's enduring characteristics.
YJH has always been portrayed as wanting to know the truth of the world he lived in and wanting to understand his origins. He seeks to reach the conclusion because he wants answers for his suffering and the hardships he went through. Hell, one of the things he says to KDJ during this scene was "Who am I?" and then he goes on to ask whether "the secret of this world lies beyond the wall, where you are?"
YJH of the 0th turn has reached a point in his life where he is happy but he says that it's because of that that he's "even more curious about what lies beyond the wall". He wishes to take the time to understand himself after achieving such happiness and this really feels like an example of someone seeking self-actualisation.
And this also ties into my second point because understanding YJH's (imo) primary motivation ultimately frames this scene as one where two individuals who deeply love each other have to separate because one of them has decided to dedicate their life to a certain goal while the other (reluctantly) accepts their decision because they understand that it would make their loved one fulfilled.
It's a different flavour of bittersweet from the popular reading because what separates them is ultimately YJH's desire to reach self-fulfillment and KDJ accepting his desire even if it he thinks YJH is a "dumb bastard" for doing so.
After spending so much time with YJH, both as a character and as a companion, KDJ understands better than anyone that this is what YJH needs to do. And so he lets him go.
Even if it hurts. Even if he knows that YJH would eventually resent him for it. Even if he thinks regressing will just make him miserable. He lets go because he knows that this is who YJH is and he would be remiss if he let his own personal feelings get in the way of respecting his agency.
And yes, this sucker punching line right here "Tell me, you fool. If I continue to regress, will I ever get to meet you again?" does imply that half of his reason to regress is to meet KDJ irl but! I also wanna point out that KDJ never really confirmed to YJH that he could meet him again. And taking that into consideration alongside YJH's final words to KDJ, "I shall pray that you may continue to exist somewhere too" and that he still didn't stop to second-guess his regression, you're kinda left with the impression that YJH would have still gone on this journey even with the possibility that KDJ may never show up again in the future. He regresses with the small hope that they will meet each other again but he doesn't move forward solely because of that small hope.
I like to think that it's because in the 0th turn, YJH already considers them to be companions and even if he doesn't meet KDJ again, that doesn't mean their bond didn't exist.
Because, as he said about his other companions, "Just because I will forget about them, doesn't mean they'll suddenly stop existing".
Much like how the Demon King of Salvation won't stop existing even if he forgets him.
But like, regardless of whether my interpretation is right or not, I just think that YJH going forward for his own truth rather than just a desire to see KDJ again makes for a sweeter narrative after the bittersweet ending of the 0th turn.
Because as luck would have it, KDJ would once again guide YJH towards the end on his 1864th turn in the future/past, just like how he did during the 0th turn.
Regardless of YJH's personal motivations and KDJ's personal hangups, the two are irrevocably linked and that small hope from seemingly aeons ago finally became reality after countless lives.
Maybe this is why they are called "Life and Death Companions".

Do you think the MIA side story is actually the "original timeline" cause if not, I'm thinking about what would have happened if kimcom (well sys & lsh) didn't intervene
i actually have so many thoughts about this jahdjkdh STRAP IN LONG POST AHEAD
first lets talk about what the 'original timeline' is. the simplest way to define it is the story written of in the original 'Ways of Survival' 3149 chapters, that happens without Kim Dokja's (or hsy's) direct influence. ergo, Secretive Plotter's 1863 regressions, but also the unrecorded history of his life as an outer god.
that leaves round's 0, alt-1863, 1864, 1865 as worlds that were directly influenced by kim dokja and part of an 'altered' timeline, and I would make the claim that they happen to a different, alt!yjh too.
if the 'original timeline' is written by 1863!hsy in the novel 'Ways of Survival', lived by the Secretive Plotter and brought to life by the Oldest Dream; then the 'altered timeline' is written by 'our' Han Sooyoung and 1864!Yoo Joonghyuk (+kimcom) in 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint,' lived by Kim Dokja and brought to life by us.
for me, all confusing time paradox, alternate universe stuff makes sense in the context of these two timelines.
Secretive Plotter, when he becomes an outer god and starts observing his own past regressions, mistakenly starts to believe that he can intervene in his own past because he seemingly successfully did in the 999th turn- but actually, that was the only way it could have ever gone, because that was what was written in WoS and what he had already lived. it was an exception and the only exception.
(the alt!1863 world-line was always different from his own past 1863rd regression, unlike with 999, because he would have remembered it if it had happened to him; he only decided to intervene in it bc the alt!3rd turn existed, which in turn was created because he intervened in the alt!1863 turn etc etc the end result devours the cause etc we get it)
SP knows the universe is a closed loop intellectually but he doesn't ever comprehend it fully- because he is a character, he cannot see past the fourth wall even when he learns of its existence (he very literally cant break past the Final Wall). but his story wasn't about that. as all Yoo Joonghyuks do, he wondered about the meaning of his existence, and the conclusion he eventually arrived at was that he existed for the Oldest Dream- he accepted this answer, made the oldest dream a reality and went off to live in domestic found family bliss with little kdj and 999th turns outer gods. thats the way he escapes being a 'character.' (good for him)
on the other hand 'our' yoo joonghyuk / alt!yjh is on a totally different trajectory than Secretive Plotter.
his story starts (as much as anything has a 'start' in orv...) at the end of the alt!1863 world-line when he chooses to live / regress to meet Kim Dokja. he only knows to do that because he literally sees his own story written on the Fourth Wall- hes already very locked in to the truth of the universe from the get-go. then, he sacrifices most of his memories to create that world he saw, the quote 'world-line above the Wall.' he does the impossible and escapes from being a character with his own fervent willpower.
and this YJH is the one we read about in ORV, whose fundamentally different from SP in various ways but most importantly in his...complete self-awareness of the fact he is a character in a novel, not intellectually, but like, existentally?? he is constantly not breaking the fourth wall exactly, but seeing the edges of it intruding on his experience of reality in cosmically horrifying ways (he reminds me a lot of that one tumblr post about eldritch madness).
ANYWAY WE HAVE FINALLY ARRIVED AT YOUR QUESTION JESUS THIS POST IS LONG
yma side story yoo joonghyuk is the alt!yjh through and through baby!!!! he is:
directly impacted by kim dokja's existence (through kimcom)
living through events not described in WoS (but that are described in ORV)
existentially aware of a (fourth) wall dividing reality in two (to the point of madness/psychosis- he literally sees this wall in a psychic vision!!)
and to answer the second part of your question...its hard to say what SP thinks about his pre-scenarios life, but I think it might be along the same lines as every other character does. he knows he was a pro gamer, can vaugley reminisce about it, but it isnt relevent to the plot so he doesnt think about it very often. (heck, he might even assume he has parents and a childhood!)

Kim 👏 Dokja’s 👏 only 👏 reference 👏 for 👏 love 👏 his 👏 whole 👏 life 👏 was 👏 his 👏 mother 👏
he did not have a single friend for his whole life! and as far as his conscious mind knew, his mom’s act of protection and her subsequent sacrifice were sullied by her essay!
And he! Hated her for it! But he visited her! And told her about the novel that was the only thing that made his life worth living! Because somewhere deep down he did still love her and OF COURSE he knew she still loved him! Especially that deep down buried part of himself that Knew The Truth! Which made the hate hurt even worse!!
And so then!! When he finally had people he loved and who loved him back! He told them he loved them THE 👏 ONLY 👏 WAY 👏 HE 👏 KNEW 👏 TO 👏 TELL 👏 THEM 👏
Was to sacrifice himself. Over, and over, and over. And then use the story he created from that sacrifice, the Demon King of Salvation, to save them.
And that’s why all their attempts to stop him never worked. Because they tried to tell him that he was just as important as them. They tried to stand beside him in his sacrifice. They tried to get him to tell them the plan, so they could make a better one together.
But the plan was Never the point. He finally had people he loved, and now he even had a power that allowed him to negate his fear of death and numb his pain, and then the opportunity to come back from death, to tell them with more than one life and death how much he loved and cherished them.
